Car l'Éternel rétablit la gloire de Jacob Et la gloire d'Israël, Parce que les pillards les ont pillés Et ont détruit leurs ceps....
- For the LORD hath turned away the excellency of Jacob, as the excellency of Israel: for the emptiers have emptied them out, and marred their vine branches. Les boucliers de ses héros sont rouges, Les guerriers sont vêtus de pourpre; Avec le fer qui étincelle apparaissent les chars, Au jour qu'il a fixé pour la bataille, Et les lances sont agitées.
- The shield of his mighty men is made red, the valiant men are in scarlet: the chariots shall be with flaming torches in the day of his preparation, and the fir trees shall be terribly shaken. (Ⅱ) - ὅπλα δυναστείας αὐτω̃ν ἐξ ἀνθρώπων ἄνδρας δυνατοὺς ἐμπαίζοντας ἐν πυρί αἱ ἡνίαι τω̃ν ἁρμάτων αὐτω̃ν ἐν ἡμέρα̨ ἑτοιμασίας αὐτου̃ καὶ οἱ ἱππει̃ς θορυβηθήσονται (Ⅲ) - Clypeus fortium ejus ignitus,/ viri exercitus in coccineis ;/ igneæ habenæ currus in die præparationis ejus,/ et agitatores consopiti sunt./ (Ⅳ) - 4 ׃2 מגן גבריהו מאדם אנשי חיל מתלעים באש פלדות הרכב ביום הכינו והברשים הרעלו (Ⅴ)

Les chars s'élancent dans la campagne, Se précipitent sur les places; A les voir, on dirait des flambeaux, Ils courent comme des éclairs...
- The chariots shall rage in the streets, they shall justle one against another in the broad ways: they shall seem like torches, they shall run like the lightnings. (Ⅱ) - ἐν ται̃ς ὁδοι̃ς καὶ συγχυθήσονται τὰ ἅρματα καὶ συμπλακήσονται ἐν ται̃ς πλατείαις ἡ ὅρασις αὐτω̃ν ὡς λαμπάδες πυρὸς καὶ ὡς ἀστραπαὶ διατρέχουσαι (Ⅲ) - In itineribus conturbati sunt ;/ quadrigæ collisæ sunt in plateis :/ aspectus eorum quasi lampades,/ quasi fulgura discurrentia./ (Ⅳ) - 5 ׃2 בחוצות יתהוללו הרכב ישתקשקון ברחבות מראיהן כלפידם כברקים ירוצצו (Ⅴ)

Ils se souvient de ses vaillants hommes, Mais ils chancellent dans leur marche; On se hâte vers les murs, Et l'on se prépare à la défense....
- He shall recount his worthies: they shall stumble in their walk; they shall make haste to the wall thereof, and the defence shall be prepared. (Ⅱ) - καὶ μνησθήσονται οἱ μεγιστα̃νες αὐτω̃ν καὶ φεύξονται ἡμέρας καὶ ἀσθενήσουσιν ἐν τη̨̃ πορεία̨ αὐτω̃ν καὶ σπεύσουσιν ἐπὶ τὰ τείχη καὶ ἑτοιμάσουσιν τὰς προφυλακὰς αὐτω̃ν (Ⅲ) - Recordabitur fortium suorum ;/ ruent in itineribus suis :/ velociter ascendent muros ejus,/ et præparabitur umbraculum./ (Ⅳ) - 6 ׃2 יזכר אדיריו יכשלו *בהלכותם **בהליכתם ימהרו חומתה והכן הסכך (Ⅴ)

C'en est fait: elle est mise à nu, elle est emmenée; Ses servantes gémissent comme des colombes, Et se frappent la poitrine.
- And Huzzab shall be led away captive, she shall be brought up, and her maids shall lead her as with the voice of doves, tabering upon their breasts. Ninive était jadis comme un réservoir plein d'eau.... Les voilà qui fuient.... Arrêtez! arrêtez!... Mais nul ne se retourne....
- But Nineveh is of old like a pool of water: yet they shall flee away. Stand, stand, shall they cry; but none shall look back. (Ⅱ) - καὶ Νινευη ὡς κολυμβήθρα ὕδατος τὰ ὕδατα αὐτη̃ς καὶ αὐτοὶ φεύγοντες οὐκ ἔστησαν καὶ οὐκ ἠ̃ν ὁ ἐπιβλέπων (Ⅲ) - Et Ninive quasi piscina aquarum aquæ ejus ;/ ipsi vero fugerunt. State, state !/ et non est qui revertatur./ (Ⅳ) - 9 ׃2 ונינוה כברכת מים מימי היא והמה נסים עמדו עמדו ואין מפנה (Ⅴ)

Pillez l'argent! pillez l'or! Il y a des trésors sans fin, Des richesses en objets précieux de toutes espèce.
- Take ye the spoil of silver, take the spoil of gold: for there is none end of the store and glory out of all the pleasant furniture. (Ⅱ) - διήρπαζον τὸ ἀργύριον διήρπαζον τὸ χρυσίον καὶ οὐκ ἠ̃ν πέρας του̃ κόσμου αὐτη̃ς βεβάρυνται ὑπὲρ πάντα τὰ σκεύη τὰ ἐπιθυμητὰ αὐτη̃ς (Ⅲ) - Diripite argentum, diripite aurum :/ et non est finis divitiarum ex omnibus vasis desiderabilibus./ (Ⅳ) - 10 ׃2 בזו כסף בזו זהב ואין קצה לתכונה כבד מכל כלי חמדה (Ⅴ)

