37. 100  
رَبِّ هَبْ لِي مِنَ الصَّالِحِينَ
- Rabbi hab lee mina alssaliheena (Ⅰ)
- "My Lord! Grant me those who do good deeds." (Ⅱ)
- My Lord! Vouchsafe me of the righteous. (Ⅲ)
- My Lord, give me one of the righteous.´ (Ⅳ)
- "O my Lord! Grant me a righteous (son)!" (Ⅵ)
37. 101  
فَبَشَّرْنَاهُ بِغُلَامٍ حَلِيمٍ
- Fabashsharnahu bighulamin haleemin (Ⅰ)
- So We gave him the good news of a gentle son. (Ⅱ)
- So We gave him tidings of a gentle son. (Ⅲ)
- Then We gave him the good tidings of a prudent boy; (Ⅳ)
- So We gave him the good news of a boy ready to suffer and forbear. (Ⅵ)
37. 102  
فَلَمَّا بَلَغَ مَعَهُ السَّعْيَ قَالَ يَا بُنَيَّ إِنِّي أَرَىٰ فِي الْمَنَامِ أَنِّي أَذْبَحُكَ فَانظُرْ مَاذَا تَرَىٰ ۚ قَالَ يَا أَبَتِ افْعَلْ مَا تُؤْمَرُ ۖ سَتَجِدُنِي إِن شَاءَ اللَّهُ مِنَ الصَّابِرِينَ
- Falamma balagha maAAahu alssaAAya qala ya bunayya innee ara fee almanami annee athbahuka faonthur matha tara qala ya abati ifAAal ma tumaru satajidunee in shaa Allahu mina alssabireena (Ⅰ)
- And when his son was old enough to work with him, he said, "O my son! Surely I have seen in a dream that I should sacrifice you; consider then what do you think." He said. "O my father! Do what you are commanded; if Allah wills, you will find me of the patient (constant) ones. (Ⅱ)
- And when (his son) was old enough to walk with him, (Abraham) said: O my dear son, I have seen in a dream that I must sacrifice thee. So look, what thinkest thou ? He said: O my father! Do that which thou art commanded. Allah willing, thou shalt find me of the steadfast. (Ⅲ)
- and when he had reached the age of running with him, he said, ´My son, I see in a dream that I shall sacrifice thee; consider, what thinkest thou?´ He said, ´My father, do as thou art bidden; thou shalt find me, God willing, one of the steadfast.´ (Ⅳ)
- Then, when (the son) reached (the age of) (serious) work with him, he said: "O my son! I see in vision that I offer thee in sacrifice: Now see what is thy view!" (The son) said: "O my father! Do as thou art commanded: thou will find me, if Allah so wills one practising Patience and Constancy!" (Ⅵ)
37. 103  
فَلَمَّا أَسْلَمَا وَتَلَّهُ لِلْجَبِينِ
- Falamma aslama watallahu liljabeeni (Ⅰ)
- So when they had both Surrendered (unto Allah in Islam) and he threw him down upon his face, (Ⅱ)
- Then, when they had both surrendered (to Allah), and he had flung him down upon his face, (Ⅲ)
- When they had surrendered, and he flung him upon his brow, (Ⅳ)
- So when they had both submitted their wills (to Allah), and he had laid him prostrate on his forehead (for sacrifice), (Ⅵ)
37. 104  
وَنَادَيْنَاهُ أَن يَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ
- Wanadaynahu an ya ibraheemu (Ⅰ)
- And We called out to him saying, "O Abraham! (Ⅱ)
- We called unto him: O Abraham! (Ⅲ)
- We called unto him, ´Abraham, (Ⅳ)
- We called out to him "O Abraham! (Ⅵ)
37. 105  
قَدْ صَدَّقْتَ الرُّؤْيَا ۚ إِنَّا كَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِي الْمُحْسِنِينَ
