8. 1  
When he was come down from the mountain, great multitudes followed him.
- Lorsque Jésus fut descendu de la montagne, une grande foule le suivit. (Ⅱ)
- ⸂Καταβάντος δὲ αὐτοῦ⸃ ἀπὸ τοῦ ὄρους ἠκολούθησαν αὐτῷ ὄχλοι πολλοί. (Ⅲ)
- Cum autem descendisset de monte, secutæ sunt eum turbæ multæ : (Ⅳ)
8. 2  
And, behold, there came a leper and worshipped him, saying, Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean.
- Et voici, un lépreux s'étant approché se prosterna devant lui, et dit: Seigneur, si tu le veux, tu peux me rendre pur. (Ⅱ)
- καὶ ἰδοὺ λεπρὸς ⸀προσελθὼν προσεκύνει αὐτῷ λέγων· Κύριε, ἐὰν θέλῃς δύνασαί με καθαρίσαι. (Ⅲ)
- et ecce leprosus veniens, adorabat eum, dicens : Domine, si vis, potes me mundare. (Ⅳ)
8. 3  
And Jesus put forth his hand, and touched him, saying, I will; be thou clean. And immediately his leprosy was cleansed.
- Jésus étendit la main, le toucha, et dit: Je le veux, sois pur. Aussitôt il fut purifié de sa lèpre. (Ⅱ)
- καὶ ἐκτείνας τὴν χεῖρα ἥψατο ⸀αὐτοῦ λέγων· Θέλω, καθαρίσθητι· καὶ εὐθέως ἐκαθαρίσθη αὐτοῦ ἡ λέπρα. (Ⅲ)
- Et extendens Jesus manum, tetigit eum, dicens : Volo : mundare. Et confestim mundata est lepra ejus. (Ⅳ)
8. 4  
And Jesus saith unto him, See thou tell no man; but go thy way, shew thyself to the priest, and offer the gift that Moses commanded, for a testimony unto them.
- Puis Jésus lui dit: Garde-toi d'en parler à personne; mais va te montrer au sacrificateur, et présente l'offrande que Moïse a prescrite, afin que cela leur serve de témoignage. (Ⅱ)
- καὶ λέγει αὐτῷ ὁ Ἰησοῦς· Ὅρα μηδενὶ εἴπῃς, ἀλλὰ ὕπαγε σεαυτὸν δεῖξον τῷ ἱερεῖ, καὶ προσένεγκον τὸ δῶρον ὃ προσέταξεν Μωϋσῆς εἰς μαρτύριον αὐτοῖς. (Ⅲ)
- Et ait illi Jesus : Vide, nemini dixeris : sed vade, ostende te sacerdoti, et offer munus, quod præcepit Moyses, in testimonium illis.\ (Ⅳ)
8. 5  
And when Jesus was entered into Capernaum, there came unto him a centurion, beseeching him,
- Comme Jésus entrait dans Capernaüm, un centenier l'aborda, (Ⅱ)
- ⸂Εἰσελθόντος δὲ αὐτοῦ⸃ εἰς Καφαρναοὺμ προσῆλθεν αὐτῷ ἑκατόνταρχος παρακαλῶν αὐτὸν (Ⅲ)
- Cum autem introisset Capharnaum, accessit ad eum centurio, rogans eum, (Ⅳ)
8. 6  
And saying, Lord, my servant lieth at home sick of the palsy, grievously tormented.
- le priant et disant: Seigneur, mon serviteur est couché à la maison, atteint de paralysie et souffrant beaucoup. (Ⅱ)
- καὶ λέγων· Κύριε, ὁ παῖς μου βέβληται ἐν τῇ οἰκίᾳ παραλυτικός, δεινῶς βασανιζόμενος. (Ⅲ)
- et dicens : Domine, puer meus jacet in domo paralyticus, et male torquetur. (Ⅳ)
8. 7  
And Jesus saith unto him, I will come and heal him.
