92. 0  
Praise belongs to God, the Lord of all Being,
- Alhamdu lillahi rabbi alAAalameena (Ⅰ)
- The Beneficent, the Merciful, (Ⅱ)
- In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful. (Ⅲ)
- بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ (Ⅳ)
- Praise be to Allah, the Cherisher and Sustainer of the worlds; (Ⅵ)
92. 1  
By the night enshrouding
- Waallayli itha yaghsha (Ⅰ)
- By the night when it veils! (Ⅱ)
- By the night enshrouding (Ⅲ)
- بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ وَاللَّيْلِ إِذَا يَغْشَىٰ (Ⅳ)
- By the Night as it conceals (the light); (Ⅵ)
92. 2  
and the day in splendour
- Waalnnahari itha tajalla (Ⅰ)
- And the day when it is displayed! (Ⅱ)
- And the day resplendent (Ⅲ)
- وَالنَّهَارِ إِذَا تَجَلَّىٰ (Ⅳ)
- By the Day as it appears in glory; (Ⅵ)
92. 3  
and That which created the male and the female,
- Wama khalaqa alththakara waalontha (Ⅰ)
- And by (the mystery) of male and female! (Ⅱ)
- And Him Who hath created male and female, (Ⅲ)
- وَمَا خَلَقَ الذَّكَرَ وَالْأُنثَىٰ (Ⅳ)
- By (the mystery of) the creation of male and female;- (Ⅵ)
92. 4  
surely your striving is to diverse ends.
- Inna saAAyakum lashatta (Ⅰ)
- Verily, your efforts are diverse! (Ⅱ)
- Lo! your effort is dispersed (toward divers ends). (Ⅲ)
- إِنَّ سَعْيَكُمْ لَشَتَّىٰ (Ⅳ)
- Verily, (the ends) ye strive for are diverse. (Ⅵ)
92. 5  
As for him who gives and is godfearing
- Faamma man aAAta waittaqa (Ⅰ)
- But as for him who gives alms and fears Allah, (Ⅱ)
- As for him who giveth and is dutiful (toward Allah) (Ⅲ)
- فَأَمَّا مَنْ أَعْطَىٰ وَاتَّقَىٰ (Ⅳ)
- So he who gives (in charity) and fears (Allah), (Ⅵ)
92. 6  
and confirms the reward most fair,
- Wasaddaqa bialhusna (Ⅰ)
- And believes in goodness, (Ⅱ)
- And believeth in goodness; (Ⅲ)
- وَصَدَّقَ بِالْحُسْنَىٰ (Ⅳ)
- And (in all sincerity) testifies to the best,- (Ⅵ)
92. 7  
We shall surely ease him to the Easing.
- Fasanuyassiruhu lilyusra (Ⅰ)
- We will ease his way to ease! (Ⅱ)
- Surely We will ease his way unto the state of ease. (Ⅲ)
- فَسَنُيَسِّرُهُ لِلْيُسْرَىٰ (Ⅳ)
- We will indeed make smooth for him the path to Bliss. (Ⅵ)
92. 8  
But as for him who is a miser, and self-sufficient,
- Waamma man bakhila waistaghna (Ⅰ)
- But as for him who is niggardly and thinks himself independent (or self-sufficient), (Ⅱ)
- But as for him who hoardeth and deemeth himself independent, (Ⅲ)
- وَأَمَّا مَن بَخِلَ وَاسْتَغْنَىٰ (Ⅳ)
- But he who is a greedy miser and thinks himself self-sufficient, (Ⅵ)
92. 9  
and cries lies to the reward most fair,
- Wakaththaba bialhusna (Ⅰ)
- And calls the good a lie, (Ⅱ)
- And disbelieveth in goodness; (Ⅲ)
- وَكَذَّبَ بِالْحُسْنَىٰ (Ⅳ)
- And gives the lie to the best,- (Ⅵ)
92. 10  
We shall surely ease him to the Hardship;
- Fasanuyassiruhu lilAAusra (Ⅰ)
- We will ease his way to misery (adversity)! (Ⅱ)
- Surely We will ease his way unto adversity. (Ⅲ)
- فَسَنُيَسِّرُهُ لِلْعُسْرَىٰ (Ⅳ)
- We will indeed make smooth for him the path to Misery; (Ⅵ)
92. 11  
his wealth shall not avail him when he perishes.
