وَأَنَّهُ أَهْلَكَ عَادًا الْأُولَىٰ
- Waannahu ahlaka AAadan aloola (Ⅰ) - And that He did destroy the A´ad of old (Ⅱ) - And that He destroyed the former (tribe of) A'ad, (Ⅲ) - and that He destroyed Ad, the ancient, (Ⅳ) - And that it is He Who destroyed the (powerful) ancient ´Ad (people), (Ⅵ)

51
وَثَمُودَ فَمَا أَبْقَىٰ
- Wathamooda fama abqa (Ⅰ) - And Thamud He spared not (Ⅱ) - And (the tribe of) Thamud He spared not; (Ⅲ) - and Thamood, and He did not spare them, (Ⅳ) - And the Thamud nor gave them a lease of perpetual life. (Ⅵ)

52
وَقَوْمَ نُوحٍ مِّن قَبْلُ ۖ إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا هُمْ أَظْلَمَ وَأَطْغَىٰ
- Waqawma noohin min qablu innahum kanoo hum athlama waatgha (Ⅰ) - And the people of Noah before them; surely they were most unjust and insolent transgressors; (Ⅱ) - And the folk of Noah aforetime, Lo! they were more unjust and more rebellious; (Ⅲ) - and the people of Noah before -- certainly they did exceeding evil, and were insolent (Ⅳ) - And before them, the people of Noah, for that they were (all) most unjust and most insolent transgressors, (Ⅵ)

وَالْمُؤْتَفِكَةَ أَهْوَىٰ
- Waalmutafikata ahwa (Ⅰ) - And He destroyed the Overthrown Cities (of Sodom and Gomorrah), (Ⅱ) - And Al-Mu'tafikah He destroyed (Ⅲ) - and the Subverted City He also overthrew, (Ⅳ) - And He destroyed the Overthrown Cities (of Sodom and Gomorrah). (Ⅵ)

54
فَغَشَّاهَا مَا غَشَّىٰ
- Faghashshaha ma ghashsha (Ⅰ) - So that they were covered with that which covers. (Ⅱ) - So that there covered them that which did cover. (Ⅲ) - so that there covered it that which covered. (Ⅳ) - So that (ruins unknown) have covered them up. (Ⅵ)

فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكَ تَتَمَارَىٰ
- Fabiayyi alai rabbika tatamara (Ⅰ) - Then about which of your Lord´s gifts will you dispute? (Ⅱ) - Concerning which then, of the bounties of thy Lord, canst thou dispute ? (Ⅲ) - Then which of thy Lord´s bounties disputest thou? (Ⅳ) - Then which of the gifts of thy Lord, (O man,) wilt thou dispute about? (Ⅵ)

هَٰذَا نَذِيرٌ مِّنَ النُّذُرِ الْأُولَىٰ
- Hatha natheerun mina alnnuthuri aloola (Ⅰ) - This is a Warner of (the series or like) the Warners of old. (Ⅱ) - This is a warner of the warners of old. (Ⅲ) - This is a warner, of the warners of old. (Ⅳ) - This is a Warner, of the (series of) Warners of old! (Ⅵ)

أَزِفَتِ الْآزِفَةُ
- Azifati alazifatu (Ⅰ) - The threatened event (or Hour) draws nigh. (Ⅱ) - The threatened Hour is nigh. (Ⅲ) - The Imminent is imminent; (Ⅳ) - The (Judgment) ever approaching draws nigh: (Ⅵ)

لَيْسَ لَهَا مِن دُونِ اللَّهِ كَاشِفَةٌ
- Laysa laha min dooni Allahi kashifatun (Ⅰ) - There is none besides Allah to disclose (or actualise) it. (Ⅱ) - None beside Allah can disclose it. (Ⅲ) - apart from God none can disclose it. (Ⅳ) - No (soul) but Allah can lay it bare. (Ⅵ)

59
أَفَمِنْ هَٰذَا الْحَدِيثِ تَعْجَبُونَ
- Afamin hatha alhadeethi taAAjaboona (Ⅰ) - Marvel you then at this announcement? (Ⅱ) - Marvel ye then at this statement, (Ⅲ) - Do you then marvel at this discourse, (Ⅳ) - Do ye then wonder at this recital? (Ⅵ)

وَتَضْحَكُونَ وَلَا تَبْكُونَ
- Watadhakoona wala tabkoona (Ⅰ) - And will you laugh and not weep? (Ⅱ) - And laugh and not weep, (Ⅲ) - and do you laugh, and do you not weep, (Ⅳ) - And will ye laugh and not weep,- (Ⅵ)

وَأَنتُمْ سَامِدُونَ
- Waantum samidoona (Ⅰ) - While you are indulging in vanities. (Ⅱ) - While ye amuse yourselves ? (Ⅲ) - while you make merry? (Ⅳ) - Wasting your time in vanities? (Ⅵ)

62
فَاسْجُدُوا لِلَّهِ وَاعْبُدُوا ۩
- Faosjudoo lillahi waoAAbudoo (Ⅰ) - So make obeisance (or prostrations) to Allah and serve Him. (Ⅱ) - Rather prostrate yourselves before Allah and serve Him. (Ⅲ) - So bow yourselves before God, and serve Him! (Ⅳ) - But fall ye down in prostration to Allah, and adore (Him)! (Ⅵ)
