3. 50  
وَمُصَدِّقًا لِّمَا بَيْنَ يَدَيَّ مِنَ التَّوْرَاةِ وَلِأُحِلَّ لَكُم بَعْضَ الَّذِي حُرِّمَ عَلَيْكُمْ ۚ وَجِئْتُكُم بِآيَةٍ مِّن رَّبِّكُمْ فَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ
- Wamusaddiqan lima bayna yadayya mina alttawrati waliohilla lakum baAAda allathee hurrima AAalaykum wajitukum biayatin min rabbikum faittaqoo Allaha waateeAAooni (Ⅰ)
- Allah is my Lord, and your Lord, so worship Him: - this is the straight path." (Ⅱ)
- And (I come) confirming that which was before me of the Torah, and to make lawful some of that which was forbidden unto you. I come unto you with a sign from your Lord, so keep your duty to Allah and obey me. (Ⅲ)
- Likewise confirming the truth of the Torah that is before me, and to make lawful to you certain things that before were forbidden unto you. I have come to you with a sign from your Lord; so fear you God, and obey you me. (Ⅳ)
- "´(I have come to you), to attest the Law which was before me. And to make lawful to you part of what was (Before) forbidden to you; I have come to you with a Sign from your Lord. So fear Allah, and obey me. (Ⅵ)
3. 51  
إِنَّ اللَّهَ رَبِّي وَرَبُّكُمْ فَاعْبُدُوهُ ۗ هَٰذَا صِرَاطٌ مُّسْتَقِيمٌ
- Inna Allaha rabbee warabbukum faoAAbudoohu hatha siratun mustaqeemun (Ⅰ)
- And when Jesus perceived their unbelief, He said, "Who will be my helpers in the cause of Allah?" The disciples said, "We will be Allah´s helpers. We believe in Allah, so bear you witness that we have surrendered (unto Him). (Ⅱ)
- Lo! Allah is my Lord and your Lord, so worship Him. That is a straight path. (Ⅲ)
- Surely God is my Lord and your Lord; so serve Him. This is a straight path".´ (Ⅳ)
- "´It is Allah Who is my Lord and your Lord; then worship Him. This is a Way that is straight.´" (Ⅵ)
3. 52  
۞ فَلَمَّا أَحَسَّ عِيسَىٰ مِنْهُمُ الْكُفْرَ قَالَ مَنْ أَنصَارِي إِلَى اللَّهِ ۖ قَالَ الْحَوَارِيُّونَ نَحْنُ أَنصَارُ اللَّهِ آمَنَّا بِاللَّهِ وَاشْهَدْ بِأَنَّا مُسْلِمُونَ
- Falamma ahassa AAeesa minhumu alkufra qala man ansaree ila Allahi qala alhawariyyoona nahnu ansaru Allahi amanna biAllahi waishhad bianna muslimoona (Ⅰ)
- Lord, we believe in what Thou hast revealed, and we follow him whom Thou hast sent, so write us down with those who bear witness." (Ⅱ)
- But when Jesus became conscious of their disbelief, he cried: Who will be my helpers in the cause of Allah ? The disciples said: We will be Allah's helpers. We believe in Allah, and bear thou witness that we have surrendered (unto Him). (Ⅲ)
- And when Jesus perceived their unbelief, he said, ´Who will be my helpers unto God?´ The Apostles said, ´We will be helpers of God; we believe in God; witness thou our submission. (Ⅳ)
- When Jesus found Unbelief on their part He said: "Who will be My helpers to (the work of) Allah?" Said the disciples: "We are Allah´s helpers: We believe in Allah, and do thou bear witness that we are Muslims. (Ⅵ)
3. 53  
رَبَّنَا آمَنَّا بِمَا أَنزَلْتَ وَاتَّبَعْنَا الرَّسُولَ فَاكْتُبْنَا مَعَ الشَّاهِدِينَ
- Rabbana amanna bima anzalta waittabaAAna alrrasoola faoktubna maAAa alshshahideena (Ⅰ)
- But they (the Jews or unbelievers) schemed, and Allah schemed, for Allah is the best of schemers! (Ⅱ)
- Our Lord! We believe in that which Thou hast revealed and we follow him whom Thou hast sent. Enrol us among those who witness (to the truth). (Ⅲ)
- Lord, we believe in that Thou hast sent down, and we follow the Messenger. Inscribe us therefore with those who bear witness.´ (Ⅳ)
- "Our Lord! we believe in what Thou hast revealed, and we follow the Messenger; then write us down among those who bear witness." (Ⅵ)
3. 54  
وَمَكَرُوا وَمَكَرَ اللَّهُ ۖ وَاللَّهُ خَيْرُ الْمَاكِرِينَ
- Wamakaroo wamakara Allahu waAllahu khayru almakireena (Ⅰ)
- Behold! Allah said, "O Jesus! I will take you and raise you up to Myself, and will cleanse you (of the falsehoods) of those who disbelieve, and will set those who follow you above the faithless until the Day of Resurrection. Then unto Me is your return, and I will judge between you concerning that wherein you used to disagree. (Ⅱ)
- And they (the disbelievers) schemed, and Allah schemed (against them): and Allah is the best of schemers. (Ⅲ)
- And they devised, and God devised, and God is the best of devisers. (Ⅳ)
- And (the unbelievers) plotted and planned, and Allah too planned, and the best of planners is Allah. (Ⅵ)
3. 55  
إِذْ قَالَ اللَّهُ يَا عِيسَىٰ إِنِّي مُتَوَفِّيكَ وَرَافِعُكَ إِلَيَّ وَمُطَهِّرُكَ مِنَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا وَجَاعِلُ الَّذِينَ اتَّبَعُوكَ فَوْقَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ ۖ ثُمَّ إِلَيَّ مَرْجِعُكُمْ فَأَحْكُمُ بَيْنَكُمْ فِيمَا كُنتُمْ فِيهِ تَخْتَلِفُونَ
- Ith qala Allahu ya AAeesa innee mutawaffeeka warafiAAuka ilayya wamutahhiruka mina allatheena kafaroo wajaAAilu allatheena ittabaAAooka fawqa allatheena kafaroo ila yawmi alqiyamati thumma ilayya marjiAAukum faahkumu baynakum feema kuntum feehi takhtalifoona (Ⅰ)
- And as for those who disbelieve, I will punish them with grievous punishment in this world and the next, and they shall have none to help them." (Ⅱ)
- (And remember) when Allah said: O Jesus! Lo! I am gathering thee and causing thee to ascend unto Me, and am cleansing thee of those who disbelieve and am setting those who follow thee above those who disbelieve until the Day of Resurrection. Then unto Me ye will (all) return, and I shall judge between you as to that wherein ye used to differ. (Ⅲ)
- When God said, ´Jesus, I will take thee to Me and will raise thee to Me and I will purify thee of those who believe not. I will set thy followers above the unbelievers till the Resurrection Day. Then unto Me shall you return, and I will decide between you, as to what you were at variance on. (Ⅳ)
- Behold! Allah said: "O Jesus! I will take thee and raise thee to Myself and clear thee (of the falsehoods) of those who blaspheme; I will make those who follow thee superior to those who reject faith, to the Day of Resurrection: Then shall ye all return unto me, and I will judge between you of the matters wherein ye dispute. (Ⅵ)
3. 56  
فَأَمَّا الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا فَأُعَذِّبُهُمْ عَذَابًا شَدِيدًا فِي الدُّنْيَا وَالْآخِرَةِ وَمَا لَهُم مِّن نَّاصِرِينَ
- Faamma allatheena kafaroo faoAAaththibuhum AAathaban shadeedan fee alddunya waalakhirati wama lahum min nasireena (Ⅰ)
