24. 1

When a man hath taken a wife, and married her, and it come to pass that she find no favor in his eyes, because he hath found some uncleanness in her: then let him write her a bill of divorcement, and give it in her hand, and send her out of his house.

- Lorsqu'un homme aura pris et épousé une femme qui viendrait à ne pas trouver grâce à ses yeux, parce qu'il a découvert en elle quelque chose de honteux, il écrira pour elle une lettre de divorce, et, après la lui avoir remise en main, il la renverra de sa maison. (Ⅱ)

- ἐὰν δέ τις λάβη̨ γυναι̃κα καὶ συνοικήση̨ αὐτη̨̃ καὶ ἔσται ἐὰν μὴ εὕρη̨ χάριν ἐναντίον αὐτου̃ ὅτι εὑ̃ρεν ἐν αὐτη̨̃ ἄσχημον πρα̃γμα καὶ γράψει αὐτη̨̃ βιβλίον ἀποστασίου καὶ δώσει εἰς τὰς χει̃ρας αὐτη̃ς καὶ ἐξαποστελει̃ αὐτὴν ἐκ τη̃ς οἰκίας αὐτου̃ (Ⅲ)

- Si acceperit homo uxorem, et habuerit eam, et non invenerit gratiam ante oculos ejus propter aliquam fœditatem : scribet libellum repudii, et dabit in manu illius, et dimittet eam de domo sua. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 1 ׃24 כי יקח איש אשה ובעלה והיה אם לא תמצא חן בעיניו כי מצא בה ערות דבר וכתב לה ספר כריתת ונתן בידה ושלחה מביתו ‬ (Ⅴ)

24. 2

And when she is departed out of his house, she may go and be another man's wife.

- Elle sortira de chez lui, s'en ira, et pourra devenir la femme d'un autre homme. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἀπελθου̃σα γένηται ἀνδρὶ ἑτέρω̨ (Ⅲ)

- Cumque egressa alterum maritum duxerit, (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 2 ׃24 ויצאה מביתו והלכה והיתה לאיש אחר ‬ (Ⅴ)

24. 3

And if the latter husband hate her, and write her a bill of divorcement, and giveth it in her hand, and sendeth her out of his house; or if the latter husband die, which took her to be his wife;

- Si ce dernier homme la prend en aversion, écrit pour elle une lettre de divorce, et, après la lui avoir remise en main, la renvoie de sa maison; ou bien, si ce dernier homme qui l'a prise pour femme vient à mourir, (Ⅱ)

- καὶ μισήση̨ αὐτὴν ὁ ἀνὴρ ὁ ἔσχατος καὶ γράψει αὐτη̨̃ βιβλίον ἀποστασίου καὶ δώσει εἰς τὰς χει̃ρας αὐτη̃ς καὶ ἐξαποστελει̃ αὐτὴν ἐκ τη̃ς οἰκίας αὐτου̃ ἢ ἀποθάνη̨ ὁ ἀνὴρ ὁ ἔσχατος ὃς ἔλαβεν αὐτὴν ἑαυτω̨̃ γυναι̃κα (Ⅲ)

- et ille quoque oderit eam, dederitque ei libellum repudii, et dimiserit de domo sua, vel certe mortuus fuerit : (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 3 ׃24 ושנאה האיש האחרון וכתב לה ספר כריתת ונתן בידה ושלחה מביתו או כי ימות האיש האחרון אשר לקחה לו לאשה ‬ (Ⅴ)

24. 4

Her former husband, which sent her away, may not take her again to be his wife, after that she is defiled; for that is abomination before the LORD: and thou shalt not cause the land to sin, which the LORD thy God giveth thee for an inheritance.

