28. 1

And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the LORD thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth:

- Si tu obéis à la voix de l'Éternel, ton Dieu, en observant et en mettant en pratique tous ses commandements que je te prescris aujourd'hui, l'Éternel, ton Dieu, te donnera la supériorité sur toutes les nations de la terre. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἔσται ὡς ἂν διαβη̃τε τὸν Ιορδάνην εἰς τὴν γη̃ν ἣν κύριος ὁ θεὸς ὑμω̃ν δίδωσιν ὑμι̃ν ἐὰν ἀκοη̨̃ εἰσακούσητε τη̃ς φωνη̃ς κυρίου του̃ θεου̃ ὑμω̃ν φυλάσσειν καὶ ποιει̃ν πάσας τὰς ἐντολὰς αὐτου̃ ἃς ἐγὼ ἐντέλλομαί σοι σήμερον καὶ δώσει σε κύριος ὁ θεός σου ὑπεράνω πάντων τω̃ν ἐθνω̃ν τη̃ς γη̃ς (Ⅲ)

- Si autem audieris vocem Domini Dei tui, ut facias atque custodias omnia mandata ejus, quæ ego præcipio tibi hodie, faciet te Dominus Deus tuus excelsiorem cunctis gentibus, quæ versantur in terra. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 1 ׃28 והיה אם שמוע תשמע בקול יהוה אלהיך לשמר לעשות את כל מצותיו אשר אנכי מצוך היום ונתנך יהוה אלהיך עליון על כל גויי הארץ ‬ (Ⅴ)

28. 2

And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God.

- Voici toutes les bénédictions qui se répandront sur toi et qui seront ton partage, lorsque tu obéiras à la voix de l'Éternel, ton Dieu: (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἥξουσιν ἐπὶ σὲ πα̃σαι αἱ εὐλογίαι αὑ̃ται καὶ εὑρήσουσίν σε ἐὰν ἀκοη̨̃ ἀκούση̨ς τη̃ς φωνη̃ς κυρίου του̃ θεου̃ σου (Ⅲ)

- Venientque super te universæ benedictiones istæ, et apprehendent te : si tamen præcepta ejus audieris. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 2 ׃28 ובאו עליך כל הברכות האלה והשיגך כי תשמע בקול יהוה אלהיך ‬ (Ⅴ)

28. 3

Blessed shalt thou be in the city, and blessed shalt thou be in the field.

- Tu seras béni dans la ville, et tu seras béni dans les champs. (Ⅱ)

- εὐλογημένος σὺ ἐν πόλει καὶ εὐλογημένος σὺ ἐν ἀγρω̨̃ (Ⅲ)

- Benedictus tu in civitate, et benedictus in agro. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 3 ׃28 ברוך אתה בעיר וברוך אתה בשדה ‬ (Ⅴ)

28. 4

Blessed shall be the fruit of thy body, and the fruit of thy ground, and the fruit of thy cattle, the increase of thy kine, and the flocks of thy sheep.

- Le fruit de tes entrailles, le fruit de ton sol, le fruit de tes troupeaux, les portées de ton gros et de ton menu bétail, toutes ces choses seront bénies. (Ⅱ)

- εὐλογημένα τὰ ἔκγονα τη̃ς κοιλίας σου καὶ τὰ γενήματα τη̃ς γη̃ς σου τὰ βουκόλια τω̃ν βοω̃ν σου καὶ τὰ ποίμνια τω̃ν προβάτων σου (Ⅲ)

- Benedictus fructus ventris tui, et fructus terræ tuæ, fructusque jumentorum tuorum, greges armentorum tuorum, et caulæ ovium tuarum. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 4 ׃28 ברוך פרי בטנך ופרי אדמתך ופרי בהמתך שגר אלפיך ועשתרות צאנך ‬ (Ⅴ)

28. 5

Blessed shall be thy basket and thy store.

- Ta corbeille et ta huche seront bénies. (Ⅱ)

- εὐλογημέναι αἱ ἀποθη̃καί σου καὶ τὰ ἐγκαταλείμματά σου (Ⅲ)

- Benedicta horrea tua, et benedictæ reliquiæ tuæ. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 5 ׃28 ברוך טנאך ומשארתך ‬ (Ⅴ)

28. 6

Blessed shalt thou be when thou comest in, and blessed shalt thou be when thou goest out.

- Tu seras béni à ton arrivée, et tu seras béni à ton départ. (Ⅱ)

- εὐλογημένος σὺ ἐν τω̨̃ εἰσπορεύεσθαί σε καὶ εὐλογημένος σὺ ἐν τω̨̃ ἐκπορεύεσθαί σε (Ⅲ)

- Benedictus eris tu ingrediens et egrediens. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 6 ׃28 ברוך אתה בבאך וברוך אתה בצאתך ‬ (Ⅴ)

28. 7

The LORD shall cause thine enemies that rise up against thee to be smitten before thy face: they shall come out against thee one way, and flee before thee seven ways.

- L'Éternel te donnera la victoire sur tes ennemis qui s'élèveront contre toi; ils sortiront contre toi par un seul chemin, et ils s'enfuiront devant toi par sept chemins. (Ⅱ)

- παραδω̨̃ κύριος ὁ θεός σου τοὺς ἐχθρούς σου τοὺς ἀνθεστηκότας σοι συντετριμμένους πρὸ προσώπου σου ὁδω̨̃ μια̨̃ ἐξελεύσονται πρὸς σὲ καὶ ἐν ἑπτὰ ὁδοι̃ς φεύξονται ἀπὸ προσώπου σου (Ⅲ)

- Dabit Dominus inimicos tuos, qui consurgunt adversum te, corruentes in conspectu tuo : per unam viam venient contra te, et per septem fugient a facie tua. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 7 ׃28 יתן יהוה את איביך הקמים עליך נגפים לפניך בדרך אחד יצאו אליך ובשבעה דרכים ינוסו לפניך ‬ (Ⅴ)

28. 8

The LORD shall command the blessing upon thee in thy storehouses, and in all that thou settest thine hand unto; and he shall bless thee in the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.

