7. 1  
After these things Jesus walked in Galilee: for he would not walk in Jewry, because the Jews sought to kill him.
- Après cela, Jésus parcourait la Galilée, car il ne voulait pas séjourner en Judée, parce que les Juifs cherchaient à le faire mourir. (Ⅱ)
- Καὶ ⸂μετὰ ταῦτα περιεπάτει ὁ Ἰησοῦς⸃ ἐν τῇ Γαλιλαίᾳ, οὐ γὰρ ἤθελεν ἐν τῇ Ἰουδαίᾳ περιπατεῖν, ὅτι ἐζήτουν αὐτὸν οἱ Ἰουδαῖοι ἀποκτεῖναι. (Ⅲ)
- Post hæc autem ambulabat Jesus in Galilæam : non enim volebat in Judæam ambulare, quia quærebant eum Judæi interficere. (Ⅳ)
7. 2  
Now the Jew's feast of tabernacles was at hand.
- Or, la fête des Juifs, la fête des Tabernacles, était proche. (Ⅱ)
- ἦν δὲ ἐγγὺς ἡ ἑορτὴ τῶν Ἰουδαίων ἡ σκηνοπηγία. (Ⅲ)
- Erat autem in proximo dies festus Judæorum, Scenopegia. (Ⅳ)
7. 3  
His brethren therefore said unto him, Depart hence, and go into Judaea, that thy disciples also may see the works that thou doest.
- Et ses frères lui dirent: Pars d'ici, et va en Judée, afin que tes disciples voient aussi les oeuvres que tu fais. (Ⅱ)
- εἶπον οὖν πρὸς αὐτὸν οἱ ἀδελφοὶ αὐτοῦ· Μετάβηθι ἐντεῦθεν καὶ ὕπαγε εἰς τὴν Ἰουδαίαν, ἵνα καὶ οἱ μαθηταί σου ⸀θεωρήσουσιν ⸂σοῦ τὰ ἔργα⸃ ἃ ποιεῖς· (Ⅲ)
- Dixerunt autem ad eum fratres ejus : Transi hinc, et vade in Judæam, ut et discipuli tui videant opera tua, quæ facis. (Ⅳ)
7. 4  
For there is no man that doeth any thing in secret, and he himself seeketh to be known openly. If thou do these things, shew thyself to the world.
- Personne n'agit en secret, lorsqu'il désire paraître: si tu fais ces choses, montre-toi toi-même au monde. (Ⅱ)
- οὐδεὶς γάρ ⸂τι ἐν κρυπτῷ⸃ ποιεῖ καὶ ζητεῖ αὐτὸς ἐν παρρησίᾳ εἶναι· εἰ ταῦτα ποιεῖς, φανέρωσον σεαυτὸν τῷ κόσμῳ. (Ⅲ)
- Nemo quippe in occulto quid facit, et quærit ipse in palam esse : si hæc facis, manifesta teipsum mundo. (Ⅳ)
7. 5  
For neither did his brethren believe in him.
- Car ses frères non plus ne croyaient pas en lui. (Ⅱ)
- οὐδὲ γὰρ οἱ ἀδελφοὶ αὐτοῦ ἐπίστευον εἰς αὐτόν. (Ⅲ)
- Neque enim fratres ejus credebant in eum. (Ⅳ)
7. 6  
Then Jesus said unto them, My time is not yet come: but your time is alway ready.
- Jésus leur dit: Mon temps n'est pas encore venu, mais votre temps est toujours prêt. (Ⅱ)
- λέγει οὖν αὐτοῖς ὁ Ἰησοῦς· Ὁ καιρὸς ὁ ἐμὸς οὔπω πάρεστιν, ὁ δὲ καιρὸς ὁ ὑμέτερος πάντοτέ ἐστιν ἕτοιμος. (Ⅲ)
- Dicit ergo eis Jesus : Tempus meum nondum advenit : tempus autem vestrum semper est paratum. (Ⅳ)
7. 7  
The world cannot hate you; but me it hateth, because I testify of it, that the works thereof are evil.
