Misericordia et veritas te non deserant ;/ circumda eas gutturi tuo,/ et describe in tabulis cordis tui :/
- Que la bonté et la fidélité ne t'abandonnent pas; Lie-les à ton cou, écris-les sur la table de ton coeur. (Ⅱ) - Let not mercy and truth forsake thee: bind them about thy neck; write them upon the table of thine heart: (Ⅲ) - ἐλεημοσύναι καὶ πίστεις μὴ ἐκλιπέτωσάν σε ἄφαψαι δὲ αὐτὰς ἐπὶ σω̨̃ τραχήλω̨ καὶ εὑρήσεις χάριν (Ⅳ) - 3 ׃3 חסד ואמת אל יעזבך קשרם על גרגרותיך כתבם על לוח לבך (Ⅴ)

et invenies gratiam, et disciplinam bonam,/ coram Deo et hominibus./
- Tu acquerras ainsi de la grâce et une raison saine, Aux yeux de Dieu et des hommes. (Ⅱ) - So shalt thou find favour and good understanding in the sight of God and man. (Ⅲ) - καὶ προνοου̃ καλὰ ἐνώπιον κυρίου καὶ ἀνθρώπων (Ⅳ) - 4 ׃3 ומצא חן ושכל טוב בעיני אלהים ואדם פ (Ⅴ)

Habe fiduciam in Domino ex toto corde tuo,/ et ne innitaris prudentiæ tuæ./
- Confie-toi en l'Éternel de tout ton coeur, Et ne t'appuie pas sur ta sagesse; (Ⅱ) - Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. (Ⅲ) - ἴσθι πεποιθὼς ἐν ὅλη̨ καρδία̨ ἐπὶ θεω̨̃ ἐπὶ δὲ ση̨̃ σοφία̨ μὴ ἐπαίρου (Ⅳ) - 5 ׃3 בטח אל יהוה בכל לבך ואל בינתך אל תשען (Ⅴ)

In omnibus viis tuis cogita illum,/ et ipse diriget gressus tuos./
- Reconnais-le dans toutes tes voies, Et il aplanira tes sentiers. (Ⅱ) - In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. (Ⅲ) - ἐν πάσαις ὁδοι̃ς σου γνώριζε αὐτήν ἵνα ὀρθοτομη̨̃ τὰς ὁδούς σου ὁ δὲ πούς σου οὐ μὴ προσκόπτη̨ (Ⅳ) - 6 ׃3 בכל דרכיך דעהו והוא יישר ארחתיך (Ⅴ)

Ne sis sapiens apud temetipsum ;/ time Deum, et recede a malo :/
- Ne sois point sage à tes propres yeux, Crains l'Éternel, et détourne-toi du mal: (Ⅱ) - Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil. (Ⅲ) - μὴ ἴσθι φρόνιμος παρὰ σεαυτω̨̃ φοβου̃ δὲ τὸν θεὸν καὶ ἔκκλινε ἀπὸ παντὸς κακου̃ (Ⅳ) - 7 ׃3 אל תהי חכם בעיניך ירא את יהוה וסור מרע (Ⅴ)

sanitas quippe erit umbilico tuo,/ et irrigatio ossium tuorum./
- Ce sera la santé pour tes muscles, Et un rafraîchissement pour tes os. (Ⅱ) - It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones. (Ⅲ) - τότε ἴασις ἔσται τω̨̃ σώματί σου καὶ ἐπιμέλεια τοι̃ς ὀστέοις σου (Ⅳ) - 8 ׃3 רפאות תהי לשרך ושקוי לעצמותיך (Ⅴ)

Honora Dominum de tua substantia,/ et de primitiis omnium frugum tuarum da ei :/
- Honore l'Éternel avec tes biens, Et avec les prémices de tout ton revenu: (Ⅱ) - Honour the LORD with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase: (Ⅲ) - τίμα τὸν κύριον ἀπὸ σω̃ν δικαίων πόνων καὶ ἀπάρχου αὐτω̨̃ ἀπὸ σω̃ν καρπω̃ν δικαιοσύνης (Ⅳ) - 9 ׃3 כבד את יהוה מהונך ומראשית כל תבואתך (Ⅴ)

et implebuntur horrea tua saturitate,/ et vino torcularia tua redundabunt.]\
- Alors tes greniers seront remplis d'abondance, Et tes cuves regorgeront de moût. (Ⅱ) - So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine. Disciplinam Domini, fili mi, ne abjicias,/ nec deficias cum ab eo corriperis :/
- Mon fils, ne méprise pas la correction de l'Éternel, Et ne t'effraie point de ses châtiments; (Ⅱ) - My son, despise not the chastening of the LORD; neither be weary of his correction: (Ⅲ) - υἱέ μὴ ὀλιγώρει παιδείας κυρίου μηδὲ ἐκλύου ὑπ' αὐτου̃ ἐλεγχόμενος (Ⅳ) - 11 ׃3 מוסר יהוה בני אל תמאס ואל תקץ בתוכחתו (Ⅴ)

