And that My doom is a grievous doom.
- Wa anna AAathabee huwa alAAathabu alaleemu (Ⅰ) - And that My doom is the dolorous doom. (Ⅱ) - and that My chastisement is the painful chastisement. (Ⅲ) - وَأَنَّ عَذَابِي هُوَ الْعَذَابُ الْأَلِيمُ (Ⅳ) - And that My Penalty will be indeed the most grievous Penalty. (Ⅵ)

And inform them concerning Abraham´s guests,
- Wanabbihum AAan dayfi ibraheema (Ⅰ) - And tell them of Abraham's guests, (Ⅱ) - And tell them of the guests of Abraham, (Ⅲ) - وَنَبِّئْهُمْ عَن ضَيْفِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ (Ⅳ) - Tell them about the guests of Abraham. (Ⅵ)

When they came unto him and said, "Peace!", he said, "Verily, we are afraid of you."
- Ith dakhaloo AAalayhi faqaloo salaman qala inna minkum wajiloona (Ⅰ) - (How) when they came in unto him, and said: Peace. He said: Lo! we are afraid of you. (Ⅱ) - when they entered unto him, saying, ´Peace!´ He said, ´Behold, we are afraid of you.´ (Ⅲ) - إِذْ دَخَلُوا عَلَيْهِ فَقَالُوا سَلَامًا قَالَ إِنَّا مِنكُمْ وَجِلُونَ (Ⅳ) - When they entered his presence and said, "Peace!" He said, "We feel afraid of you!" (Ⅵ)

They said, "Be not afraid! Verily, we bring you glad tidings of a boy possessing wisdom."
- Qaloo la tawjal inna nubashshiruka bighulamin AAaleemin (Ⅰ) - They said: Be not afraid! Lo! we bring thee good tidings of a boy possessing wisdom. (Ⅱ) - They said, ´Be not afraid; behold, we give thee good tidings of a cunning boy.´ (Ⅲ) - قَالُوا لَا تَوْجَلْ إِنَّا نُبَشِّرُكَ بِغُلَامٍ عَلِيمٍ (Ⅳ) - They said: "Fear not! We give thee glad tidings of a son endowed with wisdom." (Ⅵ)

He said, "Do you bring me this glad tidings when old age has overtaken me? Of what then do you bring good tidings!"
- Qala abashshartumoonee AAala an massaniya alkibaru fabima tubashshirooni (Ⅰ) - He said: Bring ye me good tidings (of a son) when old age hath overtaken me ? Of what then can ye bring good tidings ? (Ⅱ) - He said, ´What, do you give me good tidings, though old age has smitten me? Of what do you (Ⅲ) - قَالَ أَبَشَّرْتُمُونِي عَلَىٰ أَن مَّسَّنِيَ الْكِبَرُ فَبِمَ تُبَشِّرُونَ (Ⅳ) - He said: "Do ye give me glad tidings that old age has seized me? Of what, then, is your good news?" (Ⅵ)

They said, "We bring you glad tidings in truth, then be not of those who despair!"
- Qaloo bashsharnaka bialhaqqi fala takun mina alqaniteena (Ⅰ) - They said: We bring thee good tidings in truth. So be not thou of the despairing. (Ⅱ) - give me good tidings?´ They said, ´We give thee good tidings of truth. Be not of those that despair.´ (Ⅲ) - قَالُوا بَشَّرْنَاكَ بِالْحَقِّ فَلَا تَكُن مِّنَ الْقَانِطِينَ (Ⅳ) - They said: "We give thee glad tidings in truth: be not then in despair!" (Ⅵ)

He said, "Who would despair of the mercy of his Lord save those who err?"
- Qala waman yaqnatu min rahmati rabbihi illa alddalloona (Ⅰ) - He said: And who despaireth of the mercy of his Lord save those who are astray ? (Ⅱ) - He said, ´And who despairs of the mercy of his Lord, excepting those that are astray?´ (Ⅲ) - قَالَ وَمَن يَقْنَطُ مِن رَّحْمَةِ رَبِّهِ إِلَّا الضَّالُّونَ (Ⅳ) - He said: "And who despairs of the mercy of his Lord, but such as go astray?" (Ⅵ)