- Wama yughnee AAanhu maluhu itha taradda (Ⅰ)
- And his wealth shall not avail him when he falls down (into hell)! (Ⅱ)
- His riches will not save him when he perisheth. (Ⅲ)
- وَمَا يُغْنِي عَنْهُ مَالُهُ إِذَا تَرَدَّىٰ (Ⅳ)
- Nor will his wealth profit him when he falls headlong (into the Pit). (Ⅵ)
92. 12  
Surely upon Us rests the guidance,
- Inna AAalayna lalhuda (Ⅰ)
- Verily, it is for Us to guide; (Ⅱ)
- Lo! Ours it is (to give) the guidance (Ⅲ)
- إِنَّ عَلَيْنَا لَلْهُدَىٰ (Ⅳ)
- Verily We take upon Ourselves to guide, (Ⅵ)
92. 13  
and to Us belong the Last and the First.
- Wainna lana lalakhirata waaloola (Ⅰ)
- And, verily, Ours are the Latter and the Former life! (Ⅱ)
- And lo! unto Us belong the latter portion and the former. (Ⅲ)
- وَإِنَّ لَنَا لَلْآخِرَةَ وَالْأُولَىٰ (Ⅳ)
- And verily unto Us (belong) the End and the Beginning. (Ⅵ)
92. 14  
Now I have warned you of a Fire that flames,
- Faanthartukum naran talaththa (Ⅰ)
- Therefore, I have warned you of a Fire that flames fiercely! (Ⅱ)
- Therefor have I warned you of the flaming Fire (Ⅲ)
- فَأَنذَرْتُكُمْ نَارًا تَلَظَّىٰ (Ⅳ)
- Therefore do I warn you of a Fire blazing fiercely; (Ⅵ)
92. 15  
whereat none but the most wretched shall be roasted,
- La yaslaha illa alashqa (Ⅰ)
- None shall broil thereon, but the most wretched, (Ⅱ)
- Which only the most wretched must endure, (Ⅲ)
- لَا يَصْلَاهَا إِلَّا الْأَشْقَى (Ⅳ)
- None shall reach it but those most unfortunate ones (Ⅵ)
92. 16  
even he who cried lies, and turned away;
- Allathee kaththaba watawalla (Ⅰ)
- Who says it is a lie and turns his back. (Ⅱ)
- He who denieth and turneth away. (Ⅲ)
- الَّذِي كَذَّبَ وَتَوَلَّىٰ (Ⅳ)
- Who give the lie to Truth and turn their backs. (Ⅵ)
92. 17  
and from which the most godfearing shall be removed,
- Wasayujannabuha alatqa (Ⅰ)
- But the pious shall be kept away from it, (Ⅱ)
- Far removed from it will be the righteous (Ⅲ)
- وَسَيُجَنَّبُهَا الْأَتْقَى (Ⅳ)
- But those most devoted to Allah shall be removed far from it,- (Ⅵ)
92. 18  
even he who gives his wealth. to purify himself
- Allathee yutee malahu yatazakka (Ⅰ)
- He who gives his wealth that he may grow. (Ⅱ)
- Who giveth his wealth that he may grow (in goodness). (Ⅲ)
- الَّذِي يُؤْتِي مَالَهُ يَتَزَكَّىٰ (Ⅳ)
- Those who spend their wealth for increase in self-purification, (Ⅵ)
92. 19  
and confers no favour on any man for recompense,
- Wama liahadin AAindahu min niAAmatin tujza (Ⅰ)
- And who gives no favour expecting a return, (Ⅱ)
- And none hath with him any favour for reward, (Ⅲ)
- وَمَا لِأَحَدٍ عِندَهُ مِن نِّعْمَةٍ تُجْزَىٰ (Ⅳ)
- And have in their minds no favour from anyone for which a reward is expected in return, (Ⅵ)
92. 20  
only seeking the Face of his Lord the Most High;
- Illa ibtighaa wajhi rabbihi alaAAla (Ⅰ)
- But only desiring the face of his Lord Most High. (Ⅱ)
- Except as seeking (to fulfil) the purpose of his Lord Most High. (Ⅲ)
- إِلَّا ابْتِغَاءَ وَجْهِ رَبِّهِ الْأَعْلَىٰ (Ⅳ)
- But only the desire to seek for the Countenance of their Lord Most High; (Ⅵ)
92. 21  
and he shall surely be satisfied.
- Walasawfa yarda (Ⅰ)
- In the end he shall be well fulfilled! (Ⅱ)
- He verily will be content. (Ⅲ)
- وَلَسَوْفَ يَرْضَىٰ (Ⅳ)
- And soon will they attain (complete) satisfaction. (Ⅵ)