- Qad saddaqta alrruya inna kathalika najzee almuhsineena (Ⅰ)
- You have indeed fulfiled the vision; surely thus do We reward the doers of good: (Ⅱ)
- Thou hast already fulfilled the vision. Lo! thus do We reward the good. (Ⅲ)
- thou hast confirmed the vision; even so We recompense the good-doers. (Ⅳ)
- "Thou hast already fulfilled the vision!" - thus indeed do We reward those who do right. (Ⅵ)
37. 106  
إِنَّ هَٰذَا لَهُوَ الْبَلَاءُ الْمُبِينُ
- Inna hatha lahuwa albalao almubeenu (Ⅰ)
- Most surely this is a manifest trial. (Ⅱ)
- Lo! that verily was a clear test. (Ⅲ)
- This is indeed the manifest trial.´ (Ⅳ)
- For this was obviously a trial- (Ⅵ)
37. 107  
وَفَدَيْنَاهُ بِذِبْحٍ عَظِيمٍ
- Wafadaynahu bithibhin AAatheemin (Ⅰ)
- And We ransomed him with a great sacrifice. (Ⅱ)
- Then We ransomed him with a tremendous victim. (Ⅲ)
- And We ransomed him with a mighty sacrifice, (Ⅳ)
- And We ransomed him with a momentous sacrifice: (Ⅵ)
37. 108  
وَتَرَكْنَا عَلَيْهِ فِي الْآخِرِينَ
- Watarakna AAalayhi fee alakhireena (Ⅰ)
- And We perpetuated to him among the later generations, (Ⅱ)
- And We left for him among the later folk (the salutation): (Ⅲ)
- and left for him among the later folk (Ⅳ)
- And We left (this blessing) for him among generations (to come) in later times: (Ⅵ)
37. 109  
سَلَامٌ عَلَىٰ إِبْرَاهِيمَ
- Salamun AAala ibraheema (Ⅰ)
- (This blessing) "Peace be on Abraham". (Ⅱ)
- Peace be unto Abraham! (Ⅲ)
- ´Peace be upon Abraham!´ (Ⅳ)
- "Peace and salutation to Abraham!" (Ⅵ)
37. 110  
كَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِي الْمُحْسِنِينَ
- Kathalika najzee almuhsineena (Ⅰ)
- Thus do We reward the doers of good. (Ⅱ)
- Thus do We reward the good. (Ⅲ)
- Even so We recompense the good-doers; (Ⅳ)
- Thus indeed do We reward those who do right. (Ⅵ)
37. 111  
إِنَّهُ مِنْ عِبَادِنَا الْمُؤْمِنِينَ
- Innahu min AAibadina almumineena (Ⅰ)
- Surely he was one of Our believing servants. (Ⅱ)
- Lo! he is one of Our believing slaves. (Ⅲ)
- he was among Our believing servants. (Ⅳ)
- For he was one of our believing Servants. (Ⅵ)
37. 112  
وَبَشَّرْنَاهُ بِإِسْحَاقَ نَبِيًّا مِّنَ الصَّالِحِينَ
- Wabashsharnahu biishaqa nabiyyan mina alssaliheena (Ⅰ)
- And We gave him the good news of Isaac, a prophet among the righteous. (Ⅱ)
- And we gave him tidings of the birth of Isaac, a prophet of the righteous. (Ⅲ)
- Then We gave him the good tidings of Isaac, a Prophet, one of the righteous. (Ⅳ)
- And We gave him the good news of Isaac - a prophet,- one of the Righteous. (Ⅵ)
37. 113  
وَبَارَكْنَا عَلَيْهِ وَعَلَىٰ إِسْحَاقَ ۚ وَمِن ذُرِّيَّتِهِمَا مُحْسِنٌ وَظَالِمٌ لِّنَفْسِهِ مُبِينٌ
- Wabarakna AAalayhi waAAala ishaqa wamin thurriyyatihima muhsinun wathalimun linafsihi mubeenun (Ⅰ)
- And We showered Our blessings on him and on Isaac; and of their offspring are some who do good, and also some who are clearly unjust to their own souls. (Ⅱ)
- And We blessed him and Isaac. And of their seed are some who do good, and some who plainly wrong themselves. (Ⅲ)
