38. 50  
Gardens of Eden, whereof the gates are open to them,
- Jannati AAadnin mufattahatan lahumu alabwabu (Ⅰ)
- The Gardens of Eternity, whose doors are opened for them. (Ⅱ)
- Gardens of Eden, whereof the gates are opened for them, (Ⅲ)
- جَنَّاتِ عَدْنٍ مُّفَتَّحَةً لَّهُمُ الْأَبْوَابُ (Ⅳ)
- Gardens of Eternity, whose doors will (ever) be open to them; (Ⅵ)
38. 51  
wherein they recline, and wherein they call for fruits abundant, and sweet potions,
- Muttakieena feeha yadAAoona feeha bifakihatin katheeratin washarabin (Ⅰ)
- Wherein reclining, they call for many fruits and cool drink therein. (Ⅱ)
- Wherein, reclining, they call for plenteous fruit and cool drink (that is) therein. (Ⅲ)
- مُتَّكِئِينَ فِيهَا يَدْعُونَ فِيهَا بِفَاكِهَةٍ كَثِيرَةٍ وَشَرَابٍ (Ⅳ)
- Therein will they recline (at ease): Therein can they call (at pleasure) for fruit in abundance, and (delicious) drink; (Ⅵ)
38. 52  
and with them maidens restraining their glances of equal age.
- WaAAindahum qasiratu alttarfi atrabun (Ⅰ)
- And with them shall be those restrained (modest) eyes, companions equal in age. (Ⅱ)
- And with them are those of modest gaze, companions. (Ⅲ)
- ۞ وَعِندَهُمْ قَاصِرَاتُ الطَّرْفِ أَتْرَابٌ (Ⅳ)
- And beside them will be chaste women restraining their glances, (companions) of equal age. (Ⅵ)
38. 53  
´This is what you were promised for the Day of Reckoning;
- Hatha ma tooAAadoona liyawmi alhisabi (Ⅰ)
- This is what you are promised for the Day of Reckoning. (Ⅱ)
- This it is that ye are promised for the Day of Reckoning. (Ⅲ)
- هَٰذَا مَا تُوعَدُونَ لِيَوْمِ الْحِسَابِ (Ⅳ)
- Such is the Promise made, to you for the Day of Account! (Ⅵ)
38. 54  
this is Our provision, unto which there is no end.´
- Inna hatha larizquna ma lahu min nafadin (Ⅰ)
- Verily, this in truth is Our provision which will never fail; (Ⅱ)
- Lo! this in truth is Our provision, which will never waste away. (Ⅲ)
- إِنَّ هَٰذَا لَرِزْقُنَا مَا لَهُ مِن نَّفَادٍ (Ⅳ)
- Truly such will be Our Bounty (to you); it will never fail;- (Ⅵ)
38. 55  
All this; but for the insolent awaits an ill resort,
- Hatha wainna lilttagheena lasharra maabin (Ⅰ)
- This (shall be so for the righteous). And lo! There is an evil destination for the transgressors; (Ⅱ)
- This (is for the righteous). And lo! for the transgressors there with be an evil journey's end, (Ⅲ)
- هَٰذَا ۚ وَإِنَّ لِلطَّاغِينَ لَشَرَّ مَآبٍ (Ⅳ)
- Yea, such! but - for the wrong-doers will be an evil place of (Final) Return!- (Ⅵ)
38. 56  
Gehenna, wherein they are roasted - an evil cradling!
