2. 1  
Unto the angel of the church of Ephesus write; These things saith he that holdeth the seven stars in his right hand, who walketh in the midst of the seven golden candlesticks;
- Écris à l'ange de l'Église d'Éphèse: Voici ce que dit celui qui tient les sept étoiles dans sa main droite, celui qui marche au milieu des sept chandeliers d'or: (Ⅱ)
- Τῷ ἀγγέλῳ ⸀τῆς ἐν Ἐφέσῳ ἐκκλησίας γράψον· Τάδε λέγει ὁ κρατῶν τοὺς ἑπτὰ ἀστέρας ἐν τῇ δεξιᾷ αὐτοῦ, ὁ περιπατῶν ἐν μέσῳ τῶν ἑπτὰ λυχνιῶν τῶν χρυσῶν· (Ⅲ)
- Angelo Ephesi ecclesiæ scribe : Hæc dicit, qui tenet septem stellas in dextera sua, qui ambulat in medio septem candelabrorum aureorum : (Ⅳ)
2. 2  
I know thy works, and thy labour, and thy patience, and how thou canst not bear them which are evil: and thou hast tried them which say they are apostles, and are not, and hast found them liars:
- Je connais tes oeuvres, ton travail, et ta persévérance. Je sais que tu ne peux supporter les méchants; que tu as éprouvé ceux qui se disent apôtres et qui ne le sont pas, et que tu les as trouvés menteurs; (Ⅱ)
- Οἶδα τὰ ἔργα σου, καὶ τὸν ⸀κόπον καὶ τὴν ὑπομονήν σου, καὶ ὅτι οὐ δύνῃ βαστάσαι κακούς, καὶ ἐπείρασας τοὺς λέγοντας ἑαυτοὺς ⸀ἀποστόλους, καὶ οὐκ εἰσίν, καὶ εὗρες αὐτοὺς ψευδεῖς· (Ⅲ)
- Scio opera tua, et laborem, et patientiam tuam, et quia non potes sustinere malos : et tentasti eos, qui se dicunt apostolos esse, et non sunt : et invenisti eos mendaces : (Ⅳ)
2. 3  
And hast borne, and hast patience, and for my name's sake hast laboured, and hast not fainted.
- que tu as de la persévérance, que tu as souffert à cause de mon nom, et que tu ne t'es point lassé. (Ⅱ)
- καὶ ὑπομονὴν ἔχεις, καὶ ἐβάστασας διὰ τὸ ὄνομά μου, καὶ ⸂οὐ κεκοπίακες⸃. (Ⅲ)
- et patientiam habes, et sustinuisti propter nomen meum, et non defecisti. (Ⅳ)
2. 4  
Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love.
- Mais ce que j'ai contre toi, c'est que tu as abandonné ton premier amour. (Ⅱ)
- ἀλλὰ ἔχω κατὰ σοῦ ὅτι τὴν ἀγάπην σου τὴν πρώτην ἀφῆκες. (Ⅲ)
- Sed habeo adversum te, quod caritatem tuam primam reliquisti. (Ⅳ)
2. 5  
Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.
- Souviens-toi donc d'où tu es tombé, repens-toi, et pratique tes premières oeuvres; sinon, je viendrai à toi, et j'ôterai ton chandelier de sa place, à moins que tu ne te repentes. (Ⅱ)
- μνημόνευε οὖν πόθεν ⸀πέπτωκας, καὶ μετανόησον καὶ τὰ πρῶτα ἔργα ποίησον· εἰ δὲ μή, ἔρχομαί ⸀σοι, καὶ κινήσω τὴν λυχνίαν σου ἐκ τοῦ τόπου αὐτῆς, ἐὰν μὴ μετανοήσῃς. (Ⅲ)
- Memor esto itaque unde excideris : et age pœnitentiam, et prima opera fac : sin autem, venio tibi, et movebo candelabrum tuum de loco suo, nisi pœnitentiam egeris. (Ⅳ)
2. 6  
But this thou hast, that thou hatest the deeds of the Nicolaitanes, which I also hate.
