Now it came to pass, when Adonizedec king of Jerusalem had heard how Joshua had taken Ai, and had utterly destroyed it; as he had done to Jericho and her king, so he had done to Ai and her king; and how the inhabitants of Gibeon had made peace with Israel, and were among them;
- Adoni Tsédek, roi de Jérusalem, apprit que Josué s'était emparé d'Aï et l'avait dévouée par interdit, qu'il avait traité Aï et son roi comme il avait traité Jéricho et son roi, et que les habitants de Gabaon avaient fait la paix avec Israël et étaient au milieu d'eux. (Ⅱ) - ὡς δὲ ἤκουσεν Αδωνιβεζεκ βασιλεὺς Ιερουσαλημ ὅτι ἔλαβεν 'Ιησου̃ς τὴν Γαι καὶ ἐξωλέθρευσεν αὐτήν ὃν τρόπον ἐποίησαν τὴν Ιεριχω καὶ τὸν βασιλέα αὐτη̃ς οὕτως ἐποίησαν τὴν Γαι καὶ τὸν βασιλέα αὐτη̃ς καὶ ὅτι αὐτομόλησαν οἱ κατοικου̃ντες Γαβαων πρὸς 'Ιησου̃ν καὶ πρὸς Ισραηλ (Ⅲ) - Quæ cum audisset Adonisedec rex Jerusalem, quod scilicet cepisset Josue Hai, et subvertisset eam (sicut enim fecerat Jericho et regi ejus, sic fecit Hai et regi illius), et quod transfugissent Gabaonitæ ad Israël, et essent fœderati eorum, (Ⅳ) - 1 ׃10 ויהי כשמע אדני צדק מלך ירושלם כי לכד יהושע את העי ויחרימה כאשר עשה ליריחו ולמלכה כן עשה לעי ולמלכה וכי השלימו ישבי גבעון את ישראל ויהיו בקרבם (Ⅴ)

That they feared greatly, because Gibeon was a great city, as one of the royal cities, and because it was greater than Ai, and all the men thereof were mighty.
- Il eut alors une forte crainte; car Gabaon était une grande ville, comme une des villes royales, plus grande même qu'Aï, et tous ses hommes étaient vaillants. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἐφοβήθησαν ἐν αὐτοι̃ς σφόδρα ἤ̨δει γὰρ ὅτι μεγάλη πόλις Γαβαων ὡσεὶ μία τω̃ν μητροπόλεων καὶ πάντες οἱ ἄνδρες αὐτη̃ς ἰσχυροί (Ⅲ) - timuit valde. Urbs enim magna erat Gabaon, et una civitatum regalium, et major oppido Hai, omnesque bellatores ejus fortissimi. (Ⅳ) - 2 ׃10 וייראו מאד כי עיר גדולה גבעון כאחת ערי הממלכה וכי היא גדולה מן העי וכל אנשיה גברים (Ⅴ)

Wherefore Adonizedec king of Jerusalem, sent unto Hoham king of Hebron, and unto Piram king of Jarmuth, and unto Japhia king of Lachish, and unto Debir king of Eglon, saying,
- Adoni Tsédek, roi de Jérusalem, fit dire à Hoham, roi d'Hébron, à Piream, roi de Jarmuth, à Japhia, roi de Lakis, et à Debir, roi d'Églon: (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἀπέστειλεν Αδωνιβεζεκ βασιλεὺς Ιερουσαλημ πρὸς Αιλαμ βασιλέα Χεβρων καὶ πρὸς Φιδων βασιλέα Ιεριμουθ καὶ πρὸς Ιεφθα βασιλέα Λαχις καὶ πρὸς Δαβιρ βασιλέα Οδολλαμ λέγων (Ⅲ) - Misit ergo Adonisedec rex Jerusalem ad Oham regem Hebron, et ad Pharam regem Jerimoth, ad Japhia quoque regem Lachis, et ad Dabir regem Eglon, dicens : (Ⅳ) - 3 ׃10 וישלח אדני צדק מלך ירושלם אל הוהם מלך חברון ואל פראם מלך ירמות ואל יפיע מלך לכיש ואל דביר מלך עגלון לאמר (Ⅴ)

Come up unto me, and help me, that we may smite Gibeon: for it hath made peace with Joshua and with the children of Israel.
- Montez vers moi, et aidez-moi, afin que nous frappions Gabaon, car elle a fait la paix avec Josué et avec les enfants d'Israël. (Ⅱ) - δευ̃τε ἀνάβητε πρός με καὶ βοηθήσατέ μοι καὶ ἐκπολεμήσωμεν Γαβαων αὐτομόλησαν γὰρ πρὸς 'Ιησου̃ν καὶ πρὸς τοὺς υἱοὺς Ισραηλ (Ⅲ) - Ad me ascendite, et ferte præsidium, ut expugnemus Gabaon, quare transfugerit ad Josue, et ad filios Israël. (Ⅳ) - 4 ׃10 עלו אלי ועזרני ונכה את גבעון כי השלימה את יהושע ואת בני ישראל (Ⅴ)

Therefore the five kings of the Amorites, the king of Jerusalem, the king of Hebron, the king of Jarmuth, the king of Lachish, the king of Eglon, gathered themselves together, and went up, they and all their hosts, and encamped before Gibeon, and made war against it.
- Cinq rois des Amoréens, le roi de Jérusalem, le roi d'Hébron, le roi de Jarmuth, le roi de Lakis, le roi d'Églon, se réunirent ainsi et montèrent avec toutes leurs armées; ils vinrent camper près de Gabaon, et l'attaquèrent. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἀνέβησαν οἱ πέντε βασιλει̃ς τω̃ν Ιεβουσαίων βασιλεὺς Ιερουσαλημ καὶ βασιλεὺς Χεβρων καὶ βασιλεὺς Ιεριμουθ καὶ βασιλεὺς Λαχις καὶ βασιλεὺς Οδολλαμ αὐτοὶ καὶ πα̃ς ὁ λαὸς αὐτω̃ν καὶ περιεκάθισαν τὴν Γαβαων καὶ ἐξεπολιόρκουν αὐτήν (Ⅲ) - Congregati igitur ascenderunt quinque reges Amorrhæorum : rex Jerusalem, rex Hebron, rex Jerimoth, rex Lachis, rex Eglon, simul cum exercitibus suis : et castrametati sunt circa Gabaon, oppugnantes eam.\ (Ⅳ) - 5 ׃10 ויאספו ויעלו חמשת מלכי האמרי מלך ירושלם מלך חברון מלך ירמות מלך לכיש מלך עגלון הם וכל מחניהם ויחנו על גבעון וילחמו עליה (Ⅴ)