- And We blessed him, and Isaac; and of their seed some are good-doers, and some manifest self-wrongers. (Ⅳ)
- We blessed him and Isaac: but of their progeny are (some) that do right, and (some) that obviously do wrong, to their own souls. (Ⅵ)
37. 114  
وَلَقَدْ مَنَنَّا عَلَىٰ مُوسَىٰ وَهَارُونَ
- Walaqad mananna AAala moosa waharoona (Ⅰ)
- And certainly We conferred a favour on Moses and Aaron. (Ⅱ)
- And We verily gave grace unto Moses and Aaron, (Ⅲ)
- We also favoured Moses and Aaron, (Ⅳ)
- Again (of old) We bestowed Our favour on Moses and Aaron, (Ⅵ)
37. 115  
وَنَجَّيْنَاهُمَا وَقَوْمَهُمَا مِنَ الْكَرْبِ الْعَظِيمِ
- Wanajjaynahuma waqawmahuma mina alkarbi alAAatheemi (Ⅰ)
- And We delivered them both and their people from the mighty distress. (Ⅱ)
- And saved them and their people from the great distress, (Ⅲ)
- and We delivered them and their people from the great distress. (Ⅳ)
- And We delivered them and their people from (their) Great Calamity; (Ⅵ)
37. 116  
وَنَصَرْنَاهُمْ فَكَانُوا هُمُ الْغَالِبِينَ
- Wanasarnahum fakanoo humu alghalibeena (Ⅰ)
- And We helped them, so they became the victors. (Ⅱ)
- And helped them so that they became the victors. (Ⅲ)
- And We helped them, so that they were the victors; (Ⅳ)
- And We helped them, so they overcame (their troubles); (Ⅵ)
37. 117  
وَآتَيْنَاهُمَا الْكِتَابَ الْمُسْتَبِينَ
- Waataynahuma alkitaba almustabeena (Ⅰ)
- And We gave them both the Book that clarifies. (Ⅱ)
- And We gave them the clear Scripture (Ⅲ)
- and We gave them the Manifesting Book, (Ⅳ)
- And We gave them the Book which helps to make things clear; (Ⅵ)
37. 118  
وَهَدَيْنَاهُمَا الصِّرَاطَ الْمُسْتَقِيمَ
- Wahadaynahuma alssirata almustaqeema (Ⅰ)
- And We guided them both on the Straight Way. (Ⅱ)
- And showed them the right path. (Ⅲ)
- and guided them in the straight path, (Ⅳ)
- And We guided them to the Straight Way. (Ⅵ)
37. 119  
وَتَرَكْنَا عَلَيْهِمَا فِي الْآخِرِينَ
- Watarakna AAalayhima fee alakhireena (Ⅰ)
- And We perpetuated to them among the later generations, (Ⅱ)
- And We left for them among the later folk (the salutation): (Ⅲ)
- and left for them among the later folk (Ⅳ)
- And We left (this blessing) for them among generations (to come) in later times: (Ⅵ)
37. 120  
سَلَامٌ عَلَىٰ مُوسَىٰ وَهَارُونَ
- Salamun AAala moosa waharoona (Ⅰ)
- (This blessing) "Peace be on Moses and Aaron". (Ⅱ)
- Peace be unto Moses and Aaron! (Ⅲ)
- ´Peace be upon Moses and, Aaron!´ (Ⅳ)
- "Peace and salutation to Moses and Aaron!" (Ⅵ)
37. 121

- Lo! thus do We reward the good. (Ⅲ)

37. 122  
إِنَّهُمَا مِنْ عِبَادِنَا الْمُؤْمِنِينَ
- Innahuma min AAibadina almumineena (Ⅰ)
- Surely they were both of Our believing servants. (Ⅱ)
- Lo! they are two of Our believing slaves. (Ⅲ)
- they were among Our believing servants. (Ⅳ)
- For they were two of our believing Servants. (Ⅵ)
37. 123  
وَإِنَّ إِلْيَاسَ لَمِنَ الْمُرْسَلِينَ
- Wainna ilyasa lamina almursaleena (Ⅰ)
