The Beneficent, the Merciful,
- Alhamdu lillahi rabbi alAAalameena (Ⅰ) - In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful. (Ⅱ) - Praise belongs to God, the Lord of all Being, (Ⅲ) - بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ (Ⅳ) - Praise be to Allah, the Cherisher and Sustainer of the worlds; (Ⅵ)

(I swear) By the Mount,
- Waalttoori (Ⅰ) - By the Mount, (Ⅱ) - By the Mount (Ⅲ) - بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ وَالطُّورِ (Ⅳ) - By the Mount (of Revelation); (Ⅵ)

By a Decree inscribed
- Wakitabin mastoorin (Ⅰ) - And a Scripture inscribed (Ⅱ) - and a Book inscribed (Ⅲ) - وَكِتَابٍ مَّسْطُورٍ (Ⅳ) - By a Decree inscribed (Ⅵ)

On a fine parchment, unrolled
- Fee raqqin manshoorin (Ⅰ) - On fine parchment unrolled, (Ⅱ) - in a parchment unrolled, (Ⅲ) - فِي رَقٍّ مَّنشُورٍ (Ⅳ) - In a Scroll unfolded; (Ⅵ)

And the much visited House,
- Waalbayti almaAAmoori (Ⅰ) - And the House frequented, (Ⅱ) - by the House inhabited (Ⅲ) - وَالْبَيْتِ الْمَعْمُورِ (Ⅳ) - By the much-frequented Fane; (Ⅵ)

And the canopy exalted,
- Waalssaqfi almarfooAAi (Ⅰ) - And the roof exalted, (Ⅱ) - and the roof uplifted (Ⅲ) - وَالسَّقْفِ الْمَرْفُوعِ (Ⅳ) - By the Canopy Raised High; (Ⅵ)

And the swollen sea,
- Waalbahri almasjoori (Ⅰ) - And the sea kept filled, (Ⅱ) - and the sea swarming, (Ⅲ) - وَالْبَحْرِ الْمَسْجُورِ (Ⅳ) - And by the Ocean filled with Swell;- (Ⅵ)

52.

Most surely the doom of your Lord will come to pass;
- Inna AAathaba rabbika lawaqiAAun (Ⅰ) - Lo! the doom of thy Lord will surely come to pass; (Ⅱ) - surely thy Lord´s chastisement is about to fall; (Ⅲ) - إِنَّ عَذَابَ رَبِّكَ لَوَاقِعٌ (Ⅳ) - Verily, the Doom of thy Lord will indeed come to pass;- (Ⅵ)

There shall be none to avert it;
- Ma lahu min dafiAAin (Ⅰ) - There is none that can ward it off. (Ⅱ) - there is none to avert it. (Ⅲ) - مَّا لَهُ مِن دَافِعٍ (Ⅳ) - There is none can avert it;- (Ⅵ)

On the day when the heaven shall heave with awful commotion,
- Yawma tamooru alssamao mawran (Ⅰ) - On the day when the heaven will heave with (awful) heaving, (Ⅱ) - Upon the day when heaven spins dizzily (Ⅲ) - يَوْمَ تَمُورُ السَّمَاءُ مَوْرًا (Ⅳ) - On the Day when the firmament will be in dreadful commotion. (Ⅵ)

52.

And the mountains shall move with awful movement.
- Wataseeru aljibalu sayran (Ⅰ) - And the mountains move away with (awful) movement, (Ⅱ) - and the mountains are in motion, (Ⅲ) - وَتَسِيرُ الْجِبَالُ سَيْرًا (Ⅳ) - And the mountains will fly hither and thither. (Ⅵ)

52.

Then woe on that Day unto the deniers (of the truth),
- Fawaylun yawmaithin lilmukaththibeena (Ⅰ) - Then woe that day unto the deniers (Ⅱ) - woe that day unto those that cry lies, (Ⅲ) - فَوَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ (Ⅳ) - Then woe that Day to those that treat (Truth) as Falsehood;- (Ⅵ)

|
52.

