21. 1  
Après ces choses, voici ce qui arriva. Naboth, de Jizreel, avait une vigne à Jizreel, à côté du palais d'Achab, roi de Samarie.
- And it came to pass after these things, that Naboth the Jezreelite had a vineyard, which was in Jezreel, hard by the palace of Ahab king of Samaria. (Ⅱ)
- Post verba autem hæc, tempore illo vinea erat Naboth Jezrahelitæ, quæ erat in Jezrahel, juxta palatium Achab regis Samariæ. (Ⅳ)
- ‫ 1  ׃21  ויהי אחר הדברים האלה כרם היה לנבות היזרעאלי אשר ביזרעאל אצל היכל אחאב מלך שמרון ‬ (Ⅴ)

Et Achab parla ainsi à Naboth: Cède-moi ta vigne, pour que j'en fasse un jardin potager, car elle est tout près de ma maison. Je te donnerai à la place une vigne meilleure; ou, si cela te convient, je te paierai la valeur en argent.
- And Ahab spake unto Naboth, saying, Give me thy vineyard, that I may have it for a garden of herbs, because it is near unto my house: and I will give thee for it a better vineyard than it; or, if it seem good to thee, I will give thee the worth of it in money. (Ⅱ)
- Locutus est ergo Achab ad Naboth, dicens : Da mihi vineam tuam, ut faciam mihi hortum olerum, quia vicina est, et prope domum meam : daboque tibi pro ea vineam meliorem, aut si commodius tibi putas, argenti pretium, quanto digna est. (Ⅳ)
- ‫ 2  ׃21  וידבר אחאב אל נבות לאמר תנה לי את כרמך ויהי לי לגן ירק כי הוא קרוב אצל ביתי ואתנה לך תחתיו כרם טוב ממנו אם טוב בעיניך אתנה לך כסף מחיר זה ‬ (Ⅴ)

Mais Naboth répondit à Achab: Que l'Éternel me garde de te donner l'héritage de mes pères!
- And Naboth said to Ahab, The LORD forbid it me, that I should give the inheritance of my fathers unto thee. (Ⅱ)
- Cui respondit Naboth : Propitius sit mihi Dominus, ne dem hæreditatem patrum meorum tibi. (Ⅳ)
- ‫ 3  ׃21  ויאמר נבות אל אחאב חלילה לי מיהוה מתתי את נחלת אבתי לך ‬ (Ⅴ)

Achab rentra dans sa maison, triste et irrité, à cause de cette parole que lui avait dite Naboth de Jizreel: Je ne te donnerai pas l'héritage de mes pères! Et il se coucha sur son lit, détourna le visage, et ne mangea rien.
- And Ahab came into his house heavy and displeased because of the word which Naboth the Jezreelite had spoken to him: for he had said, I will not give thee the inheritance of my fathers. And he laid him down upon his bed, and turned away his face, and would eat no bread. (Ⅱ)
- Venit ergo Achab in domum suam indignans, et frendens super verbo quod locutus fuerat ad eum Naboth Jezrahelites, dicens : Non dabo tibi hæreditatem patrum meorum. Et projiciens se in lectulum suum, avertit faciem suam ad parietem, et non comedit panem. (Ⅳ)
- ‫ 4  ׃21  ויבא אחאב אל ביתו סר וזעף על הדבר אשר דבר אליו נבות היזרעאלי ויאמר לא אתן לך את נחלת אבותי וישכב על מטתו ויסב את פניו ולא אכל לחם ‬ (Ⅴ)

Jézabel, sa femme, vint auprès de lui, et lui dit: Pourquoi as-tu l'esprit triste et ne manges-tu point?
- But Jezebel his wife came to him, and said unto him, Why is thy spirit so sad, that thou eatest no bread? (Ⅱ)
- Ingressa est autem ad eum Jezabel uxor sua, dixitque ei : Quid est hoc, unde anima tua contristata est ? et quare non comedis panem ? (Ⅳ)
- ‫ 5  ׃21  ותבא אליו איזבל אשתו ותדבר אליו מה זה רוחך סרה ואינך אכל לחם ‬ (Ⅴ)
21. 6  
Il lui répondit: J'ai parlé à Naboth de Jizreel, et je lui ai dit: Cède-moi ta vigne pour de l'argent; ou, si tu veux, je te donnerai une autre vigne à la place. Mais il a dit: Je ne te donnerai pas ma vigne!
