4. 1

Now therefore hearken, O Israel, unto the statutes and unto the judgments, which I teach you, for to do them, that ye may live, and go in and possess the land which the LORD God of your fathers giveth you.

- Maintenant, Israël, écoute les lois et les ordonnances que je vous enseigne. Mettez-les en pratique, afin que vous viviez, et que vous entriez en possession du pays que vous donne l'Éternel, le Dieu de vos pères. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ νυ̃ν Ισραηλ ἄκουε τω̃ν δικαιωμάτων καὶ τω̃ν κριμάτων ὅσα ἐγὼ διδάσκω ὑμα̃ς σήμερον ποιει̃ν ἵνα ζη̃τε καὶ πολυπλασιασθη̃τε καὶ εἰσελθόντες κληρονομήσητε τὴν γη̃ν ἣν κύριος ὁ θεὸς τω̃ν πατέρων ὑμω̃ν δίδωσιν ὑμι̃ν (Ⅲ)

- Et nunc, Israël, audi præcepta et judicia, quæ ego doceo te : ut faciens ea, vivas, et ingrediens possideas terram, quam Dominus Deus patrum vestrorum daturus est vobis. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 1 ׃4 ועתה ישראל שמע אל החקים ואל המשפטים אשר אנכי מלמד אתכם לעשות למען תחיו ובאתם וירשתם את הארץ אשר יהוה אלהי אבתיכם נתן לכם ‬ (Ⅴ)

4. 2

Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the LORD your God which I command you.

- Vous n'ajouterez rien à ce que je vous prescris, et vous n'en retrancherez rien; mais vous observerez les commandements de l'Éternel, votre Dieu, tels que je vous les prescris. (Ⅱ)

- οὐ προσθήσετε πρὸς τὸ ῥη̃μα ὃ ἐγὼ ἐντέλλομαι ὑμι̃ν καὶ οὐκ ἀφελει̃τε ἀπ' αὐτου̃ φυλάσσεσθε τὰς ἐντολὰς κυρίου του̃ θεου̃ ὑμω̃ν ὅσα ἐγὼ ἐντέλλομαι ὑμι̃ν σήμερον (Ⅲ)

- Non addetis ad verbum, quod vobis loquor, nec auferetis ex eo : custodite mandata Domini Dei vestri, quæ ego præcipio vobis. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 2 ׃4 לא תספו על הדבר אשר אנכי מצוה אתכם ולא תגרעו ממנו לשמר את מצות יהוה אלהיכם אשר אנכי מצוה אתכם ‬ (Ⅴ)

4. 3

Your eyes have seen what the LORD did because of Baalpeor: for all the men that followed Baalpeor, the LORD thy God hath destroyed them from among you.

- Vos yeux ont vu ce que l'Éternel a fait à l'occasion de Baal Peor: l'Éternel, ton Dieu, a détruit du milieu de toi tous ceux qui étaient allés après Baal Peor. (Ⅱ)

- οἱ ὀφθαλμοὶ ὑμω̃ν ἑωράκασιν πάντα ὅσα ἐποίησεν κύριος ὁ θεὸς ἡμω̃ν τω̨̃ Βεελφεγωρ ὅτι πα̃ς ἄνθρωπος ὅστις ἐπορεύθη ὀπίσω Βεελφεγωρ ἐξέτριψεν αὐτὸν κύριος ὁ θεὸς ὑμω̃ν ἐξ ὑμω̃ν (Ⅲ)

- Oculi vestri viderunt omnia quæ fecit Dominus contra Beelphegor, quomodo contriverit omnes cultores ejus de medio vestri. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 3 ׃4 עיניכם הראת את אשר עשה יהוה בבעל פעור כי כל האיש אשר הלך אחרי בעל פעור השמידו יהוה אלהיך מקרבך ‬ (Ⅴ)

4. 4

But ye that did cleave unto the LORD your God are alive every one of you this day.

- Et vous, qui vous êtes attachés à l'Éternel, votre Dieu, vous êtes aujourd'hui tous vivants. (Ⅱ)

- ὑμει̃ς δὲ οἱ προσκείμενοι κυρίω̨ τω̨̃ θεω̨̃ ὑμω̃ν ζη̃τε πάντες ἐν τη̨̃ σήμερον (Ⅲ)

- Vos autem qui adhæretis Domino Deo vestro, vivitis universi usque in præsentem diem. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 4 ׃4 ואתם הדבקים ביהוה אלהיכם חיים כלכם היום ‬ (Ⅴ)

4. 5

Behold, I have taught you statutes and judgments, even as the LORD my God commanded me, that ye should do so in the land whither ye go to possess it.

- Voici, je vous ai enseigné des lois et des ordonnances, comme l'Éternel, mon Dieu, me l'a commandé, afin que vous les mettiez en pratique dans le pays dont vous allez prendre possession. (Ⅱ)

- ἴδετε δέδειχα ὑμι̃ν δικαιώματα καὶ κρίσεις καθὰ ἐνετείλατό μοι κύριος ποιη̃σαι οὕτως ἐν τη̨̃ γη̨̃ εἰς ἣν ὑμει̃ς εἰσπορεύεσθε ἐκει̃ κληρονομει̃ν αὐτήν (Ⅲ)

- Scitis quod docuerim vos præcepta atque justitias, sicut mandavit mihi Dominus Deus meus : sic facietis ea in terra, quam possessuri estis : (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 5 ׃4 ראה למדתי אתכם חקים ומשפטים כאשר צוני יהוה אלהי לעשות כן בקרב הארץ אשר אתם באים שמה לרשתה ‬ (Ⅴ)

4. 6

Keep therefore and do them; for this is your wisdom and your understanding in the sight of the nations, which shall hear all these statutes, and say, Surely this great nation is a wise and understanding people.

- Vous les observerez et vous les mettrez en pratique; car ce sera là votre sagesse et votre intelligence aux yeux des peuples, qui entendront parler de toutes ces lois et qui diront: Cette grande nation est un peuple absolument sage et intelligent! (Ⅱ)

- καὶ φυλάξεσθε καὶ ποιήσετε ὅτι αὕτη ἡ σοφία ὑμω̃ν καὶ ἡ σύνεσις ἐναντίον πάντων τω̃ν ἐθνω̃ν ὅσοι ἐὰν ἀκούσωσιν πάντα τὰ δικαιώματα ταυ̃τα καὶ ἐρου̃σιν ἰδοὺ λαὸς σοφὸς καὶ ἐπιστήμων τὸ ἔθνος τὸ μέγα του̃το (Ⅲ)

- et observabitis et implebitis opere. Hæc est enim vestra sapientia, et intellectus coram populis, ut audientes universa præcepta hæc, dicant : En populus sapiens et intelligens, gens magna. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 6 ׃4 ושמרתם ועשיתם כי הוא חכמתכם ובינתכם לעיני העמים אשר ישמעון את כל החקים האלה ואמרו רק עם חכם ונבון הגוי הגדול הזה ‬ (Ⅴ)

4. 7

For what nation is there so great, who hath God so nigh unto them, as the LORD our God is in all things that we call upon him for?