- alors le premier mari qui l'avait renvoyée ne pourra pas la reprendre pour femme après qu'elle a été souillée, car c'est une abomination devant l'Éternel, et tu ne chargeras point de péché le pays que l'Éternel, ton Dieu, te donne pour héritage. (Ⅱ)

- οὐ δυνήσεται ὁ ἀνὴρ ὁ πρότερος ὁ ἐξαποστείλας αὐτὴν ἐπαναστρέψας λαβει̃ν αὐτὴν ἑαυτω̨̃ γυναι̃κα μετὰ τὸ μιανθη̃ναι αὐτήν ὅτι βδέλυγμά ἐστιν ἐναντίον κυρίου του̃ θεου̃ σου καὶ οὐ μιανει̃τε τὴν γη̃ν ἣν κύριος ὁ θεὸς ὑμω̃ν δίδωσιν ὑμι̃ν ἐν κλήρω̨ (Ⅲ)

- non poterit prior maritus recipere eam in uxorem : quia polluta est, et abominabilis facta est coram Domino : ne peccare facias terram tuam, quam Dominus Deus tuus tradiderit tibi possidendam.\ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 4 ׃24 לא יוכל בעלה הראשון אשר שלחה לשוב לקחתה להיות לו לאשה אחרי אשר הטמאה כי תועבה הוא לפני יהוה ולא תחטיא את הארץ אשר יהוה אלהיך נתן לך נחלה ס‬ (Ⅴ)

24. 5

When a man hath taken a new wife, he shall not go out to war, neither shall he be charged with any business: but he shall be free at home one year, and shall cheer up his wife which he hath taken.

- Lorsqu'un homme sera nouvellement marié, il n'ira point à l'armée, et on ne lui imposera aucune charge; il sera exempté par raison de famille pendant un an, et il réjouira la femme qu'il a prise. (Ⅱ)

- ἐὰν δέ τις λάβη̨ γυναι̃κα προσφάτως οὐκ ἐξελεύσεται εἰς τὸν πόλεμον καὶ οὐκ ἐπιβληθήσεται αὐτω̨̃ οὐδὲν πρα̃γμα ἀθω̨̃ος ἔσται ἐν τη̨̃ οἰκία̨ αὐτου̃ ἐνιαυτὸν ἕνα εὐφρανει̃ τὴν γυναι̃κα αὐτου̃ ἣν ἔλαβεν (Ⅲ)

- Cum acceperit homo nuper uxorem, non procedet ad bellum, nec ei quippiam necessitatis injungetur publicæ, sed vacabit absque culpa domi suæ, ut uno anno lætetur cum uxore sua. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 5 ׃24 כי יקח איש אשה חדשה לא יצא בצבא ולא יעבר עליו לכל דבר נקי יהיה לביתו שנה אחת ושמח את אשתו אשר לקח ס‬ (Ⅴ)

24. 6

No man shall take the nether or the upper millstone to pledge: for he taketh a man's life to pledge.

- On ne prendra point pour gage les deux meules, ni la meule de dessus; car ce serait prendre pour gage la vie même. (Ⅱ)

- οὐκ ἐνεχυράσεις μύλον οὐδὲ ἐπιμύλιον ὅτι ψυχὴν οὑ̃τος ἐνεχυράζει (Ⅲ)

- Non accipies loco pignoris inferiorem, et superiorem molam : quia animam suam opposuit tibi. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 6 ׃24 לא יחבל רחים ורכב כי נפש הוא חבל ס‬ (Ⅴ)

24. 7

If a man be found stealing any of his brethren of the children of Israel, and maketh merchandise of him, or selleth him; then that thief shall die; and thou shalt put evil away from among you.

