3. 100  
يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا إِن تُطِيعُوا فَرِيقًا مِّنَ الَّذِينَ أُوتُوا الْكِتَابَ يَرُدُّوكُم بَعْدَ إِيمَانِكُمْ كَافِرِينَ
- Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoo in tuteeAAoo fareeqan mina allatheena ootoo alkitaba yaruddookum baAAda eemanikum kafireena (Ⅰ)
- How can you disbelieve while unto you are recited the revelations of Allah, and among you is His Messenger? But whoever takes tight hold on Allah, he is guided into the Straight Way. (Ⅱ)
- O ye who believe! If ye obey a party of those who have received the Scripture they will make you disbelievers after your belief. (Ⅲ)
- O believers, if you obey a sect of those who have been given the Book, they will turn you, after you have believed, into unbelievers. (Ⅳ)
- O ye who believe! If ye listen to a faction among the People of the Book, they would (indeed) render you apostates after ye have believed! (Ⅵ)
3. 101  
وَكَيْفَ تَكْفُرُونَ وَأَنتُمْ تُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْكُمْ آيَاتُ اللَّهِ وَفِيكُمْ رَسُولُهُ ۗ وَمَن يَعْتَصِم بِاللَّهِ فَقَدْ هُدِيَ إِلَىٰ صِرَاطٍ مُّسْتَقِيمٍ
- Wakayfa takfuroona waantum tutla AAalaykum ayatu Allahi wafeekum rasooluhu waman yaAAtasim biAllahi faqad hudiya ila siratin mustaqeemin (Ⅰ)
- O you who believe! Observe your duty to (or fear or respect) Allah with the right observance (or with the fear or respect that He deserves), and die not save as those who have surrendered (in a state of Islam). (Ⅱ)
- How can ye disbelieve, when it is ye unto whom Allah's revelations are recited, and His messenger is in your midst ? He who holdeth fast to Allah, he indeed is guided unto a right path. (Ⅲ)
- How can you disbelieve, seeing you have God´s signs recited to you, and His Messenger among you? Whosoever holds fast to God, he is guided to a straight path. (Ⅳ)
- And how would ye deny Faith while unto you are rehearsed the Signs of Allah, and among you Lives the Messenger? Whoever holds firmly to Allah will be shown a way that is straight. (Ⅵ)
3. 102  
يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا اتَّقُوا اللَّهَ حَقَّ تُقَاتِهِ وَلَا تَمُوتُنَّ إِلَّا وَأَنتُم مُّسْلِمُونَ
- Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoo ittaqoo Allaha haqqa tuqatihi wala tamootunna illa waantum muslimoona (Ⅰ)
- Hold fast, all together, to the cable of Allah, and do not separate (divide or part in sects); but remember the favours of Allah towards you, when you were enemies and He made friendship between your heart, and on the morrow you became brothers, by His grace. You were on the edge of an abyss of fire, but He rescued you there from. Thus does Allah show to you His revelations; perchance you may be guided; (Ⅱ)
- O ye who believe! Observe your duty to Allah with right observance, and die not save as those who have surrendered (unto Him) (Ⅲ)
- O believers, fear God as He should be feared, and see you do not die, save in surrender. (Ⅳ)
- O ye who believe! Fear Allah as He should be feared, and die not except in a state of Islam. (Ⅵ)
3. 103  
وَاعْتَصِمُوا بِحَبْلِ اللَّهِ جَمِيعًا وَلَا تَفَرَّقُوا ۚ وَاذْكُرُوا نِعْمَتَ اللَّهِ عَلَيْكُمْ إِذْ كُنتُمْ أَعْدَاءً فَأَلَّفَ بَيْنَ قُلُوبِكُمْ فَأَصْبَحْتُم بِنِعْمَتِهِ إِخْوَانًا وَكُنتُمْ عَلَىٰ شَفَا حُفْرَةٍ مِّنَ النَّارِ فَأَنقَذَكُم مِّنْهَا ۗ كَذَٰلِكَ يُبَيِّنُ اللَّهُ لَكُمْ آيَاتِهِ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَهْتَدُونَ
- WaiAAtasimoo bihabli Allahi jameeAAan wala tafarraqoo waothkuroo niAAmata Allahi AAalaykum ith kuntum aAAdaan faallafa bayna quloobikum faasbahtum biniAAmatihi ikhwanan wakuntum AAala shafa hufratin mina alnnari faanqathakum minha kathalika yubayyinu Allahu lakum ayatihi laAAallakum tahtadoona (Ⅰ)
- And that there may spring from you a nation who invite to goodness, and bid right conduct, and forbid what is wrong (or indecent); these are the successful. (Ⅱ)
- And hold fast, all of you together, to the cable of Allah, and do not separate. And remember Allah's favour unto you: How ye were enemies and He made friendship between your hearts so that ye became as brothers by His grace; and (how) ye were upon the brink of an abyss of fire, and He did save you from it. Thus Allah maketh clear His revelations unto you, that haply ye may be guided, (Ⅲ)
- And hold you fast to God´s bond, together, and do not scatter; remember God´s blessing upon you when you were enemies, and He brought your hearts together, so that by His blessing you became brothers. You were upon the brink of a pit of Fire, and He delivered you from it; even so God makes clear to you His signs; so haply you will be guided. (Ⅳ)
- And hold fast, all together, by the rope which Allah (stretches out for you), and be not divided among yourselves; and remember with gratitude Allah´s favour on you; for ye were enemies and He joined your hearts in love, so that by His Grace, ye became brethren; and ye were on the brink of the pit of Fire, and He saved you from it. Thus doth Allah make His Signs clear to you: That ye may be guided. (Ⅵ)
3. 104  
وَلْتَكُن مِّنكُمْ أُمَّةٌ يَدْعُونَ إِلَى الْخَيْرِ وَيَأْمُرُونَ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ وَيَنْهَوْنَ عَنِ الْمُنكَرِ ۚ وَأُولَٰئِكَ هُمُ الْمُفْلِحُونَ
- Waltakun minkum ommatun yadAAoona ila alkhayri wayamuroona bialmaAAroofi wayanhawna AAani almunkari waolaika humu almuflihoona (Ⅰ)
- Be not like those who parted in sects and disagreed after there came to them manifest signs; for them is mighty woe. (Ⅱ)
- And there may spring from you a nation who invite to goodness, and enjoin right conduct and forbid indecency. Such are they who are successful. (Ⅲ)
- Let there be one nation of you, calling to good, and bidding to honour, and forbidding dishonour; those are the prosperers. (Ⅳ)
- Let there arise out of you a band of people inviting to all that is good, enjoining what is right, and forbidding what is wrong: They are the ones to attain felicity. (Ⅵ)
3. 105  
وَلَا تَكُونُوا كَالَّذِينَ تَفَرَّقُوا وَاخْتَلَفُوا مِن بَعْدِ مَا جَاءَهُمُ الْبَيِّنَاتُ ۚ وَأُولَٰئِكَ لَهُمْ عَذَابٌ عَظِيمٌ
- Wala takoonoo kaallatheena tafarraqoo waikhtalafoo min baAAdi ma jaahumu albayyinatu waolaika lahum AAathabun AAatheemun (Ⅰ)
