23. 50  
and We made Mary´s son, and his mother, to be a sign, and gave them refuge upon a height, where was a hollow and a spring:
- WajaAAalna ibna maryama waommahu ayatan waawaynahuma ila rabwatin thati qararin wamaAAeenin (Ⅰ)
- And We made the son of Mary and his mother a sign; and We gave them both shelter on high, a place of security and springs. (Ⅱ)
- And We made the son of Mary and his mother a portent, and We gave them refuge on a height, a place of flocks and watersprings. (Ⅲ)
- وَجَعَلْنَا ابْنَ مَرْيَمَ وَأُمَّهُ آيَةً وَآوَيْنَاهُمَا إِلَىٰ رَبْوَةٍ ذَاتِ قَرَارٍ وَمَعِينٍ (Ⅳ)
- And We made the son of Mary and his mother as a Sign: We gave them both shelter on high ground, affording rest and security and furnished with springs. (Ⅵ)
23. 51  
´O Messengers, eat of the good things and do righteousness; surely I know the things you do.
- Ya ayyuha alrrusulu kuloo mina alttayyibati waiAAmaloo salihan innee bima taAAmaloona AAaleemun (Ⅰ)
- O you messengers! Eat of the good things and do right; verily, I am aware of what you do. (Ⅱ)
- O ye messengers! Eat of the good things, and do right. Lo! I am Aware of what ye do. (Ⅲ)
- يَا أَيُّهَا الرُّسُلُ كُلُوا مِنَ الطَّيِّبَاتِ وَاعْمَلُوا صَالِحًا ۖ إِنِّي بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ عَلِيمٌ (Ⅳ)
- O ye messengers! enjoy (all) things good and pure, and work righteousness: for I am well-acquainted with (all) that ye do. (Ⅵ)
23. 52  
Surely this community of yours is one community, and I am your Lord; so fear Me.´
- Wainna hathihi ommatukum ommatan wahidatan waana rabbukum faittaqooni (Ⅰ)
- And, verily, this your religion (or brotherhood) is one religion (or brotherhood), and I am your Lord; so keep your duty unto Me. (Ⅱ)
- And lo! this your religion is one religion and I am your Lord, so keep your duty unto Me. (Ⅲ)
- وَإِنَّ هَٰذِهِ أُمَّتُكُمْ أُمَّةً وَاحِدَةً وَأَنَا رَبُّكُمْ فَاتَّقُونِ (Ⅳ)
- And verily this Brotherhood of yours is a single Brotherhood, and I am your Lord and Cherisher: therefore fear Me (and no other). (Ⅵ)
23. 53  
But they split in their affair between them into sects, each party rejoicing in what is with them.
- FataqattaAAoo amrahum baynahum zuburan kullu hizbin bima ladayhim farihoona (Ⅰ)
- But they (mankind) have broken their religion (or affair) between them into sects, each sect rejoicing in its own tenets. (Ⅱ)
- But they (mankind) have broken their religion among them into sects, each group rejoicing in its tenets. (Ⅲ)
- فَتَقَطَّعُوا أَمْرَهُم بَيْنَهُمْ زُبُرًا ۖ كُلُّ حِزْبٍ بِمَا لَدَيْهِمْ فَرِحُونَ (Ⅳ)
- But people have cut off their affair (of unity), between them, into sects: each party rejoices in that which is with itself. (Ⅵ)
23. 54  
So leave thou them in their perplexity for a time.
- Fatharhum fee ghamratihim hatta heenin (Ⅰ)
- So leave them in their confused error (or ignorance) for a time. (Ⅱ)
- So leave them in their error till a time. (Ⅲ)
- فَذَرْهُمْ فِي غَمْرَتِهِمْ حَتَّىٰ حِينٍ (Ⅳ)
- But leave them in their confused ignorance for a time. (Ⅵ)
23. 55  
What, do they think that We succour them with of wealth and children,
- Ayahsaboona annama numidduhum bihi min malin wabaneena (Ⅰ)
- Think they that in the wealth and children, wherewith We provide them (Ⅱ)
- Think they that in the wealth and sons wherewith We provide them (Ⅲ)
- أَيَحْسَبُونَ أَنَّمَا نُمِدُّهُم بِهِ مِن مَّالٍ وَبَنِينَ (Ⅳ)
- Do they think that because We have granted them abundance of wealth and sons, (Ⅵ)
23. 56  
We vie in good works for them? Nay, but they are not aware.
