54. 0  
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
- Alhamdu lillahi rabbi alAAalameena (Ⅰ)
- The Beneficent, the Merciful, (Ⅱ)
- In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful. (Ⅲ)
- Praise belongs to God, the Lord of all Being, (Ⅳ)
- Praise be to Allah, the Cherisher and Sustainer of the worlds; (Ⅵ)
54. 1  
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ اقْتَرَبَتِ السَّاعَةُ وَانشَقَّ الْقَمَرُ
- Iqtarabati alssaAAatu wainshaqqa alqamaru (Ⅰ)
- The hour drew nigh (or is nigh) and the moon was rent in twain (or is rent). (Ⅱ)
- The hour drew nigh and the moon was rent in twain. (Ⅲ)
- The Hour has drawn nigh: the moon is split. (Ⅳ)
- The Hour (of Judgment) is nigh, and the moon is cleft asunder. (Ⅵ)
54. 2  
وَإِن يَرَوْا آيَةً يُعْرِضُوا وَيَقُولُوا سِحْرٌ مُّسْتَمِرٌّ
- Wain yaraw ayatan yuAAridoo wayaqooloo sihrun mustamirrun (Ⅰ)
- And if they see a Sign they turn aside and say, "Transient magic." (Ⅱ)
- And if they behold a portent they turn away and say: Prolonged illusion. (Ⅲ)
- Yet if they see a sign they turn away, and they say ´A continuous sorcery!´ (Ⅳ)
- But if they see a Sign, they turn away, and say, "This is (but) transient magic." (Ⅵ)
54. 3  
وَكَذَّبُوا وَاتَّبَعُوا أَهْوَاءَهُمْ ۚ وَكُلُّ أَمْرٍ مُّسْتَقِرٌّ
- Wakaththaboo waittabaAAoo ahwaahum wakullu amrin mustaqirrun (Ⅰ)
- And they call it a lie, and follow their own low desires; but every affair has its appointed term. (Ⅱ)
- They denied (the Truth) and followed their own lusts. Yet everything will come to a decision (Ⅲ)
- They have cried lies, and followed their caprices; but every matter is settled. (Ⅳ)
- They reject (the warning) and follow their (own) lusts but every matter has its appointed time. (Ⅵ)
54. 4  
وَلَقَدْ جَاءَهُم مِّنَ الْأَنبَاءِ مَا فِيهِ مُزْدَجَرٌ
- Walaqad jaahum mina alanbai ma feehi muzdajarun (Ⅰ)
- And certainly some narratives have come to them wherein is a deterrent, (Ⅱ)
- And surely there hath come unto them news whereof the purport should deter, (Ⅲ)
- And there have come to them such tidings as contain a deterrent -- (Ⅳ)
- There have already come to them Recitals wherein there is (enough) to check (them), (Ⅵ)
54. 5  
حِكْمَةٌ بَالِغَةٌ ۖ فَمَا تُغْنِ النُّذُرُ
- Hikmatun balighatun fama tughnee alnnuthuru (Ⅰ)
- Consummate wisdom - but warnings avail not; (Ⅱ)
- Effective wisdom; but warnings avail not. (Ⅲ)
- a Wisdom far-reaching; yet warnings do not avail. (Ⅳ)
- Mature wisdom;- but (the preaching of) Warners profits them not. (Ⅵ)
54. 6  
فَتَوَلَّ عَنْهُمْ ۘ يَوْمَ يَدْعُ الدَّاعِ إِلَىٰ شَيْءٍ نُّكُرٍ
- Fatawalla AAanhum yawma yadAAu alddaAAi ila shayin nukurin (Ⅰ)
- So turn your back on them for the Day when the Summoner summons them unto a terrible affair, (Ⅱ)
- So withdraw from them (O Muhammad) on the day when the Summoner summoneth unto a painful thing. (Ⅲ)
- So turn thou away from them. Upon the day when the Caller shall call unto a horrible thing, (Ⅳ)
