7. 1  
Now when he had ended all his sayings in the audience of the people, he entered into Capernaum.
- Après avoir achevé tous ces discours devant le peuple qui l'écoutait, Jésus entra dans Capernaüm. (Ⅱ)
- ⸀Ἐπειδὴ ἐπλήρωσεν πάντα τὰ ῥήματα αὐτοῦ εἰς τὰς ἀκοὰς τοῦ λαοῦ, εἰσῆλθεν εἰς Καφαρναούμ. (Ⅲ)
- Cum autem implesset omnia verba sua in aures plebis, intravit Capharnaum. (Ⅳ)
7. 2  
And a certain centurion's servant, who was dear unto him, was sick, and ready to die.
- Un centenier avait un serviteur auquel il était très attaché, et qui se trouvait malade, sur le point de mourir. (Ⅱ)
- Ἑκατοντάρχου δέ τινος δοῦλος κακῶς ἔχων ἤμελλεν τελευτᾶν, ὃς ἦν αὐτῷ ἔντιμος. (Ⅲ)
- Centurionis autem cujusdam servus male habens, erat moriturus : qui illi erat pretiosus. (Ⅳ)
7. 3  
And when he heard of Jesus, he sent unto him the elders of the Jews, beseeching him that he would come and heal his servant.
- Ayant entendu parler de Jésus, il lui envoya quelques anciens des Juifs, pour le prier de venir guérir son serviteur. (Ⅱ)
- ἀκούσας δὲ περὶ τοῦ Ἰησοῦ ἀπέστειλεν πρὸς αὐτὸν πρεσβυτέρους τῶν Ἰουδαίων, ἐρωτῶν αὐτὸν ὅπως ἐλθὼν διασώσῃ τὸν δοῦλον αὐτοῦ. (Ⅲ)
- Et cum audisset de Jesu, misit ad eum seniores Judæorum, rogans eum ut veniret et salvaret servum ejus. (Ⅳ)
7. 4  
And when they came to Jesus, they besought him instantly, saying, That he was worthy for whom he should do this:
- Ils arrivèrent auprès de Jésus, et lui adressèrent d'instantes supplications, disant: Il mérite que tu lui accordes cela; (Ⅱ)
- οἱ δὲ παραγενόμενοι πρὸς τὸν Ἰησοῦν παρεκάλουν αὐτὸν σπουδαίως λέγοντες ὅτι Ἄξιός ἐστιν ᾧ ⸀παρέξῃ τοῦτο, (Ⅲ)
- At illi cum venissent ad Jesum, rogabant eum sollicite, dicentes ei : Quia dignus est ut hoc illi præstes : (Ⅳ)
7. 5  
For he loveth our nation, and he hath built us a synagogue.
- car il aime notre nation, et c'est lui qui a bâti notre synagogue. (Ⅱ)
- ἀγαπᾷ γὰρ τὸ ἔθνος ἡμῶν καὶ τὴν συναγωγὴν αὐτὸς ᾠκοδόμησεν ἡμῖν. (Ⅲ)
- diligit enim gentem nostram, et synagogam ipse ædificavit nobis. (Ⅳ)
7. 6  
Then Jesus went with them. And when he was now not far from the house, the centurion sent friends to him, saying unto him, Lord, trouble not thyself: for I am not worthy that thou shouldest enter under my roof:
- Jésus, étant allé avec eux, n'était guère éloigné de la maison, quand le centenier envoya des amis pour lui dire: Seigneur, ne prends pas tant de peine; car je ne suis pas digne que tu entres sous mon toit. (Ⅱ)
- ὁ δὲ Ἰησοῦς ἐπορεύετο σὺν αὐτοῖς. ἤδη δὲ αὐτοῦ οὐ μακρὰν ἀπέχοντος ἀπὸ τῆς οἰκίας ἔπεμψεν ⸂φίλους ὁ ἑκατοντάρχης⸃ λέγων αὐτῷ· Κύριε, μὴ σκύλλου, οὐ γὰρ ⸂ἱκανός εἰμι⸃ ἵνα ὑπὸ τὴν στέγην μου εἰσέλθῃς· (Ⅲ)
- Jesus autem ibat cum illis. Et cum jam non longe esset a domo, misit ad eum centurio amicos, dicens : Domine, noli vexari : non enim sum dignus ut sub tectum meum intres : (Ⅳ)
7. 7  
Wherefore neither thought I myself worthy to come unto thee: but say in a word, and my servant shall be healed.
