Hæc dicit Dominus :/ Ecce ego suscitabo super Babylonem et super habitatores ejus,/ qui cor suum levaverunt contra me,/ quasi ventum pestilentem :/
- Ainsi parle l'Éternel: Voici, je fais lever contre Babylone, Et contre les habitants de la Chaldée, Un vent destructeur. (Ⅱ)
- Thus saith the LORD; Behold, I will raise up against Babylon, and against them that dwell in the midst of them that rise up against me, a destroying wind; (Ⅲ)
- ‫ 1  ׃51  כה אמר יהוה הנני מעיר על בבל ואל ישבי לב קמי רוח משחית ‬ (Ⅴ)
51. 2  
et mittam in Babylonem ventilatores,/ et ventilabunt eam et demolientur terram ejus,/ quoniam venerunt super eam undique in die afflictionis ejus./
- J'envoie contre Babylone des vanneurs qui la vanneront, Qui videront son pays; Ils fondront de toutes parts sur elle, Au jour du malheur. (Ⅱ)
- And will send unto Babylon fanners, that shall fan her, and shall empty her land: for in the day of trouble they shall be against her round about. (Ⅲ)
- ‫ 2  ׃51  ושלחתי לבבל זרים וזרוה ויבקקו את ארצה כי היו עליה מסביב ביום רעה ‬ (Ⅴ)
51. 3  
Non tendat qui tendit arcum suum,/ et non ascendat loricatus :/ nolite parcere juvenibus ejus ;/ interficite omnem militiam ejus./
- Qu'on tende l'arc contre celui qui tend son arc, Contre celui qui est fier dans sa cuirasse! N'épargnez pas ses jeunes hommes! Exterminez toute son armée! (Ⅱ)
- Against him that bendeth let the archer bend his bow, and against him that lifteth himself up in his brigandine: and spare ye not her young men; destroy ye utterly all her host. (Ⅲ)
- ‫ 3  ׃51  אל ידרך *ידרך הדרך קשתו ואל יתעל בסרינו ואל תחמלו אל בחריה החרימו כל צבאה ‬ (Ⅴ)
51. 4  
Et cadent interfecti in terra Chaldæorum,/ et vulnerati in regionibus ejus./
- Qu'ils tombent blessés à mort dans le pays des Chaldéens, Percés de coups dans les rues de Babylone! (Ⅱ)
- Thus the slain shall fall in the land of the Chaldeans, and they that are thrust through in her streets. (Ⅲ)
- ‫ 4  ׃51  ונפלו חללים בארץ כשדים ומדקרים בחוצותיה ‬ (Ⅴ)
51. 5  
Quoniam non fuit viduatus Israël et Juda/ a Deo suo, Domino exercituum,/ terra autem eorum repleta est delicto/ a Sancto Israël./
- Car Israël et Juda ne sont point abandonnés de leur Dieu, De l'Éternel des armées, Et le pays des Chaldéens est rempli de crimes Contre le Saint d'Israël. (Ⅱ)
- For Israel hath not been forsaken, nor Judah of his God, of the LORD of hosts; though their land was filled with sin against the Holy One of Israel. (Ⅲ)
- ‫ 5  ׃51  כי לא אלמן ישראל ויהודה מאלהיו מיהוה צבאות כי ארצם מלאה אשם מקדוש ישראל ‬ (Ⅴ)
51. 6  
Fugite de medio Babylonis,/ et salvet unusquisque animam suam :/ nolite tacere super iniquitatem ejus,/ quoniam tempus ultionis est a Domino :/ vicissitudinem ipse retribuet ei./
- Fuyez de Babylone, et que chacun sauve sa vie, De peur que vous ne périssiez dans sa ruine! Car c'est un temps de vengeance pour l'Éternel; Il va lui rendre selon ses oeuvres. (Ⅱ)
- Flee out of the midst of Babylon, and deliver every man his soul: be not cut off in her iniquity; for this is the time of the LORD's vengeance; he will render unto her a recompence. (Ⅲ)
- ‫ 6  ׃51  נסו מתוך בבל ומלטו איש נפשו אל תדמו בעונה כי עת נקמה היא ליהוה גמול הוא משלם לה ‬ (Ⅴ)
51. 7  