- NusariAAu lahum fee alkhayrati bal la yashAAuroona (Ⅰ)
- We hasten unto them with good things? Nay, but they perceive not. (Ⅱ)
- We hasten unto them with good things ? Nay, but they perceive not. (Ⅲ)
- نُسَارِعُ لَهُمْ فِي الْخَيْرَاتِ ۚ بَل لَّا يَشْعُرُونَ (Ⅳ)
- We would hasten them on in every good? Nay, they do not understand. (Ⅵ)
23. 57  
Surely those who tremble in fear of their Lord
- Inna allatheena hum min khashyati rabbihim mushfiqoona (Ⅰ)
- Verily, those who walk in awe of their Lord, (Ⅱ)
- Lo! those who go in awe for fear of their Lord. (Ⅲ)
- إِنَّ الَّذِينَ هُم مِّنْ خَشْيَةِ رَبِّهِم مُّشْفِقُونَ (Ⅳ)
- Verily those who live in awe for fear of their Lord; (Ⅵ)
23. 58  
and those who believe in the signs of their Lord
- Waallatheena hum biayati rabbihim yuminoona (Ⅰ)
- And those who believe in the revelations of their Lord, (Ⅱ)
- And those who believe in the revelations of their Lord, (Ⅲ)
- وَالَّذِينَ هُم بِآيَاتِ رَبِّهِمْ يُؤْمِنُونَ (Ⅳ)
- Those who believe in the Signs of their Lord; (Ⅵ)
23. 59  
and those who associate naught with their Lord
- Waallatheena hum birabbihim la yushrikoona (Ⅰ)
- And those who ascribe not partners unto their Lord (Ⅱ)
- And those who ascribe not partners unto their Lord, (Ⅲ)
- وَالَّذِينَ هُم بِرَبِّهِمْ لَا يُشْرِكُونَ (Ⅳ)
- Those who join not (in worship) partners with their Lord; (Ⅵ)
23. 60  
and those who give what they give, their hearts quaking that they are returning to their Lord --
- Waallatheena yutoona ma ataw waquloobuhum wajilatun annahum ila rabbihim rajiAAoona (Ⅰ)
- And those who give what they give with heart afraid because they are about to return unto their Lord, (Ⅱ)
- And those who give that which they give with hearts afraid because they are about to return unto their Lord, (Ⅲ)
- وَالَّذِينَ يُؤْتُونَ مَا آتَوا وَّقُلُوبُهُمْ وَجِلَةٌ أَنَّهُمْ إِلَىٰ رَبِّهِمْ رَاجِعُونَ (Ⅳ)
- And those who dispense their charity with their hearts full of fear, because they will return to their Lord;- (Ⅵ)
23. 61  
those vie in good works, outracing to them.
- Olaika yusariAAoona fee alkhayrati wahum laha sabiqoona (Ⅰ)
- These race to good things, and they shall be the first in the race. (Ⅱ)
- These race for the good things, and they shall win them in the race. (Ⅲ)
- أُولَٰئِكَ يُسَارِعُونَ فِي الْخَيْرَاتِ وَهُمْ لَهَا سَابِقُونَ (Ⅳ)
- It is these who hasten in every good work, and these who are foremost in them. (Ⅵ)
23. 62  
We charge not any soul save to its capacity, and with Us is a Book speaking truth, and they shall not be wronged.
- Wala nukallifu nafsan illa wusAAaha waladayna kitabun yantiqu bialhaqqi wahum la yuthlamoona (Ⅰ)
- But We will not oblige a soul beyond its capacity; for with us is a Record that utters the truth, and they shall not be wronged. (Ⅱ)
- And we task not any soul beyond its scope, and with Us is a Record which speaketh the truth, and they will not be wronged. (Ⅲ)
- وَلَا نُكَلِّفُ نَفْسًا إِلَّا وُسْعَهَا ۖ وَلَدَيْنَا كِتَابٌ يَنطِقُ بِالْحَقِّ ۚ وَهُمْ لَا يُظْلَمُونَ (Ⅳ)
- On no soul do We place a burden greater than it can bear: before Us is a record which clearly shows the truth: they will never be wronged. (Ⅵ)
23. 63  
Nay, but their hearts are in perplexity as to this, and they have deeds besides that that they are doing.
