The Beneficent, the Merciful,
- Alhamdu lillahi rabbi alAAalameena (Ⅰ)
- In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful. (Ⅱ)
- Praise belongs to God, the Lord of all Being, (Ⅲ)
- بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ (Ⅳ)
- Praise be to Allah, the Cherisher and Sustainer of the worlds; (Ⅵ)
44. 1  
Ha Mim!
- Hameem (Ⅰ)
- Ha. Mim. (Ⅱ)
- Ha Mim (Ⅲ)
- بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ حم (Ⅳ)
- Ha-Mim. (Ⅵ)
44. 2  
By the Book that makes plain.
- Waalkitabi almubeeni (Ⅰ)
- By the Scripture that maketh plain (Ⅱ)
- By the Clear Book. (Ⅲ)
- وَالْكِتَابِ الْمُبِينِ (Ⅳ)
- By the Book that makes things clear;- (Ⅵ)
44. 3  
Lo! We revealed it on a blessed night - Lo! We are ever warning (against evil and its consequences) -
- Inna anzalnahu fee laylatin mubarakatin inna kunna munthireena (Ⅰ)
- Lo! We revealed it on a blessed night - Lo! We are ever warning - (Ⅱ)
- We have sent it down in a blessed night (We are ever warning) (Ⅲ)
- إِنَّا أَنزَلْنَاهُ فِي لَيْلَةٍ مُّبَارَكَةٍ ۚ إِنَّا كُنَّا مُنذِرِينَ (Ⅳ)
- We sent it down during a Blessed Night: for We (ever) wish to warn (against Evil). (Ⅵ)
44. 4  
Therein (the blessed night) every wise affair is made clear,
- Feeha yufraqu kullu amrin hakeemin (Ⅰ)
- Whereon every wise command is made clear (Ⅱ)
- therein every wise bidding (Ⅲ)
- فِيهَا يُفْرَقُ كُلُّ أَمْرٍ حَكِيمٍ (Ⅳ)
- In the (Night) is made distinct every affair of wisdom, (Ⅵ)
44. 5  
A command from Us; surely We are ever the senders (of revelations),
- Amran min AAindina inna kunna mursileena (Ⅰ)
- As a command from Our presence - Lo! We are ever sending - (Ⅱ)
- determined as a bidding from Us, (We are ever sending) (Ⅲ)
- أَمْرًا مِّنْ عِندِنَا ۚ إِنَّا كُنَّا مُرْسِلِينَ (Ⅳ)
- By command, from Our Presence. For We (ever) send (revelations), (Ⅵ)
44. 6  
As a mercy from your Lord. Surely He is the Hearer, the Knower,
- Rahmatan min rabbika innahu huwa alssameeAAu alAAaleemu (Ⅰ)
- A mercy from thy Lord. Lo! He, even He is the Hearer, the Knower, (Ⅱ)
- as a mercy from thy Lord (surely He is the All-hearing, the All-knowing) (Ⅲ)
- رَحْمَةً مِّن رَّبِّكَ ۚ إِنَّهُ هُوَ السَّمِيعُ الْعَلِيمُ (Ⅳ)
- As Mercy from thy Lord: for He hears and knows (all things); (Ⅵ)
44. 7  
The Lord of the heavens and the earth and what is between them, if you would be sure (in faith.)
- Rabbi alssamawati waalardi wama baynahuma in kuntum mooqineena (Ⅰ)
- Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, if ye would be sure. (Ⅱ)
- Lord of the heavens and earth, and all that between them is if you have faith. (Ⅲ)
- رَبِّ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا ۖ إِن كُنتُم مُّوقِنِينَ (Ⅳ)
- The Lord of the heavens and the earth and all between them, if ye (but) have an assured faith. (Ⅵ)
44. 8  
There is no God but He; He quickens and causes death, your Lord and the Lord of your forefathers.
