11. 0  
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
- Alhamdu lillahi rabbi alAAalameena (Ⅰ)
- The Beneficent, the Merciful, (Ⅱ)
- In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful. (Ⅲ)
- Praise belongs to God, the Lord of all Being, (Ⅳ)
- Praise be to Allah, the Cherisher and Sustainer of the worlds; (Ⅵ)
11. 1  
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ الر ۚ كِتَابٌ أُحْكِمَتْ آيَاتُهُ ثُمَّ فُصِّلَتْ مِن لَّدُنْ حَكِيمٍ خَبِيرٍ
- Aliflamra kitabun ohkimat ayatuhu thumma fussilat min ladun hakeemin khabeerin (Ⅰ)
- Follow what is inspired in you, and be patient until Allah judges, for He is the best of judges. (Ⅱ)
- Alif. Lam. Ra. (This is) a Scripture the revelations whereof are perfected and then expounded. (It cometh) from One Wise, Informed, (Ⅲ)
- Alif Lam Ra. A Book whose verses are set clear, and then distinguished, from One All-wise, All-aware: (Ⅳ)
- A. L. R. (This is) a Book, with verses basic or fundamental (of established meaning), further explained in detail,- from One Who is Wise and Well-acquainted (with all things): (Ⅵ)
11. 2  
أَلَّا تَعْبُدُوا إِلَّا اللَّهَ ۚ إِنَّنِي لَكُم مِّنْهُ نَذِيرٌ وَبَشِيرٌ
- Alla taAAbudoo illa Allaha innanee lakum minhu natheerun wabasheerun (Ⅰ)
- ALIF LAM RA. This is a Book whose signs (verses) are perfected (confirmed, fundamental and well-established) and then expounded (explained in detail), from the Wise One, the Aware: (Ⅱ)
- (Saying): Serve none but Allah. Lo! I am unto you from Him a warner and a bringer of good tidings. (Ⅲ)
- ´Serve you none but God´ (I am to you a warner from Him and a bearer of good tidings) (Ⅳ)
- (It teacheth) that ye should worship none but Allah. (Say): "Verily I am (sent) unto you from Him to warn and to bring glad tidings: (Ⅵ)
11. 3  
وَأَنِ اسْتَغْفِرُوا رَبَّكُمْ ثُمَّ تُوبُوا إِلَيْهِ يُمَتِّعْكُم مَّتَاعًا حَسَنًا إِلَىٰ أَجَلٍ مُّسَمًّى وَيُؤْتِ كُلَّ ذِي فَضْلٍ فَضْلَهُ ۖ وَإِن تَوَلَّوْا فَإِنِّي أَخَافُ عَلَيْكُمْ عَذَابَ يَوْمٍ كَبِيرٍ
- Waani istaghfiroo rabbakum thumma tooboo ilayhi yumattiAAkum mataAAan hasanan ila ajalin musamman wayuti kulla thee fadlin fadlahu wain tawallaw fainee akhafu AAalaykum AAathaba yawmin kabeerin (Ⅰ)
- (Saying,) " Serve (or worship) none other than Allah. Verily, I am unto you from Him a Warner and a herald of Glad Tidings. (Ⅱ)
- And (bidding you): Ask pardon of your Lord and turn to Him repentant. He will cause you to enjoy a fair estate until a time appointed. He giveth His bounty unto every bountiful one. But if ye turn away, lo! (then) I fear for you the retribution of an awful Day. (Ⅲ)
- and: ´Ask forgiveness of your Lord, then repent to Him, and He will give you fair enjoyment unto a term stated, and He will give of His bounty to every man of grace. But if you should turn your backs I fear for you the chastisement of a mighty day; (Ⅳ)
- "(And to preach thus), ´Seek ye the forgiveness of your Lord, and turn to Him in repentance; that He may grant you enjoyment, good (and true), for a term appointed, and bestow His abounding grace on all who abound in merit! But if ye turn away, then I fear for you the penalty of a great day: (Ⅵ)
11. 4  
إِلَى اللَّهِ مَرْجِعُكُمْ ۖ وَهُوَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ
- Ila Allahi marjiAAukum wahuwa AAala kulli shayin qadeerun (Ⅰ)
- "Seek pardon from your Lord, then turn to Him repentant. He will cause you to enjoy a good provision until an appointed time. He gives of His Bounty (or Grace) to every one deserving it. But if you turn your backs, I fear for you the retribution of an Awful Day. (Ⅱ)
- Unto Allah is your return, and He is Able to do all things. (Ⅲ)
- to God shall you return; He is powerful over everything.´ (Ⅳ)
- ´To Allah is your return, and He hath power over all things.´" (Ⅵ)
11. 5  
أَلَا إِنَّهُمْ يَثْنُونَ صُدُورَهُمْ لِيَسْتَخْفُوا مِنْهُ ۚ أَلَا حِينَ يَسْتَغْشُونَ ثِيَابَهُمْ يَعْلَمُ مَا يُسِرُّونَ وَمَا يُعْلِنُونَ ۚ إِنَّهُ عَلِيمٌ بِذَاتِ الصُّدُورِ
- Ala innahum yathnoona sudoorahum liyastakhfoo minhu ala heena yastaghshoona thiyabahum yaAAlamu ma yusirroona wama yuAAlinoona innahu AAaleemun bithati alssudoori (Ⅰ)
- "Unto Allah is your return, and He has power over all things." (Ⅱ)
- Lo! now they fold up their breasts that they may hide (their thoughts) from Him. At the very moment when they cover themselves with their clothing, Allah knoweth that which they keep hidden and that which they proclaim. Lo! He is Aware of what is in the breasts (of men). (Ⅲ)
- Behold, they fold their breasts, to hide them from Him; behold, when they wrap themselves in their garments He knows what they secrete and what they publish; surely He knows all the thoughts within the breasts. (Ⅳ)
- Behold! they fold up their hearts, that they may lie hid from Him! Ah even when they cover themselves with their garments, He knoweth what they conceal, and what they reveal: for He knoweth well the (inmost secrets) of the hearts. (Ⅵ)
11. 6  
۞ وَمَا مِن دَابَّةٍ فِي الْأَرْضِ إِلَّا عَلَى اللَّهِ رِزْقُهَا وَيَعْلَمُ مُسْتَقَرَّهَا وَمُسْتَوْدَعَهَا ۚ كُلٌّ فِي كِتَابٍ مُّبِينٍ
- Wama min dabbatin fee alardi illa AAala Allahi rizquha wayaAAlamu mustaqarraha wamustawdaAAaha kullun fee kitabin mubeenin (Ⅰ)
- Do they not, verily, fold up their breasts, that they may hide (their thoughts) from Him? But when they cover themselves with their garments, does He not know what they conceal and what they display? Verily, He knows the nature of men´s heart. (Ⅱ)
- And there is not a beast in the earth but the sustenance thereof dependeth on Allah. He knoweth its habitation and its repository. All is in a clear Record. (Ⅲ)
- No creature is there crawling on the earth, but its provision rests on God; He knows its lodging-place and its repository. All is in a Manifest Book. (Ⅳ)
- There is no moving creature on earth but its sustenance dependeth on Allah: He knoweth the time and place of its definite abode and its temporary deposit: All is in a clear Record. (Ⅵ)
11. 7  
وَهُوَ الَّذِي خَلَقَ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ فِي سِتَّةِ أَيَّامٍ وَكَانَ عَرْشُهُ عَلَى الْمَاءِ لِيَبْلُوَكُمْ أَيُّكُمْ أَحْسَنُ عَمَلًا ۗ وَلَئِن قُلْتَ إِنَّكُم مَّبْعُوثُونَ مِن بَعْدِ الْمَوْتِ لَيَقُولَنَّ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا إِنْ هَٰذَا إِلَّا سِحْرٌ مُّبِينٌ