- On the day when faces shall be whitened and faces shall be blackened. As for those whose faces are blackened, - "Did you disbelieve after your faith, then taste the torment for your disbelief.” (Ⅱ)
- And be ye not as those who separated and disputed after the clear proofs had come unto them. For such there is an awful doom, (Ⅲ)
- Be not as those who scattered and fell into variance after the clear signs came to them; those there awaits a mighty chastisement, (Ⅳ)
- Be not like those who are divided amongst themselves and fall into disputations after receiving Clear Signs: For them is a dreadful penalty,- (Ⅵ)
3. 106  
يَوْمَ تَبْيَضُّ وُجُوهٌ وَتَسْوَدُّ وُجُوهٌ ۚ فَأَمَّا الَّذِينَ اسْوَدَّتْ وُجُوهُهُمْ أَكَفَرْتُم بَعْدَ إِيمَانِكُمْ فَذُوقُوا الْعَذَابَ بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَكْفُرُونَ
- Yawma tabyaddu wujoohun wataswaddu wujoohun faamma allatheena iswaddat wujoohuhum akafartum baAAda eemanikum fathooqoo alAAathaba bima kuntum takfuroona (Ⅰ)
- But as for those whose faces are whitened, in Allah´s mercy they shall dwell forever. (Ⅱ)
- On the Day when (some) faces will be whitened and (some) faces will be blackened; and as for those whose faces have been blackened, it will be said unto them: Disbelieved ye after your (profession of) belief ? Then taste the punishment for that ye disbelieved. (Ⅲ)
- the day when some faces are blackened, and some faces whitened. As for those whose faces are blackened -- ´Did you disbelieve after you had believed? Then taste the chastisement for that you disbelieved!´ (Ⅳ)
- On the Day when some faces will be (lit up with) white, and some faces will be (in the gloom of) black: To those whose faces will be black, (will be said): "Did ye reject Faith after accepting it? Taste then the penalty for rejecting Faith." (Ⅵ)
3. 107  
وَأَمَّا الَّذِينَ ابْيَضَّتْ وُجُوهُهُمْ فَفِي رَحْمَةِ اللَّهِ هُمْ فِيهَا خَالِدُونَ
- Waamma allatheena ibyaddat wujoohuhum fafee rahmati Allahi hum feeha khalidoona (Ⅰ)
- These are the revelations of Allah. We recite them to you in truth, for Allah desires not injustice unto the worlds (or His creatures). (Ⅱ)
- And as for those whose faces have been whitened, in the mercy of Allah they dwell for ever. (Ⅲ)
- But as for those whose faces are whitened, they shall be in God´s mercy, therein dwelling forever. (Ⅳ)
- But those whose faces will be (lit with) white,- they will be in (the light of) Allah´s mercy: therein to dwell (for ever). (Ⅵ)
3. 108  
تِلْكَ آيَاتُ اللَّهِ نَتْلُوهَا عَلَيْكَ بِالْحَقِّ ۗ وَمَا اللَّهُ يُرِيدُ ظُلْمًا لِّلْعَالَمِينَ
- Tilka ayatu Allahi natlooha AAalayka bialhaqqi wama Allahu yureedu thulman lilAAalameena (Ⅰ)
- Allah´s is what is in the heavens and what is in the earth, and unto Allah do all affairs return. (Ⅱ)
- These are revelations of Allah. We recite them unto thee in truth. Allah willeth no injustice to (His) creatures. (Ⅲ)
- These are the signs of God We recite to thee in truth, and God desires not any injustice to living beings. (Ⅳ)
- These are the Signs of Allah: We rehearse them to thee in Truth: And Allah means no injustice to any of His creatures. (Ⅵ)
3. 109  
وَلِلَّهِ مَا فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَمَا فِي الْأَرْضِ ۚ وَإِلَى اللَّهِ تُرْجَعُ الْأُمُورُ
- Walillahi ma fee alssamawati wama fee alardi waila Allahi turjaAAu alomooru (Ⅰ)
- You were the best of nations brought forth unto man. You bid what is reasonable, and forbid what is inappropriate (indecent, wrong), believing in Allah. Had the people of the Book believed, it would have been better for them. There are believers among them, though most of them are sinners. (Ⅱ)
- Unto Allah belongeth whatsoever is in the heavens and whatsoever is in the earth; and unto Allah all things are returned. (Ⅲ)
- To God belongs all that is in the heavens and in the earth, and unto Him all matters are returned. (Ⅳ)
- To Allah belongs all that is in the heavens and on earth: To Him do all questions go back (for decision). (Ⅵ)
3. 110  
كُنتُمْ خَيْرَ أُمَّةٍ أُخْرِجَتْ لِلنَّاسِ تَأْمُرُونَ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ وَتَنْهَوْنَ عَنِ الْمُنكَرِ وَتُؤْمِنُونَ بِاللَّهِ ۗ وَلَوْ آمَنَ أَهْلُ الْكِتَابِ لَكَانَ خَيْرًا لَّهُم ۚ مِّنْهُمُ الْمُؤْمِنُونَ وَأَكْثَرُهُمُ الْفَاسِقُونَ
- Kuntum khayra ommatin okhrijat lilnnasi tamuroona bialmaAAroofi watanhawna AAani almunkari watuminoona biAllahi walaw amana ahlu alkitabi lakana khayran lahum minhumu almuminoona waaktharuhumu alfasiqoona (Ⅰ)
- They shall surely not harm you save a trifle; and if they fight you, they shall show you their backs (flee), then they shall not be helped. (Ⅱ)
- Ye are the best community that hath been raised up for mankind. Ye enjoin right conduct and forbid indecency; and ye believe in Allah. And if the People of the Scripture had believed it had been better for them. Some of them are believers; but most of them are evil-livers. (Ⅲ)
- You are the best nation ever brought forth to men, bidding to honour, and forbidding dishonour, and believing in God. Had the People of the Book believed, it were better for them; some of them are believers, but the most of them are ungodly. (Ⅳ)
- Ye are the best of peoples, evolved for mankind, enjoining what is right, forbidding what is wrong, and believing in Allah. If only the People of the Book had faith, it were best for them: among them are some who have faith, but most of them are perverted transgressors. (Ⅵ)
3. 111  
لَن يَضُرُّوكُمْ إِلَّا أَذًى ۖ وَإِن يُقَاتِلُوكُمْ يُوَلُّوكُمُ الْأَدْبَارَ ثُمَّ لَا يُنصَرُونَ
- Lan yadurrookum illa athan wain yuqatilookum yuwallookumu aladbara thumma la yunsaroona (Ⅰ)
- They are smitten with abasement wherever they be found, save for the rope of Allah and the rope of man (the ties of the covenant); and they draw on themselves wrath from Allah and are smitten with wretchedness; that is because they did disbelieve in Allah´s signs, and killed the prophets wrongfully. That is because they did rebel and transgress. (Ⅱ)
- They will not harm you save a trifling hurt, and if they fight against you they will turn and flee. And afterward they will not be helped. (Ⅲ)
- They will not harm you, except a little hurt; and if they fight with you, they will turn on you their backs; then they will not be helped. (Ⅳ)