- La ilaha illa huwa yuhyee wayumeetu rabbukum warabbu abaikumu alawwaleena (Ⅰ)
- There is no God save Him. He quickeneth and giveth death; your Lord and Lord of your forefathers. (Ⅱ)
- There is no god but He; He gives life and makes to die; your Lord and the Lord of your fathers, the ancients. (Ⅲ)
- لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ يُحْيِي وَيُمِيتُ ۖ رَبُّكُمْ وَرَبُّ آبَائِكُمُ الْأَوَّلِينَ (Ⅳ)
- There is no god but He: It is He Who gives life and gives death,- The Lord and Cherisher to you and your earliest ancestors. (Ⅵ)
44. 9  
Nay, but they make sport in doubt,
- Bal hum fee shakkin yalAAaboona (Ⅰ)
- Nay, but they play in doubt. (Ⅱ)
- Nay, but they are in doubt, playing. (Ⅲ)
- بَلْ هُمْ فِي شَكٍّ يَلْعَبُونَ (Ⅳ)
- Yet they play about in doubt. (Ⅵ)
44. 10  
Therefore, keep waiting for the day when the heaven shall bring evident smoke (or mist),
- Fairtaqib yawma tatee alssamao bidukhanin mubeenin (Ⅰ)
- But watch thou (O Muhammad) for the day when the sky will produce visible smoke (Ⅱ)
- So be on the watch for a day when heaven shall bring a manifest smoke (Ⅲ)
- فَارْتَقِبْ يَوْمَ تَأْتِي السَّمَاءُ بِدُخَانٍ مُّبِينٍ (Ⅳ)
- Then watch thou for the Day that the sky will bring forth a kind of smoke (or mist) plainly visible, (Ⅵ)
44. 11  
That shall overtake men; this is a painful punishment.
- Yaghsha alnnasa hatha AAathabun aleemun (Ⅰ)
- That will envelop the people. This will be a painful torment. (Ⅱ)
- covering the people; this is a painful chastisement. (Ⅲ)
- يَغْشَى النَّاسَ ۖ هَٰذَا عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ (Ⅳ)
- Enveloping the people: this will be a Penalty Grievous. (Ⅵ)
44. 12  
(They pray,) "Our Lord! Remove from us the punishment; surely we are believers."
- Rabbana ikshif AAanna alAAathaba inna muminoona (Ⅰ)
- (Then they will say): Our Lord relieve us of the torment. Lo! we are believers. (Ⅱ)
- ´O our Lord, remove Thou from us the chastisement; we are believers.´ (Ⅲ)
- رَّبَّنَا اكْشِفْ عَنَّا الْعَذَابَ إِنَّا مُؤْمِنُونَ (Ⅳ)
- (They will say:) "Our Lord! remove the Penalty from us, for we do really believe!" (Ⅵ)
44. 13  
How can they remember (or understand Allah or the message), when a Messenger making clear (the truth) had already come to them,
- Anna lahumu alththikra waqad jaahum rasoolun mubeenun (Ⅰ)
- How can there be remembrance for them, when a messenger making plain (the Truth) had already come unto them, (Ⅱ)
- How should they have the Reminder, seeing a clear Messenger already came to them, (Ⅲ)
- أَنَّىٰ لَهُمُ الذِّكْرَىٰ وَقَدْ جَاءَهُمْ رَسُولٌ مُّبِينٌ (Ⅳ)
- How shall the message be (effectual) for them, seeing that an Messenger explaining things clearly has (already) come to them,- (Ⅵ)
44. 14  
Butt they had turned their backs on him and said, "He is one taught by others, a madman."
- Thumma tawallaw AAanhu waqaloo muAAallamun majnoonun (Ⅰ)
- And they had turned away from him and said: One taught (by others), a madman ? (Ⅱ)
- then they turned away from him and said, ´A man tutored, possessed!´ (Ⅲ)
- ثُمَّ تَوَلَّوْا عَنْهُ وَقَالُوا مُعَلَّمٌ مَّجْنُونٌ (Ⅳ)
- Yet they turn away from him and say: "Tutored (by others), a man possessed!" (Ⅵ)
44. 15  
Lo! We remove the punishment a little, (but) you will surely return (to evil).
