بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
- Alhamdu lillahi rabbi alAAalameena (Ⅰ) - The Beneficent, the Merciful, (Ⅱ) - In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful. (Ⅲ) - Praise belongs to God, the Lord of all Being, (Ⅳ) - Praise be to Allah, the Cherisher and Sustainer of the worlds; (Ⅵ)

50.
1
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ ق ۚ وَالْقُرْآنِ الْمَجِيدِ
- Qaf waalqurani almajeedi (Ⅰ) - Qaf. I swear by the glorious Quran (that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah.) (Ⅱ) - Qaf. By the Glorious Qur'an, (Ⅲ) - Qaf. By the glorious Koran! (Ⅳ) - Qaf: By the Glorious Qur´an (Thou art Allah´s Messenger). (Ⅵ)

50.
2
بَلْ عَجِبُوا أَن جَاءَهُم مُّنذِرٌ مِّنْهُمْ فَقَالَ الْكَافِرُونَ هَٰذَا شَيْءٌ عَجِيبٌ
- Bal AAajiboo an jaahum munthirun minhum faqala alkafiroona hatha shayon AAajeebun (Ⅰ) - Nay! They wonder that there has come to them a Warner from among themselves, so the unbelievers say, " This is a wonderful thing. (Ⅱ) - Nay, but they marvel that a warner of their own hath come unto them; and the disbelievers say: This is a strange thing: (Ⅲ) - Nay, but they marvel that a warner has come to them from among them; and the unbelievers say, ´This is a marvellous thing! (Ⅳ) - But they wonder that there has come to them a Warner from among themselves. So the Unbelievers say: "This is a wonderful thing! (Ⅵ)

50.

أَإِذَا مِتْنَا وَكُنَّا تُرَابًا ۖ ذَٰلِكَ رَجْعٌ بَعِيدٌ
- Aitha mitna wakunna turaban thalika rajAAun baAAeedun (Ⅰ) - "What! When we are dead and have become dust (shall we live again)? That is a far return (or far from probable or from our understanding)." (Ⅱ) - When we are dead and have become dust (shall we be brought back again) ? That would be a far return! (Ⅲ) - What, when we are dead and become dust? That is a far returning!´ (Ⅳ) - "What! When we die and become dust, (shall we live again?) That is a (sort of) return far (from our understanding)." (Ⅵ)

50.
4
قَدْ عَلِمْنَا مَا تَنقُصُ الْأَرْضُ مِنْهُمْ ۖ وَعِندَنَا كِتَابٌ حَفِيظٌ
- Qad AAalimna ma tanqusu alardu minhum waAAindana kitabun hafeethun (Ⅰ) - We know indeed what the earth diminishes (or takes) from them (excreta or dead bodies), and with Us is a Preserved Record (or the record is preserved). (Ⅱ) - We know that which the earth taketh of them, and with Us is a recording Book. (Ⅲ) - We know what the earth diminishes of them; with Us is a book recording. (Ⅳ) - We already know how much of them the earth takes away: With Us is a record guarding (the full account). (Ⅵ)

50.
5
بَلْ كَذَّبُوا بِالْحَقِّ لَمَّا جَاءَهُمْ فَهُمْ فِي أَمْرٍ مَّرِيجٍ
- Bal kaththaboo bialhaqqi lamma jaahum fahum fee amrin mareejin (Ⅰ) - Nay, they rejected the truth when it came to them, so they are now in a state of confusion. (Ⅱ) - Nay, but they have denied the truth when it came unto them, therefor they are now in troubled case. (Ⅲ) - Nay, but they cried lies to the truth when it came to them, and so they are in a case confused. (Ⅳ) - But they deny the Truth when it comes to them: so they are in a confused state. (Ⅵ)