- Le monde ne peut vous haïr; moi, il me hait, parce que je rends de lui le témoignage que ses oeuvres sont mauvaises. (Ⅱ)
- οὐ δύναται ὁ κόσμος μισεῖν ὑμᾶς, ἐμὲ δὲ μισεῖ, ὅτι ἐγὼ μαρτυρῶ περὶ αὐτοῦ ὅτι τὰ ἔργα αὐτοῦ πονηρά ἐστιν. (Ⅲ)
- Non potest mundus odisse vos : me autem odit, quia ego testimonium perhibeo de illo quod opera ejus mala sunt. (Ⅳ)
7. 8  
Go ye up unto this feast: I go not up yet unto this feast: for my time is not yet full come.
- Montez, vous, à cette fête; pour moi, je n'y monte point, parce que mon temps n'est pas encore accompli. (Ⅱ)
- ὑμεῖς ἀνάβητε εἰς τὴν ⸀ἑορτήν· ἐγὼ ⸀οὐκ ἀναβαίνω εἰς τὴν ἑορτὴν ταύτην, ὅτι ὁ ⸂ἐμὸς καιρὸς⸃ οὔπω πεπλήρωται. (Ⅲ)
- Vos ascendite ad diem festum hunc, ego autem non ascendo ad diem festum istum : quia meum tempus nondum impletum est. (Ⅳ)
7. 9  
When he had said these words unto them, he abode still in Galilee.
- Après leur avoir dit cela, il resta en Galilée. (Ⅱ)
- ταῦτα ⸀δὲ εἰπὼν ⸀αὐτὸς ἔμεινεν ἐν τῇ Γαλιλαίᾳ. (Ⅲ)
- Hæc cum dixisset, ipse mansit in Galilæa.\ (Ⅳ)
7. 10  
But when his brethren were gone up, then went he also up unto the feast, not openly, but as it were in secret.
- Lorsque ses frères furent montés à la fête, il y monta aussi lui-même, non publiquement, mais comme en secret. (Ⅱ)
- Ὡς δὲ ἀνέβησαν οἱ ἀδελφοὶ αὐτοῦ ⸂εἰς τὴν ἑορτήν, τότε καὶ αὐτὸς ἀνέβη⸃, οὐ φανερῶς ἀλλὰ ὡς ἐν κρυπτῷ. (Ⅲ)
- Ut autem ascenderunt fratres ejus, tunc et ipse ascendit ad diem festum non manifeste, sed quasi in occulto. (Ⅳ)
7. 11  
Then the Jews sought him at the feast, and said, Where is he?
- Les Juifs le cherchaient pendant la fête, et disaient: Où est-il? (Ⅱ)
- οἱ οὖν Ἰουδαῖοι ἐζήτουν αὐτὸν ἐν τῇ ἑορτῇ καὶ ἔλεγον· Ποῦ ἐστιν ἐκεῖνος; (Ⅲ)
- Judæi ergo quærebant eum in die festo, et dicebant : Ubi est ille ? (Ⅳ)
7. 12  
And there was much murmuring among the people concerning him: for some said, He is a good man: others said, Nay; but he deceiveth the people.
- Il y avait dans la foule grande rumeur à son sujet. Les uns disaient: C'est un homme de bien. D'autres disaient: Non, il égare la multitude. (Ⅱ)
- καὶ γογγυσμὸς ⸂περὶ αὐτοῦ ἦν πολὺς⸃ ἐν τοῖς ὄχλοις· οἱ μὲν ἔλεγον ὅτι Ἀγαθός ἐστιν, ἄλλοι ⸀δὲ ἔλεγον· Οὔ, ἀλλὰ πλανᾷ τὸν ὄχλον. (Ⅲ)
- Et murmur multum erat in turba de eo. Quidam enim dicebant : Quia bonus est. Alii autem dicebant : Non, sed seducit turbas. (Ⅳ)
7. 13  
Howbeit no man spake openly of him for fear of the Jews.
