84. 0  
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
- Alhamdu lillahi rabbi alAAalameena (Ⅰ)
- The Beneficent, the Merciful, (Ⅱ)
- In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful. (Ⅲ)
- Praise belongs to God, the Lord of all Being, (Ⅳ)
- Praise be to Allah, the Cherisher and Sustainer of the worlds; (Ⅵ)
84. 1  
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ إِذَا السَّمَاءُ انشَقَّتْ
- Itha alssamao inshaqqat (Ⅰ)
- When the heaven is rent asunder (Ⅱ)
- When the heaven is split asunder (Ⅲ)
- When heaven is rent asunder (Ⅳ)
- When the sky is rent asunder, (Ⅵ)
84. 2  
وَأَذِنَتْ لِرَبِّهَا وَحُقَّتْ
- Waathinat lirabbiha wahuqqat (Ⅰ)
- And gives ear unto its Lord, and is dutiful! (Ⅱ)
- And attentive to her Lord in fear, (Ⅲ)
- and gives ear to its Lord, and is fitly disposed; (Ⅳ)
- And hearkens to (the Command of) its Lord, and it must needs (do so);- (Ⅵ)
84. 3  
وَإِذَا الْأَرْضُ مُدَّتْ
- Waitha alardu muddat (Ⅰ)
- And when the earth is stretched out (Ⅱ)
- And when the earth is spread out (Ⅲ)
- when earth is stretched out (Ⅳ)
- And when the earth is flattened out, (Ⅵ)
84. 4  
وَأَلْقَتْ مَا فِيهَا وَتَخَلَّتْ
- Waalqat ma feeha watakhallat (Ⅰ)
- And casts forth what is within it, and is emptied (or clean), (Ⅱ)
- And hath cast out all that was in her, and is empty (Ⅲ)
- and casts forth what is in it, and voids itself, (Ⅳ)
- And casts forth what is within it and becomes (clean) empty, (Ⅵ)
84. 5  
وَأَذِنَتْ لِرَبِّهَا وَحُقَّتْ
- Waathinat lirabbiha wahuqqat (Ⅰ)
- And gives ear unto its Lord, and is dutiful! (Ⅱ)
- And attentive to her Lord in fear! (Ⅲ)
- and gives ear to its Lord, and is fitly disposed! (Ⅳ)
- And hearkens to (the Command of) its Lord,- and it must needs (do so);- (then will come Home the full reality). (Ⅵ)
84. 6  
يَا أَيُّهَا الْإِنسَانُ إِنَّكَ كَادِحٌ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ كَدْحًا فَمُلَاقِيهِ
- Ya ayyuha alinsanu innaka kadihun ila rabbika kadhan famulaqeehi (Ⅰ)
- O man! Verily, you are toiling on towards your Lord, painfully toiling; wherefore shall you meet Him! (Ⅱ)
- Thou, verily, O man, art working toward thy Lord a work which thou wilt meet (in His presence). (Ⅲ)
- O Man! Thou art labouring unto thy Lord laboriously, and thou shalt encounter Him. (Ⅳ)
- O thou man! Verily thou art ever toiling on towards thy Lord- painfully toiling,- but thou shalt meet Him. (Ⅵ)
84. 7  
فَأَمَّا مَنْ أُوتِيَ كِتَابَهُ بِيَمِينِهِ
- Faama man ootiya kitabahu biyameenihi (Ⅰ)
- And as for him who is given his record in his right hand, (Ⅱ)
- Then whoso is given his account in his right hand (Ⅲ)
- Then as for him who is given his book in his right hand, (Ⅳ)
- Then he who is given his Record in his right hand, (Ⅵ)
84. 8  
فَسَوْفَ يُحَاسَبُ حِسَابًا يَسِيرًا
- Fasawfa yuhasabu hisaban yaseeran (Ⅰ)
- His account shall be taken with an easy reckoning; (Ⅱ)
- He truly will receive an easy reckoning (Ⅲ)
- he shall surely receive an easy reckoning (Ⅳ)
- Soon will his account be taken by an easy reckoning, (Ⅵ)
84. 9  
وَيَنقَلِبُ إِلَىٰ أَهْلِهِ مَسْرُورًا
- Wayanqalibu ila ahlihi masrooran (Ⅰ)
- And he shall go back to his people rejoicing. (Ⅱ)
- And will return unto his folk in joy. (Ⅲ)
- and he will return to his family joyfully. (Ⅳ)
- And he will turn to his people, rejoicing! (Ⅵ)
84. 10  
وَأَمَّا مَنْ أُوتِيَ كِتَابَهُ وَرَاءَ ظَهْرِهِ
- Waamma man ootiya kitabahu waraa thahrihi (Ⅰ)
- But as for him who is given his book behind his back, (Ⅱ)
- But whoso is given his account behind his back, (Ⅲ)
- But as for him who is given his book behind his back, (Ⅳ)
- But he who is given his Record behind his back,- (Ⅵ)
84. 11  
فَسَوْفَ يَدْعُو ثُبُورًا
- Fasawfa yadAAoo thubooran (Ⅰ)
- He shall call out for destruction, (Ⅱ)
- He surely will invoke destruction (Ⅲ)
- he shall call for destruction (Ⅳ)
- Soon will he cry for perdition, (Ⅵ)
84. 12  
وَيَصْلَىٰ سَعِيرًا
- Wayasla saAAeeran (Ⅰ)
- But he shall broil in a blazing Fire! (Ⅱ)
- And be thrown to scorching fire. (Ⅲ)
- and he shall roast at a Blaze. (Ⅳ)
- And he will enter a Blazing Fire. (Ⅵ)
84. 13  
