2. 1

Nous nous tournâmes, et nous partîmes pour le désert, par le chemin de la mer Rouge, comme l'Éternel me l'avait ordonné; nous suivîmes longtemps les contours de la montagne de Séir.

- Then we turned, and took our journey into the wilderness by the way of the Red sea, as the LORD spake unto me: and we compassed mount Seir many days. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐπιστραφέντες ἀπήραμεν εἰς τὴν ἔρημον ὁδὸν θάλασσαν ἐρυθράν ὃν τρόπον ἐλάλησεν κύριος πρός με καὶ ἐκυκλώσαμεν τὸ ὄρος τὸ Σηιρ ἡμέρας πολλάς (Ⅲ)

- Profectique inde, venimus in solitudinem, quæ ducit ad mare Rubrum, sicut mihi dixerat Dominus : et circuivimus montem Seir longo tempore. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 1 ׃2 ונפן ונסע המדברה דרך ים סוף כאשר דבר יהוה אלי ונסב את הר שעיר ימים רבים ס‬ (Ⅴ)

L'Éternel me dit:

- And the LORD spake unto me, saying, (Ⅱ)

- καὶ εἰ̃πεν κύριος πρός με (Ⅲ)

- Dixitque Dominus ad me : (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 2 ׃2 ויאמר יהוה אלי לאמר ‬ (Ⅴ)

Vous avez assez suivi les contours de cette montagne. Tournez-vous vers le nord.

- Ye have compassed this mountain long enough: turn you northward. (Ⅱ)

- ἱκανούσθω ὑμι̃ν κυκλου̃ν τὸ ὄρος του̃το ἐπιστράφητε οὐ̃ν ἐπὶ βορρα̃ν (Ⅲ)

- Sufficit vobis circuire montem istum : ite contra aquilonem : (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 3 ׃2 רב לכם סב את ההר הזה פנו לכם צפנה ‬ (Ⅴ)

2. 4

Donne cet ordre au peuple: Vous allez passer à la frontière de vos frères, les enfants d'Ésaü, qui habitent en Séir. Ils vous craindront; mais soyez bien sur vos gardes.

- And command thou the people, saying, Ye are to pass through the coast of your brethren the children of Esau, which dwell in Seir; and they shall be afraid of you: take ye good heed unto yourselves therefore: (Ⅱ)

- καὶ τω̨̃ λαω̨̃ ἔντειλαι λέγων ὑμει̃ς παραπορεύεσθε διὰ τω̃ν ὁρίων τω̃ν ἀδελφω̃ν ὑμω̃ν υἱω̃ν Ησαυ οἳ κατοικου̃σιν ἐν Σηιρ καὶ φοβηθήσονται ὑμα̃ς καὶ εὐλαβηθήσονται ὑμα̃ς σφόδρα (Ⅲ)

- et populo præcipe, dicens : Transibitis per terminos fratrum vestrorum filiorum Esau, qui habitant in Seir, et timebunt vos. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 4 ׃2 ואת העם צו לאמר אתם עברים בגבול אחיכם בני עשו הישבים בשעיר וייראו מכם ונשמרתם מאד ‬ (Ⅴ)

Ne les attaquez pas; car je ne vous donnerai dans leur pays pas même de quoi poser la plante du pied: j'ai donné la montagne de Séir en propriété à Ésaü.

- Meddle not with them; for I will not give you of their land, no, not so much as a foot breadth; because I have given mount Seir unto Esau for a possession. (Ⅱ)

- μὴ συνάψητε πρὸς αὐτοὺς πόλεμον οὐ γὰρ μὴ δω̃ ὑμι̃ν ἀπὸ τη̃ς γη̃ς αὐτω̃ν οὐδὲ βη̃μα ποδός ὅτι ἐν κλήρω̨ δέδωκα τοι̃ς υἱοι̃ς Ησαυ τὸ ὄρος τὸ Σηιρ (Ⅲ)

- Videte ergo diligenter ne moveamini contra eos. Neque enim dabo vobis de terra eorum quantum potest unius pedis calcare vestigium, quia in possessionem Esau dedi montem Seir. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 5 ׃2 אל תתגרו בם כי לא אתן לכם מארצם עד מדרך כף רגל כי ירשה לעשו נתתי את הר שעיר ‬ (Ⅴ)

2. 6

Vous achèterez d'eux à prix d'argent la nourriture que vous mangerez, et vous achèterez d'eux à prix d'argent même l'eau que vous boirez.