He said, "What then is your business, O you messengers?"
- Qala fama khatbukum ayyuha almursaloona (Ⅰ) - He said: And afterward what is your business, O ye messengers (of Allah) ? (Ⅱ) - He said, ´And what is your business, envoys?´ (Ⅲ) - قَالَ فَمَا خَطْبُكُمْ أَيُّهَا الْمُرْسَلُونَ (Ⅳ) - Abraham said: "What then is the business on which ye (have come), O ye messengers (of Allah)?" (Ⅵ)

They said, "Verily, we are sent unto a people deeply in guilt;
- Qaloo inna orsilna ila qawmin mujrimeena (Ⅰ) - They said: We have been sent unto a guilty folk, (Ⅱ) - They said, ´We have been sent unto a people of sinners, (Ⅲ) - قَالُوا إِنَّا أُرْسِلْنَا إِلَىٰ قَوْمٍ مُّجْرِمِينَ (Ⅳ) - They said: "We have been sent to a people (deep) in sin, (Ⅵ)

"Save only the household (family or adherents) of Lot, all of them we are certainly charged to save,
- Illa ala lootin inna lamunajjoohum ajmaAAeena (Ⅰ) - (All) save the family of Lot. Them we shall deliver every one, (Ⅱ) - excepting the folk of Lot; them we shall deliver (Ⅲ) - إِلَّا آلَ لُوطٍ إِنَّا لَمُنَجُّوهُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ (Ⅳ) - "Excepting the adherents of Lut: them we are certainly (charged) to save (from harm),- All - (Ⅵ)

"Except his wife, of whom we have ascertained that she shall be of those who stay behind."
- Illa imraatahu qaddarna innaha lamina alghabireena (Ⅰ) - Except his wife, of whom We had decreed that she should be of those who stay behind. (Ⅱ) - all together, excepting his wife -- we have decreed, she shall surely be of those that tarry.´ (Ⅲ) - إِلَّا امْرَأَتَهُ قَدَّرْنَا ۙ إِنَّهَا لَمِنَ الْغَابِرِينَ (Ⅳ) - "Except his wife, who, We have ascertained, will be among those who will lag behind." (Ⅵ)

And when the messengers came unto the adherents of Lot,
- Falamma jaa ala lootin almursaloona (Ⅰ) - And when the messengers came unto the family of Lot, (Ⅱ) - So, when the envoys came to the folk of Lot, (Ⅲ) - فَلَمَّا جَاءَ آلَ لُوطٍ الْمُرْسَلُونَ (Ⅳ) - At length when the messengers arrived among the adherents of Lut, (Ⅵ)

He said, "Verily, you are a people whom I recognize not (or of uncommon appearance)."
- Qala innakum qawmun munkaroona (Ⅰ) - He said: Lo! ye are folk unknown (to me). (Ⅱ) - he said, ´Surely you are a people unknown to me!´ (Ⅲ) - قَالَ إِنَّكُمْ قَوْمٌ مُّنكَرُونَ (Ⅳ) - He said: "Ye appear to be uncommon folk." (Ⅵ)

They said, "Yea, we have come to you to accomplish that whereof they keep disputing.
- Qaloo bal jinaka bima kanoo feehi yamtaroona (Ⅰ) - They said: Nay, but we bring thee that concerning which they keep disputing, (Ⅱ) - They said, ´Nay, but we have brought thee that concerning which they were doubting. (Ⅲ) - قَالُوا بَلْ جِئْنَاكَ بِمَا كَانُوا فِيهِ يَمْتَرُونَ (Ⅳ) - They said: "Yea, we have come to thee to accomplish that of which they doubt. (Ⅵ)

