18. 1  
After these things Paul departed from Athens, and came to Corinth;
- Après cela, Paul partit d'Athènes, et se rendit à Corinthe. (Ⅱ)
- ⸀Μετὰ ταῦτα ⸀χωρισθεὶς ἐκ τῶν Ἀθηνῶν ἦλθεν εἰς Κόρινθον. (Ⅲ)
- Post hæc egressus ab Athenis, venit Corinthum : (Ⅳ)
18. 2  
And found a certain Jew named Aquila, born in Pontus, lately come from Italy, with his wife Priscilla; (because that Claudius had commanded all Jews to depart from Rome:) and came unto them.
- Il y trouva un Juif nommé Aquilas, originaire du Pont, récemment arrivé d'Italie avec sa femme Priscille, parce que Claude avait ordonné à tous les Juifs de sortir de Rome. Il se lia avec eux; (Ⅱ)
- καὶ εὑρών τινα Ἰουδαῖον ὀνόματι Ἀκύλαν, Ποντικὸν τῷ γένει, προσφάτως ἐληλυθότα ἀπὸ τῆς Ἰταλίας καὶ Πρίσκιλλαν γυναῖκα αὐτοῦ διὰ τὸ ⸀διατεταχέναι Κλαύδιον χωρίζεσθαι πάντας τοὺς Ἰουδαίους ⸀ἀπὸ τῆς Ῥώμης, προσῆλθεν αὐτοῖς, (Ⅲ)
- et inveniens quemdam Judæum nomine Aquilam, Ponticum genere, qui nuper venerat ab Italia, et Priscillam uxorem ejus (eo quod præcepisset Claudius discedere omnes Judæos a Roma), accessit ad eos. (Ⅳ)
18. 3  
And because he was of the same craft, he abode with them, and wrought: for by their occupation they were tentmakers.
- et, comme il avait le même métier, il demeura chez eux et y travailla: ils étaient faiseurs de tentes. (Ⅱ)
- καὶ διὰ τὸ ὁμότεχνον εἶναι ἔμενεν παρ’ αὐτοῖς καὶ ⸀ἠργάζετο, ἦσαν γὰρ σκηνοποιοὶ ⸂τῇ τέχνῃ⸃. (Ⅲ)
- Et quia ejusdem erat artis, manebat apud eos, et operabatur. (Erant autem scenofactoriæ artis.) (Ⅳ)
18. 4  
And he reasoned in the synagogue every sabbath, and persuaded the Jews and the Greeks.
- Paul discourait dans la synagogue chaque sabbat, et il persuadait des Juifs et des Grecs. (Ⅱ)
- διελέγετο δὲ ἐν τῇ συναγωγῇ κατὰ πᾶν σάββατον, ἔπειθέν τε Ἰουδαίους καὶ Ἕλληνας. (Ⅲ)
- Et disputabat in synagoga per omne sabbatum, interponens nomen Domini Jesu : suadebatque Judæis et Græcis. (Ⅳ)
18. 5  
And when Silas and Timotheus were come from Macedonia, Paul was pressed in the spirit, and testified to the Jews that Jesus was Christ.
- Mais quand Silas et Timothée furent arrivés de la Macédoine, il se donna tout entier à la parole, attestant aux Juifs que Jésus était le Christ. (Ⅱ)
- Ὡς δὲ κατῆλθον ἀπὸ τῆς Μακεδονίας ὅ τε Σιλᾶς καὶ ὁ Τιμόθεος, συνείχετο τῷ ⸀λόγῳ ὁ Παῦλος, διαμαρτυρόμενος τοῖς Ἰουδαίοις ⸀εἶναι τὸν χριστὸν Ἰησοῦν. (Ⅲ)
- Cum venissent autem de Macedonia Silas et Timotheus, instabat verbo Paulus, testificans Judæis esse Christum Jesum. (Ⅳ)
18. 6  
And when they opposed themselves, and blasphemed, he shook his raiment, and said unto them, Your blood be upon your own heads; I am clean; from henceforth I will go unto the Gentiles.