- But as for those who believe and do good works, He will pay them their wages in full, for Allah loves not the wrongdoers (or unjust). (Ⅱ)
- As for those who disbelieve I shall chastise them with a heavy chastisement in the world and the Hereafter; and they will have no helpers. (Ⅲ)
- As for the unbelievers, I will chastise them with a terrible chastisement in this world and the next; they shall have no helpers.´ (Ⅳ)
- "As to those who reject faith, I will punish them with terrible agony in this world and in the Hereafter, nor will they have anyone to help." (Ⅵ)
3. 57  
وَأَمَّا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ فَيُوَفِّيهِمْ أُجُورَهُمْ ۗ وَاللَّهُ لَا يُحِبُّ الظَّالِمِينَ
- Waamma allatheena amanoo waAAamiloo alssalihati fayuwaffeehim ojoorahum waAllahu la yuhibbu alththalimeena (Ⅰ)
- This which We recite unto you is of the Signs (revelations) and of the Wise Reminder (the Message of Wisdom, the Quran). (Ⅱ)
- And as for those who believe and do good works, He will pay them their wages in full. Allah loveth not wrong-doers. (Ⅲ)
- But as for the believers, who do deeds of righteousness, He will pay them in full their wages: and God loves not the evildoers. (Ⅳ)
- "As to those who believe and work righteousness, Allah will pay them (in full) their reward; but Allah loveth not those who do wrong." (Ⅵ)
3. 58  
ذَٰلِكَ نَتْلُوهُ عَلَيْكَ مِنَ الْآيَاتِ وَالذِّكْرِ الْحَكِيمِ
- Thalika natloohu AAalayka mina alayati waalththikri alhakeemi (Ⅰ)
- Verily the likeness of Jesus with Allah is as the likeness of Adam. He created him from earth, then He said to him: BE! And he was; (Ⅱ)
- This (which) We recite unto thee is a revelation and a wise reminder. (Ⅲ)
- This We recite to thee of signs and wise remembrance. (Ⅳ)
- "This is what we rehearse unto thee of the Signs and the Message of Wisdom." (Ⅵ)
3. 59  
إِنَّ مَثَلَ عِيسَىٰ عِندَ اللَّهِ كَمَثَلِ آدَمَ ۖ خَلَقَهُ مِن تُرَابٍ ثُمَّ قَالَ لَهُ كُن فَيَكُونُ
- Inna mathala AAeesa AAinda Allahi kamathali adama khalaqahu min turabin thumma qala lahu kun fayakoonu (Ⅰ)
- This is the truth from your Lord, so be you not of those who are in doubt. (Ⅱ)
- Lo! the likeness of Jesus with Allah is as the likeness of Adam. He created him of dust, then He said unto him: Be! and he is. (Ⅲ)
- Truly, the likeness of Jesus, in God´s sight, is as Adam´s likeness; He created him of dust, then said He unto him, ´Be,´ and he was. (Ⅳ)
- The similitude of Jesus before Allah is as that of Adam; He created him from dust, then said to him: "Be". And he was. (Ⅵ)
3. 60  
الْحَقُّ مِن رَّبِّكَ فَلَا تَكُن مِّنَ الْمُمْتَرِينَ
- Alhaqqu min rabbika fala takun mina almumtareena (Ⅰ)
- And whoever disputes with you after what has come to you of knowledge, say, "Come, let us call our sons and your sons, and our women and your women, and ourselves and yourselves: then we will earnestly pray and invoke Allah´s curse on those who lie." (Ⅱ)
- (This is) the truth from thy Lord (O Muhammad), so be not thou of those who waver. (Ⅲ)
- The truth is of God; be not of the doubters. (Ⅳ)
- The Truth (comes) from Allah alone; so be not of those who doubt. (Ⅵ)
3. 61  
فَمَنْ حَاجَّكَ فِيهِ مِن بَعْدِ مَا جَاءَكَ مِنَ الْعِلْمِ فَقُلْ تَعَالَوْا نَدْعُ أَبْنَاءَنَا وَأَبْنَاءَكُمْ وَنِسَاءَنَا وَنِسَاءَكُمْ وَأَنفُسَنَا وَأَنفُسَكُمْ ثُمَّ نَبْتَهِلْ فَنَجْعَل لَّعْنَتَ اللَّهِ عَلَى الْكَاذِبِينَ
- Faman hajjaka feehi min baAAdi ma jaaka mina alAAilmi faqul taAAalaw nadAAu abnaana waabnaakum wanisaana wanisaakum waanfusana waanfusakum thumma nabtahil fanajAAal laAAnata Allahi AAala alkathibeena (Ⅰ)
- Verily, those are the true stories, and there is no God but Allah, and, verily, Allah He is the Mighty, the Wise; (Ⅱ)
- And whoso disputeth with thee concerning him, after the knowledge which hath come unto thee, say (unto him): Come! We will summon our sons and your sons, and our women and your women, and ourselves and yourselves, then we will pray humbly (to our Lord) and (solemnly) invoke the curse of Allah upon those who lie. (Ⅲ)
- And whoso disputes with thee concerning him, after the knowledge that has come to thee, say: ´Come now, let us call our sons and your sons, our wives and your wives, our selves and your selves, then let us humbly pray and so lay God´s curse upon the ones who lie.´ (Ⅳ)
- If any one disputes in this matter with thee, now after (full) knowledge Hath come to thee, say: "Come! let us gather together,- our sons and your sons, our women and your women, ourselves and yourselves: Then let us earnestly pray, and invoke the curse of Allah on those who lie!" (Ⅵ)
3. 62  
إِنَّ هَٰذَا لَهُوَ الْقَصَصُ الْحَقُّ ۚ وَمَا مِنْ إِلَٰهٍ إِلَّا اللَّهُ ۚ وَإِنَّ اللَّهَ لَهُوَ الْعَزِيزُ الْحَكِيمُ
- Inna hatha lahuwa alqasasu alhaqqu wama min ilahin illa Allahu wainna Allaha lahuwa alAAazeezu alhakeemu (Ⅰ)
- But if they turn away, Allah is Aware of the evildoers (corrupters, mischief-makers). (Ⅱ)
- Lo! This verily is the true narrative. There is no God save Allah, and lo! Allah, He verily is, is the Mighty, the Wise. (Ⅲ)
- This is the true story. There is no god but God, and assuredly God is the All-mighty, the All-wise. (Ⅳ)
- This is the true account: There is no god except Allah; and Allah-He is indeed the Exalted in Power, the Wise. (Ⅵ)
3. 63  
فَإِن تَوَلَّوْا فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ عَلِيمٌ بِالْمُفْسِدِينَ
- Fain tawallaw fainna Allaha AAaleemun bialmufsideena (Ⅰ)
- Say, "O you people of the Book, come to an agreement between us and you, that we will not serve other than Allah, nor associate aught with him, nor take others for Lords rather than Allah." But if they turn away then say, "Bear witness that we are they who have surrendered." (Ⅱ)
- And if they turn away, then lo! Allah is Aware of (who are) the corrupters. (Ⅲ)
- And if they turn their backs, assuredly God knows the workers of corruption. (Ⅳ)
- But if they turn back, Allah hath full knowledge of those who do mischief. (Ⅵ)
3. 64  
قُلْ يَا أَهْلَ الْكِتَابِ تَعَالَوْا إِلَىٰ كَلِمَةٍ سَوَاءٍ بَيْنَنَا وَبَيْنَكُمْ أَلَّا نَعْبُدَ إِلَّا اللَّهَ وَلَا نُشْرِكَ بِهِ شَيْئًا وَلَا يَتَّخِذَ بَعْضُنَا بَعْضًا أَرْبَابًا مِّن دُونِ اللَّهِ ۚ فَإِن تَوَلَّوْا فَقُولُوا اشْهَدُوا بِأَنَّا مُسْلِمُونَ
- Qul ya ahla alkitabi taAAalaw ila kalimatin sawain baynana wabaynakum alla naAAbuda illa Allaha wala nushrika bihi shayan wala yattakhitha baAAduna baAAdan arbaban min dooni Allahi fain tawallaw faqooloo ishhadoo bianna muslimoona (Ⅰ)