- Si l'on trouve un homme qui ait dérobé l'un de ses frères, l'un des enfants d'Israël, qui en ait fait son esclave ou qui l'ait vendu, ce voleur sera puni de mort. Tu ôteras ainsi le mal du milieu de toi. (Ⅱ)

- ἐὰν δὲ ἁλω̨̃ ἄνθρωπος κλέπτων ψυχὴν τω̃ν ἀδελφω̃ν αὐτου̃ τω̃ν υἱω̃ν Ισραηλ καὶ καταδυναστεύσας αὐτὸν ἀποδω̃ται ἀποθανει̃ται ὁ κλέπτης ἐκει̃νος καὶ ἐξαρει̃ς τὸν πονηρὸν ἐξ ὑμω̃ν αὐτω̃ν (Ⅲ)

- Si deprehensus fuerit homo sollicitans fratrem suum de filiis Israël, et vendito eo acceperit pretium, interficietur, et auferes malum de medio tui. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 7 ׃24 כי ימצא איש גנב נפש מאחיו מבני ישראל והתעמר בו ומכרו ומת הגנב ההוא ובערת הרע מקרבך ‬ (Ⅴ)

24. 8

Take heed in the plague of leprosy, that thou observe diligently, and do according to all that the priests the Levites shall teach you: as I commanded them, so ye shall observe to do.

- Prends garde à la plaie de la lèpre, afin de bien observer et de faire tout ce que vous enseigneront les sacrificateurs, les Lévites; vous aurez soin d'agir d'après les ordres que je leur ai donnés. (Ⅱ)

- πρόσεχε σεαυτω̨̃ ἐν τη̨̃ ἁφη̨̃ τη̃ς λέπρας φυλάξη̨ σφόδρα ποιει̃ν κατὰ πάντα τὸν νόμον ὃν ἐὰν ἀναγγείλωσιν ὑμι̃ν οἱ ἱερει̃ς οἱ Λευι̃ται ὃν τρόπον ἐνετειλάμην ὑμι̃ν φυλάξασθε ποιει̃ν (Ⅲ)

- Observa diligenter ne incurras plagam lepræ, sed facies quæcumque docuerint te sacerdotes Levitici generis, juxta id quod præcepi eis, et imple sollicite. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 8 ׃24 השמר בנגע הצרעת לשמר מאד ולעשות ככל אשר יורו אתכם הכהנים הלוים כאשר צויתם תשמרו לעשות ס‬ (Ⅴ)

24. 9

Remember what the LORD thy God did unto Miriam by the way, after that ye were come forth out of Egypt.

- Souviens-toi de ce que l'Éternel, ton Dieu, fit à Marie pendant la route, lors de votre sortie d'Égypte. (Ⅱ)

- μνήσθητι ὅσα ἐποίησεν κύριος ὁ θεός σου τη̨̃ Μαριαμ ἐν τη̨̃ ὁδω̨̃ ἐκπορευομένων ὑμω̃ν ἐξ Αἰγύπτου (Ⅲ)

- Mementote quæ fecerit Dominus Deus vester Mariæ in via cum egrederemini de Ægypto. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 9 ׃24 זכור את אשר עשה יהוה אלהיך למרים בדרך בצאתכם ממצרים ס‬ (Ⅴ)

24. 10

When thou dost lend thy brother any thing, thou shalt not go into his house to fetch his pledge.

- Si tu fais à ton prochain un prêt quelconque, tu n'entreras point dans sa maison pour te saisir de son gage; (Ⅱ)

- ἐὰν ὀφείλημα ἠ̨̃ ἐν τω̨̃ πλησίον σου ὀφείλημα ὁτιου̃ν οὐκ εἰσελεύση̨ εἰς τὴν οἰκίαν αὐτου̃ ἐνεχυράσαι τὸ ἐνέχυρον (Ⅲ)

- Cum repetes a proximo tuo rem aliquam, quam debet tibi, non ingredieris domum ejus ut pignus auferas : (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 10 ׃24 כי תשה ברעך‪[U]‬ משאת מאומה לא תבא אל ביתו לעבט עבטו ‬ (Ⅴ)

24. 11

Thou shalt stand abroad, and the man to whom thou dost lend shall bring out the pledge abroad unto thee.