- Quelle est, en effet, la grande nation qui ait des dieux aussi proches que l'Éternel, notre Dieu, l'est de nous toutes les fois que nous l'invoquons? (Ⅱ)

- ὅτι ποι̃ον ἔθνος μέγα ὡ̨̃ ἐστιν αὐτω̨̃ θεὸς ἐγγίζων αὐτοι̃ς ὡς κύριος ὁ θεὸς ἡμω̃ν ἐν πα̃σιν οἱ̃ς ἐὰν αὐτὸν ἐπικαλεσώμεθα (Ⅲ)

- Nec est alia natio tam grandis, quæ habeat deos appropinquantes sibi, sicut Deus noster adest cunctis obsecrationibus nostris. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 7 ׃4 כי מי גוי גדול אשר לו אלהים קרבים אליו כיהוה אלהינו בכל קראנו‪[Q]‬‪[n]‬‪[p]‬ אליו ‬ (Ⅴ)

4. 8

And what nation is there so great, that hath statutes and judgments so righteous as all this law, which I set before you this day?

- Et quelle est la grande nation qui ait des lois et des ordonnances justes, comme toute cette loi que je vous présente aujourd'hui? (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ποι̃ον ἔθνος μέγα ὡ̨̃ ἐστιν αὐτω̨̃ δικαιώματα καὶ κρίματα δίκαια κατὰ πάντα τὸν νόμον του̃τον ὃν ἐγὼ δίδωμι ἐνώπιον ὑμω̃ν σήμερον (Ⅲ)

- Quæ est enim alia gens sic inclyta, ut habeat cæremonias, justaque judicia, et universam legem, quam ego proponam hodie ante oculos vestros ?\ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 8 ׃4 ומי גוי גדול אשר לו חקים ומשפטים צדיקם ככל התורה הזאת אשר אנכי נתן לפניכם היום ‬ (Ⅴ)

Only take heed to thyself, and keep thy soul diligently, lest thou forget the things which thine eyes have seen, and lest they depart from thy heart all the days of thy life: but teach them thy sons, and thy sons' sons;

- Seulement, prends garde à toi et veille attentivement sur ton âme, tous les jours de ta vie, de peur que tu n'oublies les choses que tes yeux ont vues, et qu'elles ne sortent de ton coeur; enseigne-les à tes enfants et aux enfants de tes enfants. (Ⅱ)

- πρόσεχε σεαυτω̨̃ καὶ φύλαξον τὴν ψυχήν σου σφόδρα μὴ ἐπιλάθη̨ πάντας τοὺς λόγους οὓς ἑωράκασιν οἱ ὀφθαλμοί σου καὶ μὴ ἀποστήτωσαν ἀπὸ τη̃ς καρδίας σου πάσας τὰς ἡμέρας τη̃ς ζωη̃ς σου καὶ συμβιβάσεις τοὺς υἱούς σου καὶ τοὺς υἱοὺς τω̃ν υἱω̃ν σου (Ⅲ)

- Custodi igitur temetipsum, et animam tuam sollicite. Ne obliviscaris verborum, quæ viderunt oculi tui, et ne excidant de corde tuo cunctis diebus vitæ tuæ. Docebis ea filios ac nepotes tuos, (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 9 ׃4 רק השמר לך ושמר נפשך מאד פן תשכח את הדברים אשר ראו עיניך ופן יסורו מלבבך כל ימי חייך והודעתם לבניך ולבני בניך ‬ (Ⅴ)

4. 10

Specially the day that thou stoodest before the LORD thy God in Horeb, when the LORD said unto me, Gather me the people together, and I will make them hear my words, that they may learn to fear me all the days that they shall live upon the earth, and that they may teach their children.

- Souviens-toi du jour où tu te présentas devant l'Éternel, ton Dieu, à Horeb, lorsque l'Éternel me dit: Assemble auprès de moi le peuple! Je veux leur faire entendre mes paroles, afin qu'ils apprennent à me craindre tout le temps qu'ils vivront sur la terre; et afin qu'ils les enseignent à leurs enfants. (Ⅱ)

- ἡμέραν ἣν ἔστητε ἐναντίον κυρίου του̃ θεου̃ ὑμω̃ν ἐν Χωρηβ τη̨̃ ἡμέρα̨ τη̃ς ἐκκλησίας ὅτε εἰ̃πεν κύριος πρός με ἐκκλησίασον πρός με τὸν λαόν καὶ ἀκουσάτωσαν τὰ ῥήματά μου ὅπως μάθωσιν φοβει̃σθαί με πάσας τὰς ἡμέρας ἃς αὐτοὶ ζω̃σιν ἐπὶ τη̃ς γη̃ς καὶ τοὺς υἱοὺς αὐτω̃ν διδάξωσιν (Ⅲ)

- a die in quo stetisti coram Domino Deo tuo in Horeb, quando Dominus locutus est mihi, dicens : Congrega ad me populum, ut audiant sermones meos, et discant timere me omni tempore quo vivunt in terra, doceantque filios suos. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 10 ׃4 יום אשר עמדת לפני יהוה אלהיך בחרב באמר יהוה אלי הקהל לי את העם ואשמעם את דברי אשר ילמדון ליראה אתי כל הימים אשר הם חיים על האדמה ואת בניהם ילמדון ‬ (Ⅴ)

4. 11

And ye came near and stood under the mountain; and the mountain burned with fire unto the midst of heaven, with darkness, clouds, and thick darkness.

- Vous vous approchâtes et vous vous tîntes au pied de la montagne. La montagne était embrasée, et les flammes s'élevaient jusqu'au milieu du ciel. Il y avait des ténèbres, des nuées, de l'obscurité. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ προσήλθετε καὶ ἔστητε ὑπὸ τὸ ὄρος καὶ τὸ ὄρος ἐκαίετο πυρὶ ἕως του̃ οὐρανου̃ σκότος γνόφος θύελλα φωνὴ μεγάλη (Ⅲ)

- Et accessistis ad radices montis, qui ardebat usque ad cælum : erantque in eo tenebræ, et nubes, et caligo. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 11 ׃4 ותקרבון ותעמדון תחת ההר וההר בער באש עד לב השמים חשך ענן וערפל ‬ (Ⅴ)

4. 12

And the LORD spake unto you out of the midst of the fire: ye heard the voice of the words, but saw no similitude; only ye heard a voice.

