27. 0  
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
- Alhamdu lillahi rabbi alAAalameena (Ⅰ)
- The Beneficent, the Merciful, (Ⅱ)
- In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful. (Ⅲ)
- Praise belongs to God, the Lord of all Being, (Ⅳ)
- Praise be to Allah, the Cherisher and Sustainer of the worlds; (Ⅵ)
27. 1  
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ طس ۚ تِلْكَ آيَاتُ الْقُرْآنِ وَكِتَابٍ مُّبِينٍ
- Taseen tilka ayatu alqurani wakitabin mubeenin (Ⅰ)
- TA SIN. These are the verses of the Quran, a book that clarifies; (Ⅱ)
- Ta. Sin. These are revelations of the Qur'an and a Scripture that maketh plain; (Ⅲ)
- Ta Sin. Those are the signs of the Koran and a Manifest Book, (Ⅳ)
- These are verses of the Qur´an,-a book that makes (things) clear; (Ⅵ)
27. 2  
هُدًى وَبُشْرَىٰ لِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
- Hudan wabushra lilmumineena (Ⅰ)
- A guidance and glad tidings to the believers, (Ⅱ)
- A guidance and good tidings for believers (Ⅲ)
- a guidance, and good tidings unto the believers (Ⅳ)
- A guide: and glad tidings for the believers,- (Ⅵ)
27. 3  
الَّذِينَ يُقِيمُونَ الصَّلَاةَ وَيُؤْتُونَ الزَّكَاةَ وَهُم بِالْآخِرَةِ هُمْ يُوقِنُونَ
- Allatheena yuqeemoona alssalata wayutoona alzzakata wahum bialakhirati hum yooqinoona (Ⅰ)
- Who establish regular worship and give regular charity and are sure of the Hereafter. (Ⅱ)
- Who establish worship and pay the poor-due and are sure of the Hereafter. (Ⅲ)
- who perform the prayer, and pay the alms, and have sure faith in the Hereafter. (Ⅳ)
- Those who establish regular prayers and give in regular charity, and also have (full) assurance of the hereafter. (Ⅵ)
27. 4  
إِنَّ الَّذِينَ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِالْآخِرَةِ زَيَّنَّا لَهُمْ أَعْمَالَهُمْ فَهُمْ يَعْمَهُونَ
- Inna allatheena la yuminoona bialakhirati zayyanna lahum aAAmalahum fahum yaAAmahoona (Ⅰ)
- Lo!, As for those who believe not in the Hereafter, We have made for them their works fair-seeming, and they shall wander blindly on. (Ⅱ)
- Lo! as for those who believe not in the Hereafter, We have made their works fairseeming unto them so that they are all astray. (Ⅲ)
- Those who believe not in the Hereafter, We have decked out fair for them their works, and they wander blindly; (Ⅳ)
- As to those who believe not in the Hereafter, We have made their deeds pleasing in their eyes; and so they wander about in distraction. (Ⅵ)
27. 5  
أُولَٰئِكَ الَّذِينَ لَهُمْ سُوءُ الْعَذَابِ وَهُمْ فِي الْآخِرَةِ هُمُ الْأَخْسَرُونَ
- Olaika allatheena lahum sooo alAAathabi wahum fee alakhirati humu alakhsaroona (Ⅰ)
- These are they who shall have grievous torment, and theirs in the Hereafter shall be the greatest loss. (Ⅱ)
- Those are they for whom is the worst of punishment, and in the Hereafter they will be the greatest losers. (Ⅲ)
- those are they whom an evil chastisement awaits, and they will be the greatest losers in the Hereafter. (Ⅳ)
- Such are they for whom a grievous Penalty is (waiting); and in the Hereafter theirs will be the greatest loss. (Ⅵ)
27. 6  
وَإِنَّكَ لَتُلَقَّى الْقُرْآنَ مِن لَّدُنْ حَكِيمٍ عَلِيمٍ
- Wainnaka latulaqqa alqurana min ladun hakeemin AAaleemin (Ⅰ)
- Verily, you receive this Quran from the presence of the Wise, the All-knowing One. (Ⅱ)
- Lo! as for thee (Muhammad), thou verily receivest the Qur'an from the presence of One Wise, Aware. (Ⅲ)
- Thou receivest the Koran from One All-wise, All-knowing. (Ⅳ)
- As to thee, the Qur´an is bestowed upon thee from the presence of one who is wise and all-knowing. (Ⅵ)
27. 7  
إِذْ قَالَ مُوسَىٰ لِأَهْلِهِ إِنِّي آنَسْتُ نَارًا سَآتِيكُم مِّنْهَا بِخَبَرٍ أَوْ آتِيكُم بِشِهَابٍ قَبَسٍ لَّعَلَّكُمْ تَصْطَلُونَ
- Ith qala moosa liahlihi innee anastu naran saateekum minha bikhabarin aw ateekum bishihabin qabasin laAAallakum tastaloona (Ⅰ)
- (Remember) When Moses said to his people, "Verily, I perceive a fire, I will bring you there from news; or I will bring you a burning brand that you may be warmed." (Ⅱ)
- (Remember) when Moses said unto his household: Lo! I spy afar off a fire; I will bring you tidings thence, or bring to you a borrowed flame that ye may warm yourselves. (Ⅲ)
- When Moses said to his people ´I observe a fire, and will bring you news of it, or I will bring you a flaming brand, that haply you shall warm yourselves.´ (Ⅳ)
- Behold! Moses said to his family: "I perceive a fire; soon will I bring you from there some information, or I will bring you a burning brand to light our fuel, that ye may warm yourselves. (Ⅵ)
27. 8  
فَلَمَّا جَاءَهَا نُودِيَ أَن بُورِكَ مَن فِي النَّارِ وَمَنْ حَوْلَهَا وَسُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ
- Falamma jaaha noodiya an boorika man fee alnnari waman hawlaha wasubhana Allahi rabbi alAAalameena (Ⅰ)
- But when he reached it he was called, with the words, "Blessed is He Who is in the Fire, and He Who is round about it! And glorified be Allah, the Lord of the Worlds! (Ⅱ)
- But when he reached it, he was called, saying: Blessed is Whosoever is in the fire and Whosoever is round about it! And Glorified be Allah, the Lord of the Worlds! (Ⅲ)