- Bal quloobuhum fee ghamratin min hatha walahum aAAmalun min dooni thalika hum laha AAamiloona (Ⅰ)
- Nay, their heart are in ignorance of this, and they do deeds beside this which they continue to do, (Ⅱ)
- Nay, but their hearts are in ignorance of this (Qur'an), and they have other works, besides, which they are doing; (Ⅲ)
- بَلْ قُلُوبُهُمْ فِي غَمْرَةٍ مِّنْ هَٰذَا وَلَهُمْ أَعْمَالٌ مِّن دُونِ ذَٰلِكَ هُمْ لَهَا عَامِلُونَ (Ⅳ)
- But their hearts are in confused ignorance of this; and there are, besides that, deeds of theirs, which they will (continue) to do,- (Ⅵ)
23. 64  
Till, when We seize with the chastisement the ones of them that live at ease, behold, they groan.
- Hatta itha akhathna mutrafeehim bialAAathabi itha hum yajaroona (Ⅰ)
- Until, when We catch the affluent ones amongst them with the punishment, then lo! They cry in supplication. (Ⅱ)
- Till when We grasp their luxurious ones with the punishment, behold! they supplicate. (Ⅲ)
- حَتَّىٰ إِذَا أَخَذْنَا مُتْرَفِيهِم بِالْعَذَابِ إِذَا هُمْ يَجْأَرُونَ (Ⅳ)
- Until, when We seize in Punishment those of them who received the good things of this world, behold, they will groan in supplication! (Ⅵ)
23. 65  
´Groan not today; surely you shall not be helped from Us.
- La tajaroo alyawma innakum minna la tunsaroona (Ⅰ)
- Supplicate not this day! Assuredly, you will not be helped by (or against) Us. (Ⅱ)
- Supplicate not this day! Assuredly ye will not be helped by Us. (Ⅲ)
- لَا تَجْأَرُوا الْيَوْمَ ۖ إِنَّكُم مِّنَّا لَا تُنصَرُونَ (Ⅳ)
- (It will be said): "Groan not in supplication this day: for ye shall certainly not be helped by Us. (Ⅵ)
23. 66  
My signs were recited to you, but upon your heels you withdrew,
- Qad kanat ayatee tutla AAalaykum fakuntum AAala aAAqabikum tankisoona (Ⅰ)
- My revelations were recited to you, but you turned back upon your heels, (Ⅱ)
- My revelations were recited unto you, but ye used to turn back on your heels, (Ⅲ)
- قَدْ كَانَتْ آيَاتِي تُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْكُمْ فَكُنتُمْ عَلَىٰ أَعْقَابِكُمْ تَنكِصُونَ (Ⅳ)
- "My Signs used to be rehearsed to you, but ye used to turn back on your heels- (Ⅵ)
23. 67  
waxing proud against it, talking foolish talk by night.´
- Mustakbireena bihi samiran tahjuroona (Ⅰ)
- In arrogant scorn thereof, raving vain nonsensical tales by night. (Ⅱ)
- In scorn thereof. Nightly did ye rave together. (Ⅲ)
- مُسْتَكْبِرِينَ بِهِ سَامِرًا تَهْجُرُونَ (Ⅳ)
- "In arrogance: talking nonsense about the (Qur´an), like one telling fables by night." (Ⅵ)
23. 68  
Have they not pondered the saying, or came there upon them that which came not upon their fathers, the ancients?
- Afalam yaddabbaroo alqawla am jaahum ma lam yati abaahumu alawwaleena (Ⅰ)
- Have they not pondered over the words, or has something new come unto them which came not to their forefathers? (Ⅱ)
- Have they not pondered the Word, or hath that come unto them which came not unto their fathers of old ? (Ⅲ)
- أَفَلَمْ يَدَّبَّرُوا الْقَوْلَ أَمْ جَاءَهُم مَّا لَمْ يَأْتِ آبَاءَهُمُ الْأَوَّلِينَ (Ⅳ)
- Do they not ponder over the Word (of Allah), or has anything (new) come to them that did not come to their fathers of old? (Ⅵ)
23. 69  
Or did they not recognise their Messenger and so denied him?
- Am lam yaAArifoo rasoolahum fahum lahu munkiroona (Ⅰ)
- Or know they not their messenger that they thus deny him? (Ⅱ)
- Or know they not their messenger, and so reject him ? (Ⅲ)
- أَمْ لَمْ يَعْرِفُوا رَسُولَهُمْ فَهُمْ لَهُ مُنكِرُونَ (Ⅳ)
- Or do they not recognise their Messenger, that they deny him? (Ⅵ)
23. 70  
Or do they say, ´He is bedevilled´? Nay, he has brought them the truth, but most of them are averse from the truth.