Calix aureus Babylon in manu Domini,/ inebrians omnem terram :/ de vino ejus biberunt gentes,/ et ideo commotæ sunt./
- Babylone était dans la main de l'Éternel une coupe d'or, Qui enivrait toute la terre; Les nations ont bu de son vin: C'est pourquoi les nations ont été comme en délire. (Ⅱ)
- Babylon hath been a golden cup in the LORD's hand, that made all the earth drunken: the nations have drunken of her wine; therefore the nations are mad. (Ⅲ)
- ‫ 7  ׃51  כוס זהב בבל ביד יהוה משכרת כל הארץ מיינה שתו גוים על כן יתהללו גוים ‬ (Ⅴ)
51. 8  
Subito cecidit Babylon, et contrita est./ Ululate super eam :/ tollite resinam ad dolorem ejus,/ si forte sanetur./
- Soudain Babylone tombe, elle est brisée! Gémissez sur elle, prenez du baume pour sa plaie: Peut-être guérira-t-elle. - (Ⅱ)
- Babylon is suddenly fallen and destroyed: howl for her; take balm for her pain, if so be she may be healed. (Ⅲ)
- ‫ 8  ׃51  פתאם נפלה בבל ותשבר הילילו עליה קחו צרי למכאובה אולי תרפא ‬ (Ⅴ)
51. 9  
Curavimus Babylonem, et non est sanata :/ derelinquamus eam, et eamus unusquisque in terram suam :/ quoniam pervenit usque ad cælos judicium ejus,/ et elevatum est usque ad nubes./
- Nous avons voulu guérir Babylone, mais elle n'a pas guéri. Abandonnons-la, et allons chacun dans son pays; Car son châtiment atteint jusqu'aux cieux, Et s'élève jusqu'aux nues. (Ⅱ)
- We would have healed Babylon, but she is not healed: forsake her, and let us go every one into his own country: for her judgment reacheth unto heaven, and is lifted up even to the skies. (Ⅲ)
- ‫ 9  ׃51  *רפאנו **רפינו את בבל ולא נרפתה עזבוה ונלך איש לארצו כי נגע אל השמים משפטה ונשא עד שחקים ‬ (Ⅴ)
51. 10  
Protulit Dominus justitias nostras :/ venite, et narremus in Sion opus Domini Dei nostri./
- L'Éternel manifeste la justice de notre cause; Venez, et racontons dans Sion L'oeuvre de l'Éternel, notre Dieu. (Ⅱ)
- The LORD hath brought forth our righteousness: come, and let us declare in Zion the work of the LORD our God. (Ⅲ)
- ‫ 10 ׃51  הוציא יהוה את צדקתינו באו ונספרה בציון את מעשה יהוה אלהינו ‬ (Ⅴ)
51. 11  
Acuite sagittas, implete pharetras :/ suscitavit Dominus spiritum regum Medorum :/ et contra Babylonem mens ejus est ut perdat eam,/ quoniam ultio Domini est,/ ultio templi sui./
- Aiguisez les flèches, saisissez les boucliers! L'Éternel a excité l'esprit des rois de Médie, Parce qu'il veut détruire Babylone; Car c'est la vengeance de l'Éternel, La vengeance de son temple. (Ⅱ)
- Make bright the arrows; gather the shields: the LORD hath raised up the spirit of the kings of the Medes: for his device is against Babylon, to destroy it; because it is the vengeance of the LORD, the vengeance of his temple. (Ⅲ)
- ‫ 11 ׃51  הברו החצים מלאו השלטים העיר יהוה את רוח מלכי מדי כי על בבל מזמתו להשחיתה כי נקמת יהוה היא נקמת היכלו ‬ (Ⅴ)
51. 12  
Super muros Babylonis levate signum,/ augete custodiam, levate custodes,/ præparate insidias :/ quia cogitavit Dominus,/ et fecit quæcumque locutus est contra habitatores Babylonis./
- Élevez une bannière contre les murs de Babylone! Fortifiez les postes, placez des gardes, dressez des embuscades! Car l'Éternel a pris une résolution, Et il exécute ce qu'il a prononcé contre les habitants de Babylone. (Ⅱ)