- Ye shall buy meat of them for money, that ye may eat; and ye shall also buy water of them for money, that ye may drink. (Ⅱ)

- βρώματα ἀργυρίου ἀγοράσατε παρ' αὐτω̃ν καὶ φάγεσθε καὶ ὕδωρ μέτρω̨ λήμψεσθε παρ' αὐτω̃ν ἀργυρίου καὶ πίεσθε (Ⅲ)

- Cibos emetis ab eis pecunia, et comedetis : aquam emptam haurietis, et bibetis. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 6 ׃2 אכל תשברו מאתם בכסף ואכלתם וגם מים תכרו מאתם בכסף ושתיתם ‬ (Ⅴ)

Car l'Éternel, ton Dieu, t'a béni dans tout le travail de tes mains, il a connu ta marche dans ce grand désert. Voilà quarante années que l'Éternel, ton Dieu, est avec toi: tu n'as manqué de rien.

- For the LORD thy God hath blessed thee in all the works of thy hand: he knoweth thy walking through this great wilderness: these forty years the LORD thy God hath been with thee; thou hast lacked nothing. (Ⅱ)

- ὁ γὰρ κύριος ὁ θεὸς ἡμω̃ν εὐλόγησέν σε ἐν παντὶ ἔργω̨ τω̃ν χειρω̃ν σου διάγνωθι πω̃ς διη̃λθες τὴν ἔρημον τὴν μεγάλην καὶ τὴν φοβερὰν ἐκείνην ἰδοὺ τεσσαράκοντα ἔτη κύριος ὁ θεός σου μετὰ σου̃ οὐκ ἐπεδεήθης ῥήματος (Ⅲ)

- Dominus Deus tuus benedixit tibi in omni opere manuum tuarum : novit iter tuum, quomodo transieris solitudinem hanc magnam, per quadraginta annos habitans tecum Dominus Deus tuus, et nihil tibi defuit. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 7 ׃2 כי יהוה אלהיך ברכך בכל מעשה ידך ידע לכתך את המדבר הגדל הזה זה ארבעים שנה יהוה אלהיך עמך לא חסרת דבר ‬ (Ⅴ)

Nous passâmes à distance de nos frères, les enfants d'Ésaü, qui habitent en Séir, et à distance du chemin de la plaine, d'Élath et d'Etsjon Guéber, puis nous nous tournâmes, et nous prîmes la direction du désert de Moab.

- And when we passed by from our brethren the children of Esau, which dwelt in Seir, through the way of the plain from Elath, and from Eziongaber, we turned and passed by the way of the wilderness of Moab. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ παρήλθομεν τοὺς ἀδελφοὺς ἡμω̃ν υἱοὺς Ησαυ τοὺς κατοικου̃ντας ἐν Σηιρ παρὰ τὴν ὁδὸν τὴν Αραβα ἀπὸ Αιλων καὶ ἀπὸ Γασιωνγαβερ καὶ ἐπιστρέψαντες παρήλθομεν ὁδὸν ἔρημον Μωαβ (Ⅲ)

- Cumque transissemus fratres nostros filios Esau, qui habitabant in Seir, per viam campestrem de Elath, et de Asiongaber, venimus ad iter quod ducit in desertum Moab.\ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 8 ׃2 ונעבר מאת אחינו בני עשו הישבים בשעיר מדרך הערבה מאילת ומעצין גבר סונפן ונעבר דרך מדבר מואב ‬ (Ⅴ)

L'Éternel me dit: N'attaque pas Moab, et ne t'engage pas dans un combat avec lui; car je ne te donnerai rien à posséder dans son pays: c'est aux enfants de Lot que j'ai donné Ar en propriété.

- And the LORD said unto me, Distress not the Moabites, neither contend with them in battle: for I will not give thee of their land for a possession; because I have given Ar unto the children of Lot for a possession. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ εἰ̃πεν κύριος πρός με μὴ ἐχθραίνετε τοι̃ς Μωαβίταις καὶ μὴ συνάψητε πρὸς αὐτοὺς πόλεμον οὐ γὰρ μὴ δω̃ ὑμι̃ν ἀπὸ τη̃ς γη̃ς αὐτω̃ν ἐν κλήρω̨ τοι̃ς γὰρ υἱοι̃ς Λωτ δέδωκα τὴν Σηιρ κληρονομει̃ν (Ⅲ)

- Dixitque Dominus ad me : Non pugnes contra Moabitas, nec ineas adversus eos prælium : non enim dabo tibi quidquam de terra eorum, quia filiis Loth tradidi Ar in possessionem. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 9 ׃2 ויאמר יהוה אלי אל תצר‪[U]‬ את מואב ואל תתגר בם מלחמה כי לא אתן לך מארצו ירשה כי לבני לוט נתתי את ער ירשה ‬ (Ⅴ)

(Les Émim y habitaient auparavant; c'était un peuple grand, nombreux et de haute taille, comme les Anakim.