- Inna kashifoo alAAathabi qaleelan innakum AAaidoona (Ⅰ)
- Lo! We withdraw the torment a little. Lo! ye return (to disbelief). (Ⅱ)
- ´Behold, We are removing the chastisement a little; behold, you revert!´ (Ⅲ)
- إِنَّا كَاشِفُو الْعَذَابِ قَلِيلًا ۚ إِنَّكُمْ عَائِدُونَ (Ⅳ)
- We shall indeed remove the Penalty for a while, (but) truly ye will revert (to your ways). (Ⅵ)
44. 16  
On the day when We will seize them with a mighty seizing, We will indeed exact retribution.
- Yawma nabtishu albatshata alkubra inna muntaqimoona (Ⅰ)
- On the day when We shall seize them with the greater seizure, (then) in truth We shall punish. (Ⅱ)
- Upon the day when We shall assault most mightily, then We shall take Our vengeance. (Ⅲ)
- يَوْمَ نَبْطِشُ الْبَطْشَةَ الْكُبْرَىٰ إِنَّا مُنتَقِمُونَ (Ⅳ)
- One day We shall seize you with a mighty onslaught: We will indeed (then) exact Retribution! (Ⅵ)
44. 17  
And certainly We tried before them the people of Pharaoh, and there came to them a noble Messenger,
- Walaqad fatanna qablahum qawma firAAawna wajaahum rasoolun kareemun (Ⅰ)
- And verily We tried before them Pharaoh's folk, when there came unto them a noble messenger, (Ⅱ)
- Already before them We tried the people of Pharaoh, and a noble Messenger came unto them, (Ⅲ)
- ۞ وَلَقَدْ فَتَنَّا قَبْلَهُمْ قَوْمَ فِرْعَوْنَ وَجَاءَهُمْ رَسُولٌ كَرِيمٌ (Ⅳ)
- We did, before them, try the people of Pharaoh: there came to them a messenger most honourable, (Ⅵ)
44. 18  
Saying, "Deliver to me the servants of Allah; surely I am a trustworthy messenger unto you,
- An addoo ilayya AAibada Allahi innee lakum rasoolun ameenun (Ⅰ)
- Saying: Give up to me the slaves of Allah. Lo! I am a faithful messenger unto you. (Ⅱ)
- saying, ´Deliver to me God´s servants; I am for you a faithful Messenger, (Ⅲ)
- أَنْ أَدُّوا إِلَيَّ عِبَادَ اللَّهِ ۖ إِنِّي لَكُمْ رَسُولٌ أَمِينٌ (Ⅳ)
- Saying: "Restore to me the Servants of Allah: I am to you an messenger worthy of all trust; (Ⅵ)
44. 19  
"And be not arrogant against Allah, for I come with clear authority:
- Waan la taAAloo AAala Allahi innee ateekum bisultanin mubeenin (Ⅰ)
- And saying: Be not proud against Allah. Lo! I bring you a clear warrant. (Ⅱ)
- and, ´Rise not up against God; behold, I come to you with a clear authority, (Ⅲ)
- وَأَن لَّا تَعْلُوا عَلَى اللَّهِ ۖ إِنِّي آتِيكُم بِسُلْطَانٍ مُّبِينٍ (Ⅳ)
- "And be not arrogant as against Allah: for I come to you with authority manifest. (Ⅵ)
44. 20  
"And surely I have taken refuge with my Lord and your Lord against your stoning me to death:
- Wainnee AAuthtu birabbee warabbikum an tarjumooni (Ⅰ)
- And lo! I have sought refuge in my Lord and your Lord lest ye stone me to death. (Ⅱ)
- and I take refuge in my Lord and your Lord, lest you should stone me. (Ⅲ)
- وَإِنِّي عُذْتُ بِرَبِّي وَرَبِّكُمْ أَن تَرْجُمُونِ (Ⅳ)
- "For me, I have sought safety with my Lord and your Lord, against your injuring me. (Ⅵ)
44. 21  
"And if you put no faith in me, then let me go."