- Les Juifs faisant alors de l'opposition et se livrant à des injures, Paul secoua ses vêtements, et leur dit: Que votre sang retombe sur votre tête! J'en suis pur. Dès maintenant, j'irai vers les païens. (Ⅱ)
- ἀντιτασσομένων δὲ αὐτῶν καὶ βλασφημούντων ἐκτιναξάμενος τὰ ἱμάτια εἶπεν πρὸς αὐτούς· Τὸ αἷμα ὑμῶν ἐπὶ τὴν κεφαλὴν ὑμῶν· καθαρὸς ἐγώ· ἀπὸ τοῦ νῦν εἰς τὰ ἔθνη πορεύσομαι. (Ⅲ)
- Contradicentibus autem eis, et blasphemantibus, excutiens vestimenta sua, dixit ad eos : Sanguis vester super caput vestrum : mundus ego : ex hoc ad gentes vadam. (Ⅳ)
18. 7  
And he departed thence, and entered into a certain man's house, named Justus, one that worshipped God, whose house joined hard to the synagogue.
- Et sortant de là, il entra chez un nommé Justus, homme craignant Dieu, et dont la maison était contiguë à la synagogue. (Ⅱ)
- καὶ μεταβὰς ἐκεῖθεν ⸀εἰσῆλθεν εἰς οἰκίαν τινὸς ὀνόματι ⸀Τιτίου Ἰούστου σεβομένου τὸν θεόν, οὗ ἡ οἰκία ἦν συνομοροῦσα τῇ συναγωγῇ. (Ⅲ)
- Et migrans inde, intravit in domum cujusdam, nomine Titi Justi, colentis Deum, cujus domus erat conjuncta synagogæ. (Ⅳ)
18. 8  
And Crispus, the chief ruler of the synagogue, believed on the Lord with all his house; and many of the Corinthians hearing believed, and were baptized.
- Cependant Crispus, le chef de la synagogue, crut au Seigneur avec toute sa famille. Et plusieurs Corinthiens, qui avaient entendu Paul, crurent aussi, et furent baptisés. (Ⅱ)
- Κρίσπος δὲ ὁ ἀρχισυνάγωγος ἐπίστευσεν τῷ κυρίῳ σὺν ὅλῳ τῷ οἴκῳ αὐτοῦ, καὶ πολλοὶ τῶν Κορινθίων ἀκούοντες ἐπίστευον καὶ ἐβαπτίζοντο. (Ⅲ)
- Crispus autem archisynagogus credidit Domino cum omni domo sua : et multi Corinthiorum audientes credebant, et baptizabantur. (Ⅳ)
18. 9  
Then spake the Lord to Paul in the night by a vision, Be not afraid, but speak, and hold not thy peace:
- Le Seigneur dit à Paul en vision pendant la nuit: Ne crains point; mais parle, et ne te tais point, (Ⅱ)
- εἶπεν δὲ ὁ κύριος ⸂ἐν νυκτὶ δι’ ὁράματος⸃ τῷ Παύλῳ· Μὴ φοβοῦ, ἀλλὰ λάλει καὶ μὴ σιωπήσῃς, (Ⅲ)
- Dixit autem Dominus nocte per visionem Paulo : Noli timere, sed loquere, et ne taceas : (Ⅳ)
18. 10  
For I am with thee, and no man shall set on thee to hurt thee: for I have much people in this city.
- Car je suis avec toi, et personne ne mettra la main sur toi pour te faire du mal: parle, car j'ai un peuple nombreux dans cette ville. (Ⅱ)
- διότι ἐγώ εἰμι μετὰ σοῦ καὶ οὐδεὶς ἐπιθήσεταί σοι τοῦ κακῶσαί σε, διότι λαός ἐστί μοι πολὺς ἐν τῇ πόλει ταύτῃ. (Ⅲ)
- propter quod ego sum tecum, et nemo apponetur tibi ut noceat te : quoniam populus est mihi multus in hac civitate. (Ⅳ)
18. 11  
And he continued there a year and six months, teaching the word of God among them.