- Jahannama yaslawnaha fabisa almihadu (Ⅰ)
- Hell; they will burn in it, an evil resting-place. (Ⅱ)
- Hell, where they will burn, an evil resting-place. (Ⅲ)
- جَهَنَّمَ يَصْلَوْنَهَا فَبِئْسَ الْمِهَادُ (Ⅳ)
- Hell!- they will burn therein, - an evil bed (indeed, to lie on)!- (Ⅵ)
38. 57  
All this; so let them taste it - boiling water and pus,
- Hatha falyathooqoohu hameemun waghassaqun (Ⅰ)
- This (shall be so); then shall they taste it, boiling and intensely cold. (Ⅱ)
- Here is a boiling and an ice-cold draught, so let them taste it, (Ⅲ)
- هَٰذَا فَلْيَذُوقُوهُ حَمِيمٌ وَغَسَّاقٌ (Ⅳ)
- Yea, such! - then shall they taste it,- a boiling fluid, and a fluid dark, murky, intensely cold!- (Ⅵ)
38. 58  
and other torments of the like kind coupled together.
- Waakharu min shaklihi azwajun (Ⅰ)
- And other (punishment) of similar kind in pairs (of the two extremes). (Ⅱ)
- And other (torment) of the kind in pairs (the two extremes)! (Ⅲ)
- وَآخَرُ مِن شَكْلِهِ أَزْوَاجٌ (Ⅳ)
- And other Penalties of a similar kind, to match them! (Ⅵ)
38. 59  
´This is a troop rushing in with you; there is no Welcome for them; they shall roast in the Fire.´
- Hatha fawjun muqtahimun maAAakum la marhaban bihim innahum saloo alnnari (Ⅰ)
- Here is an army plunging in without consideration along with you; no welcome for them; surely they shall burn in the Fire. (Ⅱ)
- Here is an army rushing blindly with you. (Those who are already in the Fire say): No word of welcome for them. Lo! they will roast at the Fire. (Ⅲ)
- هَٰذَا فَوْجٌ مُّقْتَحِمٌ مَّعَكُمْ ۖ لَا مَرْحَبًا بِهِمْ ۚ إِنَّهُمْ صَالُو النَّارِ (Ⅳ)
- Here is a troop rushing headlong with you! No welcome for them! truly, they shall burn in the Fire! (Ⅵ)
38. 60  
They say, ´No, it is you have no Welcome; you forwarded it for us; how evil a stablishment!´
- Qaloo bal antum la marhaban bikum antum qaddamtumoohu lana fabisa alqararu (Ⅰ)
- They shall say, "Nay! Thee too! No welcome for you: it is you who have brought this upon us; evil is this resting-place." (Ⅱ)
- They say: Nay, but you (misleaders), for you there is no word of welcome. Ye prepared this for us (by your misleading). Now hapless is the plight. (Ⅲ)
- قَالُوا بَلْ أَنتُمْ لَا مَرْحَبًا بِكُمْ ۖ أَنتُمْ قَدَّمْتُمُوهُ لَنَا ۖ فَبِئْسَ الْقَرَارُ (Ⅳ)
- (The followers shall cry to the misleaders:) "Nay, ye (too)! No welcome for you! It is ye who have brought this upon us! Now evil is (this) place to stay in!" (Ⅵ)
38. 61  
They say, ´Our Lord, whoso forwarded this for us, give him a double chastisement in the Fire!´
- Qaloo rabbana man qaddama lana hatha fazidhu AAathaban diAAfan fee alnnari (Ⅰ)
- They shall say, "Our Lord! Whoever prepared it first for us, add you to him a double chastisement in the Fire." (Ⅱ)
- They say: Our Lord! Whoever did prepare this for us, oh, give him double portion of the Fire! (Ⅲ)
- قَالُوا رَبَّنَا مَن قَدَّمَ لَنَا هَٰذَا فَزِدْهُ عَذَابًا ضِعْفًا فِي النَّارِ (Ⅳ)
- They will say: "Our Lord! whoever brought this upon us,- Add to him a double Penalty in the Fire!" (Ⅵ)
38. 62  
They say, ´How is it with us, that we do not see men here that we counted among the wicked?