- So, when he came to it, he was called: ´Blessed is he who is in the fire, and he who is about it. Glory be to God, the Lord of all Being! (Ⅳ)
- But when he came to the (fire), a voice was heard: "Blessed are those in the fire and those around: and glory to Allah, the Lord of the worlds. (Ⅵ)
27. 9  
يَا مُوسَىٰ إِنَّهُ أَنَا اللَّهُ الْعَزِيزُ الْحَكِيمُ
- Ya moosa innahu ana Allahu alAAazeezu alhakeemu (Ⅰ)
- "O Moses! Verily, I am Allah, the Mighty, the Wise; (Ⅱ)
- O Moses! Lo! it is I, Allah, the Mighty, the Wise. (Ⅲ)
- Moses, behold, it is I, God, the All-mighty, the All-wise. (Ⅳ)
- "O Moses! verily, I am Allah, the exalted in might, the wise!.... (Ⅵ)
27. 10  
وَأَلْقِ عَصَاكَ ۚ فَلَمَّا رَآهَا تَهْتَزُّ كَأَنَّهَا جَانٌّ وَلَّىٰ مُدْبِرًا وَلَمْ يُعَقِّبْ ۚ يَا مُوسَىٰ لَا تَخَفْ إِنِّي لَا يَخَافُ لَدَيَّ الْمُرْسَلُونَ
- Waalqi AAasaka falamma raaha tahtazzu kaannaha jannun walla mudbiran walam yuAAaqqib ya moosa la takhaf innee la yakhafu ladayya almursaloona (Ⅰ)
- "Throw down your staff!" But when he saw it writhing as though it was a snake, he turned fleeing, and looked not back. (But it was said to him) "O Moses! Fear not; verily, the messengers fear not in My presence. (Ⅱ)
- And throw down thy staff! But when he saw it writhing as it were a demon, he turned to flee headlong; (but it was said unto him): O Moses! Fear not! the emissaries fear not in My presence, (Ⅲ)
- Cast down thy staff.´ And when he saw it quivering like a serpent he turned about, retreating, and turned not back. ´Moses, fear not; surely the Envoys do not fear in My presence, (Ⅳ)
- "Now do thou throw thy rod!" But when he saw it moving (of its own accord)as if it had been a snake, he turned back in retreat, and retraced not his steps: "O Moses!" (it was said), "Fear not: truly, in My presence, those called as messengers have no fear,- (Ⅵ)
27. 11  
إِلَّا مَن ظَلَمَ ثُمَّ بَدَّلَ حُسْنًا بَعْدَ سُوءٍ فَإِنِّي غَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ
- Illa man thalama thumma baddala husnan baAAda sooin fainnee ghafoorun raheemun (Ⅰ)
- Save only those who have done wrong and then substitute good for evil; and, verily, I am Forgiving, Merciful! (Ⅱ)
- Save him who hath done wrong and afterward hath changed evil for good. And lo! I am Forgiving, Merciful. (Ⅲ)
- save him who has done evil, then; after evil, has changed into good; All-forgiving am I, All-compassionate. (Ⅳ)
- "But if any have done wrong and have thereafter substituted good to take the place of evil, truly, I am Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful. (Ⅵ)
27. 12  
وَأَدْخِلْ يَدَكَ فِي جَيْبِكَ تَخْرُجْ بَيْضَاءَ مِنْ غَيْرِ سُوءٍ ۖ فِي تِسْعِ آيَاتٍ إِلَىٰ فِرْعَوْنَ وَقَوْمِهِ ۚ إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا قَوْمًا فَاسِقِينَ
- Waadkhil yadaka fee jaybika takhruj baydaa min ghayri sooin fee tisAAi ayatin ila firAAawna waqawmihi innahum kanoo qawman fasiqeena (Ⅰ)
- "Put your hand in they bosom, it shall come forth white without stain (or hurt); one of nine signs to Pharaoh and his people; verily, they are a rebellious, transgressing people." (Ⅱ)
- And put thy hand into the bosom of thy robe, it will come forth white but unhurt. (This will be one) among nine tokens unto Pharaoh and his people Lo! they were ever evil-living folk. (Ⅲ)
- Thrust thy hand in thy bosom and it will come forth white without evil-among nine signs to Pharaoh and his people; they are an ungodly people.´ (Ⅳ)
- "Now put thy hand into thy bosom, and it will come forth white without stain (or harm): (these are) among the nine Signs (thou wilt take) to Pharaoh and his people: for they are a people rebellious in transgression." (Ⅵ)
27. 13  
فَلَمَّا جَاءَتْهُمْ آيَاتُنَا مُبْصِرَةً قَالُوا هَٰذَا سِحْرٌ مُّبِينٌ
- Falamma jaathum ayatuna mubsiratan qaloo hatha sihrun mubeenun (Ⅰ)
- But when Our signs came to them visibly (that should have opened their eyes), they said, "This is obvious sorcery!" (Ⅱ)
- But when Our tokens came unto them, plain to see, they said: This is mere magic, (Ⅲ)
- But when Our signs came to them visibly, they said, ´This is a manifest sorcery´; (Ⅳ)
- But when Our Signs came to them, that should have opened their eyes, they said: "This is sorcery manifest!" (Ⅵ)
27. 14  
وَجَحَدُوا بِهَا وَاسْتَيْقَنَتْهَا أَنفُسُهُمْ ظُلْمًا وَعُلُوًّا ۚ فَانظُرْ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَاقِبَةُ الْمُفْسِدِينَ
- Wajahadoo biha waistayqanatha anfusuhum thulman waAAuluwwan faonthur kayfa kana AAaqibatu almufsideena (Ⅰ)
- And they denied them, though their souls acknowledged them, for spite and arrogance; but behold the nature of the consequences for the evildoers (transgressors)! (Ⅱ)
- And they denied them, though their souls acknowledged them, for spite and arrogance. Then see the nature of the consequence for the wrong-doers! (Ⅲ)
- and they denied them, though their souls acknowledged them, wrongfully and out of pride. Behold, how was the end of the workers of corruption! (Ⅳ)
- And they rejected those Signs in iniquity and arrogance, though their souls were convinced thereof: so see what was the end of those who acted corruptly! (Ⅵ)