Those who sport in vain discourses.
- Allatheena hum fee khawdin yalAAaboona (Ⅰ) - Who play in talk of grave matters; (Ⅱ) - such as play at plunging, (Ⅲ) - الَّذِينَ هُمْ فِي خَوْضٍ يَلْعَبُونَ (Ⅳ) - That play (and paddle) in shallow trifles. (Ⅵ)

The Day on which they shall be driven irresistibly to the Fire of Hell.
- Yawma yudaAAAAoona ila nari jahannama daAAAAan (Ⅰ) - The day when they are thrust with a (disdainful) thrust, into the fire of hell (Ⅱ) - the day when they shall be pitched into the fire of Gehenna: (Ⅲ) - يَوْمَ يُدَعُّونَ إِلَىٰ نَارِ جَهَنَّمَ دَعًّا (Ⅳ) - That Day shall they be thrust down to the Fire of Hell, irresistibly. (Ⅵ)

This is the Fire which you used to deny.
- Hathihi alnnaru allatee kuntum biha tukaththiboona (Ⅰ) - (And it is said unto them): This is the Fire which ye were wont to deny. (Ⅱ) - ´This is the fire that you cried lies to! (Ⅲ) - هَٰذِهِ النَّارُ الَّتِي كُنتُم بِهَا تُكَذِّبُونَ (Ⅳ) - "This:, it will be said, "Is the Fire,- which ye were wont to deny! (Ⅵ)

Is it magic then, or do you not see?
- Afasihrun hatha am antum la tubsiroona (Ⅰ) - Is this magic, or do ye not see ? (Ⅱ) - What, is this magic, or is it you that do not see? (Ⅲ) - أَفَسِحْرٌ هَٰذَا أَمْ أَنتُمْ لَا تُبْصِرُونَ (Ⅳ) - "Is this then a fake, or is it ye that do not see? (Ⅵ)

52.

Burn you therein, and whether you bear it patiently or not, it makes no difference; you shall be requited only what you did.
- Islawha faisbiroo aw la tasbiroo sawaon AAalaykum innama tujzawna ma kuntum taAAmaloona (Ⅰ) - Endure the heat thereof, and whether ye are patient of it or impatient of it is all one for you. Ye are only being paid for what ye used to do. (Ⅱ) - Roast in it! And bear you patiently, or bear not patiently, equal it is to you; you are only being recompensed for that you were working.´ (Ⅲ) - اصْلَوْهَا فَاصْبِرُوا أَوْ لَا تَصْبِرُوا سَوَاءٌ عَلَيْكُمْ ۖ إِنَّمَا تُجْزَوْنَ مَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ (Ⅳ) - "Burn ye therein: the same is it to you whether ye bear it with patience, or not: Ye but receive the recompense of your (own) deeds." (Ⅵ)

|
52.

Surely those who guard (against evil) shall be in Gardens of Bliss,
- Inna almuttaqeena fee jannatin wanaAAeemin (Ⅰ) - Lo! those who kept their duty dwell in gardens and delight, (Ⅱ) - Surely the godfearing shall be in gardens and bliss, (Ⅲ) - إِنَّ الْمُتَّقِينَ فِي جَنَّاتٍ وَنَعِيمٍ (Ⅳ) - As to the Righteous, they will be in Gardens, and in Happiness,- (Ⅵ)

|
52.

Rejoicing because of what their Lord gave them, and their Lord saved them from the punishment of the burning Fire.
- Fakiheena bima atahum rabbuhum wawaqahum rabbuhum AAathaba aljaheemi (Ⅰ) - Happy because of what their Lord hath given them, and (because) their Lord hath warded off from them the torment of hell-fire. (Ⅱ) - rejoicing in that their Lord has given them; and their Lord shall guard them against the chastisement of Hell. (Ⅲ) - فَاكِهِينَ بِمَا آتَاهُمْ رَبُّهُمْ وَوَقَاهُمْ رَبُّهُمْ عَذَابَ الْجَحِيمِ (Ⅳ) - Enjoying the (Bliss) which their Lord hath bestowed on them, and their Lord shall deliver them from the Penalty of the Fire. (Ⅵ)

52.