- The Emims dwelt therein in times past, a people great, and many, and tall, as the Anakims; (Ⅱ)

- οἱ Ομμιν πρότεροι ἐνεκάθηντο ἐπ' αὐτη̃ς ἔθνος μέγα καὶ πολὺ καὶ ἰσχύοντες ὥσπερ οἱ Ενακιμ (Ⅲ)

- Emim primi fuerunt habitatores ejus, populus magnus, et validus, et tam excelsus ut de Enacim stirpe, (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 10 ׃2 האמים לפנים ישבו בה עם גדול ורב ורם כענקים ‬ (Ⅴ)

Ils passaient aussi pour être des Rephaïm, de même que les Anakim; mais les Moabites les appelaient Émim.

- Which also were accounted giants, as the Anakims; but the Moabites called them Emims. (Ⅱ)

- Ραφαϊν λογισθήσονται καὶ οὑ̃τοι ὥσπερ οἱ Ενακιμ καὶ οἱ Μωαβι̃ται ἐπονομάζουσιν αὐτοὺς Ομμιν (Ⅲ)

- quasi gigantes crederentur, et essent similes filiorum Enacim. Denique Moabitæ appellant eos Emim. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 11 ׃2 רפאים יחשבו אף הם כענקים והמאבים יקראו להם אמים ‬ (Ⅴ)

2. 12

Séir était habité autrefois par les Horiens; les enfants d'Ésaü les chassèrent, les détruisirent devant eux, et s'établirent à leur place, comme l'a fait Israël dans le pays qu'il possède et que l'Éternel lui a donné.)

- The Horims also dwelt in Seir beforetime; but the children of Esau succeeded them, when they had destroyed them from before them, and dwelt in their stead; as Israel did unto the land of his possession, which the LORD gave unto them. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐν Σηιρ ἐνεκάθητο ὁ Χορραι̃ος πρότερον καὶ υἱοὶ Ησαυ ἀπώλεσαν αὐτοὺς καὶ ἐξέτριψαν αὐτοὺς ἀπὸ προσώπου αὐτω̃ν καὶ κατω̨κίσθησαν ἀντ' αὐτω̃ν ὃν τρόπον ἐποίησεν Ισραηλ τὴν γη̃ν τη̃ς κληρονομίας αὐτου̃ ἣν δέδωκεν κύριος αὐτοι̃ς (Ⅲ)

- In Seir autem prius habitaverunt Horrhæi : quibus expulsis atque deletis, habitaverunt filii Esau, sicut fecit Israël in terra possessionis suæ, quam dedit illi Dominus. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 12 ׃2 ובשעיר ישבו החרים לפנים ובני עשו יירשום וישמידום מפניהם וישבו תחתם כאשר עשה ישראל לארץ ירשתו אשר נתן יהוה להם ‬ (Ⅴ)

2. 13

Maintenant levez-vous, et passez le torrent de Zéred. Nous passâmes le torrent de Zéred.

- Now rise up, said I, and get you over the brook Zered. And we went over the brook Zered. (Ⅱ)

- νυ̃ν οὐ̃ν ἀνάστητε καὶ ἀπάρατε ὑμει̃ς καὶ παραπορεύεσθε τὴν φάραγγα Ζαρετ καὶ παρήλθομεν τὴν φάραγγα Ζαρετ (Ⅲ)

- Surgentes ergo ut transiremus torrentem Zared, venimus ad eum. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 13 ׃2 עתה קמו ועברו לכם את נחל זרד ונעבר את נחל זרד ‬ (Ⅴ)

2. 14

Le temps que durèrent nos marches de Kadès Barnéa au passage du torrent de Zéred fut de trente-huit ans, jusqu'à ce que toute la génération des hommes de guerre eût disparu du milieu du camp, comme l'Éternel le leur avait juré.

- And the space in which we came from Kadeshbarnea, until we were come over the brook Zered, was thirty and eight years; until all the generation of the men of war were wasted out from among the host, as the LORD sware unto them. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ αἱ ἡμέραι ἃς παρεπορεύθημεν ἀπὸ Καδης Βαρνη ἕως οὑ̃ παρήλθομεν τὴν φάραγγα Ζαρετ τριάκοντα καὶ ὀκτὼ ἔτη ἕως οὑ̃ διέπεσεν πα̃σα γενεὰ ἀνδρω̃ν πολεμιστω̃ν ἀποθνή̨σκοντες ἐκ τη̃ς παρεμβολη̃ς καθότι ὤμοσεν αὐτοι̃ς ὁ θεός (Ⅲ)

- Tempus autem, quo ambulavimus de Cadesbarne usque ad transitum torrentis Zared, triginta et octo annorum fuit : donec consumeretur omnis generatio hominum bellatorum de castris, sicut juraverat Dominus : (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 14 ׃2 והימים אשר הלכנו מקדש ברנע עד אשר עברנו את נחל זרד שלשים ושמנה שנה עד תם כל הדור אנשי המלחמה מקרב המחנה כאשר נשבע יהוה להם ‬ (Ⅴ)

La main de l'Éternel fut aussi sur eux pour les détruire du milieu du camp, jusqu'à ce qu'ils eussent disparu.