- C'est aussi pour cela que je ne me suis pas cru digne d'aller en personne vers toi. Mais dis un mot, et mon serviteur sera guéri. (Ⅱ)
- διὸ οὐδὲ ἐμαυτὸν ἠξίωσα πρὸς σὲ ἐλθεῖν· ἀλλὰ εἰπὲ λόγῳ, καὶ ⸀ἰαθήτω ὁ παῖς μου· (Ⅲ)
- propter quod et meipsum non sum dignum arbitratus ut venirem ad te : sed dic verbo, et sanabitur puer meus. (Ⅳ)
7. 8  
For I also am a man set under authority, having under me soldiers, and I say unto one, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it.
- Car, moi qui suis soumis à des supérieurs, j'ai des soldats sous mes ordres; et je dis à l'un: Va! et il va; à l'autre: Viens! et il vient; et à mon serviteur: Fais cela! et il le fait. (Ⅱ)
- καὶ γὰρ ἐγὼ ἄνθρωπός εἰμι ὑπὸ ἐξουσίαν τασσόμενος, ἔχων ὑπ’ ἐμαυτὸν στρατιώτας, καὶ λέγω τούτῳ· Πορεύθητι, καὶ πορεύεται, καὶ ἄλλῳ· Ἔρχου, καὶ ἔρχεται, καὶ τῷ δούλῳ μου· Ποίησον τοῦτο, καὶ ποιεῖ. (Ⅲ)
- Nam et ego homo sum sub potestate constitutus, habens sub me milites : et dico huic, Vade, et vadit : et alii, Veni, et venit : et servo meo, Fac hoc, et facit. (Ⅳ)
7. 9  
When Jesus heard these things, he marvelled at him, and turned him about, and said unto the people that followed him, I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.
- Lorsque Jésus entendit ces paroles, il admira le centenier, et, se tournant vers la foule qui le suivait, il dit: Je vous le dis, même en Israël je n'ai pas trouvé une aussi grande foi. (Ⅱ)
- ἀκούσας δὲ ταῦτα ὁ Ἰησοῦς ἐθαύμασεν αὐτόν, καὶ στραφεὶς τῷ ἀκολουθοῦντι αὐτῷ ὄχλῳ εἶπεν· Λέγω ὑμῖν, ⸀οὐδὲ ἐν τῷ Ἰσραὴλ τοσαύτην πίστιν εὗρον. (Ⅲ)
- Quo audito Jesus miratus est : et conversus sequentibus se turbis, dixit : Amen dico vobis, nec in Israël tantam fidem inveni. (Ⅳ)
7. 10  
And they that were sent, returning to the house, found the servant whole that had been sick.
- De retour à la maison, les gens envoyés par le centenier trouvèrent guéri le serviteur qui avait été malade. (Ⅱ)
- καὶ ὑποστρέψαντες ⸂εἰς τὸν οἶκον οἱ πεμφθέντες⸃ εὗρον ⸀τὸν δοῦλον ὑγιαίνοντα. (Ⅲ)
- Et reversi, qui missi fuerant, domum, invenerunt servum, qui languerat, sanum.\ (Ⅳ)
7. 11  
And it came to pass the day after, that he went into a city called Nain; and many of his disciples went with him, and much people.
- Le jour suivant, Jésus alla dans une ville appelée Naïn; ses disciples et une grande foule faisaient route avec lui. (Ⅱ)
- Καὶ ἐγένετο ἐν τῷ ἑξῆς ⸀ἐπορεύθη εἰς πόλιν καλουμένην Ναΐν, καὶ συνεπορεύοντο αὐτῷ οἱ μαθηταὶ ⸀αὐτοῦ καὶ ὄχλος πολύς. (Ⅲ)
- Et factum est : deinceps ibat in civitatem quæ vocatur Naim : et ibant cum eo discipuli ejus et turba copiosa. (Ⅳ)
7. 12  
Now when he came nigh to the gate of the city, behold, there was a dead man carried out, the only son of his mother, and she was a widow: and much people of the city was with her.