- Il y demeura un an et six mois, enseignant parmi les Corinthiens la parole de Dieu. (Ⅱ)
- ἐκάθισεν ⸀δὲ ἐνιαυτὸν καὶ μῆνας ἓξ διδάσκων ἐν αὐτοῖς τὸν λόγον τοῦ θεοῦ. (Ⅲ)
- Sedit autem ibi annum et sex menses, docens apud eos verbum Dei.\ (Ⅳ)
18. 12  
And when Gallio was the deputy of Achaia, the Jews made insurrection with one accord against Paul, and brought him to the judgment seat,
- Du temps que Gallion était proconsul de l'Achaïe, les Juifs se soulevèrent unanimement contre Paul, et le menèrent devant le tribunal, (Ⅱ)
- Γαλλίωνος δὲ ⸂ἀνθυπάτου ὄντος⸃ τῆς Ἀχαΐας κατεπέστησαν ⸂ὁμοθυμαδὸν οἱ Ἰουδαῖοι⸃ τῷ Παύλῳ καὶ ἤγαγον αὐτὸν ἐπὶ τὸ βῆμα, (Ⅲ)
- Gallione autem proconsule Achaiæ, insurrexerunt uno animo Judæi in Paulum, et adduxerunt eum ad tribunal, (Ⅳ)
18. 13  
Saying, This fellow persuadeth men to worship God contrary to the law.
- en disant: Cet homme excite les gens à servir Dieu d'une manière contraire à la loi. (Ⅱ)
- λέγοντες ὅτι Παρὰ τὸν νόμον ⸂ἀναπείθει οὗτος⸃ τοὺς ἀνθρώπους σέβεσθαι τὸν θεόν. (Ⅲ)
- dicentes : Quia contra legem hic persuadet hominibus colere Deum. (Ⅳ)
18. 14  
And when Paul was now about to open his mouth, Gallio said unto the Jews, If it were a matter of wrong or wicked lewdness, O ye Jews, reason would that I should bear with you:
- Paul allait ouvrir la bouche, lorsque Gallion dit aux Juifs: S'il s'agissait de quelque injustice ou de quelque méchante action, je vous écouterais comme de raison, ô Juifs; (Ⅱ)
- μέλλοντος δὲ τοῦ Παύλου ἀνοίγειν τὸ στόμα εἶπεν ὁ Γαλλίων πρὸς τοὺς Ἰουδαίους· Εἰ ⸀μὲν ἦν ἀδίκημά τι ἢ ῥᾳδιούργημα πονηρόν, ὦ Ἰουδαῖοι, κατὰ λόγον ἂν ἀνεσχόμην ὑμῶν· (Ⅲ)
- Incipiente autem Paulo aperire os, dixit Gallio ad Judæos : Si quidem esset iniquum aliquid aut facinus pessimum, o viri Judæi, recte vos sustinerem. (Ⅳ)
18. 15  
But if it be a question of words and names, and of your law, look ye to it; for I will be no judge of such matters.
- mais, s'il s'agit de discussions sur une parole, sur des noms, et sur votre loi, cela vous regarde: je ne veux pas être juge de ces choses. (Ⅱ)
- εἰ δὲ ⸀ζητήματά ἐστιν περὶ λόγου καὶ ὀνομάτων καὶ νόμου τοῦ καθ’ ὑμᾶς, ὄψεσθε αὐτοί· ⸀κριτὴς ἐγὼ τούτων οὐ βούλομαι εἶναι. (Ⅲ)
- Si vero quæstiones sunt de verbo, et nominibus, et lege vestra, vos ipsi videritis : judex ego horum nolo esse. (Ⅳ)
18. 16  
And he drave them from the judgment seat.
- Et il les renvoya du tribunal. (Ⅱ)
- καὶ ἀπήλασεν αὐτοὺς ἀπὸ τοῦ βήματος. (Ⅲ)
- Et minavit eos a tribunali. (Ⅳ)
18. 17  
Then all the Greeks took Sosthenes, the chief ruler of the synagogue, and beat him before the judgment seat. And Gallio cared for none of those things.
- Alors tous, se saisissant de Sosthène, le chef de la synagogue, le battirent devant le tribunal, sans que Gallion s'en mît en peine. (Ⅱ)
- ἐπιλαβόμενοι δὲ ⸀πάντες Σωσθένην τὸν ἀρχισυνάγωγον ἔτυπτον ἔμπροσθεν τοῦ βήματος· καὶ οὐδὲν τούτων τῷ Γαλλίωνι ⸀ἔμελεν. (Ⅲ)
- Apprehendentes autem omnes Sosthenem principem synagogæ, percutiebant eum ante tribunal : et nihil eorum Gallioni curæ erat.\ (Ⅳ)
18. 18  
And Paul after this tarried there yet a good while, and then took his leave of the brethren, and sailed thence into Syria, and with him Priscilla and Aquila; having shorn his head in Cenchrea: for he had a vow.