- Waqaloo ma lana la nara rijalan kunna naAAudduhum mina alashrari (Ⅰ)
- And they shall say, "What ails us that we do not see men whom we used to count among the wicked? (Ⅱ)
- And they say: What aileth us that we behold not men whom we were wont to count among the wicked ? (Ⅲ)
- وَقَالُوا مَا لَنَا لَا نَرَىٰ رِجَالًا كُنَّا نَعُدُّهُم مِّنَ الْأَشْرَارِ (Ⅳ)
- And they will say: "What has happened to us that we see not men whom we used to number among the bad ones? (Ⅵ)
38. 63  
What, did we take them for a laughing-stock? Or have our eyes swerved away from them?´
- Attakhathnahum sikhriyyan am zaghat AAanhumu alabsaru (Ⅰ)
- "Was it that we took them wrongly in scorn, or have our eyes missed them? (Ⅱ)
- Did we take them (wrongly) for a laughing-stock, or have our eyes missed them ? (Ⅲ)
- أَتَّخَذْنَاهُمْ سِخْرِيًّا أَمْ زَاغَتْ عَنْهُمُ الْأَبْصَارُ (Ⅳ)
- "Did we treat them (as such) in ridicule, or have (our) eyes failed to perceive them?" (Ⅵ)
38. 64  
Surely that is true -- the disputing of the inhabitants of the Fire.
- Inna thalika lahaqqun takhasumu ahli alnnari (Ⅰ)
- Verily, this is the truth - the mutual wrangling of the inmates of the fire. (Ⅱ)
- Lo! that is very truth: the wrangling of the dwellers in the Fire. (Ⅲ)
- إِنَّ ذَٰلِكَ لَحَقٌّ تَخَاصُمُ أَهْلِ النَّارِ (Ⅳ)
- Truly that is just and fitting,- the mutual recriminations of the People of the Fire! (Ⅵ)
38. 65  
Say: ´I am only a warner. There is not any god but God, the One, the Omnipotent,
- Qul innama ana munthirun wama min ilahin illa Allahu alwahidu alqahharu (Ⅰ)
- Say, "I am only a Warner, and there is no God but Allah, the One, the Absolute (or Supreme and Irresistible): (Ⅱ)
- Say (unto them, O Muhammad): I am only a warner, and there is no God save Allah, the One, the Absolute, (Ⅲ)
- قُلْ إِنَّمَا أَنَا مُنذِرٌ ۖ وَمَا مِنْ إِلَٰهٍ إِلَّا اللَّهُ الْوَاحِدُ الْقَهَّارُ (Ⅳ)
- Say: "Truly am I a Warner: no god is there but the one Allah, Supreme and Irresistible,- (Ⅵ)
38. 66  
Lord of the heavens and earth, and of what between them is, the All-mighty, the All-forgiving.´
- Rabbu alssamawati waalardi wama baynahuma alAAazeezu alghaffaru (Ⅰ)
- "The Lord of the heavens and the earth and that which is between them, the Mighty Enforcer, the most Forgiving. (Ⅱ)
- Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, the Mighty, the Pardoning. (Ⅲ)
- رَبُّ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا الْعَزِيزُ الْغَفَّارُ (Ⅳ)
- "The Lord of the heavens and the earth, and all between,- Exalted in Might, able to enforce His Will, forgiving again and again." (Ⅵ)
38. 67  
Say: ´It is a mighty tiding
- Qul huwa nabaon AAatheemun (Ⅰ)
- Say, "It is a message of great importance, (Ⅱ)
- Say: It is tremendous tidings (Ⅲ)
- قُلْ هُوَ نَبَأٌ عَظِيمٌ (Ⅳ)
- Say: "That is a Message Supreme (above all),- (Ⅵ)
38. 68  
from which you are turning away.
- Antum AAanhu muAAridoona (Ⅰ)
- "From which you are turning away: (Ⅱ)
- Whence ye turn away! (Ⅲ)
- أَنتُمْ عَنْهُ مُعْرِضُونَ (Ⅳ)
- "From which ye do turn away! (Ⅵ)
38. 69  
I had no knowledge of the High Council when they disputed.