"And we bring you the truth (or the inevitable), and, verily, we are truth-tellers!
- Waataynaka bialhaqqi wainna lasadiqoona (Ⅰ) - And bring thee the Truth, and lo! we are truth-tellers. (Ⅱ) - We have come to thee with the truth, and assuredly we speak truly. (Ⅲ) - وَأَتَيْنَاكَ بِالْحَقِّ وَإِنَّا لَصَادِقُونَ (Ⅳ) - "We have brought to thee that which is inevitably due, and assuredly we tell the truth. (Ⅵ)

"Travel then with your household in the deep darkness of the night, and follow you their rear; and let not any one of you turn round to look back; but go on to where you are commanded."
- Faasri biahlika biqitAAin mina allayli waittabiAA adbarahum wala yaltafit minkum ahadun waimdoo haythu tumaroona (Ⅰ) - So travel with thy household in a portion of the night, and follow thou their backs. Let none of you turn round, but go whither ye are commanded. (Ⅱ) - So set forth, thou with thy family, in a watch of the night, and follow after the backs of them, and let not any one of you turn round; and depart unto the place you are commanded.´ (Ⅲ) - فَأَسْرِ بِأَهْلِكَ بِقِطْعٍ مِّنَ اللَّيْلِ وَاتَّبِعْ أَدْبَارَهُمْ وَلَا يَلْتَفِتْ مِنكُمْ أَحَدٌ وَامْضُوا حَيْثُ تُؤْمَرُونَ (Ⅳ) - "Then travel by night with thy household, when a portion of the night (yet remains), and do thou bring up the rear: let no one amongst you look back, but pass on whither ye are ordered." (Ⅵ)

And We made plain for him the decree that the uttermost one of these people should be cut off on the morrow.
- Waqadayna ilayhi thalika alamra anna dabira haolai maqtooAAun musbiheena (Ⅰ) - And We made plain the case to him, that the root of them (who did wrong) was to be cut at early morn. (Ⅱ) - And We decreed for him that commandment, that the last remnant of those should be cut off in the morning. (Ⅲ) - وَقَضَيْنَا إِلَيْهِ ذَٰلِكَ الْأَمْرَ أَنَّ دَابِرَ هَٰؤُلَاءِ مَقْطُوعٌ مُّصْبِحِينَ (Ⅳ) - And We made known this decree to him, that the last remnants of those (sinners) should be cut off by the morning. (Ⅵ)

Then the people of the city came, glad at the tidings (of the arrival of the young men).
- Wajaa ahlu almadeenati yastabshiroona (Ⅰ) - And the people of the city came, rejoicing at the news (of new arrivals). (Ⅱ) - And the people of the city came rejoicing. (Ⅲ) - وَجَاءَ أَهْلُ الْمَدِينَةِ يَسْتَبْشِرُونَ (Ⅳ) - The inhabitants of the city came in (mad) joy (at news of the young men). (Ⅵ)

Said Lot, "Verily, these are my guests, therefore disgrace me not;
- Qala inna haolai dayfee fala tafdahooni (Ⅰ) - He said: Lo! they are my guests. Affront me not! (Ⅱ) - He said, ´These are my guests; put me not to shame, (Ⅲ) - قَالَ إِنَّ هَٰؤُلَاءِ ضَيْفِي فَلَا تَفْضَحُونِ (Ⅳ) - Lut said: "These are my guests: disgrace me not: (Ⅵ)

"But fear Allah, and put me not to shame."
- Waittaqoo Allaha wala tukhzooni (Ⅰ) - And keep your duty to Allah, and shame me not! (Ⅱ) - and fear God, and do not degrade me.´ (Ⅲ) - وَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ وَلَا تُخْزُونِ (Ⅳ) - "But fear Allah, and shame me not." (Ⅵ)

They said, "Have we not forbidden you to speak for all in the world?"
- Qaloo awalam nanhaka AAani alAAalameena (Ⅰ) - They said; Have we not forbidden you from (entertaining) anyone ? (Ⅱ) - They said, ´Have we not forbidden thee all beings?´ (Ⅲ) - قَالُوا أَوَلَمْ نَنْهَكَ عَنِ الْعَالَمِينَ (Ⅳ) - They said: "Did we not forbid thee (to speak) for all and sundry?" (Ⅵ)