- Therefore, (O Prophet,) turn away from them. The Day that the Caller will call (them) to a terrible affair, (Ⅵ)
54. 7  
خُشَّعًا أَبْصَارُهُمْ يَخْرُجُونَ مِنَ الْأَجْدَاثِ كَأَنَّهُمْ جَرَادٌ مُّنتَشِرٌ
- KhushshaAAan absaruhum yakhrujoona mina alajdathi kaannahum jaradun muntashirun (Ⅰ)
- With downcast eyes, they come forth from their graves as if they were scattered locusts, (Ⅱ)
- With downcast eyes, they come forth from the graves as they were locusts spread abroad, (Ⅲ)
- abasing their eyes, they shall come forth from the tombs as if they were scattered grasshoppers, (Ⅳ)
- They will come forth,- their eyes humbled - from (their) graves, (torpid) like locusts scattered abroad, (Ⅵ)
54. 8  
مُّهْطِعِينَ إِلَى الدَّاعِ ۖ يَقُولُ الْكَافِرُونَ هَٰذَا يَوْمٌ عَسِرٌ
- MuhtiAAeena ila alddaAAi yaqoolu alkafiroona hatha yawmun AAasirun (Ⅰ)
- Hastening towards the Summoner. The unbelievers shall say, "This is a hard day." (Ⅱ)
- Hastening toward the summoner; the disbelievers say: This is a hard day. (Ⅲ)
- running with outstretched necks to the Caller. The unbelievers shall say, ´This is a hard day!´ (Ⅳ)
- Hastening, with eyes transfixed, towards the Caller!- "Hard is this Day!", the Unbelievers will say. (Ⅵ)
54. 9  
۞ كَذَّبَتْ قَبْلَهُمْ قَوْمُ نُوحٍ فَكَذَّبُوا عَبْدَنَا وَقَالُوا مَجْنُونٌ وَازْدُجِرَ
- Kaththabat qablahum qawmu noohin fakaththaboo AAabdana waqaloo majnoonun waizdujira (Ⅰ)
- Before them the people of Noah rejected, yea they reject Our servant and called him mad, and he was driven away. (Ⅱ)
- The folk of Noah denied before them, yea, they denied Our slave and said: A madman; and he was repulsed. (Ⅲ)
- The people of Noah cried lies before them; they cried lies to Our servant, and said, ´A man possessed!´ And he was rejected. (Ⅳ)
- Before them the People of Noah rejected (their messenger): they rejected Our servant, and said, "Here is one possessed!", and he was driven out. (Ⅵ)
54. 10  
فَدَعَا رَبَّهُ أَنِّي مَغْلُوبٌ فَانتَصِرْ
- FadaAAa rabbahu annee maghloobun faintasir (Ⅰ)
- Therefore he called upon his Lord, "I am overcome, come you then to help." (Ⅱ)
- So he cried unto his Lord, saying: I am vanquished, so give help. (Ⅲ)
- And so he called unto his Lord, saying, ´I am vanquished; do Thou succour me!´ (Ⅳ)
- Then he called on his Lord: "I am one overcome: do Thou then help (me)!" (Ⅵ)
54. 11  
فَفَتَحْنَا أَبْوَابَ السَّمَاءِ بِمَاءٍ مُّنْهَمِرٍ
- Fafatahna abwaba alssamai bimain munhamirin (Ⅰ)
- So We opened the gates of heaven with water pouring forth (Ⅱ)
- Then opened We the gates of heaven with pouring water (Ⅲ)
- Then We opened the gates of heaven unto water torrential, (Ⅳ)
- So We opened the gates of heaven, with water pouring forth. (Ⅵ)
54. 12  
وَفَجَّرْنَا الْأَرْضَ عُيُونًا فَالْتَقَى الْمَاءُ عَلَىٰ أَمْرٍ قَدْ قُدِرَ
- Wafajjarna alarda AAuyoonan failtaqa almao AAala amrin qad qudira (Ⅰ)
- And We caused water to gush forth from the land in springs; so the waters gathered together and rose according to a measure already ordained. (Ⅱ)