- Personne, toutefois, ne parlait librement de lui, par crainte des Juifs. (Ⅱ)
- οὐδεὶς μέντοι παρρησίᾳ ἐλάλει περὶ αὐτοῦ διὰ τὸν φόβον τῶν Ἰουδαίων. (Ⅲ)
- Nemo tamen palam loquebatur de illo propter metum Judæorum.\ (Ⅳ)
7. 14  
Now about the midst of the feast Jesus went up into the temple, and taught.
- Vers le milieu de la fête, Jésus monta au temple. Et il enseignait. (Ⅱ)
- Ἤδη δὲ τῆς ἑορτῆς μεσούσης ⸀ἀνέβη Ἰησοῦς εἰς τὸ ἱερὸν καὶ ἐδίδασκεν. (Ⅲ)
- Jam autem die festo mediante, ascendit Jesus in templum, et docebat. (Ⅳ)
7. 15  
And the Jews marvelled, saying, How knoweth this man letters, having never learned?
- Les Juifs s'étonnaient, disant: Comment connaît-il les Écritures, lui qui n'a point étudié? (Ⅱ)
- ⸂ἐθαύμαζον οὖν⸃ οἱ Ἰουδαῖοι λέγοντες· Πῶς οὗτος γράμματα οἶδεν μὴ μεμαθηκώς; (Ⅲ)
- Et mirabantur Judæi, dicentes : Quomodo hic litteras scit, cum non didicerit ? (Ⅳ)
7. 16  
Jesus answered them, and said, My doctrine is not mine, but his that sent me.
- Jésus leur répondit: Ma doctrine n'est pas de moi, mais de celui qui m'a envoyé. (Ⅱ)
- ἀπεκρίθη οὖν αὐτοῖς ⸀ὁ Ἰησοῦς καὶ εἶπεν· Ἡ ἐμὴ διδαχὴ οὐκ ἔστιν ἐμὴ ἀλλὰ τοῦ πέμψαντός με· (Ⅲ)
- Respondit eis Jesus, et dixit : Mea doctrina non est mea, sed ejus qui misit me. (Ⅳ)
7. 17  
If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself.
- Si quelqu'un veut faire sa volonté, il connaîtra si ma doctrine est de Dieu, ou si je parle de mon chef. (Ⅱ)
- ἐάν τις θέλῃ τὸ θέλημα αὐτοῦ ποιεῖν, γνώσεται περὶ τῆς διδαχῆς πότερον ἐκ τοῦ θεοῦ ἐστιν ἢ ἐγὼ ἀπ’ ἐμαυτοῦ λαλῶ. (Ⅲ)
- Si quis voluerit voluntatem ejus facere, cognoscet de doctrina, utrum ex Deo sit, an ego a meipso loquar. (Ⅳ)
7. 18  
He that speaketh of himself seeketh his own glory: but he that seeketh his glory that sent him, the same is true, and no unrighteousness is in him.
- Celui qui parle de son chef cherche sa propre gloire; mais celui qui cherche la gloire de celui qui l'a envoyé, celui-là est vrai, et il n'y a point d'injustice en lui. (Ⅱ)
- ὁ ἀφ’ ἑαυτοῦ λαλῶν τὴν δόξαν τὴν ἰδίαν ζητεῖ· ὁ δὲ ζητῶν τὴν δόξαν τοῦ πέμψαντος αὐτὸν οὗτος ἀληθής ἐστιν καὶ ἀδικία ἐν αὐτῷ οὐκ ἔστιν. (Ⅲ)
- Qui a semetipso loquitur, gloriam propriam quærit ; qui autem quærit gloriam ejus qui misit eum, hic verax est, et injustitia in illo non est. (Ⅳ)
7. 19  
Did not Moses give you the law, and yet none of you keepeth the law? Why go ye about to kill me?
- Moïse ne vous a-t-il pas donné la loi? Et nul de vous n'observe la loi. Pourquoi cherchez-vous à me faire mourir? (Ⅱ)
- Οὐ Μωϋσῆς ⸀δέδωκεν ὑμῖν τὸν νόμον; καὶ οὐδεὶς ἐξ ὑμῶν ποιεῖ τὸν νόμον. τί με ζητεῖτε ἀποκτεῖναι; (Ⅲ)
- Nonne Moyses dedit vobis legem : et nemo ex vobis facit legem ? (Ⅳ)
7. 20  
The people answered and said, Thou hast a devil: who goeth about to kill thee?