- They will do you no harm, barring a trifling annoyance; if they come out to fight you, they will show you their backs, and no help shall they get. (Ⅵ)
3. 112  
ضُرِبَتْ عَلَيْهِمُ الذِّلَّةُ أَيْنَ مَا ثُقِفُوا إِلَّا بِحَبْلٍ مِّنَ اللَّهِ وَحَبْلٍ مِّنَ النَّاسِ وَبَاءُوا بِغَضَبٍ مِّنَ اللَّهِ وَضُرِبَتْ عَلَيْهِمُ الْمَسْكَنَةُ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمْ كَانُوا يَكْفُرُونَ بِآيَاتِ اللَّهِ وَيَقْتُلُونَ الْأَنبِيَاءَ بِغَيْرِ حَقٍّ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ بِمَا عَصَوا وَّكَانُوا يَعْتَدُونَ
- Duribat AAalayhimu alththillatu ayna ma thuqifoo illa bihablin mina Allahi wahablin mina alnnasi wabaoo bighadabin mina Allahi waduribat AAalayhimu almaskanatu thalika biannahum kanoo yakfuroona biayati Allahi wayaqtuloona alanbiyaa bighayri haqqin thalika bima AAasaw wakanoo yaAAtadoona (Ⅰ)
- They are not all alike. Of the people of the Book there is an upright community, reciting the revelations of Allah throughout the night, falling prostrate (in Surrender). (Ⅱ)
- Ignominy shall be their portion wheresoever they are found save (where they grasp) a rope from Allah and a rope from men. They have incurred anger from their Lord, and wretchedness is laid upon them. That is because they used to disbelieve the revelations of Allah, and slew the prophets wrongfully. That is because they were rebellious and used to transgress. (Ⅲ)
- Abasement shall be pitched on them, wherever they are come upon, except they be in a bond of God, and a bond of the people; they will be laden with the burden of God´s anger, and poverty shall be pitched on them; that, because they disbelieved in God´s signs, and slew the Prophets without right; that, for that they acted rebelliously and were transgressors. (Ⅳ)
- Shame is pitched over them (Like a tent) wherever they are found, except when under a covenant (of protection) from Allah and from men; they draw on themselves wrath from Allah, and pitched over them is (the tent of) destitution. This because they rejected the Signs of Allah, and slew the prophets in defiance of right; this because they rebelled and transgressed beyond bounds. (Ⅵ)
3. 113  
۞ لَيْسُوا سَوَاءً ۗ مِّنْ أَهْلِ الْكِتَابِ أُمَّةٌ قَائِمَةٌ يَتْلُونَ آيَاتِ اللَّهِ آنَاءَ اللَّيْلِ وَهُمْ يَسْجُدُونَ
- Laysoo sawaan min ahli alkitabi ommatun qaimatun yatloona ayati Allahi anaa allayli wahum yasjudoona (Ⅰ)
- They believe in Allah, and in the last day, and bid intelligent (or right) conduct, and forbid what is stupid (or wrong), and vie with one another in good works; these are among the righteous. (Ⅱ)
- They are not all alike. Of the People of the Scripture there is a staunch community who recite the revelations of Allah in the night season, falling prostrate (before Him). (Ⅲ)
- Yet they are not all alike; some of the People of the Book are a nation upstanding, that recite God´s signs in the watches of the night, bowing themselves, (Ⅳ)
- Not all of them are alike: Of the People of the Book are a portion that stand (For the right): They rehearse the Signs of Allah all night long, and they prostrate themselves in adoration. (Ⅵ)
3. 114  
يُؤْمِنُونَ بِاللَّهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الْآخِرِ وَيَأْمُرُونَ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ وَيَنْهَوْنَ عَنِ الْمُنكَرِ وَيُسَارِعُونَ فِي الْخَيْرَاتِ وَأُولَٰئِكَ مِنَ الصَّالِحِينَ
- Yuminoona biAllahi waalyawmi alakhiri wayamuroona bialmaAAroofi wayanhawna AAani almunkari wayusariAAoona fee alkhayrati waolaika mina alssaliheena (Ⅰ)
- What good they do, surely Allah will not deny its merit, for Allah is Aware of those who fear (or repel) evil. (Ⅱ)
- They believe in Allah and the Last Day, and enjoin right conduct and forbid indecency, and vie one with another in good works. These are of the righteous. (Ⅲ)
- believing in God and in the Last Day, bidding to honour and forbidding dishonour, vying one with the other in good works; those are of the righteous. (Ⅳ)
- They believe in Allah and the Last Day; they enjoin what is right, and forbid what is wrong; and they hasten (in emulation) in (all) good works: They are in the ranks of the righteous. (Ⅵ)
3. 115  
وَمَا يَفْعَلُوا مِنْ خَيْرٍ فَلَن يُكْفَرُوهُ ۗ وَاللَّهُ عَلِيمٌ بِالْمُتَّقِينَ
- Wama yafAAaloo min khayrin falan yukfaroohu waAllahu AAaleemun bialmuttaqeena (Ⅰ)
- Verily, those who disbelieve, their wealth and children are of no service to them against Allah; they are the rightful owners of the Fire, and they shall dwell therein. (Ⅱ)
- And whatever good they do, they will not be denied the meed thereof. Allah is Aware of those who ward off (evil). (Ⅲ)
- And whatsoever good you do, you shall not be denied the just reward of it; and God knows the godfearing. (Ⅳ)
- Of the good that they do, nothing will be rejected of them; for Allah knoweth well those that do right. (Ⅵ)
3. 116  
إِنَّ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا لَن تُغْنِيَ عَنْهُمْ أَمْوَالُهُمْ وَلَا أَوْلَادُهُم مِّنَ اللَّهِ شَيْئًا ۖ وَأُولَٰئِكَ أَصْحَابُ النَّارِ ۚ هُمْ فِيهَا خَالِدُونَ
- Inna allatheena kafaroo lan tughniya AAanhum amwaluhum wala awladuhum mina Allahi shayan waolaika ashabu alnnari hum feeha khalidoona (Ⅰ)
- The likeness of what they spend in this life of the world is as the likeness of wind wherein is a cold blast that falls upon the harvest of a people who have wronged themselves and destroys it. It is not Allah who wrongs them, but it is themselves they wrong. (Ⅱ)
- Lo! the riches and the progeny of those who disbelieve will not avail them aught against Allah; and such are rightful owners of the Fire. They will abide therein. (Ⅲ)
- As for the unbelievers, their riches shall not avail them, neither their children, against God; those are the inhabitants of the Fire, therein dwelling forever. (Ⅳ)
- Those who reject Faith,- neither their possessions nor their (numerous) progeny will avail them aught against Allah: They will be companions of the Fire,-dwelling therein (for ever). (Ⅵ)
3. 117  
مَثَلُ مَا يُنفِقُونَ فِي هَٰذِهِ الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا كَمَثَلِ رِيحٍ فِيهَا صِرٌّ أَصَابَتْ حَرْثَ قَوْمٍ ظَلَمُوا أَنفُسَهُمْ فَأَهْلَكَتْهُ ۚ وَمَا ظَلَمَهُمُ اللَّهُ وَلَٰكِنْ أَنفُسَهُمْ يَظْلِمُونَ
- Mathalu ma yunfiqoona fee hathihi alhayati alddunya kamathali reehin feeha sirrun asabat hartha qawmin thalamoo anfusahum faahlakathu wama thalamahumu Allahu walakin anfusahum yathlimoona (Ⅰ)
