21. 1  
And it came to pass, that after we were gotten from them, and had launched, we came with a straight course unto Coos, and the day following unto Rhodes, and from thence unto Patara:
- Nous nous embarquâmes, après nous être séparés d'eux, et nous allâmes directement à Cos, le lendemain à Rhodes, et de là à Patara. (Ⅱ)
- Ὡς δὲ ἐγένετο ἀναχθῆναι ἡμᾶς ἀποσπασθέντας ἀπ’ αὐτῶν, εὐθυδρομήσαντες ἤλθομεν εἰς τὴν ⸀Κῶ, τῇ δὲ ἑξῆς εἰς τὴν Ῥόδον, κἀκεῖθεν εἰς Πάταρα· (Ⅲ)
- Cum autem factum esset ut navigaremus abstracti ab eis, recto cursu venimus Coum, et sequenti die Rhodum, et inde Pataram. (Ⅳ)
21. 2  
And finding a ship sailing over unto Phenicia, we went aboard, and set forth.
- Et ayant trouvé un navire qui faisait la traversée vers la Phénicie, nous montâmes et partîmes. (Ⅱ)
- καὶ εὑρόντες πλοῖον διαπερῶν εἰς Φοινίκην ἐπιβάντες ἀνήχθημεν. (Ⅲ)
- Et cum invenissemus navem transfretantem in Phœnicen, ascendentes navigavimus. (Ⅳ)
21. 3  
Now when we had discovered Cyprus, we left it on the left hand, and sailed into Syria, and landed at Tyre: for there the ship was to unlade her burden.
- Quand nous fûmes en vue de l'île de Chypre, nous la laissâmes à gauche, poursuivant notre route du côté de la Syrie, et nous abordâmes à Tyr, où le bâtiment devait décharger sa cargaison. (Ⅱ)
- ⸀ἀναφάναντες δὲ τὴν Κύπρον καὶ καταλιπόντες αὐτὴν εὐώνυμον ἐπλέομεν εἰς Συρίαν, καὶ ⸀κατήλθομεν εἰς Τύρον, ἐκεῖσε γὰρ ⸂τὸ πλοῖον ἦν⸃ ἀποφορτιζόμενον τὸν γόμον. (Ⅲ)
- Cum apparuissemus autem Cypro, relinquentes eam ad sinistram, navigavimus in Syriam, et venimus Tyrum : ibi enim navis expositura erat onus. (Ⅳ)
21. 4  
And finding disciples, we tarried there seven days: who said to Paul through the Spirit, that he should not go up to Jerusalem.
- Nous trouvâmes les disciples, et nous restâmes là sept jours. Les disciples, poussés par l'Esprit, disaient à Paul de ne pas monter à Jérusalem. (Ⅱ)
- ⸂ἀνευρόντες δὲ τοὺς⸃ μαθητὰς ἐπεμείναμεν αὐτοῦ ἡμέρας ἑπτά, οἵτινες τῷ Παύλῳ ἔλεγον διὰ τοῦ πνεύματος μὴ ⸀ἐπιβαίνειν εἰς ⸀Ἱεροσόλυμα. (Ⅲ)
- Inventis autem discipulis, mansimus ibi diebus septem : qui Paulo dicebant per Spiritum ne ascenderet Jerosolymam. (Ⅳ)
21. 5  
And when we had accomplished those days, we departed and went our way; and they all brought us on our way, with wives and children, till we were out of the city: and we kneeled down on the shore, and prayed.
- Mais, lorsque nous fûmes au terme des sept jours, nous nous acheminâmes pour partir, et tous nous accompagnèrent avec leur femme et leurs enfants jusque hors de la ville. Nous nous mîmes à genoux sur le rivage, et nous priâmes. (Ⅱ)
- ὅτε δὲ ἐγένετο ⸂ἐξαρτίσαι ἡμᾶς⸃ τὰς ἡμέρας, ἐξελθόντες ἐπορευόμεθα προπεμπόντων ἡμᾶς πάντων σὺν γυναιξὶ καὶ τέκνοις ἕως ἔξω τῆς πόλεως, καὶ θέντες τὰ γόνατα ἐπὶ τὸν αἰγιαλὸν ⸀προσευξάμενοι (Ⅲ)
- Et expletis diebus, profecti ibamus, deducentibus nos omnibus cum uxoribus et filiis usque foras civitatem : et positis genibus in littore, oravimus. (Ⅳ)
21. 6  
And when we had taken our leave one of another, we took ship; and they returned home again.