- La foule répondit: Tu as un démon. Qui est-ce qui cherche à te faire mourir? (Ⅱ)
- ἀπεκρίθη ὁ ⸀ὄχλος· Δαιμόνιον ἔχεις· τίς σε ζητεῖ ἀποκτεῖναι; (Ⅲ)
- Quid me quæritis interficere ? Respondit turba, et dixit : Dæmonium habes : quis te quærit interficere ? (Ⅳ)
7. 21  
Jesus answered and said unto them, I have done one work, and ye all marvel.
- Jésus leur répondit: J'ai fait une oeuvre, et vous en êtes tous étonnés. (Ⅱ)
- ἀπεκρίθη Ἰησοῦς καὶ εἶπεν αὐτοῖς· Ἓν ἔργον ἐποίησα καὶ πάντες θαυμάζετε. (Ⅲ)
- Respondit Jesus et dixit eis : Unum opus feci, et omnes miramini : (Ⅳ)
7. 22  
Moses therefore gave unto you circumcision; (not because it is of Moses, but of the fathers;) and ye on the sabbath day circumcise a man.
- Moïse vous a donné la circoncision, -non qu'elle vienne de Moïse, car elle vient des patriarches, -et vous circoncisez un homme le jour du sabbat. (Ⅱ)
- διὰ τοῦτο Μωϋσῆς δέδωκεν ὑμῖν τὴν περιτομήν— οὐχ ὅτι ἐκ τοῦ Μωϋσέως ἐστὶν ἀλλ’ ἐκ τῶν πατέρων— καὶ ἐν σαββάτῳ περιτέμνετε ἄνθρωπον. (Ⅲ)
- propterea Moyses dedit vobis circumcisionem (non quia ex Moyse est, sed ex patribus), et in sabbato circumciditis hominem. (Ⅳ)
7. 23  
If a man on the sabbath day receive circumcision, that the law of Moses should not be broken; are ye angry at me, because I have made a man every whit whole on the sabbath day?
- Si un homme reçoit la circoncision le jour du sabbat, afin que la loi de Moïse ne soit pas violée, pourquoi vous irritez-vous contre moi de ce que j'ai guéri un homme tout entier le jour du sabbat? (Ⅱ)
- εἰ περιτομὴν ⸀λαμβάνει ἄνθρωπος ἐν σαββάτῳ ἵνα μὴ λυθῇ ὁ νόμος Μωϋσέως, ἐμοὶ χολᾶτε ὅτι ὅλον ἄνθρωπον ὑγιῆ ἐποίησα ἐν σαββάτῳ; (Ⅲ)
- Si circumcisionem accipit homo in sabbato, ut non solvatur lex Moysi : mihi indignamini quia totum hominem sanum feci in sabbato ? (Ⅳ)
7. 24  
Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.
- Ne jugez pas selon l'apparence, mais jugez selon la justice. (Ⅱ)
- μὴ κρίνετε κατ’ ὄψιν, ἀλλὰ τὴν δικαίαν κρίσιν ⸀κρίνετε. (Ⅲ)
- Nolite judicare secundum faciem, sed justum judicium judicate.\ (Ⅳ)
7. 25  
Then said some of them of Jerusalem, Is not this he, whom they seek to kill?
- Quelques habitants de Jérusalem disaient: N'est-ce pas là celui qu'ils cherchent à faire mourir? (Ⅱ)
- Ἔλεγον οὖν τινες ἐκ τῶν Ἱεροσολυμιτῶν· Οὐχ οὗτός ἐστιν ὃν ζητοῦσιν ἀποκτεῖναι; (Ⅲ)
- Dicebant ergo quidam ex Jerosolymis : Nonne hic est, quem quærunt interficere ? (Ⅳ)
7. 26  
But, lo, he speaketh boldly, and they say nothing unto him. Do the rulers know indeed that this is the very Christ?