- Lorsqu'il fut près de la porte de la ville, voici, on portait en terre un mort, fils unique de sa mère, qui était veuve; et il y avait avec elle beaucoup de gens de la ville. (Ⅱ)
- ὡς δὲ ἤγγισεν τῇ πύλῃ τῆς πόλεως, καὶ ἰδοὺ ἐξεκομίζετο τεθνηκὼς ⸂μονογενὴς υἱὸς⸃ τῇ μητρὶ αὐτοῦ, καὶ αὐτὴ ⸀ἦν χήρα, καὶ ὄχλος τῆς πόλεως ἱκανὸς ⸁ἦν σὺν αὐτῇ. (Ⅲ)
- Cum autem appropinquaret portæ civitatis, ecce defunctus efferebatur filius unicus matris suæ : et hæc vidua erat : et turba civitatis multa cum illa. (Ⅳ)
7. 13  
And when the Lord saw her, he had compassion on her, and said unto her, Weep not.
- Le Seigneur, l'ayant vue, fut ému de compassion pour elle, et lui dit: Ne pleure pas! (Ⅱ)
- καὶ ἰδὼν αὐτὴν ὁ κύριος ἐσπλαγχνίσθη ἐπ’ αὐτῇ καὶ εἶπεν αὐτῇ· Μὴ κλαῖε. (Ⅲ)
- Quam cum vidisset Dominus, misericordia motus super eam, dixit illi : Noli flere. (Ⅳ)
7. 14  
And he came and touched the bier: and they that bare him stood still. And he said, Young man, I say unto thee, Arise.
- Il s'approcha, et toucha le cercueil. Ceux qui le portaient s'arrêtèrent. Il dit: Jeune homme, je te le dis, lève-toi! (Ⅱ)
- καὶ προσελθὼν ἥψατο τῆς σοροῦ, οἱ δὲ βαστάζοντες ἔστησαν, καὶ εἶπεν· Νεανίσκε, σοὶ λέγω, ἐγέρθητι. (Ⅲ)
- Et accessit, et tetigit loculum. (Hi autem qui portabant, steterunt.) Et ait : Adolescens, tibi dico, surge. (Ⅳ)
7. 15  
And he that was dead sat up, and began to speak. And he delivered him to his mother.
- Et le mort s'assit, et se mit à parler. Jésus le rendit à sa mère. (Ⅱ)
- καὶ ἀνεκάθισεν ὁ νεκρὸς καὶ ἤρξατο λαλεῖν, καὶ ἔδωκεν αὐτὸν τῇ μητρὶ αὐτοῦ. (Ⅲ)
- Et resedit qui erat mortuus, et cœpit loqui. Et dedit illum matri suæ. (Ⅳ)
7. 16  
And there came a fear on all: and they glorified God, saying, That a great prophet is risen up among us; and, That God hath visited his people.
- Tous furent saisis de crainte, et ils glorifiaient Dieu, disant: Un grand prophète a paru parmi nous, et Dieu a visité son peuple. (Ⅱ)
- ἔλαβεν δὲ φόβος πάντας, καὶ ἐδόξαζον τὸν θεὸν λέγοντες ὅτι Προφήτης μέγας ⸀ἠγέρθη ἐν ἡμῖν, καὶ ὅτι Ἐπεσκέψατο ὁ θεὸς τὸν λαὸν αὐτοῦ. (Ⅲ)
- Accepit autem omnes timor : et magnificabant Deum, dicentes : Quia propheta magnus surrexit in nobis : et quia Deus visitavit plebem suam. (Ⅳ)
7. 17  
And this rumour of him went forth throughout all Judaea, and throughout all the region round about.
- Cette parole sur Jésus se répandit dans toute la Judée et dans tout le pays d'alentour. (Ⅱ)
- καὶ ἐξῆλθεν ὁ λόγος οὗτος ἐν ὅλῃ τῇ Ἰουδαίᾳ περὶ αὐτοῦ ⸀καὶ πάσῃ τῇ περιχώρῳ. (Ⅲ)
- Et exiit hic sermo in universam Judæam de eo, et in omnem circa regionem.\ (Ⅳ)
7. 18  
And the disciples of John shewed him of all these things.
- Jean fut informé de toutes ces choses par ses disciples. (Ⅱ)
- Καὶ ἀπήγγειλαν Ἰωάννῃ οἱ μαθηταὶ αὐτοῦ περὶ πάντων τούτων. καὶ προσκαλεσάμενος δύο τινὰς τῶν μαθητῶν αὐτοῦ ὁ Ἰωάννης (Ⅲ)
- Et nuntiaverunt Joanni discipuli ejus de omnibus his. (Ⅳ)
7. 19  
And John calling unto him two of his disciples sent them to Jesus, saying, Art thou he that should come? or look we for another?
