17. 1

Thou shalt not sacrifice unto the LORD thy God any bullock, or sheep, wherein is blemish, or any evilfavouredness: for that is an abomination unto the LORD thy God.

- Tu n'offriras en sacrifice à l'Éternel, ton Dieu, ni boeuf, ni agneau qui ait quelque défaut ou difformité; car ce serait en abomination à l'Éternel, ton Dieu. (Ⅱ)

- οὐ θύσεις κυρίω̨ τω̨̃ θεω̨̃ σου μόσχον ἢ πρόβατον ἐν ὡ̨̃ ἐστιν ἐν αὐτω̨̃ μω̃μος πα̃ν ῥη̃μα πονηρόν ὅτι βδέλυγμα κυρίω̨ τω̨̃ θεω̨̃ σού ἐστιν (Ⅲ)

- Non immolabis Domino Deo tuo ovem, et bovem, in quo est macula, aut quippiam vitii : quia abominatio est Domino Deo tuo. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 1 ׃17 לא תזבח ליהוה אלהיך שור ושה אשר יהיה בו מום כל דבר רע כי תועבת יהוה אלהיך הוא ס‬ (Ⅴ)

17. 2

If there be found among you, within any of thy gates which the LORD thy God giveth thee, man or woman, that hath wrought wickedness in the sight of the LORD thy God, in transgressing his covenant,

- Il se trouvera peut-être au milieu de toi dans l'une des villes que l'Éternel, ton Dieu, te donne, un homme ou une femme faisant ce qui est mal aux yeux de l'Éternel, ton Dieu, et transgressant son alliance; (Ⅱ)

- ἐὰν δὲ εὑρεθη̨̃ ἐν σοὶ ἐν μια̨̃ τω̃ν πόλεών σου ὡ̃ν κύριος ὁ θεός σου δίδωσίν σοι ἀνὴρ ἢ γυνή ὅστις ποιήσει τὸ πονηρὸν ἐναντίον κυρίου του̃ θεου̃ σου παρελθει̃ν τὴν διαθήκην αὐτου̃ (Ⅲ)

- Cum reperti fuerint apud te intra unam portarum tuarum, quas Dominus Deus tuus dabit tibi, vir aut mulier qui faciant malum in conspectu Domini Dei tui, et transgrediantur pactum illius, (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 2 ׃17 כי ימצא בקרבך באחד שעריך אשר יהוה אלהיך נתן לך איש או אשה אשר יעשה את הרע בעיני יהוה אלהיך לעבר בריתו ‬ (Ⅴ)

17. 3

And hath gone and served other gods, and worshipped them, either the sun, or moon, or any of the host of heaven, which I have not commanded;

- allant après d'autres dieux pour les servir et se prosterner devant eux, après le soleil, la lune, ou toute l'armée des cieux. Ce n'est point là ce que j'ai commandé. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐλθόντες λατρεύσωσιν θεοι̃ς ἑτέροις καὶ προσκυνήσωσιν αὐτοι̃ς τω̨̃ ἡλίω̨ ἢ τη̨̃ σελήνη̨ ἢ παντὶ τω̃ν ἐκ του̃ κόσμου του̃ οὐρανου̃ ἃ οὐ προσέταξεν (Ⅲ)

- ut vadant et servant diis alienis, et adorent eos, solem et lunam, et omnem militiam cæli, quæ non præcepi : (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 3 ׃17 וילך ויעבד אלהים אחרים וישתחו להם ולשמש או לירח או לכל צבא השמים אשר לא צויתי ‬ (Ⅴ)

17. 4

And it be told thee, and thou hast heard of it, and inquired diligently, and, behold, it be true, and the thing certain, that such abomination is wrought in Israel:

- Dès que tu en auras connaissance, dès que tu l'auras appris, tu feras avec soin des recherches. La chose est-elle vraie, le fait est-il établi, cette abomination a-t-elle été commise en Israël, (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἀναγγελη̨̃ σοι καὶ ἐκζητήσεις σφόδρα καὶ ἰδοὺ ἀληθω̃ς γέγονεν τὸ ῥη̃μα γεγένηται τὸ βδέλυγμα του̃το ἐν Ισραηλ (Ⅲ)

- et hoc tibi fuerit nuntiatum, audiensque inquisieris diligenter et verum esse repereris, et abominatio facta est in Israël : (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 4 ׃17 והגד לך ושמעת ודרשת היטב והנה אמת נכון הדבר נעשתה התועבה הזאת בישראל ‬ (Ⅴ)

17. 5

Then shalt thou bring forth that man or that woman, which have committed that wicked thing, unto thy gates, even that man or that woman, and shalt stone them with stones, till they die.

- alors tu feras venir à tes portes l'homme ou la femme qui sera coupable de cette mauvaise action, et tu lapideras ou puniras de mort cet homme ou cette femme. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐξάξεις τὸν ἄνθρωπον ἐκει̃νον ἢ τὴν γυναι̃κα ἐκείνην καὶ λιθοβολήσετε αὐτοὺς ἐν λίθοις καὶ τελευτήσουσιν (Ⅲ)

- educes virum ac mulierem, qui rem sceleratissimam perpetrarunt, ad portas civitatis tuæ, et lapidibus obruentur. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 5 ׃17 והוצאת את האיש ההוא או את האשה ההוא אשר עשו את הדבר הרע הזה אל שעריך את האיש או את האשה וסקלתם באבנים ומתו ‬ (Ⅴ)

17. 6

At the mouth of two witnesses, or three witnesses, shall he that is worthy of death be put to death; but at the mouth of one witness he shall not be put to death.

- Celui qui mérite la mort sera exécuté sur la déposition de deux ou de trois témoins; il ne sera pas mis à mort sur la déposition d'un seul témoin. (Ⅱ)

- ἐπὶ δυσὶν μάρτυσιν ἢ ἐπὶ τρισὶν μάρτυσιν ἀποθανει̃ται ὁ ἀποθνή̨σκων οὐκ ἀποθανει̃ται ἐφ' ἑνὶ μάρτυρι (Ⅲ)

- In ore duorum aut trium testium peribit qui interficietur. Nemo occidatur, uno contra se dicente testimonium. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 6 ׃17 על פי שנים עדים או שלשה עדים יומת המת לא יומת על פי עד אחד ‬ (Ⅴ)

17. 7

The hands of the witnesses shall be first upon him to put him to death, and afterward the hands of all the people. So thou shalt put the evil away from among you.

- La main des témoins se lèvera la première sur lui pour le faire mourir, et la main de tout le peuple ensuite. Tu ôteras ainsi le mal du milieu de toi. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἡ χεὶρ τω̃ν μαρτύρων ἔσται ἐπ' αὐτω̨̃ ἐν πρώτοις θανατω̃σαι αὐτόν καὶ ἡ χεὶρ παντὸς του̃ λαου̃ ἐπ' ἐσχάτων καὶ ἐξαρει̃ς τὸν πονηρὸν ἐξ ὑμω̃ν αὐτω̃ν (Ⅲ)

- Manus testium prima interficiet eum, et manus reliqui populi extrema mittetur : ut auferas malum de medio tui.\ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 7 ׃17 יד העדים תהיה בו בראשנה להמיתו ויד כל העם באחרנה ובערת הרע מקרבך פ‬ (Ⅴ)

17. 8

If there arise a matter too hard for thee in judgment, between blood and blood, between plea and plea, and between stroke and stroke, being matters of controversy within thy gates: then shalt thou arise, and get thee up into the place which the LORD thy God shall choose;

- Si une cause relative à un meurtre, à un différend, à une blessure, te paraît trop difficile à juger et fournit matière à contestation dans tes portes, tu te lèveras et tu monteras au lieu que l'Éternel, ton Dieu, choisira. (Ⅱ)