- Et voici, il parle librement, et ils ne lui disent rien! Est-ce que vraiment les chefs auraient reconnu qu'il est le Christ? (Ⅱ)
- καὶ ἴδε παρρησίᾳ λαλεῖ καὶ οὐδὲν αὐτῷ λέγουσιν· μήποτε ἀληθῶς ἔγνωσαν οἱ ἄρχοντες ὅτι οὗτός ⸀ἐστιν ὁ χριστός; (Ⅲ)
- et ecce palam loquitur, et nihil ei dicunt. Numquid vere cognoverunt principes quia hic est Christus ? (Ⅳ)
7. 27  
Howbeit we know this man whence he is: but when Christ cometh, no man knoweth whence he is.
- Cependant celui-ci, nous savons d'où il est; mais le Christ, quand il viendra, personne ne saura d'où il est. (Ⅱ)
- ἀλλὰ τοῦτον οἴδαμεν πόθεν ἐστίν· ὁ δὲ χριστὸς ὅταν ἔρχηται οὐδεὶς γινώσκει πόθεν ἐστίν. (Ⅲ)
- Sed hunc scimus unde sit : Christus autem cum venerit, nemo scit unde sit. (Ⅳ)
7. 28  
Then cried Jesus in the temple as he taught, saying, Ye both know me, and ye know whence I am: and I am not come of myself, but he that sent me is true, whom ye know not.
- Et Jésus, enseignant dans le temple, s'écria: Vous me connaissez, et vous savez d'où je suis! Je ne suis pas venu de moi-même: mais celui qui m'a envoyé est vrai, et vous ne le connaissez pas. (Ⅱ)
- ἔκραξεν οὖν ἐν τῷ ἱερῷ διδάσκων ὁ Ἰησοῦς καὶ λέγων· Κἀμὲ οἴδατε καὶ οἴδατε πόθεν εἰμί· καὶ ἀπ’ ἐμαυτοῦ οὐκ ἐλήλυθα, ἀλλ’ ἔστιν ἀληθινὸς ὁ πέμψας με, ὃν ὑμεῖς οὐκ οἴδατε· (Ⅲ)
- Clamabat ergo Jesus in templo docens, et dicens : Et me scitis, et unde sim scitis : et a meipso non veni, sed est verus qui misit me, quem vos nescitis. (Ⅳ)
7. 29  
But I know him: for I am from him, and he hath sent me.
- Moi, je le connais; car je viens de lui, et c'est lui qui m'a envoyé. (Ⅱ)
- ἐγὼ οἶδα αὐτόν, ὅτι παρ’ αὐτοῦ εἰμι κἀκεῖνός με ἀπέστειλεν. (Ⅲ)
- Ego scio eum : quia ab ipso sum, et ipse me misit. (Ⅳ)
7. 30  
Then they sought to take him: but no man laid hands on him, because his hour was not yet come.
- Ils cherchaient donc à se saisir de lui, et personne ne mit la main sur lui, parce que son heure n'était pas encore venue. (Ⅱ)
- ἐζήτουν οὖν αὐτὸν πιάσαι, καὶ οὐδεὶς ἐπέβαλεν ἐπ’ αὐτὸν τὴν χεῖρα, ὅτι οὔπω ἐληλύθει ἡ ὥρα αὐτοῦ. (Ⅲ)
- Quærebant ergo eum apprehendere : et nemo misit in illum manus, quia nondum venerat hora ejus. (Ⅳ)
7. 31  
And many of the people believed on him, and said, When Christ cometh, will he do more miracles than these which this man hath done?
- Plusieurs parmi la foule crurent en lui, et ils disaient: Le Christ, quand il viendra, fera-t-il plus de miracles que n'en a fait celui-ci? (Ⅱ)
- ⸂ἐκ τοῦ ὄχλου δὲ πολλοὶ⸃ ἐπίστευσαν εἰς αὐτόν, καὶ ⸀ἔλεγον· Ὁ χριστὸς ὅταν ἔλθῃ ⸀μὴ πλείονα ⸀σημεῖα ποιήσει ὧν οὗτος ἐποίησεν; (Ⅲ)
- De turba autem multi crediderunt in eum, et dicebant : Christus cum venerit, numquid plura signa faciet quam quæ hic facit ? (Ⅳ)
7. 32  
The Pharisees heard that the people murmured such things concerning him; and the Pharisees and the chief priests sent officers to take him.
