Et regnavit rex Sedecias filius Josiæ pro Jechonia filio Joakim, quem constituit regem Nabuchodonosor rex Babylonis in terra Juda :
- Sédécias, fils de Josias, régna à la place de Jeconia, fils de Jojakim, et fut établi roi dans le pays de Juda par Nebucadnetsar, roi de Babylone. (Ⅱ) - And king Zedekiah the son of Josiah reigned instead of Coniah the son of Jehoiakim, whom Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon made king in the land of Judah. (Ⅲ) - 1 ׃37 וימלך מלך צדקיהו בן יאשיהו תחת כניהו בן יהויקים אשר המליך נבוכדראצר מלך בבל בארץ יהודה (Ⅴ)

et non obedivit ipse, et servi ejus, et populus terræ, verbis Domini, quæ locutus est in manu Jeremiæ prophetæ.
- Ni lui, ni ses serviteurs, ni le peuple du pays, n'écoutèrent les paroles que l'Éternel prononça par Jérémie, le prophète. (Ⅱ) - But neither he, nor his servants, nor the people of the land, did hearken unto the words of the LORD, which he spake by the prophet Jeremiah. (Ⅲ) - 2 ׃37 ולא שמע הוא ועבדיו ועם הארץ אל דברי יהוה אשר דבר ביד ירמיהו הנביא (Ⅴ)

Et misit rex Sedecias Juchal filium Selemiæ, et Sophoniam filium Maasiæ, sacerdotem, ad Jeremiam prophetam, dicens : Ora pro nobis Dominum Deum nostrum.
- Le roi Sédécias envoya Jucal, fils de Schélémia, et Sophonie, fils de Maaséja, le sacrificateur, vers Jérémie, le prophète, pour lui dire: Intercède en notre faveur auprès de l'Éternel, notre Dieu. (Ⅱ) - And Zedekiah the king sent Jehucal the son of Shelemiah and Zephaniah the son of Maaseiah the priest to the prophet Jeremiah, saying, Pray now unto the LORD our God for us. (Ⅲ) - 3 ׃37 וישלח המלך צדקיהו את יהוכל בן שלמיה ואת צפניהו בן מעשיה הכהן אל ירמיהו הנביא לאמר התפלל נא בעדנו אל יהוה אלהינו (Ⅴ)

Jeremias autem libere ambulabat in medio populi : non enim miserant eum in custodiam carceris. Igitur exercitus Pharaonis egressus est de Ægypto, et audientes Chaldæi qui obsidebant Jerusalem, hujuscemodi nuntium, recesserunt ab Jerusalem.
- Or Jérémie allait et venait parmi le peuple; on ne l'avait pas encore mis en prison. (Ⅱ) - Now Jeremiah came in and went out among the people: for they had not put him into prison. (Ⅲ) - 4 ׃37 וירמיהו בא ויצא בתוך העם ולא נתנו אתו בית *הכליא **הכלוא (Ⅴ)

Et factum est verbum Domini ad Jeremiam prophetam, dicens :
- L'armée de Pharaon était sortie d'Égypte; et les Chaldéens, qui assiégeaient Jérusalem, ayant appris cette nouvelle, s'étaient retirés de Jérusalem. (Ⅱ) - Then Pharaoh's army was come forth out of Egypt: and when the Chaldeans that besieged Jerusalem heard tidings of them, they departed from Jerusalem. (Ⅲ) - 5 ׃37 וחיל פרעה יצא ממצרים וישמעו הכשדים הצרים על ירושלם את שמעם ויעלו מעל ירושלם פ (Ⅴ)

Hæc dicit Dominus Deus Israël : Sic dicetis regi Juda, qui misit vos ad me interrogandum : Ecce exercitus Pharaonis, qui egressus est vobis in auxilium, revertetur in terram suam in Ægyptum :
- Alors la parole de l'Éternel fut adressée à Jérémie, le prophète, en ces mots: (Ⅱ) - Then came the word of the LORD unto the prophet Jeremiah saying, (Ⅲ) - 6 ׃37 ויהי דבר יהוה אל ירמיהו הנביא לאמר (Ⅴ)

et redient Chaldæi, et bellabunt contra civitatem hanc, et capient eam, et succendent eam igni.
- Ainsi parle l'Éternel, le Dieu d'Israël: Vous direz au roi de Juda, qui vous a envoyés vers moi pour me consulter: Voici, l'armée de Pharaon, qui était en marche pour vous secourir, retourne dans son pays, en Égypte; (Ⅱ) - Thus saith the LORD, the God of Israel; Thus shall ye say to the king of Judah, that sent you unto me to enquire of me; Behold, Pharaoh's army, which is come forth to help you, shall return to Egypt into their own land. (Ⅲ) - 7 ׃37 כה אמר יהוה אלהי ישראל כה[c] תאמרו אל מלך יהודה השלח אתכם אלי לדרשני הנה חיל פרעה היצא לכם לעזרה שב לארצו מצרים (Ⅴ)