- Wahuwa allathee khalaqa alssamawati waalarda fee sittati ayyamin wakana AAarshuhu AAala almai liyabluwakum ayyukum ahsanu AAamalan walain qulta innakum mabAAoothoona min baAAdi almawti layaqoolanna allatheena kafaroo in hatha illa sihrun mubeenun (Ⅰ)
- There is no creature that walks upon the earth but its provision is from Allah. He knows its permanent settlement and its temporary resting-place. All is in the Perspicuous Book (or in a Clear Record). (Ⅱ)
- And He it is Who created the heavens and the earth in six Days - and His Throne was upon the water - that He might try you, which of you is best in conduct. Yet if thou (O Muhammad) sayest: Lo! ye will be raised again after death! those who disbelieve will surely say: This is naught but mere magic. (Ⅲ)
- And it is He who created the heavens and the earth in six days, and His Throne was upon the waters -- that He might try you, which one of you is fairer in works. And if thou sayest, ´you shall surely be raised up after death,´ the unbelievers will say, ´This is naught but a manifest sorcery.´ (Ⅳ)
- He it is Who created the heavens and the earth in six Days - and His Throne was over the waters - that He might try you, which of you is best in conduct. But if thou wert to say to them, "Ye shall indeed be raised up after death", the Unbelievers would be sure to say, "This is nothing but obvious sorcery!" (Ⅵ)
11. 8  
وَلَئِنْ أَخَّرْنَا عَنْهُمُ الْعَذَابَ إِلَىٰ أُمَّةٍ مَّعْدُودَةٍ لَّيَقُولُنَّ مَا يَحْبِسُهُ ۗ أَلَا يَوْمَ يَأْتِيهِمْ لَيْسَ مَصْرُوفًا عَنْهُمْ وَحَاقَ بِهِم مَّا كَانُوا بِهِ يَسْتَهْزِئُونَ
- Walain akhkharna AAanhumu alAAathaba ila ommatin maAAdoodatin layaqoolunna ma yahbisuhu ala yawma yateehim laysa masroofan AAanhum wahaqa bihim ma kanoo bihi yastahzioona (Ⅰ)
- He it is who created the heavens and the earth in six days, and His Throne (or authority, control) was (first) upon the Water that He might try you, which of you is best in conduct. But should you say, "You will be raised up after death," those who disbelieve will surely say, "This is naught but obvious magic." (Ⅱ)
- And if We delay for them the doom until a reckoned time, they will surely say: What withholdeth it ? Verily on the day when it cometh unto them, it cannot be averted from them, and that which they derided will surround them. (Ⅲ)
- And if We postpone the chastisement from them till a reckoned moment they will say ´What is detaining it?´ Surely, the day it shall come to them, it shall not be turned aside from them, and they shall be encompassed by that they mocked at. (Ⅳ)
- If We delay the penalty for them for a definite term, they are sure to say, "What keeps it back?" Ah! On the day it (actually) reaches them, nothing will turn it away from them, and they will be completely encircled by that which they used to mock at! (Ⅵ)
11. 9  
وَلَئِنْ أَذَقْنَا الْإِنسَانَ مِنَّا رَحْمَةً ثُمَّ نَزَعْنَاهَا مِنْهُ إِنَّهُ لَيَئُوسٌ كَفُورٌ
- Walain athaqna alinsana minna rahmatan thumma nazaAAnaha minhu innahu layaoosun kafoorun (Ⅰ)
- And if We delay from them the doom to a stated time, they will surely say, "What hinders it?" Verily, on the day it comes to them there is no averting it from them and that which they mocked shall close in on them. (Ⅱ)
- And if we cause man to taste some mercy from Us and afterward withdraw it from him, lo! he is despairing, thankless. (Ⅲ)
- And if We let a man taste mercy from Us, and then We wrest it from him, he is desperate, ungrateful. (Ⅳ)
- If We give man a taste of Mercy from Ourselves, and then withdraw it from him, behold! he is in despair and (falls into) blasphemy. (Ⅵ)
11. 10  
وَلَئِنْ أَذَقْنَاهُ نَعْمَاءَ بَعْدَ ضَرَّاءَ مَسَّتْهُ لَيَقُولَنَّ ذَهَبَ السَّيِّئَاتُ عَنِّي ۚ إِنَّهُ لَفَرِحٌ فَخُورٌ
- Walain athaqnahu naAAmaa baAAda darraa massathu layaqoolanna thahaba alssayyiatu AAannee innahu lafarihun fakhoorun (Ⅰ)
- And if We make man taste of mercy from Us and then strip it off from him, verily, he is despairing, ungrateful; (Ⅱ)
- And if We cause him to taste grace after some misfortune that had befallen him, he saith: The ills have gone from me. Lo! he is exultant, boastful; (Ⅲ)
- But if We let him taste prosperity after hardship that has visited him, he will say, ´The evils have gone from me´; behold, he is joyous, boastful -- (Ⅳ)
- But if We give him a taste of (Our) favours after adversity hath touched him, he is sure to say, "All evil has departed from me:" Behold! he falls into exultation and pride. (Ⅵ)
11. 11  
إِلَّا الَّذِينَ صَبَرُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ أُولَٰئِكَ لَهُم مَّغْفِرَةٌ وَأَجْرٌ كَبِيرٌ
- Illa allatheena sabaroo waAAamiloo alssalihati olaika lahum maghfiratun waajrun kabeerun (Ⅰ)
- And if We make him taste of comfort after distress has touched him, he will surely say, "All evils have departed from me." Verily, then he is exultant and boastful. (Ⅱ)
- Save those who persevere and do good works. Theirs will be forgiveness and a great reward. (Ⅲ)
- save such as are patient, and do deeds of righteousness; for them awaits forgiveness and a mighty wage. (Ⅳ)
- Not so do those who show patience and constancy, and work righteousness; for them is forgiveness (of sins) and a great reward. (Ⅵ)
11. 12  
فَلَعَلَّكَ تَارِكٌ بَعْضَ مَا يُوحَىٰ إِلَيْكَ وَضَائِقٌ بِهِ صَدْرُكَ أَن يَقُولُوا لَوْلَا أُنزِلَ عَلَيْهِ كَنزٌ أَوْ جَاءَ مَعَهُ مَلَكٌ ۚ إِنَّمَا أَنتَ نَذِيرٌ ۚ وَاللَّهُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ وَكِيلٌ
- FalaAAallaka tarikun baAAda ma yooha ilayka wadaiqun bihi sadruka an yaqooloo lawla onzila AAalayhi kanzun aw jaa maAAahu malakun innama anta natheerun waAllahu AAala kulli shayin wakeelun (Ⅰ)
- Save those who are patient and do right; these, for them is pardon and a mighty reward. (Ⅱ)
- A likely thing, that thou wouldst forsake aught of that which hath been revealed unto thee, and that thy breast should be straitened for it, because they say: Why hath not a treasure been sent down for him, or an angel come with him ? Thou art but a warner, and Allah is in charge of all things. (Ⅲ)
- Perchance thou art leaving part of what is revealed to thee, and thy breast is straitened by it, because they say, ´Why has a treasure not been sent down upon him, or an angel not come with him?´ Thou art only a warner; and God is a Guardian over everything. (Ⅳ)
- Perchance thou mayest (feel the inclination) to give up a part of what is revealed unto thee, and thy heart feeleth straitened lest they say, "Why is not a treasure sent down unto him, or why does not an angel come down with him?" But thou art there only to warn! It is Allah that arrangeth all affairs! (Ⅵ)