- Et l'Éternel vous parla du milieu du feu; vous entendîtes le son des paroles, mais vous ne vîtes point de figure, vous n'entendîtes qu'une voix. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐλάλησεν κύριος πρὸς ὑμα̃ς ἐκ μέσου του̃ πυρός φωνὴν ῥημάτων ὑμει̃ς ἠκούσατε καὶ ὁμοίωμα οὐκ εἴδετε ἀλλ' ἢ φωνήν (Ⅲ)

- Locutusque est Dominus ad vos de medio ignis. Vocem verborum ejus audistis, et formam penitus non vidistis. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 12 ׃4 וידבר יהוה אליכם מתוך האש קול דברים אתם שמעים ותמונה אינכם ראים זולתי קול ‬ (Ⅴ)

4. 13

And he declared unto you his covenant, which he commanded you to perform, even ten commandments; and he wrote them upon two tables of stone.

- Il publia son alliance, qu'il vous ordonna d'observer, les dix commandements; et il les écrivit sur deux tables de pierre. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἀνήγγειλεν ὑμι̃ν τὴν διαθήκην αὐτου̃ ἣν ἐνετείλατο ὑμι̃ν ποιει̃ν τὰ δέκα ῥήματα καὶ ἔγραψεν αὐτὰ ἐπὶ δύο πλάκας λιθίνας (Ⅲ)

- Et ostendit vobis pactum suum, quod præcepit ut faceretis, et decem verba, quæ scripsit in duabus tabulis lapideis. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 13 ׃4 ויגד לכם את בריתו אשר צוה אתכם לעשות עשרת הדברים ויכתבם על שני לחות אבנים ‬ (Ⅴ)

4. 14

And the LORD commanded me at that time to teach you statutes and judgments, that ye might do them in the land whither ye go over to possess it.

- En ce temps-là, l'Éternel me commanda de vous enseigner des lois et des ordonnances, afin que vous les mettiez en pratique dans le pays dont vous allez prendre possession. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐμοὶ ἐνετείλατο κύριος ἐν τω̨̃ καιρω̨̃ ἐκείνω̨ διδάξαι ὑμα̃ς δικαιώματα καὶ κρίσεις ποιει̃ν αὐτὰ ὑμα̃ς ἐπὶ τη̃ς γη̃ς εἰς ἣν ὑμει̃ς εἰσπορεύεσθε ἐκει̃ κληρονομει̃ν αὐτήν (Ⅲ)

- Mihique mandavit in illo tempore ut docerem vos cæremonias et judicia, quæ facere deberetis in terra, quam possessuri estis. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 14 ׃4 ואתי צוה יהוה בעת ההוא ללמד אתכם חקים ומשפטים לעשתכם אתם בארץ אשר אתם עברים שמה לרשתה ‬ (Ⅴ)

4. 15

Take ye therefore good heed unto yourselves; for ye saw no manner of similitude on the day that the LORD spake unto you in Horeb out of the midst of the fire:

- Puisque vous n'avez vu aucune figure le jour où l'Éternel vous parla du milieu du feu, à Horeb, veillez attentivement sur vos âmes, (Ⅱ)

- καὶ φυλάξεσθε σφόδρα τὰς ψυχὰς ὑμω̃ν ὅτι οὐκ εἴδετε ὁμοίωμα ἐν τη̨̃ ἡμέρα̨ ἡ̨̃ ἐλάλησεν κύριος πρὸς ὑμα̃ς ἐν Χωρηβ ἐν τω̨̃ ὄρει ἐκ μέσου του̃ πυρός (Ⅲ)

- Custodite igitur sollicite animas vestras. Non vidistis aliquam similitudinem in die, qua locutus est vobis Dominus in Horeb de medio ignis : (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 15 ׃4 ונשמרתם מאד לנפשתיכם כי לא ראיתם כל תמונה ביום דבר יהוה אליכם בחרב מתוך האש ‬ (Ⅴ)

4. 16

Lest ye corrupt yourselves, and make you a graven image, the similitude of any figure, the likeness of male or female,

- de peur que vous ne vous corrompiez et que vous ne vous fassiez une image taillée, une représentation de quelque idole, la figure d'un homme ou d'une femme, (Ⅱ)

- μὴ ἀνομήσητε καὶ ποιήσητε ὑμι̃ν ἑαυτοι̃ς γλυπτὸν ὁμοίωμα πα̃σαν εἰκόνα ὁμοίωμα ἀρσενικου̃ ἢ θηλυκου̃ (Ⅲ)

- ne forte decepti faciatis vobis sculptam similitudinem, aut imaginem masculi vel feminæ : (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 16 ׃4 פן תשחתון ועשיתם לכם פסל תמונת כל סמל תבנית זכר או נקבה ‬ (Ⅴ)

4. 17

The likeness of any beast that is on the earth, the likeness of any winged fowl that flieth in the air,

- la figure d'un animal qui soit sur la terre, la figure d'un oiseau qui vole dans les cieux, (Ⅱ)

- ὁμοίωμα παντὸς κτήνους τω̃ν ὄντων ἐπὶ τη̃ς γη̃ς ὁμοίωμα παντὸς ὀρνέου πτερωτου̃ ὃ πέταται ὑπὸ τὸν οὐρανόν (Ⅲ)

- similitudinem omnium jumentorum, quæ sunt super terram, vel avium sub cælo volantium, (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 17 ׃4 תבנית כל בהמה אשר בארץ תבנית כל צפור כנף אשר תעוף בשמים ‬ (Ⅴ)

4. 18

The likeness of any thing that creepeth on the ground, the likeness of any fish that is in the waters beneath the earth:

- la figure d'une bête qui rampe sur le sol, la figure d'un poisson qui vive dans les eaux au-dessous de la terre. (Ⅱ)

- ὁμοίωμα παντὸς ἑρπετου̃ ὃ ἕρπει ἐπὶ τη̃ς γη̃ς ὁμοίωμα παντὸς ἰχθύος ὅσα ἐστὶν ἐν τοι̃ς ὕδασιν ὑποκάτω τη̃ς γη̃ς (Ⅲ)

- atque reptilium, quæ moventur in terra, sive piscium qui sub terra morantur in aquis : (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 18 ׃4 תבנית כל רמש באדמה תבנית כל דגה אשר במים מתחת לארץ ‬ (Ⅴ)

4. 19

And lest thou lift up thine eyes unto heaven, and when thou seest the sun, and the moon, and the stars, even all the host of heaven, shouldest be driven to worship them, and serve them, which the LORD thy God hath divided unto all nations under the whole heaven.