He said, "Here are my daughters, if do it you must."-
- Qala haolai banatee in kuntum faAAileena (Ⅰ) - He said: Here are my daughters, if ye must be doing (so). (Ⅱ) - He said, ´These are my daughters, if you would be doing.´ (Ⅲ) - قَالَ هَٰؤُلَاءِ بَنَاتِي إِن كُنتُمْ فَاعِلِينَ (Ⅳ) - He said: "There are my daughters (to marry), if ye must act (so)." (Ⅵ)

By your life (O Muhammad)! In their frenzy of intoxication (passion) they went blindly (distractedly) to and fro.
- LaAAamruka innahum lafee sakratihim yaAAmahoona (Ⅰ) - By thy life (O Muhammad) they moved blindly in the frenzy of approaching death. (Ⅱ) - By thy life, they wandered blindly in their dazzlement, (Ⅲ) - لَعَمْرُكَ إِنَّهُمْ لَفِي سَكْرَتِهِمْ يَعْمَهُونَ (Ⅳ) - Verily, by thy life (O Prophet), in their wild intoxication, they wander in distraction, to and fro. (Ⅵ)

And the mighty blast caught them at dawn.
- Faakhathathumu alssayhatu mushriqeena (Ⅰ) - Then the (Awful) Cry overtook them at the sunrise. (Ⅱ) - and the Cry seized them at the sunrise, (Ⅲ) - فَأَخَذَتْهُمُ الصَّيْحَةُ مُشْرِقِينَ (Ⅳ) - But the (mighty) Blast overtook them before morning, (Ⅵ)

And We turned their cities upside down, and rained down on them brimstones hard as baked clay.
- FajaAAalna AAaliyaha safilaha waamtarna AAalayhim hijaratan min sijjeelin (Ⅰ) - And We utterly confounded them, and We rained upon them stones of heated clay. (Ⅱ) - and We turned it uppermost nethermost and rained on it stones of baked clay. (Ⅲ) - فَجَعَلْنَا عَالِيَهَا سَافِلَهَا وَأَمْطَرْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ حِجَارَةً مِّن سِجِّيلٍ (Ⅳ) - And We turned (the cities) upside down, and rained down on them brimstones hard as baked clay. (Ⅵ)

Behold! In this is a sign to those who by tokens understand (or can read the signs).
- Inna fee thalika laayatin lilmutawassimeena (Ⅰ) - Lo! therein verily are portents for those who read the signs. (Ⅱ) - Surely in that are signs for such as mark; (Ⅲ) - إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَآيَاتٍ لِّلْمُتَوَسِّمِينَ (Ⅳ) - Behold! in this are Signs for those who by tokens do understand. (Ⅵ)

And, verily, the cities were on a high road that still remains.
- Wainnaha labisabeelin muqeemin (Ⅰ) - And lo! it is upon a road still uneffaced. (Ⅱ) - surely it is on a way yet remaining; (Ⅲ) - وَإِنَّهَا لَبِسَبِيلٍ مُّقِيمٍ (Ⅳ) - And the (cities were) right on the high-road. (Ⅵ)

Verily, in this is a sign for those who believe.
- Inna fee thalika laayatan lilmumineena (Ⅰ) - Lo! therein is indeed a portent for believers. (Ⅱ) - surely in that is a sign for believers. (Ⅲ) - إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَآيَةً لِّلْمُؤْمِنِينَ (Ⅳ) - Behold! in this is a sign for those who believed. (Ⅵ)

And the companions of the Wood (Midian), too, were unjust;
- Wain kana ashabu alaykati lathalimeena (Ⅰ) - And the dwellers in the wood indeed were evil-doers. (Ⅱ) - Certainly the dwellers in the Thicket were evildoers, (Ⅲ) - وَإِن كَانَ أَصْحَابُ الْأَيْكَةِ لَظَالِمِينَ (Ⅳ) - And the Companions of the Wood were also wrong-doers; (Ⅵ)

