Puis un des sept anges qui tenaient les sept coupes vint, et il m'adressa la parole, en disant: Viens, je te montrerai le jugement de la grande prostituée qui est assise sur les grandes eaux.
- And there came one of the seven angels which had the seven vials, and talked with me, saying unto me, Come hither; I will shew unto thee the judgment of the great whore that sitteth upon many waters: (Ⅱ) - Καὶ ἦλθεν εἷς ἐκ τῶν ἑπτὰ ἀγγέλων τῶν ἐχόντων τὰς ἑπτὰ φιάλας, καὶ ἐλάλησεν μετ’ ἐμοῦ λέγων· Δεῦρο, δείξω σοι τὸ κρίμα τῆς πόρνης τῆς μεγάλης τῆς καθημένης ἐπὶ ⸀ὑδάτων πολλῶν, (Ⅲ) - Et venit unus de septem angelis, qui habebant septem phialas, et locutus est mecum, dicens : Veni, ostendam tibi damnationem meretricis magnæ, quæ sedet super aquas multas, (Ⅳ)

C'est avec elle que les rois de la terre se sont livrés à l'impudicité, et c'est du vin de son impudicité que les habitants de la terre se sont enivrés.
- With whom the kings of the earth have committed fornication, and the inhabitants of the earth have been made drunk with the wine of her fornication. (Ⅱ) - μεθ’ ἧς ἐπόρνευσαν οἱ βασιλεῖς τῆς γῆς, καὶ ἐμεθύσθησαν οἱ κατοικοῦντες τὴν γῆν ἐκ τοῦ οἴνου τῆς πορνείας αὐτῆς. (Ⅲ) - cum qua fornicati sunt reges terræ, et inebriati sunt qui inhabitant terram de vino prostitutionis ejus. (Ⅳ)

Il me transporta en esprit dans un désert. Et je vis une femme assise sur une bête écarlate, pleine de noms de blasphème, ayant sept têtes et dix cornes.
- So he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness: and I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet coloured beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἀπήνεγκέν με εἰς ἔρημον ἐν πνεύματι. καὶ εἶδον γυναῖκα καθημένην ἐπὶ θηρίον κόκκινον, ⸀γέμοντα ὀνόματα βλασφημίας, ⸀ἔχων κεφαλὰς ἑπτὰ καὶ κέρατα δέκα. (Ⅲ) - Et abstulit me in spiritu in desertum. Et vidi mulierem sedentem super bestiam coccineam, plenam nominibus blasphemiæ, habentem capita septem, et cornua decem. (Ⅳ)

Cette femme était vêtue de pourpre et d'écarlate, et parée d'or, de pierres précieuses et de perles. Elle tenait dans sa main une coupe d'or, remplie d'abominations et des impuretés de sa prostitution.
- And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet colour, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication: (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἡ γυνὴ ἦν περιβεβλημένη πορφυροῦν καὶ κόκκινον, ⸀καὶ κεχρυσωμένη ⸀χρυσίῳ καὶ λίθῳ τιμίῳ καὶ μαργαρίταις, ἔχουσα ποτήριον χρυσοῦν ἐν τῇ χειρὶ αὐτῆς γέμον βδελυγμάτων καὶ τὰ ἀκάθαρτα τῆς πορνείας αὐτῆς, (Ⅲ) - Et mulier erat circumdata purpura, et coccino, et inaurata auro, et lapide pretioso, et margaritis, habens poculum aureum in manu sua, plenum abominatione, et immunditia fornicationis ejus. (Ⅳ)

Sur son front était écrit un nom, un mystère: Babylone la grande, la mère des impudiques et des abominations de la terre.
- And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἐπὶ τὸ μέτωπον αὐτῆς ὄνομα γεγραμμένον, μυστήριον, Βαβυλὼν ἡ μεγάλη, ἡ μήτηρ τῶν πορνῶν καὶ τῶν βδελυγμάτων τῆς γῆς. (Ⅲ) - Et in fronte ejus nomen scriptum : Mysterium : Babylon magna, mater fornicationum, et abominationum terræ. (Ⅳ)

Et je vis cette femme ivre du sang des saints et du sang des témoins de Jésus. Et, en la voyant, je fus saisi d'un grand étonnement.
- And I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus: and when I saw her, I wondered with great admiration. (Ⅱ) - καὶ εἶδον τὴν γυναῖκα μεθύουσαν ἐκ τοῦ αἵματος τῶν ἁγίων ⸀καὶ ἐκ τοῦ αἵματος τῶν μαρτύρων Ἰησοῦ. Καὶ ἐθαύμασα ἰδὼν αὐτὴν θαῦμα μέγα· (Ⅲ) - Et vidi mulierem ebriam de sanguine sanctorum, et de sanguine martyrum Jesu. Et miratus sum cum vidissem illam admiratione magna. (Ⅳ)