- tu resteras dehors, et celui à qui tu fais le prêt t'apportera le gage dehors. (Ⅱ)

- ἔξω στήση̨ καὶ ὁ ἄνθρωπος οὑ̃ τὸ δάνειόν σού ἐστιν ἐν αὐτω̨̃ ἐξοίσει σοι τὸ ἐνέχυρον ἔξω (Ⅲ)

- sed stabis foris, et ille tibi proferet quod habuerit. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 11 ׃24 בחוץ תעמד והאיש אשר אתה נשה בו יוציא אליך את העבוט החוצה ‬ (Ⅴ)

24. 12

And if the man be poor, thou shalt not sleep with his pledge:

- Si cet homme est pauvre, tu ne te coucheras point, en retenant son gage; (Ⅱ)

- ἐὰν δὲ ὁ ἄνθρωπος πένηται οὐ κοιμηθήση̨ ἐν τω̨̃ ἐνεχύρω̨ αὐτου̃ (Ⅲ)

- Sin autem pauper est, non pernoctabit apud te pignus, (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 12 ׃24 ואם איש עני הוא לא תשכב בעבטו ‬ (Ⅴ)

24. 13

In any case thou shalt deliver him the pledge again when the sun goeth down, that he may sleep in his own raiment, and bless thee: and it shall be righteousness unto thee before the LORD thy God.

- tu le lui rendras au coucher du soleil, afin qu'il couche dans son vêtement et qu'il te bénisse; et cela te sera imputé à justice devant l'Éternel, ton Dieu. (Ⅱ)

- ἀποδόσει ἀποδώσεις τὸ ἐνέχυρον αὐτου̃ περὶ δυσμὰς ἡλίου καὶ κοιμηθήσεται ἐν τω̨̃ ἱματίω̨ αὐτου̃ καὶ εὐλογήσει σε καὶ ἔσται σοι ἐλεημοσύνη ἐναντίον κυρίου του̃ θεου̃ σου (Ⅲ)

- sed statim reddes ei ante solis occasum : ut dormiens in vestimento suo, benedicat tibi, et habeas justitiam coram Domino Deo tuo. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 13 ׃24 השב תשיב לו את העבוט כבא השמש ושכב בשלמתו וברכך ולך תהיה צדקה לפני יהוה אלהיך ס‬ (Ⅴ)

24. 14

Thou shalt not oppress an hired servant that is poor and needy, whether he be of thy brethren, or of thy strangers that are in thy land within thy gates:

- Tu n'opprimeras point le mercenaire, pauvre et indigent, qu'il soit l'un de tes frères, ou l'un des étrangers demeurant dans ton pays, dans tes portes. (Ⅱ)

- οὐκ ἀπαδικήσεις μισθὸν πένητος καὶ ἐνδεου̃ς ἐκ τω̃ν ἀδελφω̃ν σου ἢ ἐκ τω̃ν προσηλύτων τω̃ν ἐν ται̃ς πόλεσίν σου (Ⅲ)

- Non negabis mercedem indigentis, et pauperis fratris tui, sive advenæ, qui tecum moratur in terra, et intra portas tuas est : (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 14 ׃24 לא תעשק שכיר עני ואביון מאחיך או מגרך אשר בארצך בשעריך ‬ (Ⅴ)

24. 15

At his day thou shalt give him his hire, neither shall the sun go down upon it; for he is poor, and setteth his heart upon it: lest he cry against thee unto the LORD, and it be sin unto thee.

- Tu lui donneras le salaire de sa journée avant le coucher du soleil; car il est pauvre, et il lui tarde de le recevoir. Sans cela, il crierait à l'Éternel contre toi, et tu te chargerais d'un péché. (Ⅱ)

- αὐθημερὸν ἀποδώσεις τὸν μισθὸν αὐτου̃ οὐκ ἐπιδύσεται ὁ ἥλιος ἐπ' αὐτω̨̃ ὅτι πένης ἐστὶν καὶ ἐν αὐτω̨̃ ἔχει τὴν ἐλπίδα καὶ οὐ καταβοήσεται κατὰ σου̃ πρὸς κύριον καὶ ἔσται ἐν σοὶ ἁμαρτία (Ⅲ)