- O people of the Book, why do you dispute about Abraham, when the Torah and the Gospel were not revealed until after him? What! Do you not understand? (Ⅱ)
- Say: O People of the Scripture! Come to an agreement between us and you: that we shall worship none but Allah, and that we shall ascribe no partner unto Him, and that none of us shall take others for lords beside Allah. And if they turn away, then say: Bear witness that we are they who have surrendered (unto Him). (Ⅲ)
- Say: ´People of the Book! Come now to a word common between us and you, that we serve none but God, and that we associate not aught with Him, and do not some of us take others as Lords, apart from God.´ And if they turn their backs, say: ´Bear witness that we are Muslims.´ (Ⅳ)
- Say: "O People of the Book! come to common terms as between us and you: That we worship none but Allah; that we associate no partners with him; that we erect not, from among ourselves, Lords and patrons other than Allah." If then they turn back, say ye: "Bear witness that we (at least) are Muslims (bowing to Allah´s Will). (Ⅵ)
3. 65  
يَا أَهْلَ الْكِتَابِ لِمَ تُحَاجُّونَ فِي إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَمَا أُنزِلَتِ التَّوْرَاةُ وَالْإِنجِيلُ إِلَّا مِن بَعْدِهِ ۚ أَفَلَا تَعْقِلُونَ
- Ya ahla alkitabi lima tuhajjoona fee ibraheema wama onzilati alttawratu waalinjeelu illa min baAAdihi afala taAAqiloona (Ⅰ)
- Here you are, disputing about what you have some knowledge of; why then do you dispute about what you have no knowledge? Allah knows and you know not. (Ⅱ)
- O People of the Scripture! Why will ye argue about Abraham, when the Torah and the Gospel were not revealed till after him ? Have ye then no sense ? (Ⅲ)
- People of the Book! Why do you dispute concerning Abraham? The Torah was not sent down, neither the Gospel, but after him. What, have you no reason? (Ⅳ)
- Ye People of the Book! Why dispute ye about Abraham, when the Law and the Gospel Were not revealed Till after him? Have ye no understanding? (Ⅵ)
3. 66  
هَا أَنتُمْ هَٰؤُلَاءِ حَاجَجْتُمْ فِيمَا لَكُم بِهِ عِلْمٌ فَلِمَ تُحَاجُّونَ فِيمَا لَيْسَ لَكُم بِهِ عِلْمٌ ۚ وَاللَّهُ يَعْلَمُ وَأَنتُمْ لَا تَعْلَمُونَ
- Haantum haolai hajajtum feema lakum bihi AAilmun falima tuhajjoona feema laysa lakum bihi AAilmun waAllahu yaAAlamu waantum la taAAlamoona (Ⅰ)
- Abraham was not a Jew, nor yet a Christian, but he was a "Hanif" (an upright man) who had surrendered, and not of the idolaters. (Ⅱ)
- Lo! ye are those who argue about that whereof ye have some knowledge: Why then argue ye concerning that whereof ye have no knowledge ? Allah knoweth. Ye know not. (Ⅲ)
- Ha, you are the ones who dispute on what you know; why then dispute you touching a matter of which you know not anything? God knows, and you know not. (Ⅳ)
- Ah! Ye are those who fell to disputing (Even) in matters of which ye had some knowledge! but why dispute ye in matters of which ye have no knowledge? It is Allah Who knows, and ye who know not! (Ⅵ)
3. 67  
مَا كَانَ إِبْرَاهِيمُ يَهُودِيًّا وَلَا نَصْرَانِيًّا وَلَٰكِن كَانَ حَنِيفًا مُّسْلِمًا وَمَا كَانَ مِنَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ
- Ma kana ibraheemu yahoodiyyan wala nasraniyyan walakin kana haneefan musliman wama kana mina almushrikeena (Ⅰ)
- Verily, the people who have most claim to (or are nearest of kin to) Abraham are those who follow him, and this prophet, and those who believe: - Allah is the patron of the believers. (Ⅱ)
- Abraham was not a Jew, nor yet a Christian; but he was an upright man who had surrendered (to Allah), and he was not of the idolaters. (Ⅲ)
- No; Abraham in truth was not a Jew, neither a Christian; but he was a Muslim and one pure of faith; certainly he was never of the idolaters. (Ⅳ)
- Abraham was not a Jew nor yet a Christian; but he was true in Faith, and bowed his will to Allah´s (Which is Islam), and he joined not gods with Allah. (Ⅵ)
3. 68  
إِنَّ أَوْلَى النَّاسِ بِإِبْرَاهِيمَ لَلَّذِينَ اتَّبَعُوهُ وَهَٰذَا النَّبِيُّ وَالَّذِينَ آمَنُوا ۗ وَاللَّهُ وَلِيُّ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ
- Inna awla alnnasi biibraheema lallatheena ittabaAAoohu wahatha alnnabiyyu waallatheena amanoo waAllahu waliyyu almumineena (Ⅰ)
- A sect of the people of the Book long to lead you astray, but they only lead themselves astray, and they perceive not. (Ⅱ)
- Lo! those of mankind who have the best claim to Abraham are those who followed him, and this Prophet and those who believe (with him); and Allah is the Protecting Guardian of the believers. (Ⅲ)
- Surely the people standing closest to Abraham are those who followed him, and this Prophet, and those who believe; and God is the Protector of the believers. (Ⅳ)
- Without doubt, among men, the nearest of kin to Abraham, are those who follow him, as are also this Prophet and those who believe: And Allah is the Protector of those who have faith. (Ⅵ)
3. 69  
وَدَّت طَّائِفَةٌ مِّنْ أَهْلِ الْكِتَابِ لَوْ يُضِلُّونَكُمْ وَمَا يُضِلُّونَ إِلَّا أَنفُسَهُمْ وَمَا يَشْعُرُونَ
- Waddat taifatun min ahli alkitabi law yudilloonakum wama yudilloona illa anfusahum wama yashAAuroona (Ⅰ)
- O people of the Book! Why disbelieve you the revelations of Allah, when you yourselves witness them? (Ⅱ)
- A party of the People of the Scripture long to make you go astray; and they make none to go astray except themselves, but they perceive not. (Ⅲ)
- There is a party of the People of the Book yearn to make you go astray; yet none they make to stray, except themselves, but they are not aware. (Ⅳ)
- It is the wish of a section of the People of the Book to lead you astray. But they shall lead astray (Not you), but themselves, and they do not perceive! (Ⅵ)
3. 70  
يَا أَهْلَ الْكِتَابِ لِمَ تَكْفُرُونَ بِآيَاتِ اللَّهِ وَأَنتُمْ تَشْهَدُونَ
- Ya ahla alkitabi lima takfuroona biayati Allahi waantum tashhadoona (Ⅰ)
- O people of the Book! Why do you clothe the truth with falsehood and knowingly hide the truth? (Ⅱ)
- O People of the Scripture! Why disbelieve ye in the revelations of Allah, when ye (yourselves) bear witness (to their truth) ? (Ⅲ)
- People of the Book! Why do you disbelieve in God´s signs, which you yourselves witness? (Ⅳ)
- Ye People of the Book! Why reject ye the Signs of Allah, of which ye are (Yourselves) witnesses? (Ⅵ)
3. 71  
يَا أَهْلَ الْكِتَابِ لِمَ تَلْبِسُونَ الْحَقَّ بِالْبَاطِلِ وَتَكْتُمُونَ الْحَقَّ وَأَنتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ
- Ya ahla alkitabi lima talbisoona alhaqqa bialbatili wataktumoona alhaqqa waantum taAAlamoona (Ⅰ)
- A sect of the people of the Book say, "Believe in what was revealed to those who believed at the first appearance of the day, and disbelieve it at the end thereof" - that (others) may perchance go back (from their faith). (Ⅱ)
- O People of the Scripture! Why confound ye truth with falsehood and knowingly conceal the truth ? (Ⅲ)
- People of the Book! Why do you confound the truth with vanity, and conceal the truth and that wittingly? (Ⅳ)
- Ye People of the Book! Why do ye clothe Truth with falsehood, and conceal the Truth, while ye have knowledge? (Ⅵ)
3. 72  
وَقَالَت طَّائِفَةٌ مِّنْ أَهْلِ الْكِتَابِ آمِنُوا بِالَّذِي أُنزِلَ عَلَى الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَجْهَ النَّهَارِ وَاكْفُرُوا آخِرَهُ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَرْجِعُونَ
- Waqalat taifatun min ahli alkitabi aminoo biallathee onzila AAala allatheena amanoo wajha alnnahari waokfuroo akhirahu laAAallahum yarjiAAoona (Ⅰ)
- "Do not believe save one who follows your religion." Say (unto them), "Verily, the (true) guidance is the guidance of Allah (alone), that any one should be given like what you are given." Or would they dispute with you before your Lord. Say, "The Bounty is in the hand of Allah, He gives it to whom he pleases, for Allah is All-Embracing, All-Knowing. (Ⅱ)
- And a party of the People of the Scripture say: Believe in that which hath been revealed unto those who believe at the opening of the day, and disbelieve at the end thereof, in order that they may return; (Ⅲ)
- There is a party of the People of the Book say, ´Believe in what has been sent down upon those who believe at the beginning of the day, and disbelieve at the end of it; haply they will then return; (Ⅳ)
- A section of the People of the Book say: "Believe in the morning what is revealed to the believers, but reject it at the end of the day; perchance they may (themselves) Turn back; (Ⅵ)
3. 73  
وَلَا تُؤْمِنُوا إِلَّا لِمَن تَبِعَ دِينَكُمْ قُلْ إِنَّ الْهُدَىٰ هُدَى اللَّهِ أَن يُؤْتَىٰ أَحَدٌ مِّثْلَ مَا أُوتِيتُمْ أَوْ يُحَاجُّوكُمْ عِندَ رَبِّكُمْ ۗ قُلْ إِنَّ الْفَضْلَ بِيَدِ اللَّهِ يُؤْتِيهِ مَن يَشَاءُ ۗ وَاللَّهُ وَاسِعٌ عَلِيمٌ
- Wala tuminoo illa liman tabiAAa deenakum qul inna alhuda huda Allahi an yuta ahadun mithla ma ooteetum aw yuhajjookum AAinda rabbikum qul inna alfadla biyadi Allahi yuteehi man yashao waAllahu wasiAAun AAaleemun (Ⅰ)
- He especially selects for His mercy whom he pleases, for Allah is Lord of Unbounded Grace. (Ⅱ)
- And believe not save in one who followeth your religion - Say (O Muhammad): Lo! the guidance is Allah's Guidance - that anyone is given the like of that which was given unto you or that they may argue with you in the presence of their Lord. Say (O Muhammad): Lo! the bounty is in Allah's hand. He bestoweth it on whom He will. Allah is All-Embracing, All-Knowing. (Ⅲ)
- and believe not any but him who follows your religion.´ Say: ´The true guidance is God´s guidance -- that anyone should be given the like of what you have been given, or dispute with you before your Lord.´ Say: ´Surely bounty is in the hand of God; He gives it unto whomsoever He will; and God is All-embracing, All-knowing. (Ⅳ)
- "And believe no one unless he follows your religion." Say: "True guidance is the Guidance of Allah: (Fear ye) Lest a revelation be sent to someone (else) Like unto that which was sent unto you? or that those (Receiving such revelation) should engage you in argument before your Lord?" Say: "All bounties are in the hand of Allah: He granteth them to whom He pleaseth: And Allah careth for all, and He knoweth all things." (Ⅵ)
3. 74  
يَخْتَصُّ بِرَحْمَتِهِ مَن يَشَاءُ ۗ وَاللَّهُ ذُو الْفَضْلِ الْعَظِيمِ
- Yakhtassu birahmatihi man yashao waAllahu thoo alfadli alAAatheemi (Ⅰ)
- And among the people of the Book, there are some who, if you entrust them with a hoard of gold, will readily return it to you; and others among them, if you entrust them with a single coin, will not return it unless you keep standing over them. That is because they say, "We owe no duty to the Gentiles;" but they tell a lie against Allah, knowingly. (Ⅱ)
- He selecteth for His mercy whom He will. Allah is of Infinite Bounty. (Ⅲ)
- He singles out for His mercy whom He will; God is of bounty abounding.´ (Ⅳ)
- For His Mercy He specially chooseth whom He pleaseth; for Allah is the Lord of bounties unbounded. (Ⅵ)
3. 75  
۞ وَمِنْ أَهْلِ الْكِتَابِ مَنْ إِن تَأْمَنْهُ بِقِنطَارٍ يُؤَدِّهِ إِلَيْكَ وَمِنْهُم مَّنْ إِن تَأْمَنْهُ بِدِينَارٍ لَّا يُؤَدِّهِ إِلَيْكَ إِلَّا مَا دُمْتَ عَلَيْهِ قَائِمًا ۗ ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمْ قَالُوا لَيْسَ عَلَيْنَا فِي الْأُمِّيِّينَ سَبِيلٌ وَيَقُولُونَ عَلَى اللَّهِ الْكَذِبَ وَهُمْ يَعْلَمُونَ
- Wamin ahli alkitabi man in tamanhu biqintarin yuaddihi ilayka waminhum man in tamanhu bideenarin la yuaddihi ilayka illa ma dumta AAalayhi qaiman thalika biannahum qaloo laysa AAalayna fee alommiyyeena sabeelun wayaqooloona AAala Allahi alkathiba wahum yaAAlamoona (Ⅰ)
- Nay, whoever fulfils his covenant and acts righteously, - verily, Allah loves those who act righteously. (Ⅱ)
- Among the People of the Scripture there is he who, if thou trust him with a weight of treasure, will return it to thee. And among them there is he who, if thou trust him with a piece of gold, will not return it to thee unless thou keep standing over him. That is because they say: We have no duty to the Gentiles. They speak a lie concerning Allah knowingly. (Ⅲ)
- And of the People of the Book is he who, if thou trust him with a hundredweight, will restore it thee; and of them is he who, if thou trust him with one pound, will not restore it thee, unless ever thou standest over him. That, because they say, ´There is no way over us as to the common people.´ They speak falsehood against God and that wittingly. (Ⅳ)
- Among the People of the Book are some who, if entrusted with a hoard of gold, will (readily) pay it back; others, who, if entrusted with a single silver coin, will not repay it unless thou constantly stoodest demanding, because, they say, "there is no call on us (to keep faith) with these ignorant (Pagans)." but they tell a lie against Allah, and (well) they know it. (Ⅵ)
3. 76  
بَلَىٰ مَنْ أَوْفَىٰ بِعَهْدِهِ وَاتَّقَىٰ فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ يُحِبُّ الْمُتَّقِينَ