- Puis, ayant pris congé les uns des autres, nous montâmes sur le navire, et ils retournèrent chez eux. (Ⅱ)
- ⸂ἀπησπασάμεθα ἀλλήλους, καὶ⸃ ⸀ἐνέβημεν εἰς τὸ πλοῖον, ἐκεῖνοι δὲ ὑπέστρεψαν εἰς τὰ ἴδια. (Ⅲ)
- Et cum valefecissemus invicem, ascendimus navem : illi autem redierunt in sua. (Ⅳ)
21. 7  
And when we had finished our course from Tyre, we came to Ptolemais, and saluted the brethren, and abode with them one day.
- Achevant notre navigation, nous allâmes de Tyr à Ptolémaïs, où nous saluâmes les frères, et passâmes un jour avec eux. (Ⅱ)
- Ἡμεῖς δὲ τὸν πλοῦν διανύσαντες ἀπὸ Τύρου κατηντήσαμεν εἰς Πτολεμαΐδα, καὶ ἀσπασάμενοι τοὺς ἀδελφοὺς ἐμείναμεν ἡμέραν μίαν παρ’ αὐτοῖς. (Ⅲ)
- Nos vero navigatione expleta a Tyro descendimus Ptolemaidam : et salutatis fratribus, mansimus die una apud illos. (Ⅳ)
21. 8  
And the next day we that were of Paul's company departed, and came unto Caesarea: and we entered into the house of Philip the evangelist, which was one of the seven; and abode with him.
- Nous partîmes le lendemain, et nous arrivâmes à Césarée. Étant entrés dans la maison de Philippe l'évangéliste, qui était l'un des sept, nous logeâmes chez lui. (Ⅱ)
- τῇ δὲ ἐπαύριον ἐξελθόντες ⸀ἤλθομεν εἰς Καισάρειαν, καὶ εἰσελθόντες εἰς τὸν οἶκον Φιλίππου τοῦ εὐαγγελιστοῦ ὄντος ἐκ τῶν ἑπτὰ ἐμείναμεν παρ’ αὐτῷ. (Ⅲ)
- Alia autem die profecti, venimus Cæsaream. Et intrantes domum Philippi evangelistæ, qui erat unus de septem, mansimus apud eum. (Ⅳ)
21. 9  
And the same man had four daughters, virgins, which did prophesy.
- Il avait quatre filles vierges qui prophétisaient. (Ⅱ)
- τούτῳ δὲ ἦσαν θυγατέρες ⸂τέσσαρες παρθένοι⸃ προφητεύουσαι. (Ⅲ)
- Huic autem erant quatuor filiæ virgines prophetantes.\ (Ⅳ)
21. 10  
And as we tarried there many days, there came down from Judaea a certain prophet, named Agabus.
- Comme nous étions là depuis plusieurs jours, un prophète, nommé Agabus, descendit de Judée, (Ⅱ)
- ἐπιμενόντων ⸀δὲ ἡμέρας πλείους κατῆλθέν τις ἀπὸ τῆς Ἰουδαίας προφήτης ὀνόματι Ἅγαβος, (Ⅲ)
- Et cum moraremur per dies aliquot, supervenit quidam a Judæa propheta, nomine Agabus. (Ⅳ)
21. 11  
And when he was come unto us, he took Paul's girdle, and bound his own hands and feet, and said, Thus saith the Holy Ghost, So shall the Jews at Jerusalem bind the man that owneth this girdle, and shall deliver him into the hands of the Gentiles.