- And Elias was most surely one of those sent. (Ⅱ)
- And lo! Elias was of those sent (to warn), (Ⅲ)
- Elias too was one of the Envoys; (Ⅳ)
- So also was Elias among those sent (by Us). (Ⅵ)
37. 124  
إِذْ قَالَ لِقَوْمِهِ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ
- Ith qala liqawmihi ala tattaqoona (Ⅰ)
- When he said to his people, "Do you not guard (against evil)? (Ⅱ)
- When he said unto his folk: Will ye not ward off (evil) ? (Ⅲ)
- when he said to his people, ´Will you not be godfearing? (Ⅳ)
- Behold, he said to his people, "Will ye not fear (Allah)? (Ⅵ)
37. 125  
أَتَدْعُونَ بَعْلًا وَتَذَرُونَ أَحْسَنَ الْخَالِقِينَ
- AtadAAoona baAAlan watatharoona ahsana alkhaliqeena (Ⅰ)
- "What! Do you call upon Baal and forsake the best of Creators, (Ⅱ)
- Will ye cry unto Baal and forsake the Best of creators, (Ⅲ)
- Do you call on Baal, and abandon the Best of creators? (Ⅳ)
- "Will ye call upon Baal and forsake the Best of Creators,- (Ⅵ)
37. 126  
اللَّهَ رَبَّكُمْ وَرَبَّ آبَائِكُمُ الْأَوَّلِينَ
- Allaha rabbakum warabba abaikumu alawwaleena (Ⅰ)
- "Allah, your Lord and the Lord of your fathers of past times (ancestors)?" (Ⅱ)
- Allah, your Lord and Lord of your forefathers ? (Ⅲ)
- God, your Lord, and the Lord of your fathers, the ancients?´ (Ⅳ)
- "Allah, your Lord and Cherisher and the Lord and Cherisher of your fathers of old?" (Ⅵ)
37. 127  
فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَإِنَّهُمْ لَمُحْضَرُونَ
- Fakaththaboohu fainnahum lamuhdaroona (Ⅰ)
- But they called him a liar, therefore they shall most surely be brought forth (to the doom). (Ⅱ)
- But they denied him, so they surely will be haled forth (to the doom) (Ⅲ)
- But they cried him lies; so they will be among the arraigned, (Ⅳ)
- But they rejected him, and they will certainly be called up (for punishment),- (Ⅵ)
37. 128  
إِلَّا عِبَادَ اللَّهِ الْمُخْلَصِينَ
- Illa AAibada Allahi almukhlaseena (Ⅰ)
- But not the servants of Allah, the purified ones. (Ⅱ)
- Save single-minded slaves of Allah. (Ⅲ)
- except for God´s sincere servants; (Ⅳ)
- Except the sincere and devoted Servants of Allah (among them). (Ⅵ)
37. 129  
وَتَرَكْنَا عَلَيْهِ فِي الْآخِرِينَ
- Watarakna AAalayhi fee alakhireena (Ⅰ)
- And We perpetuated to him among the later generations, (Ⅱ)
- And we left for him among the later folk (the salutation): (Ⅲ)
- and We left for him among the later folk (Ⅳ)
- And We left (this blessing) for him among generations (to come) in later times: (Ⅵ)
37. 130  
سَلَامٌ عَلَىٰ إِلْ يَاسِينَ
- Salamun AAala il yaseena (Ⅰ)
- (This blessing) "Peace be on Elias". (Ⅱ)
- Peace be unto Elias! (Ⅲ)
- ´Peace be upon Elias!´ (Ⅳ)
- "Peace and salutation to such as Elias!" (Ⅵ)
37. 131  
إِنَّا كَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِي الْمُحْسِنِينَ
- Inna kathalika najzee almuhsineena (Ⅰ)
- Even thus do We reward the doers of good. (Ⅱ)
- Lo! thus do We reward the good. (Ⅲ)
- Even so We recompense the good-doers; (Ⅳ)
- Thus indeed do We reward those who do right. (Ⅵ)