50.
6
أَفَلَمْ يَنظُرُوا إِلَى السَّمَاءِ فَوْقَهُمْ كَيْفَ بَنَيْنَاهَا وَزَيَّنَّاهَا وَمَا لَهَا مِن فُرُوجٍ
- Afalam yanthuroo ila alssamai fawqahum kayfa banaynaha wazayyannaha wama laha min furoojin (Ⅰ) - Do they not then look up to heaven above them how We have made it and adorned it and it has no gaps (rifts or flaws)? (Ⅱ) - Have they not then observed the sky above them, how We have constructed it and beautified it, and how there are no rifts therein ? (Ⅲ) - What, have they not beheld heaven above them, how We have built it, and decked it out fair, and it has no cracks? (Ⅳ) - Do they not look at the sky above them?- How We have made it and adorned it, and there are no flaws in it? (Ⅵ)

50.
7
وَالْأَرْضَ مَدَدْنَاهَا وَأَلْقَيْنَا فِيهَا رَوَاسِيَ وَأَنبَتْنَا فِيهَا مِن كُلِّ زَوْجٍ بَهِيجٍ
- Waalarda madadnaha waalqayna feeha rawasiya waanbatna feeha min kulli zawjin baheejin (Ⅰ) - And the earth, We have made it plain and cast in it mountains and We have made to grow therein of all beautiful kinds, (Ⅱ) - And the earth have We spread out, and have flung firm hills therein, and have caused of every lovely kind to grow thereon, (Ⅲ) - And the earth -- We stretched it forth, and cast on it firm mountains, and We caused to grow therein of every joyous kind (Ⅳ) - And the earth- We have spread it out, and set thereon mountains standing firm, and produced therein every kind of beautiful growth (in pairs)- (Ⅵ)

50.
8
تَبْصِرَةً وَذِكْرَىٰ لِكُلِّ عَبْدٍ مُّنِيبٍ
- Tabsiratan wathikra likulli AAabdin muneebin (Ⅰ) - As a vision (observation or spectacle) and a reminder to every penitent servant (for his delight or awe and instruction). (Ⅱ) - A vision and a reminder for every penitent slave. (Ⅲ) - for an insight and a reminder to every penitent servant. (Ⅳ) - To be observed and commemorated by every devotee turning (to Allah). (Ⅵ)

50.
9
وَنَزَّلْنَا مِنَ السَّمَاءِ مَاءً مُّبَارَكًا فَأَنبَتْنَا بِهِ جَنَّاتٍ وَحَبَّ الْحَصِيدِ
- Wanazzalna mina alssamai maan mubarakan faanbatna bihi jannatin wahabba alhaseedi (Ⅰ) - And We send down from the cloud water abounding in good (or blessings), then We cause to grow therewith gardens and the grain that is reaped, (Ⅱ) - And We send down from the sky blessed water whereby We give growth unto gardens and the grain of crops, (Ⅲ) - And We sent down out of heaven water blessed, and caused to grow thereby gardens and grain of harvest (Ⅳ) - And We send down from the sky rain charted with blessing, and We produce therewith gardens and Grain for harvests; (Ⅵ)

50.
10
وَالنَّخْلَ بَاسِقَاتٍ لَّهَا طَلْعٌ نَّضِيدٌ
- Waalnnakhla basiqatin laha talAAun nadeedun (Ⅰ) - And the lofty palm-trees with fruit spikes closely set one above another, (Ⅱ) - And lofty date-palms with ranged clusters, (Ⅲ) - and tall palm-trees with spathes compact, (Ⅳ) - And tall (and stately) palm-trees, with shoots of fruit-stalks, piled one over another;- (Ⅵ)

50.
11
رِّزْقًا لِّلْعِبَادِ ۖ وَأَحْيَيْنَا بِهِ بَلْدَةً مَّيْتًا ۚ كَذَٰلِكَ الْخُرُوجُ
- Rizqan lilAAibadi waahyayna bihi baldatan maytan kathalika alkhurooju (Ⅰ) - A sustenance for the servants (of Allah), and We give life thereby to a dead land; thus is the Resurrection. (Ⅱ) - Provision (made) for men; and therewith We quicken a dead land. Even so will be the resurrection of the dead. (Ⅲ) - a provision for the servants, and thereby We revived a land that was dead. Even so is the coming forth. (Ⅳ) - As sustenance for (Allah´s) Servants;- and We give (new) life therewith to land that is dead: Thus will be the Resurrection. (Ⅵ)