27. 15  
وَلَقَدْ آتَيْنَا دَاوُودَ وَسُلَيْمَانَ عِلْمًا ۖ وَقَالَا الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي فَضَّلَنَا عَلَىٰ كَثِيرٍ مِّنْ عِبَادِهِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ
- Walaqad atayna dawooda wasulaymana AAilman waqala alhamdu lillahi allathee faddalana AAala katheerin min AAibadihi almumineena (Ⅰ)
- And We gave David and Solomon knowledge; and they both said, "Praise belongs to Allah, Who hath favoured us over many of His believing servants." (Ⅱ)
- And We verily gave knowledge unto David and Solomon, and they said: Praise be to Allah, Who hath preferred us above many of His believing slaves! (Ⅲ)
- And We gave David and Solomon knowledge and they said, ´Praise belongs to God who has preferred us over many of His believing servants.´ (Ⅳ)
- We gave (in the past) knowledge to David and Solomon: And they both said: "Praise be to Allah, Who has favoured us above many of his servants who believe!" (Ⅵ)
27. 16  
وَوَرِثَ سُلَيْمَانُ دَاوُودَ ۖ وَقَالَ يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ عُلِّمْنَا مَنطِقَ الطَّيْرِ وَأُوتِينَا مِن كُلِّ شَيْءٍ ۖ إِنَّ هَٰذَا لَهُوَ الْفَضْلُ الْمُبِينُ
- Wawaritha sulaymanu dawooda waqala ya ayyuha alnnasu AAullimna mantiqa alttayri waooteena min kulli shayin inna hatha lahuwa alfadlu almubeenu (Ⅰ)
- And Solomon was David´s heir. He said, "O you people! We have been taught the language of birds, and we have been given abundance; verily, this is manifest grace!" (Ⅱ)
- And Solomon was David's heir. And he said: O mankind! Lo! we have been taught the language of birds, and have been given (abundance) of all things. This surely is evident favour. (Ⅲ)
- And Solomon was David´s heir, and he said, ´Men, we have been taught the speech of the birds, and we have been given of everything; surely this is indeed the manifest bounty.´ (Ⅳ)
- And Solomon was David´s heir. He said: "O ye people! We have been taught the speech of birds, and on us has been bestowed (a little) of all things: this is indeed Grace manifest (from Allah.)" (Ⅵ)
27. 17  
وَحُشِرَ لِسُلَيْمَانَ جُنُودُهُ مِنَ الْجِنِّ وَالْإِنسِ وَالطَّيْرِ فَهُمْ يُوزَعُونَ
- Wahushira lisulaymana junooduhu mina aljinni waalinsi waalttayri fahum yoozaAAoona (Ⅰ)
- And assembled for Solomon were his hosts of the Jinn and of mankind, and birds, and they were marshalled in battle order; (Ⅱ)
- And there were gathered together unto Solomon his armies of the jinn and humankind, and of the birds, and they were set in battle order; (Ⅲ)
- And his hosts were mustered to Solomon, jinn, men and birds, duly disposed; (Ⅳ)
- And before Solomon were marshalled his hosts,- of Jinns and men and birds, and they were all kept in order and ranks. (Ⅵ)
27. 18  
حَتَّىٰ إِذَا أَتَوْا عَلَىٰ وَادِ النَّمْلِ قَالَتْ نَمْلَةٌ يَا أَيُّهَا النَّمْلُ ادْخُلُوا مَسَاكِنَكُمْ لَا يَحْطِمَنَّكُمْ سُلَيْمَانُ وَجُنُودُهُ وَهُمْ لَا يَشْعُرُونَ
- Hatta itha ataw AAala wadi alnnamli qalat namlatun ya ayyuha alnnamlu odkhuloo masakinakum la yahtimannakum sulaymanu wajunooduhu wahum la yashAAuroona (Ⅰ)
- Until, when they came upon the Valley of the Ants, an ant said, "O you ants! Enter your dwellings, that Solomon and his hosts crush you not unperceiving (unknowing)." (Ⅱ)
- Till, when they reached the Valley of the Ants, an ant exclaimed: O ants! Enter your dwellings lest Solomon and his armies crush you, unperceiving. (Ⅲ)
- till, when they came on the Valley of Ants, an ant said, ´Ants, enter your dwelling-places, lest Solomon and his hosts crush you, being unaware!´ (Ⅳ)
- At length, when they came to a (lowly) valley of ants, one of the ants said: "O ye ants, get into your habitations, lest Solomon and his hosts crush you (under foot) without knowing it." (Ⅵ)
27. 19  
فَتَبَسَّمَ ضَاحِكًا مِّن قَوْلِهَا وَقَالَ رَبِّ أَوْزِعْنِي أَنْ أَشْكُرَ نِعْمَتَكَ الَّتِي أَنْعَمْتَ عَلَيَّ وَعَلَىٰ وَالِدَيَّ وَأَنْ أَعْمَلَ صَالِحًا تَرْضَاهُ وَأَدْخِلْنِي بِرَحْمَتِكَ فِي عِبَادِكَ الصَّالِحِينَ
- Fatabassama dahikan min qawliha waqala rabbi awziAAnee an ashkura niAAmataka allatee anAAamta AAalayya waAAala walidayya waan aAAmala salihan tardahu waadkhilnee birahmatika fee AAibadika alssaliheena (Ⅰ)
- And he (Solomon) smiled, laughing at her speech, and said, "O Lord! Excite (cause) me to be thankful for Thy favour, wherewith Thou hast favoured me and my parents, and to do righteousness which may please Thee; and include me by Thy Grace amongst Thy righteous servants!" (Ⅱ)
- And (Solomon) smiled, laughing at her speech, and said: My Lord, arouse me to be thankful for Thy favour wherewith Thou hast favoured me and my parents, and to do good that shall be pleasing unto Thee, and include me in (the number of) Thy righteous slaves. (Ⅲ)
- But he smiled, laughing at its words, and he said, ´My Lord, dispose me that I may be thankful for Thy blessing wherewith Thou hast blessed me and my father and mother, and that I may do righteousness well-pleasing to Thee; and do Thou admit me, by Thy mercy, amongst Thy righteous servants.´ (Ⅳ)