And We took vengeance on them, and, verily, they were both on an open highway, plain to see.
- Faintaqamna minhum wainnahuma labiimamin mubeenin (Ⅰ) - So we took vengeance on them; and lo! they both are on a high-road plain to see. (Ⅱ) - and We took vengeance on them. The two of them were upon a roadway manifest. (Ⅲ) - فَانتَقَمْنَا مِنْهُمْ وَإِنَّهُمَا لَبِإِمَامٍ مُّبِينٍ (Ⅳ) - So We exacted retribution from them. They were both on an open highway, plain to see. (Ⅵ)

And the companions of Al-Hijr (the Rocky Tract) also rejected the messengers.
- Walaqad kaththaba ashabu alhijri almursaleena (Ⅰ) - And the dwellers in Al-Hijr denied (Our) messengers. (Ⅱ) - The dwellers in El-Hijr cried lies to the Envoys. (Ⅲ) - وَلَقَدْ كَذَّبَ أَصْحَابُ الْحِجْرِ الْمُرْسَلِينَ (Ⅳ) - The Companions of the Rocky Tract also rejected the messengers: (Ⅵ)

And We brought them Our revelations, but they did turn away there from.
- Waataynahum ayatina fakanoo AAanha muAArideena (Ⅰ) - And we gave them Our revelations, but they were averse to them. (Ⅱ) - We brought them. Our signs, and they turned away from them. (Ⅲ) - وَآتَيْنَاهُمْ آيَاتِنَا فَكَانُوا عَنْهَا مُعْرِضِينَ (Ⅳ) - We sent them Our Signs, but they persisted in turning away from them. (Ⅵ)

And they used to hew out dwellings from the mountain to dwell in safety.
- Wakanoo yanhitoona mina aljibali buyootan amineena (Ⅰ) - And they used to hew out dwellings from the hills, (wherein they dwelt) secure. (Ⅱ) - They were hewing the mountains into houses, therein dwelling securely; (Ⅲ) - وَكَانُوا يَنْحِتُونَ مِنَ الْجِبَالِ بُيُوتًا آمِنِينَ (Ⅳ) - Out of the mountains did they hew (their) edifices, (feeling themselves) secure. (Ⅵ)

But the mighty blast seized them in the morning;
- Faakhathathumu alssayhatu musbiheena (Ⅰ) - But the (Awful) Cry overtook them at the morning hour, (Ⅱ) - and the Cry seized them in the morning; (Ⅲ) - فَأَخَذَتْهُمُ الصَّيْحَةُ مُصْبِحِينَ (Ⅳ) - But the (mighty) Blast seized them of a morning, (Ⅵ)

And that which they counted as gain availed them naught.
- Fama aghna AAanhum ma kanoo yaksiboona (Ⅰ) - And that which they were wont to count as gain availed them not. (Ⅱ) - that they earned did not avail them. (Ⅲ) - فَمَا أَغْنَىٰ عَنْهُم مَّا كَانُوا يَكْسِبُونَ (Ⅳ) - And of no avail to them was all that they did (with such art and care)! (Ⅵ)

We created not the heavens and the earth and all that is between them both, save with truth. And, verily, the Hour is surely coming; then do you forgive with a gracious forgiveness.
- Wama khalaqna alssamawati waalarda wama baynahuma illa bialhaqqi wainna alssaAAata laatiyatun faisfahi alssafha aljameela (Ⅰ) - We created not the heavens and the earth and all that is between them save with truth, and lo! the Hour is surely coming. So forgive, (O Muhammad), with a gracious forgiveness. (Ⅱ) - We created not the heavens and the earth, and all that is between them, save in truth. Surely the Hour is coming; so pardon thou, with a gracious pardoning. (Ⅲ) - وَمَا خَلَقْنَا السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا إِلَّا بِالْحَقِّ ۗ وَإِنَّ السَّاعَةَ لَآتِيَةٌ ۖ فَاصْفَحِ الصَّفْحَ الْجَمِيلَ (Ⅳ) - We created not the heavens, the earth, and all between them, but for just ends. And the Hour is surely coming (when this will be manifest). So overlook (any human faults) with gracious forgiveness. (Ⅵ)