50.
12
كَذَّبَتْ قَبْلَهُمْ قَوْمُ نُوحٍ وَأَصْحَابُ الرَّسِّ وَثَمُودُ
- Kaththabat qablahum qawmu noohin waashabu alrrassi wathamoodu (Ⅰ) - Others before them rejected (these ideas or the Prophets): the people of Noah and the dwellers of Ar-Rass and Thamud, (Ⅱ) - The folk of Noah denied (the truth) before them, and (so did) the dwellers at Ar-Rass and (the tribe of) Thamud, (Ⅲ) - Cried lies before them the people of Noah and the men of Er-Rass, and Thamood, (Ⅳ) - Before them was denied (the Hereafter) by the People of Noah, the Companions of the Rass, the Thamud, (Ⅵ)

50.
13
وَعَادٌ وَفِرْعَوْنُ وَإِخْوَانُ لُوطٍ
- WaAAadun wafirAAawnu waikhwanu lootin (Ⅰ) - And A´ad and Pharaoh and Lot´s brethren, (Ⅱ) - And (the tribe of) A'ad, and Pharaoh, and the brethren of Lot, (Ⅲ) - and Ad and Pharaoh, the brothers of Lot, (Ⅳ) - The ´Ad, Pharaoh, the brethren of Lut, (Ⅵ)

50.
14
وَأَصْحَابُ الْأَيْكَةِ وَقَوْمُ تُبَّعٍ ۚ كُلٌّ كَذَّبَ الرُّسُلَ فَحَقَّ وَعِيدِ
- Waashabu alaykati waqawmu tubbaAAin kullun kaththaba alrrusula fahaqqa waAAeedi (Ⅰ) - And the dwellers of the Wood (Midian) and the people of Tubba; all rejected the messengers. Therefore, My threat came to pass. (Ⅱ) - And the dwellers in the wood, and the folk of Tubb'a: every one denied their messengers, therefor My threat took effect. (Ⅲ) - the men of the Thicket, the people of Tubba´. Every one cried lies to the Messengers, and My threat came true. (Ⅳ) - The Companions of the Wood, and the People of Tubba´; each one (of them) rejected the messengers, and My warning was duly fulfilled (in them). (Ⅵ)

50.
15
أَفَعَيِينَا بِالْخَلْقِ الْأَوَّلِ ۚ بَلْ هُمْ فِي لَبْسٍ مِّنْ خَلْقٍ جَدِيدٍ
- AfaAAayeena bialkhalqi alawwali bal hum fee labsin min khalqin jadeedin (Ⅰ) - Were We then fatigued with (did We need rest after) the first creation? Yet are they in doubt with regard to a new creation. (Ⅱ) - Were We then worn out by the first creation ? Yet they are in doubt about a new creation. (Ⅲ) - What, were We wearied by the first creation? No indeed; but they are in uncertainty as to the new creation. (Ⅳ) - Were We then weary with the first Creation, that they should be in confused doubt about a new Creation? (Ⅵ)

50.
16
وَلَقَدْ خَلَقْنَا الْإِنسَانَ وَنَعْلَمُ مَا تُوَسْوِسُ بِهِ نَفْسُهُ ۖ وَنَحْنُ أَقْرَبُ إِلَيْهِ مِنْ حَبْلِ الْوَرِيدِ
- Walaqad khalaqna alinsana wanaAAlamu ma tuwaswisu bihi nafsuhu wanahnu aqrabu ilayhi min habli alwareedi (Ⅰ) - And certainly We created man, and We know what his soul suggests to him, and We are nearer to him than his life-vein (Jugular and Carotid). (Ⅱ) - We verily created man and We know what his soul whispereth to him, and We are nearer to him than his jugular vein. (Ⅲ) - We indeed created man; and We know what his soul whispers within him, and We are nearer to him than the jugular vein. (Ⅳ) - It was We Who created man, and We know what dark suggestions his soul makes to him: for We are nearer to him than (his) jugular vein. (Ⅵ)