- Set up the standard upon the walls of Babylon, make the watch strong, set up the watchmen, prepare the ambushes: for the LORD hath both devised and done that which he spake against the inhabitants of Babylon. (Ⅲ)
- ‫ 12 ׃51  אל חומת בבל שאו נס החזיקו המשמר הקימו שמרים הכינו הארבים כי גם זמם יהוה גם עשה את אשר דבר אל ישבי בבל ‬ (Ⅴ)
51. 13  
Quæ habitas super aquas multas,/ locuples in thesauris :/ venit finis tuus, pedalis præcisionis tuæ./
- Toi qui habites près des grandes eaux, Et qui as d'immenses trésors, Ta fin est venue, ta cupidité est à son terme! (Ⅱ)
- O thou that dwellest upon many waters, abundant in treasures, thine end is come, and the measure of thy covetousness. (Ⅲ)
- ‫ 13 ׃51  *שכנתי **שכנת על מים רבים רבת אוצרת בא קצך אמת בצעך ‬ (Ⅴ)
51. 14  
Juravit Dominus exercituum per animam suam :/ Quoniam replebo te hominibus quasi brucho,/ et super te celeuma cantabitur./
- L'Éternel des armées l'a juré par lui-même: Oui, je te remplirai d'hommes comme de sauterelles, Et ils pousseront contre toi des cris de guerre. (Ⅱ)
- The LORD of hosts hath sworn by himself, saying, Surely I will fill thee with men, as with caterpillers; and they shall lift up a shout against thee. (Ⅲ)
- ‫ 14 ׃51  נשבע יהוה צבאות בנפשו כי אם מלאתיך אדם כילק וענו עליך הידד ס‬ (Ⅴ)
51. 15  
Qui fecit terram in fortitudine sua,/ præparavit orbem in sapientia sua,/ et prudentia sua extendit cælos./
- Il a crée la terre par sa puissance, Il a fondé le monde par sa sagesse, Il a étendu les cieux par son intelligence. (Ⅱ)
- He hath made the earth by his power, he hath established the world by his wisdom, and hath stretched out the heaven by his understanding. (Ⅲ)
- ‫ 15 ׃51  עשה ארץ בכחו מכין תבל בחכמתו ובתבונתו נטה שמים ‬ (Ⅴ)
51. 16  
Dante eo vocem, multiplicantur aquæ in cælo :/ qui levat nubes ab extremo terræ,/ fulgura in pluviam fecit,/ et produxit ventum de thesauris suis./
- A sa voix, les eaux mugissent dans les cieux, Il fait monter les nuages des extrémités de la terre, Il produit les éclairs et la pluie, Il tire le vent de ses trésors. (Ⅱ)
- When he uttereth his voice, there is a multitude of waters in the heavens; and he causeth the vapours to ascend from the ends of the earth: he maketh lightnings with rain, and bringeth forth the wind out of his treasures. (Ⅲ)
- ‫ 16 ׃51  לקול תתו המון מים בשמים ויעל נשאים מקצה ארץ ברקים למטר עשה ויצא רוח מאצרתיו ‬ (Ⅴ)
51. 17  
Stultus factus est omnis homo a scientia ;/ confusus est omnis conflator in sculptili :/ quia mendax est conflatio eorum,/ nec est spiritus in eis./
- Tout homme devient stupide par sa science, Tout orfèvre est honteux de son image taillée; Car ses idoles ne sont que mensonge, Il n'y a point en elles de souffle. (Ⅱ)
- Every man is brutish by his knowledge; every founder is confounded by the graven image: for his molten image is falsehood, and there is no breath in them. (Ⅲ)
- ‫ 17 ׃51  נבער כל אדם מדעת הביש כל צרף מפסל כי שקר נסכו ולא רוח בם ‬ (Ⅴ)
51. 18  
Vana sunt opera, et risu digna :/ in tempore visitationis suæ peribunt./
- Elles sont une chose de néant, une oeuvre de tromperie; Elles périront, quand viendra le châtiment. (Ⅱ)
- They are vanity, the work of errors: in the time of their visitation they shall perish. (Ⅲ)
- ‫ 18 ׃51  הבל המה מעשה תעתעים בעת פקדתם יאבדו ‬ (Ⅴ)