- Tu as pourtant ceci, c'est que tu hais les oeuvres des Nicolaïtes, oeuvres que je hais aussi. (Ⅱ)
- ἀλλὰ τοῦτο ἔχεις ὅτι μισεῖς τὰ ἔργα τῶν Νικολαϊτῶν, ἃ κἀγὼ μισῶ. (Ⅲ)
- Sed hoc habes, quia odisti facta Nicolaitarum, quæ et ego odi. (Ⅳ)
2. 7  
He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God.
- Que celui qui a des oreilles entende ce que l'Esprit dit aux Églises: A celui qui vaincra je donnerai à manger de l'arbre de vie, qui est dans le paradis de Dieu. (Ⅱ)
- ὁ ἔχων οὖς ἀκουσάτω τί τὸ πνεῦμα λέγει ταῖς ἐκκλησίαις. τῷ νικῶντι δώσω αὐτῷ φαγεῖν ἐκ τοῦ ξύλου τῆς ζωῆς, ὅ ἐστιν ἐν τῷ παραδείσῳ τοῦ ⸀θεοῦ. (Ⅲ)
- Qui habet aurem, audiat quid Spiritus dicat ecclesiis : Vincenti dabo edere de ligno vitæ, quod est in paradiso Dei mei.\ (Ⅳ)
2. 8  
And unto the angel of the church in Smyrna write; These things saith the first and the last, which was dead, and is alive;
- Écris à l'ange de l'Église de Smyrne: Voici ce que dit le premier et le dernier, celui qui était mort, et qui est revenu à la vie: (Ⅱ)
- Καὶ τῷ ἀγγέλῳ ⸀τῆς ἐν Σμύρνῃ ἐκκλησίας γράψον· Τάδε λέγει ὁ πρῶτος καὶ ὁ ἔσχατος, ὃς ἐγένετο νεκρὸς καὶ ἔζησεν· (Ⅲ)
- Et angelo Smyrnæ ecclesiæ scribe : Hæc dicit primus, et novissimus, qui fuit mortuus, et vivit : (Ⅳ)
2. 9  
I know thy works, and tribulation, and poverty, (but thou art rich) and I know the blasphemy of them which say they are Jews, and are not, but are the synagogue of Satan.
- Je connais ta tribulation et ta pauvreté (bien que tu sois riche), et les calomnies de la part de ceux qui se disent Juifs et ne le sont pas, mais qui sont une synagogue de Satan. (Ⅱ)
- Οἶδά ⸀σου τὴν θλῖψιν καὶ τὴν πτωχείαν, ἀλλὰ πλούσιος εἶ, καὶ τὴν βλασφημίαν ἐκ τῶν λεγόντων Ἰουδαίους εἶναι ἑαυτούς, καὶ οὐκ εἰσίν, ἀλλὰ συναγωγὴ τοῦ Σατανᾶ. (Ⅲ)
- Scio tribulationem tuam, et paupertatem tuam, sed dives es : et blasphemaris ab his, qui se dicunt Judæos esse, et non sunt, sed sunt synagoga Satanæ. (Ⅳ)
2. 10  
Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer: behold, the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days: be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life.
- Ne crains pas ce que tu vas souffrir. Voici, le diable jettera quelques-uns de vous en prison, afin que vous soyez éprouvés, et vous aurez une tribulation de dix jours. Sois fidèle jusqu'à la mort, et je te donnerai la couronne de vie. (Ⅱ)
- ⸀μηδὲν φοβοῦ ἃ μέλλεις ⸀πάσχειν. ⸀ἰδοὺ μέλλει ⸀βάλλειν ὁ διάβολος ἐξ ὑμῶν εἰς φυλακὴν ἵνα πειρασθῆτε, καὶ ⸀ἕξετε θλῖψιν ἡμερῶν δέκα. γίνου πιστὸς ἄχρι θανάτου, καὶ δώσω σοι τὸν στέφανον τῆς ζωῆς. (Ⅲ)
- Nihil horum timeas quæ passurus es. Ecce missurus est diabolus aliquos ex vobis in carcerem ut tentemini : et habebitis tribulationem diebus decem. Esto fidelis usque ad mortem, et dabo tibi coronam vitæ. (Ⅳ)
2. 11  
He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; He that overcometh shall not be hurt of the second death.