And the men of Gibeon sent unto Joshua to the camp to Gilgal, saying, Slack not thy hand from thy servants; come up to us quickly, and save us, and help us: for all the kings of the Amorites that dwell in the mountains are gathered together against us.
- Les gens de Gabaon envoyèrent dire à Josué, au camp de Guilgal: N'abandonne pas tes serviteurs, monte vers nous en hâte, délivre-nous, donne-nous du secours; car tous les rois des Amoréens, qui habitent la montagne, se sont réunis contre nous. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἀπέστειλαν οἱ κατοικου̃ντες Γαβαων πρὸς 'Ιησου̃ν εἰς τὴν παρεμβολὴν Ισραηλ εἰς Γαλγαλα λέγοντες μὴ ἐκλύση̨ς τὰς χει̃ράς σου ἀπὸ τω̃ν παίδων σου ἀνάβηθι πρὸς ἡμα̃ς τὸ τάχος καὶ ἐξελου̃ ἡμα̃ς καὶ βοήθησον ἡμι̃ν ὅτι συνηγμένοι εἰσὶν ἐφ' ἡμα̃ς πάντες οἱ βασιλει̃ς τω̃ν Αμορραίων οἱ κατοικου̃ντες τὴν ὀρεινήν (Ⅲ) - Habitatores autem Gabaon urbis obsessæ miserunt ad Josue, qui tunc morabatur in castris apud Galgalam, et dixerunt ei : Ne retrahas manus tuas ab auxilio servorum tuorum : ascende cito, et libera nos, ferque præsidium : convenerunt enim adversum nos omnes reges Amorrhæorum, qui habitant in montanis. (Ⅳ) - 6 ׃10 וישלחו אנשי גבעון אל יהושע אל המחנה הגלגלה לאמר אל תרף ידיך מעבדיך עלה אלינו מהרה והושיעה לנו ועזרנו כי נקבצו אלינו כל מלכי האמרי ישבי ההר (Ⅴ)

So Joshua ascended from Gilgal, he, and all the people of war with him, and all the mighty men of valor.
- Josué monta de Guilgal, lui et tous les gens de guerre avec lui, et tous les vaillants hommes. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἀνέβη 'Ιησου̃ς ἐκ Γαλγαλων αὐτὸς καὶ πα̃ς ὁ λαὸς ὁ πολεμιστὴς μετ' αὐτου̃ πα̃ς δυνατὸς ἐν ἰσχύι (Ⅲ) - Ascenditque Josue de Galgalis, et omnis exercitus bellatorum cum eo, viri fortissimi. (Ⅳ) - 7 ׃10 ויעל יהושע מן הגלגל הוא וכל עם המלחמה עמו וכל גבורי החיל פ (Ⅴ)

And the LORD said unto Joshua, Fear them not: for I have delivered them into thine hand; there shall not a man of them stand before thee.
- L'Éternel dit à Josué: Ne les crains point, car je les livre entre tes mains, et aucun d'eux ne tiendra devant toi. (Ⅱ) - καὶ εἰ̃πεν κύριος πρὸς 'Ιησου̃ν μὴ φοβηθη̨̃ς αὐτούς εἰς γὰρ τὰς χει̃ράς σου παραδέδωκα αὐτούς οὐχ ὑπολειφθήσεται ἐξ αὐτω̃ν οὐθεὶς ἐνώπιον ὑμω̃ν (Ⅲ) - Dixitque Dominus ad Josue : Ne timeas eos : in manus enim tuas tradidi illos : nullus ex eis tibi resistere poterit. (Ⅳ) - 8 ׃10 ויאמר יהוה אל יהושע אל תירא מהם כי בידך נתתים לא יעמד איש מהם בפניך (Ⅴ)

Joshua therefore came unto them suddenly, and went up from Gilgal all night.
- Josué arriva subitement sur eux, après avoir marché toute la nuit depuis Guilgal. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἐπιπαρεγένετο ἐπ' αὐτοὺς 'Ιησου̃ς ἄφνω ὅλην τὴν νύκτα εἰσεπορεύθη ἐκ Γαλγαλων (Ⅲ) - Irruit itaque Josue super eos repente, tota nocte ascendens de Galgalis. (Ⅳ) - 9 ׃10 ויבא אליהם יהושע פתאם כל הלילה עלה מן הגלגל (Ⅴ)

And the LORD discomfited them before Israel, and slew them with a great slaughter at Gibeon, and chased them along the way that goeth up to Bethhoron, and smote them to Azekah, and unto Makkedah.
- L'Éternel les mit en déroute devant Israël; et Israël leur fit éprouver une grande défaite près de Gabaon, les poursuivit sur le chemin qui monte à Beth Horon, et les battit jusqu'à Azéka et à Makkéda. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἐξέστησεν αὐτοὺς κύριος ἀπὸ προσώπου τω̃ν υἱω̃ν Ισραηλ καὶ συνέτριψεν αὐτοὺς κύριος σύντριψιν μεγάλην ἐν Γαβαων καὶ κατεδίωξαν αὐτοὺς ὁδὸν ἀναβάσεως Ωρωνιν καὶ κατέκοπτον αὐτοὺς ἕως Αζηκα καὶ ἕως Μακηδα (Ⅲ) - Et conturbavit eos Dominus a facie Israël : contrivitque plaga magna in Gabaon, ac persecutus est eos per viam ascensus Bethoron, et percussit usque Azeca et Maceda. (Ⅳ) - 10 ׃10 ויהמם יהוה לפני ישראל ויכם מכה גדולה בגבעון וירדפם דרך מעלה בית חורן ויכם עד עזקה ועד מקדה (Ⅴ)