- And caused the earth to gush forth springs, so that the waters met for a predestined purpose. (Ⅲ)
- and made the earth to gush with fountains, and the waters met for a matter decreed. (Ⅳ)
- And We caused the earth to gush forth with springs, so the waters met (and rose) to the extent decreed. (Ⅵ)
54. 13  
وَحَمَلْنَاهُ عَلَىٰ ذَاتِ أَلْوَاحٍ وَدُسُرٍ
- Wahamalnahu AAala thati alwahin wadusurin (Ⅰ)
- And We bore him on that (the Ark) which was made of planks and nails (or ties of palm-fibre) (Ⅱ)
- And We carried him upon a thing of planks and nails, (Ⅲ)
- And We bore him upon a well-planked vessel well-caulked (Ⅳ)
- But We bore him on an (Ark) made of broad planks and caulked with palm-fibre: (Ⅵ)
54. 14  
تَجْرِي بِأَعْيُنِنَا جَزَاءً لِّمَن كَانَ كُفِرَ
- Tajree biaAAyunina jazaan liman kana kufira (Ⅰ)
- Floating before Our eyes, a reward for him who was rejected. (Ⅱ)
- That ran (upon the waters) in Our sight, as a reward for him who was rejected. (Ⅲ)
- running before Our eyes-a recompense for him denied. (Ⅳ)
- She floats under our eyes (and care): a recompense to one who had been rejected (with scorn)! (Ⅵ)
54. 15  
وَلَقَد تَّرَكْنَاهَا آيَةً فَهَلْ مِن مُّدَّكِرٍ
- Walaqad taraknaha ayatan fahal min muddakirin (Ⅰ)
- And certainly We left it as a sign, but is there anyone that remembers (or takes heed). (Ⅱ)
- And verily We left it as a token; but is there any that remembereth ? (Ⅲ)
- And We left it for a sign. Is there any that will remember? (Ⅳ)
- And We have left this as a Sign (for all time): then is there any that will receive admonition? (Ⅵ)
54. 16  
فَكَيْفَ كَانَ عَذَابِي وَنُذُرِ
- Fakayfa kana AAathabee wanuthuri (Ⅰ)
- How great was then My punishment after My warning! (Ⅱ)
- Then see how (dreadful) was My punishment after My warnings! (Ⅲ)
- How then were My chastisement and My warnings? (Ⅳ)
- But how (terrible) was My Penalty and My Warning? (Ⅵ)
54. 17  
وَلَقَدْ يَسَّرْنَا الْقُرْآنَ لِلذِّكْرِ فَهَلْ مِن مُّدَّكِرٍ
- Walaqad yassarna alqurana lilththikri fahal min muddakirin (Ⅰ)
- And certainly We have made the Quran easy for remembrance, but is there anyone who will heed? (Ⅱ)
- And in truth We have made the Qur'an easy to remember; but is there any that remembereth ? (Ⅲ)
- Now We have made the Koran easy for Remembrance. Is there any that will remember? (Ⅳ)
- And We have indeed made the Qur´an easy to understand and remember: then is there any that will receive admonition? (Ⅵ)
54. 18  
كَذَّبَتْ عَادٌ فَكَيْفَ كَانَ عَذَابِي وَنُذُرِ
- Kaththabat AAadun fakayfa kana AAathabee wanuthuri (Ⅰ)
- A´ad treated the truth as a lie, so how great was My punishment after My warning! (Ⅱ)
- (The tribe of) A'ad rejected warnings. Then how (dreadful) was My punishment after My warnings. (Ⅲ)
- Ad cried lies. How then were My chastisement and My warnings? (Ⅳ)
- The ´Ad (people) (too) rejected (Truth): then how terrible was My Penalty and My Warning? (Ⅵ)