Eat and drink with profit and health because of what you did,
- Kuloo waishraboo haneean bima kuntum taAAmaloona (Ⅰ) - (And it is said unto them): Eat and drink in health (as a reward) for what ye used to do, (Ⅱ) - ´Eat and drink, with wholesome appetite, for that you were working. (Ⅲ) - كُلُوا وَاشْرَبُوا هَنِيئًا بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ (Ⅳ) - (To them will be said:) "Eat and drink ye, with profit and health, because of your (good) deeds." (Ⅵ)

52.

Reclining on thrones set in ranks, and We will unite them to large-eyed beautiful ones (Houri).
- Muttakieena AAala sururin masfoofatin wazawwajnahum bihoorin AAeenin (Ⅰ) - Reclining on ranged couches. And we wed them unto fair ones with wide, lovely eyes. (Ⅱ) - Reclining upon couches ranged in rows; and We shall espouse them to wide-eyed houris. (Ⅲ) - مُتَّكِئِينَ عَلَىٰ سُرُرٍ مَّصْفُوفَةٍ ۖ وَزَوَّجْنَاهُم بِحُورٍ عِينٍ (Ⅳ) - They will recline (with ease) on Thrones (of dignity) arranged in ranks; and We shall join them to Companions, with beautiful big and lustrous eyes. (Ⅵ)

|
52.

And as for those who believe and whose offspring follow them in faith, We will unite with them their offspring and We will not deprive them of naught of their work; each individual is a pledge for his own deeds.
- Waallatheena amanoo waittabaAAathum thurriyyatuhum bieemanin alhaqna bihim thurriyyatahum wama alatnahum min AAamalihim min shayin kullu imriin bima kasaba raheenun (Ⅰ) - And they who believe and whose seed follow them in faith, We cause their seed to join them (there), and We deprive them of nought of their (life's) work. Every man is a pledge for that which he hath earned. (Ⅱ) - And those who believed, and their seed followed them in belief, We shall join their seed with them, and We shall not defraud them of aught of their work; every man shall be pledged for what he earned. (Ⅲ) - وَالَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَاتَّبَعَتْهُمْ ذُرِّيَّتُهُم بِإِيمَانٍ أَلْحَقْنَا بِهِمْ ذُرِّيَّتَهُمْ وَمَا أَلَتْنَاهُم مِّنْ عَمَلِهِم مِّن شَيْءٍ ۚ كُلُّ امْرِئٍ بِمَا كَسَبَ رَهِينٌ (Ⅳ) - And those who believe and whose families follow them in Faith,- to them shall We join their families: Nor shall We deprive them (of the fruit) of aught of their works: (Yet) is each individual in pledge for his deeds. (Ⅵ)

And We will provide them with fruit and flesh such as they desire.
- Waamdadnahum bifakihatin walahmin mimma yashtahoona (Ⅰ) - And We provide them with fruit and meat such as they desire. (Ⅱ) - And We shall succour them with fruits and flesh such as they desire (Ⅲ) - وَأَمْدَدْنَاهُم بِفَاكِهَةٍ وَلَحْمٍ مِّمَّا يَشْتَهُونَ (Ⅳ) - And We shall bestow on them, of fruit and meat, anything they shall desire. (Ⅵ)

They shall pass from one to another a cup wherein there shall be nothing vain nor any sin.
- YatanazaAAoona feeha kasan la laghwun feeha wala tatheemun (Ⅰ) - There they pass from hand to hand a cup wherein is neither vanity nor cause of sin. (Ⅱ) - while they pass therein a cup one to another wherein is no idle talk, no cause of sin, (Ⅲ) - يَتَنَازَعُونَ فِيهَا كَأْسًا لَّا لَغْوٌ فِيهَا وَلَا تَأْثِيمٌ (Ⅳ) - They shall there exchange, one with another, a (loving) cup free of frivolity, free of all taint of ill. (Ⅵ)

And round them shall serve youth devoted to them, handsome as well-guarded (preserved or hidden) pearls.
- Wayatoofu AAalayhim ghilmanun lahum kaannahum luluon maknoonun (Ⅰ) - And there go round, waiting on them menservants of their own, as they were hidden pearls. (Ⅱ) - and there go round them youths, their own, as if they were hidden pearls. (Ⅲ) - ۞ وَيَطُوفُ عَلَيْهِمْ غِلْمَانٌ لَّهُمْ كَأَنَّهُمْ لُؤْلُؤٌ مَّكْنُونٌ (Ⅳ) - Round about them will serve, (devoted) to them, young male servants (handsome) as Pearls well-guarded. (Ⅵ)

|
|
|
52.