- So he smiled, amused at her speech; and he said: "O my Lord! so order me that I may be grateful for Thy favours, which thou hast bestowed on me and on my parents, and that I may work the righteousness that will please Thee: And admit me, by Thy Grace, to the ranks of Thy righteous Servants." (Ⅵ)
27. 20  
وَتَفَقَّدَ الطَّيْرَ فَقَالَ مَا لِيَ لَا أَرَى الْهُدْهُدَ أَمْ كَانَ مِنَ الْغَائِبِينَ
- Watafaqqada alttayra faqala ma liya la ara alhudhuda am kana mina alghaibeena (Ⅰ)
- And he reviewed the birds, and said, "How is it that I see not the hoopoe (perhaps used as a spy, messenger or observer or symbolizing one)? Is he then amongst the absent? (Ⅱ)
- And he sought among the birds and said: How is it that I see not the hoopoe, or is he among the absent ? (Ⅲ)
- And he reviewed the birds; then he said, ´How is it with me, that I do not see the hoopoe? Or is he among the absent? (Ⅳ)
- And he took a muster of the Birds; and he said: "Why is it I see not the Hoopoe? Or is he among the absentees? (Ⅵ)
27. 21  
لَأُعَذِّبَنَّهُ عَذَابًا شَدِيدًا أَوْ لَأَذْبَحَنَّهُ أَوْ لَيَأْتِيَنِّي بِسُلْطَانٍ مُّبِينٍ
- LaoAAaththibannahu AAathaban shadeedan aw laathbahannahu aw layatiyannee bisultanin mubeenin (Ⅰ)
- I will surely punish him with a severe penalty; or I will slay him unless he brings me clear authority (or reason for his absence)." (Ⅱ)
- I verily will punish him with hard punishment or I verily will slay him, or he verily shall bring me a plain excuse. (Ⅲ)
- Assuredly I will chastise him with a terrible chastisement, or I will slaughter him, or he bring me a clear authority.´ (Ⅳ)
- "I will certainly punish him with a severe penalty, or execute him, unless he bring me a clear reason (for absence)." (Ⅵ)
27. 22  
فَمَكَثَ غَيْرَ بَعِيدٍ فَقَالَ أَحَطتُ بِمَا لَمْ تُحِطْ بِهِ وَجِئْتُكَ مِن سَبَإٍ بِنَبَإٍ يَقِينٍ
- Famakatha ghayra baAAeedin faqala ahattu bima lam tuhit bihi wajituka min sabain binabain yaqeenin (Ⅰ)
- But he was not long in coming, and said, "I have compassed (covered territory or found out) what you compassed (covered or understood) not; for I come unto you from Sheba with sure information: (Ⅱ)
- But he was not long in coming, and he said: I have found out (a thing) that thou apprehendest not, and I come unto thee from Sheba with sure tidings. (Ⅲ)
- But he tarried not long, and said, ´I have comprehended that which thou hast not comprehended, and I have come from Sheba to thee with a sure tiding. (Ⅳ)
- But the Hoopoe tarried not far: he (came up and) said: "I have compassed (territory) which thou hast not compassed, and I have come to thee from Saba with tidings true. (Ⅵ)
27. 23  
إِنِّي وَجَدتُّ امْرَأَةً تَمْلِكُهُمْ وَأُوتِيَتْ مِن كُلِّ شَيْءٍ وَلَهَا عَرْشٌ عَظِيمٌ
- Innee wajadtu imraatan tamlikuhum waootiyat min kulli shayin walaha AAarshun AAatheemun (Ⅰ)
- "Verily, I found a woman ruling over them, and she was given abundance of all things, and she had a mighty throne; (Ⅱ)
- Lo! I found a woman ruling over them, and she hath been given (abundance) of all things, and hers is a mighty throne. (Ⅲ)
- I found a woman ruling over them, and she has been given of everything, and she possesses a mighty throne. (Ⅳ)
- "I found (there) a woman ruling over them and provided with every requisite; and she has a magnificent throne. (Ⅵ)
27. 24  
وَجَدتُّهَا وَقَوْمَهَا يَسْجُدُونَ لِلشَّمْسِ مِن دُونِ اللَّهِ وَزَيَّنَ لَهُمُ الشَّيْطَانُ أَعْمَالَهُمْ فَصَدَّهُمْ عَنِ السَّبِيلِ فَهُمْ لَا يَهْتَدُونَ
- Wajadtuha waqawmaha yasjudoona lilshshamsi min dooni Allahi wazayyana lahumu alshshaytanu aAAmalahum fasaddahum AAani alssabeeli fahum la yahtadoona (Ⅰ)
- "And I found her and her people worshipping the sun instead of Allah, for Satan had made their works fair-seeming to them, and turned them away from the Way (of Truth), so that they are not guided right. (Ⅱ)
- I found her and her people worshipping the sun instead of Allah; and Satan maketh their works fairseeming unto them, and debarreth them from the way (of Truth), so that they go not aright; (Ⅲ)
- I found her and her people prostrating to the sun, apart from God; Satan has decked out fair their deeds to them and he has barred them from the way, and therefore they are not guided, (Ⅳ)
- "I found her and her people worshipping the sun besides Allah: Satan has made their deeds seem pleasing in their eyes, and has kept them away from the Path,- so they receive no guidance,- (Ⅵ)
27. 25  
أَلَّا يَسْجُدُوا لِلَّهِ الَّذِي يُخْرِجُ الْخَبْءَ فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ وَيَعْلَمُ مَا تُخْفُونَ وَمَا تُعْلِنُونَ
- Alla yasjudoo lillahi allathee yukhriju alkhabaa fee alssamawati waalardi wayaAAlamu ma tukhfoona wama tuAAlinoona (Ⅰ)
- "So they will not worship Allah, Who brings forth the secrets in the heavens and the earth, and knows what they hide and what they manifest. (Ⅱ)
- So that they worship not Allah, Who bringeth forth the hidden in the heavens and the earth, and knoweth what ye hide and what ye proclaim, (Ⅲ)
- so that they prostrate not themselves to God, who brings forth what is hidden in the heavens and earth; and He knows what you conceal and what you publish. (Ⅳ)