54. 19  
إِنَّا أَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ رِيحًا صَرْصَرًا فِي يَوْمِ نَحْسٍ مُّسْتَمِرٍّ
- Inna arsalna AAalayhim reehan sarsaran fee yawmi nahsin mustamirrin (Ⅰ)
- Surely We sent on them a tornado in a day of violent disaster, (Ⅱ)
- Lo! We let loose on them a raging wind on a day of constant calamity, (Ⅲ)
- We loosed against them a wind clamorous in a day of ill fortune continuous, (Ⅳ)
- For We sent against them a furious wind, on a Day of violent Disaster, (Ⅵ)
54. 20  
تَنزِعُ النَّاسَ كَأَنَّهُمْ أَعْجَازُ نَخْلٍ مُّنقَعِرٍ
- TanziAAu alnnasa kaannahum aAAjazu nakhlin munqaAAirin (Ⅰ)
- Tearing men away as if they were the trunks of palm-trees uprooted. (Ⅱ)
- Sweeping men away as though they were uprooted trunks of palm-trees. (Ⅲ)
- plucking up men as if they were stumps of uprooted palm-trees. (Ⅳ)
- Plucking out men as if they were roots of palm-trees torn up (from the ground). (Ⅵ)
54. 21  
فَكَيْفَ كَانَ عَذَابِي وَنُذُرِ
- Fakayfa kana AAathabee wanuthuri (Ⅰ)
- How great was then My punishment after My warning! (Ⅱ)
- Then see how (dreadful) was My punishment after My warnings! (Ⅲ)
- How then were My chastisement and My warnings? (Ⅳ)
- Yea, how (terrible) was My Penalty and My Warning! (Ⅵ)
54. 22  
وَلَقَدْ يَسَّرْنَا الْقُرْآنَ لِلذِّكْرِ فَهَلْ مِن مُّدَّكِرٍ
- Walaqad yassarna alqurana lilththikri fahal min muddakirin (Ⅰ)
- And certainly We have made the Quran easy for remembrance, but is there anyone who will heed? (Ⅱ)
- And in truth We have made the Qur'an easy to remember; but is there any that remembereth ? (Ⅲ)
- Now We have made the Koran easy for Remembrance. Is there any that will remember? (Ⅳ)
- But We have indeed made the Qur´an easy to understand and remember: then is there any that will receive admonition? (Ⅵ)
54. 23  
كَذَّبَتْ ثَمُودُ بِالنُّذُرِ
- Kaththabat thamoodu bialnnuthuri (Ⅰ)
- Thamud rejected the warning. (Ⅱ)
- (The tribe of) Thamud rejected warnings (Ⅲ)
- Thamood cried lies to the warnings (Ⅳ)
- The Thamud (also) rejected (their) Warners. (Ⅵ)
54. 24  
فَقَالُوا أَبَشَرًا مِّنَّا وَاحِدًا نَّتَّبِعُهُ إِنَّا إِذًا لَّفِي ضَلَالٍ وَسُعُرٍ
- Faqaloo abasharan minna wahidan nattabiAAuhu inna ithan lafee dalalin wasuAAurin (Ⅰ)
- So they said, "What! A single mortal from among us! Shall we follow him? Most surely we shall then be in sure error and madness: (Ⅱ)
- For they said; Is it a mortal man, alone among us, that we are to follow ? Then indeed we should fall into error and madness. (Ⅲ)
- and said, ´What, shall we follow a mortal, one out of ourselves? Then indeed we should be in error and insanity! (Ⅳ)
- For they said: "What! a man! a Solitary one from among ourselves! shall we follow such a one? Truly should we then be straying in mind, and mad! (Ⅵ)
54. 25  
أَأُلْقِيَ الذِّكْرُ عَلَيْهِ مِن بَيْنِنَا بَلْ هُوَ كَذَّابٌ أَشِرٌ
- Aolqiya alththikru AAalayhi min baynina bal huwa kaththabun ashirun (Ⅰ)