- Que celui qui a des oreilles entende ce que l'Esprit dit aux Églises: Celui qui vaincra n'aura pas à souffrir la seconde mort. (Ⅱ)
- ὁ ἔχων οὖς ἀκουσάτω τί τὸ πνεῦμα λέγει ταῖς ἐκκλησίαις. ὁ νικῶν οὐ μὴ ἀδικηθῇ ἐκ τοῦ θανάτου τοῦ δευτέρου. (Ⅲ)
- Qui habet aurem, audiat quid Spiritus dicat ecclesiis : Qui vicerit, non lædetur a morte secunda.\ (Ⅳ)
2. 12  
And to the angel of the church in Pergamos write; These things saith he which hath the sharp sword with two edges;
- Écris à l'ange de l'Église de Pergame: Voici ce que dit celui qui a l'épée aiguë, à deux tranchants: (Ⅱ)
- Καὶ τῷ ἀγγέλῳ τῆς ἐν Περγάμῳ ἐκκλησίας γράψον· Τάδε λέγει ὁ ἔχων τὴν ῥομφαίαν τὴν δίστομον τὴν ὀξεῖαν· (Ⅲ)
- Et angelo Pergami ecclesiæ scribe : Hæc dicit qui habet rhomphæam utraque parte acutam : (Ⅳ)
2. 13  
I know thy works, and where thou dwellest, even where Satan's seat is: and thou holdest fast my name, and hast not denied my faith, even in those days wherein Antipas was my faithful martyr, who was slain among you, where Satan dwelleth.
- Je sais où tu demeures, je sais que là est le trône de Satan. Tu retiens mon nom, et tu n'as pas renié ma foi, même aux jours d'Antipas, mon témoin fidèle, qui a été mis à mort chez vous, là où Satan a sa demeure. (Ⅱ)
- ⸀Οἶδα ποῦ κατοικεῖς, ὅπου ὁ θρόνος τοῦ Σατανᾶ, καὶ κρατεῖς τὸ ὄνομά μου, καὶ οὐκ ἠρνήσω τὴν πίστιν μου ⸀καὶ ἐν ταῖς ⸀ἡμέραις Ἀντιπᾶς, ὁ μάρτυς μου, ὁ πιστός ⸀μου, ὃς ἀπεκτάνθη παρ’ ὑμῖν, ὅπου ὁ Σατανᾶς κατοικεῖ. (Ⅲ)
- Scio ubi habitas, ubi sedes est Satanæ : et tenes nomen meum, et non negasti fidem meam. Et in diebus illis Antipas testis meus fidelis, qui occisus est apud vos ubi Satanas habitat. (Ⅳ)
2. 14  
But I have a few things against thee, because thou hast there them that hold the doctrine of Balaam, who taught Balac to cast a stumblingblock before the children of Israel, to eat things sacrificed unto idols, and to commit fornication.