- "(Kept them away from the Path), that they should not worship Allah, Who brings to light what is hidden in the heavens and the earth, and knows what ye hide and what ye reveal. (Ⅵ)
27. 26  
اللَّهُ لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ رَبُّ الْعَرْشِ الْعَظِيمِ ۩
- Allahu la ilaha illa huwa rabbu alAAarshi alAAatheemi (Ⅰ)
- "Allah, there is no God but He, the Lord of the Mighty Throne!" (Ⅱ)
- Allah; there is no God save Him, the Lord of the Tremendous Throne. (Ⅲ)
- God: there is no god but He, the Lord of the Mighty Throne.´ (Ⅳ)
- "Allah!- there is no god but He!- Lord of the Throne Supreme!" (Ⅵ)
27. 27  
۞ قَالَ سَنَنظُرُ أَصَدَقْتَ أَمْ كُنتَ مِنَ الْكَاذِبِينَ
- Qala sananthuru asadaqta am kunta mina alkathibeena (Ⅰ)
- Said he (Solomon), "We will see whether you have told the truth, or whether you are of those who lie. (Ⅱ)
- (Solomon) said: We shall see whether thou speakest truth or whether thou art of the liars. (Ⅲ)
- Said he, ´Now We will see whether thou hast spoken truly, or whether thou art amongst those that lie. (Ⅳ)
- (Solomon) said: "Soon shall we see whether thou hast told the truth or lied! (Ⅵ)
27. 28  
اذْهَب بِّكِتَابِي هَٰذَا فَأَلْقِهْ إِلَيْهِمْ ثُمَّ تَوَلَّ عَنْهُمْ فَانظُرْ مَاذَا يَرْجِعُونَ
- Ithhab bikitabee hatha faalqih ilayhim thumma tawalla AAanhum faonthur matha yarjiAAoona (Ⅰ)
- "Go with this my letter and throw it before them, then turn away from them, and see what answer they return." (Ⅱ)
- Go with this my letter and throw it down unto them; then turn away and see what (answer) they return, (Ⅲ)
- Take this letter of mine, and cast it unto them, then turn back from them and see what they shall return ´ (Ⅳ)
- "Go thou, with this letter of mine, and deliver it to them: then draw back from them, and (wait to) see what answer they return"... (Ⅵ)
27. 29  
قَالَتْ يَا أَيُّهَا الْمَلَأُ إِنِّي أُلْقِيَ إِلَيَّ كِتَابٌ كَرِيمٌ
- Qalat ya ayyuha almalao innee olqiya ilayya kitabun kareemun (Ⅰ)
- Said she (the Queen of Sheba after she had received the letter), "O you chiefs! Verily, a noble letter has been thrown before me. (Ⅱ)
- (The Queen of Sheba) said (when she received the letter): O chieftains! Lo! there hath been thrown unto me a noble letter. (Ⅲ)
- She said, ´O Council, see, a letter honourable has been cast unto me. (Ⅳ)
- (The queen) said: "Ye chiefs! here is delivered to me - a letter worthy of respect. (Ⅵ)
27. 30  
إِنَّهُ مِن سُلَيْمَانَ وَإِنَّهُ بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
- Innahu min sulaymana wainnahu bismi Allahi alrrahmani alrraheemi (Ⅰ)
- "It is from Solomon, and, verily, it is as follows, ´In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful. (Ⅱ)
- Lo! it is from Solomon, and lo! it is: In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful; (Ⅲ)
- It is from Solomon, and it is "In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate. (Ⅳ)
- "It is from Solomon, and is (as follows): ´In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful: (Ⅵ)
27. 31  
أَلَّا تَعْلُوا عَلَيَّ وَأْتُونِي مُسْلِمِينَ
- Alla taAAloo AAalayya watoonee muslimeena (Ⅰ)
- "Exalt not yourself against me, but come to me as those who Surrender (unto Allah i.e. as a Muslim)" (Ⅱ)
- Exalt not yourselves against me, but come unto me as those who surrender. (Ⅲ)
- Rise not up against me, but come to me in surrender." ´ (Ⅳ)
- "´Be ye not arrogant against me, but come to me in submission (to the true Religion).´" (Ⅵ)
27. 32  
قَالَتْ يَا أَيُّهَا الْمَلَأُ أَفْتُونِي فِي أَمْرِي مَا كُنتُ قَاطِعَةً أَمْرًا حَتَّىٰ تَشْهَدُونِ
- Qalat ya ayyuha almalao aftoonee fee amree ma kuntu qatiAAatan amran hatta tashhadoona (Ⅰ)
- She said, "You chiefs! Pronounce for me in my affair (or advise me). I never decide an affair until you testify for me." (Ⅱ)
- She said: O chieftains! Pronounce for me in my case. I decide no case till ye are present with me. (Ⅲ)
- She said, ´O Council, pronounce to me concerning my affair; I am not used to decide an affair until you bear me witness.´ (Ⅳ)
- She said: "Ye chiefs! advise me in (this) my affair: no affair have I decided except in your presence." (Ⅵ)
27. 33  
قَالُوا نَحْنُ أُولُو قُوَّةٍ وَأُولُو بَأْسٍ شَدِيدٍ وَالْأَمْرُ إِلَيْكِ فَانظُرِي مَاذَا تَأْمُرِينَ
- Qaloo nahnu oloo quwwatin waoloo basin shadeedin waalamru ilayki faonthuree matha tamureena (Ⅰ)
- They said, "We are endowed with strength, and endowed with martial prowess; but the command is yours, so consider what you will command." (Ⅱ)
- They said: We are lords of might and lords of great prowess, but it is for thee to command; so consider what thou wilt command. (Ⅲ)
- They said, ´We possess force and we possess great might. The affair rests with thee; so consider what thou wilt command.´ (Ⅳ)
- They said: "We are endued with strength, and given to vehement war: but the command is with thee; so consider what thou wilt command." (Ⅵ)
27. 34  
قَالَتْ إِنَّ الْمُلُوكَ إِذَا دَخَلُوا قَرْيَةً أَفْسَدُوهَا وَجَعَلُوا أَعِزَّةَ أَهْلِهَا أَذِلَّةً ۖ وَكَذَٰلِكَ يَفْعَلُونَ