- Wain lam tuminoo lee faiAAtazilooni (Ⅰ)
- And if ye put no faith in me, then let me go. (Ⅱ)
- ´But if so be that you believe me not, go you apart from me!´ (Ⅲ)
- وَإِن لَّمْ تُؤْمِنُوا لِي فَاعْتَزِلُونِ (Ⅳ)
- "If ye believe me not, at least keep yourselves away from me." (Ⅵ)
44. 22  
Then he called upon his Lord, "These are a guilty people".
- FadaAAa rabbahu anna haolai qawmun mujrimoona (Ⅰ)
- And he cried unto his Lord, (saying): These are guilty folk. (Ⅱ)
- And he called to his Lord, saying, ´These are a sinful people.´ (Ⅲ)
- فَدَعَا رَبَّهُ أَنَّ هَٰؤُلَاءِ قَوْمٌ مُّجْرِمُونَ (Ⅳ)
- (But they were aggressive:) then he cried to his Lord: "These are indeed a people given to sin." (Ⅵ)
44. 23  
(The reply came,) "So go forth with My servants by night; for surely you will be pursued:
- Faasri biAAibadee laylan innakum muttabaAAoona (Ⅰ)
- Then (his Lord commanded): Take away My slaves by night. Lo! ye will be followed, (Ⅱ)
- ´Then set thou forth with My servants in a watch of the night; surely you will be followed. (Ⅲ)
- فَأَسْرِ بِعِبَادِي لَيْلًا إِنَّكُم مُّتَّبَعُونَ (Ⅳ)
- (The reply came:) "March forth with My Servants by night: for ye are sure to be pursued. (Ⅵ)
44. 24  
"And leave the sea divided (as a furrow); surely they are a host that shall be drowned."
- Waotruki albahra rahwan innahum jundun mughraqoona (Ⅰ)
- And leave the sea behind at rest, for lo! they are a drowned host. (Ⅱ)
- And leave the sea becalmed; they are a drowned host.´ (Ⅲ)
- وَاتْرُكِ الْبَحْرَ رَهْوًا ۖ إِنَّهُمْ جُندٌ مُّغْرَقُونَ (Ⅳ)
- "And leave the sea as a furrow (divided): for they are a host (destined) to be drowned." (Ⅵ)
44. 25  
How many are the gardens and springs they have left behind!
- Kam tarakoo min jannatin waAAuyoonin (Ⅰ)
- How many were the gardens and the watersprings that they left behind, (Ⅱ)
- They left how many gardens and fountains, (Ⅲ)
- كَمْ تَرَكُوا مِن جَنَّاتٍ وَعُيُونٍ (Ⅳ)
- How many were the gardens and springs they left behind, (Ⅵ)
44. 26  
And corn fields and noble places!
- WazurooAAin wamaqamin kareemin (Ⅰ)
- And the cornlands and the goodly sites (Ⅱ)
- sown fields, and how noble a station, (Ⅲ)
- وَزُرُوعٍ وَمَقَامٍ كَرِيمٍ (Ⅳ)
- And corn-fields and noble buildings, (Ⅵ)
44. 27  
And goodly things wherein they rejoiced;
- WanaAAmatin kanoo feeha fakiheena (Ⅰ)
- And pleasant things wherein they took delight! (Ⅱ)
- and what prosperity they had rejoiced in! (Ⅲ)
- وَنَعْمَةٍ كَانُوا فِيهَا فَاكِهِينَ (Ⅳ)
- And wealth (and conveniences of life), wherein they had taken such delight! (Ⅵ)
44. 28  
Thus it was, and We gave them as a heritage to another people.
