92.

Praise be to Allah, the Cherisher and Sustainer of the worlds;
- Alhamdu lillahi rabbi alAAalameena (Ⅰ) - The Beneficent, the Merciful, (Ⅱ) - In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful. (Ⅲ) - Praise belongs to God, the Lord of all Being, (Ⅳ) - بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ (Ⅴ)

|
92.
1
By the Night as it conceals (the light);
- Waallayli itha yaghsha (Ⅰ) - By the night when it veils! (Ⅱ) - By the night enshrouding (Ⅲ) - By the night enshrouding (Ⅳ) - بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ وَاللَّيْلِ إِذَا يَغْشَىٰ (Ⅴ)

|
92.
2
By the Day as it appears in glory;
- Waalnnahari itha tajalla (Ⅰ) - And the day when it is displayed! (Ⅱ) - And the day resplendent (Ⅲ) - and the day in splendour (Ⅳ) - وَالنَّهَارِ إِذَا تَجَلَّىٰ (Ⅴ)

|
92.

By (the mystery of) the creation of male and female;-
- Wama khalaqa alththakara waalontha (Ⅰ) - And by (the mystery) of male and female! (Ⅱ) - And Him Who hath created male and female, (Ⅲ) - and That which created the male and the female, (Ⅳ) - وَمَا خَلَقَ الذَّكَرَ وَالْأُنثَىٰ (Ⅴ)

92.
4
Verily, (the ends) ye strive for are diverse.
- Inna saAAyakum lashatta (Ⅰ) - Verily, your efforts are diverse! (Ⅱ) - Lo! your effort is dispersed (toward divers ends). (Ⅲ) - surely your striving is to diverse ends. (Ⅳ) - إِنَّ سَعْيَكُمْ لَشَتَّىٰ (Ⅴ)

92.
5
So he who gives (in charity) and fears (Allah),
- Faamma man aAAta waittaqa (Ⅰ) - But as for him who gives alms and fears Allah, (Ⅱ) - As for him who giveth and is dutiful (toward Allah) (Ⅲ) - As for him who gives and is godfearing (Ⅳ) - فَأَمَّا مَنْ أَعْطَىٰ وَاتَّقَىٰ (Ⅴ)

|
92.
6
And (in all sincerity) testifies to the best,-
- Wasaddaqa bialhusna (Ⅰ) - And believes in goodness, (Ⅱ) - And believeth in goodness; (Ⅲ) - and confirms the reward most fair, (Ⅳ) - وَصَدَّقَ بِالْحُسْنَىٰ (Ⅴ)

92.

We will indeed make smooth for him the path to Bliss.
- Fasanuyassiruhu lilyusra (Ⅰ) - We will ease his way to ease! (Ⅱ) - Surely We will ease his way unto the state of ease. (Ⅲ) - We shall surely ease him to the Easing. (Ⅳ) - فَسَنُيَسِّرُهُ لِلْيُسْرَىٰ (Ⅴ)

92.
8
But he who is a greedy miser and thinks himself self-sufficient,
- Waamma man bakhila waistaghna (Ⅰ) - But as for him who is niggardly and thinks himself independent (or self-sufficient), (Ⅱ) - But as for him who hoardeth and deemeth himself independent, (Ⅲ) - But as for him who is a miser, and self-sufficient, (Ⅳ) - وَأَمَّا مَن بَخِلَ وَاسْتَغْنَىٰ (Ⅴ)

92.
9
And gives the lie to the best,-
- Wakaththaba bialhusna (Ⅰ) - And calls the good a lie, (Ⅱ) - And disbelieveth in goodness; (Ⅲ) - and cries lies to the reward most fair, (Ⅳ) - وَكَذَّبَ بِالْحُسْنَىٰ (Ⅴ)

92.
10
We will indeed make smooth for him the path to Misery;
- Fasanuyassiruhu lilAAusra (Ⅰ) - We will ease his way to misery (adversity)! (Ⅱ) - Surely We will ease his way unto adversity. (Ⅲ) - We shall surely ease him to the Hardship; (Ⅳ) - فَسَنُيَسِّرُهُ لِلْعُسْرَىٰ (Ⅴ)