11. 13  
أَمْ يَقُولُونَ افْتَرَاهُ ۖ قُلْ فَأْتُوا بِعَشْرِ سُوَرٍ مِّثْلِهِ مُفْتَرَيَاتٍ وَادْعُوا مَنِ اسْتَطَعْتُم مِّن دُونِ اللَّهِ إِن كُنتُمْ صَادِقِينَ
- Am yaqooloona iftarahu qul fatoo biAAashri suwarin mithlihi muftarayatin waodAAoo mani istataAAtum min dooni Allahi in kuntum sadiqeena (Ⅰ)
- Perchance you forsake part of what is revealed to you, and your breast is straitened thereby, lest they should say, "Why is not a treasure sent down to him? Or why did not an angel come with him?". But you are only a Warner. It is Allah who is in charge of all things. (Ⅱ)
- Or they say: He hath invented it. Say: Then bring ten surahs, the like thereof, invented, and call on everyone ye can beside Allah, if ye are truthful! (Ⅲ)
- Or do they say, ´He has forged it´? Say: ´Then bring you ten suras the like of it, forged; and call upon whom you are able, apart from God, if you speak truly.´ (Ⅳ)
- Or they may say, "He forged it," Say, "Bring ye then ten suras forged, like unto it, and call (to your aid) whomsoever ye can, other than Allah!- If ye speak the truth! (Ⅵ)
11. 14  
فَإِلَّمْ يَسْتَجِيبُوا لَكُمْ فَاعْلَمُوا أَنَّمَا أُنزِلَ بِعِلْمِ اللَّهِ وَأَن لَّا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ ۖ فَهَلْ أَنتُم مُّسْلِمُونَ
- Fai llam yastajeeboo lakum faiAAlamoo annama onzila biAAilmi Allahi waan la ilaha illa huwa fahal antum muslimoona (Ⅰ)
- Or they say, "He hath invented it." Say, "Bring ten surahs (chapters) like it, invented; and call upon all whom you can beside Allah, if you are truthful." (Ⅱ)
- And if they answer not your prayer, then know that it is revealed only in the knowledge of Allah; and that there is no God save Him. Will ye then be (of) those who surrender ? (Ⅲ)
- Then, if they do not answer you, know that it has been sent down with God´s knowledge, and that there is no god but He. So have you surrendered? (Ⅳ)
- "If then they (your false gods) answer not your (call), know ye that this revelation is sent down (replete) with the knowledge of Allah, and that there is no god but He! will ye even then submit (to Islam)?" (Ⅵ)
11. 15  
مَن كَانَ يُرِيدُ الْحَيَاةَ الدُّنْيَا وَزِينَتَهَا نُوَفِّ إِلَيْهِمْ أَعْمَالَهُمْ فِيهَا وَهُمْ فِيهَا لَا يُبْخَسُونَ
- Man kana yureedu alhayata alddunya wazeenataha nuwaffi ilayhim aAAmalahum feeha wahum feeha la yubkhasoona (Ⅰ)
- "And if they (false gods, Muses) do not answer, then know that it is revealed by the knowledge of Allah, and that there is no God but He. Do you then Surrender (unto Allah and accept Islam)? (Ⅱ)
- Whoso desireth the life of the world and its pomp, We shall repay them their deeds herein, and therein they will not be wronged. (Ⅲ)
- Whoso desires the present life and its adornment, We will pay them in full for their works therein, and they shall not be defrauded there; (Ⅳ)
- Those who desire the life of the present and its glitter,- to them we shall pay (the price of) their deeds therein,- without diminution. (Ⅵ)
11. 16  
أُولَٰئِكَ الَّذِينَ لَيْسَ لَهُمْ فِي الْآخِرَةِ إِلَّا النَّارُ ۖ وَحَبِطَ مَا صَنَعُوا فِيهَا وَبَاطِلٌ مَّا كَانُوا يَعْمَلُونَ
- Olaika allatheena laysa lahum fee alakhirati illa alnnaru wahabita ma sanaAAoo feeha wabatilun ma kanoo yaAAmaloona (Ⅰ)
- Whoever shall desire the life of this world and its pomp (or ornaments), We will pay them their works therein, and they shall not be cheated. (Ⅱ)
- Those are they for whom is naught in the Hereafter save the Fire. (All) that they contrive here is vain and (all) that they are wont to do is fruitless. (Ⅲ)
- those are they for whom in the world to come there is only the Fire; their deeds there will have failed, and void will be their works. (Ⅳ)
- They are those for whom there is nothing in the Hereafter but the Fire: vain are the designs they frame therein, and of no effect and the deeds that they do! (Ⅵ)
11. 17  
أَفَمَن كَانَ عَلَىٰ بَيِّنَةٍ مِّن رَّبِّهِ وَيَتْلُوهُ شَاهِدٌ مِّنْهُ وَمِن قَبْلِهِ كِتَابُ مُوسَىٰ إِمَامًا وَرَحْمَةً ۚ أُولَٰئِكَ يُؤْمِنُونَ بِهِ ۚ وَمَن يَكْفُرْ بِهِ مِنَ الْأَحْزَابِ فَالنَّارُ مَوْعِدُهُ ۚ فَلَا تَكُ فِي مِرْيَةٍ مِّنْهُ ۚ إِنَّهُ الْحَقُّ مِن رَّبِّكَ وَلَٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَ النَّاسِ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ
- Afaman kana AAala bayyinatin min rabbihi wayatloohu shahidun minhu wamin qablihi kitabu moosa imaman warahmatan olaika yuminoona bihi waman yakfur bihi mina alahzabi faalnnaru mawAAiduhu fala taku fee miryatin minhu innahu alhaqqu min rabbika walakinna akthara alnnasi la yuminoona (Ⅰ)
- These are those for whom there is nothing in the Hereafter save the Fire; and vain is that they made therein, and fruitless what they were doing! (Ⅱ)
- Is he (to be counted equal with them) who relieth on a clear proof from his Lord, and a witness from Him reciteth it, and before it was the Book of Moses, an example and a mercy ? Such believe therein, and whoso disbelieveth therein of the clans, the Fire is his appointed place. So be not thou in doubt concerning it. Lo! it is the Truth from thy Lord; but most of mankind believe not. (Ⅲ)
- And what of him who stands upon a clear sign from his Lord, and a witness from Him recites it, and before him is the Book of Moses for an ensample and a mercy? Those believe in it; but whosoever disbelieves in it, being one of the partisans, his promised land is the Fire. So be thou not in doubt of it; it is the truth from thy Lord, but most men do not believe. (Ⅳ)
- Can they be (like) those who accept a Clear (Sign) from their Lord, and whom a witness from Himself doth teach, as did the Book of Moses before it,- a guide and a mercy? They believe therein; but those of the Sects that reject it,- the Fire will be their promised meeting-place. Be not then in doubt thereon: for it is the truth from thy Lord: yet many among men do not believe! (Ⅵ)
11. 18  
وَمَنْ أَظْلَمُ مِمَّنِ افْتَرَىٰ عَلَى اللَّهِ كَذِبًا ۚ أُولَٰئِكَ يُعْرَضُونَ عَلَىٰ رَبِّهِمْ وَيَقُولُ الْأَشْهَادُ هَٰؤُلَاءِ الَّذِينَ كَذَبُوا عَلَىٰ رَبِّهِمْ ۚ أَلَا لَعْنَةُ اللَّهِ عَلَى الظَّالِمِينَ
- Waman athlamu mimmani iftara AAala Allahi kathiban olaika yuAAradoona AAala rabbihim wayaqoolu alashhadu haolai allatheena kathaboo AAala rabbihim ala laAAnatu Allahi AAala alththalimeena (Ⅰ)