- Mais j'ai quelque chose contre toi, c'est que tu as là des gens attachés à la doctrine de Balaam, qui enseignait à Balak à mettre une pierre d'achoppement devant les fils d'Israël, pour qu'ils mangeassent des viandes sacrifiées aux idoles et qu'ils se livrassent à l'impudicité. (Ⅱ)
- ἀλλὰ ἔχω κατὰ σοῦ ὀλίγα, ὅτι ἔχεις ἐκεῖ κρατοῦντας τὴν διδαχὴν Βαλαάμ, ὃς ⸂ἐδίδασκεν τῷ⸃ Βαλὰκ βαλεῖν σκάνδαλον ἐνώπιον τῶν υἱῶν Ἰσραήλ, ⸀φαγεῖν εἰδωλόθυτα καὶ πορνεῦσαι· (Ⅲ)
- Sed habeo adversus te pauca : quia habes illic tenentes doctrinam Balaam, qui docebat Balac mittere scandalum coram filiis Israël, edere, et fornicari : (Ⅳ)
2. 15  
So hast thou also them that hold the doctrine of the Nicolaitanes, which thing I hate.
- De même, toi aussi, tu as des gens attachés pareillement à la doctrine des Nicolaïtes. (Ⅱ)
- οὕτως ἔχεις καὶ σὺ κρατοῦντας τὴν ⸀διδαχὴν Νικολαϊτῶν ὁμοίως. (Ⅲ)
- ita habes et tu tenentes doctrinam Nicolaitarum. (Ⅳ)
2. 16  
Repent; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will fight against them with the sword of my mouth.
- Repens-toi donc; sinon, je viendrai à toi bientôt, et je les combattrai avec l'épée de ma bouche. (Ⅱ)
- μετανόησον οὖν· εἰ δὲ μή, ἔρχομαί σοι ταχύ, καὶ πολεμήσω μετ’ αὐτῶν ἐν τῇ ῥομφαίᾳ τοῦ στόματός μου. (Ⅲ)
- Similiter pœnitentiam age : si quominus veniam tibi cito, et pugnabo cum illis in gladio oris mei. (Ⅳ)
2. 17  
He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the hidden manna, and will give him a white stone, and in the stone a new name written, which no man knoweth saving he that receiveth it.
- Que celui qui a des oreilles entende ce que l'Esprit dit aux Églises: A celui qui vaincra je donnerai de la manne cachée, et je lui donnerai un caillou blanc; et sur ce caillou est écrit un nom nouveau, que personne ne connaît, si ce n'est celui qui le reçoit. (Ⅱ)
- ὁ ἔχων οὖς ἀκουσάτω τί τὸ πνεῦμα λέγει ταῖς ἐκκλησίαις. τῷ νικῶντι δώσω ⸀αὐτῷ τοῦ μάννα τοῦ κεκρυμμένου, καὶ δώσω αὐτῷ ψῆφον λευκήν, καὶ ἐπὶ τὴν ψῆφον ὄνομα καινὸν γεγραμμένον ὃ οὐδεὶς οἶδεν εἰ μὴ ὁ λαμβάνων. (Ⅲ)
- Qui habet aurem, audiat quid Spiritus dicat ecclesiis : Vincenti dabo manna absconditum, et dabo illi calculum candidum : et in calculo nomen novum scriptum, quod nemo scit, nisi qui accipit.\ (Ⅳ)
2. 18  
And unto the angel of the church in Thyatira write; These things saith the Son of God, who hath his eyes like unto a flame of fire, and his feet are like fine brass;
- Écris à l'ange de l'Église de Thyatire: Voici ce que dit le Fils de Dieu, celui qui a les yeux comme une flamme de feu, et dont les pieds sont semblables à de l'airain ardent: (Ⅱ)
- Καὶ τῷ ἀγγέλῳ ⸀τῆς ἐν Θυατείροις ἐκκλησίας γράψον· Τάδε λέγει ὁ υἱὸς τοῦ θεοῦ, ὁ ἔχων τοὺς ὀφθαλμοὺς αὐτοῦ ὡς φλόγα πυρός, καὶ οἱ πόδες αὐτοῦ ὅμοιοι χαλκολιβάνῳ· (Ⅲ)
- Et angelo Thyatiræ ecclesiæ scribe : Hæc dicit Filius Dei, qui habet oculos tamquam flammam ignis, et pedes ejus similes auricalco : (Ⅳ)
2. 19  
I know thy works, and charity, and service, and faith, and thy patience, and thy works; and the last to be more than the first.
