15. 1

Quelque temps après, à l'époque de la moisson des blés, Samson alla voir sa femme, et lui porta un chevreau. Il dit: Je veux entrer vers ma femme dans sa chambre. Mais le père de sa femme ne lui permit pas d'entrer.

- But it came to pass within a while after, in the time of wheat harvest, that Samson visited his wife with a kid; and he said, I will go in to my wife into the chamber. But her father would not suffer him to go in. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐγένετο μεθ' ἡμέρας ἐν ἡμέραις θερισμου̃ πυρω̃ν καὶ ἐπεσκέψατο Σαμψων τὴν γυναι̃κα αὐτου̃ ἐν ἐρίφω̨ αἰγω̃ν καὶ εἰ̃πεν εἰσελεύσομαι πρὸς τὴν γυναι̃κά μου εἰς τὸ ταμιει̃ον καὶ οὐκ ἔδωκεν αὐτὸν ὁ πατὴρ αὐτη̃ς εἰσελθει̃ν (Ⅲ)

- Post aliquantulum autem temporis, cum dies triticeæ messis instarent, venit Samson, invisere volens uxorem suam, et attulit ei hædum de capris. Cumque cubiculum ejus solito vellet intrare, prohibuit eum pater illius, dicens : (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 1 ׃15 ויהי מימים בימי קציר חטים ויפקד שמשון את אשתו בגדי עזים ויאמר אבאה אל אשתי החדרה ולא נתנו אביה לבוא ‬ (Ⅴ)

15. 2

J'ai pensé dit-il, que tu avais pour elle de la haine, et je l'ai donnée à ton compagnon. Est-ce que sa jeune soeur n'est pas plus belle qu'elle? Prends-la donc à sa place.

- And her father said, I verily thought that thou hadst utterly hated her; therefore I gave her to thy companion: is not her younger sister fairer than she? take her, I pray thee, instead of her. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ εἰ̃πεν ὁ πατὴρ αὐτη̃ς λέγων εἰ̃πα ὅτι μισω̃ν ἐμίσησας αὐτήν καὶ ἔδωκα αὐτὴν ἑνὶ τω̃ν ἐκ τω̃ν φίλων σου μὴ οὐχὶ ἡ ἀδελφὴ αὐτη̃ς ἡ νεωτέρα αὐτη̃ς ἀγαθωτέρα ὑπὲρ αὐτήν ἔστω δή σοι ἀντὶ αὐτη̃ς (Ⅲ)

- Putavi quod odisses eam, et ideo tradidi illam amico tuo : sed habet sororem, quæ junior et pulchrior illa est : sit tibi pro ea uxor. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 2 ׃15 ויאמר אביה אמר אמרתי כי שנא שנאתה ואתננה למרעך הלא אחתה הקטנה טובה ממנה תהי נא לך תחתיה ‬ (Ⅴ)

15. 3

Samson leur dit: Cette fois je ne serai pas coupable envers les Philistins, si je leur fais du mal.

- And Samson said concerning them, Now shall I be more blameless than the Philistines, though I do them a displeasure. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ εἰ̃πεν αὐτοι̃ς Σαμψων ἠθώ̨ωμαι καὶ τὸ ἅπαξ ἀπὸ ἀλλοφύλων ὅτι ποιω̃ ἐγὼ μετ' αὐτω̃ν πονηρίαν (Ⅲ)

- Cui Samson respondit : Ab hac die non erit culpa in me contra Philisthæos : faciam enim vobis mala. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 3 ׃15 ויאמר להם שמשון נקיתי הפעם מפלשתים כי עשה אני עמם רעה ‬ (Ⅴ)

15. 4

Samson s'en alla. Il attrapa trois cents renards, et prit des flambeaux; puis il tourna queue contre queue, et mit un flambeau entre deux queues, au milieu.

- And Samson went and caught three hundred foxes, and took firebrands, and turned tail to tail, and put a firebrand in the midst between two tails. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐπορεύθη Σαμψων καὶ συνέλαβεν τριακοσίας ἀλώπεκας καὶ ἔλαβεν λαμπάδας καὶ ἐπέστρεψεν κέρκον πρὸς κέρκον καὶ ἔθηκεν λαμπάδα μίαν ἀνὰ μέσον τω̃ν δύο κέρκων καὶ ἔδησεν (Ⅲ)

- Perrexitque et cepit trecentas vulpes, caudasque earum junxit ad caudas, et faces ligavit in medio : (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 4 ׃15 וילך שמשון וילכד שלש מאות שועלים ויקח לפדים ויפן זנב אל זנב וישם לפיד אחד בין שני הזנבות בתוך ‬ (Ⅴ)

15. 5

Il alluma les flambeaux, lâcha les renards dans les blés des Philistins, et embrasa les tas de gerbes, le blé sur pied, et jusqu'aux plantations d'oliviers.