- O you who believe! Take not for intimates others than your own folk, who would not fail to ruin you; they love to obstruct you. Hatred is shown by their mouths; but what their breasts conceal is greater still. We have made manifest to you Our revelations, did you but understand. (Ⅱ)
- The likeness of that which they spend in this life of the world is as the likeness of a biting, icy wind which smiteth the harvest of a people who have wronged themselves, and devastateth it. Allah wronged them not, but they do wrong themselves. (Ⅲ)
- The likeness of that they expend in this present life is as the likeness of a freezing blast that smites the tillage of a people who wronged themselves, and it destroyed that; God wronged them not, but themselves they wronged. (Ⅳ)
- What they spend in the life of this (material) world May be likened to a wind which brings a nipping frost: It strikes and destroys the harvest of men who have wronged their own souls: it is not Allah that hath wronged them, but they wrong themselves. (Ⅵ)
3. 118  
يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا لَا تَتَّخِذُوا بِطَانَةً مِّن دُونِكُمْ لَا يَأْلُونَكُمْ خَبَالًا وَدُّوا مَا عَنِتُّمْ قَدْ بَدَتِ الْبَغْضَاءُ مِنْ أَفْوَاهِهِمْ وَمَا تُخْفِي صُدُورُهُمْ أَكْبَرُ ۚ قَدْ بَيَّنَّا لَكُمُ الْآيَاتِ ۖ إِن كُنتُمْ تَعْقِلُونَ
- Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoo la tattakhithoo bitanatan min doonikum la yaloonakum khabalan waddoo ma AAanittum qad badati albaghdao min afwahihim wama tukhfee sudooruhum akbaru qad bayyanna lakumu alayati in kuntum taAAqiloona (Ⅰ)
- Verily, it is you who love them, but they love not you; and you believe in the whole of the Scripture. But when they meet you they say, "We believe;" and when they go aside they bite their fingertips at you through rage. Say, "Die in your rage, for Allah does know what is in your heart." (Ⅱ)
- O ye who believe! Take not for intimates others than your own folk, who would spare no pains to ruin you; they love to hamper you. Hatred is revealed by (the utterance of) their mouths, but that which their breasts hide is greater. We have made plain for you the revelations if ye will understand. (Ⅲ)
- O believers, take not for your intimates outside yourselves such men spare nothing to ruin you; they yearn for you to suffer Hatred has already shown itself of their mouths, and what their breasts conceal is yet greater. Now We have made clear to you the signs, if you understand. (Ⅳ)
- O ye who believe! Take not into your intimacy those outside your ranks: They will not fail to corrupt you. They only desire your ruin: Rank hatred has already appeared from their mouths: What their hearts conceal is far worse. We have made plain to you the Signs, if ye have wisdom. (Ⅵ)
3. 119  
هَا أَنتُمْ أُولَاءِ تُحِبُّونَهُمْ وَلَا يُحِبُّونَكُمْ وَتُؤْمِنُونَ بِالْكِتَابِ كُلِّهِ وَإِذَا لَقُوكُمْ قَالُوا آمَنَّا وَإِذَا خَلَوْا عَضُّوا عَلَيْكُمُ الْأَنَامِلَ مِنَ الْغَيْظِ ۚ قُلْ مُوتُوا بِغَيْظِكُمْ ۗ إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَلِيمٌ بِذَاتِ الصُّدُورِ
- Haantum olai tuhibboonahum wala yuhibboonakum watuminoona bialkitabi kullihi waitha laqookum qaloo amanna waitha khalaw AAaddoo AAalaykumu alanamila mina alghaythi qul mootoo bighaythikum inna Allaha AAaleemun bithati alssudoori (Ⅰ)
- If good luck touches you it is bad for them, but if bad luck befalls you they rejoice therein; yet if you are patient and fear, their tricks shall not harm you. Lo, Allah is surrounding what they do. (Ⅱ)
- Lo! ye are those who love them though they love you not, and ye believe in all the Scripture. When they fall in with you they say: We believe; but when they go apart they bite their finger-tips at you, for rage. Say: Perish in your rage! Lo! Allah is Aware of what is hidden in (your) breasts. (Ⅲ)
- Ha, there you are; you love them, and they love you not; you believe in the Book, all of it, and when they meet you they say, ´We believe,´ but when they go privily, they bite at you their fingers, enraged. Say: ´Die in your rage; God knows the thoughts in the breasts.´ (Ⅳ)
- Ah! ye are those who love them, but they love you not,- though ye believe in the whole of the Book. When they meet you, they say, "We believe": But when they are alone, they bite off the very tips of their fingers at you in their rage. Say: "Perish in you rage; Allah knoweth well all the secrets of the heart." (Ⅵ)
3. 120  
إِن تَمْسَسْكُمْ حَسَنَةٌ تَسُؤْهُمْ وَإِن تُصِبْكُمْ سَيِّئَةٌ يَفْرَحُوا بِهَا ۖ وَإِن تَصْبِرُوا وَتَتَّقُوا لَا يَضُرُّكُمْ كَيْدُهُمْ شَيْئًا ۗ إِنَّ اللَّهَ بِمَا يَعْمَلُونَ مُحِيطٌ
- In tamsaskum hasanatun tasuhum wain tusibkum sayyiatun yafrahoo biha wain tasbiroo watattaqoo la yadurrukum kayduhum shayan inna Allaha bima yaAAmaloona muheetun (Ⅰ)
- When you did set forth early from your household to settle for the believers the positions for battle, Allah was Hearer and Knower. (Ⅱ)
- If a lucky chance befall you, it is evil unto them, and if disaster strike you they rejoice thereat. But if ye persevere and keep from evil their guile will never harm you. Lo! Allah is Surrounding what they do. (Ⅲ)
- If you are visited by good fortune, it vexes them; but if you are smitten by evil, they rejoice at it. Yet if you are patient and godfearing, their guile will hurt you nothing; God encompasses the things they do. (Ⅳ)
- If aught that is good befalls you, it grieves them; but if some misfortune overtakes you, they rejoice at it. But if ye are constant and do right, not the least harm will their cunning do to you; for Allah Compasseth round about all that they do. (Ⅵ)
3. 121  
وَإِذْ غَدَوْتَ مِنْ أَهْلِكَ تُبَوِّئُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ مَقَاعِدَ لِلْقِتَالِ ۗ وَاللَّهُ سَمِيعٌ عَلِيمٌ
- Waith ghadawta min ahlika tubawwio almumineena maqaAAida lilqitali waAllahu sameeAAun AAaleemun (Ⅰ)
- When two companies of you almost fell away in cowardice but Allah was their Guardian (or Protecting Friend), for on Allah surely do believers put their trust. (Ⅱ)
- And when thou settedst forth at daybreak from thy housefolk to assign to the believers their positions for the battle, Allah was Hearer, Knower. (Ⅲ)