- Car l'Éternel châtie celui qu'il aime, Comme un père l'enfant qu'il chérit. (Ⅱ) - For whom the LORD loveth he correcteth; even as a father the son in whom he delighteth. (Ⅲ) - ὃν γὰρ ἀγαπα̨̃ κύριος παιδεύει μαστιγοι̃ δὲ πάντα υἱὸν ὃν παραδέχεται (Ⅳ) - 12 ׃3 כי את אשר יאהב יהוה יוכיח וכאב את בן ירצה (Ⅴ)

Beatus homo qui invenit sapientiam,/ et qui affluit prudentia./
- Heureux l'homme qui a trouvé la sagesse, Et l'homme qui possède l'intelligence! (Ⅱ) - Happy is the man that findeth wisdom, and the man that getteth understanding. (Ⅲ) - μακάριος ἄνθρωπος ὃς εὑ̃ρεν σοφίαν καὶ θνητὸς ὃς εἰ̃δεν φρόνησιν (Ⅳ) - 13 ׃3 אשרי אדם מצא חכמה ואדם יפיק תבונה (Ⅴ)

Melior est acquisitio ejus negotiatione argenti,/ et auri primi et purissimi fructus ejus./
- Car le gain qu'elle procure est préférable à celui de l'argent, Et le profit qu'on en tire vaut mieux que l'or; (Ⅱ) - For the merchandise of it is better than the merchandise of silver, and the gain thereof than fine gold. (Ⅲ) - κρει̃ττον γὰρ αὐτὴν ἐμπορεύεσθαι ἢ χρυσίου καὶ ἀργυρίου θησαυρούς (Ⅳ) - 14 ׃3 כי טוב סחרה מסחר כסף ומחרוץ תבואתה (Ⅴ)

Pretiosior est cunctis opibus,/ et omnia quæ desiderantur huic non valent comparari./
- Elle est plus précieuse que les perles, Elle a plus de valeur que tous les objets de prix. (Ⅱ) - She is more precious than rubies: and all the things thou canst desire are not to be compared unto her. (Ⅲ) - τιμιωτέρα δέ ἐστιν λίθων πολυτελω̃ν οὐκ ἀντιτάξεται αὐτη̨̃ οὐδὲν πονηρόν εὔγνωστός ἐστιν πα̃σιν τοι̃ς ἐγγίζουσιν αὐτη̨̃ πα̃ν δὲ τίμιον οὐκ ἄξιον αὐτη̃ς ἐστιν (Ⅳ) - 15 ׃3 יקרה היא *מפניים **מפנינים וכל חפציך לא ישוו בה (Ⅴ)

Longitudo dierum in dextera ejus,/ et in sinistra illius divitiæ et gloria./
- Dans sa droite est une longue vie; Dans sa gauche, la richesse et la gloire. (Ⅱ) - Length of days is in her right hand; and in her left hand riches and honour. (Ⅲ) - μη̃κος γὰρ βίου καὶ ἔτη ζωη̃ς ἐν τη̨̃ δεξια̨̃ αὐτη̃ς ἐν δὲ τη̨̃ ἀριστερα̨̃ αὐτη̃ς πλου̃τος καὶ δόξα (Ⅳ) - 16 ׃3 ארך ימים בימינה בשמאולה עשר וכבוד (Ⅴ)

Viæ ejus viæ pulchræ,/ et omnes semitæ illius pacificæ./
- Ses voies sont des voies agréables, Et tous ses sentiers sont paisibles. (Ⅱ) - Her ways are ways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace. (Ⅲ) - αἱ ὁδοὶ αὐτη̃ς ὁδοὶ καλαί καὶ πάντες οἱ τρίβοι αὐτη̃ς ἐν εἰρήνη̨ (Ⅳ) - 17 ׃3 דרכיה דרכי נעם וכל נתיבותיה שלום (Ⅴ)

Lignum vitæ est his qui apprehenderint eam,/ et qui tenuerit eam beatus./
- Elle est un arbre de vie pour ceux qui la saisissent, Et ceux qui la possèdent sont heureux. (Ⅱ) - She is a tree of life to them that lay hold upon her: and happy is every one that retaineth her. (Ⅲ) - ξύλον ζωη̃ς ἐστι πα̃σι τοι̃ς ἀντεχομένοις αὐτη̃ς καὶ τοι̃ς ἐπερειδομένοις ἐπ' αὐτὴν ὡς ἐπὶ κύριον ἀσφαλής (Ⅳ) - 18 ׃3 עץ חיים היא למחזיקים בה ותמכיה מאשר פ (Ⅴ)