- Les pharisiens entendirent la foule murmurant de lui ces choses. Alors les principaux sacrificateurs et les pharisiens envoyèrent des huissiers pour le saisir. (Ⅱ)
- Ἤκουσαν οἱ Φαρισαῖοι τοῦ ὄχλου γογγύζοντος περὶ αὐτοῦ ταῦτα, καὶ ἀπέστειλαν ⸂οἱ ἀρχιερεῖς καὶ οἱ Φαρισαῖοι ὑπηρέτας⸃ ἵνα πιάσωσιν αὐτόν. (Ⅲ)
- Audierunt pharisæi turbam murmurantem de illo hæc : et miserunt principes et pharisæi ministros ut apprehenderent eum. (Ⅳ)
7. 33  
Then said Jesus unto them, Yet a little while am I with you, and then I go unto him that sent me.
- Jésus dit: Je suis encore avec vous pour un peu de temps, puis je m'en vais vers celui qui m'a envoyé. (Ⅱ)
- εἶπεν οὖν ὁ Ἰησοῦς· Ἔτι ⸂χρόνον μικρὸν⸃ μεθ’ ὑμῶν εἰμι καὶ ὑπάγω πρὸς τὸν πέμψαντά με. (Ⅲ)
- Dixit ergo eis Jesus : Adhuc modicum tempus vobiscum sum : et vado ad eum qui me misit. (Ⅳ)
7. 34  
Ye shall seek me, and shall not find me: and where I am, thither ye cannot come.
- Vous me chercherez et vous ne me trouverez pas, et vous ne pouvez venir où je serai. (Ⅱ)
- ζητήσετέ με καὶ οὐχ ⸀εὑρήσετέ, καὶ ὅπου εἰμὶ ἐγὼ ὑμεῖς οὐ δύνασθε ἐλθεῖν. (Ⅲ)
- Quæretis me, et non invenietis : et ubi ego sum, vos non potestis venire. (Ⅳ)
7. 35  
Then said the Jews among themselves, Whither will he go, that we shall not find him? will he go unto the dispersed among the Gentiles, and teach the Gentiles?
- Sur quoi les Juifs dirent entre eux: Où ira-t-il, que nous ne le trouvions pas? Ira-t-il parmi ceux qui sont dispersés chez les Grecs, et enseignera-t-il les Grecs? (Ⅱ)
- εἶπον οὖν οἱ Ἰουδαῖοι πρὸς ἑαυτούς· Ποῦ οὗτος μέλλει πορεύεσθαι ὅτι ἡμεῖς οὐχ εὑρήσομεν αὐτόν; μὴ εἰς τὴν διασπορὰν τῶν Ἑλλήνων μέλλει πορεύεσθαι καὶ διδάσκειν τοὺς Ἕλληνας; (Ⅲ)
- Dixerunt ergo Judæi ad semetipsos : Quo hic iturus est, quia non inveniemus eum ? numquid in dispersionem gentium iturus est, et docturus gentes ? (Ⅳ)
7. 36  
What manner of saying is this that he said, Ye shall seek me, and shall not find me: and where I am, thither ye cannot come?
- Que signifie cette parole qu'il a dite: Vous me chercherez et vous ne me trouverez pas, et vous ne pouvez venir où je serai? (Ⅱ)
- τίς ἐστιν ⸂ὁ λόγος οὗτος⸃ ὃν εἶπε· Ζητήσετέ με καὶ οὐχ ⸀εὑρήσετέ, καὶ ὅπου εἰμὶ ἐγὼ ὑμεῖς οὐ δύνασθε ἐλθεῖν; (Ⅲ)
- quis est hic sermo, quem dixit : Quæretis me, et non invenietis : et ubi sum ego, vos non potestis venire ?\ (Ⅳ)
7. 37  
In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink.