On pille, on dévaste, on ravage! Et les coeurs sont abattus, Les genoux chancellent, Tous les reins souffrent, Tous les visages pâlissent.
- She is empty, and void, and waste: and the heart melteth, and the knees smite together, and much pain is in all loins, and the faces of them all gather blackness. (Ⅱ) - ἐκτιναγμὸς καὶ ἀνατιναγμὸς καὶ ἐκβρασμὸς καὶ καρδίας θραυσμὸς καὶ ὑπόλυσις γονάτων καὶ ὠδι̃νες ἐπὶ πα̃σαν ὀσφύν καὶ τὸ πρόσωπον πάντων ὡς πρόσκαυμα χύτρας (Ⅲ) - Dissipata est, et scissa, et dilacerata ;/ et cor tabescens, et dissolutio geniculorum,/ et defectio in cunctis renibus,/ et facies omnium eorum sicut nigredo ollæ./ (Ⅳ) - 11 ׃2 בוקה ומבוקה ומבלקה ולב נמס ופק ברכים וחלחלה בכל מתנים ופני כלם קבצו פארור (Ⅴ)

Qu'est devenu ce repaire de lions, Ce pâturage des lionceaux, Où se retiraient le lion, la lionne, le petit du lion, Sans qu'il y eût personne pour les troubler?
- Where is the dwelling of the lions, and the feedingplace of the young lions, where the lion, even the old lion, walked, and the lion's whelp, and none made them afraid? (Ⅱ) - που̃ ἐστιν τὸ κατοικητήριον τω̃ν λεόντων καὶ ἡ νομὴ ἡ οὐ̃σα τοι̃ς σκύμνοις οὑ̃ ἐπορεύθη λέων του̃ εἰσελθει̃ν ἐκει̃ σκύμνος λέοντος καὶ οὐκ ἠ̃ν ὁ ἐκφοβω̃ν (Ⅲ) - Ubi est habitaculum leonum,/ et pascua catulorum leonum,/ ad quam ivit leo ut ingrederetur illuc catulus leonis,/ et non est qui exterreat ?/ (Ⅳ) - 12 ׃2 איה מעון אריות ומרעה הוא לכפרים אשר הלך אריה לביא שם גור אריה ואין מחריד (Ⅴ)

Le lion déchirait pour ses petits, Étranglait pour ses lionnes; Il remplissait de proie ses antres, De dépouilles ses repaires.
- The lion did tear in pieces enough for his whelps, and strangled for his lionesses, and filled his holes with prey, and his dens with ravin. (Ⅱ) - λέων ἥρπασεν τὰ ἱκανὰ τοι̃ς σκύμνοις αὐτου̃ καὶ ἀπέπνιξεν τοι̃ς λέουσιν αὐτου̃ καὶ ἔπλησεν θήρας νοσσιὰν αὐτου̃ καὶ τὸ κατοικητήριον αὐτου̃ ἁρπαγη̃ς (Ⅲ) - Leo cepit sufficienter catulis suis,/ et necavit leænis suis,/ et implevit præda speluncas suas,/ et cubile suum rapina./ (Ⅳ) - 13 ׃2 אריה טרף בדי גרותיו ומחנק ללבאתיו וימלא טרף חריו ומענתיו טרפה (Ⅴ)

Voici, j'en veux à toi, dit l'Éternel des armées; Je réduirai tes chars en fumée, L'épée dévorera tes lionceaux, J'arracherai du pays ta proie, Et l'on n'entendra plus la voix de tes messagers.
- Behold, I am against thee, saith the LORD of hosts, and I will burn her chariots in the smoke, and the sword shall devour thy young lions: and I will cut off thy prey from the earth, and the voice of thy messengers shall no more be heard. (Ⅱ) - ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ ἐπὶ σέ λέγει κύριος παντοκράτωρ καὶ ἐκκαύσω ἐν καπνω̨̃ πλη̃θός σου καὶ τοὺς λέοντάς σου καταφάγεται ῥομφαία καὶ ἐξολεθρεύσω ἐκ τη̃ς γη̃ς τὴν θήραν σου καὶ οὐ μὴ ἀκουσθη̨̃ οὐκέτι τὰ ἔργα σου (Ⅲ) - Ecce ego ad te, dicit Dominus exercituum,/ et succendam usque ad fumum quadrigas tuas,/ et leunculos tuos comedet gladius,/ et exterminabo de terra prædam tuam,/ et non audietur ultra vox nuntiorum tuorum.] (Ⅳ) - 14 ׃2 הנני אליך נאם יהוה צבאות והבערתי בעשן רכבה וכפיריך תאכל חרב והכרתי מארץ טרפך ולא ישמע עוד קול מלאככה ס (Ⅴ)