- Is he (like them) who relies upon a manifest Sign from his Lord and a witness from Him recites it, and of which the book of Moses came as a model and a mercy before it? These believe in it; and whoever of the tribes disbelieves in it, the Fire is his promised destination. So be not you in doubt about it. Verily, it is truth from your Lord, though most men believe not. (Ⅱ)
- Who doeth greater wrong than he who inventeth a lie concerning Allah ? Such will be brought before their Lord, and the witnesses will say: These are they who lied concerning their Lord. Now the curse of Allah is upon wrong-doers, (Ⅲ)
- And who does greater evil than he who forges against God a lie? Those shall be presented before their Lord, and the witnesses will say, ´Those are they who lied against their Lord.´ Surely the curse of God shall rest upon the evildoers (Ⅳ)
- Who doth more wrong than those who invent a life against Allah? They will be turned back to the presence of their Lord, and the witnesses will say, "These are the ones who lied against their Lord! Behold! the Curse of Allah is on those who do wrong!- (Ⅵ)
11. 19  
الَّذِينَ يَصُدُّونَ عَن سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ وَيَبْغُونَهَا عِوَجًا وَهُم بِالْآخِرَةِ هُمْ كَافِرُونَ
- Allatheena yasuddoona AAan sabeeli Allahi wayabghoonaha AAiwajan wahum bialakhirati hum kafiroona (Ⅰ)
- Who is more unjust than he who invents a lie concerning Allah? Such shall be brought before their Lord, and the witnesses shall say, "These it is who lied about their Lord." Now the curse of Allah is upon the wrongdoers (Ⅱ)
- Who debar (men) from the way of Allah and would have it crooked, and who are disbelievers in the Hereafter. (Ⅲ)
- who bar from God´s way, desiring to make it crooked; they disbelieve in the world to come; (Ⅳ)
- "Those who would hinder (men) from the path of Allah and would seek in it something crooked: these were they who denied the Hereafter!" (Ⅵ)
11. 20  
أُولَٰئِكَ لَمْ يَكُونُوا مُعْجِزِينَ فِي الْأَرْضِ وَمَا كَانَ لَهُم مِّن دُونِ اللَّهِ مِنْ أَوْلِيَاءَ ۘ يُضَاعَفُ لَهُمُ الْعَذَابُ ۚ مَا كَانُوا يَسْتَطِيعُونَ السَّمْعَ وَمَا كَانُوا يُبْصِرُونَ
- Olaika lam yakoonoo muAAjizeena fee alardi wama kana lahum min dooni Allahi min awliyaa yudaAAafu lahumu alAAathabu ma kanoo yastateeAAoona alssamAAa wama kanoo yubsiroona (Ⅰ)
- Who turn men away from the path of Allah, and crave to make it crooked, and disbelieve in the Hereafter. (Ⅱ)
- Such will not escape in the earth, nor have they any protecting friends beside Allah. For them the torment will be double. They could not bear to hear, and they used not to see. (Ⅲ)
- they are unable to frustrate Him on earth and they have no protectors, apart from God. For them the chastisement shall be doubled; they could not hear, neither did they see. (Ⅳ)
- They will in no wise frustrate (His design) on earth, nor have they protectors besides Allah! Their penalty will be doubled! They lost the power to hear, and they did not see! (Ⅵ)
11. 21  
أُولَٰئِكَ الَّذِينَ خَسِرُوا أَنفُسَهُمْ وَضَلَّ عَنْهُم مَّا كَانُوا يَفْتَرُونَ
- Olaika allatheena khasiroo anfusahum wadalla AAanhum ma kanoo yaftaroona (Ⅰ)
- Such will not escape in the earth, nor have they patrons other than Allah. Doubled for them is the torment. They could not bear to hear, nor did they see. (Ⅱ)
- Such are they who have lost their souls, and that which they used to invent hath failed them. (Ⅲ)
- Those are they that have lost their souls, and that they forged has gone astray from them; (Ⅳ)
- They are the ones who have lost their own souls: and the (fancies) they invented have left them in the lurch! (Ⅵ)
11. 22  
لَا جَرَمَ أَنَّهُمْ فِي الْآخِرَةِ هُمُ الْأَخْسَرُونَ
- La jarama annahum fee alakhirati humu alakhsaroona (Ⅰ)
- These it is who have lost their souls, and that which they used to devise has failed them. (Ⅱ)
- Assuredly in the Hereafter they will be the greatest losers. (Ⅲ)
- they without doubt will be the greatest losers in the world to come. (Ⅳ)
- Without a doubt, these are the very ones who will lose most in the Hereafter! (Ⅵ)
11. 23  
إِنَّ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ وَأَخْبَتُوا إِلَىٰ رَبِّهِمْ أُولَٰئِكَ أَصْحَابُ الْجَنَّةِ ۖ هُمْ فِيهَا خَالِدُونَ
- Inna allatheena amanoo waAAamiloo alsalihati waakhbatoo ila rabbihim olaika ashabu aljannati hum feeha khalidoona (Ⅰ)
- No doubt in the Hereafter these are the greatest losers. (Ⅱ)
- Lo! those who believe and do good works and humble themselves before their Lord: such are rightful owners of the Garden; they will abide therein. (Ⅲ)
- But those who believe, and do righteous deeds, and have humbled themselves unto their Lord -- they shall be the inhabitants of Paradise, therein dwelling forever. (Ⅳ)
- But those who believe and work righteousness, and humble themselves before their Lord,- They will be companions of the gardens, to dwell therein for aye! (Ⅵ)
11. 24  
۞ مَثَلُ الْفَرِيقَيْنِ كَالْأَعْمَىٰ وَالْأَصَمِّ وَالْبَصِيرِ وَالسَّمِيعِ ۚ هَلْ يَسْتَوِيَانِ مَثَلًا ۚ أَفَلَا تَذَكَّرُونَ
- Mathalu alfareeqayni kaalaAAma waalasammi waalbaseeri waalssameeAAi hal yastawiyani mathalan afala tathakkaroona (Ⅰ)
- Verily, those who believe and do what is right, and humble themselves before their Lord, they are the Fellows of the Garden; they shall dwell therein. (Ⅱ)
- The similitude of the two parties is as the blind and the deaf and the seer and the hearer. Are they equal in similitude ? Will ye not then be admonished ? (Ⅲ)
- The likeness of the two parties is as the man blind and deaf, and the man who sees and hears; are they equal in likeness? Will you not remember? (Ⅳ)
- These two kinds (of men) may be compared to the blind and deaf, and those who can see and hear well. Are they equal when compared? Will ye not then take heed? (Ⅵ)
11. 25  
وَلَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَا نُوحًا إِلَىٰ قَوْمِهِ إِنِّي لَكُمْ نَذِيرٌ مُّبِينٌ
- Walaqad arsalna noohan ila qawmihi innee lakum natheerun mubeenun (Ⅰ)
- The similitude of the two parties is as the blind and the deaf (on the one hand), and the seeing and the hearing (on the other); are they equal in similitude? Will you not then take heed? (Ⅱ)
- And We sent Noah unto his folk (and he said): Lo! I am a plain warner unto you. (Ⅲ)
- And We sent Noah to his people: ´I am for you a warner, and a bearer of good tidings: (Ⅳ)
- We sent Noah to his people (with a mission): "I have come to you with a Clear Warning: (Ⅵ)
11. 26  