- Le dernier jour, le grand jour de la fête, Jésus, se tenant debout, s'écria: Si quelqu'un a soif, qu'il vienne à moi, et qu'il boive. (Ⅱ)
- Ἐν δὲ τῇ ἐσχάτῃ ἡμέρᾳ τῇ μεγάλῃ τῆς ἑορτῆς εἱστήκει ὁ Ἰησοῦς, καὶ ἔκραξεν λέγων· Ἐάν τις διψᾷ ἐρχέσθω πρός με καὶ πινέτω. (Ⅲ)
- In novissimo autem die magno festivitatis stabat Jesus, et clamabat dicens : Si quis sitit, veniat ad me et bibat. (Ⅳ)
7. 38  
He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.
- Celui qui croit en moi, des fleuves d'eau vive couleront de son sein, comme dit l'Écriture. (Ⅱ)

- Qui credit in me, sicut dicit Scriptura, flumina de ventre ejus fluent aquæ vivæ. (Ⅳ)
7. 39  
(But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)
- Il dit cela de l'Esprit que devaient recevoir ceux qui croiraient en lui; car l'Esprit n'était pas encore, parce que Jésus n'avait pas encore été glorifié. (Ⅱ)
- τοῦτο δὲ εἶπεν περὶ τοῦ πνεύματος ⸀οὗ ἔμελλον λαμβάνειν οἱ ⸀πιστεύσαντες εἰς αὐτόν· οὔπω γὰρ ἦν ⸀πνεῦμα, ὅτι Ἰησοῦς ⸀οὐδέπω ἐδοξάσθη. (Ⅲ)
- Hoc autem dixit de Spiritu, quem accepturi erant credentes in eum : nondum enim erat Spiritus datus, quia Jesus nondum erat glorificatus.\ (Ⅳ)
7. 40  
Many of the people therefore, when they heard this saying, said, Of a truth this is the Prophet.
- Des gens de la foule, ayant entendu ces paroles, disaient: Celui-ci est vraiment le prophète. (Ⅱ)
- ⸂Ἐκ τοῦ ὄχλου οὖν⸃ ἀκούσαντες ⸂τῶν λόγων τούτων⸃ ⸀ἔλεγον· Οὗτός ἐστιν ἀληθῶς ὁ προφήτης· (Ⅲ)
- Ex illa ergo turba cum audissent hos sermones ejus, dicebant : Hic est vere propheta. (Ⅳ)
7. 41  
Others said, This is the Christ. But some said, Shall Christ come out of Galilee?
- D'autres disaient: C'est le Christ. Et d'autres disaient: Est-ce bien de la Galilée que doit venir le Christ? (Ⅱ)
- ἄλλοι ἔλεγον· Οὗτός ἐστιν ὁ χριστός· ⸂οἱ δὲ⸃ ἔλεγον· Μὴ γὰρ ἐκ τῆς Γαλιλαίας ὁ χριστὸς ἔρχεται; (Ⅲ)
- Alii dicebant : Hic est Christus. Quidam autem dicebant : Numquid a Galilæa venit Christus ? (Ⅳ)
7. 42  
Hath not the scripture said, That Christ cometh of the seed of David, and out of the town of Bethlehem, where David was?
- L'Écriture ne dit-elle pas que c'est de la postérité de David, et du village de Bethléhem, où était David, que le Christ doit venir? (Ⅱ)
- ⸀οὐχ ἡ γραφὴ εἶπεν ὅτι ἐκ τοῦ σπέρματος Δαυὶδ, καὶ ἀπὸ Βηθλέεμ τῆς κώμης ὅπου ἦν Δαυὶδ, ⸂ἔρχεται ὁ χριστός⸃; (Ⅲ)
- nonne Scriptura dicit : Quia ex semine David, et de Bethlehem castello, ubi erat David, venit Christus ? (Ⅳ)
7. 43  
So there was a division among the people because of him.