And it came to pass, as they fled from before Israel, and were in the going down to Bethhoron, that the LORD cast down great stones from heaven upon them unto Azekah, and they died: they were more which died with hailstones than they whom the children of Israel slew with the sword.
- Comme ils fuyaient devant Israël, et qu'ils étaient à la descente de Beth Horon, l'Éternel fit tomber du ciel sur eux de grosses pierres jusqu'à Azéka, et ils périrent; ceux qui moururent par les pierres de grêle furent plus nombreux que ceux qui furent tués avec l'épée par les enfants d'Israël. (Ⅱ) - ἐν τω̨̃ δὲ φεύγειν αὐτοὺς ἀπὸ προσώπου τω̃ν υἱω̃ν Ισραηλ ἐπὶ τη̃ς καταβάσεως Ωρωνιν καὶ κύριος ἐπέρριψεν αὐτοι̃ς λίθους χαλάζης ἐκ του̃ οὐρανου̃ ἕως Αζηκα καὶ ἐγένοντο πλείους οἱ ἀποθανόντες διὰ τοὺς λίθους τη̃ς χαλάζης ἢ οὓς ἀπέκτειναν οἱ υἱοὶ Ισραηλ μαχαίρα̨ ἐν τω̨̃ πολέμω̨ (Ⅲ) - Cumque fugerent filios Israël, et essent in descensu Bethoron, Dominus misit super eos lapides magnos de cælo usque ad Azeca : et mortui sunt multo plures lapidibus grandinis, quam quos gladio percusserant filii Israël. (Ⅳ) - 11 ׃10 ויהי בנסם מפני ישראל הם במורד בית חורן ויהוה השליך עליהם אבנים גדלות מן השמים עד עזקה וימתו רבים אשר מתו באבני הברד מאשר הרגו בני ישראל בחרב ס (Ⅴ)

Then spake Joshua to the LORD in the day when the LORD delivered up the Amorites before the children of Israel, and he said in the sight of Israel, Sun, stand thou still upon Gibeon; and thou, Moon, in the valley of Ajalon.
- Alors Josué parla à l'Éternel, le jour où l'Éternel livra les Amoréens aux enfants d'Israël, et il dit en présence d'Israël: Soleil, arrête-toi sur Gabaon, Et toi, lune, sur la vallée d'Ajalon! (Ⅱ) - τότε ἐλάλησεν 'Ιησου̃ς πρὸς κύριον ἡ̨̃ ἡμέρα̨ παρέδωκεν ὁ θεὸς τὸν Αμορραι̃ον ὑποχείριον Ισραηλ ἡνίκα συνέτριψεν αὐτοὺς ἐν Γαβαων καὶ συνετρίβησαν ἀπὸ προσώπου υἱω̃ν Ισραηλ καὶ εἰ̃πεν 'Ιησου̃ς στήτω ὁ ἥλιος κατὰ Γαβαων καὶ ἡ σελήνη κατὰ φάραγγα Αιλων (Ⅲ) - Tunc locutus est Josue Domino, in die qua tradidit Amorrhæum in conspectu filiorum Israël, dixitque coram eis : [Sol, contra Gabaon ne movearis,/ et luna contra vallem Ajalon./ (Ⅳ) - 12 ׃10 אז ידבר יהושע ליהוה ביום תת יהוה את האמרי לפני בני ישראל ויאמר לעיני ישראל שמש בגבעון דום וירח בעמק אילון (Ⅴ)

And the sun stood still, and the moon stayed, until the people had avenged themselves upon their enemies. Is not this written in the book of Jasher? So the sun stood still in the midst of heaven, and hasted not to go down about a whole day.
- Et le soleil s'arrêta, et la lune suspendit sa course, Jusqu'à ce que la nation eût tiré vengeance de ses ennemis. Cela n'est-il pas écrit dans le livre du Juste? Le soleil s'arrêta au milieu du ciel, Et ne se hâta point de se coucher, presque tout un jour. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἔστη ὁ ἥλιος καὶ ἡ σελήνη ἐν στάσει ἕως ἠμύνατο ὁ θεὸς τοὺς ἐχθροὺς αὐτω̃ν καὶ ἔστη ὁ ἥλιος κατὰ μέσον του̃ οὐρανου̃ οὐ προεπορεύετο εἰς δυσμὰς εἰς τέλος ἡμέρας μια̃ς (Ⅲ) - Steteruntque sol et luna,/ donec ulcisceretur se gens de inimicis suis.] Nonne scriptum est hoc in libro justorum ? Stetit itaque sol in medio cæli, et non festinavit occumbere spatio unius diei. (Ⅳ) - 13 ׃10 וידם השמש וירח עמד עד יקם גוי איביו הלא היא כתובה על ספר הישר ויעמד השמש בחצי השמים ולא אץ לבוא כיום תמים (Ⅴ)

And there was no day like that before it or after it, that the LORD hearkened unto the voice of a man: for the LORD fought for Israel.
- Il n'y a point eu de jour comme celui-là, ni avant ni après, où l'Éternel ait écouté la voix d'un homme; car l'Éternel combattait pour Israël. (Ⅱ) - καὶ οὐκ ἐγένετο ἡμέρα τοιαύτη οὐδὲ τὸ πρότερον οὐδὲ τὸ ἔσχατον ὥστε ἐπακου̃σαι θεὸν ἀνθρώπου ὅτι κύριος συνεπολέμησεν τω̨̃ Ισραηλ (Ⅲ) - Non fuit antea nec postea tam longa dies, obediente Domino voci hominis, et pugnante pro Israël. (Ⅳ) - 14 ׃10 ולא היה כיום ההוא לפניו ואחריו לשמע יהוה בקול איש כי יהוה נלחם לישראל פ (Ⅴ)