- L'Éternel ordonnera à la bénédiction d'être avec toi dans tes greniers et dans toutes tes entreprises. Il te bénira dans le pays que l'Éternel, ton Dieu, te donne. (Ⅱ)

- ἀποστείλαι κύριος ἐπὶ σὲ τὴν εὐλογίαν ἐν τοι̃ς ταμιείοις σου καὶ ἐν πα̃σιν οὑ̃ ἂν ἐπιβάλη̨ς τὴν χει̃ρά σου ἐπὶ τη̃ς γη̃ς ἡ̃ς κύριος ὁ θεός σου δίδωσίν σοι (Ⅲ)

- Emittet Dominus benedictionem super cellaria tua, et super omnia opera manuum tuarum : benedicetque tibi in terra, quam acceperis. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 8 ׃28 יצו יהוה אתך את הברכה באסמיך ובכל משלח ידך וברכך בארץ אשר יהוה אלהיך נתן לך ‬ (Ⅴ)

28. 9

The LORD shall establish thee an holy people unto himself, as he hath sworn unto thee, if thou shalt keep the commandments of the LORD thy God, and walk in his ways.

- Tu seras pour l'Éternel un peuple saint, comme il te l'a juré, lorsque tu observeras les commandements de l'Éternel, ton Dieu, et que tu marcheras dans ses voies. (Ⅱ)

- ἀναστήσαι σε κύριος ὁ θεός σου ἑαυτω̨̃ λαὸν ἅγιον ὃν τρόπον ὤμοσεν τοι̃ς πατράσιν σου ἐὰν εἰσακούση̨ς τη̃ς φωνη̃ς κυρίου του̃ θεου̃ σου καὶ πορευθη̨̃ς ἐν ται̃ς ὁδοι̃ς αὐτου̃ (Ⅲ)

- Suscitabit te Dominus sibi in populum sanctum, sicut juravit tibi : si custodieris mandata Domini Dei tui, et ambulaveris in viis ejus. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 9 ׃28 יקימך‪[C]‬‪[c]‬ יהוה לו לעם קדוש כאשר נשבע לך כי תשמר את מצות יהוה אלהיך והלכת בדרכיו ‬ (Ⅴ)

28. 10

And all people of the earth shall see that thou art called by the name of the LORD; and they shall be afraid of thee.

- Tous les peuples verront que tu es appelé du nom de l'Éternel, et ils te craindront. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ὄψονταί σε πάντα τὰ ἔθνη τη̃ς γη̃ς ὅτι τὸ ὄνομα κυρίου ἐπικέκληταί σοι καὶ φοβηθήσονταί σε (Ⅲ)

- Videbuntque omnes terrarum populi quod nomen Domini invocatum sit super te, et timebunt te. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 10 ׃28 וראו כל עמי הארץ כי שם יהוה נקרא עליך ויראו ממך ‬ (Ⅴ)

28. 11

And the LORD shall make thee plenteous in goods, in the fruit of thy body, and in the fruit of thy cattle, and in the fruit of thy ground, in the land which the LORD sware unto thy fathers to give thee.

- L'Éternel te comblera de biens, en multipliant le fruit de tes entrailles, le fruit de tes troupeaux et le fruit de ton sol, dans le pays que l'Éternel a juré à tes pères de te donner. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ πληθυνει̃ σε κύριος ὁ θεός σου εἰς ἀγαθὰ ἐπὶ τοι̃ς ἐκγόνοις τη̃ς κοιλίας σου καὶ ἐπὶ τοι̃ς γενήμασιν τη̃ς γη̃ς σου καὶ ἐπὶ τοι̃ς ἐκγόνοις τω̃ν κτηνω̃ν σου ἐπὶ τη̃ς γη̃ς ἡ̃ς ὤμοσεν κύριος τοι̃ς πατράσιν σου δου̃ναί σοι (Ⅲ)

- Abundare te faciet Dominus omnibus bonis, fructu uteri tui, et fructu jumentorum tuorum, fructu terræ tuæ, quam juravit Dominus patribus tuis ut daret tibi. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 11 ׃28 והותרך יהוה לטובה בפרי בטנך ובפרי בהמתך ובפרי אדמתך על האדמה אשר נשבע יהוה לאבתיך לתת לך ‬ (Ⅴ)

28. 12

The LORD shall open unto thee his good treasure, the heaven to give the rain unto thy land in his season, and to bless all the work of thine hand: and thou shalt lend unto many nations, and thou shalt not borrow.

- L'Éternel t'ouvrira son bon trésor, le ciel, pour envoyer à ton pays la pluie en son temps et pour bénir tout le travail de tes mains; tu prêteras à beaucoup de nations, et tu n'emprunteras point. (Ⅱ)

- ἀνοίξαι σοι κύριος τὸν θησαυρὸν αὐτου̃ τὸν ἀγαθόν τὸν οὐρανόν δου̃ναι τὸν ὑετὸν τη̨̃ γη̨̃ σου ἐπὶ καιρου̃ αὐτου̃ εὐλογη̃σαι πάντα τὰ ἔργα τω̃ν χειρω̃ν σου καὶ δανιει̃ς ἔθνεσιν πολλοι̃ς σὺ δὲ οὐ δανιη̨̃ καὶ ἄρξεις σὺ ἐθνω̃ν πολλω̃ν σου̃ δὲ οὐκ ἄρξουσιν (Ⅲ)

- Aperiet Dominus thesaurum suum optimum, cælum, ut tribuat pluviam terræ tuæ in tempore suo : benedicetque cunctis operibus manuum tuarum. Et fœnerabis gentibus multis, et ipse a nullo fœnus accipies. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 12 ׃28 יפתח יהוה לך את אוצרו הטוב את השמים לתת מטר ארצך בעתו ולברך את כל מעשה ידך והלוית גוים רבים ואתה לא תלוה ‬ (Ⅴ)