- et vint nous trouver. Il prit la ceinture de Paul, se lia les pieds et les mains, et dit: Voici ce que déclare le Saint Esprit: L'homme à qui appartient cette ceinture, les Juifs le lieront de la même manière à Jérusalem, et le livreront entre les mains des païens. (Ⅱ)
- καὶ ἐλθὼν πρὸς ἡμᾶς καὶ ἄρας τὴν ζώνην τοῦ Παύλου δήσας ⸀ἑαυτοῦ τοὺς πόδας καὶ τὰς χεῖρας εἶπεν· Τάδε λέγει τὸ πνεῦμα τὸ ἅγιον Τὸν ἄνδρα οὗ ἐστιν ἡ ζώνη αὕτη, οὕτως δήσουσιν ἐν Ἰερουσαλὴμ οἱ Ἰουδαῖοι καὶ παραδώσουσιν εἰς χεῖρας ἐθνῶν. (Ⅲ)
- Is cum venisset ad nos, tulit zonam Pauli : et alligans sibi pedes et manus, dixit : Hæc dicit Spiritus Sanctus : Virum, cujus est zona hæc, sic alligabunt in Jerusalem Judæi, et tradent in manus gentium. (Ⅳ)
21. 12  
And when we heard these things, both we, and they of that place, besought him not to go up to Jerusalem.
- Quand nous entendîmes cela, nous et ceux de l'endroit, nous priâmes Paul de ne pas monter à Jérusalem. (Ⅱ)
- ὡς δὲ ἠκούσαμεν ταῦτα, παρεκαλοῦμεν ἡμεῖς τε καὶ οἱ ἐντόπιοι τοῦ μὴ ἀναβαίνειν αὐτὸν εἰς Ἰερουσαλήμ. (Ⅲ)
- Quod cum audissemus, rogabamus nos, et qui loci illius erant, ne ascenderet Jerosolymam. (Ⅳ)
21. 13  
Then Paul answered, What mean ye to weep and to break mine heart? for I am ready not to be bound only, but also to die at Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus.
- Alors il répondit: Que faites-vous, en pleurant et en me brisant le coeur? Je suis prêt, non seulement à être lié, mais encore à mourir à Jérusalem pour le nom du Seigneur Jésus. (Ⅱ)
- ⸂τότε ἀπεκρίθη⸃ ὁ Παῦλος· Τί ποιεῖτε κλαίοντες καὶ συνθρύπτοντές μου τὴν καρδίαν; ἐγὼ γὰρ οὐ μόνον δεθῆναι ἀλλὰ καὶ ἀποθανεῖν εἰς Ἰερουσαλὴμ ἑτοίμως ἔχω ὑπὲρ τοῦ ὀνόματος τοῦ κυρίου Ἰησοῦ. (Ⅲ)
- Tunc respondit Paulus, et dixit : Quid facitis flentes, et affligentes cor meum ? Ego enim non solum alligari, sed et mori in Jerusalem paratus sum propter nomen Domini Jesu. (Ⅳ)
21. 14  
And when he would not be persuaded, we ceased, saying, The will of the Lord be done.
- Comme il ne se laissait pas persuader, nous n'insistâmes pas, et nous dîmes: Que la volonté du Seigneur se fasse! (Ⅱ)
- μὴ πειθομένου δὲ αὐτοῦ ἡσυχάσαμεν εἰπόντες· ⸂Τοῦ κυρίου τὸ θέλημα⸃ ⸀γινέσθω. (Ⅲ)
- Et cum ei suadere non possemus, quievimus, dicentes : Domini voluntas fiat.\ (Ⅳ)
21. 15  
And after those days we took up our carriages, and went up to Jerusalem.
- Après ces jours-là, nous fîmes nos préparatifs, et nous montâmes à Jérusalem. (Ⅱ)
- Μετὰ δὲ τὰς ἡμέρας ταύτας ἐπισκευασάμενοι ἀνεβαίνομεν εἰς ⸀Ἱεροσόλυμα· (Ⅲ)
- Post dies autem istos, præparati ascendebamus in Jerusalem. (Ⅳ)
21. 16  
There went with us also certain of the disciples of Caesarea, and brought with them one Mnason of Cyprus, an old disciple, with whom we should lodge.