- sed eadem die reddes ei pretium laboris sui ante solis occasum, quia pauper est, et ex eo sustentat animam suam : ne clamet contra te ad Dominum, et reputetur tibi in peccatum. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 15 ׃24 ביומו תתן שכרו ולא תבוא עליו השמש כי עני הוא ואליו הוא נשא את נפשו ולא יקרא עליך אל יהוה והיה בך חטא ס‬ (Ⅴ)

24. 16

The fathers shall not be put to death for the children, neither shall the children be put to death for the fathers: every man shall be put to death for his own sin.

- On ne fera point mourir les pères pour les enfants, et l'on ne fera point mourir les enfants pour les pères; on fera mourir chacun pour son péché. (Ⅱ)

- οὐκ ἀποθανου̃νται πατέρες ὑπὲρ τέκνων καὶ υἱοὶ οὐκ ἀποθανου̃νται ὑπὲρ πατέρων ἕκαστος τη̨̃ ἑαυτου̃ ἁμαρτία̨ ἀποθανει̃ται (Ⅲ)

- Non occidentur patres pro filiis, nec filii pro patribus, sed unusquisque pro peccato suo morietur.\ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 16 ׃24 לא יומתו אבות על בנים ובנים לא יומתו על אבות איש‪[Q]‬‪[k]‬‪[n]‬ בחטאו יומתו ס‬ (Ⅴ)

24. 17

Thou shalt not pervert the judgment of the stranger, nor of the fatherless; nor take a widow's raiment to pledge:

- Tu ne porteras point atteinte au droit de l'étranger et de l'orphelin, et tu ne prendras point en gage le vêtement de la veuve. (Ⅱ)

- οὐκ ἐκκλινει̃ς κρίσιν προσηλύτου καὶ ὀρφανου̃ καὶ χήρας καὶ οὐκ ἐνεχυράσεις ἱμάτιον χήρας (Ⅲ)

- Non pervertes judicium advenæ et pupilli, nec auferes pignoris loco viduæ vestimentum. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 17 ׃24 לא תטה משפט גר יתום ולא תחבל בגד אלמנה ‬ (Ⅴ)

24. 18

But thou shalt remember that thou wast a bondman in Egypt, and the LORD thy God redeemed thee thence: therefore I command thee to do this thing.

- Tu te souviendras que tu as été esclave en Égypte, et que l'Éternel, ton Dieu, t'a racheté; c'est pourquoi je te donne ces commandements à mettre en pratique. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ μνησθήση̨ ὅτι οἰκέτης ἠ̃σθα ἐν γη̨̃ Αἰγύπτω̨ καὶ ἐλυτρώσατό σε κύριος ὁ θεός σου ἐκει̃θεν διὰ του̃το ἐγώ σοι ἐντέλλομαι ποιει̃ν τὸ ῥη̃μα του̃το (Ⅲ)

- Memento quod servieris in Ægypto, et eruerit te Dominus Deus tuus inde. Idcirco præcipio tibi ut facias hanc rem. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 18 ׃24 וזכרת כי עבד היית במצרים ויפדך יהוה אלהיך משם על כן אנכי מצוך לעשות את הדבר הזה ס‬ (Ⅴ)

24. 19

When thou cuttest down thine harvest in thy field, and hast forgot a sheaf in the field, thou shalt not go again to fetch it: it shall be for the stranger, for the fatherless, and for the widow: that the LORD thy God may bless thee in all the work of thine hands.