And some of them shall draw near unto others, inquiring,
- Waaqbala baAAduhum AAala baAAdin yatasaaloona (Ⅰ) - And some of them draw near unto others, questioning, (Ⅱ) - They advance one upon another, asking each other questions. (Ⅲ) - وَأَقْبَلَ بَعْضُهُمْ عَلَىٰ بَعْضٍ يَتَسَاءَلُونَ (Ⅳ) - They will advance to each other, engaging in mutual enquiry. (Ⅵ)

Saying, "Surely in the past we feared for our families:
- Qaloo inna kunna qablu fee ahlina mushfiqeena (Ⅰ) - Saying: Lo! of old, when we were with our families, we were ever anxious; (Ⅱ) - They say, ´We were before among our people, ever going in fear, (Ⅲ) - قَالُوا إِنَّا كُنَّا قَبْلُ فِي أَهْلِنَا مُشْفِقِينَ (Ⅳ) - They will say: "Aforetime, we were not without fear for the sake of our people. (Ⅵ)

"But Allah has been gracious to us and He has saved us from the punishment of the Scorching Wind:
- Famanna Allahu AAalayna wawaqana AAathaba alssamoomi (Ⅰ) - But Allah hath been gracious unto us and hath preserved us from the torment of the breath of Fire. (Ⅱ) - and God was gracious to us, and guarded us against the chastisement of the burning wind; (Ⅲ) - فَمَنَّ اللَّهُ عَلَيْنَا وَوَقَانَا عَذَابَ السَّمُومِ (Ⅳ) - "But Allah has been good to us, and has delivered us from the Penalty of the Scorching Wind. (Ⅵ)

52.

"Surely we called upon Him before: Surely He is the Benign, the Merciful."
- Inna kunna min qablu nadAAoohu innahu huwa albarru alrraheemu (Ⅰ) - Lo! we used to pray unto Him of old. Lo! He is the Benign, the Merciful. (Ⅱ) - we were before ever calling upon Him; surely He is the All-benign, the All-compassionate.´ (Ⅲ) - إِنَّا كُنَّا مِن قَبْلُ نَدْعُوهُ ۖ إِنَّهُ هُوَ الْبَرُّ الرَّحِيمُ (Ⅳ) - "Truly, we did call unto Him from of old: truly it is He, the Beneficent, the Merciful!" (Ⅵ)

|
52.

Therefore continue you (O Muhammad) to remind (or warn), for by the grace of your Lord, you are not a soothsayer, or a madman.
- Fathakkir fama anta biniAAmati rabbika bikahin wala majnoonin (Ⅰ) - Therefor warn (men, O Muhammad). By the grace of Allah thou art neither soothsayer nor madman. (Ⅱ) - Therefore remind! by thy Lord´s blessing thou art not a soothsayer neither possessed. (Ⅲ) - فَذَكِّرْ فَمَا أَنتَ بِنِعْمَتِ رَبِّكَ بِكَاهِنٍ وَلَا مَجْنُونٍ (Ⅳ) - Therefore proclaim thou the praises (of thy Lord): for by the Grace of thy Lord, thou art no (vulgar) soothsayer, nor art thou one possessed. (Ⅵ)

|
|
52.

Or do they say, " (he is) A poet, for whom we await a calamity of (or an accident of or caused by) time"?
- Am yaqooloona shaAAirun natarabbasu bihi rayba almanooni (Ⅰ) - Or say they: (he is) a poet, (one) for whom we may expect the accident of time ? (Ⅱ) - Or do they say, ´He is a poet for whom we await Fate´s uncertainty´? (Ⅲ) - أَمْ يَقُولُونَ شَاعِرٌ نَّتَرَبَّصُ بِهِ رَيْبَ الْمَنُونِ (Ⅳ) - Or do they say:- "A Poet! we await for him some calamity (hatched) by Time!" (Ⅵ)

|
52.