- Qalat inna almulooka itha dakhaloo qaryatan afsadooha wajaAAaloo aAAizzata ahliha athillatan wakathalika yafAAaloona (Ⅰ)
- She said, "Verily, kings when they enter a city, despoil it, and demean the mighty ones of its people; thus they will do. (Ⅱ)
- She said: Lo! kings, when they enter a township, ruin it and make the honour of its people shame. Thus will they do. (Ⅲ)
- She said, ´Kings, when they enter a city, disorder it and make the mighty ones of its inhabitants abased. Even so they too will do. (Ⅳ)
- She said: "Kings, when they enter a country, despoil it, and make the noblest of its people its meanest thus do they behave. (Ⅵ)
27. 35  
وَإِنِّي مُرْسِلَةٌ إِلَيْهِم بِهَدِيَّةٍ فَنَاظِرَةٌ بِمَ يَرْجِعُ الْمُرْسَلُونَ
- Wainnee mursilatun ilayhim bihadiyyatin fanathiratun bima yarjiAAu almursaloona (Ⅰ)
- "But, verily, I am going to send to them a gift, and will wait to see with what answer the messengers return." (Ⅱ)
- But lo! I am going to send a present unto them, and to see with what (answer) the messengers return. (Ⅲ)
- Now I will send them a present, and see what the envoys bring back.´ (Ⅳ)
- "But I am going to send him a present, and (wait) to see with what (answer) return (my) ambassadors." (Ⅵ)
27. 36  
فَلَمَّا جَاءَ سُلَيْمَانَ قَالَ أَتُمِدُّونَنِ بِمَالٍ فَمَا آتَانِيَ اللَّهُ خَيْرٌ مِّمَّا آتَاكُم بَلْ أَنتُم بِهَدِيَّتِكُمْ تَفْرَحُونَ
- Falamma jaa sulaymana qala atumiddoonani bimalin fama ataniya Allahu khayrun mimma atakum bal antum bihadiyyatikum tafrahoona (Ⅰ)
- And when the envoy came to Solomon, he (Solomon) said, "Do you offer me wealth, when what Allah has given me is better than what He has given to you? Nay, it is you (not I) who rejoice (exult) in your gifts. (Ⅱ)
- So when (the envoy) came unto Solomon, (the King) said: What! Would ye help me with wealth ? But that which Allah hath given me is better than that which He hath given you. Nay it is ye (and not I) who exult in your gift. (Ⅲ)
- But when he came to Solomon he said, ´What, would you succour me with wealth, and what God gave me is better than what He has given you? Nay, but instead you rejoice in your gift! (Ⅳ)
- Now when (the embassy) came to Solomon, he said: "Will ye give me abundance in wealth? But that which Allah has given me is better than that which He has given you! Nay it is ye who rejoice in your gift! (Ⅵ)
27. 37  
ارْجِعْ إِلَيْهِمْ فَلَنَأْتِيَنَّهُم بِجُنُودٍ لَّا قِبَلَ لَهُم بِهَا وَلَنُخْرِجَنَّهُم مِّنْهَا أَذِلَّةً وَهُمْ صَاغِرُونَ
- IrjiAA ilayhim falanatiyannahum bijunoodin la qibala lahum biha walanukhrijannahum minha athillatan wahum saghiroona (Ⅰ)
- "Return unto them, for we will surely come to them with hosts which they cannot resist; and we will surely drive them out thence with shame and they will be humbled." (Ⅱ)
- Return unto them. We verily shall come unto them with hosts that they cannot resist, and we shall drive them out from thence with shame, and they will be abased. (Ⅲ)
- Return thou to them; we shall assuredly come against them with hosts they have not power to resist, and we shall expel them from there, abased and utterly humbled.´ (Ⅳ)
- "Go back to them, and be sure we shall come to them with such hosts as they will never be able to meet: We shall expel them from there in disgrace, and they will feel humbled (indeed)." (Ⅵ)
27. 38  
قَالَ يَا أَيُّهَا الْمَلَأُ أَيُّكُمْ يَأْتِينِي بِعَرْشِهَا قَبْلَ أَن يَأْتُونِي مُسْلِمِينَ
- Qala ya ayyuha almalao ayyukum yateenee biAAarshiha qabla an yatoonee muslimeena (Ⅰ)
- Said he, "O you chiefs! Which of you will bring me her throne before they come unto me surrendering?" (Ⅱ)
- He said: O chiefs! Which of you will bring me her throne before they come unto me, surrendering ? (Ⅲ)
- He said, ´O Council, which one of you will bring me her throne, before they come to me in surrender?´ (Ⅳ)
- He said (to his own men): "Ye chiefs! which of you can bring me her throne before they come to me in submission?" (Ⅵ)
27. 39  
قَالَ عِفْرِيتٌ مِّنَ الْجِنِّ أَنَا آتِيكَ بِهِ قَبْلَ أَن تَقُومَ مِن مَّقَامِكَ ۖ وَإِنِّي عَلَيْهِ لَقَوِيٌّ أَمِينٌ
- Qala AAifreetun mina aljinni ana ateeka bihi qabla an taqooma min maqamika wainne AAalayhi laqawiyyun ameenun (Ⅰ)
- Said an Ifrit (a powerful and cunning demon) of the Jinn, "I will bring it you before you can rise up from your chair of council, for I am strong for such work, and trustworthy." (Ⅱ)
- A stalwart of the jinn said: I will bring it thee before thou canst rise from thy place. Lo! I verily am strong and trusty for such work. (Ⅲ)
- An efreet of the jinns said, ´I will bring it to thee, before thou risest from thy place; I have strength for it (Ⅳ)
- Said an ´Ifrit, of the Jinns: "I will bring it to thee before thou rise from thy council: indeed I have full strength for the purpose, and may be trusted." (Ⅵ)
27. 40  
قَالَ الَّذِي عِندَهُ عِلْمٌ مِّنَ الْكِتَابِ أَنَا آتِيكَ بِهِ قَبْلَ أَن يَرْتَدَّ إِلَيْكَ طَرْفُكَ ۚ فَلَمَّا رَآهُ مُسْتَقِرًّا عِندَهُ قَالَ هَٰذَا مِن فَضْلِ رَبِّي لِيَبْلُوَنِي أَأَشْكُرُ أَمْ أَكْفُرُ ۖ وَمَن شَكَرَ فَإِنَّمَا يَشْكُرُ لِنَفْسِهِ ۖ وَمَن كَفَرَ فَإِنَّ رَبِّي غَنِيٌّ كَرِيمٌ