37. 132  
إِنَّهُ مِنْ عِبَادِنَا الْمُؤْمِنِينَ
- Innahu min AAibadina almumineena (Ⅰ)
- Surely he was one of Our believing servants. (Ⅱ)
- Lo! he is one of our believing slaves. (Ⅲ)
- he was among Our believing servants. (Ⅳ)
- For he was one of our believing Servants. (Ⅵ)
37. 133  
وَإِنَّ لُوطًا لَّمِنَ الْمُرْسَلِينَ
- Wainna lootan lamina almursaleena (Ⅰ)
- And Lot was most surely one of those sent. (Ⅱ)
- And lo! Lot verily was of those sent (to warn). (Ⅲ)
- Lot too was one of the Envoys; (Ⅳ)
- So also was Lut among those sent (by Us). (Ⅵ)
37. 134  
إِذْ نَجَّيْنَاهُ وَأَهْلَهُ أَجْمَعِينَ
- Ith najjaynahu waahlahu ajmaAAeena (Ⅰ)
- When We delivered him and his followers, everyone (Ⅱ)
- When We saved him and his household, every one, (Ⅲ)
- when We delivered him and his people all together, (Ⅳ)
- Behold, We delivered him and his adherents, all (Ⅵ)
37. 135  
إِلَّا عَجُوزًا فِي الْغَابِرِينَ
- Illa AAajoozan fee alghabireena (Ⅰ)
- Except an old woman who was amongst those who lingered behind. (Ⅱ)
- Save an old woman among those who stayed behind; (Ⅲ)
- save an old woman among those that tarried; (Ⅳ)
- Except an old woman who was among those who lagged behind: (Ⅵ)
37. 136  
ثُمَّ دَمَّرْنَا الْآخَرِينَ
- Thumma dammarna alakhareena (Ⅰ)
- Then We destroyed the others. (Ⅱ)
- Then We destroyed the others. (Ⅲ)
- then We destroyed the others, (Ⅳ)
- Then We destroyed the rest. (Ⅵ)
37. 137  
وَإِنَّكُمْ لَتَمُرُّونَ عَلَيْهِم مُّصْبِحِينَ
- Wainnakum latamurroona AAalayhim musbiheena (Ⅰ)
- And most surely you pass by their (ruins) in the morning, (Ⅱ)
- And lo! ye verily pass by (the ruin of) them in the morning (Ⅲ)
- and you pass by them in the morning (Ⅳ)
- Verily, ye pass by their (sites), by day- (Ⅵ)
37. 138  
وَبِاللَّيْلِ ۗ أَفَلَا تَعْقِلُونَ
- Wabiallayli afala taAAqiloona (Ⅰ)
- And at night; do you not then understand? (Ⅱ)
- And at night-time; have ye then no sense ? (Ⅲ)
- and in the night; will you not understand? (Ⅳ)
- And by night: will ye not understand? (Ⅵ)
37. 139  
وَإِنَّ يُونُسَ لَمِنَ الْمُرْسَلِينَ
- Wainna yoonusa lamina almursaleena (Ⅰ)
- And Jonah was most surely of those sent. (Ⅱ)
- And lo! Jonah verily was of those sent (to warn) (Ⅲ)
- Jonah too was one of the Envoys; (Ⅳ)
- So also was Jonah among those sent (by Us). (Ⅵ)
37. 140  
إِذْ أَبَقَ إِلَى الْفُلْكِ الْمَشْحُونِ
- Ith abaqa ila alfulki almashhooni (Ⅰ)
- When he ran away to a ship completely laden, (Ⅱ)
- When he fled unto the laden ship, (Ⅲ)
- when he ran away to the laden ship (Ⅳ)
- When he ran away (like a slave from captivity) to the ship (fully) laden, (Ⅵ)
37. 141  
فَسَاهَمَ فَكَانَ مِنَ الْمُدْحَضِينَ
- Fasahama fakana mina almudhadeena (Ⅰ)
- Then he drew lots, but was of those rejected. (Ⅱ)
- And then drew lots and was of those rejected; (Ⅲ)
- and cast lots, and was of the rebutted, (Ⅳ)
- He (agreed to) cast lots, and he was condemned: (Ⅵ)
37. 142  
فَالْتَقَمَهُ الْحُوتُ وَهُوَ مُلِيمٌ
- Failtaqamahu alhootu wahuwa muleemun (Ⅰ)