- Ma kana liya min AAilmin bialmalai alaAAla ith yakhtasimoona (Ⅰ)
- "1 had no knowledge of the Exalted Chiefs (in heaven) when they discussed (affairs): (Ⅱ)
- I had no knowledge of the Highest Chiefs when they disputed; (Ⅲ)
- مَا كَانَ لِيَ مِنْ عِلْمٍ بِالْمَلَإِ الْأَعْلَىٰ إِذْ يَخْتَصِمُونَ (Ⅳ)
- "No knowledge have I of the Chiefs on high, when they discuss (matters) among themselves. (Ⅵ)
38. 70  
This alone is revealed to me, that I am only a clear warner.´
- In yooha ilayya illa annama ana natheerun mubeenun (Ⅰ)
- "Naught is revealed to me save this, that I am a plain Warner." (Ⅱ)
- It is revealed unto me only that I may be a plain warner. (Ⅲ)
- إِن يُوحَىٰ إِلَيَّ إِلَّا أَنَّمَا أَنَا نَذِيرٌ مُّبِينٌ (Ⅳ)
- ´Only this has been revealed to me: that I am to give warning plainly and publicly." (Ⅵ)
38. 71  
When thy Lord said to the angels, ´See, I am creating a mortal of a clay.
- Ith qala rabbuka lilmalaikati innee khaliqun basharan min teenin (Ⅰ)
- Behold, your Lord said to the angels; Surely I am going to create a mortal from dust (or clay): (Ⅱ)
- When thy Lord said unto the angels: Lo! I am about to create a mortal out of mire, (Ⅲ)
- إِذْ قَالَ رَبُّكَ لِلْمَلَائِكَةِ إِنِّي خَالِقٌ بَشَرًا مِّن طِينٍ (Ⅳ)
- Behold, thy Lord said to the angels: "I am about to create man from clay: (Ⅵ)
38. 72  
When I have shaped him, and breathed My spirit in him, fall you down, bowing before him!´
- Faitha sawwaytuhu wanafakhtu feehi min roohee faqaAAoo lahu sajideena (Ⅰ)
- So when I have fashioned him in due proportions and breathed into him of My spirit, then fall down making obeisance unto him. (Ⅱ)
- And when I have fashioned him and breathed into him of My Spirit, then fall down before him prostrate, (Ⅲ)
- فَإِذَا سَوَّيْتُهُ وَنَفَخْتُ فِيهِ مِن رُّوحِي فَقَعُوا لَهُ سَاجِدِينَ (Ⅳ)
- "When I have fashioned him (in due proportion) and breathed into him of My spirit, fall ye down in obeisance unto him." (Ⅵ)
38. 73  
Then the angels bowed themselves all together,
- Fasajada almalaikatu kulluhum ajmaAAoona (Ⅰ)
- And the angels did obeisance, all of them, (Ⅱ)
- The angels fell down prostrate, every one, (Ⅲ)
- فَسَجَدَ الْمَلَائِكَةُ كُلُّهُمْ أَجْمَعُونَ (Ⅳ)
- So the angels prostrated themselves, all of them together: (Ⅵ)
38. 74  
save Iblis; he waxed proud, and was one of the unbelievers.