- "Can it be that the reminder has been sent to him of all the people among us? Nay! He is an insolent liar!" (Ⅱ)
- Hath the remembrance been given unto him alone among us ? Nay, but he is a rash liar. (Ⅲ)
- Has the Reminder been cast upon him alone among us? Nay, rather he is an impudent liar.´ (Ⅳ)
- "Is it that the Message is sent to him, of all people amongst us? Nay, he is a liar, an insolent one!" (Ⅵ)
54. 26  
سَيَعْلَمُونَ غَدًا مَّنِ الْكَذَّابُ الْأَشِرُ
- SayaAAlamoona ghadan mani alkaththabu alashiru (Ⅰ)
- Ah, tomorrow shall they know who is the liar, the insolent one. (Ⅱ)
- (Unto their warner it was said): To-morrow they will know who is the rash liar. (Ⅲ)
- ´They shall surely know tomorrow who is the impudent liar. (Ⅳ)
- Ah! they will know on the morrow, which is the liar, the insolent one! (Ⅵ)
54. 27  
إِنَّا مُرْسِلُو النَّاقَةِ فِتْنَةً لَّهُمْ فَارْتَقِبْهُمْ وَاصْطَبِرْ
- Inna mursiloo alnnaqati fitnatan lahum fairtaqibhum waistabir (Ⅰ)
- Surely We shall send them the she-camel as a trial; therefore, watch them and have patience. (Ⅱ)
- Lo! We are sending the she-camel as a test for them; so watch them and have patience; (Ⅲ)
- They shall send the She-camel as a trial for them; so watch thou them and keep patience. (Ⅳ)
- For We will send the she-camel by way of trial for them. So watch them, (O Salih), and possess thyself in patience! (Ⅵ)
54. 28  
وَنَبِّئْهُمْ أَنَّ الْمَاءَ قِسْمَةٌ بَيْنَهُمْ ۖ كُلُّ شِرْبٍ مُّحْتَضَرٌ
- Wanabbihum anna almaa qismatun baynahum kullu shirbin muhtadarun (Ⅰ)
- And inform them that the water is to be shared between them; every drinking shall be regulated. (Ⅱ)
- And inform them that the water is to be shared between (her and) them. Every drinking will be witnessed. (Ⅲ)
- And tell them that the water is to be divided between them, each drink for each in turn. (Ⅳ)
- And tell them that the water is to be divided between them: Each one´s right to drink being brought forward (by suitable turns). (Ⅵ)
54. 29  
فَنَادَوْا صَاحِبَهُمْ فَتَعَاطَىٰ فَعَقَرَ
- Fanadaw sahibahum fataAAata faAAaqara (Ⅰ)
- But they called their companion, who took (the sword) and hamstrung her. (Ⅱ)
- But they call their comrade and he took and hamstrung (her). (Ⅲ)
- Then they called their comrade, and he took in hand, and hamstrung her. (Ⅳ)
- But they called to their companion, and he took a sword in hand, and hamstrung (her). (Ⅵ)
54. 30  
فَكَيْفَ كَانَ عَذَابِي وَنُذُرِ
- Fakayfa kana AAathabee wanuthuri (Ⅰ)
- How great was then My punishment after My warning! (Ⅱ)
- Then see how (dreadful) was My punishment after My warnings! (Ⅲ)
- How then were My chastisement and My warnings? (Ⅳ)
- Ah! how (terrible) was My Penalty and My Warning! (Ⅵ)
54. 31  
إِنَّا أَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ صَيْحَةً وَاحِدَةً فَكَانُوا كَهَشِيمِ الْمُحْتَظِرِ
- Inna arsalna AAalayhim sayhatan wahidatan fakanoo kahasheemi almuhtathiri (Ⅰ)
- Surely We sent upon them a single Shout (or Blast), so they became like the dry stubble which the maker of an enclosure collects. (Ⅱ)