- Am yaqooloona bihi jinnatun bal jaahum bialhaqqi waaktharuhum lilhaqqi karihoona (Ⅰ)
- Or do they say, "He is possessed"? Nay, but he came to them with the Truth, and most of them are haters of Truth. (Ⅱ)
- Or say they: There is a madness in him ? Nay, but he bringeth them the Truth; and most of them are haters of the Truth. (Ⅲ)
- أَمْ يَقُولُونَ بِهِ جِنَّةٌ ۚ بَلْ جَاءَهُم بِالْحَقِّ وَأَكْثَرُهُمْ لِلْحَقِّ كَارِهُونَ (Ⅳ)
- Or do they say, "He is possessed"? Nay, he has brought them the Truth, but most of them hate the Truth. (Ⅵ)
23. 71  
Had the truth followed their caprices, the heavens and the earth and whosoever in them is had surely corrupted. Nay, We brought them their Remembrance, but from their Remembrance they turned.
- Walawi ittabaAAa alhaqqu ahwaahum lafasadati alssamawatu waalardu waman feehinna bal ataynahum bithikrihim fahum AAan thikrihim muAAridoona (Ⅰ)
- But if the truth were to conform to their desires, verily, the heavens and the earth and whoever is therein would be corrupted. Nay, We brought them their Reminder (The Quran), but from their Reminder they now turn away. (Ⅱ)
- And if the Truth had followed their desires, verily the heavens and the earth and whosoever is therein had been corrupted. Nay, We have brought them their Reminder, but from their Reminder they now turn away. (Ⅲ)
- وَلَوِ اتَّبَعَ الْحَقُّ أَهْوَاءَهُمْ لَفَسَدَتِ السَّمَاوَاتُ وَالْأَرْضُ وَمَن فِيهِنَّ ۚ بَلْ أَتَيْنَاهُم بِذِكْرِهِمْ فَهُمْ عَن ذِكْرِهِم مُّعْرِضُونَ (Ⅳ)
- If the Truth had been in accord with their desires, truly the heavens and the earth, and all beings therein would have been in confusion and corruption! Nay, We have sent them their admonition, but they turn away from their admonition. (Ⅵ)
23. 72  
Or dost thou ask them for tribute? Yet the tribute of thy Lord is better, and He is the best of providers.
- Am tasaluhum kharjan fakharaju rabbika khayrun wahuwa khayru alrraziqeena (Ⅰ)
- Or do you ask them for a tribute? But the bounty of your Lord is better, for He is the best of those who provide. (Ⅱ)
- Or dost thou ask of them (O Muhammad) any tribute ? But the bounty of thy Lord is better, for He is Best of all who make provision. (Ⅲ)
- أَمْ تَسْأَلُهُمْ خَرْجًا فَخَرَاجُ رَبِّكَ خَيْرٌ ۖ وَهُوَ خَيْرُ الرَّازِقِينَ (Ⅳ)
- Or is it that thou askest them for some recompense? But the recompense of thy Lord is best: He is the Best of those who give sustenance. (Ⅵ)
23. 73  
Assuredly thou art calling them to a straight path;
- Wainnaka latadAAoohum ila siratin mustaqeemin (Ⅰ)
- And, verily, you do call them to the Straight Way; (Ⅱ)
- And lo! thou summonest them indeed unto a straight path. (Ⅲ)
- وَإِنَّكَ لَتَدْعُوهُمْ إِلَىٰ صِرَاطٍ مُّسْتَقِيمٍ (Ⅳ)
- But verily thou callest them to the Straight Way; (Ⅵ)
23. 74  
and surely they that believe not in the world to come are deviating from the path.
- Wainna allatheena la yuminoona bialakhirati AAani alssirati lanakiboona (Ⅰ)
- But, verily, those who believe not in the Hereafter, they are indeed astray from that Way. (Ⅱ)
- And lo! those who believe not in the Hereafter are indeed astray from the path. (Ⅲ)
- وَإِنَّ الَّذِينَ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِالْآخِرَةِ عَنِ الصِّرَاطِ لَنَاكِبُونَ (Ⅳ)
- And verily those who believe not in the Hereafter are deviating from that Way. (Ⅵ)
23. 75  
Did We have mercy on them, and remove the affliction that is upon them, they would persist in their insolence wandering blindly.