أَن لَّا تَعْبُدُوا إِلَّا اللَّهَ ۖ إِنِّي أَخَافُ عَلَيْكُمْ عَذَابَ يَوْمٍ أَلِيمٍ
- An la taAAbudoo illa Allaha innee akhafu AAalaykum AAathaba yawmin aleemin (Ⅰ)
- We did send Noah unto his people, saying, "Verily, I am to you a plain Warner; (Ⅱ)
- That ye serve none, save Allah. Lo! I fear for you the retribution of a painful Day. (Ⅲ)
- Serve you none but God. I fear for you the chastisement of a painful day.´ (Ⅳ)
- "That ye serve none but Allah: Verily I do fear for you the penalty of a grievous day." (Ⅵ)
11. 27  
فَقَالَ الْمَلَأُ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا مِن قَوْمِهِ مَا نَرَاكَ إِلَّا بَشَرًا مِّثْلَنَا وَمَا نَرَاكَ اتَّبَعَكَ إِلَّا الَّذِينَ هُمْ أَرَاذِلُنَا بَادِيَ الرَّأْيِ وَمَا نَرَىٰ لَكُمْ عَلَيْنَا مِن فَضْلٍ بَلْ نَظُنُّكُمْ كَاذِبِينَ
- Faqala almalao allatheena kafaroo min qawmihi ma naraka illa basharan mithlana wama naraka ittabaAAaka illa allatheena hum arathiluna badiya alrrayi wama nara lakum AAalayna min fadlin bal nathunnukum kathibeena (Ⅰ)
- That you should not worship any save Allah. Verily, I fear for you the torment of the grievous Day." (Ⅱ)
- The chieftains of his folk, who disbelieved, said: We see thee but a mortal like us, and we see not that any follow thee save the most abject among us, without reflection. We behold in you no merit above us - nay, we deem you liars. (Ⅲ)
- Said the Council of the unbelievers of his people, ´We see thee not other than a mortal like ourselves, and we see no? any following thee but the vilest of us, inconsiderately. We do not see you have over us any superiority; no, rather we think you are liars.´ (Ⅳ)
- But the chiefs of the Unbelievers among his people said: "We see (in) thee nothing but a man like ourselves: Nor do we see that any follow thee but the meanest among us, in judgment immature: Nor do we see in you (all) any merit above us: in fact we thing ye are liars!" (Ⅵ)
11. 28  
قَالَ يَا قَوْمِ أَرَأَيْتُمْ إِن كُنتُ عَلَىٰ بَيِّنَةٍ مِّن رَّبِّي وَآتَانِي رَحْمَةً مِّنْ عِندِهِ فَعُمِّيَتْ عَلَيْكُمْ أَنُلْزِمُكُمُوهَا وَأَنتُمْ لَهَا كَارِهُونَ
- Qala ya qawmi araaytum in kuntu AAala bayyinatin min rabbee waatanee rahmatan min AAindihi faAAummiyat AAalaykum anulzimukumooha waantum laha karihoona (Ⅰ)
- But the chiefs of those who disbelieved amongst his people said, "We only see in you a mortal like ourselves; nor do we see that any follow you except the most abject (or meanest, most ignorant or most deficient) amongst us by a rash (or immature) judgment; nor do we see that you have any merit above us; nay more, we think you are liars!" (Ⅱ)
- He said: O my people! Bethink you, if I rely on a clear proof from my Lord and there hath come unto me a mercy from His presence, and it hath been made obscure to you, can we compel you to accept it when ye are averse thereto ? (Ⅲ)
- He said, ´O my people, what think you? If I stand upon a clear sign from my Lord, and He has given me mercy from Him, and it has been obscured for you, shall we compel you to it while you are averse to it? (Ⅳ)
- He said: "O my people! See ye if (it be that) I have a Clear Sign from my Lord, and that He hath sent Mercy unto me from His own presence, but that the Mercy hath been obscured from your sight? shall we compel you to accept it when ye are averse to it? (Ⅵ)
11. 29  
وَيَا قَوْمِ لَا أَسْأَلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مَالًا ۖ إِنْ أَجْرِيَ إِلَّا عَلَى اللَّهِ ۚ وَمَا أَنَا بِطَارِدِ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا ۚ إِنَّهُم مُّلَاقُو رَبِّهِمْ وَلَٰكِنِّي أَرَاكُمْ قَوْمًا تَجْهَلُونَ
- Waya qawmi la asalukum AAalayhi malan in ajriya illa AAala Allahi wama ana bitaridi allatheena amanoo innahum mulaqoo rabbihim walakinnee arakum qawman tajhaloona (Ⅰ)
- Noah said, "O my people! Bethink you, if I rely upon a manifest Sign from my Lord, and there come to me mercy from Him, and you are blind to it (or it has been made obscure to you); can we compel you to accept it while you are averse to it? (Ⅱ)
- And O my people! I ask of you no wealth therefor. My reward is the concern only of Allah, and I am not going to thrust away those who believe - Lo! they have to meet their Lord! - but I see you a folk that are ignorant. (Ⅲ)
- O my people, I do not ask of you wealth for this; my wage falls only upon God. I will not drive away those who believe; they shall surely meet their Lord. But I see you are an ignorant people. (Ⅳ)
- "And O my people! I ask you for no wealth in return: my reward is from none but Allah: But I will not drive away (in contempt) those who believe: for verily they are to meet their Lord, and ye I see are the ignorant ones! (Ⅵ)
11. 30  
وَيَا قَوْمِ مَن يَنصُرُنِي مِنَ اللَّهِ إِن طَرَدتُّهُمْ ۚ أَفَلَا تَذَكَّرُونَ
- Waya qawmi man yansurunee mina Allahi in taradtuhum afala tathakkaroona (Ⅰ)
- "O my people! I do not ask you for wealth in return for it; my hire (or wage, reward) is only from Allah. Nor will I repulse (drive away) those who believe. Verily, they shall meet their Lord. But I see you as a people who are ignorant. (Ⅱ)
- And, O my people! who would deliver me from Allah if I thrust them away ? Will ye not then reflect ? (Ⅲ)
- O my people, who would help me against God, if I drive you away? (Ⅳ)
- "And O my people! who would help me against Allah if I drove them away? Will ye not then take heed? (Ⅵ)
11. 31  
وَلَا أَقُولُ لَكُمْ عِندِي خَزَائِنُ اللَّهِ وَلَا أَعْلَمُ الْغَيْبَ وَلَا أَقُولُ إِنِّي مَلَكٌ وَلَا أَقُولُ لِلَّذِينَ تَزْدَرِي أَعْيُنُكُمْ لَن يُؤْتِيَهُمُ اللَّهُ خَيْرًا ۖ اللَّهُ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا فِي أَنفُسِهِمْ ۖ إِنِّي إِذًا لَّمِنَ الظَّالِمِينَ
- Wala aqoolu lakum AAindee khazainu Allahi wala aAAlamu alghayba wala aqoolu innee malakun wala aqoolu lillatheena tazdaree aAAyunukum lan yutiyahumu Allahu khayran Allahu aAAlamu bima fee anfusihim innee ithan lamina alththalimeena (Ⅰ)
- "O my people! Who will help me against Allah, were I to repel them? Do you not then reflect? (Ⅱ)
- I say not unto you: "I have the treasures of Allah" nor "I have knowledge of the Unseen," nor say I: "Lo! I am an angel!" Nor say I unto those whom your eyes scorn that Allah will not give them good - Allah knoweth best what is in their hearts - Lo! then indeed I should be of the wrong-doers. (Ⅲ)