- ἐὰν δὲ ἀδυνατήση̨ ἀπὸ σου̃ ῥη̃μα ἐν κρίσει ἀνὰ μέσον αἱ̃μα αἵματος καὶ ἀνὰ μέσον κρίσις κρίσεως καὶ ἀνὰ μέσον ἁφὴ ἁφη̃ς καὶ ἀνὰ μέσον ἀντιλογία ἀντιλογίας ῥήματα κρίσεως ἐν ται̃ς πόλεσιν ὑμω̃ν καὶ ἀναστὰς ἀναβήση̨ εἰς τὸν τόπον ὃν ἂν ἐκλέξηται κύριος ὁ θεός σου ἐπικληθη̃ναι τὸ ὄνομα αὐτου̃ ἐκει̃ (Ⅲ)

- Si difficile et ambiguum apud te judicium esse perspexeris inter sanguinem et sanguinem, causam et causam, lepram et lepram : et judicum intra portas tuas videris verba variari : surge, et ascende ad locum, quem elegerit Dominus Deus tuus. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 8 ׃17 כי יפלא ממך‪[C]‬‪[c]‬ דבר למשפט בין דם לדם בין דין לדין ובין נגע לנגע דברי ריבת בשעריך וקמת ועלית אל המקום אשר יבחר יהוה אלהיך בו ‬ (Ⅴ)

17. 9

And thou shalt come unto the priests the Levites, and unto the judge that shall be in those days, and inquire; and they shall show thee the sentence of judgment:

- Tu iras vers les sacrificateurs, les Lévites, et vers celui qui remplira alors les fonctions de juge; tu les consulteras, et ils te feront connaître la sentence. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐλεύση̨ πρὸς τοὺς ἱερει̃ς τοὺς Λευίτας καὶ πρὸς τὸν κριτήν ὃς ἂν γένηται ἐν ται̃ς ἡμέραις ἐκείναις καὶ ἐκζητήσαντες ἀναγγελου̃σίν σοι τὴν κρίσιν (Ⅲ)

- Veniesque ad sacerdotes Levitici generis, et ad judicem qui fuerit illo tempore : quæresque ab eis, qui indicabunt tibi judicii veritatem. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 9 ׃17 ובאת אל הכהנים הלוים ואל השפט אשר יהיה בימים ההם ודרשת והגידו לך את דבר המשפט ‬ (Ⅴ)

17. 10

And thou shalt do according to the sentence, which they of that place which the LORD shall choose shall show thee; and thou shalt observe to do according to all that they inform thee:

- Tu te conformeras à ce qu'ils te diront dans le lieu que choisira l'Éternel, et tu auras soin d'agir d'après tout ce qu'ils t'enseigneront. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ποιήσεις κατὰ τὸ πρα̃γμα ὃ ἐὰν ἀναγγείλωσίν σοι ἐκ του̃ τόπου οὑ̃ ἂν ἐκλέξηται κύριος ὁ θεός σου ἐπικληθη̃ναι τὸ ὄνομα αὐτου̃ ἐκει̃ καὶ φυλάξη̨ σφόδρα ποιη̃σαι κατὰ πάντα ὅσα ἐὰν νομοθετηθη̨̃ σοι (Ⅲ)

- Et facies quodcumque dixerint qui præsunt loco quem elegerit Dominus, et docuerint te (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 10 ׃17 ועשית על פי הדבר אשר יגידו לך מן המקום ההוא אשר יבחר יהוה ושמרת לעשות ככל אשר יורוך ‬ (Ⅴ)

17. 11

According to the sentence of the law which they shall teach thee, and according to the judgment which they shall tell thee, thou shalt do: thou shalt not decline from the sentence which they shall show thee, to the right hand, nor to the left.