- Jésus lui dit: J'irai, et je le guérirai. (Ⅱ)
- ⸀καὶ λέγει ⸀αὐτῷ· Ἐγὼ ἐλθὼν θεραπεύσω αὐτόν. (Ⅲ)
- Et ait illi Jesus : Ego veniam, et curabo eum. (Ⅳ)
8. 8  
The centurion answered and said, Lord, I am not worthy that thou shouldest come under my roof: but speak the word only, and my servant shall be healed.
- Le centenier répondit: Seigneur, je ne suis pas digne que tu entres sous mon toit; mais dis seulement un mot, et mon serviteur sera guéri. (Ⅱ)
- ⸂καὶ ἀποκριθεὶς⸃ ὁ ἑκατόνταρχος ἔφη· Κύριε, οὐκ εἰμὶ ἱκανὸς ἵνα μου ὑπὸ τὴν στέγην εἰσέλθῃς· ἀλλὰ μόνον εἰπὲ λόγῳ, καὶ ἰαθήσεται ὁ παῖς μου· (Ⅲ)
- Et respondens centurio, ait : Domine, non sum dignus ut intres sub tectum meum : sed tantum dic verbo, et sanabitur puer meus. (Ⅳ)
8. 9  
For I am a man under authority, having soldiers under me: and I say to this man, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it.
- Car, moi qui suis soumis à des supérieurs, j'ai des soldats sous mes ordres; et je dis à l'un: Va! et il va; à l'autre: Viens! et il vient; et à mon serviteur: Fais cela! et il le fait. (Ⅱ)
- καὶ γὰρ ἐγὼ ἄνθρωπός εἰμι ὑπὸ ⸀ἐξουσίαν, ἔχων ὑπ’ ἐμαυτὸν στρατιώτας, καὶ λέγω τούτῳ· Πορεύθητι, καὶ πορεύεται, καὶ ἄλλῳ· Ἔρχου, καὶ ἔρχεται, καὶ τῷ δούλῳ μου· Ποίησον τοῦτο, καὶ ποιεῖ. (Ⅲ)
- Nam et ego homo sum sub potestate constitutus, habens sub me milites, et dico huic : Vade, et vadit : et alii : Veni, et venit : et servo meo : Fac hoc, et facit. (Ⅳ)
8. 10  
When Jesus heard it, he marvelled, and said to them that followed, Verily I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.
- Après l'avoir entendu, Jésus fut dans l'étonnement, et il dit à ceux qui le suivaient: Je vous le dis en vérité, même en Israël je n'ai pas trouvé une aussi grande foi. (Ⅱ)
- ἀκούσας δὲ ὁ Ἰησοῦς ἐθαύμασεν καὶ εἶπεν τοῖς ἀκολουθοῦσιν· Ἀμὴν λέγω ὑμῖν, ⸂παρ’ οὐδενὶ τοσαύτην πίστιν ἐν τῷ Ἰσραὴλ⸃ εὗρον. (Ⅲ)
- Audiens autem Jesus miratus est, et sequentibus se dixit : Amen dico vobis, non inveni tantam fidem in Israël. (Ⅳ)
8. 11  
And I say unto you, That many shall come from the east and west, and shall sit down with Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, in the kingdom of heaven.
- Or, je vous déclare que plusieurs viendront de l'orient et de l'occident, et seront à table avec Abraham, Isaac et Jacob, dans le royaume des cieux. (Ⅱ)
- λέγω δὲ ὑμῖν ὅτι πολλοὶ ἀπὸ ἀνατολῶν καὶ δυσμῶν ἥξουσιν καὶ ἀνακλιθήσονται μετὰ Ἀβραὰμ καὶ Ἰσαὰκ καὶ Ἰακὼβ ἐν τῇ βασιλείᾳ τῶν οὐρανῶν· (Ⅲ)
- Dico autem vobis, quod multi ab oriente et occidente venient, et recumbent cum Abraham, et Isaac, et Jacob in regno cælorum : (Ⅳ)
8. 12  
But the children of the kingdom shall be cast out into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
- Mais les fils du royaume seront jetés dans les ténèbres du dehors, où il y aura des pleurs et des grincements de dents. (Ⅱ)
- οἱ δὲ υἱοὶ τῆς βασιλείας ἐκβληθήσονται εἰς τὸ σκότος τὸ ἐξώτερον· ἐκεῖ ἔσται ὁ κλαυθμὸς καὶ ὁ βρυγμὸς τῶν ὀδόντων. (Ⅲ)
- filii autem regni ejicientur in tenebras exteriores : ibi erit fletus et stridor dentium. (Ⅳ)
8. 13  
And Jesus said unto the centurion, Go thy way; and as thou hast believed, so be it done unto thee. And his servant was healed in the selfsame hour.