- When thou wentest forth at dawn from thy people to lodge the believers in their pitches for the battle -- God is All-hearing, All-knowing -- (Ⅳ)
- Remember that morning Thou didst leave Thy household (early) to post the faithful at their stations for battle: And Allah heareth and knoweth all things: (Ⅵ)
3. 122  
إِذْ هَمَّت طَّائِفَتَانِ مِنكُمْ أَن تَفْشَلَا وَاللَّهُ وَلِيُّهُمَا ۗ وَعَلَى اللَّهِ فَلْيَتَوَكَّلِ الْمُؤْمِنُونَ
- Ith hammat taifatani minkum an tafshala waAllahu waliyyuhuma waAAala Allahi falyatawakkali almuminoona (Ⅰ)
- Allah gave you victory at Badr when you were in a contemptible force; so do your duty to Allah in thankfulness. (Ⅱ)
- When two parties of you almost fell away, and Allah was their Protecting Friend. In Allah let believers put their trust. (Ⅲ)
- when two parties of you were about to lose heart, though God was their Protector -- and in God let the believers put all their trust -- (Ⅳ)
- Remember two of your parties Meditated cowardice; but Allah was their protector, and in Allah should the faithful (Ever) put their trust. (Ⅵ)
3. 123  
وَلَقَدْ نَصَرَكُمُ اللَّهُ بِبَدْرٍ وَأَنتُمْ أَذِلَّةٌ ۖ فَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَشْكُرُونَ
- Walaqad nasarakumu Allahu bibadrin waantum athillatun faittaqoo Allaha laAAallakum tashkuroona (Ⅰ)
- When you did say unto the believers, "Is it not enough for you that your Lord supports you with three thousand of the angels sent down from on high? (Ⅱ)
- Allah had already given you the victory at Badr, when ye were contemptible. So observe your duty to Allah in order that ye may be thankful. (Ⅲ)
- and God most surely helped you at Badr, when you were utterly abject. So fear God, and haply you Will be thankful. (Ⅳ)
- Allah had helped you at Badr, when ye were a contemptible little force; then fear Allah; thus May ye show your gratitude. (Ⅵ)
3. 124  
إِذْ تَقُولُ لِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ أَلَن يَكْفِيَكُمْ أَن يُمِدَّكُمْ رَبُّكُم بِثَلَاثَةِ آلَافٍ مِّنَ الْمَلَائِكَةِ مُنزَلِينَ
- Ith taqoolu lilmumineena alan yakfiyakum an yumiddakum rabbukum bithalathati alafin mina almalaikati munzaleena (Ⅰ)
- Yea, if you persevere and avoid evil, and the enemy attacks you suddenly, your Lord will assist you with five thousand of His angels with force. (Ⅱ)
- When thou didst say unto the believers: Is it not sufficient for you that your Lord should support you with three thousand angels sent down (to your help) ? (Ⅲ)
- When thou saidst to the believers, ´Is it not enough for you that your Lord should reinforce you with three thousand angels sent down upon you? (Ⅳ)
- Remember thou saidst to the Faithful: "Is it not enough for you that Allah should help you with three thousand angels (Specially) sent down? (Ⅵ)
3. 125  
بَلَىٰ ۚ إِن تَصْبِرُوا وَتَتَّقُوا وَيَأْتُوكُم مِّن فَوْرِهِمْ هَٰذَا يُمْدِدْكُمْ رَبُّكُم بِخَمْسَةِ آلَافٍ مِّنَ الْمَلَائِكَةِ مُسَوِّمِينَ
- Bala in tasbiroo watattaqoo wayatookum min fawrihim hatha yumdidkum rabbukum bikhamsati alafin mina almalaikati musawwimeena (Ⅰ)
- Allah ordained this only as glad tidings to comfort your heart withal, for victory comes but from Allah, the Mighty, the Wise - (Ⅱ)
- Nay, but if ye persevere, and keep from evil, and (the enemy) attack you suddenly, your Lord will help you with five thousand angels sweeping on. (Ⅲ)
- Yea; if you are patient and godfearing, and the foe come against you instantly, your Lord will reinforce you with five thousand swooping angels.´ (Ⅳ)
- "Yea, - if ye remain firm, and act aright, even if the enemy should rush here on you in hot haste, your Lord would help you with five thousand angels Making a terrific onslaught. (Ⅵ)
3. 126  
وَمَا جَعَلَهُ اللَّهُ إِلَّا بُشْرَىٰ لَكُمْ وَلِتَطْمَئِنَّ قُلُوبُكُم بِهِ ۗ وَمَا النَّصْرُ إِلَّا مِنْ عِندِ اللَّهِ الْعَزِيزِ الْحَكِيمِ
- Wama jaAAalahu Allahu illa bushra lakum walitatmainna quloobukum bihi wama alnnasru illa min AAindi Allahi alAAazeezi alhakeemi (Ⅰ)
- That He may cut off some of the faithless, or overwhelm them that they may retire frustrated (from their purpose). (Ⅱ)
- Allah ordained this only as a message of good cheer for you, and that thereby your hearts might be at rest - Victory cometh only from Allah, the Mighty, the Wise - (Ⅲ)
- God wrought this not, save as good tiding to you, and that your hearts might be at rest; help comes only from God the All-mighty, the All-wise; (Ⅳ)
- Allah made it but a message of hope for you, and an assurance to your hearts: (in any case) there is no help except from Allah. The Exalted, the Wise: (Ⅵ)
3. 127  
لِيَقْطَعَ طَرَفًا مِّنَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا أَوْ يَكْبِتَهُمْ فَيَنقَلِبُوا خَائِبِينَ
- LiyaqtaAAa tarafan mina allatheena kafaroo aw yakbitahum fayanqaliboo khaibeena (Ⅰ)
- It (the concern, responsibility or decision) is not for you whether He turns towards them again or punish them; for, verily, they are evil-doers. (Ⅱ)
- That He may cut off a part of those who disbelieve, or overwhelm them so that they retire, frustrated. (Ⅲ)
- and that He might cut off a part of the unbelievers or frustrate them, so that they turned in their tracks, disappointed. (Ⅳ)
- That He might cut off a fringe of the Unbelievers or expose them to infamy, and they should then be turned back, frustrated of their purpose. (Ⅵ)
3. 128  
لَيْسَ لَكَ مِنَ الْأَمْرِ شَيْءٌ أَوْ يَتُوبَ عَلَيْهِمْ أَوْ يُعَذِّبَهُمْ فَإِنَّهُمْ ظَالِمُونَ
- Laysa laka mina alamri shayon aw yatooba AAalayhim aw yuAAaththibahum fainnahum thalimoona (Ⅰ)
- To Allah belongs whatever is in the heavens and in the earth. He forgives whom He will, and punishes whom He will. Allah is Forgiving and Merciful. (Ⅱ)
- It is no concern at all of thee (Muhammad) whether He relent toward them or punish them; for they are evil-doers. (Ⅲ)
- No part of the matter is thine, whether He turns towards them again, or chastises them; for they are evildoers. (Ⅳ)
- Not for thee, (but for Allah), is the decision: Whether He turn in mercy to them, or punish them; for they are indeed wrong-doers. (Ⅵ)
3. 129  
وَلِلَّهِ مَا فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَمَا فِي الْأَرْضِ ۚ يَغْفِرُ لِمَن يَشَاءُ وَيُعَذِّبُ مَن يَشَاءُ ۚ وَاللَّهُ غَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ
- Walillahi ma fee alssamawati wama fee alardi yaghfiru liman yashao wayuAAaththibu man yashao waAllahu ghafoorun raheemun (Ⅰ)