50.
17
إِذْ يَتَلَقَّى الْمُتَلَقِّيَانِ عَنِ الْيَمِينِ وَعَنِ الشِّمَالِ قَعِيدٌ
- Ith yatalaqqa almutalaqqiyani AAani alyameeni waAAani alshshimali qaAAeedun (Ⅰ) - When the two Receivers receive him, sitting on the right and on the left. (Ⅱ) - When the two Receivers receive (him), seated on the right hand and on the left, (Ⅲ) - When the two angels meet together, sitting one on the right, and one on the left, (Ⅳ) - Behold, two (guardian angels) appointed to learn (his doings) learn (and noted them), one sitting on the right and one on the left. (Ⅵ)

50.
18
مَّا يَلْفِظُ مِن قَوْلٍ إِلَّا لَدَيْهِ رَقِيبٌ عَتِيدٌ
- Ma yalfithu min qawlin illa ladayhi raqeebun AAateedun (Ⅰ) - He utters not a word but there is by him a watcher (sentinel, one who censors) at hand. (Ⅱ) - He uttereth no word but there is with him an observer ready. (Ⅲ) - not a word he utters, but by him is an observer ready. (Ⅳ) - Not a word does he utter but there is a sentinel by him, ready (to note it). (Ⅵ)

50.
19
وَجَاءَتْ سَكْرَةُ الْمَوْتِ بِالْحَقِّ ۖ ذَٰلِكَ مَا كُنتَ مِنْهُ تَحِيدُ
- Wajaat sakratu almawti bialhaqqi thalika ma kunta minhu taheedu (Ⅰ) - And the stupor of death will bring truth; that is what you were trying to escape. (Ⅱ) - And the agony of death cometh in truth. (And it is said unto him): This is that which thou wast wont to shun. (Ⅲ) - And death´s agony comes in truth; that is what thou wast shunning! (Ⅳ) - And the stupor of death will bring Truth (before his eyes): "This was the thing which thou wast trying to escape!" (Ⅵ)

50.
20
وَنُفِخَ فِي الصُّورِ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ يَوْمُ الْوَعِيدِ
- Wanufikha fee alssoori thalika yawmu alwaAAeedi (Ⅰ) - And the Trumpet shall be blown; that is the day about which warning had been given. (Ⅱ) - And the trumpet is blown. This is the threatened Day. (Ⅲ) - And the Trumpet shall be blown; that is the Day of the Threat. (Ⅳ) - And the Trumpet shall be blown: that will be the Day whereof Warning (had been given). (Ⅵ)

50.
21
وَجَاءَتْ كُلُّ نَفْسٍ مَّعَهَا سَائِقٌ وَشَهِيدٌ
- Wajaat kullu nafsin maAAaha saiqun washaheedun (Ⅰ) - And every soul shall come, with it a Driver and a Witness. (Ⅱ) - And every soul cometh, along with it a driver and a witness. (Ⅲ) - And every soul shall come, and with it a driver and a witness. (Ⅳ) - And there will come forth every soul: with each will be an (angel) to drive, and an (angel) to bear witness. (Ⅵ)

50.
22
لَّقَدْ كُنتَ فِي غَفْلَةٍ مِّنْ هَٰذَا فَكَشَفْنَا عَنكَ غِطَاءَكَ فَبَصَرُكَ الْيَوْمَ حَدِيدٌ
- Laqad kunta fee ghaflatin min hatha fakashafna AAanka ghitaaka fabasaruka alyawma hadeedun (Ⅰ) - Certainly you were heedless of it, but now We have removed from you your veil, and piercing is your sight this day. (Ⅱ) - (And unto the evil-doer it is said): Thou wast in heedlessness of this. Now We have removed from thee thy covering, and piercing is thy sight this day. (Ⅲ) - ´Thou wast heedless of this; therefore We have now removed from thee thy covering, and so thy sight today is piercing.´ (Ⅳ) - (It will be said:) "Thou wast heedless of this; now have We removed thy veil, and sharp is thy sight this Day!" (Ⅵ)