28. 13

And the LORD shall make thee the head, and not the tail; and thou shalt be above only, and thou shalt not be beneath; if that thou hearken unto the commandments of the LORD thy God, which I command thee this day, to observe and to do them:

- L'Éternel fera de toi la tête et non la queue, tu seras toujours en haut et tu ne seras jamais en bas, lorsque tu obéiras aux commandements de l'Éternel, ton Dieu, que je te prescris aujourd'hui, lorsque tu les observeras et les mettras en pratique, (Ⅱ)

- καταστήσαι σε κύριος ὁ θεός σου εἰς κεφαλὴν καὶ μὴ εἰς οὐράν καὶ ἔση̨ τότε ἐπάνω καὶ οὐκ ἔση̨ ὑποκάτω ἐὰν ἀκούση̨ς τω̃ν ἐντολω̃ν κυρίου του̃ θεου̃ σου ὅσα ἐγὼ ἐντέλλομαί σοι σήμερον φυλάσσειν καὶ ποιει̃ν (Ⅲ)

- Constituet te Dominus in caput, et non in caudam : et eris semper supra, et non subter : si tamen audieris mandata Domini Dei tui quæ ego præcipio tibi hodie, et custodieris et feceris, (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 13 ׃28 ונתנך יהוה לראש ולא לזנב והיית רק למעלה ולא תהיה למטה כי תשמע אל מצות יהוה אלהיך אשר אנכי מצוך היום לשמר ולעשות ‬ (Ⅴ)

28. 14

And thou shalt not go aside from any of the words which I command thee this day, to the right hand, or to the left, to go after other gods to serve them.

- et que tu ne te détourneras ni à droite ni à gauche de tous les commandements que je vous donne aujourd'hui, pour aller après d'autres dieux et pour les servir. (Ⅱ)

- οὐ παραβήση̨ ἀπὸ πάντων τω̃ν λόγων ὡ̃ν ἐγὼ ἐντέλλομαί σοι σήμερον δεξιὰ οὐδὲ ἀριστερὰ πορεύεσθαι ὀπίσω θεω̃ν ἑτέρων λατρεύειν αὐτοι̃ς (Ⅲ)

- ac non declinaveris ab eis nec ad dexteram, nec ad sinistram, nec secutus fueris deos alienos, neque colueris eos.\ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 14 ׃28 ולא תסור מכל הדברים אשר אנכי מצוה אתכם היום ימין ושמאול ללכת אחרי אלהים אחרים לעבדם ס‬ (Ⅴ)

28. 15

But it shall come to pass, if thou wilt not hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe to do all his commandments and his statutes which I command thee this day; that all these curses shall come upon thee, and overtake thee:

- Mais si tu n'obéis point à la voix de l'Éternel, ton Dieu, si tu n'observes pas et ne mets pas en pratique tous ses commandements et toutes ses lois que je te prescris aujourd'hui, voici toutes les malédictions qui viendront sur toi et qui seront ton partage: (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἔσται ἐὰν μὴ εἰσακούση̨ς τη̃ς φωνη̃ς κυρίου του̃ θεου̃ σου φυλάσσειν καὶ ποιει̃ν πάσας τὰς ἐντολὰς αὐτου̃ ὅσας ἐγὼ ἐντέλλομαί σοι σήμερον καὶ ἐλεύσονται ἐπὶ σὲ πα̃σαι αἱ κατάραι αὑ̃ται καὶ καταλήμψονταί σε (Ⅲ)

- Quod si audire nolueris vocem Domini Dei tui, ut custodias, et facias omnia mandata ejus et cæremonias, quas ego præcipio tibi hodie, venient super te omnes maledictiones istæ, et apprehendent te. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 15 ׃28 והיה אם לא תשמע בקול יהוה אלהיך לשמר לעשות את כל מצותיו וחקתיו אשר אנכי מצוך היום ובאו עליך כל הקללות האלה והשיגוך ‬ (Ⅴ)

28. 16

Cursed shalt thou be in the city, and cursed shalt thou be in the field.

- Tu seras maudit dans la ville, et tu seras maudit dans les champs. (Ⅱ)

- ἐπικατάρατος σὺ ἐν πόλει καὶ ἐπικατάρατος σὺ ἐν ἀγρω̨̃ (Ⅲ)

- Maledictus eris in civitate, maledictus in agro. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 16 ׃28 ארור אתה בעיר וארור אתה בשדה ‬ (Ⅴ)

28. 17

Cursed shall be thy basket and thy store.

- Maledictum horreum tuum, et maledictæ reliquiæ tuæ. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 17 ׃28 ארור טנאך ומשארתך ‬ (Ⅴ)

28. 18

Cursed shall be the fruit of thy body, and the fruit of thy land, the increase of thy kine, and the flocks of thy sheep.

28. 19

Cursed shalt thou be when thou comest in, and cursed shalt thou be when thou goest out.

- Tu seras maudit à ton arrivée, et tu seras maudit à ton départ. (Ⅱ)

- ἐπικατάρατος σὺ ἐν τω̨̃ ἐκπορεύεσθαί σε καὶ ἐπικατάρατος σὺ ἐν τω̨̃ εἰσπορεύεσθαί σε (Ⅲ)

- Maledictus eris ingrediens, et maledictus egrediens. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 19 ׃28 ארור אתה בבאך וארור אתה בצאתך ‬ (Ⅴ)

28. 20

The LORD shall send upon thee cursing, vexation, and rebuke, in all that thou settest thine hand unto for to do, until thou be destroyed, and until thou perish quickly; because of the wickedness of thy doings, whereby thou hast forsaken me.