- And he said unto her, Because I spake unto Naboth the Jezreelite, and said unto him, Give me thy vineyard for money; or else, if it please thee, I will give thee another vineyard for it: and he answered, I will not give thee my vineyard. (Ⅱ)
- Qui respondit ei : Locutus sum Naboth Jezrahelitæ, et dixi ei : Da mihi vineam tuam, accepta pecunia : aut, si tibi placet, dabo tibi vineam meliorem pro ea. Et ille ait : Non dabo tibi vineam meam. (Ⅳ)
- ‫ 6  ׃21  וידבר אליה כי אדבר אל נבות היזרעאלי ואמר לו תנה לי את כרמך בכסף או אם חפץ אתה אתנה לך כרם תחתיו ויאמר לא אתן לך את כרמי ‬ (Ⅴ)
21. 7  
Alors Jézabel, sa femme, lui dit: Est-ce bien toi maintenant qui exerces la souveraineté sur Israël? Lève-toi, prends de la nourriture, et que ton coeur se réjouisse; moi, je te donnerai la vigne de Naboth de Jizreel.
- And Jezebel his wife said unto him, Dost thou now govern the kingdom of Israel? arise, and eat bread, and let thine heart be merry: I will give thee the vineyard of Naboth the Jezreelite. (Ⅱ)
- Dixit ergo ad eum Jezabel uxor ejus : Grandis auctoritatis es, et bene regis regnum Israël. Surge, et comede panem, et æquo animo esto : ego dabo tibi vineam Naboth Jezrahelitæ.\ (Ⅳ)
- ‫ 7  ׃21  ותאמר אליו איזבל אשתו אתה עתה תעשה מלוכה על ישראל קום אכל לחם ויטב לבך אני אתן לך את כרם נבות היזרעאלי ‬ (Ⅴ)
21. 8  
Et elle écrivit au nom d'Achab des lettres qu'elle scella du sceau d'Achab, et qu'elle envoya aux anciens et aux magistrats qui habitaient avec Naboth dans sa ville.
- So she wrote letters in Ahab's name, and sealed them with his seal, and sent the letters unto the elders and to the nobles that were in his city, dwelling with Naboth. (Ⅱ)
- Scripsit itaque litteras ex nomine Achab, et signavit eas annulo ejus, et misit ad majores natu, et optimates, qui erant in civitate ejus, et habitabant cum Naboth. (Ⅳ)
- ‫ 8  ׃21  ותכתב ספרים בשם אחאב ותחתם בחתמו ותשלח *הספרים **ספרים אל הזקנים‪[1]‬ ואל החרים אשר בעירו הישבים את נבות ‬ (Ⅴ)
21. 9  
Voici ce qu'elle écrivit dans ces lettres: Publiez un jeûne; placez Naboth à la tête du peuple,
- And she wrote in the letters, saying, Proclaim a fast, and set Naboth on high among the people: (Ⅱ)
- Litterarum autem hæc erat sententia : Prædicate jejunium, et sedere facite Naboth inter primos populi : (Ⅳ)
- ‫ 9  ׃21  ותכתב בספרים לאמר קראו צום והושיבו את נבות בראש העם ‬ (Ⅴ)
21. 10  
et mettez en face de lui deux méchants hommes qui déposeront ainsi contre lui: Tu as maudit Dieu et le roi! Puis menez-le dehors, lapidez-le, et qu'il meure.
- And set two men, sons of Belial, before him, to bear witness against him, saying, Thou didst blaspheme God and the king. And then carry him out, and stone him, that he may die. (Ⅱ)
- et submittite duos viros filios Belial contra eum, et falsum testimonium dicant : Benedixit Deum et regem : et educite eum, et lapidate, sicque moriatur. (Ⅳ)
- ‫ 10 ׃21  והושיבו שנים אנשים בני בליעל נגדו ויעדהו לאמר ברכת אלהים ומלך והוציאהו וסקלהו וימת ‬ (Ⅴ)
21. 11  
Les gens de la ville de Naboth, les anciens et les magistrats qui habitaient dans la ville, agirent comme Jézabel le leur avait fait dire, d'après ce qui était écrit dans les lettres qu'elle leur avait envoyées.