- Puis Jésus dit au centenier: Va, qu'il te soit fait selon ta foi. Et à l'heure même le serviteur fut guéri. (Ⅱ)
- καὶ εἶπεν ὁ Ἰησοῦς τῷ ἑκατοντάρχῃ· Ὕπαγε, ⸀ὡς ἐπίστευσας γενηθήτω σοι· καὶ ἰάθη ὁ ⸀παῖς ἐν τῇ ὥρᾳ ἐκείνῃ. (Ⅲ)
- Et dixit Jesus centurioni : Vade, et sicut credidisti, fiat tibi. Et sanatus est puer in illa hora.\ (Ⅳ)
8. 14  
And when Jesus was come into Peter's house, he saw his wife's mother laid, and sick of a fever.
- Jésus se rendit ensuite à la maison de Pierre, dont il vit la belle-mère couchée et ayant la fièvre. (Ⅱ)
- Καὶ ἐλθὼν ὁ Ἰησοῦς εἰς τὴν οἰκίαν Πέτρου εἶδεν τὴν πενθερὰν αὐτοῦ βεβλημένην καὶ πυρέσσουσαν· (Ⅲ)
- Et cum venisset Jesus in domum Petri, vidit socrum ejus jacentem, et febricitantem : (Ⅳ)
8. 15  
And he touched her hand, and the fever left her: and she arose, and ministered unto them.
- Il toucha sa main, et la fièvre la quitta; puis elle se leva, et le servit. (Ⅱ)
- καὶ ἥψατο τῆς χειρὸς αὐτῆς, καὶ ἀφῆκεν αὐτὴν ὁ πυρετός, καὶ ἠγέρθη καὶ διηκόνει αὐτῷ. (Ⅲ)
- et tetigit manum ejus, et dimisit eam febris, et surrexit, et ministrabat eis.\ (Ⅳ)
8. 16  
When the even was come, they brought unto him many that were possessed with devils: and he cast out the spirits with his word, and healed all that were sick:
- Le soir, on amena auprès de Jésus plusieurs démoniaques. Il chassa les esprits par sa parole, et il guérit tous les malades, (Ⅱ)
- Ὀψίας δὲ γενομένης προσήνεγκαν αὐτῷ δαιμονιζομένους πολλούς· καὶ ἐξέβαλεν τὰ πνεύματα λόγῳ, καὶ πάντας τοὺς κακῶς ἔχοντας ἐθεράπευσεν· (Ⅲ)
- Vespere autem facto, obtulerunt ei multos dæmonia habentes : et ejiciebat spiritus verbo, et omnes male habentes curavit : (Ⅳ)
8. 17  
That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying, Himself took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses.
- afin que s'accomplît ce qui avait été annoncé par Ésaïe, le prophète: Il a pris nos infirmités, et il s'est chargé de nos maladies. (Ⅱ)
- ὅπως πληρωθῇ τὸ ῥηθὲν διὰ Ἠσαΐου τοῦ προφήτου λέγοντος· Αὐτὸς τὰς ἀσθενείας ἡμῶν ἔλαβεν καὶ τὰς νόσους ἐβάστασεν. (Ⅲ)
- ut adimpleretur quod dictum est per Isaiam prophetam, dicentem : [Ipse infirmitates nostras accepit :/ et ægrotationes nostras portavit.] (Ⅳ)
8. 18  
Now when Jesus saw great multitudes about him, he gave commandment to depart unto the other side.