- Quelques disciples de Césarée vinrent aussi avec nous, et nous conduisirent chez un nommé Mnason, de l'île de Chypre, ancien disciple, chez qui nous devions loger. (Ⅱ)
- συνῆλθον δὲ καὶ τῶν μαθητῶν ἀπὸ Καισαρείας σὺν ἡμῖν, ἄγοντες παρ’ ᾧ ξενισθῶμεν Μνάσωνί τινι Κυπρίῳ, ἀρχαίῳ μαθητῇ. (Ⅲ)
- Venerunt autem et ex discipulis a Cæsarea nobiscum, adducentes secum apud quem hospitaremur Mnasonem quemdam Cyprium, antiquum discipulum. (Ⅳ)
21. 17  
And when we were come to Jerusalem, the brethren received us gladly.
- Lorsque nous arrivâmes à Jérusalem, les frères nous reçurent avec joie. (Ⅱ)
- Γενομένων δὲ ἡμῶν εἰς Ἱεροσόλυμα ἀσμένως ⸀ἀπεδέξαντο ἡμᾶς οἱ ἀδελφοί. (Ⅲ)
- Et cum venissemus Jerosolymam, libenter exceperunt nos fratres.\ (Ⅳ)
21. 18  
And the day following Paul went in with us unto James; and all the elders were present.
- Le lendemain, Paul se rendit avec nous chez Jacques, et tous les anciens s'y réunirent. (Ⅱ)
- τῇ δὲ ἐπιούσῃ εἰσῄει ὁ Παῦλος σὺν ἡμῖν πρὸς Ἰάκωβον, πάντες τε παρεγένοντο οἱ πρεσβύτεροι. (Ⅲ)
- Sequenti autem die introibat Paulus nobiscum ad Jacobum, omnesque collecti sunt seniores. (Ⅳ)
21. 19  
And when he had saluted them, he declared particularly what things God had wrought among the Gentiles by his ministry.
- Après les avoir salués, il raconta en détail ce que Dieu avait fait au milieu des païens par son ministère. (Ⅱ)
- καὶ ἀσπασάμενος αὐτοὺς ἐξηγεῖτο καθ’ ἓν ἕκαστον ὧν ἐποίησεν ὁ θεὸς ἐν τοῖς ἔθνεσιν διὰ τῆς διακονίας αὐτοῦ. (Ⅲ)
- Quos cum salutasset, narrabat per singula quæ Deus fecisset in gentibus per ministerium ipsius. (Ⅳ)
21. 20  
And when they heard it, they glorified the Lord, and said unto him, Thou seest, brother, how many thousands of Jews there are which believe; and they are all zealous of the law:
- Quand ils l'eurent entendu, ils glorifièrent Dieu. Puis ils lui dirent: Tu vois, frère, combien de milliers de Juifs ont cru, et tous sont zélés pour la loi. (Ⅱ)
- οἱ δὲ ἀκούσαντες ἐδόξαζον τὸν ⸀θεόν, ⸂εἶπόν τε⸃ αὐτῷ· Θεωρεῖς, ἀδελφέ, πόσαι μυριάδες εἰσὶν ⸂ἐν τοῖς Ἰουδαίοις⸃ τῶν πεπιστευκότων, καὶ πάντες ζηλωταὶ τοῦ νόμου ὑπάρχουσιν· (Ⅲ)
- At illi cum audissent, magnificabant Deum, dixeruntque ei : Vides, frater, quot millia sunt in Judæis qui crediderunt, et omnes æmulatores sunt legis. (Ⅳ)
21. 21  
And they are informed of thee, that thou teachest all the Jews which are among the Gentiles to forsake Moses, saying that they ought not to circumcise their children, neither to walk after the customs.