- Tu te conformeras à la loi qu'ils t'enseigneront et à la sentence qu'ils auront prononcée; tu ne te détourneras de ce qu'ils te diront ni à droite ni à gauche. (Ⅱ)

- κατὰ τὸν νόμον καὶ κατὰ τὴν κρίσιν ἣν ἂν εἴπωσίν σοι ποιήσεις οὐκ ἐκκλινει̃ς ἀπὸ του̃ ῥήματος οὑ̃ ἐὰν ἀναγγείλωσίν σοι δεξιὰ οὐδὲ ἀριστερά (Ⅲ)

- juxta legem ejus, sequerisque sententiam eorum, nec declinabis ad dexteram neque ad sinistram. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 11 ׃17 על פי התורה אשר יורוך ועל המשפט אשר יאמרו לך תעשה לא תסור מן הדבר אשר יגידו לך ימין ושמאל ‬ (Ⅴ)

17. 12

And the man that will do presumptuously, and will not hearken unto the priest that standeth to minister there before the LORD thy God, or unto the judge, even that man shall die: and thou shalt put away the evil from Israel.

- L'homme qui, par orgueil, n'écoutera pas le sacrificateur placé là pour servir l'Éternel, ton Dieu, ou qui n'écoutera pas le juge, cet homme sera puni de mort. Tu ôteras ainsi le mal du milieu d'Israël, (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ὁ ἄνθρωπος ὃς ἂν ποιήση̨ ἐν ὑπερηφανία̨ του̃ μὴ ὑπακου̃σαι του̃ ἱερέως του̃ παρεστηκότος λειτουργει̃ν ἐπὶ τω̨̃ ὀνόματι κυρίου του̃ θεου̃ σου ἢ του̃ κριτου̃ ὃς ἂν ἠ̨̃ ἐν ται̃ς ἡμέραις ἐκείναις καὶ ἀποθανει̃ται ὁ ἄνθρωπος ἐκει̃νος καὶ ἐξαρει̃ς τὸν πονηρὸν ἐξ Ισραηλ (Ⅲ)

- Qui autem superbierit, nolens obedire sacerdotis imperio, qui eo tempore ministrat Domino Deo tuo, et decreto judicis, morietur homo ille, et auferes malum de Israël : (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 12 ׃17 והאיש אשר יעשה בזדון לבלתי שמע אל הכהן העמד לשרת שם את יהוה אלהיך או אל השפט ומת האיש ההוא ובערת הרע מישראל ‬ (Ⅴ)

17. 13

And all the people shall hear, and fear, and do no more presumptuously.

- afin que tout le peuple entende et craigne, et qu'il ne se livre plus à l'orgueil. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ πα̃ς ὁ λαὸς ἀκούσας φοβηθήσεται καὶ οὐκ ἀσεβήσει ἔτι (Ⅲ)

- cunctusque populus audiens timebit, ut nullus deinceps intumescat superbia.\ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 13 ׃17 וכל העם ישמעו ויראו ולא יזידון עוד ס‬ (Ⅴ)

17. 14

When thou art come unto the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee, and shalt possess it, and shalt dwell therein, and shalt say, I will set a king over me, like as all the nations that are about me;

- Lorsque tu seras entré dans le pays que l'Éternel, ton Dieu, te donne, lorsque tu le posséderas, que tu y auras établi ta demeure, et que tu diras: Je veux mettre un roi sur moi, comme toutes les nations qui m'entourent, - (Ⅱ)

- ἐὰν δὲ εἰσέλθη̨ς εἰς τὴν γη̃ν ἣν κύριος ὁ θεός σου δίδωσίν σοι ἐν κλήρω̨ καὶ κληρονομήση̨ς αὐτὴν καὶ κατοικήση̨ς ἐπ' αὐτη̃ς καὶ εἴπη̨ς καταστήσω ἐπ' ἐμαυτὸν ἄρχοντα καθὰ καὶ τὰ λοιπὰ ἔθνη τὰ κύκλω̨ μου (Ⅲ)

- Cum ingressus fueris terram, quam Dominus Deus tuus dabit tibi, et possederis eam, habitaverisque in illa, et dixeris : Constituam super me regem, sicut habent omnes per circuitum nationes : (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 14 ׃17 כי תבא אל הארץ אשר יהוה אלהיך נתן לך וירשתה וישבתה בה ואמרת אשימה עלי מלך ככל הגוים אשר סביבתי ‬ (Ⅴ)

17. 15

Thou shalt in any wise set him king over thee, whom the LORD thy God shall choose: one from among thy brethren shalt thou set king over thee: thou mayest not set a stranger over thee, which is not thy brother.