- For indeed the hand of the LORD was against them, to destroy them from among the host, until they were consumed. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἡ χεὶρ του̃ θεου̃ ἠ̃ν ἐπ' αὐτοι̃ς ἐξαναλω̃σαι αὐτοὺς ἐκ τη̃ς παρεμβολη̃ς ἕως οὑ̃ διέπεσαν (Ⅲ)

- cujus manus fuit adversum eos, ut interirent de castrorum medio.\ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 15 ׃2 וגם יד יהוה היתה בם להמם מקרב המחנה עד תמם ‬ (Ⅴ)

2. 16

Lorsque tous les hommes de guerre eurent disparu par la mort du milieu du peuple,

- So it came to pass, when all the men of war were consumed and dead from among the people, (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐγενήθη ἐπεὶ διέπεσαν πάντες οἱ ἄνδρες οἱ πολεμισταὶ ἀποθνή̨σκοντες ἐκ μέσου του̃ λαου̃ (Ⅲ)

- Postquam autem universi ceciderunt pugnatores, (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 16 ׃2 ויהי כאשר תמו כל אנשי המלחמה למות מקרב העם ס‬ (Ⅴ)

l'Éternel me parla, et dit:

- That the LORD spake unto me, saying, (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐλάλησεν κύριος πρός με λέγων (Ⅲ)

- locutus est Dominus ad me, dicens : (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 17 ׃2 וידבר יהוה אלי לאמר ‬ (Ⅴ)

2. 18

Tu passeras aujourd'hui la frontière de Moab, à Ar,

- Thou art to pass over through Ar, the coast of Moab, this day: (Ⅱ)

- σὺ παραπορεύση̨ σήμερον τὰ ὅρια Μωαβ τὴν Σηιρ (Ⅲ)

- Tu transibis hodie terminos Moab, urbem nomine Ar : (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 18 ׃2 אתה עבר היום את גבול מואב את ער ‬ (Ⅴ)

2. 19

et tu approcheras des enfants d'Ammon. Ne les attaque pas, et ne t'engage pas dans un combat avec eux; car je ne te donnerai rien à posséder dans le pays des enfants d'Ammon: c'est aux enfants de Lot que je l'ai donné en propriété.

- And when thou comest nigh over against the children of Ammon, distress them not, nor meddle with them: for I will not give thee of the land of the children of Ammon any possession; because I have given it unto the children of Lot for a possession. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ προσάξετε ἐγγὺς υἱω̃ν Αμμαν μὴ ἐχθραίνετε αὐτοι̃ς καὶ μὴ συνάψητε αὐτοι̃ς εἰς πόλεμον οὐ γὰρ μὴ δω̃ ἀπὸ τη̃ς γη̃ς υἱω̃ν Αμμαν σοὶ ἐν κλήρω̨ ὅτι τοι̃ς υἱοι̃ς Λωτ δέδωκα αὐτὴν ἐν κλήρω̨ (Ⅲ)

- et accedens in vicina filiorum Ammon, cave ne pugnes contra eos, nec movearis ad prælium : non enim dabo tibi de terra filiorum Ammon, quia filiis Loth dedi eam in possessionem. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 19 ׃2 וקרבת מול בני עמון אל תצרם ואל תתגר בם כי לא אתן מארץ בני עמון לך ירשה כי לבני לוט נתתיה ירשה ‬ (Ⅴ)

2. 20

(Ce pays passait aussi pour un pays de Rephaïm; des Rephaïm y habitaient auparavant, et les Ammonites les appelaient Zamzummim:

- (That also was accounted a land of giants: giants dwelt therein in old time; and the Ammonites call them Zamzummims; (Ⅱ)

- γη̃ Ραφαϊν λογισθήσεται καὶ γὰρ ἐπ' αὐτη̃ς κατώ̨κουν οἱ Ραφαϊν τὸ πρότερον καὶ οἱ Αμμανι̃ται ὀνομάζουσιν αὐτοὺς Ζομζομμιν (Ⅲ)

- Terra gigantum reputata est : et in ipsa olim habitaverunt gigantes, quos Ammonitæ vocant Zomzommim, (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 20 ׃2 ארץ רפאים תחשב אף הוא רפאים ישבו בה לפנים והעמנים יקראו להם זמזמים ‬ (Ⅴ)

c'était un peuple grand, nombreux et de haute taille, comme les Anakim. L'Éternel les détruisit devant les Ammonites, qui les chassèrent et s'établirent à leur place.