- Je connais tes oeuvres, ton amour, ta foi, ton fidèle service, ta constance, et tes dernières oeuvres plus nombreuses que les premières. (Ⅱ)
- Οἶδά σου τὰ ἔργα, καὶ τὴν ⸂ἀγάπην καὶ τὴν πίστιν⸃ καὶ τὴν διακονίαν καὶ τὴν ὑπομονήν σου, καὶ τὰ ἔργα σου τὰ ἔσχατα πλείονα τῶν πρώτων. (Ⅲ)
- Novi opera tua, et fidem, et caritatem tuam, et ministerium, et patientiam tuam, et opera tua novissima plura prioribus. (Ⅳ)
2. 20  
Notwithstanding I have a few things against thee, because thou sufferest that woman Jezebel, which calleth herself a prophetess, to teach and to seduce my servants to commit fornication, and to eat things sacrificed unto idols.
- Mais ce que j'ai contre toi, c'est que tu laisses la femme Jézabel, qui se dit prophétesse, enseigner et séduire mes serviteurs, pour qu'ils se livrent à l'impudicité et qu'ils mangent des viandes sacrifiées aux idoles. (Ⅱ)
- ἀλλὰ ἔχω κατὰ σοῦ ὅτι ἀφεῖς τὴν ⸀γυναῖκα Ἰεζάβελ, ἡ ⸀λέγουσα ἑαυτὴν προφῆτιν, καὶ διδάσκει καὶ πλανᾷ τοὺς ἐμοὺς δούλους πορνεῦσαι καὶ φαγεῖν εἰδωλόθυτα. (Ⅲ)
- Sed habeo adversus te pauca : quia permittis mulierem Jezabel, quæ se dicit propheten, docere, et seducere servos meos, fornicari, et manducare de idolothytis. (Ⅳ)
2. 21  
And I gave her space to repent of her fornication; and she repented not.
- Je lui ai donné du temps, afin qu'elle se repentît, et elle ne veut pas se repentir de son impudicité. (Ⅱ)
- καὶ ἔδωκα αὐτῇ χρόνον ἵνα μετανοήσῃ, καὶ οὐ θέλει μετανοῆσαι ἐκ τῆς πορνείας αὐτῆς. (Ⅲ)
- Et dedi illi tempus ut pœnitentiam ageret : et non vult pœnitere a fornicatione sua. (Ⅳ)
2. 22  
Behold, I will cast her into a bed, and them that commit adultery with her into great tribulation, except they repent of their deeds.
- Voici, je vais la jeter sur un lit, et envoyer une grande tribulation à ceux qui commettent adultère avec elle, à moins qu'ils ne se repentent de leurs oeuvres. (Ⅱ)
- ἰδοὺ βάλλω αὐτὴν εἰς κλίνην, καὶ τοὺς μοιχεύοντας μετ’ αὐτῆς εἰς θλῖψιν μεγάλην, ἐὰν μὴ ⸀μετανοήσωσιν ἐκ τῶν ἔργων αὐτῆς· (Ⅲ)
- Ecce mittam eam in lectum : et qui mœchantur cum ea, in tribulatione maxima erunt, nisi pœnitentiam ab operibus suis egerint. (Ⅳ)
2. 23  
And I will kill her children with death; and all the churches shall know that I am he which searcheth the reins and hearts: and I will give unto every one of you according to your works.