- And the men of his city, even the elders and the nobles who were the inhabitants in his city, did as Jezebel had sent unto them, and as it was written in the letters which she had sent unto them. (Ⅱ)
- Fecerunt ergo cives ejus majores natu et optimates, qui habitabant cum eo in urbe, sicut præceperat eis Jezabel, et sicut scriptum erat in litteris quas miserat ad eos : (Ⅳ)
- ‫ 11 ׃21  ויעשו אנשי עירו הזקנים והחרים אשר הישבים בעירו כאשר שלחה אליהם איזבל כאשר כתוב בספרים אשר שלחה אליהם ‬ (Ⅴ)
21. 12  
Ils publièrent un jeûne, et ils placèrent Naboth à la tête du peuple;
- They proclaimed a fast, and set Naboth on high among the people. (Ⅱ)
- prædicaverunt jejunium, et sedere fecerunt Naboth inter primos populi. (Ⅳ)
- ‫ 12 ׃21  קראו צום והשיבו את נבות בראש העם ‬ (Ⅴ)
21. 13  
les deux méchants hommes vinrent se mettre en face de lui, et ces méchants hommes déposèrent ainsi devant le peuple contre Naboth: Naboth a maudit Dieu et le roi! Puis ils le menèrent hors de la ville, ils le lapidèrent, et il mourut.
- And there came in two men, children of Belial, and sat before him: and the men of Belial witnessed against him, even against Naboth, in the presence of the people, saying, Naboth did blaspheme God and the king. Then they carried him forth out of the city, and stoned him with stones, that he died. (Ⅱ)
- Et adductis duobus viris filiis diaboli, fecerunt eos sedere contra eum : at illi, scilicet ut viri diabolici, dixerunt contra eum testimonium coram multitudine : Benedixit Naboth Deum et regem : quam ob rem eduxerunt eum extra civitatem, et lapidibus interfecerunt. (Ⅳ)
- ‫ 13 ׃21  ויבאו שני האנשים בני בליעל וישבו נגדו ויעדהו אנשי הבליעל את נבות נגד העם לאמר ברך נבות אלהים ומלך ויצאהו מחוץ לעיר ויסקלהו באבנים וימת ‬ (Ⅴ)
21. 14  
Et ils envoyèrent dire à Jézabel: Naboth a été lapidé, et il est mort.
- Then they sent to Jezebel, saying, Naboth is stoned, and is dead. (Ⅱ)
- Miseruntque ad Jezabel, dicentes : Lapidatus est Naboth, et mortuus est. (Ⅳ)
- ‫ 14 ׃21  וישלחו אל איזבל לאמר סקל נבות וימת ‬ (Ⅴ)
21. 15  
Lorsque Jézabel apprit que Naboth avait été lapidé et qu'il était mort, elle dit à Achab: Lève-toi, prends possession de la vigne de Naboth de Jizreel, qui a refusé de te la céder pour de l'argent; car Naboth n'est plus en vie, il est mort.
- And it came to pass, when Jezebel heard that Naboth was stoned, and was dead, that Jezebel said to Ahab, Arise, take possession of the vineyard of Naboth the Jezreelite, which he refused to give thee for money: for Naboth is not alive, but dead. (Ⅱ)
- Factum est autem, cum audisset Jezabel lapidatum Naboth et mortuum, locuta est ad Achab : Surge, et posside vineam Naboth Jezrahelitæ, qui noluit tibi acquiescere, et dare eam accepta pecunia : non enim vivit Naboth, sed mortuus est. (Ⅳ)
- ‫ 15 ׃21  ויהי כשמע איזבל כי סקל נבות וימת ותאמר איזבל אל אחאב קום רש את כרם נבות היזרעאלי אשר מאן לתת לך בכסף כי אין נבות חי כי מת ‬ (Ⅴ)
21. 16  
Achab, entendant que Naboth était mort, se leva pour descendre à la vigne de Naboth de Jizreel, afin d'en prendre possession.
- And it came to pass, when Ahab heard that Naboth was dead, that Ahab rose up to go down to the vineyard of Naboth the Jezreelite, to take possession of it. (Ⅱ)
- Quod cum audisset Achab, mortuum videlicet Naboth, surrexit, et descendebat in vineam Naboth Jezrahelitæ, ut possideret eam.\ (Ⅳ)
- ‫ 16 ׃21  ויהי כשמע אחאב כי מת נבות ויקם אחאב לרדת אל כרם נבות היזרעאלי לרשתו ס‬ (Ⅴ)
21. 17  
Alors la parole de l'Éternel fut adressée à Élie, le Thischbite, en ces mots:
- And the word of the LORD came to Elijah the Tishbite, saying, (Ⅱ)
- Factus est igitur sermo Domini ad Eliam Thesbiten, dicens : (Ⅳ)
- ‫ 17 ׃21  ויהי דבר יהוה אל אליהו התשבי לאמר ‬ (Ⅴ)
21. 18  
Lève-toi, descends au-devant d'Achab, roi d'Israël à Samarie; le voilà dans la vigne de Naboth, où il est descendu pour en prendre possession.