- Il en appela deux, et les envoya vers Jésus, pour lui dire: Es-tu celui qui doit venir, ou devons-nous en attendre un autre? (Ⅱ)
- ἔπεμψεν πρὸς τὸν ⸀κύριον λέγων· Σὺ εἶ ὁ ἐρχόμενος ἢ ⸀ἄλλον προσδοκῶμεν; (Ⅲ)
- Et convocavit duos de discipulis suis Joannes, et misit ad Jesum, dicens : Tu es qui venturus es, an alium exspectamus ? (Ⅳ)
7. 20  
When the men were come unto him, they said, John Baptist hath sent us unto thee, saying, Art thou he that should come? or look we for another?
- Arrivés auprès de Jésus, ils dirent: Jean Baptiste nous a envoyés vers toi, pour dire: Es-tu celui qui doit venir, ou devons-nous en attendre un autre? (Ⅱ)
- παραγενόμενοι δὲ πρὸς αὐτὸν οἱ ἄνδρες εἶπαν· Ἰωάννης ὁ βαπτιστὴς ⸀ἀπέστειλεν ἡμᾶς πρὸς σὲ λέγων· Σὺ εἶ ὁ ἐρχόμενος ἢ ἄλλον προσδοκῶμεν; (Ⅲ)
- Cum autem venissent ad eum viri, dixerunt : Joannes Baptista misit nos ad te dicens : Tu es qui venturus es, an alium exspectamus ? (Ⅳ)
7. 21  
And in that same hour he cured many of their infirmities and plagues, and of evil spirits; and unto many that were blind he gave sight.
- A l'heure même, Jésus guérit plusieurs personnes de maladies, d'infirmités, et d'esprits malins, et il rendit la vue à plusieurs aveugles. (Ⅱ)
- ἐν ⸀ἐκείνῃ τῇ ὥρᾳ ἐθεράπευσεν πολλοὺς ἀπὸ νόσων καὶ μαστίγων καὶ πνευμάτων πονηρῶν, καὶ τυφλοῖς πολλοῖς ⸀ἐχαρίσατο βλέπειν. (Ⅲ)
- (In ipsa autem hora multos curavit a languoribus, et plagis, et spiritibus malis, et cæcis multis donavit visum.) (Ⅳ)
7. 22  
Then Jesus answering said unto them, Go your way, and tell John what things ye have seen and heard; how that the blind see, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, to the poor the gospel is preached.
- Et il leur répondit: Allez rapporter à Jean ce que vous avez vu et entendu: les aveugles voient, les boiteux marchent, les lépreux sont purifiés, les sourds entendent, les morts ressuscitent, la bonne nouvelle est annoncée aux pauvres. (Ⅱ)
- καὶ ⸀ἀποκριθεὶς εἶπεν αὐτοῖς· Πορευθέντες ἀπαγγείλατε Ἰωάννῃ ἃ εἴδετε καὶ ἠκούσατε· ⸀τυφλοὶ ἀναβλέπουσιν, χωλοὶ περιπατοῦσιν, λεπροὶ καθαρίζονται, ⸀κωφοὶ ἀκούουσιν, νεκροὶ ἐγείρονται, πτωχοὶ εὐαγγελίζονται· (Ⅲ)
- Et respondens, dixit illis : Euntes renuntiate Joanni quæ audistis et vidistis : quia cæci vident, claudi ambulant, leprosi mundantur, surdi audiunt, mortui resurgunt, pauperes evangelizantur : (Ⅳ)
7. 23  
And blessed is he, whosoever shall not be offended in me.
- Heureux celui pour qui je ne serai pas une occasion de chute! (Ⅱ)
- καὶ μακάριός ἐστιν ὃς ἐὰν μὴ σκανδαλισθῇ ἐν ἐμοί. (Ⅲ)
- et beatus est quicumque non fuerit scandalizatus in me.\ (Ⅳ)
7. 24  
And when the messengers of John were departed, he began to speak unto the people concerning John, What went ye out into the wilderness for to see? A reed shaken with the wind?