- A people great, and many, and tall, as the Anakims; but the LORD destroyed them before them; and they succeeded them, and dwelt in their stead: (Ⅱ)

- ἔθνος μέγα καὶ πολὺ καὶ δυνατώτερον ὑμω̃ν ὥσπερ οἱ Ενακιμ καὶ ἀπώλεσεν αὐτοὺς κύριος πρὸ προσώπου αὐτω̃ν καὶ κατεκληρονόμησαν καὶ κατω̨κίσθησαν ἀντ' αὐτω̃ν ἕως τη̃ς ἡμέρας ταύτης (Ⅲ)

- populus magnus, et multus, et proceræ longitudinis, sicut Enacim, quos delevit Dominus a facie eorum : et fecit illos habitare pro eis, (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 21 ׃2 עם גדול ורב ורם כענקים וישמידם יהוה מפניהם ויירשם וישבו תחתם ‬ (Ⅴ)

2. 22

C'est ainsi que fit l'Éternel pour les enfants d'Ésaü qui habitent en Séir, quand il détruisit les Horiens devant eux; ils les chassèrent et s'établirent à leur place, jusqu'à ce jour.

- As he did to the children of Esau, which dwelt in Seir, when he destroyed the Horims from before them; and they succeeded them, and dwelt in their stead even unto this day: (Ⅱ)

- ὥσπερ ἐποίησαν τοι̃ς υἱοι̃ς Ησαυ τοι̃ς κατοικου̃σιν ἐν Σηιρ ὃν τρόπον ἐξέτριψαν τὸν Χορραι̃ον ἀπὸ προσώπου αὐτω̃ν καὶ κατεκληρονόμησαν καὶ κατω̨κίσθησαν ἀντ' αὐτω̃ν ἕως τη̃ς ἡμέρας ταύτης (Ⅲ)

- sicut fecerat filiis Esau, qui habitant in Seir, delens Horrhæos, et terram eorum illis tradens, quam possident usque in præsens. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 22 ׃2 כאשר עשה לבני עשו הישבים בשעיר אשר השמיד את החרי מפניהם ויירשם וישבו תחתם עד היום הזה ‬ (Ⅴ)

2. 23

Les Avviens, qui habitaient dans des villages jusqu'à Gaza, furent détruits par les Caphtorim, sortis de Caphtor, qui s'établirent à leur place.)

- And the Avims which dwelt in Hazerim, even unto Azzah, the Caphtorims, which came forth out of Caphtor, destroyed them, and dwelt in their stead.) (Ⅱ)

- καὶ οἱ Ευαι̃οι οἱ κατοικου̃ντες ἐν ασηρωθ ἕως Γάζης καὶ οἱ Καππάδοκες οἱ ἐξελθόντες ἐκ Καππαδοκίας ἐξέτριψαν αὐτοὺς καὶ κατω̨κίσθησαν ἀντ' αὐτω̃ν (Ⅲ)

- Hevæos quoque, qui habitabant in Haserim usque Gazan, Cappadoces expulerunt : qui egressi de Cappadocia deleverunt eos, et habitaverunt pro illis. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 23 ׃2 והעוים הישבים בחצרים עד עזה כפתרים היצאים מכפתור השמידם וישבו תחתם ‬ (Ⅴ)

2. 24

Levez-vous, partez, et passez le torrent de l'Arnon. Vois, je livre entre tes mains Sihon, roi de Hesbon, l'Amoréen et son pays. Commence la conquête, fais-lui la guerre!

- Rise ye up, take your journey, and pass over the river Arnon: behold, I have given into thine hand Sihon the Amorite, king of Heshbon, and his land: begin to possess it, and contend with him in battle. (Ⅱ)

- νυ̃ν οὐ̃ν ἀνάστητε καὶ ἀπάρατε καὶ παρέλθατε ὑμει̃ς τὴν φάραγγα Αρνων ἰδοὺ παραδέδωκα εἰς τὰς χει̃ράς σου τὸν Σηων βασιλέα Εσεβων τὸν Αμορραι̃ον καὶ τὴν γη̃ν αὐτου̃ ἐνάρχου κληρονομει̃ν σύναπτε πρὸς αὐτὸν πόλεμον (Ⅲ)

- Surgite, et transite torrentem Arnon : ecce tradidi in manu tua Sehon regem Hesebon Amorrhæum, et terram ejus incipe possidere, et committe adversus eum prælium. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 24 ׃2 קומו סעו ועברו את נחל ארנן ראה נתתי בידך את סיחן מלך חשבון האמרי ואת ארצו החל רש והתגר בו מלחמה ‬ (Ⅴ)

2. 25

Je vais répandre dès aujourd'hui la frayeur et la crainte de toi sur tous les peuples qui sont sous le ciel; et, au bruit de ta renommée, ils trembleront et seront saisis d'angoisse à cause de toi.