- And when he had set the brands on fire, he let them go into the standing corn of the Philistines, and burnt up both the shocks, and also the standing corn, with the vineyards and olives. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐξέκαυσεν πυ̃ρ ἐν ται̃ς λαμπάσιν καὶ ἐξαπέστειλεν ἐν τοι̃ς στάχυσιν τω̃ν ἀλλοφύλων καὶ ἐκάησαν ἀπὸ ἅλωνος καὶ ἕως σταχύων ὀρθω̃ν καὶ ἕως ἀμπελω̃νος καὶ ἐλαίας (Ⅲ)

- quas igne succendens, dimisit ut huc illucque discurrerent. Quæ statim perrexerunt in segetes Philisthinorum. Quibus succensis, et comportatæ jam fruges, et adhuc stantes in stipula, concrematæ sunt, in tantum ut vineas quoque et oliveta flamma consumeret. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 5 ׃15 ויבער אש בלפידים וישלח בקמות פלשתים ויבער מגדיש ועד קמה ועד כרם זית ‬ (Ⅴ)

15. 6

Les Philistins dirent: Qui a fait cela? On répondit: Samson, le gendre du Thimnien, parce que celui-ci lui a pris sa femme et l'a donnée à son compagnon. Et les Philistins montèrent, et ils la brûlèrent, elle et son père.

- Then the Philistines said, Who hath done this? And they answered, Samson, the son in law of the Timnite, because he had taken his wife, and given her to his companion. And the Philistines came up, and burnt her and her father with fire. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ εἰ̃παν οἱ ἀλλόφυλοι τίς ἐποίησεν ταυ̃τα καὶ εἰ̃παν Σαμψων ὁ νυμφίος του̃ Θαμνι ὅτι ἔλαβεν τὴν γυναι̃κα αὐτου̃ καὶ ἔδωκεν αὐτὴν τω̨̃ ἐκ τω̃ν φίλων αὐτου̃ καὶ ἀνέβησαν οἱ ἀλλόφυλοι καὶ ἐνέπρησαν αὐτὴν καὶ τὸν πατέρα αὐτη̃ς ἐν πυρί (Ⅲ)

- Dixeruntque Philisthiim : Quis fecit hanc rem ? Quibus dictum est : Samson gener Thamnathæi : quia tulit uxorem ejus, et alteri tradidit, hæc operatus est. Ascenderuntque Philisthiim, et combusserunt tam mulierem quam patrem ejus. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 6 ׃15 ויאמרו פלשתים מי עשה זאת ויאמרו שמשון חתן התמני כי לקח את אשתו ויתנה למרעהו ויעלו פלשתים וישרפו אותה ואת אביה באש ‬ (Ⅴ)

15. 7

Samson leur dit: Est-ce ainsi que vous agissez? Je ne cesserai qu'après m'être vengé de vous.

- And Samson said unto them, Though ye have done this, yet will I be avenged of you, and after that I will cease. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ εἰ̃πεν αὐτοι̃ς Σαμψων ἐὰν ποιήσητε οὕτως ταύτην ὅτι εἰ μὴν ἐκδικήσω ἐν ὑμι̃ν καὶ ἔσχατον κοπάσω (Ⅲ)

- Quibus ait Samson : Licet hæc feceritis, tamen adhuc ex vobis expetam ultionem, et tunc quiescam. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 7 ׃15 ויאמר להם שמשון אם תעשון כזאת כי אם נקמתי בכם ואחר אחדל ‬ (Ⅴ)

15. 8

Il les battit rudement, dos et ventre; puis il descendit, et se retira dans la caverne du rocher d'Étam.

- And he smote them hip and thigh with a great slaughter: and he went down and dwelt in the top of the rock Etam. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐπάταξεν αὐτοὺς κνήμην ἐπὶ μηρὸν πληγὴν μεγάλην καὶ κατέβη καὶ ἐκάθισεν ἐν τρυμαλια̨̃ τη̃ς πέτρας Ηταμ (Ⅲ)

- Percussitque eos ingenti plaga, ita ut stupentes suram femori imponerent. Et descendens habitavit in spelunca petræ Etam. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 8 ׃15 ויך אותם שוק על ירך מכה גדולה וירד וישב בסעיף סלע עיטם ס‬ (Ⅴ)

15. 9

Alors les Philistins se mirent en marche, campèrent en Juda, et s'étendirent jusqu'à Léchi.