- Qala allathee AAindahu AAilmun mina alkitabi ana ateeka bihi qabla an yartadda ilayka tarfuka falamma raahu mustaqirran AAindahu qala hatha min fadli rabbee liyabluwanee aashkuru am akfuru waman shakara fainnama yashkuru linafsihi waman kafara fainna rabbee ghaniyyun kareemun (Ⅰ)
- He who had the knowledge of the Book said, "I will bring it to you before your glance can turn." And when he saw it set down beside him, he (Solomon) said, "This is of my Lord´s grace that He may try me whether I give thanks or am ungrateful. Whoever gives thanks, gives thanks for the good of his own soul; but he who is ungrateful - truly, my Lord is rich (independent, free of all needs) and Bountiful." (Ⅱ)
- One with whom was knowledge of the Scripture said: I will bring it thee before thy gaze returneth unto thee. And when he saw it set in his presence, (Solomon) said: This is of the bounty of my Lord, that He may try me whether I give thanks or am ungrateful. Whosoever giveth thanks he only giveth thanks for (the good of) his own soul; and whosoever is ungrateful (is ungrateful only to his own soul's hurt). For lo! my Lord is Absolute in independence, Bountiful. (Ⅲ)
- and I am trusty.´ Said he who possessed knowledge of the Book, ´I will bring it to thee, before ever thy glance returns to thee.´ Then, when he saw it settled before him, he said, ´This is of my Lord´s bounty that He may try me, whether I am thankful or ungrateful. Whosoever gives thanks gives thanks only for his own soul´s good, and whosoever is ungrateful -- my Lord is surely All-sufficient, All-generous.´ (Ⅳ)
- Said one who had knowledge of the Book: "I will bring it to thee within the twinkling of an eye!" Then when (Solomon) saw it placed firmly before him, he said: "This is by the Grace of my Lord!- to test me whether I am grateful or ungrateful! and if any is grateful, truly his gratitude is (a gain) for his own soul; but if any is ungrateful, truly my Lord is Free of all Needs, Supreme in Honour !" (Ⅵ)
27. 41  
قَالَ نَكِّرُوا لَهَا عَرْشَهَا نَنظُرْ أَتَهْتَدِي أَمْ تَكُونُ مِنَ الَّذِينَ لَا يَهْتَدُونَ
- Qala nakkiroo laha AAarshaha nanthur atahtadee am takoonu mina allatheena la yahtadoona (Ⅰ)
- Said he, "Disguise for her throne; let us see whether she is guided, or whether she is of those who receive no guidance." (Ⅱ)
- He said: Disguise her throne for her that we may see whether she will go aright or be of those not rightly guided. (Ⅲ)
- He said, ´Disguise her throne for her, and we shall behold whether she is guided or if she is of those that are not guided.´ (Ⅳ)
- He said: "Transform her throne out of all recognition by her: let us see whether she is guided (to the truth) or is one of those who receive no guidance." (Ⅵ)
27. 42  
فَلَمَّا جَاءَتْ قِيلَ أَهَٰكَذَا عَرْشُكِ ۖ قَالَتْ كَأَنَّهُ هُوَ ۚ وَأُوتِينَا الْعِلْمَ مِن قَبْلِهَا وَكُنَّا مُسْلِمِينَ
- Falamma jaat qeela ahakatha AAarshuki qalat kaannahu huwa waooteena alAAilma min qabliha wakunna muslimeena (Ⅰ)
- And when she came it was said unto her, "Is this your throne?" She said, "It was just like this (it could be the one)." and Solomon said, "We were given knowledge before her, and we had Surrendered (to Allah). (Ⅱ)
- So, when she came, it was said (unto her): Is thy throne like this ? She said: (It is) as though it were the very one. And (Solomon said): We were given the knowledge before her and we had surrendered (to Allah). (Ⅲ)
- So, when she came, it was said, ´Is thy throne like this?´ She said, ´It seems the same.´ ´And we were given the knowledge before her, and we were in surrender, (Ⅳ)
- So when she arrived, she was asked, "Is this thy throne?" She said, "It was just like this; and knowledge was bestowed on us in advance of this, and we have submitted to Allah (in Islam)." (Ⅵ)
27. 43  
وَصَدَّهَا مَا كَانَت تَّعْبُدُ مِن دُونِ اللَّهِ ۖ إِنَّهَا كَانَتْ مِن قَوْمٍ كَافِرِينَ
- Wasaddaha ma kanat taAAbudu min dooni Allahi innaha kanat min qawmin kafireena (Ⅰ)
- "But that which she worshipped beside Allah diverted her; for she came of people who had no faith." (Ⅱ)
- And (all) that she was wont to worship instead of Allah hindered her, for she came of disbelieving folk. (Ⅲ)
- but that she served, apart from God, barred her, for she was of a people of unbelievers.´ (Ⅳ)
- And he diverted her from the worship of others besides Allah: for she was (sprung) of a people that had no faith. (Ⅵ)
27. 44  
قِيلَ لَهَا ادْخُلِي الصَّرْحَ ۖ فَلَمَّا رَأَتْهُ حَسِبَتْهُ لُجَّةً وَكَشَفَتْ عَن سَاقَيْهَا ۚ قَالَ إِنَّهُ صَرْحٌ مُّمَرَّدٌ مِّن قَوَارِيرَ ۗ قَالَتْ رَبِّ إِنِّي ظَلَمْتُ نَفْسِي وَأَسْلَمْتُ مَعَ سُلَيْمَانَ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ
- Qeela laha odkhulee alssarha falamma raathu hasibathu lujjatan wakashafat AAan saqayha qala innahu sarhun mumarradun min qawareera qalat rabbi innee thalamtu nafsee waaslamtu maAAa sulaymana lillahi rabbi alAAalameena (Ⅰ)
- And it was said to her, "Enter the court." And when she saw it, she thought it was a pool, and she bared her legs (tucked up her skirt to go into it). Said he, "Verily, it is a court paved with glass!" Said she, "My Lord! Verily, I have wronged my soul, but I do now Surrender ( i.e. in Islam) with Solomon to the Lord of the Worlds!" (Ⅱ)