- Lorsque les envoyés de Jean furent partis, Jésus se mit à dire à la foule, au sujet de Jean: Qu'êtes-vous allés voir au désert? un roseau agité par le vent? (Ⅱ)
- Ἀπελθόντων δὲ τῶν ἀγγέλων Ἰωάννου ἤρξατο λέγειν ⸂πρὸς τοὺς ὄχλους⸃ περὶ Ἰωάννου· Τί ⸀ἐξήλθατε εἰς τὴν ἔρημον θεάσασθαι; κάλαμον ὑπὸ ἀνέμου σαλευόμενον; (Ⅲ)
- Et cum discessissent nuntii Joannis, cœpit de Joanne dicere ad turbas : Quid existis in desertum videre ? arundinem vento agitatam ? (Ⅳ)
7. 25  
But what went ye out for to see? A man clothed in soft raiment? Behold, they which are gorgeously apparelled, and live delicately, are in kings' courts.
- Mais, qu'êtes-vous allés voir? un homme vêtu d'habits précieux? Voici, ceux qui portent des habits magnifiques, et qui vivent dans les délices, sont dans les maisons des rois. (Ⅱ)
- ἀλλὰ τί ⸀ἐξήλθατε ἰδεῖν; ἄνθρωπον ἐν μαλακοῖς ἱματίοις ἠμφιεσμένον; ἰδοὺ οἱ ἐν ἱματισμῷ ἐνδόξῳ καὶ τρυφῇ ὑπάρχοντες ἐν τοῖς βασιλείοις εἰσίν. (Ⅲ)
- Sed quid existis videre ? hominem mollibus vestibus indutum ? Ecce qui in veste pretiosa sunt et deliciis, in domibus regum sunt. (Ⅳ)
7. 26  
But what went ye out for to see? A prophet? Yea, I say unto you, and much more than a prophet.
- Qu'êtes-vous donc allés voir? un prophète? Oui, vous dis-je, et plus qu'un prophète. (Ⅱ)
- ἀλλὰ τί ⸀ἐξήλθατε ἰδεῖν; προφήτην; ναί, λέγω ὑμῖν, καὶ περισσότερον προφήτου. (Ⅲ)
- Sed quid existis videre ? prophetam ? Utique dico vobis, et plus quam prophetam : (Ⅳ)
7. 27  
This is he, of whom it is written, Behold, I send my messenger before thy face, which shall prepare thy way before thee.
- C'est celui dont il est écrit: Voici, j'envoie mon messager devant ta face, Pour préparer ton chemin devant toi. (Ⅱ)
- οὗτός ἐστιν περὶ οὗ γέγραπται· ⸀Ἰδοὺ ἀποστέλλω τὸν ἄγγελόν μου πρὸ προσώπου σου, ὃς κατασκευάσει τὴν ὁδόν σου ἔμπροσθέν σου. (Ⅲ)
- hic est, de quo scriptum est : Ecce mitto angelum meum ante faciem tuam, qui præparabit viam tuam ante te. (Ⅳ)
7. 28  
For I say unto you, Among those that are born of women there is not a greater prophet than John the Baptist: but he that is least in the kingdom of God is greater than he.
- Je vous le dis, parmi ceux qui sont nés de femmes, il n'y en a point de plus grand que Jean. Cependant, le plus petit dans le royaume de Dieu est plus grand que lui. (Ⅱ)
- ⸀λέγω ὑμῖν, μείζων ἐν γεννητοῖς γυναικῶν ⸀Ἰωάννου οὐδείς ἐστιν· ὁ δὲ μικρότερος ἐν τῇ βασιλείᾳ τοῦ θεοῦ μείζων αὐτοῦ ἐστιν. (Ⅲ)
- Dico enim vobis : major inter natos mulierum propheta Joanne Baptista nemo est : qui autem minor est in regno Dei, major est illo.\ (Ⅳ)
7. 29  
And all the people that heard him, and the publicans, justified God, being baptized with the baptism of John.
- Et tout le peuple qui l'a entendu et même les publicains ont justifié Dieu, en se faisant baptiser du baptême de Jean; (Ⅱ)
- (καὶ πᾶς ὁ λαὸς ἀκούσας καὶ οἱ τελῶναι ἐδικαίωσαν τὸν θεόν, βαπτισθέντες τὸ βάπτισμα Ἰωάννου· (Ⅲ)
- Et omnis populus audiens et publicani, justificaverunt Deum, baptizati baptismo Joannis. (Ⅳ)
7. 30  
But the Pharisees and lawyers rejected the counsel of God against themselves, being not baptized of him.