- Will you not remember? I do not say to you, "I possess the treasuries of God"; I know not the Unseen; and I do not say, "I am an angel." Nor do I say to those your eyes despise, "God will not give them any good"; God knows best what is in their hearts. ´Surely in that case I should be among the evildoers.´ (Ⅳ)
- "I tell you not that with me are the treasures of Allah, nor do I know what is hidden, nor claim I to be an angel. Nor yet do I say, of those whom your eyes do despise that Allah will not grant them (all) that is good: Allah knoweth best what is in their souls: I should, if I did, indeed be a wrong-doer." (Ⅵ)
11. 32  
قَالُوا يَا نُوحُ قَدْ جَادَلْتَنَا فَأَكْثَرْتَ جِدَالَنَا فَأْتِنَا بِمَا تَعِدُنَا إِن كُنتَ مِنَ الصَّادِقِينَ
- Qaloo ya noohu qad jadaltana faaktharta jidalana fatina bima taAAiduna in kunta mina alssadiqeena (Ⅰ)
- "I say not unto you that I have the treasures of Allah; nor do I know the unseen; nor do I say: verily, I am an angel; nor do I say of those whom your eyes despise: Allah will never give them any good - Allah knows best what is in their souls, verily, I should then be of the wrong-doers (unjust)." (Ⅱ)
- They said: O Noah! Thou hast disputed with us and multiplied disputation with us; now bring upon us that wherewith thou threatenest us, if thou art of the truthful. (Ⅲ)
- They said, ´Noah, thou hast disputed with us and make much disputation with us. Then bring us that thou promisest us, if thou speakest truly.´ (Ⅳ)
- They said: "O Noah! thou hast disputed with us, and (much) hast thou prolonged the dispute with us: now bring upon us what thou threatenest us with, if thou speakest the truth!?" (Ⅵ)
11. 33  
قَالَ إِنَّمَا يَأْتِيكُم بِهِ اللَّهُ إِن شَاءَ وَمَا أَنتُم بِمُعْجِزِينَ
- Qala innama yateekum bihi Allahu in shaa wama antum bimuAAjizeena (Ⅰ)
- They said, "O Noah! You have wrangled with us, and have multiplied disputation among us. Now bring upon us what you have threatened us with, if you are of the truthful." (Ⅱ)
- He said: Only Allah will bring it upon you if He will, and ye can by no means escape. (Ⅲ)
- He said, ´God will bring you it if He will; you cannot frustrate Him. (Ⅳ)
- He said: "Truly, Allah will bring it on you if He wills,- and then, ye will not be able to frustrate it! (Ⅵ)
11. 34  
وَلَا يَنفَعُكُمْ نُصْحِي إِنْ أَرَدتُّ أَنْ أَنصَحَ لَكُمْ إِن كَانَ اللَّهُ يُرِيدُ أَن يُغْوِيَكُمْ ۚ هُوَ رَبُّكُمْ وَإِلَيْهِ تُرْجَعُونَ
- Wala yanfaAAukum nushee in aradtu an ansaha lakum in kana Allahu yureedu an yughwiyakum huwa rabbukum wailayhi turjaAAoona (Ⅰ)
- Said he, "Allah will only bring it on you when He pleases, nor can you make Him helpless (frustrate Him); (Ⅱ)
- My counsel will not profit you if I were minded to advise you, if Allah's will is to keep you astray. He is your Lord and unto Him ye will be brought back. (Ⅲ)
- And my sincere counsel will not profit you, if I desire to counsel you sincerely, if God desires to pervert you; He is your Lord, and unto Him you shall be returned.´ (Ⅳ)
- "Of no profit will be my counsel to you, much as I desire to give you (good) counsel, if it be that Allah willeth to leave you astray: He is your Lord! and to Him will ye return!" (Ⅵ)
11. 35  
أَمْ يَقُولُونَ افْتَرَاهُ ۖ قُلْ إِنِ افْتَرَيْتُهُ فَعَلَيَّ إِجْرَامِي وَأَنَا بَرِيءٌ مِّمَّا تُجْرِمُونَ
- Am yaqooloona iftarahu qul ini iftaraytuhu faAAalayya ijramee waana bareeon mimma tujrimoona (Ⅰ)
- Nor will my advice profit you were I minded to advise you, if Allah wills to keep you astray. He is your Lord, and unto Him shall you return." (Ⅱ)
- Or say they (again): He hath invented it ? Say: If I have invented it, upon me be my crimes, but I am innocent of (all) that ye commit. (Ⅲ)
- (Or do they say, ´He has forged it´? Say: ´If I have forged it, upon me falls my sin; and I am quit of the sins you do.´) (Ⅳ)
- Or do they say, "He has forged it"? Say: "If I had forged it, on me were my sin! and I am free of the sins of which ye are guilty! (Ⅵ)
11. 36  
وَأُوحِيَ إِلَىٰ نُوحٍ أَنَّهُ لَن يُؤْمِنَ مِن قَوْمِكَ إِلَّا مَن قَدْ آمَنَ فَلَا تَبْتَئِسْ بِمَا كَانُوا يَفْعَلُونَ
- Waoohiya ila noohin annahu lan yumina min qawmika illa man qad amana fala tabtais bima kanoo yafAAaloona (Ⅰ)
- Do they say, "He has invented it?" Say, "If I have devised it, then on me be my crime, but I am clear (innocent) of all that you commit." (Ⅱ)
- And it was inspired in Noah, (saying): No-one of thy folk will believe save him who hath believed already. Be not distressed because of what they do. (Ⅲ)
- And it was revealed to Noah, saying, ´None of thy people shall believe but he who has already believed; so be thou not distressed by that they may be doing. (Ⅳ)
- It was revealed to Noah: "None of thy people will believe except those who have believed already! So grieve no longer over their (evil) deeds. (Ⅵ)
11. 37  
وَاصْنَعِ الْفُلْكَ بِأَعْيُنِنَا وَوَحْيِنَا وَلَا تُخَاطِبْنِي فِي الَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا ۚ إِنَّهُم مُّغْرَقُونَ
- WaisnaAAi alfulka biaAAyunina wawahyina wala tukhatibnee fee allatheena thalamoo innahum mughraqoona (Ⅰ)
- And Noah was inspired (in these words), "None shall surely believe amongst your people but those who have believed already; take it not then ill that which they do. (Ⅱ)
- Build the ship under Our eyes and by Our inspiration, and speak not unto Me on behalf of those who do wrong. Lo! they will be drowned. (Ⅲ)
- Make thou the Ark under Our eyes, and as We reveal; and address Me not concerning those who have done evil; they shall be drowned.´ (Ⅳ)
- "But construct an Ark under Our eyes and Our inspiration, and address Me no (further) on behalf of those who are in sin: for they are about to be overwhelmed (in the Flood)." (Ⅵ)
11. 38  
وَيَصْنَعُ الْفُلْكَ وَكُلَّمَا مَرَّ عَلَيْهِ مَلَأٌ مِّن قَوْمِهِ سَخِرُوا مِنْهُ ۚ قَالَ إِن تَسْخَرُوا مِنَّا فَإِنَّا نَسْخَرُ مِنكُمْ كَمَا تَسْخَرُونَ
- WayasnaAAu alfulka wakullama marra AAalayhi malaon min qawmihi sakhiroo minhu qala in taskharoo minna fainna naskharu minkum kama taskharoona (Ⅰ)
- And make the Ark under Our eyes (supervision, purposes), and at Our inspiration (instructions); and plead not with Me for those who have done wrong. Verily, they shall be drowned." (Ⅱ)
- And he was building the ship, and every time that chieftains of his people passed him, they made mock of him. He said: Though ye make mock of Us, yet We mock at you even as ye mock; (Ⅲ)
- So he was making the Ark; and whenever a council of his people passed by him they scoffed at him, He said, ´If you scoff at us, we shall surely scoff at you, as you scoff (Ⅳ)