- Bala man awfa biAAahdihi waittaqa fainna Allaha yuhibbu almuttaqeena (Ⅰ)
- Verily, those who sell Allah´s covenant and their oaths for a small price, these have no portion in the Hereafter. Allah will not speak to them, and will not look upon them on the Day of Resurrection, nor will He make them grow (spiritually); but theirs is grievous woe. (Ⅱ)
- Nay, but (the chosen of Allah is) he who fulfilleth his pledge and wardeth off (evil); for lo! Allah loveth those who ward off (evil). (Ⅲ)
- Nay, but whoso fulfils his covenant and fears God, God loves the godfearing. (Ⅳ)
- Nay.- Those that keep their plighted faith and act aright,-verily Allah loves those who act aright. (Ⅵ)
3. 77  
إِنَّ الَّذِينَ يَشْتَرُونَ بِعَهْدِ اللَّهِ وَأَيْمَانِهِمْ ثَمَنًا قَلِيلًا أُولَٰئِكَ لَا خَلَاقَ لَهُمْ فِي الْآخِرَةِ وَلَا يُكَلِّمُهُمُ اللَّهُ وَلَا يَنظُرُ إِلَيْهِمْ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ وَلَا يُزَكِّيهِمْ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ
- Inna allatheena yashtaroona biAAahdi Allahi waaymanihim thamanan qaleelan olaika la khalaqa lahum fee alakhirati wala yukallimuhumu Allahu wala yanthuru ilayhim yawma alqiyamati wala yuzakkeehim walahum AAathabun aleemun (Ⅰ)
- And, verily, amongst them is a sect who twist the Scriptures with their tongues, that you may suppose it to be from the Book, but it is not from the Book. They say, "It is from Allah," but it is not from Allah, and they tell a lie against Allah knowingly. (Ⅱ)
- Lo! those who purchase a small gain at the cost of Allah's covenant and their oaths, they have no portion in the Hereafter. Allah will neither speak to them nor look upon them on the Day of Resurrection, nor will He make them grow. Theirs will be a painful doom. (Ⅲ)
- Those that sell God´s covenant, and their oaths, for a little price, there shall be no share for them in the world to come; God shall not speak to them neither look on them on the Resurrection Day, neither will He purify them; and for them awaits a painful chastisement. (Ⅳ)
- As for those who sell the faith they owe to Allah and their own plighted word for a small price, they shall have no portion in the Hereafter: Nor will Allah (Deign to) speak to them or look at them on the Day of Judgment, nor will He cleans them (of sin): They shall have a grievous penalty. (Ⅵ)
3. 78  
وَإِنَّ مِنْهُمْ لَفَرِيقًا يَلْوُونَ أَلْسِنَتَهُم بِالْكِتَابِ لِتَحْسَبُوهُ مِنَ الْكِتَابِ وَمَا هُوَ مِنَ الْكِتَابِ وَيَقُولُونَ هُوَ مِنْ عِندِ اللَّهِ وَمَا هُوَ مِنْ عِندِ اللَّهِ وَيَقُولُونَ عَلَى اللَّهِ الْكَذِبَ وَهُمْ يَعْلَمُونَ
- Wainna minhum lafareeqan yalwoona alsinatahum bialkitabi litahsaboohu mina alkitabi wama huwa mina alkitabi wayaqooloona huwa min AAindi Allahi wama huwa min AAindi Allahi wayaqooloona AAala Allahi alkathiba wahum yaAAlamoona (Ⅰ)
- It is not possible for a man to whom Allah has given the Scripture and the Wisdom and the Prophethood, that then he should say to men, "Be you servants of mine rather than of Allah;" but (what he said was) "Be you rather faithful servants of the Lord in teaching the Scripture of what you learn.” (Ⅱ)
- And lo! there is a party of them who distort the Scripture with their tongues, that ye may think that what they say is from the Scripture, when it is not from the Scripture. And they say: It is from Allah, when it is not from Allah; and they speak a lie concerning Allah knowingly. (Ⅲ)
- And there is a sect of them twist their tongues with the Book, that you may suppose it part of the Book, yet it is not part of the Book; and they say, ´It is from God,´ yet it is not from God, and they speak falsehood against God, and that wittingly. (Ⅳ)
- There is among them a section who distort the Book with their tongues: (As they read) you would think it is a part of the Book, but it is no part of the Book; and they say, "That is from Allah," but it is not from Allah: It is they who tell a lie against Allah, and (well) they know it! (Ⅵ)
3. 79  
مَا كَانَ لِبَشَرٍ أَن يُؤْتِيَهُ اللَّهُ الْكِتَابَ وَالْحُكْمَ وَالنُّبُوَّةَ ثُمَّ يَقُولَ لِلنَّاسِ كُونُوا عِبَادًا لِّي مِن دُونِ اللَّهِ وَلَٰكِن كُونُوا رَبَّانِيِّينَ بِمَا كُنتُمْ تُعَلِّمُونَ الْكِتَابَ وَبِمَا كُنتُمْ تَدْرُسُونَ
- Ma kana libasharin an yutiyahu Allahu alkitaba waalhukma waalnnubuwwata thumma yaqoola lilnnasi koonoo AAibadan lee min dooni Allahi walakin koonoo rabbaniyyeena bima kuntum tuAAallimoona alkitaba wabima kuntum tadrusoona (Ⅰ)
- He does not command you to take the angels and the prophets for your Lords; would He bid you faithlessness after you have surrendered? (Ⅱ)
- It is not (possible) for any human being unto whom Allah had given the Scripture and wisdom and the prophethood that he should afterwards have said unto mankind: Be slaves of me instead of Allah; but (what he said was): Be ye faithful servants of the Lord by virtue of your constant teaching of the Scripture and of your constant study thereof. (Ⅲ)
- It belongs not to any mortal that God should give him the Book, the Judgment, the Prophethood, then he should say to men, ´Be you servants to me apart from God.´ Rather, ´Be you masters in that you know the Book, and in that you study.´ (Ⅳ)
- It is not (possible) that a man, to whom is given the Book, and Wisdom, and the prophetic office, should say to people: "Be ye my worshippers rather than Allah´s": on the contrary (He would say) "Be ye worshippers of Him Who is truly the Cherisher of all: For ye have taught the Book and ye have studied it earnestly." (Ⅵ)
3. 80  
وَلَا يَأْمُرَكُمْ أَن تَتَّخِذُوا الْمَلَائِكَةَ وَالنَّبِيِّينَ أَرْبَابًا ۗ أَيَأْمُرُكُم بِالْكُفْرِ بَعْدَ إِذْ أَنتُم مُّسْلِمُونَ
- Wala yamurakum an tattakhithoo almalaikata waalnnabiyyeena arbaban ayamurukum bialkufri baAAda ith antum muslimoona (Ⅰ)
- When Allah made the covenant with the prophets, (He said) "Behold, what I have given you of the Book and Wisdom. Then shall come to you a Messenger confirming that which you possess. You shall believe in him and help him." And He said, "Are you resolved and do you take this covenant as binding on you?" They said, "We are resolved." And He said, "Then bear witness, for I am witness with you; (Ⅱ)
- And he commanded you not that ye should take the angels and the prophets for lords. Would he command you to disbelieve after ye had surrendered (to Allah) ? (Ⅲ)
- He would never order you to take the angels and the Prophets as Lords; what, would He order you to disbelieve, after you have surrendered? (Ⅳ)