- Walaw rahimnahum wakashafna ma bihim min durrin lalajjoo fee tughyanihim yaAAmahoona (Ⅰ)
- But if We had mercy on them, and relieved their distress, they still would persist in their rebellion, blindly wandering on. (Ⅱ)
- Though We had mercy on them and relieved them of the harm afflicting them, they still would wander blindly on in their contumacy. (Ⅲ)
- ۞ وَلَوْ رَحِمْنَاهُمْ وَكَشَفْنَا مَا بِهِم مِّن ضُرٍّ لَّلَجُّوا فِي طُغْيَانِهِمْ يَعْمَهُونَ (Ⅳ)
- If We had mercy on them and removed the distress which is on them, they would obstinately persist in their transgression, wandering in distraction to and fro. (Ⅵ)
23. 76  
We already seized them with the chastisement, yet they abased not themselves to their Lord nor were they humble;
- Walaqad akhathnahum bialAAathabi fama istakanoo lirabbihim wama yatadarraAAoona (Ⅰ)
- And We caught them with the punishment, but they humble not themselves before their Lord, nor do they pray, (Ⅱ)
- Already have We grasped them with punishment, but they humble not themselves unto their Lord, nor do they pray, (Ⅲ)
- وَلَقَدْ أَخَذْنَاهُم بِالْعَذَابِ فَمَا اسْتَكَانُوا لِرَبِّهِمْ وَمَا يَتَضَرَّعُونَ (Ⅳ)
- We inflicted Punishment on them, but they humbled not themselves to their Lord, nor do they submissively entreat (Him)!- (Ⅵ)
23. 77  
until, when We open against them a door of terrible chastisement, lo, they are sore confounded at it.
- Hatta itha fatahna AAalayhim baban tha AAathabin shadeedin itha hum feehi mublisoona (Ⅰ)
- Until, when We open for them the gate of extreme torment, then lo! They are plunged into despair. (Ⅱ)
- Until, when We open for them the gate of extreme punishment, behold! they are aghast thereat. (Ⅲ)
- حَتَّىٰ إِذَا فَتَحْنَا عَلَيْهِم بَابًا ذَا عَذَابٍ شَدِيدٍ إِذَا هُمْ فِيهِ مُبْلِسُونَ (Ⅳ)
- Until We open on them a gate leading to a severe Punishment: then Lo! they will be plunged in despair therein! (Ⅵ)
23. 78  
It is He who produced for you hearing, and eyes, and hearts; little thanks you show.
- Wahuwa allathee anshaa lakumu alssamAAa waalabsara waalafidata qaleelan ma tashkuroona (Ⅰ)
- He it is who produced for you hearing and sight, and heart (or feelings, understanding, mind). Little thanks give you. (Ⅱ)
- He it is Who hath created for you ears and eyes and hearts. Small thanks give ye! (Ⅲ)
- وَهُوَ الَّذِي أَنشَأَ لَكُمُ السَّمْعَ وَالْأَبْصَارَ وَالْأَفْئِدَةَ ۚ قَلِيلًا مَّا تَشْكُرُونَ (Ⅳ)
- It is He Who has created for you (the faculties of) hearing, sight, feeling and understanding: little thanks it is ye give! (Ⅵ)
23. 79  
It is He who scattered you in the earth, and to Him you shall be mustered.
- Wahuwa allathee tharaakum fee alardi wailayhi tuhsharoona (Ⅰ)
- And He it is Who has sown you broadcast in the earth, and unto Him shall you be gathered. (Ⅱ)
- And He it is Who hath sown you broadcast in the earth, and unto Him ye will be gathered. (Ⅲ)
- وَهُوَ الَّذِي ذَرَأَكُمْ فِي الْأَرْضِ وَإِلَيْهِ تُحْشَرُونَ (Ⅳ)
- And He has multiplied you through the earth, and to Him shall ye be gathered back. (Ⅵ)
23. 80  
It is He who gives life, and makes to die, and to Him belongs the alternation of night and day; what, will you not understand?
- Wahuwa allathee yuhyee wayumeetu walahu ikhtilafu allayli waalnnahari afala taAAqiloona (Ⅰ)
- And He it is Who gives you life and death; and His is the alternation of the night and the day; have you then no sense? (Ⅱ)
- And He it is Who giveth life and causeth death, and His is the difference of night and day. Have ye then no sense ? (Ⅲ)
- وَهُوَ الَّذِي يُحْيِي وَيُمِيتُ وَلَهُ اخْتِلَافُ اللَّيْلِ وَالنَّهَارِ ۚ أَفَلَا تَعْقِلُونَ (Ⅳ)
- It is He Who gives life and death, and to Him (is due) the alternation of Night and Day: will ye not then understand? (Ⅵ)
23. 81  
Nay, but they said the like of what the ancients said.