- mais les pharisiens et les docteurs de la loi, en ne se faisant pas baptiser par lui, ont rendu nul à leur égard le dessein de Dieu. (Ⅱ)
- οἱ δὲ Φαρισαῖοι καὶ οἱ νομικοὶ τὴν βουλὴν τοῦ θεοῦ ἠθέτησαν εἰς ἑαυτούς, μὴ βαπτισθέντες ὑπ’ αὐτοῦ.) (Ⅲ)
- Pharisæi autem et legisperiti consilium Dei spreverunt in semetipsos, non baptizati ab eo. (Ⅳ)
7. 31  
And the Lord said, Whereunto then shall I liken the men of this generation? and to what are they like?
- A qui donc comparerai-je les hommes de cette génération, et à qui ressemblent-ils? (Ⅱ)
- Τίνι οὖν ὁμοιώσω τοὺς ἀνθρώπους τῆς γενεᾶς ταύτης, καὶ τίνι εἰσὶν ὅμοιοι; (Ⅲ)
- Ait autem Dominus : Cui ergo similes dicam homines generationis hujus ? et cui similes sunt ? (Ⅳ)
7. 32  
They are like unto children sitting in the marketplace, and calling one to another, and saying, We have piped unto you, and ye have not danced; we have mourned to you, and ye have not wept.
- Ils ressemblent aux enfants assis dans la place publique, et qui, se parlant les uns aux autres, disent: Nous vous avons joué de la flûte, et vous n'avez pas dansé; nous vous avons chanté des complaintes, et vous n'avez pas pleuré. (Ⅱ)
- ὅμοιοί εἰσιν παιδίοις τοῖς ἐν ἀγορᾷ καθημένοις καὶ προσφωνοῦσιν ἀλλήλοις, ⸂ἃ λέγει⸃· Ηὐλήσαμεν ὑμῖν καὶ οὐκ ὠρχήσασθε· ⸀ἐθρηνήσαμεν καὶ οὐκ ἐκλαύσατε· (Ⅲ)
- Similes sunt pueris sedentibus in foro, et loquentibus ad invicem, et dicentibus : Cantavimus vobis tibiis, et non saltastis : lamentavimus, et non plorastis. (Ⅳ)
7. 33  
For John the Baptist came neither eating bread nor drinking wine; and ye say, He hath a devil.
- Car Jean Baptiste est venu, ne mangeant pas de pain et ne buvant pas de vin, et vous dites: Il a un démon. (Ⅱ)
- ἐλήλυθεν γὰρ Ἰωάννης ὁ βαπτιστὴς ⸀μὴ ⸂ἐσθίων ἄρτον μήτε πίνων οἶνον⸃, καὶ λέγετε· Δαιμόνιον ἔχει· (Ⅲ)
- Venit enim Joannes Baptista, neque manducans panem, neque bibens vinum, et dicitis : Dæmonium habet. (Ⅳ)
7. 34  
The Son of man is come eating and drinking; and ye say, Behold a gluttonous man, and a winebibber, a friend of publicans and sinners!
- Le Fils de l'homme est venu, mangeant et buvant, et vous dites: C'est un mangeur et un buveur, un ami des publicains et des gens de mauvaise vie. (Ⅱ)

- Venit Filius hominis manducans, et bibens, et dicitis : Ecce homo devorator, et bibens vinum, amicus publicanorum et peccatorum. (Ⅳ)

But wisdom is justified of all her children.

And one of the Pharisees desired him that he would eat with him. And he went into the Pharisee's house, and sat down to meat.

- Rogabat autem illum quidam de pharisæis ut manducaret cum illo. Et ingressus domum pharisæi discubuit. (Ⅳ)
7. 37  
And, behold, a woman in the city, which was a sinner, when she knew that Jesus sat at meat in the Pharisee's house, brought an alabaster box of ointment,
- Et voici, une femme pécheresse qui se trouvait dans la ville, ayant su qu'il était à table dans la maison du pharisien, apporta un vase d'albâtre plein de parfum, (Ⅱ)
- καὶ ἰδοὺ γυνὴ ⸂ἥτις ἦν ἐν τῇ πόλει⸃ ἁμαρτωλός, ⸀καὶ ἐπιγνοῦσα ὅτι ⸀κατάκειται ἐν τῇ οἰκίᾳ τοῦ Φαρισαίου, κομίσασα ἀλάβαστρον μύρου (Ⅲ)
- Et ecce mulier, quæ erat in civitate peccatrix, ut cognovit quod accubuisset in domo pharisæi, attulit alabastrum unguenti : (Ⅳ)
7. 38  
And stood at his feet behind him weeping, and began to wash his feet with tears, and did wipe them with the hairs of her head, and kissed his feet, and anointed them with the ointment.