And Joshua returned, and all Israel with him, unto the camp to Gilgal.
- Et Josué, et tout Israël avec lui, retourna au camp à Guilgal. (Ⅱ) - Reversusque est Josue cum omni Israël in castra Galgalæ.\ (Ⅳ) - 15 ׃10 וישב יהושע וכל ישראל עמו אל המחנה הגלגלה (Ⅴ)

But these five kings fled, and hid themselves in a cave at Makkedah.
- Les cinq rois s'enfuirent, et se cachèrent dans une caverne à Makkéda. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἔφυγον οἱ πέντε βασιλει̃ς οὑ̃τοι καὶ κατεκρύβησαν εἰς τὸ σπήλαιον τὸ ἐν Μακηδα (Ⅲ) - Fugerant enim quinque reges et se absconderant in spelunca urbis Maceda. (Ⅳ) - 16 ׃10 וינסו חמשת המלכים האלה ויחבאו במערה במקדה (Ⅴ)

And it was told Joshua, saying, The five kings are found hid in a cave at Makkedah.
- On le rapporta à Josué, en disant: Les cinq rois se trouvent cachés dans une caverne à Makkéda. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἀπηγγέλη τω̨̃ 'Ιησου̃ λέγοντες εὕρηνται οἱ πέντε βασιλει̃ς κεκρυμμένοι ἐν τω̨̃ σπηλαίω̨ τω̨̃ ἐν Μακηδα (Ⅲ) - Nuntiatumque est Josue quod inventi essent quinque reges latentes in spelunca urbis Maceda. (Ⅳ) - 17 ׃10 ויגד ליהושע לאמר נמצאו חמשת המלכים נחבאים במערה במקדה (Ⅴ)

And Joshua said, Roll great stones upon the mouth of the cave, and set men by it for to keep them:
- Josué dit: Roulez de grosses pierres à l'entrée de la caverne, et mettez-y des hommes pour les garder. (Ⅱ) - καὶ εἰ̃πεν 'Ιησου̃ς κυλίσατε λίθους ἐπὶ τὸ στόμα του̃ σπηλαίου καὶ καταστήσατε ἄνδρας φυλάσσειν ἐπ' αὐτούς (Ⅲ) - Qui præcepit sociis, et ait : Volvite saxa ingentia ad os speluncæ, et ponite viros industrios, qui clausos custodiant : (Ⅳ) - 18 ׃10 ויאמר יהושע גלו אבנים גדלות אל פי המערה והפקידו עליה אנשים לשמרם (Ⅴ)

And stay ye not, but pursue after your enemies, and smite the hindmost of them; suffer them not to enter into their cities: for the LORD your God hath delivered them into your hand.
- Et vous, ne vous arrêtez pas, poursuivez vos ennemis, et attaquez-les par derrière; ne les laissez pas entrer dans leurs villes, car l'Éternel, votre Dieu, les a livrés entre vos mains. (Ⅱ) - ὑμει̃ς δὲ μὴ ἑστήκατε καταδιώκοντες ὀπίσω τω̃ν ἐχθρω̃ν ὑμω̃ν καὶ καταλάβετε τὴν οὐραγίαν αὐτω̃ν καὶ μὴ ἀφη̃τε εἰσελθει̃ν εἰς τὰς πόλεις αὐτω̃ν παρέδωκεν γὰρ αὐτοὺς κύριος ὁ θεὸς ἡμω̃ν εἰς τὰς χει̃ρας ἡμω̃ν (Ⅲ) - vos autem nolite stare, sed persequimini hostes, et extremos quosque fugientium cædite : nec dimittatis eos urbium suarum intrare præsidia, quos tradidit Dominus Deus in manus vestras. (Ⅳ) - 19 ׃10 ואתם אל תעמדו רדפו אחרי איביכם וזנבתם אותם אל תתנום לבוא אל עריהם כי נתנם יהוה אלהיכם בידכם (Ⅴ)

And it came to pass, when Joshua and the children of Israel had made an end of slaying them with a very great slaughter, till they were consumed, that the rest which remained of them entered into fenced cities.
- Après que Josué et les enfants d'Israël leur eurent fait éprouver une très grande défaite, et les eurent complètement battus, ceux qui purent échapper se sauvèrent dans les villes fortifiées, (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἐγένετο ὡς κατέπαυσεν 'Ιησου̃ς καὶ πα̃ς υἱὸς Ισραηλ κόπτοντες αὐτοὺς κοπὴν μεγάλην σφόδρα ἕως εἰς τέλος καὶ οἱ διασω̨ζόμενοι διεσώθησαν εἰς τὰς πόλεις τὰς ὀχυράς (Ⅲ) - Cæsis ergo adversariis plaga magna, et usque ad internecionem pene consumptis, hi qui Israël effugere potuerunt, ingressi sunt civitates munitas. (Ⅳ) - 20 ׃10 ויהי ככלות יהושע ובני ישראל להכותם מכה גדולה מאד עד תמם והשרידים שרדו מהם ויבאו אל ערי המבצר (Ⅴ)

And all the people returned to the camp to Joshua at Makkedah in peace: none moved his tongue against any of the children of Israel.
- et tout le peuple revint tranquillement au camp vers Josué à Makkéda, sans que personne remuât sa langue contre les enfants d'Israël. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἀπεστράφη πα̃ς ὁ λαὸς πρὸς 'Ιησου̃ν εἰς Μακηδα ὑγιει̃ς καὶ οὐκ ἔγρυξεν οὐθεὶς τω̃ν υἱω̃ν Ισραηλ τη̨̃ γλώσση̨ αὐτου̃ (Ⅲ) - Reversusque est omnis exercitus ad Josue in Maceda, ubi tunc erant castra, sani et integro numero : nullusque contra filios Israël mutire ausus est. (Ⅳ) - 21 ׃10 וישבו כל העם אל המחנה אל יהושע מקדה בשלום לא חרץ לבני ישראל לאיש את לשנו (Ⅴ)