- Then the Philistines went up, and pitched in Judah, and spread themselves in Lehi. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἀνέβησαν οἱ ἀλλόφυλοι καὶ παρενέβαλον ἐν Ιουδα καὶ ἐξερρίφησαν ἐν Λευι (Ⅲ)

- Igitur ascendentes Philisthiim in terram Juda, castrametati sunt in loco, qui postea vocatus est Lechi, id est, Maxilla, ubi eorum effusus est exercitus. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 9 ׃15 ויעלו פלשתים ויחנו ביהודה וינטשו בלחי ‬ (Ⅴ)

15. 10

Les hommes de Juda dirent: Pourquoi êtes-vous montés contre nous? Ils répondirent: Nous sommes montés pour lier Samson, afin de le traiter comme il nous a traités.

- And the men of Judah said, Why are ye come up against us? And they answered, To bind Samson are we come up, to do to him as he hath done to us. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ εἰ̃παν ἀνὴρ Ιουδα εἰς τί ἀνέβητε ἐφ' ἡμα̃ς καὶ εἰ̃πον οἱ ἀλλόφυλοι δη̃σαι τὸν Σαμψων ἀνέβημεν καὶ ποιη̃σαι αὐτω̨̃ ὃν τρόπον ἐποίησεν ἡμι̃ν (Ⅲ)

- Dixeruntque ad eos de tribu Juda : Cur ascendistis adversum nos ? Qui responderunt : Ut ligemus Samson venimus, et reddamus ei quæ in nos operatus est.\ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 10 ׃15 ויאמרו איש יהודה למה עליתם עלינו ויאמרו לאסור את שמשון עלינו לעשות לו כאשר עשה לנו ‬ (Ⅴ)

15. 11

Sur quoi trois mille hommes de Juda descendirent à la caverne du rocher d'Étam, et dirent à Samson: Ne sais-tu pas que les Philistins dominent sur nous? Que nous as-tu donc fait? Il leur répondit: Je les ai traités comme il m'ont traité.

- Then three thousand men of Judah went to the top of the rock Etam, and said to Samson, Knowest thou not that the Philistines are rulers over us? what is this that thou hast done unto us? And he said unto them, As they did unto me, so have I done unto them. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ κατέβησαν τρισχίλιοι ἄνδρες ἀπὸ Ιουδα εἰς τρυμαλιὰν πέτρας Ηταμ καὶ εἰ̃παν τω̨̃ Σαμψων οὐκ οἰ̃δας ὅτι κυριεύουσιν οἱ ἀλλόφυλοι ἡμω̃ν καὶ τί του̃το ἐποίησας ἡμι̃ν καὶ εἰ̃πεν αὐτοι̃ς Σαμψων ὃν τρόπον ἐποίησάν μοι οὕτως ἐποίησα αὐτοι̃ς (Ⅲ)

- Descenderunt ergo tria millia virorum de Juda ad specum silicis Etam, dixeruntque ad Samson : Nescis quod Philisthiim imperent nobis ? quare hoc facere voluisti ? Quibus ille ait : Sicut fecerunt mihi, sic feci eis. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 11 ׃15 וירדו שלשת אלפים איש מיהודה אל סעיף סלע עיטם ויאמרו לשמשון הלא ידעת כי משלים בנו פלשתים ומה זאת עשית לנו ויאמר להם כאשר עשו לי כן עשיתי להם ‬ (Ⅴ)

15. 12

Ils lui dirent: Nous sommes descendus pour te lier, afin de te livrer entre les mains des Philistins. Samson leur dit: Jurez-moi que vous ne me tuerez pas.

- And they said unto him, We are come down to bind thee, that we may deliver thee into the hand of the Philistines. And Samson said unto them, Swear unto me, that ye will not fall upon me yourselves. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ εἰ̃παν αὐτω̨̃ δη̃σαί σε κατέβημεν του̃ δου̃ναί σε ἐν χειρὶ ἀλλοφύλων καὶ εἰ̃πεν αὐτοι̃ς Σαμψων ὀμόσατέ μοι μήποτε συναντήσητε ἐν ἐμοὶ ὑμει̃ς (Ⅲ)

- Ligare, inquiunt, te venimus, et tradere in manus Philisthinorum. Quibus Samson : Jurate, ait, et spondete mihi quod non occidatis me. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 12 ׃15 ויאמרו לו לאסרך ירדנו לתתך ביד פלשתים ויאמר להם שמשון השבעו לי פן תפגעון בי אתם ‬ (Ⅴ)

15. 13

Ils lui répondirent: Non; nous voulons seulement te lier et te livrer entre leurs mains, mais nous ne te ferons pas mourir. Et ils le lièrent avec deux cordes neuves, et le firent sortir du rocher.