- Illa ibleesa istakbara wakana mina alkafireena (Ⅰ)
- But not Iblis: he was too proud and became one of the disbelievers. (Ⅱ)
- Saving Iblis; he was scornful and became one of the disbelievers. (Ⅲ)
- إِلَّا إِبْلِيسَ اسْتَكْبَرَ وَكَانَ مِنَ الْكَافِرِينَ (Ⅳ)
- Not so Iblis: he was haughty, and became one of those who reject Faith. (Ⅵ)
38. 75  
Said He, ´Iblis, what prevented thee to bow thyself before that I created with My own hands? Hast thou waxed proud, or art thou of the lofty ones?´
- Qala ya ibleesu ma manaAAaka an tasjuda lima khalaqtu biyadayya astakbarta am kunta mina alAAaleena (Ⅰ)
- He said, "O Iblis! What prevented you from doing obeisance to him whom I created with My two hands? Are you too proud or are you of the Exalted Ones?" (Ⅱ)
- He said: O Iblis! What hindereth thee from falling prostrate before that which I have created with both My hands ? Art thou too proud or art thou of the high exalted ? (Ⅲ)
- قَالَ يَا إِبْلِيسُ مَا مَنَعَكَ أَن تَسْجُدَ لِمَا خَلَقْتُ بِيَدَيَّ ۖ أَسْتَكْبَرْتَ أَمْ كُنتَ مِنَ الْعَالِينَ (Ⅳ)
- (Allah) said: "O Iblis! What prevents thee from prostrating thyself to one whom I have created with my hands? Art thou haughty? Or art thou one of the high (and mighty) ones?" (Ⅵ)
38. 76  
Said he, ´I am better than he; Thou createdst me of tire, and him Thou createdst of clay.´
- Qala ana khayrun minhu khalaqtanee min narin wakhalaqtahu min teenin (Ⅰ)
- He said, "I am better than he; Thou hast created me of Fire, and him Thou did create of dust (or clay)." (Ⅱ)
- He said: I am better than him. Thou createdst me of fire, whilst him Thou didst create of clay. (Ⅲ)
- قَالَ أَنَا خَيْرٌ مِّنْهُ ۖ خَلَقْتَنِي مِن نَّارٍ وَخَلَقْتَهُ مِن طِينٍ (Ⅳ)
- (Iblis) said: "I am better than he: thou createdst me from fire, and him thou createdst from clay." (Ⅵ)
38. 77  
Said He, ´Then go thou forth hence; thou art accursed.
- Qala faokhruj minha fainnaka rajeemun (Ⅰ)
- He said, "Then get you hence, for lo! you are outcast: (Ⅱ)
- He said: Go forth from hence, for lo! thou art outcast, (Ⅲ)
- قَالَ فَاخْرُجْ مِنْهَا فَإِنَّكَ رَجِيمٌ (Ⅳ)
- (Allah) said: "Then get thee out from here: for thou art rejected, accursed. (Ⅵ)
38. 78  
Upon thee shall rest My curse, till the Day of Doom.´
- Wainna AAalayka laAAnatee ila yawmi alddeeni (Ⅰ)
- "And surely My curse is on you till the Day of Judgment." (Ⅱ)
- And lo! My curse is on thee till the Day of Judgment. (Ⅲ)
- وَإِنَّ عَلَيْكَ لَعْنَتِي إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ الدِّينِ (Ⅳ)
- "And My curse shall be on thee till the Day of Judgment." (Ⅵ)
38. 79  
Said he, ´My Lord, respite me till the day they shall be raised.´
- Qala rabbi faanthirnee ila yawmi yubAAathoona (Ⅰ)
- He said, "My Lord! then reprieve me till the day that they are raised." (Ⅱ)
- He said: My Lord! Reprieve me till the day when they are raised. (Ⅲ)
- قَالَ رَبِّ فَأَنظِرْنِي إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ يُبْعَثُونَ (Ⅳ)
- (Iblis) said: "O my Lord! Give me then respite till the Day the (dead) are raised." (Ⅵ)
38. 80  
Said He, ´Thou art among the ones that are respited
- Qala fainnaka mina almunthareena (Ⅰ)
- He said, "Surely you are of the reprieved ones, (Ⅱ)
- He said: Lo! thou art of those reprieved (Ⅲ)
- قَالَ فَإِنَّكَ مِنَ الْمُنظَرِينَ (Ⅳ)