- Or, ils ont appris que tu enseignes à tous les Juifs qui sont parmi les païens à renoncer à Moïse, leur disant de ne pas circoncire les enfants et de ne pas se conformer aux coutumes. (Ⅱ)
- κατηχήθησαν δὲ περὶ σοῦ ὅτι ἀποστασίαν διδάσκεις ἀπὸ Μωϋσέως τοὺς κατὰ τὰ ἔθνη πάντας Ἰουδαίους, λέγων μὴ περιτέμνειν αὐτοὺς τὰ τέκνα μηδὲ τοῖς ἔθεσιν περιπατεῖν. (Ⅲ)
- Audierunt autem de te quia discessionem doceas a Moyse eorum qui per gentes sunt Judæorum, dicens non debere eos circumcidere filios suos, neque secundum consuetudinem ingredi. (Ⅳ)
21. 22  
What is it therefore? the multitude must needs come together: for they will hear that thou art come.
- Que faire donc? Sans aucun doute la multitude se rassemblera, car on saura que tu es venu. (Ⅱ)
- τί οὖν ἐστιν; πάντως ⸀ἀκούσονται ὅτι ἐλήλυθας. (Ⅲ)
- Quid ergo est ? utique oportet convenire multitudinem : audient enim te supervenisse. (Ⅳ)
21. 23  
Do therefore this that we say to thee: We have four men which have a vow on them;
- C'est pourquoi fais ce que nous allons te dire. Il y a parmi nous quatre hommes qui ont fait un voeu; (Ⅱ)
- τοῦτο οὖν ποίησον ὅ σοι λέγομεν· εἰσὶν ἡμῖν ἄνδρες τέσσαρες εὐχὴν ἔχοντες ⸀ἀφ’ ἑαυτῶν. (Ⅲ)
- Hoc ergo fac quod tibi dicimus. Sunt nobis viri quatuor, votum habentes super se. (Ⅳ)
21. 24  
Them take, and purify thyself with them, and be at charges with them, that they may shave their heads: and all may know that those things, whereof they were informed concerning thee, are nothing; but that thou thyself also walkest orderly, and keepest the law.
- prends-les avec toi, purifie-toi avec eux, et pourvois à leur dépense, afin qu'ils se rasent la tête. Et ainsi tous sauront que ce qu'ils ont entendu dire sur ton compte est faux, mais que toi aussi tu te conduis en observateur de la loi. (Ⅱ)
- τούτους παραλαβὼν ἁγνίσθητι σὺν αὐτοῖς καὶ δαπάνησον ἐπ’ αὐτοῖς ἵνα ⸀ξυρήσονται τὴν κεφαλήν, καὶ ⸀γνώσονται πάντες ὅτι ὧν κατήχηνται περὶ σοῦ οὐδέν ἐστιν, ἀλλὰ στοιχεῖς καὶ αὐτὸς ⸂φυλάσσων τὸν νόμον⸃. (Ⅲ)
- His assumptis, sanctifica te cum illis, et impende in illis ut radant capita : et scient omnes quia quæ de te audierunt, falsa sunt, sed ambulas et ipse custodiens legem. (Ⅳ)
21. 25  
As touching the Gentiles which believe, we have written and concluded that they observe no such thing, save only that they keep themselves from things offered to idols, and from blood, and from strangled, and from fornication.
- A l'égard des païens qui ont cru, nous avons décidé et nous leur avons écrit qu'ils eussent à s'abstenir des viandes sacrifiées aux idoles, du sang, des animaux étouffés, et de l'impudicité. (Ⅱ)
- περὶ δὲ τῶν πεπιστευκότων ἐθνῶν ἡμεῖς ⸀ἀπεστείλαμεν ⸀κρίναντες φυλάσσεσθαι αὐτοὺς τό τε εἰδωλόθυτον ⸀καὶ αἷμα καὶ πνικτὸν καὶ πορνείαν. (Ⅲ)
- De his autem qui crediderunt ex gentibus, nos scripsimus judicantes ut abstineant se ab idolis immolato, et sanguine, et suffocato, et fornicatione. (Ⅳ)
21. 26  
Then Paul took the men, and the next day purifying himself with them entered into the temple, to signify the accomplishment of the days of purification, until that an offering should be offered for every one of them.