92.
11
Nor will his wealth profit him when he falls headlong (into the Pit).
- Wama yughnee AAanhu maluhu itha taradda (Ⅰ) - And his wealth shall not avail him when he falls down (into hell)! (Ⅱ) - His riches will not save him when he perisheth. (Ⅲ) - his wealth shall not avail him when he perishes. (Ⅳ) - وَمَا يُغْنِي عَنْهُ مَالُهُ إِذَا تَرَدَّىٰ (Ⅴ)

92.
12
Verily We take upon Ourselves to guide,
- Inna AAalayna lalhuda (Ⅰ) - Verily, it is for Us to guide; (Ⅱ) - Lo! Ours it is (to give) the guidance (Ⅲ) - Surely upon Us rests the guidance, (Ⅳ) - إِنَّ عَلَيْنَا لَلْهُدَىٰ (Ⅴ)

|
|
92.
13
And verily unto Us (belong) the End and the Beginning.
- Wainna lana lalakhirata waaloola (Ⅰ) - And, verily, Ours are the Latter and the Former life! (Ⅱ) - And lo! unto Us belong the latter portion and the former. (Ⅲ) - and to Us belong the Last and the First. (Ⅳ) - وَإِنَّ لَنَا لَلْآخِرَةَ وَالْأُولَىٰ (Ⅴ)

92.
14
Therefore do I warn you of a Fire blazing fiercely;
- Faanthartukum naran talaththa (Ⅰ) - Therefore, I have warned you of a Fire that flames fiercely! (Ⅱ) - Therefor have I warned you of the flaming Fire (Ⅲ) - Now I have warned you of a Fire that flames, (Ⅳ) - فَأَنذَرْتُكُمْ نَارًا تَلَظَّىٰ (Ⅴ)

92.
15
None shall reach it but those most unfortunate ones
- La yaslaha illa alashqa (Ⅰ) - None shall broil thereon, but the most wretched, (Ⅱ) - Which only the most wretched must endure, (Ⅲ) - whereat none but the most wretched shall be roasted, (Ⅳ) - لَا يَصْلَاهَا إِلَّا الْأَشْقَى (Ⅴ)

92.
16
Who give the lie to Truth and turn their backs.
- Allathee kaththaba watawalla (Ⅰ) - Who says it is a lie and turns his back. (Ⅱ) - He who denieth and turneth away. (Ⅲ) - even he who cried lies, and turned away; (Ⅳ) - الَّذِي كَذَّبَ وَتَوَلَّىٰ (Ⅴ)

92.
17
But those most devoted to Allah shall be removed far from it,-
- Wasayujannabuha alatqa (Ⅰ) - But the pious shall be kept away from it, (Ⅱ) - Far removed from it will be the righteous (Ⅲ) - and from which the most godfearing shall be removed, (Ⅳ) - وَسَيُجَنَّبُهَا الْأَتْقَى (Ⅴ)

92.
18
Those who spend their wealth for increase in self-purification,
- Allathee yutee malahu yatazakka (Ⅰ) - He who gives his wealth that he may grow. (Ⅱ) - Who giveth his wealth that he may grow (in goodness). (Ⅲ) - even he who gives his wealth. to purify himself (Ⅳ) - الَّذِي يُؤْتِي مَالَهُ يَتَزَكَّىٰ (Ⅴ)

92.
19
And have in their minds no favour from anyone for which a reward is expected in return,
- Wama liahadin AAindahu min niAAmatin tujza (Ⅰ) - And who gives no favour expecting a return, (Ⅱ) - And none hath with him any favour for reward, (Ⅲ) - and confers no favour on any man for recompense, (Ⅳ) - وَمَا لِأَحَدٍ عِندَهُ مِن نِّعْمَةٍ تُجْزَىٰ (Ⅴ)

|
92.
20
But only the desire to seek for the Countenance of their Lord Most High;
- Illa ibtighaa wajhi rabbihi alaAAla (Ⅰ) - But only desiring the face of his Lord Most High. (Ⅱ) - Except as seeking (to fulfil) the purpose of his Lord Most High. (Ⅲ) - only seeking the Face of his Lord the Most High; (Ⅳ) - إِلَّا ابْتِغَاءَ وَجْهِ رَبِّهِ الْأَعْلَىٰ (Ⅴ)

92.
21
And soon will they attain (complete) satisfaction.
- Walasawfa yarda (Ⅰ) - In the end he shall be well fulfilled! (Ⅱ) - He verily will be content. (Ⅲ) - and he shall surely be satisfied. (Ⅳ) - وَلَسَوْفَ يَرْضَىٰ (Ⅴ)