- et se tint derrière, aux pieds de Jésus. Elle pleurait; et bientôt elle lui mouilla les pieds de ses larmes, puis les essuya avec ses cheveux, les baisa, et les oignit de parfum. (Ⅱ)
- καὶ στᾶσα ⸂ὀπίσω παρὰ τοὺς πόδας αὐτοῦ⸃ κλαίουσα, ⸂τοῖς δάκρυσιν ἤρξατο βρέχειν τοὺς πόδας αὐτοῦ⸃ καὶ ταῖς θριξὶν τῆς κεφαλῆς αὐτῆς ἐξέμασσεν, καὶ κατεφίλει τοὺς πόδας αὐτοῦ καὶ ἤλειφεν τῷ μύρῳ. (Ⅲ)
- et stans retro secus pedes ejus, lacrimis cœpit rigare pedes ejus, et capillis capitis sui tergebat, et osculabatur pedes ejus, et unguento ungebat. (Ⅳ)
7. 39  
Now when the Pharisee which had bidden him saw it, he spake within himself, saying, This man, if he were a prophet, would have known who and what manner of woman this is that toucheth him: for she is a sinner.
- Le pharisien qui l'avait invité, voyant cela, dit en lui-même: Si cet homme était prophète, il connaîtrait qui et de quelle espèce est la femme qui le touche, il connaîtrait que c'est une pécheresse. (Ⅱ)
- ἰδὼν δὲ ὁ Φαρισαῖος ὁ καλέσας αὐτὸν εἶπεν ἐν ἑαυτῷ λέγων· Οὗτος εἰ ⸀ἦν προφήτης, ἐγίνωσκεν ἂν τίς καὶ ποταπὴ ἡ γυνὴ ἥτις ἅπτεται αὐτοῦ, ὅτι ἁμαρτωλός ἐστιν. (Ⅲ)
- Videns autem pharisæus, qui vocaverat eum, ait intra se dicens : Hic si esset propheta, sciret utique quæ et qualis est mulier, quæ tangit eum : quia peccatrix est. (Ⅳ)
7. 40  
And Jesus answering said unto him, Simon, I have somewhat to say unto thee. And he saith, Master, say on.

There was a certain creditor which had two debtors: the one owed five hundred pence, and the other fifty.
- Un créancier avait deux débiteurs: l'un devait cinq cents deniers, et l'autre cinquante. (Ⅱ)
- δύο χρεοφειλέται ἦσαν δανιστῇ τινι· ὁ εἷς ὤφειλεν δηνάρια πεντακόσια, ὁ δὲ ἕτερος πεντήκοντα. (Ⅲ)
- Duo debitores erant cuidam fœneratori : unus debebat denarios quingentos, et alius quinquaginta. (Ⅳ)
7. 42  
And when they had nothing to pay, he frankly forgave them both. Tell me therefore, which of them will love him most?
- Comme ils n'avaient pas de quoi payer, il leur remit à tous deux leur dette. Lequel l'aimera le plus? (Ⅱ)
- μὴ ⸀ἐχόντων αὐτῶν ἀποδοῦναι ἀμφοτέροις ἐχαρίσατο. τίς οὖν ⸀αὐτῶν πλεῖον ⸂ἀγαπήσει αὐτόν⸃; (Ⅲ)
- Non habentibus illis unde redderent, donavit utrisque. Quis ergo eum plus diligit ? (Ⅳ)
7. 43  
Simon answered and said, I suppose that he, to whom he forgave most. And he said unto him, Thou hast rightly judged.
- Simon répondit: Celui, je pense, auquel il a le plus remis. Jésus lui dit: Tu as bien jugé. (Ⅱ)
- ⸀ἀποκριθεὶς Σίμων εἶπεν· Ὑπολαμβάνω ὅτι ᾧ τὸ πλεῖον ἐχαρίσατο. ὁ δὲ εἶπεν αὐτῷ· Ὀρθῶς ἔκρινας. (Ⅲ)
- Respondens Simon dixit : Æstimo quia is cui plus donavit. At ille dixit ei : Recte judicasti. (Ⅳ)
7. 44  
And he turned to the woman, and said unto Simon, Seest thou this woman? I entered into thine house, thou gavest me no water for my feet: but she hath washed my feet with tears, and wiped them with the hairs of her head.