- (Allah) said: "Respite then is granted thee- (Ⅵ)
38. 81  
until the day of the known time.´
- Ila yawmi alwaqti almaAAloomi (Ⅰ)
- "Until the Day of the time appointed." (Ⅱ)
- Until the day of the time appointed. (Ⅲ)
- إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ الْوَقْتِ الْمَعْلُومِ (Ⅳ)
- "Till the Day of the Time Appointed." (Ⅵ)
38. 82  
Said he, ´Now, by Thy glory, I shall pervert them all together,
- Qala fabiAAizzatika laoghwiyannahum ajmaAAeena (Ⅰ)
- He said, "Then by Thy Might I will surely beguile (tempt them to evil), every one, (Ⅱ)
- He said: Then, by Thy might, I surely will beguile them every one, (Ⅲ)
- قَالَ فَبِعِزَّتِكَ لَأُغْوِيَنَّهُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ (Ⅳ)
- (Iblis) said: "Then, by Thy power, I will put them all in the wrong,- (Ⅵ)
38. 83  
excepting those Thy servants among them that are sincere.´
- Illa AAibadaka minhumu almukhlaseena (Ⅰ)
- "Except Thy single-minded servants from among them, the purified ones." (Ⅱ)
- Save Thy single-minded slaves among them. (Ⅲ)
- إِلَّا عِبَادَكَ مِنْهُمُ الْمُخْلَصِينَ (Ⅳ)
- "Except Thy Servants amongst them, sincere and purified (by Thy Grace)." (Ⅵ)
38. 84  
Said He, ´This is the truth, and the truth I say;
- Qala faalhaqqu waalhaqqa aqoolu (Ⅰ)
- He said, "The Truth Is, and the Truth I speak: (Ⅱ)
- He said: The Truth is, and the Truth I speak, (Ⅲ)
- قَالَ فَالْحَقُّ وَالْحَقَّ أَقُولُ (Ⅳ)
- (Allah) said: "Then it is just and fitting- and I say what is just and fitting- (Ⅵ)
38. 85  
I shall assuredly fill Gehenna with thee, and with whosoever of them follows thee, all together.´
- Laamlaanna jahannama minka wamimman tabiAAaka minhum ajmaAAeena (Ⅰ)
- "That I will most certainly fill hell with you and with those among them who follow you, every one." (Ⅱ)
- That I shall fill hell with thee and with such of them as follow thee, together. (Ⅲ)
- لَأَمْلَأَنَّ جَهَنَّمَ مِنكَ وَمِمَّن تَبِعَكَ مِنْهُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ (Ⅳ)
- "That I will certainly fill Hell with thee and those that follow thee,- every one." (Ⅵ)
38. 86  
Say: ´I ask of you no wage for it, neither am I of those who take things upon themselves.
- Qul ma asalukum AAalayhi min ajrin wama ana mina almutakallifeena (Ⅰ)
- Say (O Muhammad unto mankind), "I do not ask you for any reward for it; nor am I of the impostors: (Ⅱ)
- Say (O Muhammad, unto mankind): I ask of you no fee for this, and I am no simulating. (Ⅲ)
- قُلْ مَا أَسْأَلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍ وَمَا أَنَا مِنَ الْمُتَكَلِّفِينَ (Ⅳ)
- Say: "No reward do I ask of you for this (Qur´an), nor am I a pretender. (Ⅵ)
38. 87  
It is nothing but a reminder unto all beings,
- In huwa illa thikrun lilAAalameena (Ⅰ)
- "Lo! It (the Quran) is nothing but a reminder for all peoples (nations); (Ⅱ)
- Lo! it is naught else than a reminder for all peoples (Ⅲ)
- إِنْ هُوَ إِلَّا ذِكْرٌ لِّلْعَالَمِينَ (Ⅳ)
- "This is no less than a Message to (all) the Worlds. (Ⅵ)
38. 88  
and you shall surely know its tiding after a while.´
- WalataAAlamunna nabaahu baAAda heenin (Ⅰ)
- "And you will, in time, come to know the truth thereof." (Ⅱ)
- And ye will come in time to know the truth thereof. (Ⅲ)
- وَلَتَعْلَمُنَّ نَبَأَهُ بَعْدَ حِينٍ (Ⅳ)
- "And ye shall certainly know the truth of it (all) after a while." (Ⅵ)
