The horseman lifteth up both the bright sword and the glittering spear: and there is a multitude of slain, and a great number of carcases; and there is none end of their corpses; they stumble upon their corpses:

Because of the multitude of the whoredoms of the wellfavoured harlot, the mistress of witchcrafts, that selleth nations through her whoredoms, and families through her witchcrafts.
- C'est à cause des nombreuses prostitutions de la prostituée, Pleine d'attraits, habile enchanteresse, Qui vendait les nations par ses prostitutions Et les peuples par ses enchantements. Behold, I am against thee, saith the LORD of hosts; and I will discover thy skirts upon thy face, and I will shew the nations thy nakedness, and the kingdoms thy shame.
- Voici, j'en veux à toi, dit l'Éternel des armées, Je relèverai tes pans jusque sur ton visage, Je montrerai ta nudité aux nations, Et ta honte aux royaumes. (Ⅱ) - ἰδου̃ ἐγὼ ἐπὶ σέ λέγει κύριος ὁ θεὸς ὁ παντοκράτωρ καὶ ἀποκαλύψω τὰ ὀπίσω σου ἐπὶ τὸ πρόσωπόν σου καὶ δείξω ἔθνεσιν τὴν αἰσχύνην σου καὶ βασιλείαις τὴν ἀτιμίαν σου (Ⅲ) - Ecce ego ad te, dicit Dominus exercituum,/ et revelabo pudenda tua in facie tua ;/ et ostendam gentibus nuditatem tuam,/ et regnis ignominiam tuam./ (Ⅳ) - 5 ׃3 הנני אליך נאם יהוה צבאות וגליתי שוליך על פניך והראיתי גוים מערך וממלכות קלונך (Ⅴ)

And I will cast abominable filth upon thee, and make thee vile, and will set thee as a gazingstock.

(Ⅱ) - καὶ ἐπιρρίψω ἐπὶ σὲ βδελυγμὸν κατὰ τὰς ἀκαθαρσίας σου καὶ θήσομαί σε εἰς παράδειγμα (Ⅲ) - Et projiciam super te abominationes,/ et contumeliis te afficiam,/ et ponam te in exemplum./ (Ⅳ) - 6 ׃3 והשלכתי עליך שקצים ונבלתיך ושמתיך כראי (Ⅴ)

And it shall come to pass, that all they that look upon thee shall flee from thee, and say, Nineveh is laid waste: who will bemoan her? whence shall I seek comforters for thee?
- Tous ceux qui te verront fuiront loin de toi, Et l'on dira: Ninive est détruite! Qui la plaindra? Où te chercherai-je des consolateurs? (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἔσται πα̃ς ὁ ὁρω̃ν σε ἀποπηδήσεται ἀπὸ σου̃ καὶ ἐρει̃ Δειλαία Νινευη τίς στενάξει αὐτήν πόθεν ζητήσω παράκλησιν αὐτη̨̃ (Ⅲ) - Et erit : omnis qui viderit te resiliet a te,/ et dicet : Vastata est Ninive./ Quis commovebit super te caput ?/ unde quæram consolatorem tibi ?/ (Ⅳ) - 7 ׃3 והיה כל ראיך ידוד ממך ואמר שדדה נינוה מי ינוד לה מאין אבקש מנחמים לך (Ⅴ)

Art thou better than populous No, that was situate among the rivers, that had the waters round about it, whose rampart was the sea, and her wall was from the sea?

Ethiopia and Egypt were her strength, and it was infinite; Put and Lubim were thy helpers.
- L'Éthiopie et les Égyptiens innombrables faisaient sa force, Puth et les Libyens étaient ses auxiliaires. (Ⅱ) - καὶ Αἰθιοπία ἡ ἰσχὺς αὐτη̃ς καὶ Αἴγυπτος καὶ οὐκ ἔστιν πέρας τη̃ς φυγη̃ς καὶ Λίβυες ἐγένοντο βοηθοὶ αὐτη̃ς (Ⅲ) - Æthiopia fortitudo ejus, et Ægyptus, et non est finis ;/ Africa et Libyes fuerunt in auxilio tuo./ (Ⅳ) - 9 ׃3 כוש עצמה ומצרים ואין קצה פוט ולובים היו בעזרתך (Ⅴ)