Dominus sapientia fundavit terram ;/ stabilivit cælos prudentia./
- C'est par la sagesse que l'Éternel a fondé la terre, C'est par l'intelligence qu'il a affermi les cieux; (Ⅱ) - The LORD by wisdom hath founded the earth; by understanding hath he established the heavens. (Ⅲ) - ὁ θεὸς τη̨̃ σοφία̨ ἐθεμελίωσεν τὴν γη̃ν ἡτοίμασεν δὲ οὐρανοὺς ἐν φρονήσει (Ⅳ) - 19 ׃3 יהוה בחכמה יסד ארץ כונן שמים בתבונה (Ⅴ)

Sapientia illius eruperunt abyssi,/ et nubes rore concrescunt.]\
- C'est par sa science que les abîmes se sont ouverts, Et que les nuages distillent la rosée. (Ⅱ) - By his knowledge the depths are broken up, and the clouds drop down the dew. (Ⅲ) - ἐν αἰσθήσει ἄβυσσοι ἐρράγησαν νέφη δὲ ἐρρύησαν δρόσους (Ⅳ) - 20 ׃3 בדעתו תהומות נבקעו ושחקים ירעפו טל (Ⅴ)

Fili mi, ne effluant hæc ab oculis tuis./ Custodi legem atque consilium,/
- Mon fils, que ces enseignements ne s'éloignent pas de tes yeux, Garde la sagesse et la réflexion: (Ⅱ) - My son, let not them depart from thine eyes: keep sound wisdom and discretion: (Ⅲ) - υἱέ μὴ παραρρυη̨̃ς τήρησον δὲ ἐμὴν βουλὴν καὶ ἔννοιαν (Ⅳ) - 21 ׃3 בני אל ילזו מעיניך נצר תשיה ומזמה (Ⅴ)

- Alors tu marcheras avec assurance dans ton chemin, Et ton pied ne heurtera pas. (Ⅱ) - Then shalt thou walk in thy way safely, and thy foot shall not stumble. (Ⅲ) - ἵνα πορεύη̨ πεποιθὼς ἐν εἰρήνη̨ πάσας τὰς ὁδούς σου ὁ δὲ πούς σου οὐ μὴ προσκόψη̨ (Ⅳ) - 23 ׃3 אז תלך לבטח דרכך ורגלך לא תגוף (Ⅴ)

Si dormieris, non timebis ;/ quiesces, et suavis erit somnus tuus./
- Si tu te couches, tu seras sans crainte; Et quand tu seras couché, ton sommeil sera doux. (Ⅱ) - When thou liest down, thou shalt not be afraid: yea, thou shalt lie down, and thy sleep shall be sweet. (Ⅲ) - ἐὰν γὰρ κάθη̨ ἄφοβος ἔση̨ ἐὰν δὲ καθεύδη̨ς ἡδέως ὑπνώσεις (Ⅳ) - 24 ׃3 אם תשכב לא תפחד ושכבת וערבה שנתך (Ⅴ)

Ne paveas repentino terrore,/ et irruentes tibi potentias impiorum./
- Ne redoute ni une terreur soudaine, Ni une attaque de la part des méchants; (Ⅱ) - Be not afraid of sudden fear, neither of the desolation of the wicked, when it cometh. (Ⅲ) - καὶ οὐ φοβηθήση̨ πτόησιν ἐπελθου̃σαν οὐδὲ ὁρμὰς ἀσεβω̃ν ἐπερχομένας (Ⅳ) - 25 ׃3 אל תירא מפחד פתאם ומשאת רשעים כי תבא (Ⅴ)

Dominus enim erit in latere tuo,/ et custodiet pedem tuum, ne capiaris.]\
- Car l'Éternel sera ton assurance, Et il préservera ton pied de toute embûche. (Ⅱ) - For the LORD shall be thy confidence, and shall keep thy foot from being taken. (Ⅲ) - ὁ γὰρ κύριος ἔσται ἐπὶ πασω̃ν ὁδω̃ν σου καὶ ἐρείσει σὸν πόδα ἵνα μὴ σαλευθη̨̃ς (Ⅳ) - 26 ׃3 כי יהוה יהיה בכסלך ושמר רגלך מלכד (Ⅴ)

Noli prohibere benefacere eum qui potest :/ si vales, et ipse benefac./
- Ne refuse pas un bienfait à celui qui y a droit, Quand tu as le pouvoir de l'accorder. (Ⅱ) - Withhold not good from them to whom it is due, when it is in the power of thine hand to do it. (Ⅲ) - μὴ ἀπόσχη̨ εὐ̃ ποιει̃ν ἐνδεη̃ ἡνίκα ἂν ἔχη̨ ἡ χείρ σου βοηθει̃ν (Ⅳ) - 27 ׃3 אל תמנע טוב מבעליו בהיות לאל *ידיך **ידך לעשות (Ⅴ)

