Jean Pierre de Caussade : Biography

The New Devotion is also echoed in the writings of the French priest Jean Pierre de Caussade (1675-1751), who saw the essence of Christianity and all religious practice, as pivoting on the purity of one's heart and complete surrender to the Will of God. To him every moment and every event in life was sacred because "God speaks to everyone through what is happening to them moment by moment."