51. 19  
Non sicut hæc, pars Jacob,/ quia qui fecit omnia ipse est :/ et Israël sceptrum hæreditatis ejus :/ Dominus exercituum nomen ejus./
- Celui qui est la part de Jacob n'est pas comme elles; Car c'est lui qui a tout formé, Et Israël est la tribu de son héritage. L'Éternel des armées est son nom. (Ⅱ)
- The portion of Jacob is not like them; for he is the former of all things: and Israel is the rod of his inheritance: the LORD of hosts is his name. (Ⅲ)
- ‫ 19 ׃51  לא כאלה חלק יעקוב כי יוצר הכל הוא ושבט נחלתו יהוה צבאות שמו ס‬ (Ⅴ)
51. 20  
Collidis tu mihi vasa belli :/ et ego collidam in te gentes,/ et disperdam in te regna :/
- Tu as été pour moi un marteau, un instrument de guerre. J'ai brisé par toi des nations, Par toi j'ai détruit des royaumes. (Ⅱ)
- Thou art my battle axe and weapons of war: for with thee will I break in pieces the nations, and with thee will I destroy kingdoms; (Ⅲ)
- ‫ 20 ׃51  מפץ אתה לי כלי מלחמה ונפצתי בך גוים והשחתי בך ממלכות ‬ (Ⅴ)
51. 21  
et collidam in te equum et equitem ejus :/ et collidam in te currum et ascensorem ejus :/
- Par toi j'ai brisé le cheval et son cavalier; Par toi j'ai brisé le char et celui qui était dessus. (Ⅱ)
- And with thee will I break in pieces the horse and his rider; and with thee will I break in pieces the chariot and his rider; (Ⅲ)
- ‫ 21 ׃51  ונפצתי בך סוס ורכבו ונפצתי בך רכב ורכבו ‬ (Ⅴ)
51. 22  
et collidam in te virum et mulierem :/ et collidam in te senem et puerum :/ et collidam in te juvenem et virginem :/
- Par toi j'ai brisé l'homme et la femme; Par toi j'ai brisé le vieillard et l'enfant; Par toi j'ai brisé le jeune homme et la jeune fille. (Ⅱ)
- With thee also will I break in pieces man and woman; and with thee will I break in pieces old and young; and with thee will I break in pieces the young man and the maid; (Ⅲ)
- ‫ 22 ׃51  ונפצתי בך איש ואשה ונפצתי בך זקן ונער ונפצתי בך בחור ובתולה ‬ (Ⅴ)
51. 23  
et collidam in te pastorem et gregem ejus :/ et collidam in te agricolam et jugales ejus :/ et collidam in te duces et magistratus :/
- Par toi j'ai brisé le berger et son troupeau; Par toi j'ai brisé le laboureur et ses boeufs; Par toi j'ai brisé les gouverneurs et les chefs. (Ⅱ)
- I will also break in pieces with thee the shepherd and his flock; and with thee will I break in pieces the husbandman and his yoke of oxen; and with thee will I break in pieces captains and rulers. (Ⅲ)
- ‫ 23 ׃51  ונפצתי בך רעה ועדרו ונפצתי בך אכר וצמדו ונפצתי בך פחות וסגנים ‬ (Ⅴ)
51. 24  
et reddam Babyloni, et cunctis habitatoribus Chaldææ,/ omne malum suum quod fecerunt in Sion,/ in oculis vestris, ait Dominus./
- Je rendrai à Babylone et à tous les habitants de la Chaldée Tout le mal qu'ils ont fait à Sion sous vos yeux, Dit l'Éternel. (Ⅱ)
- And I will render unto Babylon and to all the inhabitants of Chaldea all their evil that they have done in Zion in your sight, saith the LORD. (Ⅲ)
- ‫ 24 ׃51  ושלמתי לבבל ולכל יושבי כשדים את כל רעתם אשר עשו בציון לעיניכם נאם יהוה ס‬ (Ⅴ)
51. 25  
Ecce ego ad te, mons pestifer, ait Dominus,/ qui corrumpis universam terram :/ et extendam manum meam super te,/ et evolvam te de petris,/ et dabo te in montem combustionis :/