- Forthwith he (starts) constructing the Ark: Every time that the chiefs of his people passed by him, they threw ridicule on him. He said: "If ye ridicule us now, we (in our turn) can look down on you with ridicule likewise! (Ⅵ)
11. 39  
فَسَوْفَ تَعْلَمُونَ مَن يَأْتِيهِ عَذَابٌ يُخْزِيهِ وَيَحِلُّ عَلَيْهِ عَذَابٌ مُّقِيمٌ
- Fasawfa taAAlamoona man yateehi AAathabun yukhzeehi wayahillu AAalayhi AAathabun muqeemun (Ⅰ)
- So he made the Ark; and every time the chiefs of his people passed by him they mocked at him. Said he, "If you mock at us, verily, we shall mock at you even as you are mocking, (Ⅱ)
- And ye shall know to whom a punishment that will confound him cometh, and upon whom a lasting doom will fall. (Ⅲ)
- and you shall know to whom will come a chastisement degrading him, and upon whom there shall alight a lasting chastisement.´ (Ⅳ)
- "But soon will ye know who it is on whom will descend a penalty that will cover them with shame,- on whom will be unloosed a penalty lasting:" (Ⅵ)
11. 40  
حَتَّىٰ إِذَا جَاءَ أَمْرُنَا وَفَارَ التَّنُّورُ قُلْنَا احْمِلْ فِيهَا مِن كُلٍّ زَوْجَيْنِ اثْنَيْنِ وَأَهْلَكَ إِلَّا مَن سَبَقَ عَلَيْهِ الْقَوْلُ وَمَنْ آمَنَ ۚ وَمَا آمَنَ مَعَهُ إِلَّا قَلِيلٌ
- Hatta itha jaa amruna wafara alttannooru qulna ihmil feeha min kullin zawjayni ithnayni waahlaka illa man sabaqa AAalayhi alqawlu waman amana wama amana maAAahu illa qaleelun (Ⅰ)
- And you shall surely soon know who it is to whom the punishment that confounds and shames shall come, and upon whom shall fall the lasting doom." (Ⅱ)
- (Thus it was) till, when Our commandment came to pass and the oven gushed forth water, We said: Load therein two of every kind, a pair (the male and female), and thy household, save him against whom the word hath gone forth already, and those who believe. And but a few were they who believed with him. (Ⅲ)
- Until, when Our command came, and the Oven boiled, We said, ´Embark in it two of every kind, and thy family -- except for him against whom the word has already been spoken and whosoever believes.´ And there believed not with him except a few. (Ⅳ)
- At length, behold! there came Our command, and the fountains of the earth gushed forth! We said: "Embark therein, of each kind two, male and female, and your family - except those against whom the word has already gone forth,- and the Believers." but only a few believed with him. (Ⅵ)
11. 41  
۞ وَقَالَ ارْكَبُوا فِيهَا بِسْمِ اللَّهِ مَجْرَاهَا وَمُرْسَاهَا ۚ إِنَّ رَبِّي لَغَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ
- Waqala irkaboo feeha bismi Allahi majraha wamursaha inna rabbee laghafoorun raheemun (Ⅰ)
- Then when Our commandment came to pass, and the geysers gushed forth water, We said, "Load therein two of every kind, a pair (male and female), and your family, save him on whom the sentence has already been passed, and those who believe." But there were but few who believed with him. (Ⅱ)
- And he said: Embark therein! In the name of Allah be its course and its mooring. Lo! my Lord is Forgiving, Merciful. (Ⅲ)
- He said, ´Embark in it! In God´s Name shall be its course and its berthing. Surely my Lord is All-forgiving, All-compassionate.´ (Ⅳ)
- So he said: "Embark ye on the Ark, In the name of Allah, whether it move or be at rest! For my Lord is, be sure, Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful!" (Ⅵ)
11. 42  
وَهِيَ تَجْرِي بِهِمْ فِي مَوْجٍ كَالْجِبَالِ وَنَادَىٰ نُوحٌ ابْنَهُ وَكَانَ فِي مَعْزِلٍ يَا بُنَيَّ ارْكَب مَّعَنَا وَلَا تَكُن مَّعَ الْكَافِرِينَ
- Wahiya tajree bihim fee mawjin kaaljibali wanada noohunu ibnahu wakana fee maAAzilin ya bunayya irkab maAAana wala takun maAAa alkafireena (Ⅰ)
- And he said, "Ride you therein. In the name of Allah is its course, and its mooring. Verily, my Lord is Forgiving and Merciful." (Ⅱ)
- And it sailed with them amid waves like mountains, and Noah cried unto his son - and he was standing aloof - O my son! Come ride with us, and be not with the disbelievers. (Ⅲ)
- So it ran with them amid waves like mountains; and Noah called to his son, who was standing apart, ´Embark with us, my son, and be thou not with the unbelievers!´ (Ⅳ)
- So the Ark floated with them on the waves (towering) like mountains, and Noah called out to his son, who had separated himself (from the rest): "O my son! embark with us, and be not with the unbelievers!" (Ⅵ)
11. 43  
قَالَ سَآوِي إِلَىٰ جَبَلٍ يَعْصِمُنِي مِنَ الْمَاءِ ۚ قَالَ لَا عَاصِمَ الْيَوْمَ مِنْ أَمْرِ اللَّهِ إِلَّا مَن رَّحِمَ ۚ وَحَالَ بَيْنَهُمَا الْمَوْجُ فَكَانَ مِنَ الْمُغْرَقِينَ
- Qala saawee ila jabalin yaAAsimunee mina almai qala la AAasima alyawma min amri Allahi illa man rahima wahala baynahuma almawju fakana mina almughraqeena (Ⅰ)
- And it sailed with them amid waves like mountains; and Noah cried to his son who had gone aside (stood aloof or separated himself), "O my boy! Ride with us and be not with the disbelievers." (Ⅱ)
- He said: I shall betake me to some mountain that will save me from the water. (Noah) said: This day there is none that saveth from the commandment of Allah save him on whom He hath had mercy. And the wave came in between them, so he was among the drowned. (Ⅲ)
- He said, ´I will take refuge in a mountain, that shall defend me from the water.´ Said he, ´Today there is no defender from God´s command but for him on whom He has mercy.´ And the waves came between them, and he was among the drowned. (Ⅳ)
- The son replied: "I will betake myself to some mountain: it will save me from the water." Noah said: "This day nothing can save, from the command of Allah, any but those on whom He hath mercy! "And the waves came between them, and the son was among those overwhelmed in the Flood. (Ⅵ)
11. 44  
وَقِيلَ يَا أَرْضُ ابْلَعِي مَاءَكِ وَيَا سَمَاءُ أَقْلِعِي وَغِيضَ الْمَاءُ وَقُضِيَ الْأَمْرُ وَاسْتَوَتْ عَلَى الْجُودِيِّ ۖ وَقِيلَ بُعْدًا لِّلْقَوْمِ الظَّالِمِينَ
- Waqeela ya ardu iblaAAee maaki waya samao aqliAAee wagheeda almao waqudiya alamru waistawat AAala aljoodiyyi waqeela buAAdan lilqawmi alththalimeena (Ⅰ)
- The son replied, "I will betake me to some mountain that shall save me from the water (I will find another solution)." Said Noah, "There is none this day that can save from the command of Allah, except for him on whom He may have mercy." And the wave came between them, and he was amongst the drowned. (Ⅱ)