- Jésus, voyant une grande foule autour de lui, donna l'ordre de passer à l'autre bord. (Ⅱ)
- Ἰδὼν δὲ ὁ Ἰησοῦς ⸂πολλοὺς ὄχλους⸃ περὶ αὐτὸν ἐκέλευσεν ἀπελθεῖν εἰς τὸ πέραν. (Ⅲ)
- Videns autem Jesus turbas multas circum se, jussit ire trans fretum.\ (Ⅳ)
8. 19  
And a certain scribe came, and said unto him, Master, I will follow thee whithersoever thou goest.
- Un scribe s'approcha, et lui dit: Maître, je te suivrai partout où tu iras. (Ⅱ)
- καὶ προσελθὼν εἷς γραμματεὺς εἶπεν αὐτῷ· Διδάσκαλε, ἀκολουθήσω σοι ὅπου ἐὰν ἀπέρχῃ. (Ⅲ)
- Et accedens unus scriba, ait illi : Magister, sequar te, quocumque ieris. (Ⅳ)
8. 20  
And Jesus saith unto him, The foxes have holes, and the birds of the air have nests; but the Son of man hath not where to lay his head.
- Jésus lui répondit: Les renards ont des tanières, et les oiseaux du ciel ont des nids; mais le Fils de l'homme n'a pas où reposer sa tête. (Ⅱ)
- καὶ λέγει αὐτῷ ὁ Ἰησοῦς· Αἱ ἀλώπεκες φωλεοὺς ἔχουσιν καὶ τὰ πετεινὰ τοῦ οὐρανοῦ κατασκηνώσεις, ὁ δὲ υἱὸς τοῦ ἀνθρώπου οὐκ ἔχει ποῦ τὴν κεφαλὴν κλίνῃ. (Ⅲ)
- Et dicit ei Jesus : Vulpes foveas habent, et volucres cæli nidos ; Filius autem hominis non habet ubi caput reclinet. (Ⅳ)
8. 21  
And another of his disciples said unto him, Lord, suffer me first to go and bury my father.
- Un autre, d'entre les disciples, lui dit: Seigneur, permets-moi d'aller d'abord ensevelir mon père. (Ⅱ)
- ἕτερος δὲ τῶν ⸀μαθητῶν εἶπεν αὐτῷ· Κύριε, ἐπίτρεψόν μοι πρῶτον ἀπελθεῖν καὶ θάψαι τὸν πατέρα μου. (Ⅲ)
- Alius autem de discipulis ejus ait illi : Domine, permitte me primum ire, et sepelire patrem meum. (Ⅳ)
8. 22  
But Jesus said unto him, Follow me; and let the dead bury their dead.
- Mais Jésus lui répondit: Suis-moi, et laisse les morts ensevelir leurs morts. (Ⅱ)
- ὁ δὲ Ἰησοῦς ⸀λέγει αὐτῷ· Ἀκολούθει μοι, καὶ ἄφες τοὺς νεκροὺς θάψαι τοὺς ἑαυτῶν νεκρούς. (Ⅲ)
- Jesus autem ait illi : Sequere me, et dimitte mortuos sepelire mortuos suos.\ (Ⅳ)
8. 23  
And when he was entered into a ship, his disciples followed him.
- Il monta dans la barque, et ses disciples le suivirent. (Ⅱ)
- Καὶ ἐμβάντι αὐτῷ ⸀εἰς πλοῖον ἠκολούθησαν αὐτῷ οἱ μαθηταὶ αὐτοῦ. (Ⅲ)
- Et ascendente eo in naviculam, secuti sunt eum discipuli ejus : (Ⅳ)
8. 24  
And, behold, there arose a great tempest in the sea, insomuch that the ship was covered with the waves: but he was asleep.