- Voici, j'en veux à toi, montagne de destruction, dit l'Éternel, A toi qui détruisais toute la terre! J'étendrai ma main sur toi, Je te roulerai du haut des rochers, Et je ferai de toi une montagne embrasée. (Ⅱ)
- Behold, I am against thee, O destroying mountain, saith the LORD, which destroyest all the earth: and I will stretch out mine hand upon thee, and roll thee down from the rocks, and will make thee a burnt mountain. (Ⅲ)
- ‫ 25 ׃51  הנני אליך הר המשחית נאם יהוה המשחית את כל הארץ ונטיתי את ידי עליך וגלגלתיך מן הסלעים ונתתיך להר שרפה ‬ (Ⅴ)
51. 26  
et non tollent de te lapidem in angulum,/ et lapidem in fundamenta :/ sed perditus in æternum eris, ait Dominus./
- On ne tirera de toi ni pierres angulaires, ni pierres pour fondements; Car tu seras à jamais une ruine, dit l'Éternel... (Ⅱ)
- And they shall not take of thee a stone for a corner, nor a stone for foundations; but thou shalt be desolate for ever, saith the LORD. (Ⅲ)
- ‫ 26 ׃51  ולא יקחו ממך אבן לפנה ואבן למוסדות כי שממות עולם תהיה נאם יהוה ‬ (Ⅴ)
51. 27  
Levate signum in terra,/ clangite buccina in gentibus,/ sanctificate super eam gentes,/ annuntiate contra illam regibus Ararat, Menni, et Ascenez :/ numerate contra eam Taphsar,/ adducite equum quasi bruchum aculeatum./
- Élevez une bannière dans le pays! Sonnez de la trompette parmi les nations! Préparez les nations contre elle, Appelez contre elle les royaumes d'Ararat, de Minni et d'Aschkenaz! Établissez contre elle des chefs! Faites avancer des chevaux comme des sauterelles hérissées! (Ⅱ)
- Set ye up a standard in the land, blow the trumpet among the nations, prepare the nations against her, call together against her the kingdoms of Ararat, Minni, and Ashchenaz; appoint a captain against her; cause the horses to come up as the rough caterpillers. (Ⅲ)
- ‫ 27 ׃51  שאו נס בארץ תקעו שופר בגוים קדשו עליה גוים השמיעו עליה ממלכות אררט מני ואשכנז פקדו עליה טפסר העלו סוס כילק סמר ‬ (Ⅴ)
51. 28  
Sanctificate contra eam gentes,/ reges Mediæ, duces ejus, et universos magistratus ejus,/ cunctamque terram potestatis ejus./
- Préparez contre elle les nations, les rois de Médie, Ses gouverneurs et tous ses chefs, Et tout le pays sous leur domination! (Ⅱ)
- Prepare against her the nations with the kings of the Medes, the captains thereof, and all the rulers thereof, and all the land of his dominion. (Ⅲ)
- ‫ 28 ׃51  קדשו עליה גוים את מלכי מדי את פחותיה ואת כל סגניה ואת כל ארץ ממשלתו ‬ (Ⅴ)
51. 29  
Et commovebitur terra et conturbabitur,/ quia evigilabit contra Babylonem cogitatio Domini,/ ut ponat terram Babylonis desertam et inhabitabilem./
- La terre s'ébranle, elle tremble; Car le dessein de l'Éternel contre Babylone s'accomplit; Il va faire du pays de Babylone un désert sans habitants. (Ⅱ)
- And the land shall tremble and sorrow: for every purpose of the LORD shall be performed against Babylon, to make the land of Babylon a desolation without an inhabitant. (Ⅲ)
- ‫ 29 ׃51  ותרעש הארץ ותחל כי קמה על בבל מחשבות יהוה לשום את ארץ בבל לשמה מאין יושב ‬ (Ⅴ)
51. 30  
Cessaverunt fortes Babylonis a prælio ;/ habitaverunt in præsidiis :/ devoratum est robur eorum,/ et facti sunt quasi mulieres :/ incensa sunt tabernacula ejus,/ contriti sunt vectes ejus./