- L'Éternel enverra contre toi la malédiction, le trouble et la menace, au milieu de toutes les entreprises que tu feras, jusqu'à ce que tu sois détruit, jusqu'à ce que tu périsses promptement, à cause de la méchanceté de tes actions, qui t'aura porté à m'abandonner. (Ⅱ)

- ἐξαποστείλαι κύριός σοι τὴν ἔνδειαν καὶ τὴν ἐκλιμίαν καὶ τὴν ἀνάλωσιν ἐπὶ πάντα οὑ̃ ἂν ἐπιβάλη̨ς τὴν χει̃ρά σου ὅσα ἐὰν ποιήση̨ς ἕως ἂν ἐξολεθρεύση̨ σε καὶ ἕως ἂν ἀπολέση̨ σε ἐν τάχει διὰ τὰ πονηρὰ ἐπιτηδεύματά σου διότι ἐγκατέλιπές με (Ⅲ)

- Mittet Dominus super te famem et esuriem, et increpationem in omnia opera tua, quæ tu facies : donec conterat te, et perdat velociter, propter adinventiones tuas pessimas in quibus reliquisti me. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 20 ׃28 ישלח יהוה בך את המארה את המהומה ואת המגערת בכל משלח ידך אשר תעשה עד השמדך ועד אבדך מהר מפני רע מעלליך אשר עזבתני ‬ (Ⅴ)

28. 21

The LORD shall make the pestilence cleave unto thee, until he have consumed thee from off the land, whither thou goest to possess it.

- L'Éternel attachera à toi la peste, jusqu'à ce qu'elle te consume dans le pays dont tu vas entrer en possession. (Ⅱ)

- προσκολλήσαι κύριος εἰς σὲ τὸν θάνατον ἕως ἂν ἐξαναλώση̨ σε ἀπὸ τη̃ς γη̃ς εἰς ἣν σὺ εἰσπορεύη̨ ἐκει̃ κληρονομη̃σαι αὐτήν (Ⅲ)

- Adjungat tibi Dominus pestilentiam, donec consumat te de terra ad quam ingredieris possidendam.\ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 21 ׃28 ידבק יהוה בך את הדבר עד כלתו אתך מעל האדמה אשר אתה בא שמה לרשתה ‬ (Ⅴ)

28. 22

The LORD shall smite thee with a consumption, and with a fever, and with an inflammation, and with an extreme burning, and with the sword, and with blasting, and with mildew; and they shall pursue thee until thou perish.

- L'Éternel te frappera de consomption, de fièvre, d'inflammation, de chaleur brûlante, de dessèchement, de jaunisse et de gangrène, qui te poursuivront jusqu'à ce que tu périsses. (Ⅱ)

- πατάξαι σε κύριος ἀπορία̨ καὶ πυρετω̨̃ καὶ ῥίγει καὶ ἐρεθισμω̨̃ καὶ φόνω̨ καὶ ἀνεμοφθορία̨ καὶ τη̨̃ ὤχρα̨ καὶ καταδιώξονταί σε ἕως ἂν ἀπολέσωσίν σε (Ⅲ)

- Percutiat te Dominus egestate, febri et frigore, ardore et æstu, et aëre corrupto ac rubigine, et persequatur donec pereas. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 22 ׃28 יככה יהוה בשחפת ובקדחת ובדלקת ובחרחר ובחרב ובשדפון ובירקון ורדפוך עד אבדך ‬ (Ⅴ)

28. 23

And thy heaven that is over thy head shall be brass, and the earth that is under thee shall be iron.

- Le ciel sur ta tête sera d'airain, et la terre sous toi sera de fer. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἔσται σοι ὁ οὐρανὸς ὁ ὑπὲρ κεφαλη̃ς σου χαλκου̃ς καὶ ἡ γη̃ ἡ ὑποκάτω σου σιδηρα̃ (Ⅲ)

- Sit cælum, quod supra te est, æneum : et terra, quam calcas, ferrea. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 23 ׃28 והיו שמיך אשר על ראשך נחשת והארץ אשר תחתיך ברזל ‬ (Ⅴ)

28. 24

The LORD shall make the rain of thy land powder and dust: from heaven shall it come down upon thee, until thou be destroyed.

- L'Éternel enverra pour pluie à ton pays de la poussière et de la poudre; il en descendra du ciel sur toi jusqu'à ce que tu sois détruit. (Ⅱ)

- δώ̨η κύριος τὸν ὑετὸν τη̨̃ γη̨̃ σου κονιορτόν καὶ χου̃ς ἐκ του̃ οὐρανου̃ καταβήσεται ἐπὶ σέ ἕως ἂν ἐκτρίψη̨ σε καὶ ἕως ἂν ἀπολέση̨ σε (Ⅲ)

- Det Dominus imbrem terræ tuæ pulverem, et de cælo descendat super te cinis, donec conteraris. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 24 ׃28 יתן יהוה את מטר ארצך אבק ועפר מן השמים ירד עליך עד השמדך ‬ (Ⅴ)

28. 25

The LORD shall cause thee to be smitten before thine enemies: thou shalt go out one way against them, and flee seven ways before them: and shalt be removed into all the kingdoms of the earth.

- L'Éternel te fera battre par tes ennemis; tu sortiras contre eux par un seul chemin, et tu t'enfuiras devant eux par sept chemins; et tu seras un objet d'effroi pour tous les royaumes de la terre. (Ⅱ)

- δώ̨η σε κύριος ἐπικοπὴν ἐναντίον τω̃ν ἐχθρω̃ν σου ἐν ὁδω̨̃ μια̨̃ ἐξελεύση̨ πρὸς αὐτοὺς καὶ ἐν ἑπτὰ ὁδοι̃ς φεύξη̨ ἀπὸ προσώπου αὐτω̃ν καὶ ἔση̨ ἐν διασπορα̨̃ ἐν πάσαις ται̃ς βασιλείαις τη̃ς γη̃ς (Ⅲ)

- Tradat te Dominus corruentem ante hostes tuos : per unam viam egrediaris contra eos, et per septem fugias, et dispergaris per omnia regna terræ, (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 25 ׃28 יתנך‪[C]‬ יהוה נגף לפני איביך בדרך אחד תצא אליו ובשבעה דרכים תנוס לפניו והיית לזעוה לכל ממלכות הארץ ‬ (Ⅴ)

28. 26

And thy carcass shall be meat unto all fowls of the air, and unto the beasts of the earth, and no man shall fray them away.