- Je ferai mourir de mort ses enfants; et toutes les Églises connaîtront que je suis celui qui sonde les reins et les coeurs, et je vous rendrai à chacun selon vos oeuvres. (Ⅱ)
- καὶ τὰ τέκνα αὐτῆς ἀποκτενῶ ἐν θανάτῳ· καὶ γνώσονται πᾶσαι αἱ ἐκκλησίαι ὅτι ἐγώ εἰμι ὁ ἐραυνῶν νεφροὺς καὶ καρδίας, καὶ δώσω ὑμῖν ἑκάστῳ κατὰ τὰ ἔργα ὑμῶν. (Ⅲ)
- Et filios ejus interficiam in morte, et scient omnes ecclesiæ, quia ego sum scrutans renes, et corda : et dabo unicuique vestrum secundum opera sua. Vobis autem dico, (Ⅳ)
2. 24  
But unto you I say, and unto the rest in Thyatira, as many as have not this doctrine, and which have not known the depths of Satan, as they speak; I will put upon you none other burden.
- A vous, à tous les autres de Thyatire, qui ne reçoivent pas cette doctrine, et qui n'ont pas connu les profondeurs de Satan, comme ils les appellent, je vous dis: Je ne mets pas sur vous d'autre fardeau; (Ⅱ)
- ὑμῖν δὲ λέγω τοῖς λοιποῖς τοῖς ἐν Θυατείροις, ὅσοι οὐκ ἔχουσιν τὴν διδαχὴν ταύτην, οἵτινες οὐκ ἔγνωσαν τὰ βαθέα τοῦ Σατανᾶ, ὡς λέγουσιν, οὐ βάλλω ἐφ’ ὑμᾶς ἄλλο βάρος· (Ⅲ)
- et ceteris qui Thyatiræ estis : quicumque non habent doctrinam hanc, et qui non cognoverunt altitudines Satanæ, quemadmodum dicunt, non mittam super vos aliud pondus : (Ⅳ)
2. 25  
But that which ye have already hold fast till I come.
- seulement, ce que vous avez, retenez-le jusqu'à ce que je vienne. (Ⅱ)
- πλὴν ὃ ἔχετε κρατήσατε ἄχρι οὗ ἂν ἥξω. (Ⅲ)
- tamen id quod habetis, tenete donec veniam. (Ⅳ)
2. 26  
And he that overcometh, and keepeth my works unto the end, to him will I give power over the nations:
- A celui qui vaincra, et qui gardera jusqu'à la fin mes oeuvres, je donnerai autorité sur les nations. (Ⅱ)
- καὶ ὁ νικῶν καὶ ὁ τηρῶν ἄχρι τέλους τὰ ἔργα μου, δώσω αὐτῷ ἐξουσίαν ἐπὶ τῶν ἐθνῶν, (Ⅲ)
- Et qui vicerit, et custodierit usque in finem opera mea, dabo illi potestatem super gentes, (Ⅳ)
2. 27  
And he shall rule them with a rod of iron; as the vessels of a potter shall they be broken to shivers: even as I received of my Father.
- Il les paîtra avec une verge de fer, comme on brise les vases d'argile, ainsi que moi-même j'en ai reçu le pouvoir de mon Père. (Ⅱ)
- καὶ ποιμανεῖ αὐτοὺς ἐν ῥάβδῳ σιδηρᾷ ὡς τὰ σκεύη τὰ κεραμικὰ ⸀συντρίβεται, (Ⅲ)
- et reget eas in virga ferrea, et tamquam vas figuli confringentur, (Ⅳ)
2. 28  
And I will give him the morning star.
- Et je lui donnerai l'étoile du matin. (Ⅱ)
- ὡς κἀγὼ εἴληφα παρὰ τοῦ πατρός μου, καὶ δώσω αὐτῷ τὸν ἀστέρα τὸν πρωϊνόν. (Ⅲ)
- sicut et ego accepi a Patre meo : et dabo illi stellam matutinam. (Ⅳ)
2. 29  
He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.
- Que celui qui a des oreilles entende ce que l'Esprit dit aux Églises! (Ⅱ)
- ὁ ἔχων οὖς ἀκουσάτω τί τὸ πνεῦμα λέγει ταῖς ἐκκλησίαις. (Ⅲ)
- Qui habet aurem, audiat quid Spiritus dicat ecclesiis. (Ⅳ)