- Quand tu moissonneras ton champ, et que tu auras oublié une gerbe dans le champ, tu ne retourneras point la prendre: elle sera pour l'étranger, pour l'orphelin et pour la veuve, afin que l'Éternel, ton Dieu, te bénisse dans tout le travail de tes mains. (Ⅱ)

- ἐὰν δὲ ἀμήση̨ς ἀμητὸν ἐν τω̨̃ ἀγρω̨̃ σου καὶ ἐπιλάθη̨ δράγμα ἐν τω̨̃ ἀγρω̨̃ σου οὐκ ἐπαναστραφήση̨ λαβει̃ν αὐτό τω̨̃ πτωχω̨̃ καὶ τω̨̃ προσηλύτω̨ καὶ τω̨̃ ὀρφανω̨̃ καὶ τη̨̃ χήρα̨ ἔσται ἵνα εὐλογήση̨ σε κύριος ὁ θεός σου ἐν πα̃σι τοι̃ς ἔργοις τω̃ν χειρω̃ν σου (Ⅲ)

- Quando messueris segetem in agro tuo, et oblitus manipulum reliqueris, non reverteris, ut tollas illum : sed advenam, et pupillum, et viduam auferre patieris, ut benedicat tibi Dominus Deus tuus in omni opere manuum tuarum. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 19 ׃24 כי תקצר קצירך בשדך ושכחת עמר בשדה לא תשוב לקחתו לגר ליתום ולאלמנה יהיה למען יברכך יהוה אלהיך בכל מעשה ידיך ‬ (Ⅴ)

24. 20

When thou beatest thine olive tree, thou shalt not go over the boughs again: it shall be for the stranger, for the fatherless, and for the widow.

- Quand tu secoueras tes oliviers, tu ne cueilleras point ensuite les fruits restés aux branches: ils seront pour l'étranger, pour l'orphelin et pour la veuve. (Ⅱ)

- ἐὰν δὲ ἐλαιαλογήση̨ς οὐκ ἐπαναστρέψεις καλαμήσασθαι τὰ ὀπίσω σου τω̨̃ προσηλύτω̨ καὶ τω̨̃ ὀρφανω̨̃ καὶ τη̨̃ χήρα̨ ἔσται καὶ μνησθήση̨ ὅτι οἰκέτης ἠ̃σθα ἐν γη̨̃ Αἰγύπτω̨ διὰ του̃το ἐγώ σοι ἐντέλλομαι ποιει̃ν τὸ ῥη̃μα του̃το (Ⅲ)

- Si fruges collegeris olivarum, quidquid remanserit in arboribus, non reverteris ut colligas : sed relinques advenæ, pupillo, ac viduæ. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 20 ׃24 כי תחבט זיתך לא תפאר אחריך לגר ליתום ולאלמנה יהיה ס‬ (Ⅴ)

24. 21

When thou gatherest the grapes of thy vineyard, thou shalt not glean it afterward: it shall be for the stranger, for the fatherless, and for the widow.

- Quand tu vendangeras ta vigne, tu ne cueilleras point ensuite les grappes qui y seront restées: elles seront pour l'étranger, pour l'orphelin et pour la veuve. (Ⅱ)

- ἐὰν δὲ τρυγήση̨ς τὸν ἀμπελω̃νά σου οὐκ ἐπανατρυγήσεις αὐτὸν τὰ ὀπίσω σου τω̨̃ προσηλύτω̨ καὶ τω̨̃ ὀρφανω̨̃ καὶ τη̨̃ χήρα̨ ἔσται (Ⅲ)

- Si vindemiaveris vineam tuam, non colliges remanentes racemos : sed cedent in usus advenæ, pupilli, ac viduæ. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 21 ׃24 כי תבצר כרמך לא תעולל אחריך לגר ליתום ולאלמנה יהיה ‬ (Ⅴ)

24. 22

And thou shalt remember that thou wast a bondman in the land of Egypt: therefore I command thee to do this thing.

- Tu te souviendras que tu as été esclave dans le pays d'Égypte; c'est pourquoi je te donne ces commandements à mettre en pratique. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ μνησθήση̨ ὅτι οἰκέτης ἠ̃σθα ἐν γη̨̃ Αἰγύπτω̨ διὰ του̃το ἐγώ σοι ἐντέλλομαι ποιει̃ν τὸ ῥη̃μα του̃το (Ⅲ)