- This day will I begin to put the dread of thee and the fear of thee upon the nations that are under the whole heaven, who shall hear report of thee, and shall tremble, and be in anguish because of thee. (Ⅱ)

- ἐν τη̨̃ ἡμέρα̨ ταύτη̨ ἐνάρχου δου̃ναι τὸν τρόμον σου καὶ τὸν φόβον σου ἐπὶ πρόσωπον πάντων τω̃ν ἐθνω̃ν τω̃ν ὑποκάτω του̃ οὐρανου̃ οἵτινες ἀκούσαντες τὸ ὄνομά σου ταραχθήσονται καὶ ὠδι̃νας ἕξουσιν ἀπὸ προσώπου σου (Ⅲ)

- Hodie incipiam mittere terrorem atque formidinem tuam in populos, qui habitant sub omni cælo : ut audito nomine tuo paveant, et in morem parturientium contremiscant, et dolore teneantur.\ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 25 ׃2 היום הזה אחל תת פחדך ויראתך על פני העמים תחת כל השמים אשר ישמעון שמעך ורגזו וחלו מפניך ‬ (Ⅴ)

2. 26

J'envoyai, du désert de Kedémoth, des messagers à Sihon, roi de Hesbon, avec des paroles de paix. Je lui fis dire:

- And I sent messengers out of the wilderness of Kedemoth unto Sihon king of Heshbon with words of peace, saying, (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἀπέστειλα πρέσβεις ἐκ τη̃ς ἐρήμου Κεδαμωθ πρὸς Σηων βασιλέα Εσεβων λόγοις εἰρηνικοι̃ς λέγων (Ⅲ)

- Misi ergo nuntios de solitudine Cademoth ad Sehon regem Hesebon verbis pacificis, dicens : (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 26 ׃2 ואשלח מלאכים ממדבר קדמות אל סיחון מלך חשבון דברי שלום לאמר ‬ (Ⅴ)

2. 27

Laisse-moi passer par ton pays; je suivrai la grande route, sans m'écarter ni à droite ni à gauche.

- Let me pass through thy land: I will go along by the high way, I will neither turn unto the right hand nor to the left. (Ⅱ)

- παρελεύσομαι διὰ τη̃ς γη̃ς σου ἐν τη̨̃ ὁδω̨̃ παρελεύσομαι οὐχὶ ἐκκλινω̃ δεξιὰ οὐδὲ ἀριστερά (Ⅲ)

- Transibimus per terram tuam : publica gradiemur via ; non declinabimus neque ad dexteram, neque ad sinistram. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 27 ׃2 אעברה בארצך בדרך בדרך אלך לא אסור ימין ושמאול ‬ (Ⅴ)

2. 28

Tu me vendras à prix d'argent la nourriture que je mangerai, et tu me donneras à prix d'argent l'eau que je boirai; je ne ferai que passer avec mes pieds.

- Thou shalt sell me meat for money, that I may eat; and give me water for money, that I may drink: only I will pass through on my feet; (Ⅱ)

- βρώματα ἀργυρίου ἀποδώση̨ μοι καὶ φάγομαι καὶ ὕδωρ ἀργυρίου ἀποδώση̨ μοι καὶ πίομαι πλὴν ὅτι παρελεύσομαι τοι̃ς ποσίν (Ⅲ)

- Alimenta pretio vende nobis, ut vescamur : aquam pecunia tribue, et sic bibemus. Tantum est ut nobis concedas transitum, (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 28 ׃2 אכל בכסף תשברני ואכלתי ומים בכסף תתן לי ושתיתי רק אעברה ברגלי ‬ (Ⅴ)

2. 29

C'est ce que m'ont accordé les enfants d'Ésaü qui habitent en Séir, et les Moabites qui demeurent à Ar. Accorde-le aussi, jusqu'à ce que je passe le Jourdain pour entrer au pays que l'Éternel, notre Dieu, nous donne.