- Kathalika waawrathnaha qawman akhareena (Ⅰ)
- Even so (it was), and We made it an inheritance for other folk; (Ⅱ)
- Even so; and We bequeathed them upon another people. (Ⅲ)
- كَذَٰلِكَ ۖ وَأَوْرَثْنَاهَا قَوْمًا آخَرِينَ (Ⅳ)
- Thus (was their end)! And We made other people inherit (those things)! (Ⅵ)
44. 29  
So the heaven and the earth did not weep for them, nor were they respited.
- Fama bakat AAalayhimu alssamao waalardu wama kanoo munthareena (Ⅰ)
- And the heaven and the earth wept not for them, nor were they reprieved. (Ⅱ)
- Neither heaven nor earth wept for them, nor were they respited; (Ⅲ)
- فَمَا بَكَتْ عَلَيْهِمُ السَّمَاءُ وَالْأَرْضُ وَمَا كَانُوا مُنظَرِينَ (Ⅳ)
- And neither heaven nor earth shed a tear over them: nor were they given a respite (again). (Ⅵ)
44. 30  
And certainly We delivered the children of Israel from the abasing chastisement,
- Walaqad najjayna banee israeela mina alAAathabi almuheeni (Ⅰ)
- And We delivered the Children of Israel from the shameful doom; (Ⅱ)
- and We delivered the Children of Israel from the humbling chastisement, (Ⅲ)
- وَلَقَدْ نَجَّيْنَا بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ مِنَ الْعَذَابِ الْمُهِينِ (Ⅳ)
- We did deliver aforetime the Children of Israel from humiliating Punishment, (Ⅵ)
44. 31  
From Pharaoh; surely he was haughty, (and) one of those who committed excesses.
- Min firAAawna innahu kana AAaliyan mina almusrifeena (Ⅰ)
- (We delivered them) from Pharaoh. Lo! he was a tyrant of the wanton ones. (Ⅱ)
- from Pharaoh; surely he was a high One, of the prodigals; (Ⅲ)
- مِن فِرْعَوْنَ ۚ إِنَّهُ كَانَ عَالِيًا مِّنَ الْمُسْرِفِينَ (Ⅳ)
- Inflicted by Pharaoh, for he was arrogant (even) among inordinate transgressors. (Ⅵ)
44. 32  
And certainly We chose them, knowingly (or purposely), above all the nations.
- Walaqadi ikhtarnahum AAala AAilmin AAala alAAalameena (Ⅰ)
- And We chose them, purposely, above (all) creatures. (Ⅱ)
- and We chose them, out of a knowledge, above all beings, (Ⅲ)
- وَلَقَدِ اخْتَرْنَاهُمْ عَلَىٰ عِلْمٍ عَلَى الْعَالَمِينَ (Ⅳ)
- And We chose them aforetime above the nations, knowingly, (Ⅵ)
44. 33  
And We gave them signs wherein was a clear trial.
- Waataynahum mina alayati ma feehi balaon mubeenun (Ⅰ)
- And We gave them portents wherein was a clear trial. (Ⅱ)
- and gave them signs wherein there was a manifest trial. (Ⅲ)
- وَآتَيْنَاهُم مِّنَ الْآيَاتِ مَا فِيهِ بَلَاءٌ مُّبِينٌ (Ⅳ)
- And granted them Signs in which there was a manifest trial (Ⅵ)
44. 34  
Lo! These (the pagan Arabs) say,
- Inna haolai layaqooloona (Ⅰ)
- Lo! these, forsooth, are saying: (Ⅱ)
- These men do say, (Ⅲ)
- إِنَّ هَٰؤُلَاءِ لَيَقُولُونَ (Ⅳ)
- As to these (Quraish), they say forsooth: (Ⅵ)
44. 35  
"There is naught but our first death and we shall not be raised again.