- Arise, go down to meet Ahab king of Israel, which is in Samaria: behold, he is in the vineyard of Naboth, whither he is gone down to possess it. (Ⅱ)
- Surge, et descende in occursum Achab regis Israël, qui est in Samaria : ecce ad vineam Naboth descendit, ut possideat eam. (Ⅳ)
- ‫ 18 ׃21  קום רד לקראת אחאב מלך ישראל אשר בשמרון הנה בכרם נבות אשר ירד שם לרשתו ‬ (Ⅴ)
21. 19  
Tu lui diras: Ainsi parle l'Éternel: N'es-tu pas un assassin et un voleur? Et tu lui diras: Ainsi parle l'Éternel: Au lieu même où les chiens ont léché le sang de Naboth, les chiens lécheront aussi ton propre sang.
- And thou shalt speak unto him, saying, Thus saith the LORD, Hast thou killed, and also taken possession? And thou shalt speak unto him, saying, Thus saith the LORD, In the place where dogs licked the blood of Naboth shall dogs lick thy blood, even thine. (Ⅱ)
- Et loqueris ad eum, dicens : Hæc dicit Dominus : Occidisti, insuper et possedisti. Et post hæc addes : Hæc dicit Dominus : In loco hoc, in quo linxerunt canes sanguinem Naboth, lambent quoque sanguinem tuum. (Ⅳ)
- ‫ 19 ׃21  ודברת אליו לאמר כה אמר יהוה הרצחת וגם ירשת ודברת אליו לאמר כה אמר יהוה במקום אשר לקקו הכלבים את דם נבות ילקו הכלבים את דמך גם אתה ‬ (Ⅴ)
21. 20  
Achab dit à Élie: M'as-tu trouvé, mon ennemi? Et il répondit: Je t'ai trouvé, parce que tu t'es vendu pour faire ce qui est mal aux yeux de l'Éternel.
- And Ahab said to Elijah, Hast thou found me, O mine enemy? And he answered, I have found thee: because thou hast sold thyself to work evil in the sight of the LORD. (Ⅱ)
- Et ait Achab ad Eliam : Num invenisti me inimicum tibi ? Qui dixit : Inveni, eo quod venundatus sis, ut faceres malum in conspectu Domini. (Ⅳ)
- ‫ 20 ׃21  ויאמר אחאב אל אליהו המצאתני איבי ויאמר מצאתי יען התמכרך לעשות הרע בעיני יהוה ‬ (Ⅴ)
21. 21  
Voici, je vais faire venir le malheur sur toi; je te balaierai, j'exterminerai quiconque appartient à Achab, celui qui est esclave et celui qui est libre en Israël,
- Behold, I will bring evil upon thee, and will take away thy posterity, and will cut off from Ahab him that pisseth against the wall, and him that is shut up and left in Israel, (Ⅱ)
- Ecce ego inducam super te malum, et demetam posteriora tua, et interficiam de Achab mingentem ad parietem, et clausum et ultimum in Israël. (Ⅳ)
- ‫ 21 ׃21  הנני *מבי **מביא אליך רעה ובערתי אחריך והכרתי לאחאב משתין בקיר ועצור ועזוב בישראל ‬ (Ⅴ)
21. 22  
et je rendrai ta maison semblable à la maison de Jéroboam, fils de Nebath, et à la maison de Baescha, fils d'Achija, parce que tu m'as irrité et que tu as fais pécher Israël.
- And will make thine house like the house of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, and like the house of Baasha the son of Ahijah, for the provocation wherewith thou hast provoked me to anger, and made Israel to sin. (Ⅱ)
- Et dabo domum tuam sicut domum Jeroboam filii Nabat, et sicut domum Baasa filii Ahia : quia egisti ut me ad iracundiam provocares, et peccare fecisti Israël. (Ⅳ)
- ‫ 22 ׃21  ונתתי את ביתך כבית ירבעם בן נבט וכבית בעשא בן אחיה אל הכעס אשר הכעסת ותחטא את ישראל ‬ (Ⅴ)
21. 23  
L'Éternel parle aussi sur Jézabel, et il dit: Les chiens mangeront Jézabel près du rempart de Jizreel.