- And they spake unto him, saying, No; but we will bind thee fast, and deliver thee into their hand: but surely we will not kill thee. And they bound him with two new cords, and brought him up from the rock. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ εἰ̃πον αὐτω̨̃ λέγοντες οὐχί ὅτι ἀλλ' ἢ δεσμω̨̃ δήσομέν σε καὶ παραδώσομέν σε ἐν χειρὶ αὐτω̃ν καὶ θανάτω̨ οὐ θανατώσομέν σε καὶ ἔδησαν αὐτὸν ἐν δυσὶ καλωδίοις καινοι̃ς καὶ ἀνήνεγκαν αὐτὸν ἀπὸ τη̃ς πέτρας ἐκείνης (Ⅲ)

- Dixerunt : Non te occidemus, sed vinctum trademus. Ligaveruntque eum duobus novis funibus, et tulerunt eum de petra Etam. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 13 ׃15 ויאמרו לו לאמר לא‪[C]‬‪[c]‬ כי אסר נאסרך ונתנוך בידם והמת לא נמיתך ויאסרהו בשנים עבתים חדשים ויעלוהו מן הסלע ‬ (Ⅴ)

15. 14

Lorsqu'il arriva à Léchi, les Philistins poussèrent des cris à sa rencontre. Alors l'esprit de l'Éternel le saisit. Les cordes qu'il avait aux bras devinrent comme du lin brûlé par le feu, et ses liens tombèrent de ses mains.

- And when he came unto Lehi, the Philistines shouted against him: and the Spirit of the LORD came mightily upon him, and the cords that were upon his arms became as flax that was burnt with fire, and his bands loosed from off his hands. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἠ̃λθον ἕως σιαγόνος καὶ οἱ ἀλλόφυλοι ἠλάλαξαν καὶ ἔδραμον εἰς συνάντησιν αὐτου̃ καὶ ἥλατο ἐπ' αὐτὸν πνευ̃μα κυρίου καὶ ἐγενήθη τὰ καλώδια τὰ ἐπὶ βραχίοσιν αὐτου̃ ὡσεὶ στιππύον ὃ ἐξεκαύθη ἐν πυρί καὶ ἐτάκησαν δεσμοὶ αὐτου̃ ἀπὸ χειρω̃ν αὐτου̃ (Ⅲ)

- Qui cum venisset ad locum Maxillæ, et Philisthiim vociferantes occurrissent ei, irruit spiritus Domini in eum : et sicut solent ad odorem ignis lina consumi, ita vincula, quibus ligatus erat, dissipata sunt et soluta. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 14 ׃15 הוא בא עד לחי ופלשתים‪[Q]‬‪[n]‬‪[v]‬ הריעו לקראתו ותצלח עליו רוח יהוה ותהיינה העבתים אשר על זרועותיו כפשתים אשר בערו באש וימסו אסוריו מעל ידיו ‬ (Ⅴ)

15. 15

Il trouva une mâchoire d'âne fraîche, il étendit sa main pour la prendre, et il en tua mille hommes.

- And he found a new jawbone of an ass, and put forth his hand, and took it, and slew a thousand men therewith. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ εὑ̃ρεν σιαγόνα ὄνου ἐκρεριμμένην καὶ ἐξέτεινεν τὴν χει̃ρα αὐτου̃ καὶ ἔλαβεν αὐτὴν καὶ ἐπάταξεν ἐν αὐτη̨̃ χιλίους ἄνδρας (Ⅲ)

- Inventamque maxillam, id est, mandibulam asini, quæ jacebat, arripiens interfecit in ea mille viros, (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 15 ׃15 וימצא לחי חמור טריה וישלח ידו ויקחה ויך בה אלף איש ‬ (Ⅴ)

15. 16

Et Samson dit: Avec une mâchoire d'âne, un monceau, deux monceaux; Avec une mâchoire d'âne, j'ai tué mille hommes.

- And Samson said, With the jawbone of an ass, heaps upon heaps, with the jaw of an ass have I slain a thousand men. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ εἰ̃πεν Σαμψων ἐν σιαγόνι ὄνου ἐξαλείφων ἐξήλειψα αὐτούς ὅτι ἐν τη̨̃ σιαγόνι του̃ ὄνου ἐπάταξα χιλίους ἄνδρας (Ⅲ)

- et ait : [In maxilla asini,/ in mandibula pulli asinarum,/ delevi eos,/ et percussi mille viros.] (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 16 ׃15 ויאמר שמשון בלחי החמור חמור חמרתים בלחי החמור הכיתי אלף איש ‬ (Ⅴ)

15. 17

Quand il eut achevé de parler, il jeta de sa main la mâchoire. Et l'on appela ce lieu Ramath Léchi.