- Il y eut donc, à cause de lui, division parmi la foule. (Ⅱ)
- σχίσμα οὖν ⸂ἐγένετο ἐν τῷ ὄχλῳ⸃ δι’ αὐτόν. (Ⅲ)
- Dissensio itaque facta est in turba propter eum. (Ⅳ)
7. 44  
And some of them would have taken him; but no man laid hands on him.
- Quelques-uns d'entre eux voulaient le saisir, mais personne ne mit la main sur lui. (Ⅱ)
- τινὲς δὲ ἤθελον ἐξ αὐτῶν πιάσαι αὐτόν, ἀλλ’ οὐδεὶς ⸀ἐπέβαλεν ἐπ’ αὐτὸν τὰς χεῖρας. (Ⅲ)
- Quidam autem ex ipsis volebant apprehendere eum : sed nemo misit super eum manus. (Ⅳ)
7. 45  
Then came the officers to the chief priests and Pharisees; and they said unto them, Why have ye not brought him?
- Ainsi les huissiers retournèrent vers les principaux sacrificateurs et les pharisiens. Et ceux-ci leur dirent: Pourquoi ne l'avez-vous pas amené? (Ⅱ)
- Ἦλθον οὖν οἱ ὑπηρέται πρὸς τοὺς ἀρχιερεῖς καὶ Φαρισαίους, καὶ εἶπον αὐτοῖς ἐκεῖνοι· Διὰ τί οὐκ ἠγάγετε αὐτόν; (Ⅲ)
- Venerunt ergo ministri ad pontifices et pharisæos. Et dixerunt eis illi : Quare non adduxistis illum ? (Ⅳ)
7. 46  
The officers answered, Never man spake like this man.
- Les huissiers répondirent: Jamais homme n'a parlé comme cet homme. (Ⅱ)
- ἀπεκρίθησαν οἱ ὑπηρέται· Οὐδέποτε ⸂ἐλάλησεν οὕτως⸃ ⸀ἄνθρωπος. (Ⅲ)
- Responderunt ministri : Numquam sic locutus est homo, sicut hic homo. (Ⅳ)
7. 47  
Then answered them the Pharisees, Are ye also deceived?
- Les pharisiens leur répliquèrent: Est-ce que vous aussi, vous avez été séduits? (Ⅱ)
- ἀπεκρίθησαν οὖν αὐτοῖς οἱ Φαρισαῖοι· Μὴ καὶ ὑμεῖς πεπλάνησθε; (Ⅲ)
- Responderunt ergo eis pharisæi : Numquid et vos seducti estis ? (Ⅳ)
7. 48  
Have any of the rulers or of the Pharisees believed on him?
- Y a-t-il quelqu'un des chefs ou des pharisiens qui ait cru en lui? (Ⅱ)
- μή τις ἐκ τῶν ἀρχόντων ἐπίστευσεν εἰς αὐτὸν ἢ ἐκ τῶν Φαρισαίων; (Ⅲ)
- numquid ex principibus aliquis credidit in eum, aut ex pharisæis ? (Ⅳ)
7. 49  
But this people who knoweth not the law are cursed.
- Mais cette foule qui ne connaît pas la loi, ce sont des maudits! (Ⅱ)
- ἀλλὰ ὁ ὄχλος οὗτος ὁ μὴ γινώσκων τὸν νόμον ⸀ἐπάρατοί εἰσιν. (Ⅲ)
- sed turba hæc, quæ non novit legem, maledicti sunt. (Ⅳ)
7. 50  
Nicodemus saith unto them, (he that came to Jesus by night, being one of them,)
- Nicodème, qui était venu de nuit vers Jésus, et qui était l'un d'entre eux, leur dit: (Ⅱ)
- λέγει Νικόδημος πρὸς αὐτούς, ὁ ⸀ἐλθὼν πρὸς αὐτὸν ⸀πρότερον, εἷς ὢν ἐξ αὐτῶν· (Ⅲ)
- Dixit Nicodemus ad eos, ille qui venit ad eum nocte, qui unus erat ex ipsis : (Ⅳ)