Yet was she carried away, she went into captivity: her young children also were dashed in pieces at the top of all the streets: and they cast lots for her honourable men, and all her great men were bound in chains.
- Et cependant elle est partie pour l'exil, elle s'en est allée captive; Ses enfants ont été écrasés au coin de toutes les rues; On a jeté le sort sur ses nobles, Et tous ses grands ont été chargés de chaînes. (Ⅱ) - καὶ αὐτὴ εἰς μετοικεσίαν πορεύσεται αἰχμάλωτος καὶ τὰ νήπια αὐτη̃ς ἐδαφιου̃σιν ἐπ' ἀρχὰς πασω̃ν τω̃ν ὁδω̃ν αὐτη̃ς καὶ ἐπὶ πάντα τὰ ἔνδοξα αὐτη̃ς βαλου̃σιν κλήρους καὶ πάντες οἱ μεγιστα̃νες αὐτη̃ς δεθήσονται χειροπέδαις (Ⅲ) - Sed et ipsa in transmigrationem ducta est in captivitatem :/ parvuli ejus elisi sunt in capite omnium viarum,/ et super inclytos ejus miserunt sortem,/ et omnes optimates ejus confixi sunt in compedibus./ (Ⅳ) - 10 ׃3 גם היא לגלה הלכה בשבי גם עלליה ירטשו בראש כל חוצות ועל נכבדיה ידו גורל וכל גדוליה רתקו בזקים (Ⅴ)

Thou also shalt be drunken: thou shalt be hid, thou also shalt seek strength because of the enemy.

(Ⅱ) - καὶ σὺ μεθυσθήση̨ καὶ ἔση̨ ὑπερεωραμένη καὶ σὺ ζητήσεις σεαυτη̨̃ στάσιν ἐξ ἐχθρω̃ν (Ⅲ) - Et tu ergo inebriaberis, et eris despecta :/ et tu quæres auxilium ab inimico./ (Ⅳ) - 11 ׃3 גם את תשכרי תהי נעלמה גם את תבקשי מעוז מאויב (Ⅴ)

All thy strong holds shall be like fig trees with the firstripe figs: if they be shaken, they shall even fall into the mouth of the eater.
- Toutes tes forteresses Sont des figuiers avec les primeurs; Quand on les secoue, Elles tombent dans la bouche de qui veut les manger. (Ⅱ) - πάντα τὰ ὀχυρώματά σου συκαι̃ σκοποὺς ἔχουσαι ἐὰν σαλευθω̃σιν καὶ πεσου̃νται εἰς στόμα ἔσθοντος (Ⅲ) - Omnes munitiones tuæ sicut ficus cum grossis suis :/ si concussæ fuerint, cadent in os comedentis./ (Ⅳ) - 12 ׃3 כל מבצריך תאנים עם בכורים אם ינועו ונפלו על פי אוכל (Ⅴ)

Behold, thy people in the midst of thee are women: the gates of thy land shall be set wide open unto thine enemies: the fire shall devour thy bars.
- Voici, ton peuple, ce sont des femmes au milieu de toi; Les portes de ton pays s'ouvrent à tes ennemis; Le feu consume tes verrous. (Ⅱ) - ἰδοὺ ὁ λαός σου ὡς γυναι̃κες ἐν σοί τοι̃ς ἐχθροι̃ς σου ἀνοιγόμεναι ἀνοιχθήσονται πύλαι τη̃ς γη̃ς σου καὶ καταφάγεται πυ̃ρ τοὺς μοχλούς σου (Ⅲ) - Ecce populus tuus mulieres in medio tui :/ inimicis tuis adapertione pandentur portæ terræ tuæ,/ devorabit ignis vectes tuos./ (Ⅳ) - 13 ׃3 הנה עמך נשים בקרבך לאיביך פתוח נפתחו שערי ארצך אכלה אש בריחיך[U] (Ⅴ)

Draw thee waters for the siege, fortify thy strong holds: go into clay, and tread the morter, make strong the brickkiln.

(Ⅱ) - ὕδωρ περιοχη̃ς ἐπίσπασαι σεαυτη̨̃ καὶ κατακράτησον τω̃ν ὀχυρωμάτων σου ἔμβηθι εἰς πηλὸν καὶ συμπατήθητι ἐν ἀχύροις κατακράτησον ὑπὲρ πλίνθον (Ⅲ) - Aquam propter obsidionem hauri tibi :/ exstrue munitiones tuas,/ intra in lutum, et calca,/ subigens tene laterem./ (Ⅳ) - 14 ׃3 מי מצור שאבי לך חזקי מבצריך באי בטיט ורמסי בחמר החזיקי מלבן (Ⅴ)

There shall the fire devour thee; the sword shall cut thee off, it shall eat thee up like the cankerworm: make thyself many as the cankerworm, make thyself many as the locusts.