- tu mettras sur toi un roi que choisira l'Éternel, ton Dieu, tu prendras un roi du milieu de tes frères, tu ne pourras pas te donner un étranger, qui ne soit pas ton frère. (Ⅱ)

- καθιστω̃ν καταστήσεις ἐπὶ σεαυτὸν ἄρχοντα ὃν ἂν ἐκλέξηται κύριος ὁ θεός σου αὐτόν ἐκ τω̃ν ἀδελφω̃ν σου καταστήσεις ἐπὶ σεαυτὸν ἄρχοντα οὐ δυνήση̨ καταστη̃σαι ἐπὶ σεαυτὸν ἄνθρωπον ἀλλότριον ὅτι οὐκ ἀδελφός σού ἐστιν (Ⅲ)

- eum constitues, quem Dominus Deus tuus elegerit de numero fratrum tuorum. Non poteris alterius gentis hominem regem facere, qui non sit frater tuus. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 15 ׃17 שום תשים עליך מלך אשר יבחר יהוה אלהיך בו מקרב אחיך תשים עליך מלך לא תוכל לתת עליך איש נכרי אשר לא אחיך הוא ‬ (Ⅴ)

17. 16

But he shall not multiply horses to himself, nor cause the people to return to Egypt, to the end that he should multiply horses: forasmuch as the LORD hath said unto you, Ye shall henceforth return no more that way.

- Mais qu'il n'ait pas un grand nombre de chevaux; et qu'il ne ramène pas le peuple en Égypte pour avoir beaucoup de chevaux; car l'Éternel vous a dit: Vous ne retournerez plus par ce chemin-là. (Ⅱ)

- διότι οὐ πληθυνει̃ ἑαυτω̨̃ ἵππον οὐδὲ μὴ ἀποστρέψη̨ τὸν λαὸν εἰς Αἴγυπτον ὅπως πληθύνη̨ ἑαυτω̨̃ ἵππον ὁ δὲ κύριος εἰ̃πεν οὐ προσθήσετε ἀποστρέψαι τη̨̃ ὁδω̨̃ ταύτη̨ ἔτι (Ⅲ)

- Cumque fuerit constitutus, non multiplicabit sibi equos, nec reducet populum in Ægyptum, equitatus numero sublevatus, præsertim cum Dominus præceperit vobis ut nequaquam amplius per eamdem viam revertamini. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 16 ׃17 רק לא ירבה לו סוסים ולא ישיב את העם מצרימה למען הרבות סוס ויהוה אמר לכם לא תספון לשוב בדרך הזה עוד ‬ (Ⅴ)

17. 17

Neither shall he multiply wives to himself, that his heart turn not away: neither shall he greatly multiply to himself silver and gold.

- Qu'il n'ait pas un grand nombre de femmes, afin que son coeur ne se détourne point; et qu'il ne fasse pas de grands amas d'argent et d'or. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ οὐ πληθυνει̃ ἑαυτω̨̃ γυναι̃κας οὐδὲ μεταστήσεται αὐτου̃ ἡ καρδία καὶ ἀργύριον καὶ χρυσίον οὐ πληθυνει̃ ἑαυτω̨̃ σφόδρα (Ⅲ)

- Non habebit uxores plurimas, quæ alliciant animum ejus, neque argenti et auri immensa pondera. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 17 ׃17 ולא ירבה לו נשים ולא יסור לבבו וכסף וזהב לא ירבה לו מאד ‬ (Ⅴ)