- Lo! We sent upon them one Shout, and they became as the dry twigs (rejected by) the builder of a cattle-fold. (Ⅲ)
- We loosed against them one Cry, and they were as the wattles of a pen-builder. (Ⅳ)
- For We sent against them a single Mighty Blast, and they became like the dry stubble used by one who pens cattle. (Ⅵ)
54. 32  
وَلَقَدْ يَسَّرْنَا الْقُرْآنَ لِلذِّكْرِ فَهَلْ مِن مُّدَّكِرٍ
- Walaqad yassarna alqurana lilththikri fahal min muddakirin (Ⅰ)
- And certainly We have made the Quran easy for remembrance, but is there anyone who will heed? (Ⅱ)
- And in truth We have made the Qur'an easy to remember; but is there any that remembereth ? (Ⅲ)
- Now We have made the Koran easy for Remembrance. Is there any that will remember? (Ⅳ)
- And We have indeed made the Qur´an easy to understand and remember: then is there any that will receive admonition? (Ⅵ)
54. 33  
كَذَّبَتْ قَوْمُ لُوطٍ بِالنُّذُرِ
- Kaththabat qawmu lootin bialnnuthuri (Ⅰ)
- The people of Lot treated the warning. as a lie. (Ⅱ)
- The folk of Lot rejected warnings. (Ⅲ)
- The people of Lot cried lies to the warnings. (Ⅳ)
- The people of Lut rejected (his) warning. (Ⅵ)
54. 34  
إِنَّا أَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ حَاصِبًا إِلَّا آلَ لُوطٍ ۖ نَّجَّيْنَاهُم بِسَحَرٍ
- Inna arsalna AAalayhim hasiban illa ala lootin najjaynahum bisaharin (Ⅰ)
- Surely We sent upon them a storm with stones, except Lot´s followers; We saved them a little before daybreak, (Ⅱ)
- Lo! We sent a storm of stones upon them (all) save the family of Lot, whom We rescued in the last watch of the night, (Ⅲ)
- We loosed against them a squall of pebbles except the folk of Lot; We delivered them at the dawn -- (Ⅳ)
- We sent against them a violent Tornado with showers of stones, (which destroyed them), except Lut´s household: them We delivered by early Dawn,- (Ⅵ)
54. 35  
نِّعْمَةً مِّنْ عِندِنَا ۚ كَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِي مَن شَكَرَ
- NiAAmatan min AAindina kathalika najzee man shakara (Ⅰ)
- A favour from Us; thus do We reward him who gives thanks. (Ⅱ)
- As grace from Us. Thus We reward him who giveth thanks. (Ⅲ)
- a blessing from Us; even so We recompense him who is thankful. (Ⅳ)
- As a Grace from Us: thus do We reward those who give thanks. (Ⅵ)
54. 36  
وَلَقَدْ أَنذَرَهُم بَطْشَتَنَا فَتَمَارَوْا بِالنُّذُرِ
- Walaqad antharahum batshatana fatamaraw bialnnuthuri (Ⅰ)
- And certainly he (Lot) warned them of Our violent punishment, but they obstinately disputed the warning. (Ⅱ)
- And he indeed had warned them of Our blow, but they did doubt the warnings. (Ⅲ)
- He had warned them of Our assault, but they disputed the warnings. (Ⅳ)
- And (Lut) did warn them of Our Punishment, but they disputed about the Warning. (Ⅵ)
54. 37  
وَلَقَدْ رَاوَدُوهُ عَن ضَيْفِهِ فَطَمَسْنَا أَعْيُنَهُمْ فَذُوقُوا عَذَابِي وَنُذُرِ