50.
23
وَقَالَ قَرِينُهُ هَٰذَا مَا لَدَيَّ عَتِيدٌ
- Waqala qareenuhu hatha ma ladayya AAateedun (Ⅰ) - And his companions (the Driver and the Witness) shall say, "Here (his Record) is ready with me. (Ⅱ) - And (unto the evil-doer) his comrade saith: This is that which I have ready (as testimony). (Ⅲ) - And his comrade shall say, ´This is what I have, made ready.´ (Ⅳ) - And his Companion will say: "Here is (his Record) ready with me!" (Ⅵ)

50.
24
أَلْقِيَا فِي جَهَنَّمَ كُلَّ كَفَّارٍ عَنِيدٍ
- Alqiya fee jahannama kulla kaffarin AAaneedin (Ⅰ) - "So cast into Hell every ungrateful, rebellious one, (Ⅱ) - (And it is said): Do ye twain hurl to hell each rebel ingrate, (Ⅲ) - ´Cast, you twain, into Gehenna every froward unbeliever, (Ⅳ) - (The sentence will be:) "Throw, throw into Hell every contumacious Rejecter (of Allah)!- (Ⅵ)

50.
25
مَّنَّاعٍ لِّلْخَيْرِ مُعْتَدٍ مُّرِيبٍ
- MannaAAin lilkhayri muAAtadin mureebin (Ⅰ) - "Forbidder of good, exceeder of limits, doubter, (Ⅱ) - Hinderer of good, transgressor, doubter, (Ⅲ) - every hinderer of the good, transgressor, disquieter, (Ⅳ) - "Who forbade what was good, transgressed all bounds, cast doubts and suspicions; (Ⅵ)

50.
26
الَّذِي جَعَلَ مَعَ اللَّهِ إِلَٰهًا آخَرَ فَأَلْقِيَاهُ فِي الْعَذَابِ الشَّدِيدِ
- Allathee jaAAala maAAa Allahi ilahan akhara faalqiyahu fee alAAathabi alshshadeedi (Ⅰ) - "Who sets up another God with Allah; cast him into severe chastisement." (Ⅱ) - Who setteth up another god along with Allah. Do ye twain hurl him to the dreadful doom. (Ⅲ) - who set up with God another god; therefore, you twain, cast him into the terrible chastisement.´ (Ⅳ) - "Who set up another god beside Allah: Throw him into a severe penalty." (Ⅵ)

50.
27
۞ قَالَ قَرِينُهُ رَبَّنَا مَا أَطْغَيْتُهُ وَلَٰكِن كَانَ فِي ضَلَالٍ بَعِيدٍ
- Qala qareenuhu rabbana ma atghaytuhu walakin kana fee dalalin baAAeedin (Ⅰ) - His companion will say, "Our Lord! I did not lead him into transgression but he himself was in great error." (Ⅱ) - His comrade saith: Our Lord! I did not cause him to rebel, but he was (himself) far gone in error. (Ⅲ) - And his comrade shall say, ´Our Lord, I made him not insolent, but he was in far error.´ (Ⅳ) - His Companion will say: "Our Lord! I did not make him transgress, but he was (himself) far astray." (Ⅵ)

50.
28
قَالَ لَا تَخْتَصِمُوا لَدَيَّ وَقَدْ قَدَّمْتُ إِلَيْكُم بِالْوَعِيدِ
- Qala la takhtasimoo ladayya waqad qaddamtu ilaykum bialwaAAeedi (Ⅰ) - He will say, "Do not quarrel in My presence, and indeed I gave you the warning beforehand: (Ⅱ) - He saith: Contend not in My presence, when I had already proffered unto you the warning. (Ⅲ) - He shall say, ´Dispute not before Me! For I sent you beforehand -- the threat. (Ⅳ) - He will say: "Dispute not with each other in My Presence: I had already in advance sent you Warning. (Ⅵ)