- (As the children of Esau which dwell in Seir, and the Moabites which dwell in Ar, did unto me;) until I shall pass over Jordan into the land which the LORD our God giveth us. (Ⅱ)

- καθὼς ἐποίησάν μοι οἱ υἱοὶ Ησαυ οἱ κατοικου̃ντες ἐν Σηιρ καὶ οἱ Μωαβι̃ται οἱ κατοικου̃ντες ἐν Αροηρ ἕως παρέλθω τὸν Ιορδάνην εἰς τὴν γη̃ν ἣν κύριος ὁ θεὸς ἡμω̃ν δίδωσιν ἡμι̃ν (Ⅲ)

- sicut fecerunt filii Esau, qui habitant in Seir, et Moabitæ, qui morantur in Ar : donec veniamus ad Jordanem, et transeamus ad terram, quam Dominus Deus noster daturus est nobis. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 29 ׃2 כאשר עשו לי בני עשו הישבים בשעיר והמואבים הישבים בער עד אשר אעבר את הירדן אל הארץ אשר יהוה אלהינו נתן לנו ‬ (Ⅴ)

2. 30

Mais Sihon, roi de Hesbon, ne voulut point nous laisser passer chez lui; car l'Éternel, ton Dieu, rendit son esprit inflexible et endurcit son coeur, afin de le livrer entre tes mains, comme tu le vois aujourd'hui.

- But Sihon king of Heshbon would not let us pass by him: for the LORD thy God hardened his spirit, and made his heart obstinate, that he might deliver him into thy hand, as appeareth this day. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ οὐκ ἠθέλησεν Σηων βασιλεὺς Εσεβων παρελθει̃ν ἡμα̃ς δι' αὐτου̃ ὅτι ἐσκλήρυνεν κύριος ὁ θεὸς ἡμω̃ν τὸ πνευ̃μα αὐτου̃ καὶ κατίσχυσεν τὴν καρδίαν αὐτου̃ ἵνα παραδοθη̨̃ εἰς τὰς χει̃ράς σου ὡς ἐν τη̨̃ ἡμέρα̨ ταύτη̨ (Ⅲ)

- Noluitque Sehon rex Hesebon dare nobis transitum : quia induraverat Dominus Deus tuus spiritum ejus, et obfirmaverat cor illius, ut traderetur in manus tuas, sicut nunc vides. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 30 ׃2 ולא אבה סיחן מלך חשבון העברנו בו כי הקשה יהוה אלהיך את רוחו ואמץ את לבבו למען תתו בידך כיום הזה ס‬ (Ⅴ)

2. 31

L'Éternel me dit: Vois, je te livre dès maintenant Sihon et son pays.

- And the LORD said unto me, Behold, I have begun to give Sihon and his land before thee: begin to possess, that thou mayest inherit his land. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ εἰ̃πεν κύριος πρός με ἰδοὺ ἠ̃ργμαι παραδου̃ναι πρὸ προσώπου σου τὸν Σηων βασιλέα Εσεβων τὸν Αμορραι̃ον καὶ τὴν γη̃ν αὐτου̃ ἔναρξαι κληρονομη̃σαι τὴν γη̃ν αὐτου̃ (Ⅲ)

- Dixitque Dominus ad me : Ecce cœpi tibi tradere Sehon, et terram ejus : incipe possidere eam. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 31 ׃2 ויאמר יהוה אלי ראה החלתי תת לפניך את סיחן ואת ארצו החל רש לרשת את ארצו ‬ (Ⅴ)

2. 32

Sihon sortit à notre rencontre, avec tout son peuple, pour nous combattre à Jahats.

- Then Sihon came out against us, he and all his people, to fight at Jahaz. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐξη̃λθεν Σηων βασιλεὺς Εσεβων εἰς συνάντησιν ἡμι̃ν αὐτὸς καὶ πα̃ς ὁ λαὸς αὐτου̃ εἰς πόλεμον Ιασσα (Ⅲ)

- Egressusque est Sehon obviam nobis cum omni populo suo ad prælium in Jasa. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 32 ׃2 ויצא סיחן לקראתנו הוא וכל עמו למלחמה יהצה ‬ (Ⅴ)

2. 33

L'Éternel, notre Dieu, nous le livra, et nous le battîmes, lui et ses fils, et tout son peuple.

- And the LORD our God delivered him before us; and we smote him, and his sons, and all his people. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ παρέδωκεν αὐτὸν κύριος ὁ θεὸς ἡμω̃ν πρὸ προσώπου ἡμω̃ν καὶ ἐπατάξαμεν αὐτὸν καὶ τοὺς υἱοὺς αὐτου̃ καὶ πάντα τὸν λαὸν αὐτου̃ (Ⅲ)

- Et tradidit eum Dominus Deus noster nobis : percussimusque eum cum filiis suis et omni populo suo. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 33 ׃2 ויתנהו יהוה אלהינו לפנינו ונך אתו ואת *בנו **בניו ואת כל עמו ‬ (Ⅴ)

2. 34

Nous prîmes alors toutes ses villes, et nous les dévouâmes par interdit, hommes, femmes et petits enfants, sans en laisser échapper un seul.