Say, "Wait (expect) ye! I too with you am waiting (expecting)."
- Qul tarabbasoo fainnee maAAakum mina almutarabbiseena (Ⅰ) - Say (unto them): Except (your fill)! Lo! I am with you among the expectant. (Ⅱ) - Say: ´Await! I shall be awaiting with you.´ (Ⅲ) - قُلْ تَرَبَّصُوا فَإِنِّي مَعَكُم مِّنَ الْمُتَرَبِّصِينَ (Ⅳ) - Say thou: "Await ye!- I too will wait along with you!" (Ⅵ)

Nay! Do their understandings bid them this? Or are they a people transgressing beyond bounds?
- Am tamuruhum ahlamuhum bihatha am hum qawmun taghoona (Ⅰ) - Do their minds command them to do this, or are they an outrageous folk ? (Ⅱ) - Or do their intellects bid them do this? Or are they an insolent people? (Ⅲ) - أَمْ تَأْمُرُهُمْ أَحْلَامُهُم بِهَٰذَا ۚ أَمْ هُمْ قَوْمٌ طَاغُونَ (Ⅳ) - Is it that their faculties of understanding urge them to this, or are they but a people transgressing beyond bounds? (Ⅵ)

Or do they say, "He has forged it." Nay! They will not believe.
- Am yaqooloona taqawwalahu bal la yuminoona (Ⅰ) - Or say they: He hath invented it ? Nay, but they will not believe! (Ⅱ) - Or do they say, ´He has invented it?´ Nay, but they do not believe. (Ⅲ) - أَمْ يَقُولُونَ تَقَوَّلَهُ ۚ بَل لَّا يُؤْمِنُونَ (Ⅳ) - Or do they say, "He fabricated the (Message)"? Nay, they have no faith! (Ⅵ)

Then let them bring an announcement (or recital) like it if they are truthful.
- Falyatoo bihadeethin mithlihi in kanoo sadiqeena (Ⅰ) - Then let them produce speech the like thereof, if they are truthful. (Ⅱ) - Then let them bring a discourse like it, if they speak truly. (Ⅲ) - فَلْيَأْتُوا بِحَدِيثٍ مِّثْلِهِ إِن كَانُوا صَادِقِينَ (Ⅳ) - Let them then produce a recital like unto it,- If (it be) they speak the truth! (Ⅵ)

Or were they created out of nothing, or are they themselves the creators?
- Am khuliqoo min ghayri shayin am humu alkhaliqoona (Ⅰ) - Or were they created out of naught ? Or are they the creators ? (Ⅱ) - Or were they created out of nothing? Or are they the creators? (Ⅲ) - أَمْ خُلِقُوا مِنْ غَيْرِ شَيْءٍ أَمْ هُمُ الْخَالِقُونَ (Ⅳ) - Were they created of nothing, or were they themselves the creators? (Ⅵ)

Or did they create the heavens and the earth? Nay! They have no certainty.
- Am khalaqoo alssamawati waalarda bal la yooqinoona (Ⅰ) - Or did they create the heavens and the earth ? Nay, but they are sure of nothing! (Ⅱ) - Or did they create the heavens and earth? Nay, but they have not sure faith. (Ⅲ) - أَمْ خَلَقُوا السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ ۚ بَل لَّا يُوقِنُونَ (Ⅳ) - Or did they create the heavens and the earth? Nay, they have no firm belief. (Ⅵ)

Or have they the treasures of your Lord with them? Or have they been set in absolute authority?
- Am AAindahum khazainu rabbika am humu almusaytiroona (Ⅰ) - Or do they own the treasures of thy Lord ? Or have they been given charge (thereof) ? (Ⅱ) - Or are thy Lord´s treasuries in their keeping? Or are they the registrars? (Ⅲ) - أَمْ عِندَهُمْ خَزَائِنُ رَبِّكَ أَمْ هُمُ الْمُصَيْطِرُونَ (Ⅳ) - Or are the Treasures of thy Lord with them, or are they the managers (of affairs)? (Ⅵ)