- And it was said: O earth! Swallow thy water and, O sky! be cleared of clouds! And the water was made to subside. And the commandment was fulfilled. And it (the ship) came to rest upon (the mount) Al-Judi and it was said: A far removal for wrongdoing folk! (Ⅲ)
- And it was said, ´Earth, swallow thy waters; and, heaven, abate!´ And the waters subsided, the affair was accomplished, and the Ark settled on El-Judi, and it was said: ´Away with the people of the evildoers!´ (Ⅳ)
- Then the word went forth: "O earth! swallow up thy water, and O sky! Withhold (thy rain)!" and the water abated, and the matter was ended. The Ark rested on Mount Judi, and the word went forth: "Away with those who do wrong!" (Ⅵ)
11. 45  
وَنَادَىٰ نُوحٌ رَّبَّهُ فَقَالَ رَبِّ إِنَّ ابْنِي مِنْ أَهْلِي وَإِنَّ وَعْدَكَ الْحَقُّ وَأَنتَ أَحْكَمُ الْحَاكِمِينَ
- Wanada noohun rabbahu faqala rabbi inna ibnee min ahlee wainna waAAdaka alhaqqu waanta ahkamu alhakimeena (Ⅰ)
- And it was said, "O earth! Swallow down your water! And, O heaven! Withhold you rain!" And the water abated; and the matter was decided, and the Ark settled on Mount Judi, and the word went forth, "Removed are the evildoing people!" (Ⅱ)
- And Noah cried unto his Lord and said: My Lord! Lo! my son is of my household! Surely Thy promise is the truth and Thou are the Most Just of Judges. (Ⅲ)
- And Noah called unto his Lord, and said, ´O my Lord, my son is of my family, and Thy promise is surely the truth. Thou art the justest of those that judge.´ (Ⅳ)
- And Noah called upon his Lord, and said: "O my Lord! surely my son is of my family! and Thy promise is true, and Thou art the justest of Judges!" (Ⅵ)
11. 46  
قَالَ يَا نُوحُ إِنَّهُ لَيْسَ مِنْ أَهْلِكَ ۖ إِنَّهُ عَمَلٌ غَيْرُ صَالِحٍ ۖ فَلَا تَسْأَلْنِ مَا لَيْسَ لَكَ بِهِ عِلْمٌ ۖ إِنِّي أَعِظُكَ أَن تَكُونَ مِنَ الْجَاهِلِينَ
- Qala ya noohu innahu laysa min ahlika innahu AAamalun ghayru salihin fala tasalni ma laysa laka bihi AAilmun innee aAAithuka an takoona mina aljahileena (Ⅰ)
- And Noah called unto his Lord saying, "My Lord, verily, my son is of my family (people), and, surely Thy promise is true, and Thou art the most just of judges." (Ⅱ)
- He said: O Noah! Lo! he is not of thy household; lo! he is of evil conduct, so ask not of Me that whereof thou hast no knowledge. I admonish thee lest thou be among the ignorant. (Ⅲ)
- Said He, ´Noah, he is not of thy family; it is a deed not righteous. Do not ask of Me that whereof thou hast no knowledge. I admonish thee, lest thou shouldst be among the ignorant.´ (Ⅳ)
- He said: "O Noah! He is not of thy family: For his conduct is unrighteous. So ask not of Me that of which thou hast no knowledge! I give thee counsel, lest thou act like the ignorant!" (Ⅵ)
11. 47  
قَالَ رَبِّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ أَنْ أَسْأَلَكَ مَا لَيْسَ لِي بِهِ عِلْمٌ ۖ وَإِلَّا تَغْفِرْ لِي وَتَرْحَمْنِي أَكُن مِّنَ الْخَاسِرِينَ
- Qala rabbi innee aAAoothu bika an asalaka ma laysa lee bihi AAilmun wailla taghfir lee watarhamnee akun mina alkhasireena (Ⅰ)
- He said, "O Noah! He is not of your family (people); verily, because his conduct is unrighteous. Therefore ask Me not for that of which you have no knowledge. Verily, I give you counsel lest you should be among the ignorant." (Ⅱ)
- He said: My Lord! Lo! in Thee do I seek refuge (from the sin) that I should ask of Thee that whereof I have no knowledge. Unless Thou forgive me and have mercy on me I shall be among the lost. (Ⅲ)
- He said, ´My Lord, I take refuge with Thee, lest I should ask of Thee that whereof I have no knowledge; for if Thou forgivest me not, and hast not mercy on me, I shall be among the losers.´ (Ⅳ)
- Noah said: "O my Lord! I do seek refuge with Thee, lest I ask Thee for that of which I have no knowledge. And unless thou forgive me and have Mercy on me, I should indeed be lost!" (Ⅵ)
11. 48  
قِيلَ يَا نُوحُ اهْبِطْ بِسَلَامٍ مِّنَّا وَبَرَكَاتٍ عَلَيْكَ وَعَلَىٰ أُمَمٍ مِّمَّن مَّعَكَ ۚ وَأُمَمٌ سَنُمَتِّعُهُمْ ثُمَّ يَمَسُّهُم مِّنَّا عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ
- Qeela ya noohu ihbit bisalamin minna wabarakatin AAalayka waAAala omamin mimman maAAaka waomamun sanumattiAAuhum thumma yamassuhum minna AAathabun aleemun (Ⅰ)
- He said, "My Lord, verily, I seek refuge in Thee (from wrong) lest I ask Thee that whereof I have no knowledge. Unless Thou dost forgive me and have mercy on me, I shall be of those who are lost." (Ⅱ)
- It was said (unto him): O Noah! Go thou down (from the mountain) with peace from Us and blessings upon thee and some nations (that will spring) from those with thee. (There will be other) nations unto whom We shall give enjoyment a long while and then a painful doom from Us will overtake them. (Ⅲ)
- It was said, ´Noah, get thee down in peace from Us, and blessings upon thee and on the nations of those with thee; and nations -- We shall give them enjoyment, then there shall visit them from Us a painful chastisement.´ (Ⅳ)
- The word came: "O Noah! Come down (from the Ark) with peace from Us, and blessing on thee and on some of the peoples (who will spring) from those with thee: but (there will be other) peoples to whom We shall grant their pleasures (for a time), but in the end will a grievous penalty reach them from Us." (Ⅵ)
11. 49  
تِلْكَ مِنْ أَنبَاءِ الْغَيْبِ نُوحِيهَا إِلَيْكَ ۖ مَا كُنتَ تَعْلَمُهَا أَنتَ وَلَا قَوْمُكَ مِن قَبْلِ هَٰذَا ۖ فَاصْبِرْ ۖ إِنَّ الْعَاقِبَةَ لِلْمُتَّقِينَ
- Tilka min anbai alghaybi nooheeha ilayka ma kunta taAAlamuha anta wala qawmuka min qabli hatha faisbir inna alAAaqibata lilmuttaqeena (Ⅰ)
- The word came, "O Noah! Descend (from the Ark) in peace from Us, and blessings upon you and upon some of the communities who will descend from you; but other communities We shall grant enjoyment for a time and then there shall touch, them, from Us grievous woe." (Ⅱ)
- This is of the tidings of the Unseen which We inspire in thee (Muhammad). Thou thyself knewest it not, nor did thy folk (know it) before this. Then have patience. Lo! the sequel is for those who ward off (evil). (Ⅲ)
- (That is of the tiding´s of the Unseen, that We reveal to thee; thou didst not know it, neither thy people, before this. So be patient; the issue ultimate is to the godfearing.) (Ⅳ)
- Such are some of the stories of the unseen, which We have revealed unto thee: before this, neither thou nor thy people knew them. So persevere patiently: for the End is for those who are righteous. (Ⅵ)