إِنَّهُ كَانَ فِي أَهْلِهِ مَسْرُورًا
- Innahu kana fee ahlihi masrooran (Ⅰ)
- Verily, he was amongst his family joyful. (Ⅱ)
- He verily lived joyous with his folk, (Ⅲ)
- He once lived among his family joyfully; (Ⅳ)
- Truly, did he go about among his people, rejoicing! (Ⅵ)
84. 14  
إِنَّهُ ظَنَّ أَن لَّن يَحُورَ
- Innahu thanna an lan yahoora (Ⅰ)
- Verily, he thought that he should never return to Allah. (Ⅱ)
- He verily deemed that he would never return (unto Allah). (Ⅲ)
- he surely thought he would never revert. (Ⅳ)
- Truly, did he think that he would not have to return (to Us)! (Ⅵ)
84. 15  
بَلَىٰ إِنَّ رَبَّهُ كَانَ بِهِ بَصِيرًا
- Bala inna rabbahu kana bihi baseeran (Ⅰ)
- Nay, nay! Verily, his Lord did watch him! (Ⅱ)
- Nay, but lo! his Lord is ever looking on him! (Ⅲ)
- Yes indeed; his Lord had sight of him. (Ⅳ)
- Nay, nay! for his Lord was (ever) watchful of him! (Ⅵ)
84. 16  
فَلَا أُقْسِمُ بِالشَّفَقِ
- Fala oqsimu bialshshafaqi (Ⅰ)
- So I do call as witness the glow of sunset, (Ⅱ)
- Oh, I swear by the afterglow of sunset, (Ⅲ)
- No! I swear by the twilight (Ⅳ)
- So I do call to witness the ruddy glow of Sunset; (Ⅵ)
84. 17  
وَاللَّيْلِ وَمَا وَسَقَ
- Waallayli wama wasaqa (Ⅰ)
- Or the night, and its homing, (Ⅱ)
- And by the night and all that it enshroudeth, (Ⅲ)
- and the night and what it envelops (Ⅳ)
- The Night and its Homing; (Ⅵ)
84. 18  
وَالْقَمَرِ إِذَا اتَّسَقَ
- Waalqamari itha ittasaqa (Ⅰ)
- Or the moon in her fullness, (Ⅱ)
- And by the moon when she is at the full, (Ⅲ)
- and the moon when it is at the full, (Ⅳ)
- And the Moon in her fullness: (Ⅵ)
84. 19  
لَتَرْكَبُنَّ طَبَقًا عَن طَبَقٍ
- Latarkabunna tabaqan AAan tabaqin (Ⅰ)
- You shall surely travel from stage to stage! (Ⅱ)
- That ye shall journey on from plane to plane. (Ⅲ)
- you shall surely ride stage after stage. (Ⅳ)
- Ye shall surely travel from stage to stage. (Ⅵ)
84. 20  
فَمَا لَهُمْ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ
- Fama lahum la yuminoona (Ⅰ)
- What ails them that they believe not? (Ⅱ)
- What aileth them, then, that they believe not (Ⅲ)
- Then what ails them, that they believe not, (Ⅳ)
- What then is the matter with them, that they believe not?- (Ⅵ)
84. 21  
وَإِذَا قُرِئَ عَلَيْهِمُ الْقُرْآنُ لَا يَسْجُدُونَ ۩
- Waitha quria AAalayhimu alquranu la yasjudoona (Ⅰ)
- And, when the Quran is read to them, they fall not prostrate? (Ⅱ)
- And, when the Qur'an is recited unto them, worship not (Allah) ? (Ⅲ)
- and when the Koran is recited to them they do not bow? (Ⅳ)
- And when the Qur´an is read to them, they fall not prostrate, (Ⅵ)
84. 22  
بَلِ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا يُكَذِّبُونَ
- Bali allatheena kafaroo yukaththiboona (Ⅰ)
- On the contrary, the unbelievers reject it. (Ⅱ)
- Nay, but those who disbelieve will deny; (Ⅲ)
- Nay, but the unbelievers are crying lies, (Ⅳ)
- But on the contrary the Unbelievers reject (it). (Ⅵ)
84. 23  
وَاللَّهُ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا يُوعُونَ
- WaAllahu aAAlamu bima yooAAoona (Ⅰ)
- But Allah knows best the (malice) that they hide. (Ⅱ)
- And Allah knoweth best what they are hiding. (Ⅲ)
- and God knows very well what they are secreting. (Ⅳ)
- But Allah has full knowledge of what they secrete (in their breasts) (Ⅵ)
84. 24  
فَبَشِّرْهُم بِعَذَابٍ أَلِيمٍ
- Fabashshirhum biAAathabin aleemin (Ⅰ)
- So announce to them the grievous woe! (Ⅱ)
- So give them tidings of a painful doom, (Ⅲ)
- So give them good tidings of a painful chastisement, (Ⅳ)
- So announce to them a Penalty Grievous, (Ⅵ)
84. 25  
إِلَّا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ لَهُمْ أَجْرٌ غَيْرُ مَمْنُونٍ
- Illa allatheena amanoo waAAamiloo alssalihati lahum ajrun ghayru mamnoonin (Ⅰ)
- Save those who believe and work right. For them is an unfailing reward. (Ⅱ)
- Save those who believe and do good works, for theirs is a reward unfailing. (Ⅲ)
- except those that believe, and do righteous deeds -- theirs shall be a wage unfailing. (Ⅳ)
- Except to those who believe and work righteous deeds: For them is a Reward that will never fail. (Ⅵ)