Et l'ange me dit: Pourquoi t'étonnes-tu? Je te dirai le mystère de la femme et de la bête qui la porte, qui a les sept têtes et les dix cornes.
- And the angel said unto me, Wherefore didst thou marvel? I will tell thee the mystery of the woman, and of the beast that carrieth her, which hath the seven heads and ten horns. (Ⅱ) - καὶ εἶπέν μοι ὁ ἄγγελος· Διὰ τί ἐθαύμασας; ἐγὼ ἐρῶ σοι τὸ μυστήριον τῆς γυναικὸς καὶ τοῦ θηρίου τοῦ βαστάζοντος αὐτήν, τοῦ ἔχοντος τὰς ἑπτὰ κεφαλὰς καὶ τὰ δέκα κέρατα· (Ⅲ) - Et dixit mihi angelus : Quare miraris ? ego dicam tibi sacramentum mulieris, et bestiæ, quæ portat eam, quæ habet capita septem, et cornua decem. (Ⅳ)

La bête que tu as vue était, et elle n'est plus. Elle doit monter de l'abîme, et aller à la perdition. Et les habitants de la terre, ceux dont le nom n'a pas été écrit dès la fondation du monde dans le livre de vie, s'étonneront en voyant la bête, parce qu'elle était, et qu'elle n'est plus, et qu'elle reparaîtra. -
- The beast that thou sawest was, and is not; and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into perdition: and they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is. (Ⅱ) - τὸ θηρίον ὃ εἶδες ἦν καὶ οὐκ ἔστιν, καὶ μέλλει ἀναβαίνειν ἐκ τῆς ἀβύσσου, καὶ εἰς ἀπώλειαν ⸀ὑπάγει· καὶ ⸀θαυμασθήσονται οἱ κατοικοῦντες ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς, ὧν οὐ γέγραπται ⸂τὸ ὄνομα⸃ ἐπὶ τὸ βιβλίον τῆς ζωῆς ἀπὸ καταβολῆς κόσμου, βλεπόντων ⸂τὸ θηρίον ὅτι ἦν⸃ καὶ οὐκ ἔστιν καὶ παρέσται. (Ⅲ) - Bestia, quam vidisti, fuit, et non est, et ascensura est de abysso, et in interitum ibit : et mirabuntur inhabitantes terram (quorum non sunt scripta nomina in libro vitæ a constitutione mundi) videntes bestiam, quæ erat, et non est. (Ⅳ)

C'est ici l'intelligence qui a de la sagesse. -Les sept têtes sont sept montagnes, sur lesquelles la femme est assise.
- And here is the mind which hath wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains, on which the woman sitteth. (Ⅱ) - Ὧδε ὁ νοῦς ὁ ἔχων σοφίαν. αἱ ἑπτὰ κεφαλαὶ ἑπτὰ ὄρη εἰσίν, ὅπου ἡ γυνὴ κάθηται ἐπ’ αὐτῶν. καὶ βασιλεῖς ⸂ἑπτά εἰσιν⸃· (Ⅲ) - Et hic est sensus, qui habet sapientiam. Septem capita, septem montes sunt, super quos mulier sedet, et reges septem sunt. (Ⅳ)

Ce sont aussi sept rois: cinq sont tombés, un existe, l'autre n'est pas encore venu, et quand il sera venu, il doit rester peu de temps.
- And there are seven kings: five are fallen, and one is, and the other is not yet come; and when he cometh, he must continue a short space. (Ⅱ) - οἱ πέντε ἔπεσαν, ὁ εἷς ἔστιν, ὁ ἄλλος οὔπω ἦλθεν, καὶ ὅταν ἔλθῃ ὀλίγον ⸂αὐτὸν δεῖ⸃ μεῖναι, (Ⅲ) - Quinque ceciderunt, unus est, et alius nondum venit : et cum venerit, oportet illum breve tempus manere. (Ⅳ)

Et la bête qui était, et qui n'est plus, est elle-même un huitième roi, et elle est du nombre des sept, et elle va à la perdition.
- And the beast that was, and is not, even he is the eighth, and is of the seven, and goeth into perdition. (Ⅱ) - καὶ τὸ θηρίον ὃ ἦν καὶ οὐκ ἔστιν. καὶ ⸀αὐτὸς ὄγδοός ἐστιν καὶ ἐκ τῶν ἑπτά ἐστιν, καὶ εἰς ἀπώλειαν ὑπάγει. (Ⅲ) - Et bestia, quæ erat, et non est : et ipsa octava est : et de septem est, et in interitum vadit. (Ⅳ)