- Veille sur ton âme, de peur que, levant tes yeux vers le ciel, et voyant le soleil, la lune et les étoiles, toute l'armée des cieux, tu ne sois entraîné à te prosterner en leur présence et à leur rendre un culte: ce sont des choses que l'Éternel, ton Dieu, a données en partage à tous les peuples, sous le ciel tout entier. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ μὴ ἀναβλέψας εἰς τὸν οὐρανὸν καὶ ἰδὼν τὸν ἥλιον καὶ τὴν σελήνην καὶ τοὺς ἀστέρας καὶ πάντα τὸν κόσμον του̃ οὐρανου̃ πλανηθεὶς προσκυνήση̨ς αὐτοι̃ς καὶ λατρεύση̨ς αὐτοι̃ς ἃ ἀπένειμεν κύριος ὁ θεός σου αὐτὰ πα̃σιν τοι̃ς ἔθνεσιν τοι̃ς ὑποκάτω του̃ οὐρανου̃ (Ⅲ)

- ne forte elevatis oculis ad cælum, videas solem et lunam, et omnia astra cæli, et errore deceptus adores ea, et colas quæ creavit Dominus Deus tuus in ministerium cunctis gentibus, quæ sub cælo sunt. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 19 ׃4 ופן תשא עיניך השמימה וראית את השמש ואת הירח ואת הכוכבים כל צבא השמים ונדחת והשתחוית להם ועבדתם אשר חלק יהוה אלהיך אתם לכל העמים תחת כל השמים ‬ (Ⅴ)

4. 20

But the LORD hath taken you, and brought you forth out of the iron furnace, even out of Egypt, to be unto him a people of inheritance, as ye are this day.

- Mais vous, l'Éternel vous a pris, et vous a fait sortir de la fournaise de fer de l'Égypte, afin que vous fussiez un peuple qui lui appartînt en propre, comme vous l'êtes aujourd'hui. (Ⅱ)

- ὑμα̃ς δὲ ἔλαβεν ὁ θεὸς καὶ ἐξήγαγεν ὑμα̃ς ἐκ τη̃ς καμίνου τη̃ς σιδηρα̃ς ἐξ Αἰγύπτου εἰ̃ναι αὐτω̨̃ λαὸν ἔγκληρον ὡς ἐν τη̨̃ ἡμέρα̨ ταύτη̨ (Ⅲ)

- Vos autem tulit Dominus, et eduxit de fornace ferrea Ægypti, ut haberet populum hæreditarium, sicut est in præsenti die.\ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 20 ׃4 ואתכם לקח יהוה ויוצא אתכם מכור הברזל ממצרים להיות לו לעם נחלה כיום הזה ‬ (Ⅴ)

4. 21

Furthermore the LORD was angry with me for your sakes, and sware that I should not go over Jordan, and that I should not go in unto that good land, which the LORD thy God giveth thee for an inheritance:

- Et l'Éternel s'irrita contre moi, à cause de vous; et il jura que je ne passerais point le Jourdain, et que je n'entrerais point dans le bon pays que l'Éternel, ton Dieu, te donne en héritage. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ κύριος ἐθυμώθη μοι περὶ τω̃ν λεγομένων ὑφ' ὑμω̃ν καὶ ὤμοσεν ἵνα μὴ διαβω̃ τὸν Ιορδάνην του̃τον καὶ ἵνα μὴ εἰσέλθω εἰς τὴν γη̃ν ἣν κύριος ὁ θεὸς δίδωσίν σοι ἐν κλήρω̨ (Ⅲ)

- Iratusque est Dominus contra me propter sermones vestros, et juravit ut non transirem Jordanem, nec ingrederer terram optimam, quam daturus est vobis. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 21 ׃4 ויהוה התאנף בי‪[U]‬ על דבריכם וישבע לבלתי עברי את הירדן ולבלתי בא אל הארץ הטובה אשר יהוה אלהיך נתן לך נחלה ‬ (Ⅴ)

4. 22

But I must die in this land, I must not go over Jordan: but ye shall go over, and possess that good land.

- Je mourrai donc en ce pays-ci, je ne passerai point le Jourdain; mais vous le passerez, et vous posséderez ce bon pays. (Ⅱ)

- ἐγὼ γὰρ ἀποθνή̨σκω ἐν τη̨̃ γη̨̃ ταύτη̨ καὶ οὐ διαβαίνω τὸν Ιορδάνην του̃τον ὑμει̃ς δὲ διαβαίνετε καὶ κληρονομήσετε τὴν γη̃ν τὴν ἀγαθὴν ταύτην (Ⅲ)

- Ecce morior in hac humo ; non transibo Jordanem : vos transibitis, et possidebitis terram egregiam. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 22 ׃4 כי אנכי מת בארץ הזאת אינני עבר את הירדן ואתם עברים וירשתם את הארץ הטובה הזאת ‬ (Ⅴ)

4. 23

Take heed unto yourselves, lest ye forget the covenant of the LORD your God, which he made with you, and make you a graven image, or the likeness of any thing, which the LORD thy God hath forbidden thee.

- Veillez sur vous, afin de ne point mettre en oubli l'alliance que l'Éternel, votre Dieu, a traitée avec vous, et de ne point vous faire d'image taillée, de représentation quelconque, que l'Éternel, ton Dieu, t'ait défendue. (Ⅱ)

- προσέχετε ὑμει̃ς μὴ ἐπιλάθησθε τὴν διαθήκην κυρίου του̃ θεου̃ ὑμω̃ν ἣν διέθετο πρὸς ὑμα̃ς καὶ ποιήσητε ὑμι̃ν ἑαυτοι̃ς γλυπτὸν ὁμοίωμα πάντων ὡ̃ν συνέταξεν κύριος ὁ θεός σου (Ⅲ)

- Cave nequando obliviscaris pacti Domini Dei tui, quod pepigit tecum, et facias tibi sculptam similitudinem eorum, quæ fieri Dominus prohibuit : (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 23 ׃4 השמרו לכם פן תשכחו את ברית יהוה אלהיכם אשר כרת עמכם ועשיתם לכם פסל תמונת כל אשר צוך יהוה אלהיך ‬ (Ⅴ)

4. 24

For the LORD thy God is a consuming fire, even a jealous God.