- Bal qaloo mithla ma qala alawwaloona (Ⅰ)
- Nay, but they say the like of that which those of yore did say. (Ⅱ)
- Nay, but they say the like of that which said the men of old; (Ⅲ)
- بَلْ قَالُوا مِثْلَ مَا قَالَ الْأَوَّلُونَ (Ⅳ)
- On the contrary they say things similar to what the ancients said. (Ⅵ)
23. 82  
They said, ´What, when we are dead and become dust and bones, shall we be indeed raised up?
- Qaloo aitha mitna wakunna turaban waAAithaman ainna lamabAAoothoona (Ⅰ)
- They said, "What! When we have become earth and bones, are we then going to be raised again? (Ⅱ)
- They say: When we are dead and have become (mere) dust and bones, shall we then, forsooth, be raised again ? (Ⅲ)
- قَالُوا أَإِذَا مِتْنَا وَكُنَّا تُرَابًا وَعِظَامًا أَإِنَّا لَمَبْعُوثُونَ (Ⅳ)
- They say: "What! when we die and become dust and bones, could we really be raised up again? (Ⅵ)
23. 83  
We and our fathers have been promised this before; this is naught but the fairy-tales of the ancients.´
- Laqad wuAAidna nahnu waabaona hatha min qablu in hatha illa asateeru alawwaleena (Ⅰ)
- "We were already promised this, we and our forefathers. Lo! this is naught but old folks´ tales!" (Ⅱ)
- We were already promised this, we and our forefathers. Lo! this is naught but fables of the men of old. (Ⅲ)
- لَقَدْ وُعِدْنَا نَحْنُ وَآبَاؤُنَا هَٰذَا مِن قَبْلُ إِنْ هَٰذَا إِلَّا أَسَاطِيرُ الْأَوَّلِينَ (Ⅳ)
- "Such things have been promised to us and to our fathers before! they are nothing but tales of the ancients!" (Ⅵ)
23. 84  
Say: ´Whose is the earth, and whoso is in it, if you have knowledge?´
- Qul limani alardu waman feeha in kuntum taAAlamoona (Ⅰ)
- Say, "Whose is the earth and those who are therein, if you have knowledge?" (Ⅱ)
- Say: Unto Whom (belongeth) the earth and whosoever is therein, if ye have knowledge ? (Ⅲ)
- قُل لِّمَنِ الْأَرْضُ وَمَن فِيهَا إِن كُنتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ (Ⅳ)
- Say: "To whom belong the earth and all beings therein? (say) if ye know!" (Ⅵ)
23. 85  
They will say, God´s.´ Say: ´Will you not then remember?´
- Sayaqooloona lillahi qul afala tathakkaroona (Ⅰ)
- They will say, "Allah´s." Say, "Will you then not remember?" (Ⅱ)
- They will say: Unto Allah. Say: Will ye not then remember ? (Ⅲ)
- سَيَقُولُونَ لِلَّهِ ۚ قُلْ أَفَلَا تَذَكَّرُونَ (Ⅳ)
- They will say, "To Allah!" say: "Yet will ye not receive admonition?" (Ⅵ)
23. 86  
Say: ´Who is the Lord of the seven heavens and the Lord of the mighty Throne?´
- Qul man rabbu alssamawati alssabAAi warabbu alAAarshi alAAatheemi (Ⅰ)
- Say, "Who is Lord of the seven heavens, and Lord of the Mighty Throne?" (Ⅱ)
- Say: Who is Lord of the seven heavens, and Lord of the Tremendous Throne ? (Ⅲ)
- قُلْ مَن رَّبُّ السَّمَاوَاتِ السَّبْعِ وَرَبُّ الْعَرْشِ الْعَظِيمِ (Ⅳ)
- Say: "Who is the Lord of the seven heavens, and the Lord of the Throne (of Glory) Supreme?" (Ⅵ)
23. 87  
They will say, ´God´s.´ Say: ´Will you not then be godfearing?´
- Sayaqooloona lillahi qul afala tattaqoona (Ⅰ)
- They will say, "Allah." Say, "Will you then not keep your duty unto Him?" (Ⅱ)
- They will say: Unto Allah (all that belongeth). Say: Will ye not then keep duty (unto Him) ? (Ⅲ)
- سَيَقُولُونَ لِلَّهِ ۚ قُلْ أَفَلَا تَتَّقُونَ (Ⅳ)
- They will say, "(They belong) to Allah." Say: "Will ye not then be filled with awe?" (Ⅵ)