Les dix cornes que tu as vues sont dix rois, qui n'ont pas encore reçu de royaume, mais qui reçoivent autorité comme rois pendant une heure avec la bête.
- And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast. (Ⅱ) - καὶ τὰ δέκα κέρατα ἃ εἶδες δέκα βασιλεῖς εἰσιν, οἵτινες βασιλείαν οὔπω ἔλαβον, ἀλλὰ ἐξουσίαν ὡς βασιλεῖς μίαν ὥραν λαμβάνουσιν μετὰ τοῦ θηρίου. (Ⅲ) - Et decem cornua, quæ vidisti, decem reges sunt : qui regnum nondum acceperunt, sed potestatem tamquam reges una hora accipient post bestiam. (Ⅳ)

Ils ont un même dessein, et ils donnent leur puissance et leur autorité à la bête.
- These have one mind, and shall give their power and strength unto the beast. (Ⅱ) - οὗτοι μίαν ⸂γνώμην ἔχουσιν⸃, καὶ τὴν δύναμιν ⸀καὶ ἐξουσίαν αὐτῶν τῷ θηρίῳ διδόασιν. (Ⅲ) - Hi unum consilium habent, et virtutem, et potestatem suam bestiæ tradent. (Ⅳ)

Ils combattront contre l'agneau, et l'agneau les vaincra, parce qu'il est le Seigneur des seigneurs et le Roi des rois, et les appelés, les élus et les fidèles qui sont avec lui les vaincront aussi.
- These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful. (Ⅱ) - οὗτοι μετὰ τοῦ ἀρνίου πολεμήσουσιν, καὶ τὸ ἀρνίον νικήσει αὐτούς, ὅτι κύριος κυρίων ἐστὶν καὶ βασιλεὺς βασιλέων, καὶ οἱ μετ’ αὐτοῦ κλητοὶ καὶ ἐκλεκτοὶ καὶ πιστοί. (Ⅲ) - Hi cum Agno pugnabunt, et Agnus vincet illos : quoniam Dominus dominorum est, et Rex regum, et qui cum illo sunt, vocati, electi, et fideles. (Ⅳ)

Et il me dit: Les eaux que tu as vues, sur lesquelles la prostituée est assise, ce sont des peuples, des foules, des nations, et des langues.
- And he saith unto me, The waters which thou sawest, where the whore sitteth, are peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues. (Ⅱ) - Καὶ λέγει μοι· Τὰ ὕδατα ἃ εἶδες, οὗ ἡ πόρνη κάθηται, λαοὶ καὶ ὄχλοι εἰσὶν καὶ ἔθνη καὶ γλῶσσαι. (Ⅲ) - Et dixit mihi : Aquæ, quas vidisti ubi meretrix sedet, populi sunt, et gentes, et linguæ. (Ⅳ)

Les dix cornes que tu as vues et la bête haïront la prostituée, la dépouilleront et la mettront à nu, mangeront ses chairs, et la consumeront par le feu.
- And the ten horns which thou sawest upon the beast, these shall hate the whore, and shall make her desolate and naked, and shall eat her flesh, and burn her with fire. (Ⅱ) - καὶ τὰ δέκα κέρατα ἃ εἶδες καὶ τὸ θηρίον, οὗτοι μισήσουσι τὴν πόρνην, καὶ ἠρημωμένην ποιήσουσιν αὐτὴν καὶ ⸀γυμνήν, καὶ τὰς σάρκας αὐτῆς φάγονται, καὶ αὐτὴν κατακαύσουσιν ἐν πυρί· (Ⅲ) - Et decem cornua, quæ vidisti in bestia : hi odient fornicariam, et desolatam facient illam, et nudam, et carnes ejus manducabunt, et ipsam igni concremabunt. (Ⅳ)

Car Dieu a mis dans leurs coeurs d'exécuter son dessein et d'exécuter un même dessein, et de donner leur royauté à la bête, jusqu'à ce que les paroles de Dieu soient accomplies.
- For God hath put in their hearts to fulfil his will, and to agree, and give their kingdom unto the beast, until the words of God shall be fulfilled. (Ⅱ) - ὁ γὰρ θεὸς ἔδωκεν εἰς τὰς καρδίας αὐτῶν ποιῆσαι τὴν γνώμην αὐτοῦ, καὶ ποιῆσαι ⸂μίαν γνώμην⸃ καὶ δοῦναι τὴν βασιλείαν αὐτῶν τῷ θηρίῳ, ἄχρι ⸀τελεσθήσονται οἱ λόγοι τοῦ θεοῦ. (Ⅲ) - Deus enim dedit in corda eorum ut faciant quod placitum est illi : ut dent regnum suum bestiæ donec consummentur verba Dei. (Ⅳ)

Et la femme que tu as vue, c'est la grande ville qui a la royauté sur les rois de la terre.
- And the woman which thou sawest is that great city, which reigneth over the kings of the earth. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἡ γυνὴ ἣν εἶδες ἔστιν ἡ πόλις ἡ μεγάλη ἡ ἔχουσα βασιλείαν ἐπὶ τῶν βασιλέων τῆς γῆς. (Ⅲ) - Et mulier, quam vidisti, est civitas magna, quæ habet regnum super reges terræ. (Ⅳ)