- Ton cadavre sera la pâture de tous les oiseaux du ciel et des bêtes de la terre; et il n'y aura personne pour les troubler. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἔσονται οἱ νεκροὶ ὑμω̃ν κατάβρωμα τοι̃ς πετεινοι̃ς του̃ οὐρανου̃ καὶ τοι̃ς θηρίοις τη̃ς γη̃ς καὶ οὐκ ἔσται ὁ ἀποσοβω̃ν (Ⅲ)

- sitque cadaver tuum in escam cunctis volatilibus cæli, et bestiis terræ, et non sit qui abigat. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 26 ׃28 והיתה נבלתך למאכל לכל עוף השמים ולבהמת הארץ ואין מחריד ‬ (Ⅴ)

28. 27

The LORD will smite thee with the botch of Egypt, and with the emerods, and with the scab, and with the itch, whereof thou canst not be healed.

- L'Éternel te frappera de l'ulcère d'Égypte, d'hémorroïdes, de gale et de teigne, dont tu ne pourras guérir. (Ⅱ)

- πατάξαι σε κύριος ἐν ἕλκει Αἰγυπτίω̨ ἐν ται̃ς ἕδραις καὶ ψώρα̨ ἀγρία̨ καὶ κνήφη̨ ὥστε μὴ δύνασθαί σε ἰαθη̃ναι (Ⅲ)

- Percutiat te Dominus ulcere Ægypti, et partem corporis, per quam stercora egeruntur, scabie quoque et prurigine : ita ut curari nequeas. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 27 ׃28 יככה יהוה בשחין מצרים *ובעפלים **ובטחרים ובגרב ובחרס אשר לא תוכל להרפא ‬ (Ⅴ)

28. 28

The LORD shall smite thee with madness, and blindness, and astonishment of heart:

- L'Éternel te frappera de délire, d'aveuglement, d'égarement d'esprit, (Ⅱ)

- πατάξαι σε κύριος παραπληξία̨ καὶ ἀορασία̨ καὶ ἐκστάσει διανοίας (Ⅲ)

- Percutiat te Dominus amentia et cæcitate ac furore mentis, (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 28 ׃28 יככה יהוה בשגעון ובעורון ובתמהון לבב ‬ (Ⅴ)

28. 29

And thou shalt grope at noonday, as the blind gropeth in darkness, and thou shalt not prosper in thy ways: and thou shalt be only oppressed and spoiled evermore, and no man shall save thee.

- et tu tâtonneras en plein midi comme l'aveugle dans l'obscurité, tu n'auras point de succès dans tes entreprises, et tu seras tous les jours opprimé, dépouillé, et il n'y aura personne pour venir à ton secours. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἔση̨ ψηλαφω̃ν μεσημβρίας ὡσεὶ ψηλαφήσαι ὁ τυφλὸς ἐν τω̨̃ σκότει καὶ οὐκ εὐοδώσει τὰς ὁδούς σου καὶ ἔση̨ τότε ἀδικούμενος καὶ διαρπαζόμενος πάσας τὰς ἡμέρας καὶ οὐκ ἔσται σοι ὁ βοηθω̃ν (Ⅲ)

- et palpes in meridie sicut palpare solet cæcus in tenebris, et non dirigas vias tuas. Omnique tempore calumniam sustineas, et opprimaris violentia, nec habeas qui liberet te. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 29 ׃28 והיית ממשש בצהרים כאשר ימשש העור באפלה ולא תצליח את דרכיך והיית אך עשוק וגזול כל הימים ואין מושיע ‬ (Ⅴ)

28. 30

Thou shalt betroth a wife, and another man shall lie with her: thou shalt build an house, and thou shalt not dwell therein: thou shalt plant a vineyard, and shalt not gather the grapes thereof.

- Tu auras une fiancée, et un autre homme couchera avec elle; tu bâtiras une maison, et tu ne l'habiteras pas; tu planteras une vigne, et tu n'en jouiras pas. (Ⅱ)

- γυναι̃κα λήμψη̨ καὶ ἀνὴρ ἕτερος ἕξει αὐτήν οἰκίαν οἰκοδομήσεις καὶ οὐκ οἰκήσεις ἐν αὐτη̨̃ ἀμπελω̃να φυτεύσεις καὶ οὐ τρυγήσεις αὐτόν (Ⅲ)

- Uxorem accipias, et alius dormiat cum ea. Domum ædifices, et non habites in ea. Plantes vineam, et non vindemies eam. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 30 ׃28 אשה תארש ואיש אחר *ישגלנה **ישכבנה בית תבנה ולא תשב בו כרם תטע ולא תחללנו‪[Q]‬‪[n]‬‪[p]‬ ‬ (Ⅴ)

28. 31

Thine ox shall be slain before thine eyes, and thou shalt not eat thereof: thine ass shall be violently taken away from before thy face, and shall not be restored to thee: thy sheep shall be given unto thine enemies, and thou shalt have none to rescue them.