- Paul resta encore assez longtemps à Corinthe. Ensuite il prit congé des frères, et s'embarqua pour la Syrie, avec Priscille et Aquilas, après s'être fait raser la tête à Cenchrées, car il avait fait un voeu. (Ⅱ)
- Ὁ δὲ Παῦλος ἔτι προσμείνας ἡμέρας ἱκανὰς τοῖς ἀδελφοῖς ἀποταξάμενος ἐξέπλει εἰς τὴν Συρίαν, καὶ σὺν αὐτῷ Πρίσκιλλα καὶ Ἀκύλας, κειράμενος ⸂ἐν Κεγχρεαῖς τὴν κεφαλήν⸃, εἶχεν γὰρ εὐχήν. (Ⅲ)
- Paulus vero cum adhuc sustinuisset dies multos fratribus valefaciens, navigavit in Syriam (et cum eo Priscilla et Aquila), qui sibi totonderat in Cenchris caput : habebat enim votum. (Ⅳ)
18. 19  
And he came to Ephesus, and left them there: but he himself entered into the synagogue, and reasoned with the Jews.
- Ils arrivèrent à Éphèse, et Paul y laissa ses compagnons. Étant entré dans la synagogue, il s'entretint avec les Juifs, (Ⅱ)
- ⸀κατήντησαν δὲ εἰς Ἔφεσον, κἀκείνους κατέλιπεν αὐτοῦ, αὐτὸς δὲ εἰσελθὼν εἰς τὴν συναγωγὴν ⸀διελέξατο τοῖς Ἰουδαίοις. (Ⅲ)
- Devenitque Ephesum, et illos ibi reliquit. Ipse vero ingressus synagogam, disputabat cum Judæis. (Ⅳ)
18. 20  
When they desired him to tarry longer time with them, he consented not;
- qui le prièrent de prolonger son séjour. (Ⅱ)
- ἐρωτώντων δὲ αὐτῶν ἐπὶ πλείονα χρόνον ⸀μεῖναι οὐκ ἐπένευσεν, (Ⅲ)
- Rogantibus autem eis ut ampliori tempore maneret, non consensit, (Ⅳ)
18. 21  
But bade them farewell, saying, I must by all means keep this feast that cometh in Jerusalem: but I will return again unto you, if God will. And he sailed from Ephesus.
- Mais il n'y consentit point, et il prit congé d'eux, en disant: Il faut absolument que je célèbre la fête prochaine à Jérusalem. Je reviendrai vers vous, si Dieu le veut. Et il partit d'Éphèse. (Ⅱ)
- ⸂ἀλλὰ ἀποταξάμενος καὶ⸃ ⸀εἰπών· ⸀Πάλιν ἀνακάμψω πρὸς ὑμᾶς τοῦ θεοῦ θέλοντος ἀνήχθη ἀπὸ τῆς Ἐφέσου, (Ⅲ)
- sed valefaciens, et dicens : Iterum revertar ad vos, Deo volente : profectus est ab Epheso. (Ⅳ)
18. 22  
And when he had landed at Caesarea, and gone up, and saluted the church, he went down to Antioch.
- Étant débarqué à Césarée, il monta à Jérusalem, et, après avoir salué l'Église, il descendit à Antioche. (Ⅱ)
- καὶ κατελθὼν εἰς Καισάρειαν, ἀναβὰς καὶ ἀσπασάμενος τὴν ἐκκλησίαν, κατέβη εἰς Ἀντιόχειαν, (Ⅲ)
- Et descendens Cæsaream, ascendit, et salutavit ecclesiam, et descendit Antiochiam.\ (Ⅳ)
18. 23  
And after he had spent some time there, he departed, and went over all the country of Galatia and Phrygia in order, strengthening all the disciples.
- Lorsqu'il eut passé quelque temps à Antioche, Paul se mit en route, et parcourut successivement la Galatie et la Phrygie, fortifiant tous les disciples. (Ⅱ)
- καὶ ποιήσας χρόνον τινὰ ἐξῆλθεν, διερχόμενος καθεξῆς τὴν Γαλατικὴν χώραν καὶ Φρυγίαν, ⸀στηρίζων πάντας τοὺς μαθητάς. (Ⅲ)
- Et facto ibi aliquanto tempore profectus est, perambulans ex ordine Galaticam regionem, et Phrygiam, confirmans omnes discipulos. (Ⅳ)
18. 24  
And a certain Jew named Apollos, born at Alexandria, an eloquent man, and mighty in the scriptures, came to Ephesus.