- And we took all his cities at that time, and utterly destroyed the men, and the women, and the little ones, of every city, we left none to remain: (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐκρατήσαμεν πασω̃ν τω̃ν πόλεων αὐτου̃ ἐν τω̨̃ καιρω̨̃ ἐκείνω̨ καὶ ἐξωλεθρεύσαμεν πα̃σαν πόλιν ἑξη̃ς καὶ τὰς γυναι̃κας αὐτω̃ν καὶ τὰ τέκνα αὐτω̃ν οὐ κατελίπομεν ζωγρείαν (Ⅲ)

- Cunctasque urbes in tempore illo cepimus, interfectis habitatoribus earum, viris ac mulieribus et parvulis : non reliquimus in eis quidquam, (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 34 ׃2 ונלכד את כל עריו בעת ההוא ונחרם את כל עיר מתם והנשים והטף לא השארנו שריד ‬ (Ⅴ)

2. 35

Seulement, nous pillâmes pour nous le bétail et le butin des villes que nous avions prises.

- Only the cattle we took for a prey unto ourselves, and the spoil of the cities which we took. (Ⅱ)

- πλὴν τὰ κτήνη ἐπρονομεύσαμεν καὶ τὰ σκυ̃λα τω̃ν πόλεων ἐλάβομεν (Ⅲ)

- absque jumentis, quæ in partem venere prædantium : et spoliis urbium, quas cepimus (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 35 ׃2 רק הבהמה בזזנו לנו ושלל הערים אשר לכדנו ‬ (Ⅴ)

2. 36

Depuis Aroër sur les bords du torrent de l'Arnon, et la ville qui est dans la vallée, jusqu'à Galaad, il n'y eut pas de ville trop forte pour nous: l'Éternel, notre Dieu, nous livra tout.

- From Aroer, which is by the brink of the river of Arnon, and from the city that is by the river, even unto Gilead, there was not one city too strong for us: the LORD our God delivered all unto us: (Ⅱ)

- ἐξ Αροηρ ἥ ἐστιν παρὰ τὸ χει̃λος χειμάρρου Αρνων καὶ τὴν πόλιν τὴν οὐ̃σαν ἐν τη̨̃ φάραγγι καὶ ἕως ὄρους του̃ Γαλααδ οὐκ ἐγενήθη πόλις ἥτις διέφυγεν ἡμα̃ς τὰς πάσας παρέδωκεν κύριος ὁ θεὸς ἡμω̃ν εἰς τὰς χει̃ρας ἡμω̃ν (Ⅲ)

- ab Aroër, quæ est super ripam torrentis Arnon, oppido quod in valle situm est, usque Galaad. Non fuit vicus et civitas, quæ nostras effugeret manus : omnes tradidit Dominus Deus noster nobis, (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 36 ׃2 מערער אשר על שפת נחל ארנן והעיר אשר בנחל ועד הגלעד לא היתה קריה אשר שגבה ממנו את הכל נתן יהוה אלהינו לפנינו ‬ (Ⅴ)

2. 37

Mais tu n'approchas point du pays des enfants d'Ammon, de tous les bords du torrent de Jabbok, des villes de la montagne, de tous les lieux que l'Éternel, notre Dieu, t'avait défendu d'attaquer.

- Only unto the land of the children of Ammon thou camest not, nor unto any place of the river Jabbok, nor unto the cities in the mountains, nor unto whatsoever the LORD our God forbade us. (Ⅱ)

- πλὴν εἰς γη̃ν υἱω̃ν Αμμων οὐ προσήλθομεν πάντα τὰ συγκυρου̃ντα χειμάρρου Ιαβοκ καὶ τὰς πόλεις τὰς ἐν τη̨̃ ὀρεινη̨̃ καθότι ἐνετείλατο ἡμι̃ν κύριος ὁ θεὸς ἡμω̃ν (Ⅲ)

- absque terra filiorum Ammon, ad quam non accessimus : et cunctis quæ adjacent torrenti Jeboc, et urbibus montanis, universisque locis, a quibus nos prohibuit Dominus Deus noster. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 37 ׃2 רק אל ארץ בני עמון לא קרבת כל יד נחל יבק וערי ההר וכל אשר צוה יהוה אלהינו ‬ (Ⅴ)
