Car désormais cinq dans une maison seront divisés, trois contre deux, et deux contre trois;

- The father shall be divided against the son, and the son against the father; the mother against the daughter, and the daughter against the mother; the mother in law against her daughter in law, and the daughter in law against her mother in law. (Ⅱ) - ⸀διαμερισθήσονται πατὴρ ἐπὶ υἱῷ καὶ υἱὸς ἐπὶ πατρί, μήτηρ ⸀ἐπὶ ⸀θυγατέρα καὶ θυγάτηρ ἐπὶ ⸂τὴν μητέρα⸃, πενθερὰ ἐπὶ τὴν νύμφην αὐτῆς καὶ νύμφη ἐπὶ τὴν ⸀πενθεράν. (Ⅲ) - dividentur : pater in filium, et filius in patrem suum, mater in filiam, et filia in matrem, socrus in nurum suam, et nurus in socrum suam.\ (Ⅳ)

Il dit encore aux foules: Quand vous voyez un nuage se lever à l'occident, vous dites aussitôt: La pluie vient. Et il arrive ainsi.
- And he said also to the people, When ye see a cloud rise out of the west, straightway ye say, There cometh a shower; and so it is. (Ⅱ) - Ἔλεγεν δὲ καὶ τοῖς ὄχλοις· Ὅταν ⸀ἴδητε νεφέλην ἀνατέλλουσαν ⸀ἐπὶ δυσμῶν, εὐθέως λέγετε ⸀ὅτι Ὄμβρος ἔρχεται, καὶ γίνεται οὕτως· (Ⅲ) - Dicebat autem et ad turbas : Cum videritis nubem orientem ab occasu, statim dicitis : Nimbus venit : et ita fit. Et quand vous voyez souffler le vent du midi, vous dites: Il fera chaud. Et cela arrive.
- And when ye see the south wind blow, ye say, There will be heat; and it cometh to pass. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ὅταν νότον πνέοντα, λέγετε ὅτι Καύσων ἔσται, καὶ γίνεται. (Ⅲ) - Et cum austrum flantem, dicitis : Quia æstus erit : et fit. (Ⅳ)

Hypocrites! vous savez discerner l'aspect de la terre et du ciel; comment ne discernez-vous pas ce temps-ci?
- Ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky and of the earth; but how is it that ye do not discern this time? (Ⅱ) - ὑποκριταί, τὸ πρόσωπον τῆς γῆς καὶ τοῦ οὐρανοῦ οἴδατε δοκιμάζειν, τὸν ⸂δὲ καιρὸν⸃ τοῦτον πῶς ⸂οὐκ οἴδατε δοκιμάζειν⸃; (Ⅲ) - Hypocritæ ! faciem cæli et terræ nostis probare : hoc autem tempus quomodo non probatis ? (Ⅳ)

Et pourquoi ne discernez-vous pas de vous-mêmes ce qui est juste?
- Yea, and why even of yourselves judge ye not what is right? (Ⅱ) - Τί δὲ καὶ ἀφ’ ἑαυτῶν οὐ κρίνετε τὸ δίκαιον; (Ⅲ) - quid autem et a vobis ipsis non judicatis quod justum est ?\ (Ⅳ)

Lorsque tu vas avec ton adversaire devant le magistrat, tâche en chemin de te dégager de lui, de peur qu'il ne te traîne devant le juge, que le juge ne te livre à l'officier de justice, et que celui-ci ne te mette en prison.
- When thou goest with thine adversary to the magistrate, as thou art in the way, give diligence that thou mayest be delivered from him; lest he hale thee to the judge, and the judge deliver thee to the officer, and the officer cast thee into prison. (Ⅱ) - ὡς γὰρ ὑπάγεις μετὰ τοῦ ἀντιδίκου σου ἐπ’ ἄρχοντα, ἐν τῇ ὁδῷ δὸς ἐργασίαν ἀπηλλάχθαι ἀπ’ αὐτοῦ, μήποτε κατασύρῃ σε πρὸς τὸν κριτήν, καὶ ὁ κριτής σε ⸀παραδώσει τῷ πράκτορι, καὶ ὁ πράκτωρ σε ⸀βαλεῖ εἰς φυλακήν. (Ⅲ) - Cum autem vadis cum adversario tuo ad principem, in via da operam liberari ab illo, ne forte trahat te ad judicem, et judex tradat te exactori, et exactor mittat te in carcerem. (Ⅳ)

- I tell thee, thou shalt not depart thence, till thou hast paid the very last mite. (Ⅱ) - λέγω σοι, οὐ μὴ ἐξέλθῃς ἐκεῖθεν ἕως ⸂καὶ τὸ⸃ ἔσχατον λεπτὸν ἀποδῷς. (Ⅲ) - Dico tibi, non exies inde, donec etiam novissimum minutum reddas. (Ⅳ)