Verily, your Lord He is the Master Creator, the All-knowing.
- Inna rabbaka huwa alkhallaqu alAAaleemu (Ⅰ) - Lo! Thy Lord! He is the All-Wise Creator. (Ⅱ) - Surely thy Lord, He is the All-creator, the All-knowing. (Ⅲ) - إِنَّ رَبَّكَ هُوَ الْخَلَّاقُ الْعَلِيمُ (Ⅳ) - For verily it is thy Lord who is the Master-Creator, knowing all things. (Ⅵ)

We have already given you the Seven Oft-Repeated (the verses of the first chapter of the Quran), and the mighty Quran.
- Walaqad ataynaka sabAAan mina almathanee waalqurana alAAatheema (Ⅰ) - We have given thee seven of the oft-repeated (verses) and the great Qur'an. (Ⅱ) - We have given thee seven of the oft-repeated, and the mighty Koran. (Ⅲ) - وَلَقَدْ آتَيْنَاكَ سَبْعًا مِّنَ الْمَثَانِي وَالْقُرْآنَ الْعَظِيمَ (Ⅳ) - And We have bestowed upon thee the Seven Oft-repeated (verses) and the Grand Qur´an. (Ⅵ)

Let not your eyes strain after what We have allowed certain classes among them to enjoy, nor grieve for them; but lower your wing (in tenderness) to the believers,
- La tamuddanna AAaynayka ila ma mattaAAna bihi azwajan minhum wala tahzan AAalayhim waikhfid janahaka lilmumineena (Ⅰ) - Strain not thine eyes toward that which We cause some wedded pairs among them to enjoin, and be not grieved on their account, and lower thy wing (in tenderness) for the believers. (Ⅱ) - Stretch not thine eyes to that We have given pairs of them to enjoy; and do not sorrow for them, and lower thy wing unto the believers, (Ⅲ) - لَا تَمُدَّنَّ عَيْنَيْكَ إِلَىٰ مَا مَتَّعْنَا بِهِ أَزْوَاجًا مِّنْهُمْ وَلَا تَحْزَنْ عَلَيْهِمْ وَاخْفِضْ جَنَاحَكَ لِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ (Ⅳ) - Strain not thine eyes. (Wistfully) at what We have bestowed on certain classes of them, nor grieve over them: but lower thy wing (in gentleness) to the believers. (Ⅵ)

And say, "Verily, I, even I, am a plain Warner."
- Waqul innee ana alnnatheeru almubeenu (Ⅰ) - And say: Lo! I, even I, am a plain warner, (Ⅱ) - and say, ´Surely, I am the manifest warner.´ (Ⅲ) - وَقُلْ إِنِّي أَنَا النَّذِيرُ الْمُبِينُ (Ⅳ) - And say: "I am indeed he that warneth openly and without ambiguity,"- (Ⅵ)

Such as We sent down for those who make divisions,
- Kama anzalna AAala almuqtasimeena (Ⅰ) - Such as We send down for those who make division, (Ⅱ) - So We sent it down to the partitioners, (Ⅲ) - كَمَا أَنزَلْنَا عَلَى الْمُقْتَسِمِينَ (Ⅳ) - (Of just such wrath) as We sent down on those who divided (Scripture into arbitrary parts),- (Ⅵ)

Those who break the Quran into separate parts.
- Allatheena jaAAaloo alqurana AAideena (Ⅰ) - Those who break the Qur'an into parts. (Ⅱ) - who have broken the Koran into fragments. (Ⅲ) - الَّذِينَ جَعَلُوا الْقُرْآنَ عِضِينَ (Ⅳ) - (So also on such) as have made Qur´an into shreds (as they please). (Ⅵ)