- Et voici, il s'éleva sur la mer une si grande tempête que la barque était couverte par les flots. Et lui, il dormait. (Ⅱ)
- καὶ ἰδοὺ σεισμὸς μέγας ἐγένετο ἐν τῇ θαλάσσῃ, ὥστε τὸ πλοῖον καλύπτεσθαι ὑπὸ τῶν κυμάτων, αὐτὸς δὲ ἐκάθευδεν. (Ⅲ)
- et ecce motus magnus factus est in mari, ita ut navicula operiretur fluctibus : ipse vero dormiebat. (Ⅳ)
8. 25  
And his disciples came to him, and awoke him, saying, Lord, save us: we perish.
- Les disciples s'étant approchés le réveillèrent, et dirent: Seigneur, sauve-nous, nous périssons! (Ⅱ)
- καὶ ⸀προσελθόντες ἤγειραν αὐτὸν λέγοντες· Κύριε, ⸀σῶσον, ἀπολλύμεθα. (Ⅲ)
- Et accesserunt ad eum discipuli ejus, et suscitaverunt eum, dicentes : Domine, salva nos : perimus. (Ⅳ)
8. 26  
And he saith unto them, Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith? Then he arose, and rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was a great calm.
- Il leur dit: Pourquoi avez-vous peur, gens de peu de foi? Alors il se leva, menaça les vents et la mer, et il y eut un grand calme. (Ⅱ)
- καὶ λέγει αὐτοῖς· Τί δειλοί ἐστε, ὀλιγόπιστοι; τότε ἐγερθεὶς ἐπετίμησεν τοῖς ἀνέμοις καὶ τῇ θαλάσσῃ, καὶ ἐγένετο γαλήνη μεγάλη. (Ⅲ)
- Et dicit eis Jesus : Quid timidi estis, modicæ fidei ? Tunc surgens imperavit ventis, et mari, et facta est tranquillitas magna. (Ⅳ)
8. 27  
But the men marvelled, saying, What manner of man is this, that even the winds and the sea obey him!
- Ces hommes furent saisis d'étonnement: Quel est celui-ci, disaient-ils, à qui obéissent même les vents et la mer? (Ⅱ)
- οἱ δὲ ἄνθρωποι ἐθαύμασαν λέγοντες· Ποταπός ἐστιν οὗτος ὅτι καὶ οἱ ἄνεμοι καὶ ἡ θάλασσα ⸂αὐτῷ ὑπακούουσιν⸃; (Ⅲ)
- Porro homines mirati sunt, dicentes : Qualis est hic, quia venti et mare obediunt ei ?\ (Ⅳ)
8. 28  
And when he was come to the other side into the country of the Gergesenes, there met him two possessed with devils, coming out of the tombs, exceeding fierce, so that no man might pass by that way.
- Lorsqu'il fut à l'autre bord, dans le pays des Gadaréniens, deux démoniaques, sortant des sépulcres, vinrent au-devant de lui. Ils étaient si furieux que personne n'osait passer par là. (Ⅱ)
- Καὶ ⸂ἐλθόντος αὐτοῦ⸃ εἰς τὸ πέραν εἰς τὴν χώραν τῶν ⸀Γαδαρηνῶν ὑπήντησαν αὐτῷ δύο δαιμονιζόμενοι ἐκ τῶν μνημείων ἐξερχόμενοι, χαλεποὶ λίαν ὥστε μὴ ἰσχύειν τινὰ παρελθεῖν διὰ τῆς ὁδοῦ ἐκείνης. (Ⅲ)
- Et cum venisset trans fretum in regionem Gerasenorum, occurrerunt ei duo habentes dæmonia, de monumentis exeuntes, sævi nimis, ita ut nemo posset transire per viam illam. (Ⅳ)
8. 29  
And, behold, they cried out, saying, What have we to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of God? art thou come hither to torment us before the time?