- And of Jezebel also spake the LORD, saying, The dogs shall eat Jezebel by the wall of Jezreel. (Ⅱ)
- Sed et de Jezabel locutus est Dominus, dicens : Canes comedent Jezabel in agro Jezrahel. (Ⅳ)
- ‫ 23 ׃21  וגם לאיזבל דבר יהוה לאמר הכלבים יאכלו את איזבל בחל יזרעאל ‬ (Ⅴ)
21. 24  
Celui de la maison d'Achab qui mourra dans la ville sera mangé par les chiens, et celui qui mourra dans les champs sera mangé par les oiseaux du ciel.
- Him that dieth of Ahab in the city the dogs shall eat; and him that dieth in the field shall the fowls of the air eat. (Ⅱ)
- Si mortuus fuerit Achab in civitate, comedent eum canes : si autem mortuus fuerit in agro, comedent eum volucres cæli. (Ⅳ)
- ‫ 24 ׃21  המת לאחאב בעיר יאכלו הכלבים והמת בשדה יאכלו עוף השמים ‬ (Ⅴ)
21. 25  
Il n'y a eu personne qui se soit vendu comme Achab pour faire ce qui est mal aux yeux de l'Éternel, et Jézabel, sa femme, l'y excitait.
- But there was none like unto Ahab, which did sell himself to work wickedness in the sight of the LORD, whom Jezebel his wife stirred up. (Ⅱ)
- Igitur non fuit alter talis sicut Achab, qui venundatus est ut faceret malum in conspectu Domini : concitavit enim eum Jezabel uxor sua, (Ⅳ)
- ‫ 25 ׃21  רק לא היה כאחאב אשר התמכר לעשות הרע בעיני יהוה אשר הסתה אתו איזבל אשתו ‬ (Ⅴ)
21. 26  
Il a agi de la manière la plus abominable, en allant après les idoles, comme le faisaient les Amoréens, que l'Éternel chassa devant les enfants d'Israël.
- And he did very abominably in following idols, according to all things as did the Amorites, whom the LORD cast out before the children of Israel. (Ⅱ)
- et abominabilis factus est, in tantum ut sequeretur idola quæ fecerant Amorrhæi, quos consumpsit Dominus a facie filiorum Israël. (Ⅳ)
- ‫ 26 ׃21  ויתעב מאד ללכת אחרי הגללים ככל אשר עשו האמרי אשר הוריש יהוה מפני בני ישראל ס‬ (Ⅴ)
21. 27  
Après avoir entendu les paroles d'Élie, Achab déchira ses vêtements, il mit un sac sur son corps, et il jeûna; il couchait avec ce sac, et il marchait lentement.
- And it came to pass, when Ahab heard those words, that he rent his clothes, and put sackcloth upon his flesh, and fasted, and lay in sackcloth, and went softly. (Ⅱ)
- Itaque cum audisset Achab sermones istos, scidit vestimenta sua, et operuit cilicio carnem suam, jejunavitque et dormivit in sacco, et ambulavit demisso capite. (Ⅳ)
- ‫ 27 ׃21  ויהי כשמע אחאב את הדברים האלה ויקרע בגדיו וישם שק על בשרו ויצום וישכב בשק ויהלך אט ס‬ (Ⅴ)
21. 28  
Et la parole de l'Éternel fut adressée à Élie, le Thischbite, en ces mots:
- And the word of the LORD came to Elijah the Tishbite, saying, (Ⅱ)
- Et factus est sermo Domini ad Eliam Thesbiten, dicens : (Ⅳ)
- ‫ 28 ׃21  ויהי דבר יהוה אל אליהו התשבי לאמר ‬ (Ⅴ)
21. 29  
As-tu vu comment Achab s'est humilié devant moi? Parce qu'il s'est humilié devant moi, je ne ferai pas venir le malheur pendant sa vie; ce sera pendant la vie de son fils que je ferai venir le malheur sur sa maison.
- Seest thou how Ahab humbleth himself before me? because he humbleth himself before me, I will not bring the evil in his days: but in his son's days will I bring the evil upon his house. (Ⅱ)
- Nonne vidisti humiliatum Achab coram me ? quia igitur humiliatus est mei causa, non inducam malum in diebus ejus, sed in diebus filii sui inferam malum domui ejus. (Ⅳ)
- ‫ 29 ׃21  הראית כי נכנע אחאב מלפני יען כי נכנע מפני לא *אבי **אביא הרעה בימיו בימי בנו אביא הרעה על ביתו ‬ (Ⅴ)