- O you who believe! Devour not usury doubling and redoubling, but do your duty to Allah that you may be successful. (Ⅱ)
- Unto Allah belongeth whatsoever is in the heavens and whatsoever is in the earth. He forgiveth whom He will, and punisheth whom He will. Allah is Forgiving, Merciful. (Ⅲ)
- To God belongs all that is in the heavens and earth; He forgives whom He will, and chastises whom He will; God is All-forgiving, All-compassionate. (Ⅳ)
- To Allah belongeth all that is in the heavens and on earth. He forgiveth whom He pleaseth and punisheth whom He pleaseth; but Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful. (Ⅵ)
3. 130  
يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا لَا تَأْكُلُوا الرِّبَا أَضْعَافًا مُّضَاعَفَةً ۖ وَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُفْلِحُونَ
- Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoo la takuloo alrriba adAAafan mudaAAafatan waittaqoo Allaha laAAallakum tuflihoona (Ⅰ)
- Avoid the fire which is prepared for the faithless, (Ⅱ)
- O ye who believe! Devour not usury, doubling and quadrupling (the sum lent). Observe your duty to Allah, that ye may be successful. (Ⅲ)
- O believers, devour not usury, doubled and redoubled, and fear you God; haply so you will prosper. (Ⅳ)
- O ye who believe! Devour not usury, doubled and multiplied; but fear Allah; that ye may (really) prosper. (Ⅵ)
3. 131  
وَاتَّقُوا النَّارَ الَّتِي أُعِدَّتْ لِلْكَافِرِينَ
- Waittaqoo alnnara allatee oAAiddat lilkafireena (Ⅰ)
- And obey Allah and His Messenger, that you may get mercy. (Ⅱ)
- And ward off (from yourselves) the Fire prepared for disbelievers. (Ⅲ)
- And fear the Fire prepared for the unbelievers, (Ⅳ)
- Fear the Fire, which is repaired for those who reject Faith: (Ⅵ)
3. 132  
وَأَطِيعُوا اللَّهَ وَالرَّسُولَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُرْحَمُونَ
- WaateeAAoo Allaha waalrrasoola laAAallakum turhamoona (Ⅰ)
- And vie with one another for pardon from your Lord, and for Paradise, the breadth of which is as the heaven and the earth, prepared for those who fear (or avoid) evil. (Ⅱ)
- And obey Allah and the messenger, that ye may find mercy. (Ⅲ)
- and obey God and the Messenger; haply so you will find mercy. (Ⅳ)
- And obey Allah and the Messenger; that ye may obtain mercy. (Ⅵ)
3. 133  
۞ وَسَارِعُوا إِلَىٰ مَغْفِرَةٍ مِّن رَّبِّكُمْ وَجَنَّةٍ عَرْضُهَا السَّمَاوَاتُ وَالْأَرْضُ أُعِدَّتْ لِلْمُتَّقِينَ
- WasariAAoo ila maghfiratin min rabbikum wajannatin AAarduha alssamawatu waalardu oAAiddat lilmuttaqeena (Ⅰ)
- Those who give charity, both in prosperity and in adversity, for those who control their rage, and those who are forgiving towards mankind. Allah loves the good. (Ⅱ)
- And vie one with another for forgiveness from your Lord, and for a paradise as wide as are the heavens and the earth, prepared for those who ward off (evil); (Ⅲ)
- And vie with one another, hastening to forgiveness from your Lord, and to a garden whose breadth is as the heavens and earth, prepared for the godfearing (Ⅳ)
- Be quick in the race for forgiveness from your Lord, and for a Garden whose width is that (of the whole) of the heavens and of the earth, prepared for the righteous,- (Ⅵ)
3. 134  
الَّذِينَ يُنفِقُونَ فِي السَّرَّاءِ وَالضَّرَّاءِ وَالْكَاظِمِينَ الْغَيْظَ وَالْعَافِينَ عَنِ النَّاسِ ۗ وَاللَّهُ يُحِبُّ الْمُحْسِنِينَ
- Allatheena yunfiqoona fee alssarrai waalddarrai waalkathimeena alghaytha waalAAafeena AAani alnnasi waAllahu yuhibbu almuhsineena (Ⅰ)
- Those who when they do an evil, or wrong themselves, remember Allah, and ask forgiveness for their sins - and who forgives sins save Allah alone? - And do not knowingly repeat the wrong they did. (Ⅱ)
- Those who spend (of that which Allah hath given them) in ease and in adversity, those who control their wrath and are forgiving toward mankind; Allah loveth the good; (Ⅲ)
- who expend in prosperity and adversity in almsgiving, and restrain their rage, and pardon the offences of their fellowmen; and God loves the good-doers; (Ⅳ)
- Those who spend (freely), whether in prosperity, or in adversity; who restrain anger, and pardon (all) men;- for Allah loves those who do good;- (Ⅵ)
3. 135  
وَالَّذِينَ إِذَا فَعَلُوا فَاحِشَةً أَوْ ظَلَمُوا أَنفُسَهُمْ ذَكَرُوا اللَّهَ فَاسْتَغْفَرُوا لِذُنُوبِهِمْ وَمَن يَغْفِرُ الذُّنُوبَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَلَمْ يُصِرُّوا عَلَىٰ مَا فَعَلُوا وَهُمْ يَعْلَمُونَ
- Waallatheena itha faAAaloo fahishatan aw thalamoo anfusahum thakaroo Allaha faistaghfaroo lithunoobihim waman yaghfiru alththunooba illa Allahu walam yusirroo AAala ma faAAaloo wahum yaAAlamoona (Ⅰ)
- The reward for such is forgiveness from their Lord, and gardens beneath which rivers flow, dwelling therein for ever - an excellent reward for those who strive. (Ⅱ)
- And those who, when they do an evil thing or wrong themselves, remember Allah and implore forgiveness for their sins - Who forgiveth sins save Allah only ? - and will not knowingly repeat (the wrong) they did. (Ⅲ)
- who, when they commit an indecency or wrong themselves, remember God, and pray forgiveness for their sins -- and who shall forgive sins but God? -- and do not persevere in the things they did and that wittingly. (Ⅳ)
- And those who, having done something to be ashamed of, or wronged their own souls, earnestly bring Allah to mind, and ask for forgiveness for their sins,- and who can forgive sins except Allah?- and are never obstinate in persisting knowingly in (the wrong) they have done. (Ⅵ)
3. 136  
أُولَٰئِكَ جَزَاؤُهُم مَّغْفِرَةٌ مِّن رَّبِّهِمْ وَجَنَّاتٌ تَجْرِي مِن تَحْتِهَا الْأَنْهَارُ خَالِدِينَ فِيهَا ۚ وَنِعْمَ أَجْرُ الْعَامِلِينَ
- Olaika jazaohum maghfiratun min rabbihim wajannatun tajree min tahtiha alanharu khalideena feeha waniAAma ajru alAAamileena (Ⅰ)
- Systems have passed away before your time. Do travel in the earth, and see what was the consequence of those who denied (the prophets or Allah’s guidance). (Ⅱ)
- The reward of such will be forgiveness from their Lord, and Gardens underneath which rivers flow, wherein they will abide for ever - a bountiful reward for workers! (Ⅲ)
- Those -- their recompense is forgiveness from their Lord, and gardens beneath which rivers flow, therein dwelling forever; and how excellent is the wage of those who labour! (Ⅳ)