- Et voici, ils s'écrièrent: Qu'y a-t-il entre nous et toi, Fils de Dieu? Es-tu venu ici pour nous tourmenter avant le temps? (Ⅱ)
- καὶ ἰδοὺ ἔκραξαν λέγοντες· Τί ἡμῖν καὶ ⸀σοί, υἱὲ τοῦ θεοῦ; ἦλθες ὧδε πρὸ καιροῦ βασανίσαι ἡμᾶς; (Ⅲ)
- Et ecce clamaverunt, dicentes : Quid nobis et tibi, Jesu fili Dei ? Venisti huc ante tempus torquere nos ? (Ⅳ)
8. 30  
And there was a good way off from them an herd of many swine feeding.
- Il y avait loin d'eux un grand troupeau de pourceaux qui paissaient. (Ⅱ)
- ἦν δὲ μακρὰν ἀπ’ αὐτῶν ἀγέλη χοίρων πολλῶν βοσκομένη. (Ⅲ)
- Erat autem non longe ab illis grex multorum porcorum pascens. (Ⅳ)
8. 31  
So the devils besought him, saying, If thou cast us out, suffer us to go away into the herd of swine.
- Les démons priaient Jésus, disant: Si tu nous chasses, envoie-nous dans ce troupeau de pourceaux. (Ⅱ)
- οἱ δὲ δαίμονες παρεκάλουν αὐτὸν λέγοντες· Εἰ ἐκβάλλεις ἡμᾶς, ⸂ἀπόστειλον ἡμᾶς⸃ εἰς τὴν ἀγέλην τῶν χοίρων. (Ⅲ)
- Dæmones autem rogabant eum, dicentes : Si ejicis nos hinc, mitte nos in gregem porcorum. (Ⅳ)
8. 32  
And he said unto them, Go. And when they were come out, they went into the herd of swine: and, behold, the whole herd of swine ran violently down a steep place into the sea, and perished in the waters.
- Il leur dit: Allez! Ils sortirent, et entrèrent dans les pourceaux. Et voici, tout le troupeau se précipita des pentes escarpées dans la mer, et ils périrent dans les eaux. (Ⅱ)
- καὶ εἶπεν αὐτοῖς· Ὑπάγετε. οἱ δὲ ἐξελθόντες ἀπῆλθον εἰς ⸂τοὺς χοίρους⸃· καὶ ἰδοὺ ὥρμησεν πᾶσα ἡ ⸀ἀγέλη κατὰ τοῦ κρημνοῦ εἰς τὴν θάλασσαν, καὶ ἀπέθανον ἐν τοῖς ὕδασιν. (Ⅲ)
- Et ait illis : Ite. At illi exeuntes abierunt in porcos, et ecce impetu abiit totus grex per præceps in mare : et mortui sunt in aquis. (Ⅳ)
8. 33  
And they that kept them fled, and went their ways into the city, and told every thing, and what was befallen to the possessed of the devils.
- Ceux qui les faisaient paître s'enfuirent, et allèrent dans la ville raconter tout ce qui s'était passé et ce qui était arrivé aux démoniaques. (Ⅱ)
- οἱ δὲ βόσκοντες ἔφυγον, καὶ ἀπελθόντες εἰς τὴν πόλιν ἀπήγγειλαν πάντα καὶ τὰ τῶν δαιμονιζομένων. (Ⅲ)
- Pastores autem fugerunt : et venientes in civitatem, nuntiaverunt omnia, et de eis qui dæmonia habuerant. (Ⅳ)
8. 34  
And, behold, the whole city came out to meet Jesus: and when they saw him, they besought him that he would depart out of their coasts.
- Alors toute la ville sortit à la rencontre de Jésus; et, dès qu'ils le virent, ils le supplièrent de quitter leur territoire. (Ⅱ)
- καὶ ἰδοὺ πᾶσα ἡ πόλις ἐξῆλθεν εἰς ⸀ὑπάντησιν τῷ Ἰησοῦ, καὶ ἰδόντες αὐτὸν παρεκάλεσαν ὅπως μεταβῇ ἀπὸ τῶν ὁρίων αὐτῶν. (Ⅲ)
- Et ecce tota civitas exiit obviam Jesu : et viso eo, rogabant ut transiret a finibus eorum. (Ⅳ)