Then said Joshua, Open the mouth of the cave, and bring out those five kings unto me out of the cave.
- Josué dit alors: Ouvrez l'entrée de la caverne, faites-en sortir ces cinq rois, et amenez-les-moi. And they did so, and brought forth those five kings unto him out of the cave, the king of Jerusalem, the king of Hebron, the king of Jarmuth, the king of Lachish, and the king of Eglon.
- Ils firent ainsi, et lui amenèrent les cinq rois qu'ils avaient fait sortir de la caverne, le roi de Jérusalem, le roi d'Hébron, le roi de Jarmuth, le roi de Lakis, le roi d'Églon. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἐξηγάγοσαν τοὺς πέντε βασιλει̃ς ἐκ του̃ σπηλαίου τὸν βασιλέα Ιερουσαλημ καὶ τὸν βασιλέα Χεβρων καὶ τὸν βασιλέα Ιεριμουθ καὶ τὸν βασιλέα Λαχις καὶ τὸν βασιλέα Οδολλαμ (Ⅲ) - Feceruntque ministri ut sibi fuerat imperatum : et eduxerunt ad eum quinque reges de spelunca, regem Jerusalem, regem Hebron, regem Jerimoth, regem Lachis, regem Eglon. And it came to pass, when they brought out those kings unto Joshua, that Joshua called for all the men of Israel, and said unto the captains of the men of war which went with him, Come near, put your feet upon the necks of these kings. And they came near, and put their feet upon the necks of them.
- Lorsqu'ils eurent amené ces rois devant Josué, Josué appela tous les hommes d'Israël, et dit aux chefs des gens de guerre qui avaient marché avec lui: Approchez-vous, mettez vos pieds sur les cous de ces rois. Ils s'approchèrent, et ils mirent les pieds sur leurs cous. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἐπεὶ ἐξήγαγον αὐτοὺς πρὸς 'Ιησου̃ν καὶ συνεκάλεσεν 'Ιησου̃ς πάντα Ισραηλ καὶ τοὺς ἐναρχομένους του̃ πολέμου τοὺς συμπορευομένους αὐτω̨̃ λέγων αὐτοι̃ς προπορεύεσθε καὶ ἐπίθετε τοὺς πόδας ὑμω̃ν ἐπὶ τοὺς τραχήλους αὐτω̃ν καὶ προσελθόντες ἐπέθηκαν τοὺς πόδας αὐτω̃ν ἐπὶ τοὺς τραχήλους αὐτω̃ν (Ⅲ) - Cumque educti essent ad eum, vocavit omnes viros Israël, et ait ad principes exercitus qui secum erant : Ite, et ponite pedes super colla regum istorum. Qui cum perrexissent, et subjectorum colla pedibus calcarent, (Ⅳ) - 24 ׃10 ויהי כהוציאם את המלכים האלה אל יהושע ויקרא יהושע אל כל איש ישראל ויאמר אל קציני אנשי המלחמה ההלכוא אתו קרבו שימו את רגליכם על צוארי המלכים האלה ויקרבו וישימו את רגליהם על צואריהם (Ⅴ)

And Joshua said unto them, Fear not, nor be dismayed, be strong and of good courage: for thus shall the LORD do to all your enemies against whom ye fight.
- Josué leur dit: Ne craignez point et ne vous effrayez point, fortifiez-vous et ayez du courage, car c'est ainsi que l'Éternel traitera tous vos ennemis contre lesquels vous combattez. (Ⅱ) - καὶ εἰ̃πεν πρὸς αὐτοὺς 'Ιησου̃ς μὴ φοβηθη̃τε αὐτοὺς μηδὲ δειλιάσητε ἀνδρίζεσθε καὶ ἰσχύετε ὅτι οὕτως ποιήσει κύριος πα̃σι τοι̃ς ἐχθροι̃ς ὑμω̃ν οὓς ὑμει̃ς καταπολεμει̃τε αὐτούς (Ⅲ) - rursum ait ad eos : Nolite timere, nec paveatis : confortamini, et estote robusti : sic enim faciet Dominus cunctis hostibus vestris, adversum quos dimicatis. (Ⅳ) - 25 ׃10 ויאמר אליהם יהושע אל תיראו ואל תחתו חזקו ואמצו כי ככה יעשה יהוה לכל איביכם אשר אתם נלחמים אותם (Ⅴ)

And afterward Joshua smote them, and slew them, and hanged them on five trees: and they were hanging upon the trees until the evening.
- Après cela, Josué les frappa et les fit mourir; il les pendit à cinq arbres, et ils restèrent pendus aux arbres jusqu'au soir. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἀπέκτεινεν αὐτοὺς 'Ιησου̃ς καὶ ἐκρέμασεν αὐτοὺς ἐπὶ πέντε ξύλων καὶ ἠ̃σαν κρεμάμενοι ἐπὶ τω̃ν ξύλων ἕως ἑσπέρας (Ⅲ) - Percussitque Josue, et interfecit eos, atque suspendit super quinque stipites : fueruntque suspensi usque ad vesperum. (Ⅳ) - 26 ׃10 ויכם יהושע אחרי כן וימיתם ויתלם על חמשה עצים ויהיו תלוים על העצים עד הערב (Ⅴ)