- Car l'Éternel, ton Dieu, est un feu dévorant, un Dieu jaloux. (Ⅱ)

- ὅτι κύριος ὁ θεός σου πυ̃ρ καταναλίσκον ἐστίν θεὸς ζηλωτής (Ⅲ)

- quia Dominus Deus tuus ignis consumens est, Deus æmulator. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 24 ׃4 כי יהוה אלהיך אש אכלה הוא אל קנא פ‬ (Ⅴ)

4. 25

When thou shalt beget children, and children's children, and ye shall have remained long in the land, and shall corrupt yourselves, and make a graven image, or the likeness of any thing, and shall do evil in the sight of the LORD thy God, to provoke him to anger:

- Lorsque tu auras des enfants, et des enfants de tes enfants, et que vous serez depuis longtemps dans le pays, si vous vous corrompez, si vous faites des images taillées, des représentations de quoi que ce soit, si vous faites ce qui est mal aux yeux de l'Éternel, votre Dieu, pour l'irriter, - (Ⅱ)

- ἐὰν δὲ γεννήση̨ς υἱοὺς καὶ υἱοὺς τω̃ν υἱω̃ν σου καὶ χρονίσητε ἐπὶ τη̃ς γη̃ς καὶ ἀνομήσητε καὶ ποιήσητε γλυπτὸν ὁμοίωμα παντὸς καὶ ποιήσητε τὰ πονηρὰ ἐναντίον κυρίου του̃ θεου̃ ὑμω̃ν παροργίσαι αὐτόν (Ⅲ)

- Si genueritis filios ac nepotes, et morati fueritis in terra, deceptique feceritis vobis aliquam similitudinem, patrantes malum coram Domino Deo vestro, ut eum ad iracundiam provocetis : (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 25 ׃4 כי תוליד בנים ובני בנים ונושנתם בארץ והשחתם ועשיתם פסל תמונת כל ועשיתם הרע בעיני יהוה אלהיך להכעיסו ‬ (Ⅴ)

4. 26

I call heaven and earth to witness against you this day, that ye shall soon utterly perish from off the land whereunto ye go over Jordan to possess it; ye shall not prolong your days upon it, but shall utterly be destroyed.

- j'en prends aujourd'hui à témoin contre vous le ciel et la terre, -vous disparaîtrez par une mort rapide du pays dont vous allez prendre possession au delà du Jourdain, vous n'y prolongerez pas vos jours, car vous serez entièrement détruits. (Ⅱ)

- διαμαρτύρομαι ὑμι̃ν σήμερον τόν τε οὐρανὸν καὶ τὴν γη̃ν ὅτι ἀπωλεία̨ ἀπολει̃σθε ἀπὸ τη̃ς γη̃ς εἰς ἣν ὑμει̃ς διαβαίνετε τὸν Ιορδάνην ἐκει̃ κληρονομη̃σαι αὐτήν οὐχὶ πολυχρονιει̃τε ἡμέρας ἐπ' αὐτη̃ς ἀλλ' ἢ ἐκτριβη̨̃ ἐκτριβήσεσθε (Ⅲ)

- testes invoco hodie cælum et terram, cito perituros vos esse de terra, quam transito Jordane possessuri estis : non habitabitis in ea longo tempore, sed delebit vos Dominus, (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 26 ׃4 העידתי בכם היום את השמים ואת הארץ כי אבד תאבדון מהר מעל הארץ אשר אתם עברים את הירדן שמה לרשתה לא תאריכן ימים עליה כי השמד תשמדון ‬ (Ⅴ)

4. 27

And the LORD shall scatter you among the nations, and ye shall be left few in number among the heathen, whither the LORD shall lead you.

- L'Éternel vous dispersera parmi les peuples, et vous ne resterez qu'un petit nombre au milieu des nations où l'Éternel vous emmènera. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ διασπερει̃ κύριος ὑμα̃ς ἐν πα̃σιν τοι̃ς ἔθνεσιν καὶ καταλειφθήσεσθε ὀλίγοι ἀριθμω̨̃ ἐν τοι̃ς ἔθνεσιν εἰς οὓς εἰσάξει κύριος ὑμα̃ς ἐκει̃ (Ⅲ)

- atque disperget in omnes gentes, et remanebitis pauci in nationibus, ad quas vos ducturus est Dominus. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 27 ׃4 והפיץ יהוה אתכם בעמים ונשארתם מתי מספר בגוים אשר ינהג יהוה אתכם שמה ‬ (Ⅴ)

4. 28

And there ye shall serve gods, the work of men's hands, wood and stone, which neither see, nor hear, nor eat, nor smell.

- Et là, vous servirez des dieux, ouvrage de mains d'homme, du bois et de la pierre, qui ne peuvent ni voir, ni entendre, ni manger, ni sentir. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ λατρεύσετε ἐκει̃ θεοι̃ς ἑτέροις ἔργοις χειρω̃ν ἀνθρώπων ξύλοις καὶ λίθοις οἳ οὐκ ὄψονται οὐδὲ μὴ ἀκούσωσιν οὔτε μὴ φάγωσιν οὔτε μὴ ὀσφρανθω̃σιν (Ⅲ)

- Ibique servietis diis, qui hominum manu fabricati sunt, ligno et lapidi qui non vident, nec audiunt, nec comedunt, nec odorantur. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 28 ׃4 ועבדתם שם אלהים מעשה ידי אדם עץ ואבן אשר לא יראון ולא ישמעון ולא יאכלון ולא יריחן ‬ (Ⅴ)

4. 29

But if from thence thou shalt seek the LORD thy God, thou shalt find him, if thou seek him with all thy heart and with all thy soul.

- C'est de là aussi que tu chercheras l'Éternel, ton Dieu, et que tu le trouveras, si tu le cherches de tout ton coeur et de toute ton âme. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ζητήσετε ἐκει̃ κύριον τὸν θεὸν ὑμω̃ν καὶ εὑρήσετε ὅταν ἐκζητήσητε αὐτὸν ἐξ ὅλης τη̃ς καρδίας σου καὶ ἐξ ὅλης τη̃ς ψυχη̃ς σου ἐν τη̨̃ θλίψει σου (Ⅲ)

- Cumque quæsieris ibi Dominum Deum tuum, invenies eum : si tamen toto corde quæsieris, et tota tribulatione animæ tuæ. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 29 ׃4 ובקשתם משם את יהוה אלהיך ומצאת כי תדרשנו בכל לבבך ובכל נפשך ‬ (Ⅴ)

4. 30

When thou art in tribulation, and all these things are come upon thee, even in the latter days, if thou turn to the LORD thy God, and shalt be obedient unto his voice;

- Au sein de ta détresse, toutes ces choses t'arriveront. Alors, dans la suite des temps, tu retourneras à l'Éternel, ton Dieu, et tu écouteras sa voix; (Ⅱ)

- καὶ εὑρήσουσίν σε πάντες οἱ λόγοι οὑ̃τοι ἐπ' ἐσχάτω̨ τω̃ν ἡμερω̃ν καὶ ἐπιστραφήση̨ πρὸς κύριον τὸν θεόν σου καὶ εἰσακούση̨ τη̃ς φωνη̃ς αὐτου̃ (Ⅲ)

- Postquam te invenerint omnia quæ prædicta sunt, novissimo tempore reverteris ad Dominum Deum tuum, et audies vocem ejus. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 30 ׃4 בצר לך ומצאוך כל הדברים האלה באחרית הימים ושבת עד יהוה אלהיך ושמעת בקלו ‬ (Ⅴ)

4. 31

(For the LORD thy God is a merciful God;) he will not forsake thee, neither destroy thee, nor forget the covenant of thy fathers which he sware unto them.