Thou hast multiplied thy merchants above the stars of heaven: the cankerworm spoileth, and fleeth away.

(Ⅱ) - ἐπλήθυνας τὰς ἐμπορίας σου ὑπὲρ τὰ ἄστρα του̃ οὐρανου̃ βρου̃χος ὥρμησεν καὶ ἐξεπετάσθη (Ⅲ) - Plures fecisti negotiationes tuas quam stellæ sint cæli ;/ bruchus expansus est, et avolavit./ (Ⅳ) - 16 ׃3 הרבית רכליך מכוכבי השמים ילק פשט ויעף (Ⅴ)

Thy crowned are as the locusts, and thy captains as the great grasshoppers, which camp in the hedges in the cold day, but when the sun ariseth they flee away, and their place is not known where they are.
- Tes princes sont comme les sauterelles, Tes chefs comme une multitude de sauterelles, Qui se posent sur les haies au temps de la froidure: Le soleil paraît, elles s'envolent, Et l'on ne connaît plus le lieu où elles étaient. (Ⅱ) - ἐξήλατο ὡς ἀττέλεβος ὁ σύμμικτός σου ὡς ἀκρὶς ἐπιβεβηκυι̃α ἐπὶ φραγμὸν ἐν ἡμέραις πάγους ὁ ἥλιος ἀνέτειλεν καὶ ἀφήλατο καὶ οὐκ ἔγνω τὸν τόπον αὐτη̃ς οὐαὶ αὐτοι̃ς (Ⅲ) - Custodes tui quasi locustæ,/ et parvuli tui quasi locustæ locustarum,/ quæ considunt in sepibus in die frigoris :/ sol ortus est, et avolaverunt,/ et non est cognitus locus earum ubi fuerint./ (Ⅳ) - 17 ׃3 מנזריך כארבה וטפסריך כגוב גבי החונים בגדרות ביום קרה שמש זרחה ונודד ולא נודע מקומו אים (Ⅴ)

Thy shepherds slumber, O king of Assyria: thy nobles shall dwell in the dust: thy people is scattered upon the mountains, and no man gathereth them.
- Tes bergers sommeillent, roi d'Assyrie, Tes vaillants hommes reposent; Ton peuple est dispersé sur les montagnes, Et nul ne le rassemble. (Ⅱ) - ἐνύσταξαν οἱ ποιμένες σου βασιλεὺς 'Ασσύριος ἐκοίμισεν τοὺς δυνάστας σου ἀπη̃ρεν ὁ λαός σου ἐπὶ τὰ ὄρη καὶ οὐκ ἠ̃ν ὁ ἐκδεχόμενος (Ⅲ) - Dormitaverunt pastores tui, rex Assur,/ sepelientur principes tui :/ latitavit populus tuus in montibus,/ et non est qui congreget./ (Ⅳ) - 18 ׃3 נמו רעיך מלך אשור ישכנו אדיריך נפשו עמך על ההרים ואין מקבץ (Ⅴ)

There is no healing of thy bruise; thy wound is grievous: all that hear the bruit of thee shall clap the hands over thee: for upon whom hath not thy wickedness passed continually?
- Il n'y a point de remède à ta blessure, Ta plaie est mortelle. Tous ceux qui entendront parler de toi Battront des mains sur toi; Car quel est celui que ta méchanceté n'a pas atteint? (Ⅱ) - οὐκ ἔστιν ἴασις τη̨̃ συντριβη̨̃ σου ἐφλέγμανεν ἡ πληγή σου πάντες οἱ ἀκούοντες τὴν ἀγγελίαν σου κροτήσουσιν χει̃ρας ἐπὶ σέ διότι ἐπὶ τίνα οὐκ ἐπη̃λθεν ἡ κακία σου διὰ παντός (Ⅲ) - Non est obscura contritio tua ;/ pessima est plaga tua./ Omnes qui audierunt auditionem tuam compresserunt manum super te :/ quia super quem non transiit malitia tua semper ?] (Ⅳ) - 19 ׃3 אין כהה לשברך נחלה מכתך כל שמעי שמעך תקעו כף עליך כי על מי לא עברה רעתך תמיד (Ⅴ)
