The LORD also spake unto Joshua, saying,
- L'Éternel parla à Josué, et dit: (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἐλάλησεν κύριος τω̨̃ 'Ιησοι̃ λέγων (Ⅲ) - Et locutus est Dominus ad Josue, dicens : Loquere filiis Israël, et dic eis : (Ⅳ) - 1 ׃20 וידבר יהוה אל יהושע לאמר (Ⅴ)

Speak to the children of Israel, saying, Appoint out for you cities of refuge, whereof I spake unto you by the hand of Moses:
- Parle aux enfants d'Israël, et dit: Établissez-vous, comme je vous l'ai ordonné par Moïse, des villes de refuge, (Ⅱ) - λάλησον τοι̃ς υἱοι̃ς Ισραηλ λέγων δότε τὰς πόλεις τω̃ν φυγαδευτηρίων ἃς εἰ̃πα πρὸς ὑμα̃ς διὰ Μωυση̃ (Ⅲ) - Separate urbes fugitivorum, de quibus locutus sum ad vos per manum Moysi : (Ⅳ) - 2 ׃20 דבר אל בני ישראל לאמר תנו לכם את ערי המקלט אשר דברתי אליכם ביד משה (Ⅴ)

That the slayer that killeth any person unawares and unwittingly may flee thither: and they shall be your refuge from the avenger of blood.
- où pourra s'enfuir le meurtrier qui aura tué quelqu'un involontairement, sans intention; elles vous serviront de refuge contre le vengeur du sang. (Ⅱ) - φυγαδευτήριον τω̨̃ φονευτη̨̃ τω̨̃ πατάξαντι ψυχὴν ἀκουσίως καὶ ἔσονται ὑμι̃ν αἱ πόλεις φυγαδευτήριον καὶ οὐκ ἀποθανει̃ται ὁ φονευτὴς ὑπὸ του̃ ἀγχιστεύοντος τὸ αἱ̃μα ἕως ἂν καταστη̨̃ ἐναντίον τη̃ς συναγωγη̃ς εἰς κρίσιν (Ⅲ) - ut confugiat ad eas quicumque animam percusserit nescius, et possit evadere iram proximi, qui ultor est sanguinis : (Ⅳ) - 3 ׃20 לנוס שמה רוצח מכה נפש בשגגה בבלי דעת והיו לכם למקלט מגאל הדם (Ⅴ)

And when he that doth flee unto one of those cities shall stand at the entering of the gate of the city, and shall declare his cause in the ears of the elders of that city, they shall take him into the city unto them, and give him a place, that he may dwell among them.
- Le meurtrier s'enfuira vers l'une de ces villes, s'arrêtera à l'entrée de la porte de la ville, et exposera son cas aux anciens de cette ville; ils le recueilleront auprès d'eux dans la ville, et lui donneront une demeure, afin qu'il habite avec eux. (Ⅱ) - cum ad unam harum confugerit civitatum, stabit ante portam civitatis, et loquetur senioribus urbis illius ea quæ se comprobent innocentem : sicque suscipient eum, et dabunt ei locum ad habitandum. (Ⅳ) - 4 ׃20 ונס אל אחת מהערים האלה ועמד פתח שער העיר ודבר באזני זקני העיר[p] ההיא את דבריו ואספו אתו העירה אליהם ונתנו לו מקום וישב עמם (Ⅴ)

And if the avenger of blood pursue after him, then they shall not deliver the slayer up into his hand; because he smote his neighbor unwittingly, and hated him not beforetime.
- Si le vengeur du sang le poursuit, ils ne livreront point le meurtrier entre ses mains; car c'est sans le vouloir qu'il a tué son prochain, et sans avoir été auparavant son ennemi. (Ⅱ) - Cumque ultor sanguinis eum fuerit persecutus, non tradent in manus ejus : quia ignorans percussit proximum ejus, nec ante biduum triduumve ejus probatur inimicus. (Ⅳ) - 5 ׃20 וכי ירדף גאל הדם אחריו ולא יסגרו את הרצח בידו כי בבלי דעת הכה את רעהו ולא שנא הוא לו מתמול שלשום (Ⅴ)

And he shall dwell in that city, until he stand before the congregation for judgment, and until the death of the high priest that shall be in those days: then shall the slayer return, and come unto his own city, and unto his own house, unto the city from whence he fled.
- Il restera dans cette ville jusqu'à ce qu'il ait comparu devant l'assemblée pour être jugé, jusqu'à la mort du souverain sacrificateur alors en fonctions. A cette époque, le meurtrier s'en retournera et rentrera dans sa ville et dans sa maison, dans la ville d'où il s'était enfui. (Ⅱ) - Et habitabit in civitate illa, donec stet ante judicium, causam reddens facti sui, et moriatur sacerdos magnus, qui fuerit in illo tempore : tunc revertetur homicida, et ingredietur civitatem et domum suam de qua fugerat. (Ⅳ) - 6 ׃20 וישב בעיר ההיא עד עמדו לפני העדה למשפט עד מות הכהן הגדול אשר יהיה בימים ההם אז ישוב הרוצח ובא אל עירו ואל ביתו אל העיר אשר נס משם (Ⅴ)