- car l'Éternel, ton Dieu, est un Dieu de miséricorde, qui ne t'abandonnera point et ne te détruira point: il n'oubliera pas l'alliance de tes pères, qu'il leur a jurée. (Ⅱ)

- ὅτι θεὸς οἰκτίρμων κύριος ὁ θεός σου οὐκ ἐγκαταλείψει σε οὐδὲ μὴ ἐκτρίψει σε οὐκ ἐπιλήσεται τὴν διαθήκην τω̃ν πατέρων σου ἣν ὤμοσεν αὐτοι̃ς (Ⅲ)

- Quia Deus misericors Dominus Deus tuus est : non dimittet te, nec omnino delebit, neque obliviscetur pacti, in quo juravit patribus tuis.\ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 31 ׃4 כי אל רחום יהוה אלהיך לא ירפך ולא ישחיתך ולא ישכח את ברית אבתיך אשר נשבע להם ‬ (Ⅴ)

4. 32

For ask now of the days that are past, which were before thee, since the day that God created man upon the earth, and ask from the one side of heaven unto the other, whether there hath been any such thing as this great thing is, or hath been heard like it?

- Interroge les temps anciens qui t'ont précédé, depuis le jour où Dieu créa l'homme sur la terre, et d'une extrémité du ciel à l'autre: y eut-il jamais si grand événement, et a-t-on jamais ouï chose semblable? (Ⅱ)

- ἐπερωτήσατε ἡμέρας προτέρας τὰς γενομένας προτέρας σου ἀπὸ τη̃ς ἡμέρας ἡ̃ς ἔκτισεν ὁ θεὸς ἄνθρωπον ἐπὶ τη̃ς γη̃ς καὶ ἐπὶ τὸ ἄκρον του̃ οὐρανου̃ ἕως ἄκρου του̃ οὐρανου̃ εἰ γέγονεν κατὰ τὸ ῥη̃μα τὸ μέγα του̃το εἰ ἤκουσται τοιου̃το (Ⅲ)

- Interroga de diebus antiquis, qui fuerunt ante te ex die quo creavit Deus hominem super terram, a summo cælo usque ad summum ejus, si facta est aliquando hujuscemodi res, aut umquam cognitum est, (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 32 ׃4 כי שאל נא לימים ראשנים אשר היו לפניך למן היום אשר ברא אלהים אדם על הארץ ולמקצה השמים ועד קצה השמים הנהיה כדבר הגדול הזה או הנשמע כמהו ‬ (Ⅴ)

4. 33

Did ever people hear the voice of God speaking out of the midst of the fire, as thou hast heard, and live?

- Fut-il jamais un peuple qui entendît la voix de Dieu parlant du milieu du feu, comme tu l'as entendue, et qui soit demeuré vivant? (Ⅱ)

- εἰ ἀκήκοεν ἔθνος φωνὴν θεου̃ ζω̃ντος λαλου̃ντος ἐκ μέσου του̃ πυρός ὃν τρόπον ἀκήκοας σὺ καὶ ἔζησας (Ⅲ)

- ut audiret populus vocem Dei loquentis de medio ignis, sicut tu audisti, et vixisti : (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 33 ׃4 השמע עם קול אלהים מדבר מתוך האש כאשר שמעת אתה ויחי ‬ (Ⅴ)

4. 34

Or hath God assayed to go and take him a nation from the midst of another nation, by temptations, by signs, and by wonders, and by war, and by a mighty hand, and by a stretched out arm, and by great terrors, according to all that the LORD your God did for you in Egypt before your eyes?

- Fut-il jamais un dieu qui essayât de venir prendre à lui une nation du milieu d'une nation, par des épreuves, des signes, des miracles et des combats, à main forte et à bras étendu, et avec des prodiges de terreur, comme l'a fait pour vous l'Éternel, votre Dieu, en Égypte et sous vos yeux? (Ⅱ)

- εἰ ἐπείρασεν ὁ θεὸς εἰσελθὼν λαβει̃ν ἑαυτω̨̃ ἔθνος ἐκ μέσου ἔθνους ἐν πειρασμω̨̃ καὶ ἐν σημείοις καὶ ἐν τέρασιν καὶ ἐν πολέμω̨ καὶ ἐν χειρὶ κραταια̨̃ καὶ ἐν βραχίονι ὑψηλω̨̃ καὶ ἐν ὁράμασιν μεγάλοις κατὰ πάντα ὅσα ἐποίησεν κύριος ὁ θεὸς ἡμω̃ν ἐν Αἰγύπτω̨ ἐνώπιόν σου βλέποντος (Ⅲ)

- si fecit Deus ut ingrederetur, et tolleret sibi gentem de medio nationum, per tentationes, signa atque portenta, per pugnam et robustam manum, extentumque brachium, et horribiles visiones juxta omnia quæ fecit pro vobis Dominus Deus vester in Ægypto, videntibus oculis tuis : (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 34 ׃4 או הנסה אלהים לבוא לקחת לו גוי מקרב גוי במסת באתת ובמופתים ובמלחמה וביד חזקה ובזרוע נטויה ובמוראים גדלים ככל אשר עשה לכם יהוה אלהיכם במצרים לעיניך ‬ (Ⅴ)

4. 35

Unto thee it was showed, that thou mightest know that the LORD he is God; there is none else beside him.

- Tu as été rendu témoin de ces choses, afin que tu reconnusses que l'Éternel est Dieu, qu'il n'y en a point d'autre. (Ⅱ)

- ὥστε εἰδη̃σαί σε ὅτι κύριος ὁ θεός σου οὑ̃τος θεός ἐστιν καὶ οὐκ ἔστιν ἔτι πλὴν αὐτου̃ (Ⅲ)

- ut scires quoniam Dominus ipse est Deus, et non est alius præter eum. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 35 ׃4 אתה הראת לדעת כי יהוה הוא האלהים אין עוד מלבדו‪[U]‬ ‬ (Ⅴ)

4. 36

Out of heaven he made thee to hear his voice, that he might instruct thee: and upon earth he showed thee his great fire; and thou heardest his words out of the midst of the fire.