Them, by your Lord! We shall question, one and all,
- Fawarabbika lanasalannahum ajmaAAeena (Ⅰ) - Them, by thy Lord, We shall question, every one, (Ⅱ) - Now by thy Lord, We shall surely question them all together (Ⅲ) - فَوَرَبِّكَ لَنَسْأَلَنَّهُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ (Ⅳ) - Therefore, by the Lord, We will, of a surety, call them to account, (Ⅵ)

About what they used to do.
- AAamma kanoo yaAAmaloona (Ⅰ) - Of what they used to do. (Ⅱ) - concerning that they were doing. (Ⅲ) - عَمَّا كَانُوا يَعْمَلُونَ (Ⅳ) - For all their deeds. (Ⅵ)

Therefore, proclaim what you are commanded, and withdraw from the idolaters.
- FaisdaAA bima tumaru waaAArid AAani almushrikeena (Ⅰ) - So proclaim that which thou art commanded, and withdraw from the idolaters. (Ⅱ) - So shout that thou art commanded and turn thou away from the idolaters. (Ⅲ) - فَاصْدَعْ بِمَا تُؤْمَرُ وَأَعْرِضْ عَنِ الْمُشْرِكِينَ (Ⅳ) - Therefore expound openly what thou art commanded, and turn away from those who join false gods with Allah. (Ⅵ)

Verily, We are enough defence for you against the scoffers.
- Inna kafaynaka almustahzieena (Ⅰ) - Lo! We defend thee from the scoffers, (Ⅱ) - We suffice thee against the mockers, (Ⅲ) - إِنَّا كَفَيْنَاكَ الْمُسْتَهْزِئِينَ (Ⅳ) - For sufficient are We unto thee against those who scoff,- (Ⅵ)

Who place other gods along with Allah; but they at length shall come to know!
- Allatheena yajAAaloona maAAa Allahi ilahan akhara fasawfa yaAAlamoona (Ⅰ) - Who set some other god along with Allah. But they will come to know. (Ⅱ) - even against those who set up with God another god. Certainly they will soon know! (Ⅲ) - الَّذِينَ يَجْعَلُونَ مَعَ اللَّهِ إِلَٰهًا آخَرَ ۚ فَسَوْفَ يَعْلَمُونَ (Ⅳ) - Those who adopt, with Allah, another god: but soon will they come to know. (Ⅵ)

And well know We that your breast was at times oppressed by what they say.
- Walaqad naAAlamu annaka yadeequ sadruka bima yaqooloona (Ⅰ) - Well know We that thy bosom is oppressed by what they say, (Ⅱ) - We know indeed thy breast is straitened by the things they say. (Ⅲ) - وَلَقَدْ نَعْلَمُ أَنَّكَ يَضِيقُ صَدْرُكَ بِمَا يَقُولُونَ (Ⅳ) - We do indeed know how thy heart is distressed at what they say. (Ⅵ)

But hymn the praises of your Lord, and be you of those who make prostrations (or obeisance).
- Fasabbih bihamdi rabbika wakun mina alssajideena (Ⅰ) - But hymn the praise of thy Lord, and be of those who make prostration (unto Him). (Ⅱ) - Proclaim thy Lord´s praise, and be of those that bow, (Ⅲ) - فَسَبِّحْ بِحَمْدِ رَبِّكَ وَكُن مِّنَ السَّاجِدِينَ (Ⅳ) - But celebrate the praises of thy Lord, and be of those who prostrate themselves in adoration. (Ⅵ)

And serve your Lord until there comes unto you the Hour that is certain (death).
- WaoAAbud rabbaka hatta yatiyaka alyaqeenu (Ⅰ) - And serve thy Lord till the Inevitable cometh unto thee. (Ⅱ) - and serve thy Lord, until the Certain comes to thee. (Ⅲ) - وَاعْبُدْ رَبَّكَ حَتَّىٰ يَأْتِيَكَ الْيَقِينُ (Ⅳ) - And serve thy Lord until there come unto thee the Hour that is Certain. (Ⅵ)