- For such the reward is forgiveness from their Lord, and Gardens with rivers flowing underneath,- an eternal dwelling: How excellent a recompense for those who work (and strive)! (Ⅵ)
3. 137  
قَدْ خَلَتْ مِن قَبْلِكُمْ سُنَنٌ فَسِيرُوا فِي الْأَرْضِ فَانظُرُوا كَيْفَ كَانَ عَاقِبَةُ الْمُكَذِّبِينَ
- Qad khalat min qablikum sunanun faseeroo fee alardi faonthuroo kayfa kana AAaqibatu almukaththibeena (Ⅰ)
- This is an explanation unto men, and a guidance and a warning unto those who fear evil. (Ⅱ)
- Systems have passed away before you. Do but travel in the land and see the nature of the consequence for those who did deny (the messengers). (Ⅲ)
- Divers institutions have passed away before you; journey in the land, and behold how was the end of those that cried lies. (Ⅳ)
- Many were the Ways of Life that have passed away before you: travel through the earth, and see what was the end of those who rejected Truth. (Ⅵ)
3. 138  
هَٰذَا بَيَانٌ لِّلنَّاسِ وَهُدًى وَمَوْعِظَةٌ لِّلْمُتَّقِينَ
- Hatha bayanun lilnnasi wahudan wamawAAithatun lilmuttaqeena (Ⅰ)
- Do not give way nor grieve, for you shall overcome them if you but be faithful. (Ⅱ)
- This is a declaration for mankind, a guidance and an admonition unto those who ward off (evil) (Ⅲ)
- This is an exposition for mankind, and a guidance, and an admonition for such as are godfearing. (Ⅳ)
- Here is a plain statement to men, a guidance and instruction to those who fear Allah! (Ⅵ)
3. 139  
وَلَا تَهِنُوا وَلَا تَحْزَنُوا وَأَنتُمُ الْأَعْلَوْنَ إِن كُنتُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ
- Wala tahinoo wala tahzanoo waantumu alaAAlawna in kuntum mumineena (Ⅰ)
- If a wound touches you, a similar wound has touched the others: these are only the vicissitudes of varying fortune which we bring in turn to mankind that Allah may know those who it is that believe, and may choose from you witnesses, for Allah loves not the unjust. (Ⅱ)
- Faint not nor grieve, for ye will overcome them if ye are (indeed) believers. (Ⅲ)
- Faint not, neither sorrow; you shall be the upper ones if you are believers. (Ⅳ)
- So lose not heart, nor fall into despair: For ye must gain mastery if ye are true in Faith. (Ⅵ)
3. 140  
إِن يَمْسَسْكُمْ قَرْحٌ فَقَدْ مَسَّ الْقَوْمَ قَرْحٌ مِّثْلُهُ ۚ وَتِلْكَ الْأَيَّامُ نُدَاوِلُهَا بَيْنَ النَّاسِ وَلِيَعْلَمَ اللَّهُ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَيَتَّخِذَ مِنكُمْ شُهَدَاءَ ۗ وَاللَّهُ لَا يُحِبُّ الظَّالِمِينَ
- In yamsaskum qarhun faqad massa alqawma qarhun mithluhu watilka alayyamu nudawiluha bayna alnnasi waliyaAAlama Allahu allatheena amanoo wayattakhitha minkum shuhadaa waAllahu la yuhibbu alththalimeena (Ⅰ)
- And that Allah may prove those who believe, and blot out the disbelievers. (Ⅱ)
- If ye have received a blow, the (disbelieving) people have received a blow the like thereof. These are (only) the vicissitudes which We cause to follow one another for mankind, to the end that Allah may know those who believe and may choose witnesses from among you; and Allah loveth not wrong-doers. (Ⅲ)
- If a wound touches you, a like wound already has touched the heathen; such days We deal out in turn among men, and that God may know who are the believers, and that He may take witnesses from among you; and God loves not the evildoers; (Ⅳ)
- If a wound hath touched you, be sure a similar wound hath touched the others. Such days (of varying fortunes) We give to men and men by turns: that Allah may know those that believe, and that He may take to Himself from your ranks Martyr-witnesses (to Truth). And Allah loveth not those that do wrong. (Ⅵ)
3. 141  
وَلِيُمَحِّصَ اللَّهُ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَيَمْحَقَ الْكَافِرِينَ
- Waliyumahhisa Allahu allatheena amanoo wayamhaqa alkafireena (Ⅰ)
- Did you think that you can enter Paradise without Allah testing those of you who fight (or strive) hard, and remain steadfast? (Ⅱ)
- And that Allah may prove those who believe, and may blight the disbelievers. (Ⅲ)
- and that God may prove the believers, and blot out the unbelievers. (Ⅳ)
- Allah´s object also is to purge those that are true in Faith and to deprive of blessing Those that resist Faith. (Ⅵ)
3. 142  
أَمْ حَسِبْتُمْ أَن تَدْخُلُوا الْجَنَّةَ وَلَمَّا يَعْلَمِ اللَّهُ الَّذِينَ جَاهَدُوا مِنكُمْ وَيَعْلَمَ الصَّابِرِينَ
- Am hasibtum an tadkhuloo aljannata walamma yaAAlami Allahu allatheena jahadoo minkum wayaAAlama alssabireena (Ⅰ)
- Verily, you used to long for death before you met it! Now you see it (and flinch)! (Ⅱ)
- Or deemed ye that ye would enter paradise while yet Allah knoweth not those of you who really strive, nor knoweth those (of you) who are steadfast ? (Ⅲ)
- Or did you suppose you should enter Paradise without God know who of you have struggled and who are patient? (Ⅳ)
- Did ye think that ye would enter Heaven without Allah testing those of you who fought hard (In His Cause) and remained steadfast? (Ⅵ)
3. 143  
وَلَقَدْ كُنتُمْ تَمَنَّوْنَ الْمَوْتَ مِن قَبْلِ أَن تَلْقَوْهُ فَقَدْ رَأَيْتُمُوهُ وَأَنتُمْ تَنظُرُونَ
- Walaqad kuntum tamannawna almawta min qabli an talqawhu faqad raaytumoohu waantum tanthuroona (Ⅰ)
- Mohammed is but a Messenger, messengers (the like of whom) have passed away before his time. What if he die or is killed, will you retreat upon your heels? He who retreats does no harm to Allah at all; but Allah will recompense the thankful. (Ⅱ)
- And verily ye used to wish for death before ye met it (in the field). Now ye have seen it with your eyes! (Ⅲ)
- You were longing for death before you met it; now you have seen it, while you were beholding. (Ⅳ)
- Ye did indeed wish for death before ye met him: Now ye have seen him with your own eyes, (And ye flinch!) (Ⅵ)
3. 144  
وَمَا مُحَمَّدٌ إِلَّا رَسُولٌ قَدْ خَلَتْ مِن قَبْلِهِ الرُّسُلُ ۚ أَفَإِن مَّاتَ أَوْ قُتِلَ انقَلَبْتُمْ عَلَىٰ أَعْقَابِكُمْ ۚ وَمَن يَنقَلِبْ عَلَىٰ عَقِبَيْهِ فَلَن يَضُرَّ اللَّهَ شَيْئًا ۗ وَسَيَجْزِي اللَّهُ الشَّاكِرِينَ
- Wama muhammadun illa rasoolun qad khalat min qablihi alrrusulu afain mata aw qutila inqalabtum AAala aAAqabikum waman yanqalib AAala AAaqibayhi falan yadurra Allaha shayan wasayajzee Allahu alshshakireena (Ⅰ)