- Du ciel, il t'a fait entendre sa voix pour t'instruire; et, sur la terre, il t'a fait voir son grand feu, et tu as entendu ses paroles du milieu du feu. (Ⅱ)

- ἐκ του̃ οὐρανου̃ ἀκουστὴ ἐγένετο ἡ φωνὴ αὐτου̃ παιδευ̃σαί σε καὶ ἐπὶ τη̃ς γη̃ς ἔδειξέν σοι τὸ πυ̃ρ αὐτου̃ τὸ μέγα καὶ τὰ ῥήματα αὐτου̃ ἤκουσας ἐκ μέσου του̃ πυρός (Ⅲ)

- De cælo te fecit audire vocem suam, ut doceret te, et in terra ostendit tibi ignem suum maximum, et audisti verba illius de medio ignis : (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 36 ׃4 מן השמים השמיעך את קלו ליסרך ועל הארץ הראך את אשו הגדולה ודבריו שמעת מתוך האש ‬ (Ⅴ)

4. 37

And because he loved thy fathers, therefore he chose their seed after them, and brought thee out in his sight with his mighty power out of Egypt;

- Il a aimé tes pères, et il a choisi leur postérité après eux; il t'a fait lui-même sortir d'Égypte par sa grande puissance; (Ⅱ)

- διὰ τὸ ἀγαπη̃σαι αὐτὸν τοὺς πατέρας σου καὶ ἐξελέξατο τὸ σπέρμα αὐτω̃ν μετ' αὐτοὺς ὑμα̃ς καὶ ἐξήγαγέν σε αὐτὸς ἐν τη̨̃ ἰσχύι αὐτου̃ τη̨̃ μεγάλη̨ ἐξ Αἰγύπτου (Ⅲ)

- quia dilexit patres tuos, et elegit semen eorum post eos. Eduxitque te præcedens in virtute sua magna ex Ægypto, (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 37 ׃4 ותחת כי אהב את אבתיך ויבחר בזרעו אחריו ויוצאך בפניו בכחו הגדל ממצרים ‬ (Ⅴ)

4. 38

To drive out nations from before thee greater and mightier than thou art, to bring thee in, to give thee their land for an inheritance, as it is this day.

- il a chassé devant toi des nations supérieures en nombre et en force, pour te faire entrer dans leur pays, pour t'en donner la possession, comme tu le vois aujourd'hui. (Ⅱ)

- ἐξολεθρευ̃σαι ἔθνη μεγάλα καὶ ἰσχυρότερά σου πρὸ προσώπου σου εἰσαγαγει̃ν σε δου̃ναί σοι τὴν γη̃ν αὐτω̃ν κληρονομει̃ν καθὼς ἔχεις σήμερον (Ⅲ)

- ut deleret nationes maximas et fortiores te in introitu tuo : et introduceret te, daretque tibi terram earum in possessionem, sicut cernis in præsenti die. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 38 ׃4 להוריש גוים גדלים ועצמים ממך מפניך להביאך לתת לך את ארצם נחלה כיום הזה ‬ (Ⅴ)

4. 39

Know therefore this day, and consider it in thine heart, that the LORD he is God in heaven above, and upon the earth beneath: there is none else.

- Sache donc en ce jour, et retiens dans ton coeur que l'Éternel est Dieu, en haut dans le ciel et en bas sur la terre, et qu'il n'y en a point d'autre. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ γνώση̨ σήμερον καὶ ἐπιστραφήση̨ τη̨̃ διανοία̨ ὅτι κύριος ὁ θεός σου οὑ̃τος θεὸς ἐν τω̨̃ οὐρανω̨̃ ἄνω καὶ ἐπὶ τη̃ς γη̃ς κάτω καὶ οὐκ ἔστιν ἔτι πλὴν αὐτου̃ (Ⅲ)

- Scito ergo hodie, et cogitato in corde tuo quod Dominus ipse sit Deus in cælo sursum, et in terra deorsum, et non sit alius. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 39 ׃4 וידעת היום והשבת אל לבבך כי יהוה הוא האלהים בשמים ממעל ועל הארץ מתחת אין עוד ‬ (Ⅴ)

4. 40

Thou shalt keep therefore his statutes, and his commandments, which I command thee this day, that it may go well with thee, and with thy children after thee, and that thou mayest prolong thy days upon the earth, which the LORD thy God giveth thee, for ever.

- Et observe ses lois et ses commandements que je te prescris aujourd'hui, afin que tu sois heureux, toi et tes enfants après toi, et que tu prolonges désormais tes jours dans le pays que l'Éternel, ton Dieu, te donne. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ φυλάξη̨ τὰ δικαιώματα αὐτου̃ καὶ τὰς ἐντολὰς αὐτου̃ ὅσας ἐγὼ ἐντέλλομαί σοι σήμερον ἵνα εὐ̃ σοι γένηται καὶ τοι̃ς υἱοι̃ς σου μετὰ σέ ὅπως μακροήμεροι γένησθε ἐπὶ τη̃ς γη̃ς ἡ̃ς κύριος ὁ θεός σου δίδωσίν σοι πάσας τὰς ἡμέρας (Ⅲ)

- Custodi præcepta ejus atque mandata, quæ ego præcipio tibi : ut bene sit tibi, et filiis tuis post te, et permaneas multo tempore super terram, quam Dominus Deus tuus daturus est tibi.\ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 40 ׃4 ושמרת את חקיו ואת מצותיו אשר אנכי מצוך היום אשר ייטב לך ולבניך אחריך ולמען תאריך ימים על האדמה‪[Q]‬‪[n]‬‪[v]‬ אשר יהוה אלהיך נתן לך כל הימים פ‬ (Ⅴ)

4. 41

Then Moses severed three cities on this side Jordan toward the sunrising;

- Alors Moïse choisit trois villes de l'autre côté du Jourdain, à l'orient, (Ⅱ)

- τότε ἀφώρισεν Μωυση̃ς τρει̃ς πόλεις πέραν του̃ Ιορδάνου ἀπὸ ἀνατολω̃ν ἡλίου (Ⅲ)

- Tunc separavit Moyses tres civitates trans Jordanem ad orientalem plagam, (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 41 ׃4 אז יבדיל משה שלש ערים בעבר הירדן מזרחה שמש ‬ (Ⅴ)

4. 42

That the slayer might flee thither, which should kill his neighbor unawares, and hated him not in times past; and that fleeing unto one of these cities he might live:

- afin qu'elles servissent de refuge au meurtrier qui aurait involontairement tué son prochain, sans avoir été auparavant son ennemi, et afin qu'il pût sauver sa vie en s'enfuyant dans l'une de ces villes. (Ⅱ)

- φυγει̃ν ἐκει̃ τὸν φονευτήν ὃς ἂν φονεύση̨ τὸν πλησίον οὐκ εἰδὼς καὶ οὑ̃τος οὐ μισω̃ν αὐτὸν πρὸ τη̃ς ἐχθὲς καὶ τρίτης καὶ καταφεύξεται εἰς μίαν τω̃ν πόλεων τούτων καὶ ζήσεται (Ⅲ)

- ut confugiat ad eas qui occiderit nolens proximum suum, nec sibi fuerit inimicus ante unum et alterum diem, et ad harum aliquam urbium possit evadere : (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 42 ׃4 לנס שמה רוצח אשר ירצח את רעהו בבלי דעת והוא לא שנא לו מתמול שלשום ונס אל אחת מן הערים האל וחי ‬ (Ⅴ)

4. 43

Namely, Bezer in the wilderness, in the plain country, of the Reubenites; and Ramoth in Gilead, of the Gadites; and Golan in Bashan, of the Manassites.