23. 88  
Say: ´In whose hand is the dominion of everything, protecting and Himself unprotected, if you have knowledge?´
- Qul man biyadihi malakootu kulli shayin wahuwa yujeeru wala yujaru AAalayhi in kuntum taAAlamoona (Ⅰ)
- Say, "In whose hand is the dominion over all things; He succours (or protects) but is not succoured (or needs no protection or against whom there is no protection), if you did but know?" (Ⅱ)
- Say: In Whose hand is the dominion over all things and He protecteth, while against Him there is no protection, if ye have knowledge ? (Ⅲ)
- قُلْ مَن بِيَدِهِ مَلَكُوتُ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ وَهُوَ يُجِيرُ وَلَا يُجَارُ عَلَيْهِ إِن كُنتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ (Ⅳ)
- Say: "Who is it in whose hands is the governance of all things,- who protects (all), but is not protected (of any)? (say) if ye know." (Ⅵ)
23. 89  
They will say, ´God´s.´ Say: ´How then are you bewitched?
- Sayaqooloona lillahi qul faanna tusharoona (Ⅰ)
- They will say, "Allah´s". Say, "How then can you be so deluded?" (Ⅱ)
- They will say: Unto Allah (all that belongeth). Say: How then are ye bewitched ? (Ⅲ)
- سَيَقُولُونَ لِلَّهِ ۚ قُلْ فَأَنَّىٰ تُسْحَرُونَ (Ⅳ)
- They will say, "(It belongs) to Allah." Say: "Then how are ye deluded?" (Ⅵ)
23. 90  
Nay, but We brought them the truth and they are truly liars.
- Bal ataynahum bialhaqqi wainnahum lakathiboona (Ⅰ)
- Nay, We have brought them the Truth, but, verily, they are Liars! (Ⅱ)
- Nay, but We have brought them the Truth, and lo! they are liars. (Ⅲ)
- بَلْ أَتَيْنَاهُم بِالْحَقِّ وَإِنَّهُمْ لَكَاذِبُونَ (Ⅳ)
- We have sent them the Truth: but they indeed practise falsehood! (Ⅵ)
23. 91  
God has not taken to Himself any son, nor is there any god with Him; for then each god would have taken off that he created and some of them would have risen up over others; glory to be God, beyond that they describe,
- Ma ittakhatha Allahu min waladin wama kana maAAahu min ilahin ithan lathahaba kullu ilahin bima khalaqa walaAAala baAAduhum AAala baAAdin subhana Allahi AAamma yasifoona (Ⅰ)
- Allah never took a son, nor was there ever any God with Him; else would each God have assuredly gone off with (or championed, controlled) that which he had created, and some would assuredly have exalted themselves over (or overcome) others. Glorified be Allah above all that they attribute (to Him)! (Ⅱ)
- Allah hath not chosen any son, nor is there any god along with Him; else would each god have assuredly championed that which he created, and some of them would assuredly have overcome others. Glorified be Allah above all that they allege. (Ⅲ)
- مَا اتَّخَذَ اللَّهُ مِن وَلَدٍ وَمَا كَانَ مَعَهُ مِنْ إِلَٰهٍ ۚ إِذًا لَّذَهَبَ كُلُّ إِلَٰهٍ بِمَا خَلَقَ وَلَعَلَا بَعْضُهُمْ عَلَىٰ بَعْضٍ ۚ سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ عَمَّا يَصِفُونَ (Ⅳ)
- No son did Allah beget, nor is there any god along with Him: (if there were many gods), behold, each god would have taken away what he had created, and some would have lorded it over others! Glory to Allah! (He is free) from the (sort of) things they attribute to Him! (Ⅵ)
23. 92  
who has knowledge of the Unseen and the Visible; high exalted be He, above that they associate!