- It was said unto her: Enter the hall. And when she saw it she deemed it a pool and bared her legs. (Solomon) said: Lo! it is a hall, made smooth, of glass. She said: My Lord! Lo! I have wronged myself, and I surrender with Solomon unto Allah, the Lord of the Worlds. (Ⅲ)
- It was said to her, ´Enter the pavilion.´ But when she saw it, she supposed it was a spreading water, and she bared her legs. He said, ´It is a pavilion smoothed of crystal. She said, ´My Lord, indeed I have wronged myself, and I surrender with Solomon to God, the Lord of all Being.´ (Ⅳ)
- She was asked to enter the lofty Palace: but when she saw it, she thought it was a lake of water, and she (tucked up her skirts), uncovering her legs. He said: "This is but a palace paved smooth with slabs of glass." She said: "O my Lord! I have indeed wronged my soul: I do (now) submit (in Islam), with Solomon, to the Lord of the Worlds." (Ⅵ)
27. 45  
وَلَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَا إِلَىٰ ثَمُودَ أَخَاهُمْ صَالِحًا أَنِ اعْبُدُوا اللَّهَ فَإِذَا هُمْ فَرِيقَانِ يَخْتَصِمُونَ
- Walaqad arsalna ila thamooda akhahum salihan ani oAAbudoo Allaha faitha hum fareeqani yakhtasimoona (Ⅰ)
- And We sent unto Thamud their brother Salih, saying "Serve Allah;" but behold! they became two parties quarrelling! (Ⅱ)
- And We verily sent unto Thamud their brother Salih, saying: Worship Allah. And lo! they (then became two parties quarrelling. (Ⅲ)
- And We sent to Thamood their brother Salih: ´Serve you God!´ And behold, they were two parties, that were disputing one with another. (Ⅳ)
- We sent (aforetime), to the Thamud, their brother Salih, saying, "Serve Allah": But behold, they became two factions quarrelling with each other. (Ⅵ)
27. 46  
قَالَ يَا قَوْمِ لِمَ تَسْتَعْجِلُونَ بِالسَّيِّئَةِ قَبْلَ الْحَسَنَةِ ۖ لَوْلَا تَسْتَغْفِرُونَ اللَّهَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُرْحَمُونَ
- Qala ya qawmi lima tastaAAjiloona bialssayyiati qabla alhasanati lawla tastaghfiroona Allaha laAAallakum turhamoona (Ⅰ)
- Said he, "O my people! Why do you hasten on evil rather than good? Why do you not ask forgiveness of Allah that you may obtain mercy." (Ⅱ)
- He said: O my people! Why will ye hasten on the evil rather than the good ? Why will ye not ask pardon of Allah, that ye may receive mercy. (Ⅲ)
- He said, ´O my people, why do you seek to hasten evil before good? Why do you not ask forgiveness of God? Haply so you will find mercy.´ (Ⅳ)
- He said: "O my people! why ask ye to hasten on the evil in preference to the good? If only ye ask Allah for forgiveness, ye may hope to receive mercy. (Ⅵ)
27. 47  
قَالُوا اطَّيَّرْنَا بِكَ وَبِمَن مَّعَكَ ۚ قَالَ طَائِرُكُمْ عِندَ اللَّهِ ۖ بَلْ أَنتُمْ قَوْمٌ تُفْتَنُونَ
- Qaloo ittayyarna bika wabiman maAAaka qala tairukum AAinda Allahi bal antum qawmun tuftanoona (Ⅰ)
- They said, "We auger evil of you and those who are with you. Said he, "Your augury is in Allah´s hands; nay, but you are a people who are being tested." (Ⅱ)
- They said: We augur evil of thee and those with thee. He said: Your evil augury is with Allah. Nay, but ye are folk that are being tested. (Ⅲ)
- They said, ´We augur ill of thee and of those that are with thee.´ He said, ´Your augury is with God; nay, but you are a people being proved.´ (Ⅳ)
- They said: "Ill omen do we augur from thee and those that are with thee". He said: "Your ill omen is with Allah; yea, ye are a people under trial." (Ⅵ)
27. 48  
وَكَانَ فِي الْمَدِينَةِ تِسْعَةُ رَهْطٍ يُفْسِدُونَ فِي الْأَرْضِ وَلَا يُصْلِحُونَ
- Wakana fee almadeenati tisAAatu rahtin yufsidoona fee alardi wala yuslihoona (Ⅰ)
- And there were in the city nine persons who despoiled the land and reformed not. (Ⅱ)
- And there were in the city nine persons who made mischief in the land and reformed not. (Ⅲ)
- Now in the city there were nine persons who did corruption in the land, and put not things right; (Ⅳ)
- There were in the city nine men of a family, who made mischief in the land, and would not reform. (Ⅵ)
27. 49  
قَالُوا تَقَاسَمُوا بِاللَّهِ لَنُبَيِّتَنَّهُ وَأَهْلَهُ ثُمَّ لَنَقُولَنَّ لِوَلِيِّهِ مَا شَهِدْنَا مَهْلِكَ أَهْلِهِ وَإِنَّا لَصَادِقُونَ
- Qaloo taqasamoo biAllahi lanubayyitannahu waahlahu thumma lanaqoolanna liwaliyyihi ma shahidna mahlika ahlihi wainna lasadiqoona (Ⅰ)
- Said they, "Swear to each other by Allah that we will surely fall on him and his people by night; then we will surely say unto his family, ´We witnessed not the destruction of his household; and we are truth tellers!´" (Ⅱ)
- They said: Swear one to another by Allah that we verily will attack him and his household by night, and afterward we will surely say unto his friend: We witnessed not the destruction of his household. And lo! we are truthtellers. (Ⅲ)
- they said, ´Swear you, one to another, by God, "We will attack him and his family by night, then we will tell his protector, We were not witnesses of the destruction of his family; and assuredly we are truthful men."´ (Ⅳ)