And it came to pass at the time of the going down of the sun, that Joshua commanded, and they took them down off the trees, and cast them into the cave wherein they had been hid, and laid great stones in the cave's mouth, which remain until this very day.
- Vers le coucher du soleil, Josué ordonna qu'on les descendît des arbres, on les jeta dans la caverne où ils s'étaient cachés, et l'on mit à l'entrée de la caverne de grosses pierres, qui y sont demeurées jusqu'à ce jour. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἐγενήθη πρὸς ἡλίου δυσμὰς ἐνετείλατο 'Ιησου̃ς καὶ καθει̃λον αὐτοὺς ἀπὸ τω̃ν ξύλων καὶ ἔρριψαν αὐτοὺς εἰς τὸ σπήλαιον εἰς ὃ κατεφύγοσαν ἐκει̃ καὶ ἐπεκύλισαν λίθους ἐπὶ τὸ σπήλαιον ἕως τη̃ς σήμερον ἡμέρας (Ⅲ) - Cumque occumberet sol, præcepit sociis ut deponerent eos de patibulis. Qui depositos projecerunt in speluncam in qua latuerant, et posuerunt super os ejus saxa ingentia, quæ permanent usque in præsens.\ (Ⅳ) - 27 ׃10 ויהי לעת בוא השמש צוה יהושע וירידום מעל העצים וישלכם אל המערה אשר נחבאו שם וישמו אבנים גדלות על פי המערה עד עצם היום הזה פ (Ⅴ)

And that day Joshua took Makkedah, and smote it with the edge of the sword, and the king thereof he utterly destroyed, them, and all the souls that were therein; he let none remain: and he did to the king of Makkedah as he did unto the king of Jericho.
- Josué prit Makkéda le même jour, et la frappa du tranchant de l'épée; il dévoua par interdit le roi, la ville et tous ceux qui s'y trouvaient; il n'en laissa échapper aucun, et il traita le roi de Makkéda comme il avait traité le roi de Jéricho. (Ⅱ) - καὶ τὴν Μακηδα ἐλάβοσαν ἐν τη̨̃ ἡμέρα̨ ἐκείνη̨ καὶ ἐφόνευσαν αὐτὴν ἐν στόματι ξίφους καὶ ἐξωλέθρευσαν πα̃ν ἐμπνέον ἐν αὐτη̨̃ καὶ οὐ κατελείφθη ἐν αὐτη̨̃ οὐδεὶς διασεσω̨σμένος καὶ διαπεφευγώς καὶ ἐποίησαν τω̨̃ βασιλει̃ Μακηδα ὃν τρόπον ἐποίησαν τω̨̃ βασιλει̃ Ιεριχω (Ⅲ) - Eodem quoque die, Macedam cepit Josue, et percussit eam in ore gladii, regemque illius interfecit, et omnes habitatores ejus : non dimisit in ea saltem parvas reliquias. Fecitque regi Maceda sicut fecerat regi Jericho. (Ⅳ) - 28 ׃10 ואת מקדה לכד יהושע ביום ההוא ויכה לפי חרב ואת מלכה החרם אותם ואת כל הנפש אשר בה לא השאיר שריד ויעש למלך מקדה כאשר עשה למלך יריחו (Ⅴ)

Then Joshua passed from Makkedah, and all Israel with him, unto Libnah, and fought against Libnah:
- Josué, et tout Israël avec lui, passa de Makkéda à Libna, et il attaqua Libna. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἀπη̃λθεν 'Ιησου̃ς καὶ πα̃ς Ισραηλ μετ' αὐτου̃ ἐκ Μακηδα εἰς Λεβνα καὶ ἐπολιόρκει Λεβνα (Ⅲ) - Transivit autem cum omni Israël de Maceda in Lebna, et pugnabat contra eam : (Ⅳ) - 29 ׃10 ויעבר יהושע וכל ישראל עמו ממקדה לבנה וילחם עם לבנה (Ⅴ)

And the LORD delivered it also, and the king thereof, into the hand of Israel; and he smote it with the edge of the sword, and all the souls that were therein; he let none remain in it; but did unto the king thereof as he did unto the king of Jericho.
- L'Éternel la livra aussi, avec son roi, entre les mains d'Israël, et la frappa du tranchant de l'épée, elle et tous ceux qui s'y trouvaient; il n'en laissa échapper aucun, et il traita son roi comme il avait traité le roi de Jéricho. (Ⅱ) - καὶ παρέδωκεν αὐτὴν κύριος εἰς χει̃ρας Ισραηλ καὶ ἔλαβον αὐτὴν καὶ τὸν βασιλέα αὐτη̃ς καὶ ἐφόνευσαν αὐτὴν ἐν στόματι ξίφους καὶ πα̃ν ἐμπνέον ἐν αὐτη̨̃ καὶ οὐ κατελείφθη ἐν αὐτη̨̃ οὐδὲ εἱ̃ς διασεσω̨σμένος καὶ διαπεφευγώς καὶ ἐποίησαν τω̨̃ βασιλει̃ αὐτη̃ς ὃν τρόπον ἐποίησαν τω̨̃ βασιλει̃ Ιεριχω (Ⅲ) - quam tradidit Dominus cum rege suo in manus Israël : percusseruntque urbem in ore gladii, et omnes habitatores ejus : non dimiserunt in ea ullas reliquias. And Joshua passed from Libnah, and all Israel with him, unto Lachish, and encamped against it, and fought against it:
- Josué, et tout Israël avec lui, passa de Libna à Lakis; il campa devant elle, et il l'attaqua. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἀπη̃λθεν 'Ιησου̃ς καὶ πα̃ς Ισραηλ μετ' αὐτου̃ ἐκ Λεβνα εἰς Λαχις καὶ περιεκάθισεν αὐτὴν καὶ ἐπολιόρκει αὐτήν (Ⅲ) - De Lebna transivit in Lachis cum omni Israël : et exercitu per gyrum disposito, oppugnabat eam. (Ⅳ) - 31 ׃10 ויעבר יהושע וכל ישראל עמו מלבנה לכישה ויחן עליה וילחם בה (Ⅴ)