- AAalimi alghaybi waalshshahadati fataAAala AAamma yushrikoona (Ⅰ)
- Knower of the invisible and the visible, exalted be He above what they associate with Him! (Ⅱ)
- Knower of the Invisible and the Visible! and Exalted be He over all that they ascribe as partners (unto Him)! (Ⅲ)
- عَالِمِ الْغَيْبِ وَالشَّهَادَةِ فَتَعَالَىٰ عَمَّا يُشْرِكُونَ (Ⅳ)
- He knows what is hidden and what is open: too high is He for the partners they attribute to Him! (Ⅵ)
23. 93  
Say: ´O my Lord, if Thou shouldst show me that they are promised,
- Qul rabbi imma turiyannee ma yooAAadoona (Ⅰ)
- Say, "My Lord! if you should show me what they are promised, (Ⅱ)
- Say: My Lord! If Thou shouldst show me that which they are promised. (Ⅲ)
- قُل رَّبِّ إِمَّا تُرِيَنِّي مَا يُوعَدُونَ (Ⅳ)
- Say: "O my Lord! if Thou wilt show me (in my lifetime) that which they are warned against,- (Ⅵ)
23. 94  
O my Lord, put me not among the people of the evildoers.´
- Rabbi fala tajAAalnee fee alqawmi alththalimeena (Ⅰ)
- My Lord! Then place me not amongst the wrong-doing people." (Ⅱ)
- My Lord! then set me not among the wrongdoing folk. (Ⅲ)
- رَبِّ فَلَا تَجْعَلْنِي فِي الْقَوْمِ الظَّالِمِينَ (Ⅳ)
- "Then, O my Lord! put me not amongst the people who do wrong!" (Ⅵ)
23. 95  
Assuredly, We are able to show thee that We promise them.
- Wainna AAala an nuriyaka ma naAAiduhum laqadiroona (Ⅰ)
- And verily We are able to show you that which We have promised them. (Ⅱ)
- And verily We are Able to show thee that which We have promised them. (Ⅲ)
- وَإِنَّا عَلَىٰ أَن نُّرِيَكَ مَا نَعِدُهُمْ لَقَادِرُونَ (Ⅳ)
- And We are certainly able to show thee (in fulfilment) that against which they are warned. (Ⅵ)
23. 96  
Repel thou the evil with that which is fairer. We Ourselves know very well that they describe.
- IdfaAA biallatee hiya ahsanu alssayyiata nahnu aAAlamu bima yasifoona (Ⅰ)
- Repel evil by that which is best. We are best Aware of that which they allege. (Ⅱ)
- Repel evil with that which is better. We are Best Aware of that which they allege. (Ⅲ)
- ادْفَعْ بِالَّتِي هِيَ أَحْسَنُ السَّيِّئَةَ ۚ نَحْنُ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا يَصِفُونَ (Ⅳ)
- Repel evil with that which is best: We are well acquainted with the things they say. (Ⅵ)
23. 97  
And say: ´O my Lord, I take refuge in Thee from the evil suggestions of the Satans,
- Waqul rabbi aAAoothu bika min hamazati alshshayateeni (Ⅰ)
- And say, "My Lord! I seek refuge in Thee from the suggestions of the devils; (Ⅱ)
- And say: My Lord! I seek refuge in Thee from suggestions of the evil ones, (Ⅲ)
- وَقُل رَّبِّ أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ هَمَزَاتِ الشَّيَاطِينِ (Ⅳ)
- And say "O my Lord! I seek refuge with Thee from the suggestions of the Evil Ones. (Ⅵ)
23. 98  
and I take refuge in Thee, O my Lord, lest they attend me.´
- WaaAAoothu bika rabbi an yahdurooni (Ⅰ)
- And I seek refuge in Thee from their presence!" (Ⅱ)
- And I seek refuge in Thee, my Lord, lest they be present with me, (Ⅲ)
- وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ رَبِّ أَن يَحْضُرُونِ (Ⅳ)
- "And I seek refuge with Thee O my Lord! lest they should come near me." (Ⅵ)
23. 99  
Till, when death comes to one of them, he says, ´My Lord, return me;
- Hatta itha jaa ahadahumu almawtu qala rabbi irjiAAooni (Ⅰ)
- Until when death comes to any one of them he says, "My Lord! Send me back, (Ⅱ)
- Until, when death cometh unto one of them, he saith: My Lord! Send me back, (Ⅲ)
- حَتَّىٰ إِذَا جَاءَ أَحَدَهُمُ الْمَوْتُ قَالَ رَبِّ ارْجِعُونِ (Ⅳ)
- (In Falsehood will they be) Until, when death comes to one of them, he says: "O my Lord! send me back (to life),- (Ⅵ)