- Nor would he instruct you to take angels and prophets for Lords and patrons. What! would he bid you to unbelief after ye have bowed your will (To Allah in Islam)? (Ⅵ)
3. 81  
وَإِذْ أَخَذَ اللَّهُ مِيثَاقَ النَّبِيِّينَ لَمَا آتَيْتُكُم مِّن كِتَابٍ وَحِكْمَةٍ ثُمَّ جَاءَكُمْ رَسُولٌ مُّصَدِّقٌ لِّمَا مَعَكُمْ لَتُؤْمِنُنَّ بِهِ وَلَتَنصُرُنَّهُ ۚ قَالَ أَأَقْرَرْتُمْ وَأَخَذْتُمْ عَلَىٰ ذَٰلِكُمْ إِصْرِي ۖ قَالُوا أَقْرَرْنَا ۚ قَالَ فَاشْهَدُوا وَأَنَا مَعَكُم مِّنَ الشَّاهِدِينَ
- Waith akhatha Allahu meethaqa alnnabiyyeena lama ataytukum min kitabin wahikmatin thumma jaakum rasoolun musaddiqun lima maAAakum latuminunna bihi walatansurunnahu qala aaqrartum waakhathtum AAala thalikum isree qaloo aqrarna qala faishhadoo waana maAAakum mina alshshahideena (Ⅰ)
- But they who turns back after this, these are the miscreants." (Ⅱ)
- When Allah made (His) covenant with the prophets, (He said): Behold that which I have given you of the Scripture and knowledge. And afterward there will come unto you a messenger, confirming that which ye possess. Ye shall believe in him and ye shall help him. He said: Do ye agree, and will ye take up My burden (which I lay upon you) in this (matter) ? They answered: We agree. He said: Then bear ye witness. I will be a witness with you. (Ⅲ)
- And when God took compact with the Prophets: ´That I have given you of Book and Wisdom; then there shall come to you a Messenger confirming what is with you -- you shall believe in him and you shall help him; do you agree?´ He said. ´And do you take My load on you on that condition?´ They said, ´We do agree.´ God said, ´Bear witness so, and I shall be with you among the witnesses.´ (Ⅳ)
- Behold! Allah took the covenant of the prophets, saying: "I give you a Book and Wisdom; then comes to you a messenger, confirming what is with you; do ye believe in him and render him help." Allah said: "Do ye agree, and take this my Covenant as binding on you?" They said: "We agree." He said: "Then bear witness, and I am with you among the witnesses." (Ⅵ)
3. 82  
فَمَن تَوَلَّىٰ بَعْدَ ذَٰلِكَ فَأُولَٰئِكَ هُمُ الْفَاسِقُونَ
- Faman tawalla baAAda thalika faolaika humu alfasiqoona (Ⅰ)
- Seek they other than Allah´s religion? When to Him surrenders whoever is in the heavens and the earth, willingly or unwillingly, and unto Him shall they return! (Ⅱ)
- Then whosoever after this shall turn away: they will be miscreants. (Ⅲ)
- Then whosoever turns his back after that -- they are the ungodly. (Ⅳ)
- If any turn back after this, they are perverted transgressors. (Ⅵ)
3. 83  
أَفَغَيْرَ دِينِ اللَّهِ يَبْغُونَ وَلَهُ أَسْلَمَ مَن فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ طَوْعًا وَكَرْهًا وَإِلَيْهِ يُرْجَعُونَ
- Afaghayra deeni Allahi yabghoona walahu aslama man fee alssamawati waalardi tawAAan wakarhan wailayhi yurjaAAoona (Ⅰ)
- Say, "We believe in Allah, and what has been revealed to you , and what was revealed to Abraham, and Ishmael, and Isaac, and Jacob, and the tribes, and what was given to Moses, and Jesus, and the prophets from their Lord, - we make no distinction between any of them, - and unto Him have we surrendered. (Ⅱ)
- Seek they other than the religion of Allah, when unto Him submitteth whosoever is in the heavens and the earth, willingly or unwillingly, and unto Him they will be returned. (Ⅲ)
- What, do they desire another religion than God´s, and to Him has surrendered whoso is in the heavens and the earth, willingly or unwillingly, and to Him they shall be returned? (Ⅳ)
- Do they seek for other than the Religion of Allah?-while all creatures in the heavens and on earth have, willing or unwilling, bowed to His Will (Accepted Islam), and to Him shall they all be brought back. (Ⅵ)
3. 84  
قُلْ آمَنَّا بِاللَّهِ وَمَا أُنزِلَ عَلَيْنَا وَمَا أُنزِلَ عَلَىٰ إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَإِسْمَاعِيلَ وَإِسْحَاقَ وَيَعْقُوبَ وَالْأَسْبَاطِ وَمَا أُوتِيَ مُوسَىٰ وَعِيسَىٰ وَالنَّبِيُّونَ مِن رَّبِّهِمْ لَا نُفَرِّقُ بَيْنَ أَحَدٍ مِّنْهُمْ وَنَحْنُ لَهُ مُسْلِمُونَ
- Qul amanna biAllahi wama onzila AAalayna wama onzila AAala ibraheema waismaAAeela waishaqa wayaAAqooba waalasbati wama ootiya moosa waAAeesa waalnnabiyyoona min rabbihim la nufarriqu bayna ahadin minhum wanahnu lahu muslimoona (Ⅰ)
- Whoever craves a religion other than the Surrender (Islam), it shall surely not be accepted from him, and he shall be a loser in the Hereafter." (Ⅱ)
- Say (O Muhammad): We believe in Allah and that which is revealed unto us and that which was revealed unto Abraham and Ishmael and Isaac and Jacob and the tribes, and that which was vouchsafed unto Moses and Jesus and the prophets from their Lord. We make no distinction between any of them, and unto Him we have surrendered. (Ⅲ)
- Say: ´We believe in God, and that which has been sent down on us, and sent down on Abraham and Ishmael, Isaac and Jacob, and the Tribes, and in that which was given to Moses and Jesus, and the Prophets, of their Lord; we make no division between any of them, and to Him we surrender.´ (Ⅳ)
- Say: "We believe in Allah, and in what has been revealed to us and what was revealed to Abraham, Isma´il, Isaac, Jacob, and the Tribes, and in (the Books) given to Moses, Jesus, and the prophets, from their Lord: We make no distinction between one and another among them, and to Allah do we bow our will (in Islam)." (Ⅵ)
3. 85  
وَمَن يَبْتَغِ غَيْرَ الْإِسْلَامِ دِينًا فَلَن يُقْبَلَ مِنْهُ وَهُوَ فِي الْآخِرَةِ مِنَ الْخَاسِرِينَ
- Waman yabtaghi ghayra alislami deenan falan yuqbala minhu wahuwa fee alakhirati mina alkhasireena (Ⅰ)
- How shall Allah guide people who have disbelieved after believing and bearing witness that the Apostle is true, and after there come to them manifest signs? Allah guides not the unjust folk. (Ⅱ)
- And whoso seeketh as religion other than the Surrender (to Allah) it will not be accepted from him, and he will be a loser in the Hereafter. (Ⅲ)
- Whoso desires another religion than Islam, it shall not be accepted of him; in the next world he shall be among the losers. (Ⅳ)
- If anyone desires a religion other than Islam (submission to Allah), never will it be accepted of him; and in the Hereafter He will be in the ranks of those who have lost (All spiritual good). (Ⅵ)
3. 86  
كَيْفَ يَهْدِي اللَّهُ قَوْمًا كَفَرُوا بَعْدَ إِيمَانِهِمْ وَشَهِدُوا أَنَّ الرَّسُولَ حَقٌّ وَجَاءَهُمُ الْبَيِّنَاتُ ۚ وَاللَّهُ لَا يَهْدِي الْقَوْمَ الظَّالِمِينَ