- Alors Paul prit ces hommes, se purifia, et entra le lendemain dans le temple avec eux, pour annoncer à quel jour la purification serait accomplie et l'offrande présentée pour chacun d'eux. (Ⅱ)
- τότε ὁ Παῦλος παραλαβὼν τοὺς ἄνδρας τῇ ἐχομένῃ ἡμέρᾳ σὺν αὐτοῖς ἁγνισθεὶς εἰσῄει εἰς τὸ ἱερόν, διαγγέλλων τὴν ἐκπλήρωσιν τῶν ἡμερῶν τοῦ ἁγνισμοῦ ἕως οὗ προσηνέχθη ὑπὲρ ἑνὸς ἑκάστου αὐτῶν ἡ προσφορά. (Ⅲ)
- Tunc Paulus, assumptis viris, postera die purificatus cum illis intravit in templum, annuntians expletionem dierum purificationis, donec offerretur pro unoquoque eorum oblatio.\ (Ⅳ)
21. 27  
And when the seven days were almost ended, the Jews which were of Asia, when they saw him in the temple, stirred up all the people, and laid hands on him,
- Sur la fin des sept jours, les Juifs d'Asie, ayant vu Paul dans le temple, soulevèrent toute la foule, et mirent la main sur lui, (Ⅱ)
- Ὡς δὲ ἔμελλον αἱ ἑπτὰ ἡμέραι συντελεῖσθαι, οἱ ἀπὸ τῆς Ἀσίας Ἰουδαῖοι θεασάμενοι αὐτὸν ἐν τῷ ἱερῷ συνέχεον πάντα τὸν ὄχλον καὶ ἐπέβαλον ⸂ἐπ’ αὐτὸν τὰς χεῖρας⸃, (Ⅲ)
- Dum autem septem dies consummarentur, hi qui de Asia erant Judæi, cum vidissent eum in templo, concitaverunt omnem populum, et injecerunt ei manus, clamantes : (Ⅳ)
21. 28  
Crying out, Men of Israel, help: This is the man, that teacheth all men every where against the people, and the law, and this place: and further brought Greeks also into the temple, and hath polluted this holy place.
- en criant: Hommes Israélites, au secours! Voici l'homme qui prêche partout et à tout le monde contre le peuple, contre la loi et contre ce lieu; il a même introduit des Grecs dans le temple, et a profané ce saint lieu. (Ⅱ)
- κράζοντες· Ἄνδρες Ἰσραηλῖται, βοηθεῖτε· οὗτός ἐστιν ὁ ἄνθρωπος ὁ κατὰ τοῦ λαοῦ καὶ τοῦ νόμου καὶ τοῦ τόπου τούτου πάντας ⸀πανταχῇ διδάσκων, ἔτι τε καὶ Ἕλληνας εἰσήγαγεν εἰς τὸ ἱερὸν καὶ κεκοίνωκεν τὸν ἅγιον τόπον τοῦτον. (Ⅲ)
- Viri Israëlitæ, adjuvate : hic est homo qui adversus populum, et legem, et locum hunc, omnes ubique docens, insuper et gentiles induxit in templum, et violavit sanctum locum istum. (Ⅳ)
21. 29  
(For they had seen before with him in the city Trophimus an Ephesian, whom they supposed that Paul had brought into the temple.)
- Car ils avaient vu auparavant Trophime d'Éphèse avec lui dans la ville, et ils croyaient que Paul l'avait fait entrer dans le temple. (Ⅱ)
- ἦσαν γὰρ ⸀προεωρακότες Τρόφιμον τὸν Ἐφέσιον ἐν τῇ πόλει σὺν αὐτῷ, ὃν ἐνόμιζον ὅτι εἰς τὸ ἱερὸν εἰσήγαγεν ὁ Παῦλος. (Ⅲ)
- Viderant enim Trophimum Ephesium in civitate cum ipso, quem æstimaverunt quoniam in templum introduxisset Paulus. (Ⅳ)
21. 30  
And all the city was moved, and the people ran together: and they took Paul, and drew him out of the temple: and forthwith the doors were shut.