- In hiya illa mawtatuna aloola wama nahnu bimunshareena (Ⅰ)
- There is naught but our first death, and we shall not be raised again. (Ⅱ)
- ´There is nothing but our first death; we shall not be revived. (Ⅲ)
- إِنْ هِيَ إِلَّا مَوْتَتُنَا الْأُولَىٰ وَمَا نَحْنُ بِمُنشَرِينَ (Ⅳ)
- "There is nothing beyond our first death, and we shall not be raised again. (Ⅵ)
44. 36  
"Bring back our fathers, if you are truthful."
- Fatoo biabaina in kuntum sadiqeena (Ⅰ)
- Bring back our fathers, if ye speak the truth! (Ⅱ)
- Bring us our fathers, if you speak truly!´ (Ⅲ)
- فَأْتُوا بِآبَائِنَا إِن كُنتُمْ صَادِقِينَ (Ⅳ)
- "Then bring (back) our forefathers, if what ye say is true!" (Ⅵ)
44. 37  
What! Are they better than the people of Tubba and those before them? We destroyed them, for surely they were guilty.
- Ahum khayrun am qawmu tubbaAAin waallatheena min qablihim ahlaknahum innahum kanoo mujrimeena (Ⅰ)
- Are they better, or the folk of Tubb'a and those before them ? We destroyed them, for surely they were guilty. (Ⅱ)
- Are they better, or the people of Tubba´ and those before them whom We destroyed? They were surely sinners. (Ⅲ)
- أَهُمْ خَيْرٌ أَمْ قَوْمُ تُبَّعٍ وَالَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ ۚ أَهْلَكْنَاهُمْ ۖ إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا مُجْرِمِينَ (Ⅳ)
- What! Are they better than the people of Tubba and those who were before them? We destroyed them because they were guilty of sin. (Ⅵ)
44. 38  
And We did not create the heavens and the earth and what is between them in sport.
- Wama khalaqna alssamawati waalarda wama baynahuma laAAibeena (Ⅰ)
- And We created not the heavens and the earth, and all that is between them, in play. (Ⅱ)
- We created not the heavens and earth, and all that between them is, in play; (Ⅲ)
- وَمَا خَلَقْنَا السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا لَاعِبِينَ (Ⅳ)
- We created not the heavens, the earth, and all between them, merely in (idle) sport: (Ⅵ)
44. 39  
We create them both not, except with truth, but most of them know not.
- Ma khalaqnahuma illa bialhaqqi walakinna aktharahum la yaAAlamoona (Ⅰ)
- We created them not save with truth; but most of them know not. (Ⅱ)
- We created them not save in truth; but most of them know it not. (Ⅲ)
- مَا خَلَقْنَاهُمَا إِلَّا بِالْحَقِّ وَلَٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ (Ⅳ)
- We created them not except for just ends: but most of them do not understand. (Ⅵ)
44. 40  
Assuredly the Day of Decision (or of Sorting) is the term appointed for all of them,
- Inna yawma alfasli meeqatuhum ajmaAAeena (Ⅰ)
- Assuredly the Day of Decision is the term for all of them, (Ⅱ)
- Surely the Day of Decision shall be their appointed time, all together, (Ⅲ)
- إِنَّ يَوْمَ الْفَصْلِ مِيقَاتُهُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ (Ⅳ)
- Verily the Day of sorting out is the time appointed for all of them,- (Ⅵ)
44. 41  
The day on which friend can in naught avail friend, nor can they be helped,
- Yawma la yughnee mawlan AAan mawlan shayan wala hum yunsaroona (Ⅰ)
- A day when friend can in naught avail friend, nor can they be helped, (Ⅱ)
- the day a master shall avail nothing a client, and they shall not be helped, (Ⅲ)
- يَوْمَ لَا يُغْنِي مَوْلًى عَن مَّوْلًى شَيْئًا وَلَا هُمْ يُنصَرُونَ (Ⅳ)
- The Day when no protector can avail his client in aught, and no help can they receive, (Ⅵ)
44. 42  
Save those on whom Allah has mercy; surely He is the Mighty the Merciful.