Ne dicas amico tuo : Vade, et revertere : cras dabo tibi :/ cum statim possis dare./
- Ne dis pas à ton prochain: Va et reviens, Demain je donnerai! quand tu as de quoi donner. (Ⅱ) - Say not unto thy neighbour, Go, and come again, and to morrow I will give; when thou hast it by thee. (Ⅲ) - μὴ εἴπης ἐπανελθὼν ἐπάνηκε καὶ αὔριον δώσω δυνατου̃ σου ὄντος εὐ̃ ποιει̃ν οὐ γὰρ οἰ̃δας τί τέξεται ἡ ἐπιου̃σα (Ⅳ) - 28 ׃3 אל תאמר *לרעיך **לרעך לך ושוב ומחר אתן ויש אתך (Ⅴ)

Ne moliaris amico tuo malum,/ cum ille in te habeat fiduciam./
- Ne médite pas le mal contre ton prochain, Lorsqu'il demeure tranquillement près de toi. (Ⅱ) - Devise not evil against thy neighbour, seeing he dwelleth securely by thee. (Ⅲ) - μὴ τεκτήνη̨ ἐπὶ σὸν φίλον κακὰ παροικου̃ντα καὶ πεποιθότα ἐπὶ σοί (Ⅳ) - 29 ׃3 אל תחרש על רעך רעה והוא יושב לבטח אתך (Ⅴ)

Ne contendas adversus hominem frustra,/ cum ipse tibi nihil mali fecerit./
- Ne conteste pas sans motif avec quelqu'un, Lorsqu'il ne t'a point fait de mal. (Ⅱ) - Strive not with a man without cause, if he have done thee no harm. (Ⅲ) - μὴ φιλεχθρήση̨ς πρὸς ἄνθρωπον μάτην μή τι εἰς σὲ ἐργάσηται κακόν (Ⅳ) - 30 ׃3 אל *תרוב **תריב עם אדם חנם אם לא גמלך רעה (Ⅴ)

Ne æmuleris hominem injustum,/ nec imiteris vias ejus :/
- Ne porte pas envie à l'homme violent, Et ne choisis aucune de ses voies. (Ⅱ) - Envy thou not the oppressor, and choose none of his ways.| (Ⅲ) - μὴ κτήση̨ κακω̃ν ἀνδρω̃ν ὀνείδη μηδὲ ζηλώση̨ς τὰς ὁδοὺς αὐτω̃ν (Ⅳ) - 31 ׃3 אל תקנא באיש חמס ואל תבחר בכל דרכיו (Ⅴ)

quia abominatio Domini est omnis illusor,/ et cum simplicibus sermocinatio ejus./
- Car l'Éternel a en horreur les hommes pervers, Mais il est un ami pour les hommes droits; (Ⅱ) - For the froward is abomination to the LORD: but his secret is with the righteous. (Ⅲ) - ἀκάθαρτος γὰρ ἔναντι κυρίου πα̃ς παράνομος ἐν δὲ δικαίοις οὐ συνεδριάζει (Ⅳ) - 32 ׃3 כי תועבת יהוה נלוז ואת ישרים סודו (Ⅴ)

Egestas a Domino in domo impii ;/ habitacula autem justorum benedicentur./
- La malédiction de l'Éternel est dans la maison du méchant, Mais il bénit la demeure des justes; (Ⅱ) - The curse of the LORD is in the house of the wicked: but he blesseth the habitation of the just. (Ⅲ) - κατάρα θεου̃ ἐν οἴκοις ἀσεβω̃ν ἐπαύλεις δὲ δικαίων εὐλογου̃νται (Ⅳ) - 33 ׃3 מארת יהוה בבית רשע ונוה צדיקים יברך (Ⅴ)

Ipse deludet illusores,/ et mansuetis dabit gratiam./
- Il se moque des moqueurs, Mais il fait grâce aux humbles; (Ⅱ) - Surely he scorneth the scorners: but he giveth grace unto the lowly. (Ⅲ) - κύριος ὑπερηφάνοις ἀντιτάσσεται ταπεινοι̃ς δὲ δίδωσιν χάριν (Ⅳ) - 34 ׃3 אם ללצים הוא יליץ *ולעניים **ולענוים יתן חן (Ⅴ)

Gloriam sapientes possidebunt ;/ stultorum exaltatio ignominia.]\
- Les sages hériteront la gloire, Mais les insensés ont la honte en partage. (Ⅱ) - The wise shall inherit glory: but shame shall be the promotion of fools. (Ⅲ) - δόξαν σοφοὶ κληρονομήσουσιν οἱ δὲ ἀσεβει̃ς ὕψωσαν ἀτιμίαν (Ⅳ) - 35 ׃3 כבוד חכמים ינחלו וכסילים מרים קלון פ (Ⅴ)