Or have they a ladder (unto heaven) the means by which they listen? Then let their listener bring a clear authority.
- Am lahum sullamun yastamiAAoona feehi falyati mustamiAAuhum bisultanin mubeenin (Ⅰ) - Or have they any stairway (unto heaven) by means of which they overhear (decrees). Then let their listener produce some warrant manifest! (Ⅱ) - Or have they a ladder whereon they listen? Then let any of them that has listened bring a clear authority. (Ⅲ) - أَمْ لَهُمْ سُلَّمٌ يَسْتَمِعُونَ فِيهِ ۖ فَلْيَأْتِ مُسْتَمِعُهُم بِسُلْطَانٍ مُّبِينٍ (Ⅳ) - Or have they a ladder, by which they can (climb up to heaven and) listen (to its secrets)? Then let (such a) listener of theirs produce a manifest proof. (Ⅵ)

Or has He daughters while you have sons?
- Am lahu albanatu walakumu albanoona (Ⅰ) - Or hath He daughters whereas ye have sons ? (Ⅱ) - Or has He daughters, and they sons? (Ⅲ) - أَمْ لَهُ الْبَنَاتُ وَلَكُمُ الْبَنُونَ (Ⅳ) - Or has He only daughters and ye have sons? (Ⅵ)

|
52.

Or do you ask them for a reward, so that they are overburdened by a debt?
- Am tasaluhum ajran fahum min maghramin muthqaloona (Ⅰ) - Or askest thou (Muhammad) a fee from them so that they are plunged in debt ? (Ⅱ) - Or askest thou them for a wage, and so they are weighed down with debt? (Ⅲ) - أَمْ تَسْأَلُهُمْ أَجْرًا فَهُم مِّن مَّغْرَمٍ مُّثْقَلُونَ (Ⅳ) - Or is it that thou dost ask for a reward, so that they are burdened with a load of debt?- (Ⅵ)

Or have they the unseen so that they write it down?
- Am AAindahumu alghaybu fahum yaktuboona (Ⅰ) - Or possess they the Unseen so that they can write (it) down ? (Ⅱ) - Or is the Unseen in their keeping, and so they are writing it down? (Ⅲ) - أَمْ عِندَهُمُ الْغَيْبُ فَهُمْ يَكْتُبُونَ (Ⅳ) - Or that the Unseen in it their hands, and they write it down? (Ⅵ)

|

Or do they desire to plot (or ensnare)? But those who disbelieve shall be the vanquished in their plot.
- Am yureedoona kaydan faallatheena kafaroo humu almakeedoona (Ⅰ) - Or seek they to ensnare (the messenger) ? But those who disbelieve, they are the ensnared! (Ⅱ) - Or desire they to outwit? The unbelievers, they are the outwitted. (Ⅲ) - أَمْ يُرِيدُونَ كَيْدًا ۖ فَالَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا هُمُ الْمَكِيدُونَ (Ⅳ) - Or do they intend a plot (against thee)? But those who defy Allah are themselves involved in a Plot! (Ⅵ)

Or have they a God other than Allah? Glory be to Allah from what they set up (with Him).
- Am lahum ilahun ghayru Allahi subhana Allahi AAamma yushrikoona (Ⅰ) - Or have they any god beside Allah ? Glorified be Allah from all that they ascribe as partner (unto Him)! (Ⅱ) - Or have they a god, other than God? Glory be to God, above that which they associate! (Ⅲ) - أَمْ لَهُمْ إِلَٰهٌ غَيْرُ اللَّهِ ۚ سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ عَمَّا يُشْرِكُونَ (Ⅳ) - Or have they a god other than Allah? Exalted is Allah far above the things they associate with Him! (Ⅵ)

52.