And they appointed Kedesh in Galilee in mount Naphtali, and Shechem in mount Ephraim, and Kirjatharba, which is Hebron, in the mountain of Judah.
- Ils consacrèrent Kédesch, en Galilée, dans la montagne de Nephthali; Sichem, dans la montagne d'Éphraïm; et Kirjath Arba, qui est Hébron, dans la montagne de Juda. (Ⅱ) - καὶ διέστειλεν τὴν Καδης ἐν τη̨̃ Γαλιλαία̨ ἐν τω̨̃ ὄρει τω̨̃ Νεφθαλι καὶ Συχεμ ἐν τω̨̃ ὄρει τω̨̃ Εφραιμ καὶ τὴν πόλιν Αρβοκ αὕτη ἐστὶν Χεβρων ἐν τω̨̃ ὄρει τω̨̃ Ιουδα (Ⅲ) - Decreveruntque Cedes in Galilæa montis Nephthali, et Sichem in monte Ephraim, et Cariatharbe, ipsa est Hebron in monte Juda. (Ⅳ) - 7 ׃20 ויקדשו את קדש בגליל בהר נפתלי ואת שכם בהר אפרים ואת קרית ארבע היא חברון בהר יהודה (Ⅴ)

And on the other side Jordan by Jericho eastward, they assigned Bezer in the wilderness upon the plain out of the tribe of Reuben, and Ramoth in Gilead out of the tribe of Gad, and Golan in Bashan out of the tribe of Manasseh.
- Et de l'autre côté du Jourdain, à l'orient de Jéricho, ils choisirent Betser, dans le désert, dans la plaine, dans la tribu de Ruben; Ramoth, en Galaad, dans la tribu de Gad; et Golan, en Basan, dans la tribu de Manassé. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἐν τω̨̃ πέραν του̃ Ιορδάνου ἔδωκεν Βοσορ ἐν τη̨̃ ἐρήμω̨ ἐν τω̨̃ πεδίω̨ ἀπὸ τη̃ς φυλη̃ς Ρουβην καὶ Αρημωθ ἐν τη̨̃ Γαλααδ ἐκ τη̃ς φυλη̃ς Γαδ καὶ τὴν Γαυλων ἐν τη̨̃ Βασανίτιδι ἐκ τη̃ς φυλη̃ς Μανασση (Ⅲ) - Et trans Jordanem contra orientalem plagam Jericho, statuerunt Bosor, quæ sita est in campestri solitudine de tribu Ruben, et Ramoth in Galaad de tribu Gad, et Gaulon in Basan de tribu Manasse. (Ⅳ) - 8 ׃20 ומעבר לירדן יריחו מזרחה נתנו את בצר במדבר במישר ממטה ראובן ואת ראמת בגלעד ממטה גד ואת *גלון **גולן בבשן ממטה מנשה (Ⅴ)

These were the cities appointed for all the children of Israel, and for the stranger that sojourneth among them, that whosoever killeth any person at unawares might flee thither, and not die by the hand of the avenger of blood, until he stood before the congregation.
- Telles furent les villes désignées pour tous les enfants d'Israël et pour l'étranger en séjour au milieu d'eux, afin que celui qui aurait tué quelqu'un involontairement pût s'y réfugier, et qu'il ne mourût pas de la main du vengeur du sang avant d'avoir comparu devant l'assemblée. (Ⅱ) - αὑ̃ται αἱ πόλεις αἱ ἐπίκλητοι τοι̃ς υἱοι̃ς Ισραηλ καὶ τω̨̃ προσηλύτω̨ τω̨̃ προσκειμένω̨ ἐν αὐτοι̃ς καταφυγει̃ν ἐκει̃ παντὶ παίοντι ψυχὴν ἀκουσίως ἵνα μὴ ἀποθάνη̨ ἐν χειρὶ του̃ ἀγχιστεύοντος τὸ αἱ̃μα ἕως ἂν καταστη̨̃ ἔναντι τη̃ς συναγωγη̃ς εἰς κρίσιν (Ⅲ) - Hæ civitates constitutæ sunt cunctis filiis Israël, et advenis qui habitabant inter eos, ut fugeret ad eas qui animam nescius percussisset, et non moreretur in manu proximi, effusum sanguinem vindicare cupientis, donec staret ante populum expositurus causam suam. (Ⅳ) - 9 ׃20 אלה היו ערי המועדה לכל בני ישראל ולגר הגר בתוכם לנוס שמה כל מכה נפש בשגגה ולא ימות ביד גאל הדם עד עמדו לפני העדה פ (Ⅴ)