Hæc dicit Dominus : Nolite decipere animas vestras, dicentes : Euntes abibunt, et recedent a nobis Chaldæi : quia non abibunt.
- et les Chaldéens reviendront, ils attaqueront cette ville, ils la prendront, et la brûleront par le feu. (Ⅱ) - And the Chaldeans shall come again, and fight against this city, and take it, and burn it with fire. (Ⅲ) - 8 ׃37 ושבו הכשדים ונלחמו על העיר הזאת ולכדה ושרפה באש ס (Ⅴ)

Sed etsi percusseritis omnem exercitum Chaldæorum qui præliantur adversum vos, et derelicti fuerint ex eis aliqui vulnerati, singuli de tentorio suo consurgent, et incendent civitatem hanc igni.
- Ainsi parle l'Éternel: Ne vous faites pas d'illusion, en disant: Les Chaldéens s'en iront loin de nous! Car ils ne s'en iront pas. (Ⅱ) - Thus saith the LORD; Deceive not yourselves, saying, The Chaldeans shall surely depart from us: for they shall not depart. (Ⅲ) - 9 ׃37 כה אמר יהוה אל תשאו נפשתיכם לאמר הלך ילכו מעלינו הכשדים כי לא ילכו (Ⅴ)

Ergo cum recessisset exercitus Chaldæorum ab Jerusalem, propter exercitum Pharaonis,
- Et même quand vous battriez toute l'armée des Chaldéens qui vous font la guerre, quand il ne resterait d'eux que des hommes blessés, ils se relèveraient chacun dans sa tente, et brûleraient cette ville par le feu. (Ⅱ) - For though ye had smitten the whole army of the Chaldeans that fight against you, and there remained but wounded men among them, yet should they rise up every man in his tent, and burn this city with fire. (Ⅲ) - 10 ׃37 כי אם הכיתם כל חיל כשדים הנלחמים אתכם ונשארו בם אנשים מדקרים איש באהלו יקומו ושרפו את העיר הזאת באש (Ⅴ)

egressus est Jeremias de Jerusalem ut iret in terram Benjamin, et divideret ibi possessionem in conspectu civium.
- Pendant que l'armée des Chaldéens s'était éloignée de Jérusalem, à cause de l'armée de Pharaon, (Ⅱ) - And it came to pass, that when the army of the Chaldeans was broken up from Jerusalem for fear of Pharaoh's army, (Ⅲ) - 11 ׃37 והיה בהעלות חיל הכשדים מעל ירושלם מפני חיל פרעה ס (Ⅴ)

Cumque pervenisset ad portam Benjamin, erat ibi custos portæ per vices, nomine Jerias filius Selemiæ filii Hananiæ : et apprehendit Jeremiam prophetam, dicens : Ad Chaldæos profugis.
- Jérémie voulut sortir de Jérusalem, pour aller dans le pays de Benjamin et s'échapper du milieu du peuple. (Ⅱ) - Then Jeremiah went forth out of Jerusalem to go into the land of Benjamin, to separate himself thence in the midst of the people. (Ⅲ) - 12 ׃37 ויצא ירמיהו מירושלם ללכת ארץ בנימן לחלק משם בתוך העם (Ⅴ)

Et respondit Jeremias : Falsum est : non fugio ad Chaldæos. Et non audivit eum, sed comprehendit Jerias Jeremiam, et adduxit eum ad principes :
- Lorsqu'il fut à la porte de Benjamin, le commandant de la garde, nommé Jireija, fils de Schélémia, fils de Hanania, se trouvait là, et il saisit Jérémie, le prophète, en disant: Tu passes aux Chaldéens! (Ⅱ) - And when he was in the gate of Benjamin, a captain of the ward was there, whose name was Irijah, the son of Shelemiah, the son of Hananiah; and he took Jeremiah the prophet, saying, Thou fallest away to the Chaldeans. (Ⅲ) - 13 ׃37 ויהי הוא בשער בנימן ושם בעל פקדת ושמו יראייה בן שלמיה בן חנניה ויתפש את ירמיהו הנביא לאמר אל הכשדים אתה נפל (Ⅴ)

quam ob rem irati principes contra Jeremiam, cæsum eum miserunt in carcerem qui erat in domo Jonathan scribæ : ipse enim præpositus erat super carcerem.
- Jérémie répondit: C'est faux! je ne passe pas aux Chaldéens. Mais Jireija ne l'écouta point; il arrêta Jérémie, et le conduisit devant les chefs. (Ⅱ) - Then said Jeremiah, It is false; I fall not away to the Chaldeans. But he hearkened not to him: so Irijah took Jeremiah, and brought him to the princes. (Ⅲ) - 14 ׃37 ויאמר ירמיהו שקר אינני נפל על הכשדים ולא שמע אליו ויתפש יראייה בירמיהו ויבאהו אל השרים (Ⅴ)