And the LORD delivered Lachish into the hand of Israel, which took it on the second day, and smote it with the edge of the sword, and all the souls that were therein, according to all that he had done to Libnah.
- L'Éternel livra Lakis entre les mains d'Israël, qui la prit le second jour, et la frappa du tranchant de l'épée, elle et tous ceux qui s'y trouvaient, comme il avait traité Libna. (Ⅱ) - καὶ παρέδωκεν κύριος τὴν Λαχις εἰς τὰς χει̃ρας Ισραηλ καὶ ἔλαβεν αὐτὴν ἐν τη̨̃ ἡμέρα̨ τη̨̃ δευτέρα̨ καὶ ἐφόνευσαν αὐτὴν ἐν στόματι ξίφους καὶ ἐξωλέθρευσαν αὐτήν ὃν τρόπον ἐποίησαν τὴν Λεβνα (Ⅲ) - Tradiditque Dominus Lachis in manus Israël, et cepit eam die altero, atque percussit in ore gladii, omnemque animam quæ fuerat in ea, sicut fecerat Lebna. (Ⅳ) - 32 ׃10 ויתן יהוה את לכיש ביד ישראל וילכדה ביום השני ויכה לפי חרב ואת כל הנפש אשר בה ככל אשר עשה ללבנה פ (Ⅴ)

Then Horam king of Gezer came up to help Lachish; and Joshua smote him and his people, until he had left him none remaining.
- Alors Horam, roi de Guézer, monta pour secourir Lakis. Josué le battit, lui et son peuple, sans laisser échapper personne. (Ⅱ) - τότε ἀνέβη Αιλαμ βασιλεὺς Γαζερ βοηθήσων τη̨̃ Λαχις καὶ ἐπάταξεν αὐτὸν 'Ιησου̃ς ἐν στόματι ξίφους καὶ τὸν λαὸν αὐτου̃ ἕως του̃ μὴ καταλειφθη̃ναι αὐτω̃ν σεσω̨σμένον καὶ διαπεφευγότα (Ⅲ) - Eo tempore ascendit Horam rex Gazer, ut auxiliaretur Lachis : quem percussit Josue cum omni populo ejus usque ad internecionem. (Ⅳ) - 33 ׃10 אז עלה הרם מלך גזר לעזר את לכיש ויכהו יהושע ואת עמו עד בלתי השאיר לו שריד (Ⅴ)

And from Lachish Joshua passed unto Eglon, and all Israel with him; and they encamped against it, and fought against it:
- Josué, et tout Israël avec lui, passa de Lakis à Églon; ils campèrent devant elle, et ils l'attaquèrent. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἀπη̃λθεν 'Ιησου̃ς καὶ πα̃ς Ισραηλ μετ' αὐτου̃ ἐκ Λαχις εἰς Οδολλαμ καὶ περιεκάθισεν αὐτὴν καὶ ἐπολιόρκησεν αὐτήν (Ⅲ) - Transivitque de Lachis in Eglon, et circumdedit, (Ⅳ) - 34 ׃10 ויעבר יהושע וכל ישראל עמו מלכיש עגלנה ויחנו עליה וילחמו עליה (Ⅴ)

And they took it on that day, and smote it with the edge of the sword, and all the souls that were therein he utterly destroyed that day, according to all that he had done to Lachish.
- Ils la prirent le même jour, et la frappèrent du tranchant de l'épée, elle et tous ceux qui s'y trouvaient; Josué la dévoua par interdit le jour même, comme il avait traité Lakis. (Ⅱ) - καὶ παρέδωκεν αὐτὴν κύριος ἐν χειρὶ Ισραηλ καὶ ἔλαβεν αὐτὴν ἐν τη̨̃ ἡμέρα̨ ἐκείνη̨ καὶ ἐφόνευσεν αὐτὴν ἐν στόματι ξίφους καὶ πα̃ν ἐμπνέον ἐν αὐτη̨̃ ἐφόνευσαν ὃν τρόπον ἐποίησαν τη̨̃ Λαχις (Ⅲ) - atque expugnavit eam eadem die : percussitque in ore gladii omnes animas quæ erant in ea, juxta omnia quæ fecerat Lachis. And Joshua went up from Eglon, and all Israel with him, unto Hebron; and they fought against it:
- Josué, et tout Israël avec lui, monta d'Églon à Hébron, et ils l'attaquèrent. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἀπη̃λθεν 'Ιησου̃ς καὶ πα̃ς Ισραηλ μετ' αὐτου̃ εἰς Χεβρων καὶ περιεκάθισεν αὐτήν (Ⅲ) - Ascendit quoque cum omni Israël de Eglon in Hebron, et pugnavit contra eam : (Ⅳ) - 36 ׃10 ויעל יהושע וכל ישראל עמו מעגלונה חברונה וילחמו עליה (Ⅴ)

And they took it, and smote it with the edge of the sword, and the king thereof, and all the cities thereof, and all the souls that were therein; he left none remaining, according to all that he had done to Eglon; but destroyed it utterly, and all the souls that were therein.
- Ils la prirent, et la frappèrent du tranchant de l'épée, elle, son roi, toutes les villes qui en dépendaient, et tous ceux qui s'y trouvaient; Josué n'en laissa échapper aucun, comme il avait fait à Églon, et il la dévoua par interdit avec tous ceux qui s'y trouvaient. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἐπάταξεν αὐτὴν ἐν στόματι ξίφους καὶ πα̃ν ἐμπνέον ὅσα ἠ̃ν ἐν αὐτη̨̃ οὐκ ἠ̃ν διασεσω̨σμένος ὃν τρόπον ἐποίησαν τὴν Οδολλαμ ἐξωλέθρευσαν αὐτὴν καὶ ὅσα ἠ̃ν ἐν αὐτη̨̃ (Ⅲ) - cepit eam, et percussit in ore gladii, regem quoque ejus, et omnia oppida regionis illius, universasque animas quæ in ea fuerant commoratæ : non reliquit in ea ullas reliquias : sicut fecerat Eglon, sic fecit et Hebron, cuncta quæ in ea reperit consumens gladio. (Ⅳ) - 37 ׃10 וילכדוה ויכוה לפי חרב ואת מלכה ואת כל עריה ואת כל הנפש אשר בה לא השאיר שריד ככל אשר עשה לעגלון ויחרם אותה ואת כל הנפש אשר בה ס (Ⅴ)