50.
29
مَا يُبَدَّلُ الْقَوْلُ لَدَيَّ وَمَا أَنَا بِظَلَّامٍ لِّلْعَبِيدِ
- Ma yubaddalu alqawlu ladayya wama ana bithallamin lilAAabeedi (Ⅰ) - "My word shall not be changed, nor am I in the least unjust to My servants." (Ⅱ) - The sentence that cometh from Me cannot be changed, and I am in no wise a tyrant unto the slaves. (Ⅲ) - The Word is not changed with Me; I wrong not My servants.´ (Ⅳ) - "The Word changes not before Me, and I do not the least injustice to My Servants." (Ⅵ)

50.
30
يَوْمَ نَقُولُ لِجَهَنَّمَ هَلِ امْتَلَأْتِ وَتَقُولُ هَلْ مِن مَّزِيدٍ
- Yawma naqoolu lijahannama hali imtalati wataqoolu hal min mazeedin (Ⅰ) - On the day that We will say to Hell, "Are you filled up?” And it will say, "Are there any more?" (Ⅱ) - On the day when We say unto hell: Art thou filled ? and it saith: Can there be more to come ? (Ⅲ) - Upon the day We shall say unto Gehenna, ´Art thou filled?´ And it shall say, ´Are there any more to come?´ (Ⅳ) - One Day We will ask Hell, "Art thou filled to the full?" It will say, "Are there any more (to come)?" (Ⅵ)

50.
31
وَأُزْلِفَتِ الْجَنَّةُ لِلْمُتَّقِينَ غَيْرَ بَعِيدٍ
- Waozlifati aljannatu lilmuttaqeena ghayra baAAeedin (Ⅰ) - And the Garden shall be brought near to those who guard against evil, not far off: (Ⅱ) - And the Garden is brought nigh for those who kept from evil, no longer distant. (Ⅲ) - And Paradise shall be brought forward to the godfearing, not afar: (Ⅳ) - And the Garden will be brought nigh to the Righteous,- no more a thing distant. (Ⅵ)

50.
32
هَٰذَا مَا تُوعَدُونَ لِكُلِّ أَوَّابٍ حَفِيظٍ
- Hatha ma tooAAadoona likulli awwabin hafeethin (Ⅰ) - This is what you were promised, (it is) for every one who turned (to Allah or was repentant), and kept His limits (or Law); (Ⅱ) - (And it is said): This is that which ye were promised. (It is) for every penitent and heedful one, (Ⅲ) - ´This is that you were promised; it is for every mindful penitent.´ (Ⅳ) - (A voice will say:) "This is what was promised for you,- for every one who turned (to Allah) in sincere repentance, who kept (His Law), (Ⅵ)

50.
33
مَّنْ خَشِيَ الرَّحْمَٰنَ بِالْغَيْبِ وَجَاءَ بِقَلْبٍ مُّنِيبٍ
- Man khashiya alrrahmana bialghaybi wajaa biqalbin muneebin (Ⅰ) - Who fears the Beneficent One in secret (or unseen or inwardly) and comes with a penitent (or devoted) heart: (Ⅱ) - Who feareth the Beneficent in secret and cometh with a contrite heart. (Ⅲ) - Whosoever fears the All-merciful in the Unseen, and comes with a penitent heart: (Ⅳ) - "Who feared (Allah) Most Gracious Unseen, and brought a heart turned in devotion (to Him): (Ⅵ)

50.
34
ادْخُلُوهَا بِسَلَامٍ ۖ ذَٰلِكَ يَوْمُ الْخُلُودِ
- Odkhulooha bisalamin thalika yawmu alkhuloodi (Ⅰ) - "Enter you therein in peace, this is the day of Eternal Life (or Immortality)." (Ⅱ) - Enter it in peace. This is the day of immortality. (Ⅲ) - ´Enter it in peace! This is the Day of Eternity.´ (Ⅳ) - "Enter ye therein in Peace and Security; this is a Day of Eternal Life!" (Ⅵ)