- Un Juif nommé Apollos, originaire d'Alexandrie, homme éloquent et versé dans les Écritures, vint à Éphèse. (Ⅱ)
- Ἰουδαῖος δέ τις Ἀπολλῶς ὀνόματι, Ἀλεξανδρεὺς τῷ γένει, ἀνὴρ λόγιος, κατήντησεν εἰς Ἔφεσον, δυνατὸς ὢν ἐν ταῖς γραφαῖς. (Ⅲ)
- Judæus autem quidam, Apollo nomine, Alexandrinus genere, vir eloquens, devenit Ephesum, potens in scripturis. (Ⅳ)
18. 25  
This man was instructed in the way of the Lord; and being fervent in the spirit, he spake and taught diligently the things of the Lord, knowing only the baptism of John.
- Il était instruit dans la voie du Seigneur, et, fervent d'esprit, il annonçait et enseignait avec exactitude ce qui concerne Jésus, bien qu'il ne connût que le baptême de Jean. (Ⅱ)
- οὗτος ἦν κατηχημένος τὴν ὁδὸν τοῦ κυρίου, καὶ ζέων τῷ πνεύματι ἐλάλει καὶ ἐδίδασκεν ἀκριβῶς τὰ περὶ τοῦ ⸀Ἰησοῦ, ἐπιστάμενος μόνον τὸ βάπτισμα Ἰωάννου. (Ⅲ)
- Hic erat edoctus viam Domini : et fervens spiritu loquebatur, et docebat diligenter ea quæ sunt Jesu, sciens tantum baptisma Joannis. (Ⅳ)
18. 26  
And he began to speak boldly in the synagogue: whom when Aquila and Priscilla had heard, they took him unto them, and expounded unto him the way of God more perfectly.
- Il se mit à parler librement dans la synagogue. Aquilas et Priscille, l'ayant entendu, le prirent avec eux, et lui exposèrent plus exactement la voie de Dieu. (Ⅱ)
- οὗτός τε ἤρξατο παρρησιάζεσθαι ἐν τῇ συναγωγῇ· ἀκούσαντες δὲ αὐτοῦ ⸂Πρίσκιλλα καὶ Ἀκύλας⸃ προσελάβοντο αὐτὸν καὶ ἀκριβέστερον αὐτῷ ἐξέθεντο τὴν ⸂ὁδὸν τοῦ θεοῦ⸃. (Ⅲ)
- Hic ergo cœpit fiducialiter agere in synagoga. Quem cum audissent Priscilla et Aquila, assumpserunt eum, et diligentius exposuerunt ei viam Domini. (Ⅳ)
18. 27  
And when he was disposed to pass into Achaia, the brethren wrote, exhorting the disciples to receive him: who, when he was come, helped them much which had believed through grace:
- Comme il voulait passer en Achaïe, les frères l'y encouragèrent, et écrivirent aux disciples de le bien recevoir. Quand il fut arrivé, il se rendit, par la grâce de Dieu, très utile à ceux qui avaient cru; (Ⅱ)
- βουλομένου δὲ αὐτοῦ διελθεῖν εἰς τὴν Ἀχαΐαν προτρεψάμενοι οἱ ἀδελφοὶ ἔγραψαν τοῖς μαθηταῖς ἀποδέξασθαι αὐτόν· ὃς παραγενόμενος συνεβάλετο πολὺ τοῖς πεπιστευκόσιν διὰ τῆς χάριτος· (Ⅲ)
- Cum autem vellet ire Achaiam, exhortati fratres, scripserunt discipulis ut susciperent eum. Qui cum venisset, contulit multum his qui crediderant. (Ⅳ)
18. 28  
For he mightily convinced the Jews, and that publickly, shewing by the scriptures that Jesus was Christ.
- Car il réfutait vivement les Juifs en public, démontrant par les Écritures que Jésus est le Christ. (Ⅱ)
- εὐτόνως γὰρ τοῖς Ἰουδαίοις διακατηλέγχετο δημοσίᾳ ἐπιδεικνὺς διὰ τῶν γραφῶν εἶναι τὸν χριστὸν Ἰησοῦν. (Ⅲ)
- Vehementer enim Judæos revincebat publice, ostendens per Scripturas esse Christum Jesum. (Ⅳ)