- Ton boeuf sera égorgé sous tes yeux, et tu n'en mangeras pas; ton âne sera enlevé devant toi, et on ne te le rendra pas; tes brebis seront données à tes ennemis, et il n'y aura personne pour venir à ton secours. (Ⅱ)

- ὁ μόσχος σου ἐσφαγμένος ἐναντίον σου καὶ οὐ φάγη̨ ἐξ αὐτου̃ ὁ ὄνος σου ἡρπασμένος ἀπὸ σου̃ καὶ οὐκ ἀποδοθήσεταί σοι τὰ πρόβατά σου δεδομένα τοι̃ς ἐχθροι̃ς σου καὶ οὐκ ἔσται σοι ὁ βοηθω̃ν (Ⅲ)

- Bos tuus immoletur coram te, et non comedas ex eo. Asinus tuus rapiatur in conspectu tuo, et non reddatur tibi. Oves tuæ dentur inimicis tuis, et non sit qui te adjuvet. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 31 ׃28 שורך טבוח לעיניך ולא תאכל ממנו חמרך גזול מלפניך ולא ישוב לך צאנך נתנות לאיביך ואין לך מושיע ‬ (Ⅴ)

28. 32

Thy sons and thy daughters shall be given unto another people, and thine eyes shall look, and fail with longing for them all the day long; and there shall be no might in thine hand.

- Tes fils et tes filles seront livrés à un autre peuple, tes yeux le verront et languiront tout le jour après eux, et ta main sera sans force. (Ⅱ)

- οἱ υἱοί σου καὶ αἱ θυγατέρες σου δεδομέναι ἔθνει ἑτέρω̨ καὶ οἱ ὀφθαλμοί σου βλέψονται σφακελίζοντες εἰς αὐτά καὶ οὐκ ἰσχύσει ἡ χείρ σου (Ⅲ)

- Filii tui et filiæ tuæ tradantur alteri populo, videntibus oculis tuis, et deficientibus ad conspectum eorum tota die, et non sit fortitudo in manu tua. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 32 ׃28 בניך ובנתיך נתנים לעם אחר ועיניך ראות וכלות אליהם כל היום ואין לאל ידך ‬ (Ⅴ)

28. 33

The fruit of thy land, and all thy labors, shall a nation which thou knowest not eat up; and thou shalt be only oppressed and crushed alway:

- Un peuple que tu n'auras point connu mangera le fruit de ton sol et tout le produit de ton travail, et tu seras tous les jours opprimé et écrasé. (Ⅱ)

- τὰ ἐκφόρια τη̃ς γη̃ς σου καὶ πάντας τοὺς πόνους σου φάγεται ἔθνος ὃ οὐκ ἐπίστασαι καὶ ἔση̨ ἀδικούμενος καὶ τεθραυσμένος πάσας τὰς ἡμέρας (Ⅲ)

- Fructus terræ tuæ, et omnes labores tuos, comedat populus quem ignoras : et sis semper calumniam sustinens, et oppressus cunctis diebus, (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 33 ׃28 פרי אדמתך וכל יגיעך יאכל עם אשר לא ידעת והיית רק עשוק ורצוץ כל הימים ‬ (Ⅴ)

28. 34

So that thou shalt be mad for the sight of thine eyes which thou shalt see.

- Le spectacle que tu auras sous les yeux te jettera dans le délire. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἔση̨ παράπληκτος διὰ τὰ ὁράματα τω̃ν ὀφθαλμω̃ν σου ἃ βλέψη̨ (Ⅲ)

- et stupens ad terrorem eorum quæ videbunt oculi tui. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 34 ׃28 והיית משגע ממראה עיניך אשר תראה ‬ (Ⅴ)

28. 35

The LORD shall smite thee in the knees, and in the legs, with a sore botch that cannot be healed, from the sole of thy foot unto the top of thy head.

- L'Éternel te frappera aux genoux et aux cuisses d'un ulcère malin dont tu ne pourras guérir, il te frappera depuis la plante du pied jusqu'au sommet de la tête. (Ⅱ)

- πατάξαι σε κύριος ἐν ἕλκει πονηρω̨̃ ἐπὶ τὰ γόνατα καὶ ἐπὶ τὰς κνήμας ὥστε μὴ δύνασθαί σε ἰαθη̃ναι ἀπὸ ἴχνους τω̃ν ποδω̃ν σου ἕως τη̃ς κορυφη̃ς σου (Ⅲ)

- Percutiat te Dominus ulcere pessimo in genibus et in suris, sanarique non possis a planta pedis usque ad verticem tuum. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 35 ׃28 יככה יהוה בשחין רע על הברכים ועל השקים אשר לא תוכל להרפא מכף רגלך ועד קדקדך ‬ (Ⅴ)

28. 36

The LORD shall bring thee, and thy king which thou shalt set over thee, unto a nation which neither thou nor thy fathers have known; and there shalt thou serve other gods, wood and stone.

- L'Éternel te fera marcher, toi et ton roi que tu auras établi sur toi, vers une nation que tu n'auras point connue, ni toi ni tes pères. Et là, tu serviras d'autres dieux, du bois et de la pierre. (Ⅱ)

- ἀπαγάγοι κύριός σε καὶ τοὺς ἄρχοντάς σου οὓς ἐὰν καταστήση̨ς ἐπὶ σεαυτόν εἰς ἔθνος ὃ οὐκ ἐπίστασαι σὺ καὶ οἱ πατέρες σου καὶ λατρεύσεις ἐκει̃ θεοι̃ς ἑτέροις ξύλοις καὶ λίθοις (Ⅲ)

- Ducet te Dominus, et regem tuum, quem constitueris super te, in gentem, quam ignoras tu et patres tui : et servies ibi diis alienis, ligno et lapidi. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 36 ׃28 יולך יהוה אתך ואת מלכך אשר תקים עליך אל גוי אשר לא ידעת אתה ואבתיך ועבדת שם אלהים אחרים עץ ואבן ‬ (Ⅴ)

28. 37

And thou shalt become an astonishment, a proverb, and a byword, among all nations whither the LORD shall lead thee.