17. 18

And it shall be, when he sitteth upon the throne of his kingdom, that he shall write him a copy of this law in a book out of that which is before the priests the Levites:

- Quand il s'assiéra sur le trône de son royaume, il écrira pour lui, dans un livre, une copie de cette loi, qu'il prendra auprès des sacrificateurs, les Lévites. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἔσται ὅταν καθίση̨ ἐπὶ τη̃ς ἀρχη̃ς αὐτου̃ καὶ γράψει ἑαυτω̨̃ τὸ δευτερονόμιον του̃το εἰς βιβλίον παρὰ τω̃ν ἱερέων τω̃ν Λευιτω̃ν (Ⅲ)

- Postquam autem sederit in solio regni sui, describet sibi Deuteronomium legis hujus in volumine, accipiens exemplar a sacerdotibus Leviticæ tribus, (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 18 ׃17 והיה כשבתו על כסא ממלכתו וכתב לו את משנה התורה הזאת על ספר מלפני הכהנים הלוים ‬ (Ⅴ)

17. 19

And it shall be with him, and he shall read therein all the days of his life: that he may learn to fear the LORD his God, to keep all the words of this law and these statutes, to do them:

- Il devra l'avoir avec lui et y lire tous les jours de sa vie, afin qu'il apprenne à craindre l'Éternel, son Dieu, à observer et à mettre en pratique toutes les paroles de cette loi et toutes ces ordonnances; (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἔσται μετ' αὐτου̃ καὶ ἀναγνώσεται ἐν αὐτω̨̃ πάσας τὰς ἡμέρας τη̃ς ζωη̃ς αὐτου̃ ἵνα μάθη̨ φοβει̃σθαι κύριον τὸν θεὸν αὐτου̃ φυλάσσεσθαι πάσας τὰς ἐντολὰς ταύτας καὶ τὰ δικαιώματα ταυ̃τα ποιει̃ν (Ⅲ)

- et habebit secum, legetque illud omnibus diebus vitæ suæ, ut discat timere Dominum Deum suum, et custodire verba et cæremonias ejus, quæ in lege præcepta sunt. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 19 ׃17 והיתה עמו וקרא בו כל ימי חייו למען ילמד ליראה את יהוה אלהיו לשמר את כל דברי התורה הזאת ואת החקים האלה לעשתם ‬ (Ⅴ)

17. 20

That his heart be not lifted up above his brethren, and that he turn not aside from the commandment, to the right hand, or to the left: to the end that he may prolong his days in his kingdom, he, and his children, in the midst of Israel.

- afin que son coeur ne s'élève point au-dessus de ses frères, et qu'il ne se détourne de ces commandements ni à droite ni à gauche; afin qu'il prolonge ses jours dans son royaume, lui et ses enfants, au milieu d'Israël. (Ⅱ)

- ἵνα μὴ ὑψωθη̨̃ ἡ καρδία αὐτου̃ ἀπὸ τω̃ν ἀδελφω̃ν αὐτου̃ ἵνα μὴ παραβη̨̃ ἀπὸ τω̃ν ἐντολω̃ν δεξιὰ ἢ ἀριστερά ὅπως ἂν μακροχρονίση̨ ἐπὶ τη̃ς ἀρχη̃ς αὐτου̃ αὐτὸς καὶ οἱ υἱοὶ αὐτου̃ ἐν τοι̃ς υἱοι̃ς Ισραηλ (Ⅲ)

- Nec elevetur cor ejus in superbiam super fratres suos, neque declinet in partem dexteram vel sinistram, ut longo tempore regnet ipse et filii ejus super Israël. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 20 ׃17 לבלתי רום לבבו מאחיו ולבלתי סור מן המצוה ימין ושמאול למען יאריך ימים על ממלכתו הוא ובניו בקרב ישראל ס‬ (Ⅴ)