- Toute la ville fut émue, et le peuple accourut de toutes parts. Ils se saisirent de Paul, et le traînèrent hors du temple, dont les portes furent aussitôt fermées. (Ⅱ)
- ἐκινήθη τε ἡ πόλις ὅλη καὶ ἐγένετο συνδρομὴ τοῦ λαοῦ, καὶ ἐπιλαβόμενοι τοῦ Παύλου εἷλκον αὐτὸν ἔξω τοῦ ἱεροῦ, καὶ εὐθέως ἐκλείσθησαν αἱ θύραι. (Ⅲ)
- Commotaque est civitas tota, et facta est concursio populi. Et apprehendentes Paulum, trahebant eum extra templum : et statim clausæ sunt januæ. (Ⅳ)
21. 31  
And as they went about to kill him, tidings came unto the chief captain of the band, that all Jerusalem was in an uproar.
- Comme ils cherchaient à le tuer, le bruit vint au tribun de la cohorte que tout Jérusalem était en confusion. (Ⅱ)
- ζητούντων ⸀τε αὐτὸν ἀποκτεῖναι ἀνέβη φάσις τῷ χιλιάρχῳ τῆς σπείρης ὅτι ὅλη ⸀συγχύννεται Ἰερουσαλήμ, (Ⅲ)

21. 32  
Who immediately took soldiers and centurions, and ran down unto them: and when they saw the chief captain and the soldiers, they left beating of Paul.
- A l'instant il prit des soldats et des centeniers, et courut à eux. Voyant le tribun et les soldats, ils cessèrent de frapper Paul. (Ⅱ)
- ὃς ἐξαυτῆς παραλαβὼν στρατιώτας καὶ ἑκατοντάρχας κατέδραμεν ἐπ’ αὐτούς, οἱ δὲ ἰδόντες τὸν χιλίαρχον καὶ τοὺς στρατιώτας ἐπαύσαντο τύπτοντες τὸν Παῦλον. (Ⅲ)
- Qui statim, assumptis militibus et centurionibus, decurrit ad illos. Qui cum vidissent tribunum et milites, cessaverunt percutere Paulum. (Ⅳ)
21. 33  
Then the chief captain came near, and took him, and commanded him to be bound with two chains; and demanded who he was, and what he had done.
- Alors le tribun s'approcha, se saisit de lui, et le fit lier de deux chaînes. Puis il demanda qui il était, et ce qu'il avait fait. (Ⅱ)
- ⸂τότε ἐγγίσας⸃ ὁ χιλίαρχος ἐπελάβετο αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐκέλευσε δεθῆναι ἁλύσεσι δυσί, καὶ ἐπυνθάνετο ⸀τίς εἴη καὶ τί ἐστιν πεποιηκώς. (Ⅲ)
- Tunc accedens tribunus apprehendit eum, et jussit eum alligari catenis duabus : et interrogabat quis esset, et quid fecisset. (Ⅳ)
21. 34  
And some cried one thing, some another, among the multitude: and when he could not know the certainty for the tumult, he commanded him to be carried into the castle.
- Mais dans la foule les uns criaient d'une manière, les autres d'une autre; ne pouvant donc rien apprendre de certain, à cause du tumulte, il ordonna de le mener dans la forteresse. (Ⅱ)
- ἄλλοι δὲ ἄλλο τι ⸀ἐπεφώνουν ἐν τῷ ὄχλῳ· μὴ ⸂δυναμένου δὲ αὐτοῦ⸃ γνῶναι τὸ ἀσφαλὲς διὰ τὸν θόρυβον ἐκέλευσεν ἄγεσθαι αὐτὸν εἰς τὴν παρεμβολήν. (Ⅲ)
- Alii autem aliud clamabant in turba. Et cum non posset certum cognoscere præ tumultu, jussit duci eum in castra. (Ⅳ)
21. 35  
And when he came upon the stairs, so it was, that he was borne of the soldiers for the violence of the people.
- Lorsque Paul fut sur les degrés, il dut être porté par les soldats, à cause de la violence de la foule; (Ⅱ)
- ὅτε δὲ ἐγένετο ἐπὶ τοὺς ἀναβαθμούς, συνέβη βαστάζεσθαι αὐτὸν ὑπὸ τῶν στρατιωτῶν διὰ τὴν βίαν τοῦ ὄχλου, (Ⅲ)
- Et cum venisset ad gradus, contigit ut portaretur a militibus propter vim populi. (Ⅳ)
21. 36  
For the multitude of the people followed after, crying, Away with him.