50.
35
لَهُم مَّا يَشَاءُونَ فِيهَا وَلَدَيْنَا مَزِيدٌ
- Lahum ma yashaoona feeha waladayna mazeedun (Ⅰ) - They have therein all that they wish and with Us is even more. (Ⅱ) - There they have all that they desire, and there is more with Us. (Ⅲ) - Therein they shall have whatever they will; and with Us there is yet more. (Ⅳ) - There will be for them therein all that they wish,- and more besides in Our Presence. (Ⅵ)

وَكَمْ أَهْلَكْنَا قَبْلَهُم مِّن قَرْنٍ هُمْ أَشَدُّ مِنْهُم بَطْشًا فَنَقَّبُوا فِي الْبِلَادِ هَلْ مِن مَّحِيصٍ
- Wakam ahlakna qablahum min qarnin hum ashaddu minhum batshan fanaqqaboo fee albiladi hal min maheesin (Ⅰ) - And how many a generation did We destroy before them who were mightier in prowess than they. Then they wander through (or overrun) the land; but was there for them a place of refuge (when the Judgment came)? (Ⅱ) - And how many a generation We destroyed before them, who were mightier than these in prowess so that they overran the lands! Had they any place of refuge (when the judgment came) ? (Ⅲ) - How many a generation We destroyed before them that was stronger in valour than they, then they searched about in the land; was there any asylum? (Ⅳ) - But how many generations before them did We destroy (for their sins),- stronger in power than they? Then did they wander through the land: was there any place of escape (for them)? (Ⅵ)

50.
37
إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَذِكْرَىٰ لِمَن كَانَ لَهُ قَلْبٌ أَوْ أَلْقَى السَّمْعَ وَهُوَ شَهِيدٌ
- Inna fee thalika lathikra liman kana lahu qalbun aw alqa alssamAAa wahuwa shaheedun (Ⅰ) - Most surely there is a reminder in this for him who has a heart or he gives ear and is a witness (or understands intelligently). (Ⅱ) - Lo! therein verily is a reminder for him who hath a heart, or giveth ear with full intelligence. (Ⅲ) - Surely in that there is a reminder to him who has a heart, or will give ear with a present mind. (Ⅳ) - Verily in this is a Message for any that has a heart and understanding or who gives ear and earnestly witnesses (the truth). (Ⅵ)

50.
38
وَلَقَدْ خَلَقْنَا السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا فِي سِتَّةِ أَيَّامٍ وَمَا مَسَّنَا مِن لُّغُوبٍ
- Walaqad khalaqna alssamawati waalarda wama baynahuma fee sittati ayyamin wama massana min lughoobin (Ⅰ) - And certainly We created the heavens and the earth and what is between them in six periods and there touched Us not any fatigue (Allah required no rest). (Ⅱ) - And verily We created the heavens and the earth, and all that is between them, in six Days, and naught of weariness touched Us. (Ⅲ) - We created the heavens and the earth, and what between them is, in six days, and no weariness touched Us. (Ⅳ) - We created the heavens and the earth and all between them in Six Days, nor did any sense of weariness touch Us. (Ⅵ)

50.
39
فَاصْبِرْ عَلَىٰ مَا يَقُولُونَ وَسَبِّحْ بِحَمْدِ رَبِّكَ قَبْلَ طُلُوعِ الشَّمْسِ وَقَبْلَ الْغُرُوبِ
- Faisbir AAala ma yaqooloona wasabbih bihamdi rabbika qabla tulooAAi alshshamsi waqabla alghuroobi (Ⅰ) - Therefore be patient of what they say, and sing the praise of your Lord before the rising of the sun and before its setting. (Ⅱ) - Therefor (O Muhammad) bear with what they say, and hymn the praise of thy Lord before the rising and before the setting of the sun; (Ⅲ) - So be thou patient under what they say, and proclaim thy Lord´s praise before the rising of the sun, and before its setting, (Ⅳ) - Bear, then, with patience, all that they say, and celebrate the praises of thy Lord, before the rising of the sun and before (its) setting. (Ⅵ)