- Walaqad rawadoohu AAan dayfihi fatamasna aAAyunahum fathooqoo AAathabee wanuthuri (Ⅰ)
- And they endeavoured to snatch away his guests from him, but We blinded their eyes; "So taste you My chastisement and My warning. (Ⅱ)
- They even asked of him his guests for an ill purpose. Then We blinded their eyes (and said): Taste now My punishment after My warnings! (Ⅲ)
- Even his guests they had solicited of him; so We obliterated their eyes, saying, ´Taste now My chastisement and My warnings!´ (Ⅳ)
- And they even sought to snatch away his guests from him, but We blinded their eyes. (They heard:) "Now taste ye My Wrath and My Warning." (Ⅵ)
54. 38  
وَلَقَدْ صَبَّحَهُم بُكْرَةً عَذَابٌ مُّسْتَقِرٌّ
- Walaqad sabbahahum bukratan AAathabun mustaqirrun (Ⅰ)
- And early in the morning a lasting chastisement overtook them. (Ⅱ)
- And in truth the punishment decreed befell them early in the morning. (Ⅲ)
- In the morning early there came upon them a settled chastisement: (Ⅳ)
- Early on the morrow an abiding Punishment seized them: (Ⅵ)
54. 39  
فَذُوقُوا عَذَابِي وَنُذُرِ
- Fathooqoo AAathabee wanuthuri (Ⅰ)
- "So taste you My chastisement after My warning." (Ⅱ)
- Now taste My punishment after My warnings! (Ⅲ)
- ´Taste now My chastisement and My warnings!´ (Ⅳ)
- "So taste ye My Wrath and My Warning." (Ⅵ)
54. 40  
وَلَقَدْ يَسَّرْنَا الْقُرْآنَ لِلذِّكْرِ فَهَلْ مِن مُّدَّكِرٍ
- Walaqad yassarna alqurana lilththikri fahal min muddakirin (Ⅰ)
- And certainly We have made the Quran easy for remembrance, but is there anyone who will heed? (Ⅱ)
- And in truth We have made the Qur'an easy to remember; but is there any that remembereth ? (Ⅲ)
- Now We have made the Koran easy for Remembrance. Is there any that will remember? (Ⅳ)
- And We have indeed made the Qur´an easy to understand and remember: then is there any that will receive admonition? (Ⅵ)
54. 41  
وَلَقَدْ جَاءَ آلَ فِرْعَوْنَ النُّذُرُ
- Walaqad jaa ala firAAawna alnnuthuru (Ⅰ)
- And certainly the warning came to Pharaoh´s people. (Ⅱ)
- And warnings came in truth unto the house of Pharaoh (Ⅲ)
- The warnings came also to Pharaoh´s folk. (Ⅳ)
- To the People of Pharaoh, too, aforetime, came Warners (from Allah). (Ⅵ)
54. 42  
كَذَّبُوا بِآيَاتِنَا كُلِّهَا فَأَخَذْنَاهُمْ أَخْذَ عَزِيزٍ مُّقْتَدِرٍ
- Kaththaboo biayatina kulliha faakhathnahum akhtha AAazeezin muqtadirin (Ⅰ)
- They rejected all Our Signs, so We overtook them with such a penalty as comes from One Mighty, Powerful. (Ⅱ)
- Who denied Our revelations, every one. Therefore We grasped them with the grasp of the Mighty, the Powerful. (Ⅲ)
- They cried lies to Our signs, all of them, so We seized them with the seizing of One mighty, omnipotent. (Ⅳ)
- The (people) rejected all Our Signs; but We seized them with such Penalty (as comes) from One Exalted in Power, able to carry out His Will. (Ⅵ)
54. 43  
أَكُفَّارُكُمْ خَيْرٌ مِّنْ أُولَٰئِكُمْ أَمْ لَكُم بَرَاءَةٌ فِي الزُّبُرِ
- Akuffarukum khayrun min olaikum am lakum baraatun fee alzzuburi (Ⅰ)