- Illa man rahima Allahu innahu huwa alAAazeezu alrraheemu (Ⅰ)
- Save him on whom Allah hath mercy. Lo! He is the Mighty, the Merciful. (Ⅱ)
- save him upon whom God has mercy; He is the All-mighty, the All-compassionate. (Ⅲ)
- إِلَّا مَن رَّحِمَ اللَّهُ ۚ إِنَّهُ هُوَ الْعَزِيزُ الرَّحِيمُ (Ⅳ)
- Except such as receive Allah´s Mercy: for He is Exalted in Might, Most Merciful. (Ⅵ)
44. 43  
Behold the tree of Zaqqum,
- Inna shajarata alzzaqqoomi (Ⅰ)
- Lo! the tree of Zaqqum, (Ⅱ)
- Lo, the Tree of Ez-Zakkoum (Ⅲ)
- إِنَّ شَجَرَتَ الزَّقُّومِ (Ⅳ)
- Verily the tree of Zaqqum (Ⅵ)
44. 44  
Is the food of the sinful,
- TaAAamu alatheemi (Ⅰ)
- The food of the sinner! (Ⅱ)
- is the food of the guilty, (Ⅲ)
- طَعَامُ الْأَثِيمِ (Ⅳ)
- Will be the food of the Sinful,- (Ⅵ)
44. 45  
Like molten brass, it shall boil in (their) bellies,
- Kaalmuhli yaghlee fee albutooni (Ⅰ)
- Like molten brass, it seetheth in their bellies (Ⅱ)
- like molten copper, bubbling in the belly (Ⅲ)
- كَالْمُهْلِ يَغْلِي فِي الْبُطُونِ (Ⅳ)
- Like molten brass; it will boil in their insides. (Ⅵ)
44. 46  
Like the seesing of boiling water.
- Kaghalyi alhameemi (Ⅰ)
- As the seething of boiling water. (Ⅱ)
- as boiling water bubbles. (Ⅲ)
- كَغَلْيِ الْحَمِيمِ (Ⅳ)
- Like the boiling of scalding water. (Ⅵ)
44. 47  
(It will be said,) "Seize him, then drag him down into the midst of hell;
- Khuthoohu faiAAtiloohu ila sawai aljaheemi (Ⅰ)
- (And it will be said): Take him and drag him to the midst of hell, (Ⅱ)
- ´Take him, and thrust him into the midst of Hell, (Ⅲ)
- خُذُوهُ فَاعْتِلُوهُ إِلَىٰ سَوَاءِ الْجَحِيمِ (Ⅳ)
- (A voice will cry: "Seize ye him and drag him into the midst of the Blazing Fire! (Ⅵ)
44. 48  
Then pour above his head of the torment of the boiling water:
- Thumma subboo fawqa rasihi min AAathabi alhameemi (Ⅰ)
- Then pour upon his head the torment of boiling water. (Ⅱ)
- then pour over his head the chastisement of boiling water!´ (Ⅲ)
- ثُمَّ صُبُّوا فَوْقَ رَأْسِهِ مِنْ عَذَابِ الْحَمِيمِ (Ⅳ)
- "Then pour over his head the Penalty of Boiling Water, (Ⅵ)
44. 49  
"Saying, ´Taste; lo! You were forsooth the mighty, the noble!
- Thuq innaka anta alAAazeezu alkareemu (Ⅰ)
- (Saying): Taste! Lo! thou wast forsooth the mighty, the noble! (Ⅱ)
- ´Taste! Surely thou art the mighty, the noble. (Ⅲ)
- ذُقْ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ الْعَزِيزُ الْكَرِيمُ (Ⅳ)
- "Taste thou (this)! Truly wast thou mighty, full of honour! (Ⅵ)