- C'étaient: Betser, dans le désert, dans la plaine, chez les Rubénites; Ramoth, en Galaad, chez les Gadites, et Golan, en Basan, chez les Manassites. (Ⅱ)

- τὴν Βοσορ ἐν τη̨̃ ἐρήμω̨ ἐν τη̨̃ γη̨̃ τη̨̃ πεδινη̨̃ τω̨̃ Ρουβην καὶ τὴν Ραμωθ ἐν Γαλααδ τω̨̃ Γαδδι καὶ τὴν Γαυλων ἐν Βασαν τω̨̃ Μανασση (Ⅲ)

- Bosor in solitudine, quæ sita est in terra campestri de tribu Ruben : et Ramoth in Galaad, quæ est in tribu Gad : et Golan in Basan, quæ est in tribu Manasse.\ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 43 ׃4 את בצר במדבר בארץ המישר לראובני‪[U]‬ ואת ראמת בגלעד לגדי ואת גולן בבשן למנשי ‬ (Ⅴ)

4. 44

And this is the law which Moses set before the children of Israel:

- C'est ici la loi que présenta Moïse aux enfants d'Israël. (Ⅱ)

- οὑ̃τος ὁ νόμος ὃν παρέθετο Μωυση̃ς ἐνώπιον υἱω̃ν Ισραηλ (Ⅲ)

- Ista est lex, quam proposuit Moyses coram filiis Israël : (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 44 ׃4 וזאת התורה אשר שם משה לפני בני ישראל ‬ (Ⅴ)

4. 45

These are the testimonies, and the statutes, and the judgments, which Moses spake unto the children of Israel, after they came forth out of Egypt.

- Voici les préceptes, les lois et les ordonnances que Moïse prescrivit aux enfants d'Israël, après leur sortie d'Égypte. (Ⅱ)

- ταυ̃τα τὰ μαρτύρια καὶ τὰ δικαιώματα καὶ τὰ κρίματα ὅσα ἐλάλησεν Μωυση̃ς τοι̃ς υἱοι̃ς Ισραηλ ἐν τη̨̃ ἐρήμω̨ ἐξελθόντων αὐτω̃ν ἐκ γη̃ς Αἰγύπτου (Ⅲ)

- et hæc testimonia et cæremoniæ atque judicia, quæ locutus est ad filios Israël, quando egressi sunt de Ægypto, (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 45 ׃4 אלה העדת והחקים והמשפטים אשר דבר משה אל בני ישראל בצאתם ממצרים ‬ (Ⅴ)

4. 46

On this side Jordan, in the valley over against Bethpeor, in the land of Sihon king of the Amorites, who dwelt at Heshbon, whom Moses and the children of Israel smote, after they were come forth out of Egypt:

- C'était de l'autre côté du Jourdain, dans la vallée, vis-à-vis de Beth Peor, au pays de Sihon, roi des Amoréens, qui habitait à Hesbon, et qui fut battu par Moïse et les enfants d'Israël, après leur sortie d'Égypte. (Ⅱ)

- ἐν τω̨̃ πέραν του̃ Ιορδάνου ἐν φάραγγι ἐγγὺς οἴκου Φογωρ ἐν γη̨̃ Σηων βασιλέως τω̃ν Αμορραίων ὃς κατώ̨κει ἐν Εσεβων οὓς ἐπάταξεν Μωυση̃ς καὶ οἱ υἱοὶ Ισραηλ ἐξελθόντων αὐτω̃ν ἐκ γη̃ς Αἰγύπτου (Ⅲ)

- trans Jordanem in valle contra fanum Phogor in terra Sehon regis Amorrhæi, qui habitavit in Hesebon, quem percussit Moyses. Filii quoque Israël egressi ex Ægypto (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 46 ׃4 בעבר הירדן בגיא מול בית פעור בארץ סיחן מלך האמרי אשר יושב בחשבון אשר הכה משה ובני ישראל בצאתם ממצרים ‬ (Ⅴ)

4. 47

And they possessed his land, and the land of Og king of Bashan, two kings of the Amorites, which were on this side Jordan toward the sunrising;

- Ils s'emparèrent de son pays et de celui d'Og, roi de Basan. Ces deux rois des Amoréens étaient de l'autre côté du Jourdain, à l'orient. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐκληρονόμησαν τὴν γη̃ν αὐτου̃ καὶ τὴν γη̃ν Ωγ βασιλέως τη̃ς Βασαν δύο βασιλέων τω̃ν Αμορραίων οἳ ἠ̃σαν πέραν του̃ Ιορδάνου κατ' ἀνατολὰς ἡλίου (Ⅲ)

- possederunt terram ejus, et terram Og regis Basan, duorum regum Amorrhæorum, qui erant trans Jordanem ad solis ortum : (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 47 ׃4 ויירשו את ארצו ואת ארץ עוג מלך הבשן שני מלכי האמרי אשר בעבר הירדן מזרח שמש ‬ (Ⅴ)

4. 48

From Aroer, which is by the bank of the river Arnon, even unto mount Sion, which is Hermon,

- Leur territoire s'étendait depuis Aroër sur les bords du torrent de l'Arnon jusqu'à la montagne de Sion qui est l'Hermon, (Ⅱ)

- ἀπὸ Αροηρ ἥ ἐστιν ἐπὶ του̃ χείλους χειμάρρου Αρνων καὶ ἐπὶ του̃ ὄρους του̃ Σηων ὅ ἐστιν Αερμων (Ⅲ)

- ab Aroër, quæ sita est super ripam torrentis Arnon, usque ad montem Sion, qui est et Hermon, (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 48 ׃4 מערער אשר על שפת נחל ארנן ועד הר שיאן הוא חרמון ‬ (Ⅴ)

4. 49

And all the plain on this side Jordan eastward, even unto the sea of the plain, under the springs of Pisgah.

- et il embrassait toute la plaine de l'autre côté du Jourdain, à l'orient, jusqu'à la mer de la plaine, au pied du Pisga. (Ⅱ)

- πα̃σαν τὴν Αραβα πέραν του̃ Ιορδάνου κατ' ἀνατολὰς ἡλίου ὑπὸ Ασηδωθ τὴν λαξευτήν (Ⅲ)

- omnem planitiem trans Jordanem ad orientalem plagam, usque ad mare solitudinis, et usque ad radices montis Phasga. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 49 ׃4 וכל הערבה עבר הירדן מזרחה ועד ים הערבה תחת אשדת הפסגה פ‬ (Ⅴ)