- Kayfa yahdee Allahu qawman kafaroo baAAda eemanihim washahidoo anna alrrasoola haqqun wajaahumu albayyinatu waAllahu la yahdee alqawma alththalimeena (Ⅰ)
- As for such their reward is that on them is the curse of Allah, and of the angels, and of all mankind (collectively); (Ⅱ)
- How shall Allah guide a people who disbelieved after their belief and (after) they bore witness that the messenger is true and after clear proofs (of Allah's Sovereignty) had come unto them. And Allah guideth not wrongdoing folk. (Ⅲ)
- How shall God guide a people who have disbelieved after they believed, and bore witness that the Messenger is true, and the clear signs came to them? God guides not the people of the evildoers. (Ⅳ)
- How shall Allah Guide those who reject Faith after they accepted it and bore witness that the Messenger was true and that Clear Signs had come unto them? but Allah guides not a people unjust. (Ⅵ)
3. 87  
أُولَٰئِكَ جَزَاؤُهُمْ أَنَّ عَلَيْهِمْ لَعْنَةَ اللَّهِ وَالْمَلَائِكَةِ وَالنَّاسِ أَجْمَعِينَ
- Olaika jazaohum anna AAalayhim laAAnata Allahi waalmalaikati waalnnasi ajmaAAeena (Ⅰ)
- They shall dwell therein - the torment shall not be lightened from them, nor shall they have respite; (Ⅱ)
- As for such, their guerdon is that on them rests the curse of Allah and of angels and of men combined. (Ⅲ)
- Those -- their recompense is that there shall rest on them the curse of God and of the angels and of men, altogether, (Ⅳ)
- Of such the reward is that on them (rests) the curse of Allah, of His angels, and of all mankind;- (Ⅵ)
3. 88  
خَالِدِينَ فِيهَا لَا يُخَفَّفُ عَنْهُمُ الْعَذَابُ وَلَا هُمْ يُنظَرُونَ
- Khalideena feeha la yukhaffafu AAanhumu alAAathabu wala hum yuntharoona (Ⅰ)
- Save those who repent after that, and do right (or make amends), for verily, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful. (Ⅱ)
- They will abide therein. Their doom will not be lightened, neither will they be reprieved; (Ⅲ)
- therein dwelling forever; the chastisement shall not be lightened for them; no respite shall be given them. (Ⅳ)
- In that will they dwell; nor will their penalty be lightened, nor respite be (their lot);- (Ⅵ)
3. 89  
إِلَّا الَّذِينَ تَابُوا مِن بَعْدِ ذَٰلِكَ وَأَصْلَحُوا فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ غَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ
- Illa allatheena taboo min baAAdi thalika waaslahoo fainna Allaha ghafoorun raheemun (Ⅰ)
- Verily, those who disbelieve after believing, and then increase in disbelief, their repentance shall not be accepted; these are those who are astray. (Ⅱ)
- Save those who afterward repent and do right. Lo! Allah is Forgiving, Merciful. (Ⅲ)
- But those who repent thereafter, and make amends -- God is All-forgiving, All-compassionate. (Ⅳ)
- Except for those that repent (Even) after that, and make amends; for verily Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful. (Ⅵ)
3. 90  
إِنَّ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا بَعْدَ إِيمَانِهِمْ ثُمَّ ازْدَادُوا كُفْرًا لَّن تُقْبَلَ تَوْبَتُهُمْ وَأُولَٰئِكَ هُمُ الضَّالُّونَ
- Inna allatheena kafaroo baAAda eemanihim thumma izdadoo kufran lan tuqbala tawbatuhum waolaika humu alddalloona (Ⅰ)
- Verily, those who disbelieve (or reject faith) and die in disbelief, there shall not be accepted from any one of them the earth-full of gold, though he should give it as a ransom. For them is grievous woe, and no helpers have they. (Ⅱ)
- Lo! those who disbelieve after their (profession of) belief, and afterward grow violent in disbelief: their repentance will not be accepted. And such are those who are astray. (Ⅲ)
- Surely those who disbelieve after they have believed and then increase in unbelief -- their repentance shall not be accepted; those are the ones who stray. (Ⅳ)
- But those who reject Faith after they accepted it, and then go on adding to their defiance of Faith,- never will their repentance be accepted; for they are those who have (of set purpose) gone astray. (Ⅵ)
3. 91  
إِنَّ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا وَمَاتُوا وَهُمْ كُفَّارٌ فَلَن يُقْبَلَ مِنْ أَحَدِهِم مِّلْءُ الْأَرْضِ ذَهَبًا وَلَوِ افْتَدَىٰ بِهِ ۗ أُولَٰئِكَ لَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ وَمَا لَهُم مِّن نَّاصِرِينَ
- Inna allatheena kafaroo wamatoo wahum kuffarun falan yuqbala min ahadihim milo alardi thahaban walawi iftada bihi olaika lahum AAathabun aleemun wama lahum min nasireena (Ⅰ)
- You cannot attain to righteousness until you spend freely of what you love. But what you spend, of that Allah is aware. (Ⅱ)
- Lo! those who disbelieve, and die in disbelief, the (whole) earth full of gold would not be accepted from such an one if it were offered as a ransom (for his soul). Theirs will be a painful doom and they will have no helpers. (Ⅲ)
- Surely those who disbelieve, and die disbelieving, there shall not be accepted from any one of them the whole earth full of gold, if he would ransom himself thereby; for them awaits a painful chastisement, and they shall have no helpers. (Ⅳ)
- As to those who reject Faith, and die rejecting,- never would be accepted from any such as much gold as the earth contains, though they should offer it for ransom. For such is (in store) a penalty grievous, and they will find no helpers. (Ⅵ)
3. 92  
لَن تَنَالُوا الْبِرَّ حَتَّىٰ تُنفِقُوا مِمَّا تُحِبُّونَ ۚ وَمَا تُنفِقُوا مِن شَيْءٍ فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ بِهِ عَلِيمٌ
- Lan tanaloo albirra hatta tunfiqoo mimma tuhibboona wama tunfiqoo min shayin fainna Allaha bihi AAaleemun (Ⅰ)
- All food was lawful to the children of Israel save what Israel made unlawful to itself before the Torah was revealed. Say, "Bring the Torah and recite it, if you speak the truth." (Ⅱ)
- Ye will not attain unto piety until ye spend of that which ye love. And whatsoever ye spend, Allah is Aware thereof. (Ⅲ)
- You will not attain piety until you expend of what you love; and whatever thing you expend, God knows of it. (Ⅳ)
- By no means shall ye attain righteousness unless ye give (freely) of that which ye love; and whatever ye give, of a truth Allah knoweth it well. (Ⅵ)
3. 93  
۞ كُلُّ الطَّعَامِ كَانَ حِلًّا لِّبَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ إِلَّا مَا حَرَّمَ إِسْرَائِيلُ عَلَىٰ نَفْسِهِ مِن قَبْلِ أَن تُنَزَّلَ التَّوْرَاةُ ۗ قُلْ فَأْتُوا بِالتَّوْرَاةِ فَاتْلُوهَا إِن كُنتُمْ صَادِقِينَ