Itaque ingressus est Jeremias in domum laci et in ergastulum : et sedit ibi Jeremias diebus multis.
- Les chefs, irrités contre Jérémie, le frappèrent, et le mirent en prison dans la maison de Jonathan, le secrétaire; car ils en avaient fait une prison. (Ⅱ) - Wherefore the princes were wroth with Jeremiah, and smote him, and put him in prison in the house of Jonathan the scribe: for they had made that the prison. (Ⅲ) - 15 ׃37 ויקצפו השרים על ירמיהו והכו אתו ונתנו אותו בית האסור בית יהונתן הספר כי אתו עשו לבית הכלא (Ⅴ)

Mittens autem Sedecias rex, tulit eum : et interrogavit eum in domo sua abscondite, et dixit : Putasne est sermo a Domino ? Et dixit Jeremias : Est : et ait : In manus regis Babylonis traderis.
- Ce fut ainsi que Jérémie entra dans la prison et dans les cachots, où il resta longtemps. (Ⅱ) - When Jeremiah was entered into the dungeon, and into the cabins, and Jeremiah had remained there many days; (Ⅲ) - 16 ׃37 כי בא ירמיהו אל בית הבור ואל החניות וישב שם ירמיהו ימים רבים פ (Ⅴ)

Et dixit Jeremias ad regem Sedeciam : Quid peccavi tibi, et servis tuis, et populo tuo, quia misisti me in domum carceris ?
- Le roi Sédécias l'envoya chercher, et l'interrogea secrètement dans sa maison. Il dit: Y a-t-il une parole de la part de l'Éternel? Jérémie répondit: Oui. Et il ajouta: Tu seras livré entre les mains du roi de Babylone. (Ⅱ) - Then Zedekiah the king sent, and took him out: and the king asked him secretly in his house, and said, Is there any word from the LORD? And Jeremiah said, There is: for, said he, thou shalt be delivered into the hand of the king of Babylon. (Ⅲ) - 17 ׃37 וישלח המלך צדקיהו ויקחהו וישאלהו המלך בביתו בסתר ויאמר היש דבר מאת יהוה ויאמר ירמיהו יש ויאמר ביד מלך בבל תנתן ס (Ⅴ)

ubi sunt prophetæ vestri, qui prophetabant vobis, et dicebant : Non veniet rex Babylonis super vos, et super terram hanc ?
- Jérémie dit encore au roi Sédécias: En quoi ai-je péché contre toi, contre tes serviteurs, et contre ce peuple, pour que vous m'ayez mis en prison? (Ⅱ) - Moreover Jeremiah said unto king Zedekiah, What have I offended against thee, or against thy servants, or against this people, that ye have put me in prison? (Ⅲ) - 18 ׃37 ויאמר ירמיהו אל המלך צדקיהו מה חטאתי לך ולעבדיך ולעם הזה כי נתתם אותי אל בית הכלא (Ⅴ)

Nunc ergo audi, obsecro, domine mi rex : valeat deprecatio mea in conspectu tuo, et ne me remittas in domum Jonathan scribæ, ne moriar ibi.
- Et où sont vos prophètes qui vous prophétisaient, en disant: Le roi de Babylone ne viendra pas contre vous, ni contre ce pays? (Ⅱ) - Where are now your prophets which prophesied unto you, saying, The king of Babylon shall not come against you, nor against this land? (Ⅲ) - 19 ׃37 *ואיו **ואיה נביאיכם אשר נבאו לכם לאמר לא יבא מלך בבל עליכם ועל הארץ הזאת (Ⅴ)

Præcepit ergo rex Sedecias ut traderetur Jeremias in vestibulo carceris, et daretur ei torta panis quotidie, excepto pulmento, donec consumerentur omnes panes de civitate : et mansit Jeremias in vestibulo carceris.
- Maintenant, écoute, je te prie, ô roi, mon seigneur, et que mes supplications soient favorablement reçues devant toi! Ne me renvoie pas dans la maison de Jonathan, le secrétaire, de peur que je n'y meure! (Ⅱ) - Therefore hear now, I pray thee, O my lord the king: let my supplication, I pray thee, be accepted before thee; that thou cause me not to return to the house of Jonathan the scribe, lest I die there. (Ⅲ) - 20 ׃37 ועתה שמע נא אדני המלך תפל נא תחנתי לפניך ואל תשבני בית יהונתן הספר ולא אמות שם (Ⅴ)

- Le roi Sédécias ordonna qu'on gardât Jérémie dans la cour de la prison, et qu'on lui donnât chaque jour un pain de la rue des boulangers, jusqu'à ce que tout le pain de la ville fût consommé. Ainsi Jérémie demeura dans la cour de la prison. (Ⅱ) - Then Zedekiah the king commanded that they should commit Jeremiah into the court of the prison, and that they should give him daily a piece of bread out of the bakers' street, until all the bread in the city were spent. Thus Jeremiah remained in the court of the prison. (Ⅲ) - 21 ׃37 ויצוה המלך צדקיהו ויפקדו את ירמיהו בחצר המטרה ונתן לו ככר לחם ליום מחוץ האפים עד תם כל הלחם מן העיר וישב ירמיהו בחצר המטרה (Ⅴ)