And if they should see a portion of the heaven coming down, they would say, "Piled up clouds."
- Wain yaraw kisfan mina alssamai saqitan yaqooloo sahabun markoomun (Ⅰ) - And if they were to see a fragment of the heaven falling, they would say: A heap of clouds. (Ⅱ) - Even if they saw lumps falling from heaven, they would say, ´A massed cloud!´ (Ⅲ) - وَإِن يَرَوْا كِسْفًا مِّنَ السَّمَاءِ سَاقِطًا يَقُولُوا سَحَابٌ مَّرْكُومٌ (Ⅳ) - Were they to see a piece of the sky falling (on them), they would (only) say: "Clouds gathered in heaps!" (Ⅵ)

Leave them then till they meet that Day of theirs wherein they shall be made to swoon (with terror):
- Fatharhum hatta yulaqoo yawmahumu allathee feehi yusAAaqoona (Ⅰ) - Then let them be (O Muhammad), till they meet their day, in which they will be thunder-stricken, (Ⅱ) - Then leave them, till they encounter their day wherein they shall be thunderstruck, (Ⅲ) - فَذَرْهُمْ حَتَّىٰ يُلَاقُوا يَوْمَهُمُ الَّذِي فِيهِ يُصْعَقُونَ (Ⅳ) - So leave them alone until they encounter that Day of theirs, wherein they shall (perforce) swoon (with terror),- (Ⅵ)

The day on which their struggle shall not avail them aught, nor shall they be helped.
- Yawma la yughnee AAanhum kayduhum shayan wala hum yunsaroona (Ⅰ) - A day in which their guile will naught avail them, nor will they be helped. (Ⅱ) - the day when their guile shall avail them naught, and they shall not be helped. (Ⅲ) - يَوْمَ لَا يُغْنِي عَنْهُمْ كَيْدُهُمْ شَيْئًا وَلَا هُمْ يُنصَرُونَ (Ⅳ) - The Day when their plotting will avail them nothing and no help shall be given them. (Ⅵ)

52.

And surely those who are unjust shall have a punishment besides that (in the world), but most of them understand not.
- Wainna lillatheena thalamoo AAathaban doona thalika walakinna aktharahum la yaAAlamoona (Ⅰ) - And verily, for those who do wrong, there is a punishment beyond that. But most of them know not. (Ⅱ) - And there surely awaits the evildoers a chastisement beyond even that, but most of them know it not. (Ⅲ) - وَإِنَّ لِلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا عَذَابًا دُونَ ذَٰلِكَ وَلَٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ (Ⅳ) - And verily, for those who do wrong, there is another punishment besides this: But most of them understand not. (Ⅵ)

And wait patiently for the decree (command, judgment) of your Lord, for verily you are in Our eyes; and hymn the praise of your Lord when you rise;
- Waisbir lihukmi rabbika fainnaka biaAAyunina wasabbih bihamdi rabbika heena taqoomu (Ⅰ) - So wait patiently (O Muhammad) for thy Lord's decree, for surely thou art in Our sight; and hymn the praise of thy Lord when thou uprisest, (Ⅱ) - And be thou patient under the judgment of thy Lord; surely thou art before Our eyes. And proclaim the praise of thy Lord when thou arisest, (Ⅲ) - وَاصْبِرْ لِحُكْمِ رَبِّكَ فَإِنَّكَ بِأَعْيُنِنَا ۖ وَسَبِّحْ بِحَمْدِ رَبِّكَ حِينَ تَقُومُ (Ⅳ) - Now await in patience the command of thy Lord: for verily thou art in Our eyes: and celebrate the praises of thy Lord the while thou standest forth, (Ⅵ)

52.

And in the night, give Him glory too, and at the retreat of the stars.
- Wamina allayli fasabbihhu waidbara alnnujoomi (Ⅰ) - And in the night-time also hymn His praise, and at the setting of the stars. (Ⅱ) - and proclaim the praise of thy Lord in the night, and at the declining of the stars. (Ⅲ) - وَمِنَ اللَّيْلِ فَسَبِّحْهُ وَإِدْبَارَ النُّجُومِ (Ⅳ) - And for part of the night also praise thou Him,- and at the retreat of the stars! (Ⅵ)