And Joshua returned, and all Israel with him, to Debir; and fought against it:
- Josué, et tout Israël avec lui, se dirigea sur Debir, et il l'attaqua. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἀπέστρεψεν 'Ιησου̃ς καὶ πα̃ς Ισραηλ εἰς Δαβιρ καὶ περικαθίσαντες αὐτὴν (Ⅲ) - Inde reversus in Dabir, (Ⅳ) - 38 ׃10 וישב יהושע וכל ישראל עמו דברה וילחם עליה (Ⅴ)

And he took it, and the king thereof, and all the cities thereof; and they smote them with the edge of the sword, and utterly destroyed all the souls that were therein; he left none remaining: as he had done to Hebron, so he did to Debir, and to the king thereof; as he had done also to Libnah, and to her king.
- Il la prit, elle, son roi, et toutes les villes qui en dépendaient; ils les frappèrent du tranchant de l'épée, et ils dévouèrent par interdit tous ceux qui s'y trouvaient, sans en laisser échapper aucun; Josué traita Debir et son roi comme il avait traité Hébron et comme il avait traité Libna et son roi. (Ⅱ) - ἔλαβον αὐτὴν καὶ τὸν βασιλέα αὐτη̃ς καὶ τὰς κώμας αὐτη̃ς καὶ ἐπάταξαν αὐτὴν ἐν στόματι ξίφους καὶ ἐξωλέθρευσαν αὐτὴν καὶ πα̃ν ἐμπνέον ἐν αὐτη̨̃ καὶ οὐ κατέλιπον αὐτη̨̃ οὐδένα διασεσω̨σμένον ὃν τρόπον ἐποίησαν τὴν Χεβρων καὶ τω̨̃ βασιλει̃ αὐτη̃ς οὕτως ἐποίησαν τη̨̃ Δαβιρ καὶ τω̨̃ βασιλει̃ αὐτη̃ς (Ⅲ) - cepit eam atque vastavit : regem quoque ejus atque omnia per circuitum oppida percussit in ore gladii : non dimisit in ea ullas reliquias : sicut fecerat Hebron et Lebna et regibus earum, sic fecit Dabir et regi illius. (Ⅳ) - 39 ׃10 וילכדה ואת מלכה ואת כל עריה ויכום לפי חרב ויחרימו את כל נפש אשר בה לא השאיר שריד כאשר עשה לחברון כן עשה לדברה ולמלכה וכאשר עשה ללבנה ולמלכה (Ⅴ)

So Joshua smote all the country of the hills, and of the south, and of the vale, and of the springs, and all their kings: he left none remaining, but utterly destroyed all that breathed, as the LORD God of Israel commanded.
- Josué battit tout le pays, la montagne, le midi, la plaine et les coteaux, et il en battit tous les rois; il ne laissa échapper personne, et il dévoua par interdit tout ce qui respirait, comme l'avait ordonné l'Éternel, le Dieu d'Israël. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἐπάταξεν 'Ιησου̃ς πα̃σαν τὴν γη̃ν τη̃ς ὀρεινη̃ς καὶ τὴν Ναγεβ καὶ τὴν πεδινὴν καὶ τὴν Ασηδωθ καὶ τοὺς βασιλει̃ς αὐτη̃ς οὐ κατέλιπον αὐτω̃ν σεσω̨σμένον καὶ πα̃ν ἐμπνέον ζωη̃ς ἐξωλέθρευσεν ὃν τρόπον ἐνετείλατο κύριος ὁ θεὸς Ισραηλ (Ⅲ) - Percussit itaque Josue omnem terram montanam et meridianam atque campestrem, et Asedoth, cum regibus suis : non dimisit in ea ullas reliquias, sed omne quod spirare poterat interfecit, sicut præceperat ei Dominus Deus Israël, (Ⅳ) - 40 ׃10 ויכה יהושע את כל הארץ ההר והנגב והשפלה והאשדות ואת כל מלכיהם לא השאיר שריד ואת כל הנשמה החרים כאשר צוה יהוה אלהי ישראל (Ⅴ)

And Joshua smote them from Kadeshbarnea even unto Gaza, and all the country of Goshen, even unto Gibeon.
- Josué les battit de Kadès Barnéa à Gaza, il battit tout le pays de Gosen jusqu'à Gabaon. (Ⅱ) - ἀπὸ Καδης Βαρνη ἕως Γάζης πα̃σαν τὴν Γοσομ ἕως τη̃ς Γαβαων (Ⅲ) - a Cadesbarne usque Gazam. Omnem terram Gosen usque Gabaon, (Ⅳ) - 41 ׃10 ויכם יהושע מקדש ברנע ועד עזה ואת כל ארץ גשן ועד גבעון (Ⅴ)

And all these kings and their land did Joshua take at one time, because the LORD God of Israel fought for Israel.
- Josué prit en même temps tous ces rois et leur pays, car l'Éternel, le Dieu d'Israël, combattait pour Israël. (Ⅱ) - καὶ πάντας τοὺς βασιλει̃ς αὐτω̃ν καὶ τὴν γη̃ν αὐτω̃ν ἐπάταξεν 'Ιησου̃ς εἰς ἅπαξ ὅτι κύριος ὁ θεὸς Ισραηλ συνεπολέμει τω̨̃ Ισραηλ (Ⅲ) - universosque reges, et regiones eorum uno impetu cepit atque vastavit : Dominus enim Deus Israël pugnavit pro eo. And Joshua returned, and all Israel with him, unto the camp to Gilgal.
- Et Josué, et tout Israël avec lui, retourna au camp à Guilgal. (Ⅱ) - Reversusque est cum omni Israël ad locum castrorum in Galgala. (Ⅳ) - 43 ׃10 וישב יהושע וכל ישראל עמו אל המחנה הגלגלה פ (Ⅴ)