- And it came to pass, when he had made an end of speaking, that he cast away the jawbone out of his hand, and called that place Ramathlehi. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐγένετο ὡς ἐπαύσατο λαλω̃ν καὶ ἔρριψεν τὴν σιαγόνα ἐκ τη̃ς χειρὸς αὐτου̃ καὶ ἐκάλεσεν τὸν τόπον ἐκει̃νον ἀναίρεσις σιαγόνος (Ⅲ)

- Cumque hæc verba canens complesset, projecit mandibulam de manu, et vocavit nomen loci illius Ramathlechi, quod interpretatur, Elevatio maxillæ. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 17 ׃15 ויהי ככלתו לדבר וישלך הלחי מידו ויקרא למקום ההוא רמת לחי ‬ (Ⅴ)

15. 18

Pressé par la soif, il invoqua l'Éternel, et dit: C'est toi qui a permis par la main de ton serviteur cette grande délivrance; et maintenant mourrais je de soif, et tomberais-je entre les mains des incirconcis?

- And he was sore athirst, and called on the LORD, and said, Thou hast given this great deliverance into the hand of thy servant: and now shall I die for thirst, and fall into the hand of the uncircumcised? (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐδίψησεν σφόδρα καὶ ἔκλαυσεν πρὸς κύριον καὶ εἰ̃πεν σὺ εὐδόκησας ἐν χειρὶ δούλου σου τὴν σωτηρίαν τὴν μεγάλην ταύτην καὶ νυ̃ν ἀποθανου̃μαι τω̨̃ δίψει καὶ ἐμπεσου̃μαι ἐν χειρὶ τω̃ν ἀπεριτμήτων (Ⅲ)

- Sitiensque valde, clamavit ad Dominum, et ait : Tu dedisti in manu servi tui salutem hanc maximam atque victoriam : en siti morior, incidamque in manus incircumcisorum. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 18 ׃15 ויצמא מאד ויקרא אל יהוה ויאמר אתה נתת ביד עבדך את התשועה הגדלה הזאת ועתה אמות בצמא ונפלתי ביד הערלים ‬ (Ⅴ)

15. 19

Dieu fendit la cavité du rocher qui est à Léchi, et il en sortit de l'eau. Samson but, son esprit se ranima, et il reprit vie. C'est de là qu'on a appelé cette source En Hakkoré; elle existe encore aujourd'hui à Léchi.

- But God clave an hollow place that was in the jaw, and there came water thereout; and when he had drunk, his spirit came again, and he revived: wherefore he called the name thereof Enhakkore, which is in Lehi unto this day. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἔρρηξεν ὁ θεὸς τὸν λάκκον τὸν ἐν τη̨̃ σιαγόνι καὶ ἐξη̃λθεν ἐξ αὐτου̃ ὕδωρ καὶ ἔπιεν καὶ ἐπέστρεψεν τὸ πνευ̃μα αὐτου̃ καὶ ἔζησεν διὰ του̃το ἐκλήθη τὸ ὄνομα αὐτη̃ς πηγὴ του̃ ἐπικαλουμένου ἥ ἐστιν ἐν σιαγόνι ἕως τη̃ς ἡμέρας ταύτης (Ⅲ)

- Aperuit itaque Dominus molarem dentem in maxilla asini, et egressæ sunt ex eo aquæ. Quibus haustis, refocillavit spiritum, et vires recepit. Idcirco appellatum est nomen loci illius, Fons invocantis de maxilla, usque in præsentem diem. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 19 ׃15 ויבקע אלהים את המכתש אשר בלחי ויצאו ממנו מים וישת ותשב רוחו ויחי על כן קרא שמה עין הקורא אשר בלחי עד היום הזה ‬ (Ⅴ)

15. 20

Samson fut juge en Israël, au temps des Philistins, pendant vingt ans.

- And he judged Israel in the days of the Philistines twenty years. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἔκρινεν τὸν Ισραηλ ἐν ἡμέραις ἀλλοφύλων εἴκοσι ἔτη (Ⅲ)

- Judicavitque Israël in diebus Philisthiim viginti annis. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 20 ׃15 וישפט את ישראל בימי פלשתים עשרים שנה פ‬ (Ⅴ)