- car la multitude du peuple suivait, en criant: Fais-le mourir! (Ⅱ)
- ἠκολούθει γὰρ τὸ πλῆθος τοῦ λαοῦ ⸀κράζοντες· Αἶρε αὐτόν. (Ⅲ)
- Sequebatur enim multitudo populi, clamans : Tolle eum. (Ⅳ)
21. 37  
And as Paul was to be led into the castle, he said unto the chief captain, May I speak unto thee? Who said, Canst thou speak Greek?
- Au moment d'être introduit dans la forteresse, Paul dit au tribun: M'est-il permis de te dire quelque chose? Le tribun répondit: Tu sais le grec? (Ⅱ)
- Μέλλων τε εἰσάγεσθαι εἰς τὴν παρεμβολὴν ὁ Παῦλος λέγει τῷ χιλιάρχῳ· Εἰ ἔξεστίν μοι εἰπεῖν ⸀τι πρὸς σέ; ὁ δὲ ἔφη· Ἑλληνιστὶ γινώσκεις; (Ⅲ)
- Et cum cœpisset induci in castra Paulus, dicit tribuno : Si licet mihi loqui aliquid ad te ? Qui dixit : Græce nosti ? (Ⅳ)
21. 38  
Art not thou that Egyptian, which before these days madest an uproar, and leddest out into the wilderness four thousand men that were murderers?
- Tu n'es donc pas cet Égyptien qui s'est révolté dernièrement, et qui a emmené dans le désert quatre mille brigands? (Ⅱ)
- οὐκ ἄρα σὺ εἶ ὁ Αἰγύπτιος ὁ πρὸ τούτων τῶν ἡμερῶν ἀναστατώσας καὶ ἐξαγαγὼν εἰς τὴν ἔρημον τοὺς τετρακισχιλίους ἄνδρας τῶν σικαρίων; (Ⅲ)
- nonne tu es Ægyptius, qui ante hos dies tumultum concitasti, et eduxisti in desertum quatuor millia virorum sicariorum ? (Ⅳ)
21. 39  
But Paul said, I am a man which am a Jew of Tarsus, a city in Cilicia, a citizen of no mean city: and, I beseech thee, suffer me to speak unto the people.
- Je suis Juif, reprit Paul, de Tarse en Cilicie, citoyen d'une ville qui n'est pas sans importance. Permets-moi, je te prie, de parler au peuple. (Ⅱ)
- εἶπεν δὲ ὁ Παῦλος· Ἐγὼ ἄνθρωπος μέν εἰμι Ἰουδαῖος, Ταρσεὺς τῆς Κιλικίας, οὐκ ἀσήμου πόλεως πολίτης· δέομαι δέ σου, ἐπίτρεψόν μοι λαλῆσαι πρὸς τὸν λαόν. (Ⅲ)
- Et dixit ad eum Paulus : Ego homo sum quidem Judæus a Tarso Ciliciæ, non ignotæ civitatis municeps. Rogo autem te, permitte mihi loqui ad populum. (Ⅳ)
21. 40  
And when he had given him licence, Paul stood on the stairs, and beckoned with the hand unto the people. And when there was made a great silence, he spake unto them in the Hebrew tongue, saying,
- Le tribun le lui ayant permis, Paul, debout sur les degrés, fit signe de la main au peuple. Un profond silence s'établit, et Paul, parlant en langue hébraïque, dit: (Ⅱ)
- ἐπιτρέψαντος δὲ αὐτοῦ ὁ Παῦλος ἑστὼς ἐπὶ τῶν ἀναβαθμῶν κατέσεισε τῇ χειρὶ τῷ λαῷ, πολλῆς δὲ σιγῆς γενομένης ⸀προσεφώνησεν τῇ Ἑβραΐδι διαλέκτῳ λέγων (Ⅲ)
- Et cum ille permisisset, Paulus stans in gradibus annuit manu ad plebem, et magno silentio facto, allocutus est lingua hebræa, dicens : (Ⅳ)