- Et tu seras un sujet d'étonnement, de sarcasme et de raillerie, parmi tous les peuples chez qui l'Éternel te mènera. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἔση̨ ἐκει̃ ἐν αἰνίγματι καὶ παραβολη̨̃ καὶ διηγήματι ἐν πα̃σιν τοι̃ς ἔθνεσιν εἰς οὓς ἂν ἀπαγάγη̨ σε κύριος ἐκει̃ (Ⅲ)

- Et eris perditus in proverbium ac fabulam omnibus populis, ad quos te introduxerit Dominus. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 37 ׃28 והיית לשמה למשל ולשנינה בכל העמים אשר ינהגך יהוה שמה ‬ (Ⅴ)

28. 38

Thou shalt carry much seed out into the field, and shalt gather but little in; for the locust shall consume it.

- Tu transporteras sur ton champ beaucoup de semence; et tu feras une faible récolte, car les sauterelles la dévoreront. (Ⅱ)

- σπέρμα πολὺ ἐξοίσεις εἰς τὸ πεδίον καὶ ὀλίγα εἰσοίσεις ὅτι κατέδεται αὐτὰ ἡ ἀκρίς (Ⅲ)

- Sementem multam jacies in terram, et modicum congregabis : quia locustæ devorabunt omnia. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 38 ׃28 זרע רב תוציא השדה ומעט תאסף כי יחסלנו הארבה ‬ (Ⅴ)

28. 39

Thou shalt plant vineyards, and dress them, but shalt neither drink of the wine, nor gather the grapes; for the worms shall eat them.

- Tu planteras des vignes et tu les cultiveras; et tu ne boiras pas de vin et tu ne feras pas de récolte, car les vers la mangeront. (Ⅱ)

- ἀμπελω̃να φυτεύσεις καὶ κατεργα̨̃ καὶ οἰ̃νον οὐ πίεσαι οὐδὲ εὐφρανθήση̨ ἐξ αὐτου̃ ὅτι καταφάγεται αὐτὰ ὁ σκώληξ (Ⅲ)

- Vineam plantabis, et fodies : et vinum non bibes, nec colliges ex ea quippiam : quoniam vastabitur vermibus. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 39 ׃28 כרמים תטע ועבדת ויין לא תשתה ולא תאגר כי תאכלנו התלעת ‬ (Ⅴ)

28. 40

Thou shalt have olive trees throughout all thy coasts, but thou shalt not anoint thyself with the oil; for thine olive shall cast his fruit.

- Tu auras des oliviers dans toute l'étendue de ton pays; et tu ne t'oindras pas d'huile, car tes olives tomberont. (Ⅱ)

- ἐλαι̃αι ἔσονταί σοι ἐν πα̃σι τοι̃ς ὁρίοις σου καὶ ἔλαιον οὐ χρίση̨ ὅτι ἐκρυήσεται ἡ ἐλαία σου (Ⅲ)

- Olivas habebis in omnibus terminis tuis, et non ungeris oleo : quia defluent, et peribunt. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 40 ׃28 זיתים יהיו לך בכל גבולך ושמן לא תסוך כי ישל זיתך ‬ (Ⅴ)

28. 41

Thou shalt beget sons and daughters, but thou shalt not enjoy them; for they shall go into captivity.

- Tu engendreras des fils et des filles; et ils ne seront pas à toi, car ils iront en captivité. (Ⅱ)

- υἱοὺς καὶ θυγατέρας γεννήσεις καὶ οὐκ ἔσονταί σοι ἀπελεύσονται γὰρ ἐν αἰχμαλωσία̨ (Ⅲ)

- Filios generabis et filias, et non frueris eis : quoniam ducentur in captivitatem. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 41 ׃28 בנים ובנות תוליד ולא יהיו לך כי ילכו בשבי ‬ (Ⅴ)

28. 42

All thy trees and fruit of thy land shall the locust consume.

- Les insectes prendront possession de tous tes arbres et du fruit de ton sol. (Ⅱ)

- πάντα τὰ ξύλινά σου καὶ τὰ γενήματα τη̃ς γη̃ς σου ἐξαναλώσει ἡ ἐρυσίβη (Ⅲ)

- Omnes arbores tuas et fruges terræ tuæ rubigo consumet. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 42 ׃28 כל עצך ופרי אדמתך יירש הצלצל ‬ (Ⅴ)

28. 43

The stranger that is within thee shall get up above thee very high; and thou shalt come down very low.

- L'étranger qui sera au milieu de toi s'élèvera toujours plus au-dessus de toi, et toi, tu descendras toujours plus bas; (Ⅱ)

- ὁ προσήλυτος ὅς ἐστιν ἐν σοί ἀναβήσεται ἐπὶ σὲ ἄνω ἄνω σὺ δὲ καταβήση̨ κάτω κάτω (Ⅲ)

- Advena, qui tecum versatur in terra, ascendet super te, eritque sublimior : tu autem descendes, et eris inferior. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 43 ׃28 הגר אשר בקרבך יעלה עליך מעלה מעלה ואתה תרד מטה מטה ‬ (Ⅴ)

28. 44

He shall lend to thee, and thou shalt not lend to him: he shall be the head, and thou shalt be the tail.