50.
40
وَمِنَ اللَّيْلِ فَسَبِّحْهُ وَأَدْبَارَ السُّجُودِ
- Wamina allayli fasabbihhu waadbara alssujoodi (Ⅰ) - And glorify Him in the night and after the prescribed prostrations. (Ⅱ) - And in the night-time hymn His praise, and after the (prescribed) prostrations. (Ⅲ) - and proclaim thy Lord´s praise in the night, and at the ends of the prostrations. (Ⅳ) - And during part of the night, (also,) celebrate His praises, and (so likewise) after the postures of adoration. (Ⅵ)

وَاسْتَمِعْ يَوْمَ يُنَادِ الْمُنَادِ مِن مَّكَانٍ قَرِيبٍ
- WaistamiAA yawma yunadi almunadi min makanin qareebin (Ⅰ) - And listen for the Day when the Caller shall cry from a near place. (Ⅱ) - And listen on the day when the crier crieth from a near place, (Ⅲ) - And listen thou for the day when the caller shall call from a near place. (Ⅳ) - And listen for the Day when the Caller will call out from a place quiet near,- (Ⅵ)

42
يَوْمَ يَسْمَعُونَ الصَّيْحَةَ بِالْحَقِّ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ يَوْمُ الْخُرُوجِ
- Yawma yasmaAAoona alssayhata bialhaqqi thalika yawmu alkhurooji (Ⅰ) - The Day when they shall hear the Call (or Cry or Blast) in truth; that is the day of coming forth. (Ⅱ) - The day when they will hear the (Awful) Cry in truth. That is the day of coming forth (from the graves). (Ⅲ) - On the day they hear the Cry in truth, that is the day of coming forth. (Ⅳ) - The Day when they will hear a (mighty) Blast in (very) truth: that will be the Day of Resurrection. (Ⅵ)

43
إِنَّا نَحْنُ نُحْيِي وَنُمِيتُ وَإِلَيْنَا الْمَصِيرُ
- Inna nahnu nuhyee wanumeetu wailayna almaseeru (Ⅰ) - Surely We give life and cause to die, and to Us is the final destination (or goal). (Ⅱ) - Lo! We it is Who quicken and give death, and unto Us is the journeying. (Ⅲ) - It is We who give life, and make to die, and to Us is the homecoming. (Ⅳ) - Verily it is We Who give Life and Death; and to Us is the Final Goal- (Ⅵ)

44
يَوْمَ تَشَقَّقُ الْأَرْضُ عَنْهُمْ سِرَاعًا ۚ ذَٰلِكَ حَشْرٌ عَلَيْنَا يَسِيرٌ
- Yawma tashaqqaqu alardu AAanhum siraAAan thalika hashrun AAalayna yaseerun (Ⅰ) - The day on which the earth shall be rent asunder from under them, they will hasten forth; that will be a gathering together easy to Us. (Ⅱ) - On the day when the earth splitteth asunder from them, hastening forth (they come). That is a gathering easy for Us (to make). (Ⅲ) - Upon the day when the earth is split asunder from about them as they hasten forth; that is a mustering easy for Us. (Ⅳ) - The Day when the Earth will be rent asunder, from (men) hurrying out: that will be a gathering together,- quite easy for Us. (Ⅵ)

50.
45
نَّحْنُ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا يَقُولُونَ ۖ وَمَا أَنتَ عَلَيْهِم بِجَبَّارٍ ۖ فَذَكِّرْ بِالْقُرْآنِ مَن يَخَافُ وَعِيدِ
- Nahnu aAAlamu bima yaqooloona wama anta AAalayhim bijabbarin fathakkir bialqurani man yakhafu waAAeedi (Ⅰ) - We know best what they say, and you (O Muhammad) are not one to compel them; but admonish by means of the Quran him who fears My warning. (Ⅱ) - We are Best Aware of what they say, and thou (O Muhammad) art in no wise a compeller over them. But warn by the Qur'an him who feareth My threat. (Ⅲ) - We know very well what they say; thou art not a tyrant over them. Therefore remind by the Koran him who fears My threat. (Ⅳ) - We know best what they say; and thou art not one to overawe them by force. So admonish with the Qur´an such as fear My Warning! (Ⅵ)