- Puis, se tournant vers la femme, il dit à Simon: Vois-tu cette femme? Je suis entré dans ta maison, et tu ne m'as point donné d'eau pour laver mes pieds; mais elle, elle les a mouillés de ses larmes, et les a essuyés avec ses cheveux. (Ⅱ)
- καὶ στραφεὶς πρὸς τὴν γυναῖκα τῷ Σίμωνι ἔφη· Βλέπεις ταύτην τὴν γυναῖκα; εἰσῆλθόν σου εἰς τὴν οἰκίαν, ὕδωρ ⸀μοι ἐπὶ ⸀πόδας οὐκ ἔδωκας· αὕτη δὲ τοῖς δάκρυσιν ἔβρεξέν μου τοὺς πόδας καὶ ταῖς ⸀θριξὶν αὐτῆς ἐξέμαξεν. (Ⅲ)
- Et conversus ad mulierem, dixit Simoni : Vides hanc mulierem ? Intravi in domum tuam, aquam pedibus meis non dedisti : hæc autem lacrimis rigavit pedes meos, et capillis suis tersit. (Ⅳ)
7. 45  
Thou gavest me no kiss: but this woman since the time I came in hath not ceased to kiss my feet.
- Tu ne m'as point donné de baiser; mais elle, depuis que je suis entré, elle n'a point cessé de me baiser les pieds. (Ⅱ)
- φίλημά μοι οὐκ ἔδωκας· αὕτη δὲ ἀφ’ ἧς εἰσῆλθον οὐ διέλιπεν καταφιλοῦσά μου τοὺς πόδας. (Ⅲ)
- Osculum mihi non dedisti : hæc autem ex quo intravit, non cessavit osculari pedes meos. (Ⅳ)
7. 46  
My head with oil thou didst not anoint: but this woman hath anointed my feet with ointment.
- Tu n'as point versé d'huile sur ma tête; mais elle, elle a versé du parfum sur mes pieds. (Ⅱ)
- ἐλαίῳ τὴν κεφαλήν μου οὐκ ἤλειψας· αὕτη δὲ μύρῳ ἤλειψεν ⸂τοὺς πόδας μου⸃. (Ⅲ)
- Oleo caput meum non unxisti : hæc autem unguento unxit pedes meos. (Ⅳ)
7. 47  
Wherefore I say unto thee, Her sins, which are many, are forgiven; for she loved much: but to whom little is forgiven, the same loveth little.
- C'est pourquoi, je te le dis, ses nombreux péchés ont été pardonnés: car elle a beaucoup aimé. Mais celui à qui on pardonne peu aime peu. (Ⅱ)
- οὗ χάριν, λέγω σοι, ἀφέωνται αἱ ἁμαρτίαι αὐτῆς αἱ πολλαί, ὅτι ἠγάπησεν πολύ· ᾧ δὲ ὀλίγον ἀφίεται, ὀλίγον ἀγαπᾷ. (Ⅲ)
- Propter quod dico tibi : remittuntur ei peccata multa, quoniam dilexit multum. Cui autem minus dimittitur, minus diligit. (Ⅳ)
7. 48  
And he said unto her, Thy sins are forgiven.
- Et il dit à la femme: Tes péchés sont pardonnés. (Ⅱ)
- εἶπεν δὲ αὐτῇ· Ἀφέωνταί σου αἱ ἁμαρτίαι. (Ⅲ)
- Dixit autem ad illam : Remittuntur tibi peccata. (Ⅳ)
7. 49  
And they that sat at meat with him began to say within themselves, Who is this that forgiveth sins also?
- Ceux qui étaient à table avec lui se mirent à dire en eux-mêmes: Qui est celui-ci, qui pardonne même les péchés? (Ⅱ)
- καὶ ἤρξαντο οἱ συνανακείμενοι λέγειν ἐν ἑαυτοῖς· Τίς οὗτός ἐστιν ὃς καὶ ἁμαρτίας ἀφίησιν; (Ⅲ)
- Et cœperunt qui simul accumbebant, dicere intra se : Quis est hic qui etiam peccata dimittit ? (Ⅳ)
7. 50  
And he said to the woman, Thy faith hath saved thee; go in peace.
- Mais Jésus dit à la femme: Ta foi t'a sauvée, va en paix. (Ⅱ)
- εἶπεν δὲ πρὸς τὴν γυναῖκα· Ἡ πίστις σου σέσωκέν σε· πορεύου εἰς εἰρήνην. (Ⅲ)
- Dixit autem ad mulierem : Fides tua te salvam fecit : vade in pace. (Ⅳ)