- il te prêtera, et tu ne lui prêteras pas; il sera la tête, et tu seras la queue. (Ⅱ)

- οὑ̃τος δανιει̃ σοι σὺ δὲ τούτω̨ οὐ δανιει̃ς οὑ̃τος ἔσται κεφαλή σὺ δὲ ἔση̨ οὐρά (Ⅲ)

- Ipse fœnerabit tibi, et tu non fœnerabis ei. Ipse erit in caput, et tu eris in caudam. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 44 ׃28 הוא ילוך ואתה לא תלונו הוא יהיה לראש ואתה תהיה לזנב ‬ (Ⅴ)

28. 45

Moreover all these curses shall come upon thee, and shall pursue thee, and overtake thee, till thou be destroyed; because thou hearkenedst not unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to keep his commandments and his statutes which he commanded thee:

- Toutes ces malédictions viendront sur toi, elles te poursuivront et seront ton partage jusqu'à ce que tu sois détruit, parce que tu n'auras pas obéi à la voix de l'Éternel, ton Dieu, parce que tu n'auras pas observé ses commandements et ses lois qu'il te prescrit. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐλεύσονται ἐπὶ σὲ πα̃σαι αἱ κατάραι αὑ̃ται καὶ καταδιώξονταί σε καὶ καταλήμψονταί σε ἕως ἂν ἐξολεθρεύση̨ σε καὶ ἕως ἂν ἀπολέση̨ σε ὅτι οὐκ εἰσήκουσας τη̃ς φωνη̃ς κυρίου του̃ θεου̃ σου φυλάξαι τὰς ἐντολὰς αὐτου̃ καὶ τὰ δικαιώματα αὐτου̃ ὅσα ἐνετείλατό σοι (Ⅲ)

- Et venient super te omnes maledictiones istæ, et persequentes apprehendent te, donec intereas : quia non audisti vocem Domini Dei tui, nec servasti mandata ejus et cæremonias, quas præcepit tibi. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 45 ׃28 ובאו עליך כל הקללות האלה ורדפוך והשיגוך עד השמדך כי לא שמעת בקול יהוה אלהיך לשמר מצותיו וחקתיו אשר צוך ‬ (Ⅴ)

28. 46

And they shall be upon thee for a sign and for a wonder, and upon thy seed for ever.

- Elles seront à jamais pour toi et pour tes descendants comme des signes et des prodiges. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἔσται ἐν σοὶ σημει̃α καὶ τέρατα καὶ ἐν τω̨̃ σπέρματί σου ἕως του̃ αἰω̃νος (Ⅲ)

- Et erunt in te signa atque prodigia, et in semine tuo usque in sempiternum : (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 46 ׃28 והיו בך לאות ולמופת ובזרעך עד עולם ‬ (Ⅴ)

28. 47

Because thou servedst not the LORD thy God with joyfulness, and with gladness of heart, for the abundance of all things;

- Pour n'avoir pas, au milieu de l'abondance de toutes choses, servi l'Éternel, ton Dieu, avec joie et de bon coeur, (Ⅱ)

- ἀνθ' ὡ̃ν οὐκ ἐλάτρευσας κυρίω̨ τω̨̃ θεω̨̃ σου ἐν εὐφροσύνη̨ καὶ ἀγαθη̨̃ καρδία̨ διὰ τὸ πλη̃θος πάντων (Ⅲ)

- eo quod non servieris Domino Deo tuo in gaudio, cordisque lætitia, propter rerum omnium abundantiam. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 47 ׃28 תחת אשר לא עבדת את יהוה אלהיך בשמחה ובטוב לבב מרב כל ‬ (Ⅴ)

28. 48

Therefore shalt thou serve thine enemies which the LORD shall send against thee, in hunger, and in thirst, and in nakedness, and in want of all things: and he shall put a yoke of iron upon thy neck, until he have destroyed thee.

- tu serviras, au milieu de la faim, de la soif, de la nudité et de la disette de toutes choses, tes ennemis que l'Éternel enverra contre toi. Il mettra un joug de fer sur ton cou, jusqu'à ce qu'il t'ait détruit. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ λατρεύσεις τοι̃ς ἐχθροι̃ς σου οὓς ἐπαποστελει̃ κύριος ἐπὶ σέ ἐν λιμω̨̃ καὶ ἐν δίψει καὶ ἐν γυμνότητι καὶ ἐν ἐκλείψει πάντων καὶ ἐπιθήσει κλοιὸν σιδηρου̃ν ἐπὶ τὸν τράχηλόν σου ἕως ἂν ἐξολεθρεύση̨ σε (Ⅲ)

- Servies inimico tuo, quem immittet tibi Dominus, in fame, et siti, et nuditate, et omni penuria : et ponet jugum ferreum super cervicem tuam, donec te conterat.\ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 48 ׃28 ועבדת את איביך אשר ישלחנו יהוה בך ברעב ובצמא ובעירם ובחסר כל ונתן על ברזל על צוארך עד השמידו אתך ‬ (Ⅴ)

28. 49

The LORD shall bring a nation against thee from far, from the end of the earth, as swift as the eagle flieth; a nation whose tongue thou shalt not understand;

- L'Éternel fera partir de loin, des extrémités de la terre, une nation qui fondra sur toi d'un vol d'aigle, une nation dont tu n'entendras point la langue, (Ⅱ)

- ἐπάξει κύριος ἐπὶ σὲ ἔθνος μακρόθεν ἀπ' ἐσχάτου τη̃ς γη̃ς ὡσεὶ ὅρμημα ἀετου̃ ἔθνος ὃ οὐκ ἀκούση̨ τη̃ς φωνη̃ς αὐτου̃ (Ⅲ)

- Adducet Dominus super te gentem de longinquo, et de extremis terræ finibus in similitudinem aquilæ volantis cum impetu, cujus linguam intelligere non possis : (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 49 ׃28 ישא יהוה עליך גוי מרחוק מקצה הארץ כאשר ידאה הנשר גוי אשר לא תשמע לשנו ‬ (Ⅴ)

28. 50

A nation of fierce countenance, which shall not regard the person of the old, nor show favor to the young:

- une nation au visage farouche, et qui n'aura ni respect pour le vieillard ni pitié pour l'enfant. (Ⅱ)

- ἔθνος ἀναιδὲς προσώπω̨ ὅστις οὐ θαυμάσει πρόσωπον πρεσβύτου καὶ νέον οὐκ ἐλεήσει (Ⅲ)

- gentem procacissimam, quæ non deferat seni, nec misereatur parvuli, (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 50 ׃28 גוי עז פנים אשר לא ישא פנים לזקן ונער לא יחן ‬ (Ⅴ)