- It is not for any soul to die, save by Allah´s permission, written down for an appointed time; but he who wishes for the reward of this world We will give him of it, and he who wishes for the reward of the Hereafter We will give him of it, and We will recompense the grateful. (Ⅱ)
- Muhammad is but a messenger, messengers (the like of whom) have passed away before him. Will it be that, when he dieth or is slain, ye will turn back on your heels ? He who turneth back on his heels doth no hurt to Allah, and Allah will reward the thankful. (Ⅲ)
- Muhammad is naught but a Messenger; Messengers have passed away before him. Why, if he should die or is slain, will you turn about on your heels? If any man should turn about on his heels, he will not harm God in any way; and God will recompense the thankful. (Ⅳ)
- Muhammad is no more than a messenger: many Were the messenger that passed away before him. If he died or were slain, will ye then Turn back on your heels? If any did turn back on his heels, not the least harm will he do to Allah; but Allah (on the other hand) will swiftly reward those who (serve Him) with gratitude. (Ⅵ)
3. 145  
وَمَا كَانَ لِنَفْسٍ أَن تَمُوتَ إِلَّا بِإِذْنِ اللَّهِ كِتَابًا مُّؤَجَّلًا ۗ وَمَن يُرِدْ ثَوَابَ الدُّنْيَا نُؤْتِهِ مِنْهَا وَمَن يُرِدْ ثَوَابَ الْآخِرَةِ نُؤْتِهِ مِنْهَا ۚ وَسَنَجْزِي الشَّاكِرِينَ
- Wama kana linafsin an tamoota illa biithni Allahi kitaban muajjalan waman yurid thawaba alddunya nutihi minha waman yurid thawaba alakhirati nutihi minha wasanajzee alshshakireena (Ⅰ)
- How many prophets, with them large numbers of devoted men, fought (in the cause of Allah)! They did not lose heart at what befell them in Allah´s way, nor did they weaken, nor did they demean themselves - Allah loves the steadfast. (Ⅱ)
- No soul can ever die except by Allah's leave and at a term appointed. Whoso desireth the reward of the world, We bestow on him thereof; and whoso desireth the reward of the Hereafter, We bestow on him thereof. We shall reward the thankful. (Ⅲ)
- It is not given to any soul to die, save by the leave of God, at an appointed time. Whoso desires the reward of this world, We will give him of this; and whoso desires the reward of the other world, We will give him of that; and We will recompense the thankful. (Ⅳ)
- Nor can a soul die except by Allah´s leave, the term being fixed as by writing. If any do desire a reward in this life, We shall give it to him; and if any do desire a reward in the Hereafter, We shall give it to him. And swiftly shall We reward those that (serve us with) gratitude. (Ⅵ)
3. 146  
وَكَأَيِّن مِّن نَّبِيٍّ قَاتَلَ مَعَهُ رِبِّيُّونَ كَثِيرٌ فَمَا وَهَنُوا لِمَا أَصَابَهُمْ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ وَمَا ضَعُفُوا وَمَا اسْتَكَانُوا ۗ وَاللَّهُ يُحِبُّ الصَّابِرِينَ
- Wakaayyin min nabiyyin qatala maAAahu ribbiyyoona katheerun fama wahanoo lima asabahum fee sabeeli Allahi wama daAAufoo wama istakanoo waAllahu yuhibbu alssabireena (Ⅰ)
- And their word was only to say, "Lord, forgive us our sins and wasted efforts; and make firm our footing, and help us against the faithless folk!" (Ⅱ)
- And with how many a prophet have there been a number of devoted men who fought (beside him). They quailed not for aught that befell them in the way of Allah, nor did they weaken, nor were they brought low. Allah loveth the steadfast. (Ⅲ)
- Many a Prophet there has been, with whom thousands manifold have fought, and they fainted not for what smote them in God´s way, neither weakened, nor did they humble themselves; and God loves the patient. (Ⅳ)
- How many of the prophets fought (in Allah´s way), and with them (fought) Large bands of godly men? but they never lost heart if they met with disaster in Allah´s way, nor did they weaken (in will) nor give in. And Allah Loves those who are firm and steadfast. (Ⅵ)
3. 147  
وَمَا كَانَ قَوْلَهُمْ إِلَّا أَن قَالُوا رَبَّنَا اغْفِرْ لَنَا ذُنُوبَنَا وَإِسْرَافَنَا فِي أَمْرِنَا وَثَبِّتْ أَقْدَامَنَا وَانصُرْنَا عَلَى الْقَوْمِ الْكَافِرِينَ
- Wama kana qawlahum illa an qaloo rabbana ighfir lana thunoobana waisrafana fee amrina wathabbit aqdamana waonsurna AAala alqawmi alkafireena (Ⅰ)
- So Allah gave them the reward of this world, and also good reward in the Hereafter. Allah does love those whose deeds are good. (Ⅱ)
- Their cry was only that they said: Our Lord! forgive us for our sins and wasted efforts, make our foothold sure, and give us victory over the disbelieving folk. (Ⅲ)
- Nothing else they said but, ´Lord, forgive us our sins, and that we exceeded in our affair, and make firm our feet, and help us against the people of the unbelievers.´ (Ⅳ)
- All that they said was: "Our Lord! Forgive us our sins and anything We may have done that transgressed our duty: Establish our feet firmly, and help us against those that resist Faith." (Ⅵ)
3. 148  
فَآتَاهُمُ اللَّهُ ثَوَابَ الدُّنْيَا وَحُسْنَ ثَوَابِ الْآخِرَةِ ۗ وَاللَّهُ يُحِبُّ الْمُحْسِنِينَ
- Faatahumu Allahu thawaba alddunya wahusna thawabi alakhirati waAllahu yuhibbu almuhsineena (Ⅰ)
- O you who believe! If you obey those who disbelieve, they will turn you back upon your heels, and you will retreat as losers. (Ⅱ)
- So Allah gave them the reward of the world and the good reward of the Hereafter. Allah loveth those whose deeds are good. (Ⅲ)
- And God gave them the reward of this world and the fairest reward of the world to come; and God loves the good-doers. (Ⅳ)
- And Allah gave them a reward in this world, and the excellent reward of the Hereafter. For Allah Loveth those who do good. (Ⅵ)
3. 149  
يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا إِن تُطِيعُوا الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا يَرُدُّوكُمْ عَلَىٰ أَعْقَابِكُمْ فَتَنقَلِبُوا خَاسِرِينَ
- Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoo in tuteeAAoo allatheena kafaroo yaruddookum AAala aAAqabikum fatanqaliboo khasireena (Ⅰ)
- Nay, Allah is your Protector; He is the best of helpers. (Ⅱ)
- O ye who believe! if ye obey those who disbelieve, they will make you turn back on your heels, and ye turn back as losers. (Ⅲ)
- O believers, if you obey the unbelievers they will turn you upon your heels, and you will turn about, losers. (Ⅳ)
- O ye who believe! If ye obey the Unbelievers, they will drive you back on your heels, and ye will turn back (from Faith) to your own loss. (Ⅵ)