- And the fish swallowed him while he was blameworthy, (Ⅱ)
- And the fish swallowed him while he was blameworthy; (Ⅲ)
- then the whale swallowed him down, and he blameworthy. (Ⅳ)
- Then the big Fish did swallow him, and he had done acts worthy of blame. (Ⅵ)
37. 143  
فَلَوْلَا أَنَّهُ كَانَ مِنَ الْمُسَبِّحِينَ
- Falawla annahu kana mina almusabbiheena (Ⅰ)
- But had it not been that he was of those who glorify (Us), (Ⅱ)
- And had he not been one of those who glorify (Allah) (Ⅲ)
- Now had he not been of those that glorify God, (Ⅳ)
- Had it not been that he (repented and) glorified Allah, (Ⅵ)
37. 144  
لَلَبِثَ فِي بَطْنِهِ إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ يُبْعَثُونَ
- Lalabitha fee batnihi ila yawmi yubAAathoona (Ⅰ)
- He would certainly have tarried in its belly to the day when they are raised. (Ⅱ)
- He would have tarried in its belly till the day when they are raised; (Ⅲ)
- he would have tarried in its belly until the day they shall be raised; (Ⅳ)
- He would certainly have remained inside the Fish till the Day of Resurrection. (Ⅵ)
37. 145  
۞ فَنَبَذْنَاهُ بِالْعَرَاءِ وَهُوَ سَقِيمٌ
- Fanabathnahu bialAAarai wahuwa saqeemun (Ⅰ)
- Then We cast him on to the desert shore while he was sick. (Ⅱ)
- Then We cast him on a desert shore while he was sick; (Ⅲ)
- but We cast him upon the wilderness, and he was sick, (Ⅳ)
- But We cast him forth on the naked shore in a state of sickness, (Ⅵ)
37. 146  
وَأَنبَتْنَا عَلَيْهِ شَجَرَةً مِّن يَقْطِينٍ
- Waanbatna AAalayhi shajaratan min yaqteenin (Ⅰ)
- And We caused a gourd plant to grow above him. (Ⅱ)
- And We caused a tree of gourd to grow above him; (Ⅲ)
- and We caused to grow over him a tree of gourds. (Ⅳ)
- And We caused to grow, over him, a spreading plant of the gourd kind. (Ⅵ)
37. 147  
وَأَرْسَلْنَاهُ إِلَىٰ مِائَةِ أَلْفٍ أَوْ يَزِيدُونَ
- Waarsalnahu ila miati alfin aw yazeedoona (Ⅰ)
- And We sent him to a hundred thousand folk or more. (Ⅱ)
- And We sent him to a hundred thousand (folk) or more (Ⅲ)
- Then We sent him unto a hundred thousand, or more, (Ⅳ)
- And We sent him (on a mission) to a hundred thousand (men) or more. (Ⅵ)
37. 148  
فَآمَنُوا فَمَتَّعْنَاهُمْ إِلَىٰ حِينٍ
- Faamanoo famattaAAnahum ila heenin (Ⅰ)
- And they believed; therefore, We gave them provision for a time. (Ⅱ)
- And they believed, therefor We gave them comfort for a while. (Ⅲ)
- and they believed; so We gave them enjoyment for a while. (Ⅳ)
- And they believed; so We permitted them to enjoy (their life) for a while. (Ⅵ)
37. 149  
فَاسْتَفْتِهِمْ أَلِرَبِّكَ الْبَنَاتُ وَلَهُمُ الْبَنُونَ
- Faistaftihim alirabbika albanatu walahumu albanoona (Ⅰ)
- Now ask them (O Muhammad) has your Lord daughters while they have sons? (Ⅱ)
- Now ask them (O Muhammad): Hath thy Lord daughters whereas they have sons ? (Ⅲ)
- So ask them for a pronouncement -- Has thy Lord daughters, and they sons? (Ⅳ)
- Now ask them their opinion: Is it that thy Lord has (only) daughters, and they have sons?- (Ⅵ)