- Kullu alttaAAami kana hillan libanee israeela illa ma harrama israeelu AAala nafsihi min qabli an tunazzala alttawratu qul fatoo bialttawrati faotlooha in kuntum sadiqeena (Ⅰ)
- But whoever invents against Allah a lie, after that, they are, indeed, the wrong-doers. (Ⅱ)
- All food was lawful unto the Children of Israel, save that which Israel forbade himself, (in days) before the Torah was revealed. Say: Produce the Torah and read it (unto us) if ye are truthful. (Ⅲ)
- All food was lawful to the Children of Israel save what Israel forbade for himself before the Torah was sent down. Say: ´Bring you the Torah now, and recite it, if you are truthful.´ (Ⅳ)
- All food was lawful to the Children of Israel, except what Israel Made unlawful for itself, before the Law (of Moses) was revealed. Say: "Bring ye the Law and study it, if ye be men of truth." (Ⅵ)
3. 94  
فَمَنِ افْتَرَىٰ عَلَى اللَّهِ الْكَذِبَ مِن بَعْدِ ذَٰلِكَ فَأُولَٰئِكَ هُمُ الظَّالِمُونَ
- Famani iftara AAala Allahi alkathiba min baAAdi thalika faolaika humu althalimoona (Ⅰ)
- Say, "Allah speaks the truth, then follow the faith of Abraham, a "Hanif" (an upright or righteous man), who was not of the idolaters." (Ⅱ)
- And whoever shall invent a falsehood after that concerning Allah, such will be wrong-doers. (Ⅲ)
- Whoso forges falsehood against God after that, those are the evildoers. (Ⅳ)
- If any, after this, invent a lie and attribute it to Allah, they are indeed unjust wrong-doers. (Ⅵ)
3. 95  
قُلْ صَدَقَ اللَّهُ ۗ فَاتَّبِعُوا مِلَّةَ إِبْرَاهِيمَ حَنِيفًا وَمَا كَانَ مِنَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ
- Qul sadaqa Allahu faittabiAAoo millata ibraheema haneefan wama kana mina almushrikeena (Ⅰ)
- Verily, the first House founded for men was surely that at Bekkah (Mecca), a blessed place and a guidance to the worlds. (Ⅱ)
- Say: Allah speaketh truth. So follow the religion of Abraham, the upright. He was not of the idolaters. (Ⅲ)
- Say: ´God has spoken the truth; therefore follow the creed of Abraham, a man of pure faith and no idolater.´ (Ⅳ)
- Say: "Allah speaketh the Truth: follow the religion of Abraham, the sane in faith; he was not of the Pagans." (Ⅵ)
3. 96  
إِنَّ أَوَّلَ بَيْتٍ وُضِعَ لِلنَّاسِ لَلَّذِي بِبَكَّةَ مُبَارَكًا وَهُدًى لِّلْعَالَمِينَ
- Inna awwala baytin wudiAAa lilnnasi lallathee bibakkata mubarakan wahudan lilAAalameena (Ⅰ)
- Therein are manifest signs - Abraham´s station, and whoever enters it is safe. It is a duty to Allah for man to make the pilgrimage unto the House, for whoever can find his way there (or can afford it). But whoever disbelieves - Allah is Independent (not needful) of all creatures (or worlds). (Ⅱ)
- Lo! the first Sanctuary appointed for mankind was that at Mecca, a blessed place, a guidance to the peoples; (Ⅲ)
- The first House established for the people was that at Bekka, a place holy, and a guidance to all beings. (Ⅳ)
- The first House (of worship) appointed for men was that at Bakka: Full of blessing and of guidance for all kinds of beings: (Ⅵ)
3. 97  
فِيهِ آيَاتٌ بَيِّنَاتٌ مَّقَامُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ۖ وَمَن دَخَلَهُ كَانَ آمِنًا ۗ وَلِلَّهِ عَلَى النَّاسِ حِجُّ الْبَيْتِ مَنِ اسْتَطَاعَ إِلَيْهِ سَبِيلًا ۚ وَمَن كَفَرَ فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ غَنِيٌّ عَنِ الْعَالَمِينَ
- Feehi ayatun bayyinatun maqamu ibraheema waman dakhalahu kana aminan walillahi AAala alnnasi hijju albayti mani istataAAa ilayhi sabeelan waman kafara fainna Allaha ghaniyyun AAani alAAalameena (Ⅰ)
- Say, "O people of the Book! Why do you disbelieve in Allah´s revelations, when Allah is witness of what you do?" (Ⅱ)
- Wherein are plain memorials (of Allah's guidance); the place where Abraham stood up to pray; and whosoever entereth it is safe. And pilgrimage to the House is a duty unto Allah for mankind, for him who can find a way thither. As for him who disbelieveth, (let him know that) lo! Allah is Independent of (all) creatures. (Ⅲ)
- Therein are clear signs -- the station of Abraham, and whosoever enters it is in security. It is the duty of all men towards God to come to the House a pilgrim, if he is able to make his way there. As for the unbeliever, God is All-sufficient nor needs any being. (Ⅳ)
- In it are Signs Manifest; (for example), the Station of Abraham; whoever enters it attains security; Pilgrimage thereto is a duty men owe to Allah,- those who can afford the journey; but if any deny faith, Allah stands not in need of any of His creatures. (Ⅵ)
3. 98  
قُلْ يَا أَهْلَ الْكِتَابِ لِمَ تَكْفُرُونَ بِآيَاتِ اللَّهِ وَاللَّهُ شَهِيدٌ عَلَىٰ مَا تَعْمَلُونَ
- Qul ya ahla alkitabi lima takfuroona biayati Allahi waAllahu shaheedun AAala ma taAAmaloona (Ⅰ)
- Say, "O people of the Book! Why do you turn from the way of Allah him who believes, craving to make it crooked, when you are yourselves witnesses (of Allah´s covenant)? But Allah is not unmindful of what you do." (Ⅱ)
- Say: O People of the Scripture! Why disbelieve ye in the revelations of Allah, when Allah (Himself) is Witness of what ye do ? (Ⅲ)
- Say: ´People of the Book, why do you disbelieve in the signs of God? Surely God is witness of the things you do.´ (Ⅳ)
- Say: "O People of the Book! Why reject ye the Signs of Allah, when Allah is Himself witness to all ye do?" (Ⅵ)
3. 99  
قُلْ يَا أَهْلَ الْكِتَابِ لِمَ تَصُدُّونَ عَن سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ مَنْ آمَنَ تَبْغُونَهَا عِوَجًا وَأَنتُمْ شُهَدَاءُ ۗ وَمَا اللَّهُ بِغَافِلٍ عَمَّا تَعْمَلُونَ
- Qul ya ahla alkitabi lima tasuddoona AAan sabeeli Allahi man amana tabghoonaha AAiwajan waantum shuhadao wama Allahu bighafilin AAamma taAAmaloona (Ⅰ)
- O you who believe! If you obey the sect of those to whom the Book was brought, they will turn you from believers to unbelievers again. (Ⅱ)
- Say: O People of the Scripture! Why drive ye back believers from the way of Allah, seeking to make it crooked, when ye are witnesses (to Allah's guidance) ? Allah is not unaware of what ye do. (Ⅲ)
- Say: ´People of the Book, why do you bar from God´s way the believer, desiring to make it crooked, yourselves being witnesses? God is not heedless of the things you do.´ (Ⅳ)
- Say: "O ye People of the Book! Why obstruct ye those who believe, from the path of Allah, Seeking to make it crooked, while ye were yourselves witnesses (to Allah´s Covenant)? but Allah is not unmindful of all that ye do." (Ⅵ)