- Are the unbelievers of yours (O Quraish) better than these, or is there an exemption for you in the Sacred Books? (Ⅱ)
- Are your disbelievers better than those, or have ye some immunity in the scriptures ? (Ⅲ)
- What, are your unbelievers better than those? Or have you an immunity in the Scrolls? (Ⅳ)
- Are your Unbelievers, (O Quraish), better than they? Or have ye an immunity in the Sacred Books? (Ⅵ)
54. 44  
أَمْ يَقُولُونَ نَحْنُ جَمِيعٌ مُّنتَصِرٌ
- Am yaqooloona nahnu jameeAAun muntasirun (Ⅰ)
- Or do they say, "We are a host allied together to help each other? (Ⅱ)
- Or say they: We are a host victorious ? (Ⅲ)
- Or do they say, ´We are a congregation that shall be succoured?´ (Ⅳ)
- Or do they say: "We acting together can defend ourselves"? (Ⅵ)
54. 45  
سَيُهْزَمُ الْجَمْعُ وَيُوَلُّونَ الدُّبُرَ
- Sayuhzamu aljamAAu wayuwalloona alddubura (Ⅰ)
- But soon shall the hosts be routed, and they shall flee. (Ⅱ)
- The hosts will all be routed and will turn and flee. (Ⅲ)
- Certainly the host shall be routed, and turn their backs. (Ⅳ)
- Soon will their multitude be put to flight, and they will show their backs. (Ⅵ)
54. 46  
بَلِ السَّاعَةُ مَوْعِدُهُمْ وَالسَّاعَةُ أَدْهَىٰ وَأَمَرُّ
- Bali alssaAAatu mawAAiduhum waalssaAAatu adha waamarru (Ⅰ)
- Nay, the Hour is their promised time, and the Hour shall be most grievous and bitter. (Ⅱ)
- Nay, but the Hour (of doom) is their appointed tryst, and the Hour will be more wretched and more bitter (than their earthly failure). (Ⅲ)
- Nay, but the Hour is their tryst, and the Hour is very calamitous and bitter. (Ⅳ)
- Nay, the Hour (of Judgment) is the time promised them (for their full recompense): And that Hour will be most grievous and most bitter. (Ⅵ)
54. 47  
إِنَّ الْمُجْرِمِينَ فِي ضَلَالٍ وَسُعُرٍ
- Inna almujrimeena fee dalalin wasuAAurin (Ⅰ)
- Surely it is the guilty who are in error and madness. (Ⅱ)
- Lo! the guilty are in error and madness. (Ⅲ)
- Surely the sinners are in error and insanity! (Ⅳ)
- Truly those in sin are the ones straying in mind, and mad. (Ⅵ)
54. 48  
يَوْمَ يُسْحَبُونَ فِي النَّارِ عَلَىٰ وُجُوهِهِمْ ذُوقُوا مَسَّ سَقَرَ
- Yawma yushaboona fee alnnari AAala wujoohihim thooqoo massa saqara (Ⅰ)
- On the day when they shall be dragged upon their faces into the Fire, "Taste the touch of hell." (Ⅱ)
- On the day when they are dragged into the Fire upon their faces (it is said unto them): Feel the touch of hell. (Ⅲ)
- The day when they are dragged on their faces into the Fire: ´Taste now the touch of Sakar!´ (Ⅳ)
- The Day they will be dragged through the Fire on their faces, (they will hear:) "Taste ye the touch of Hell!" (Ⅵ)
54. 49  
إِنَّا كُلَّ شَيْءٍ خَلَقْنَاهُ بِقَدَرٍ
- Inna kulla shayin khalaqnahu biqadarin (Ⅰ)
- Surely We have created everything according to a measure. (Ⅱ)
- Lo! We have created every thing by measure. (Ⅲ)
- Surely We have created everything in measure. (Ⅳ)
- Verily, all things have We created in proportion and measure. (Ⅵ)