- Les guerriers de Babylone cessent de combattre, Ils se tiennent dans les forteresses; Leur force est épuisée, ils sont comme des femmes. On met le feu aux habitations, On brise les barres. (Ⅱ)
- The mighty men of Babylon have forborn to fight, they have remained in their holds: their might hath failed; they became as women: they have burned her dwellingplaces; her bars are broken. (Ⅲ)
- ‫ 30 ׃51  חדלו גבורי בבל להלחם ישבו במצדות נשתה גבורתם היו לנשים הציתו משכנתיה נשברו בריחיה ‬ (Ⅴ)
51. 31  
Currens obviam currenti veniet,/ et nuntius obvius nuntianti,/ ut annuntiet regi Babylonis/ quia capta est civitas ejus a summo usque ad summum./
- Les courriers se rencontrent, Les messagers se croisent, Pour annoncer au roi de Babylone Que sa ville est prise par tous les côtés, (Ⅱ)
- One post shall run to meet another, and one messenger to meet another, to shew the king of Babylon that his city is taken at one end, (Ⅲ)
- ‫ 31 ׃51  רץ לקראת רץ ירוץ ומגיד לקראת מגיד להגיד למלך בבל כי נלכדה עירו מקצה ‬ (Ⅴ)
51. 32  
Et vada præoccupata sunt,/ et paludes incensæ sunt igni,/ et viri bellatores conturbati sunt./
- Que les passages sont envahis, Les marais embrasés par le feu, Et les hommes de guerre consternés. (Ⅱ)
- And that the passages are stopped, and the reeds they have burned with fire, and the men of war are affrighted. (Ⅲ)
- ‫ 32 ׃51  והמעברות נתפשו ואת האגמים שרפו באש ואנשי המלחמה נבהלו ס‬ (Ⅴ)
51. 33  
Quia hæc dicit Dominus exercituum, Deus Israël :/ Filia Babylonis quasi area,/ tempus trituræ ejus :/ adhuc modicum, et veniet tempus messionis ejus./
- Car ainsi parle l'Éternel des armées, le Dieu d'Israël: La fille de Babylone est comme une aire dans le temps où on la foule; Encore un instant, et le moment de la moisson sera venu pour elle. (Ⅱ)
- For thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; The daughter of Babylon is like a threshingfloor, it is time to thresh her: yet a little while, and the time of her harvest shall come. (Ⅲ)
- ‫ 33 ׃51  כי כה אמר יהוה צבאות אלהי ישראל בת בבל כגרן עת הדריכה עוד מעט ובאה עת הקציר לה ‬ (Ⅴ)
51. 34  
Comedit me, devoravit me Nabuchodonosor rex Babylonis :/ reddidit me quasi vas inane,/ absorbuit me quasi draco,/ replevit ventrem suum teneritudine mea, et ejecit me./
- Nebucadnetsar, roi de Babylone, m'a dévorée, m'a détruite; Il a fait de moi un vase vide; Tel un dragon, il m'a engloutie, Il a rempli son ventre de ce que j'avais de précieux; Il m'a chassée. (Ⅱ)
- Nebuchadrezzar the king of Babylon hath devoured me, he hath crushed me, he hath made me an empty vessel, he hath swallowed me up like a dragon, he hath filled his belly with my delicates, he hath cast me out. (Ⅲ)
- ‫ 34 ׃51  *אכלנו **אכלני *הממנו **הממני נבוכדראצר מלך בבל *הציגנו **הציגני כלי ריק *בלענו **בלעני כתנין מלא כרשו מעדני *הדיחנו **הדיחני ‬ (Ⅴ)
51. 35  
Iniquitas adversum me/ et caro mea super Babylonem,/ dicit habitatio Sion :/ et sanguis meus super habitatores Chaldææ, dicit Jerusalem./
- Que la violence envers moi et ma chair déchirée retombent sur Babylone! Dit l'habitante de Sion. Que mon sang retombe sur les habitants de la Chaldée! Dit Jérusalem. - (Ⅱ)
- The violence done to me and to my flesh be upon Babylon, shall the inhabitant of Zion say; and my blood upon the inhabitants of Chaldea, shall Jerusalem say. (Ⅲ)
- ‫ 35 ׃51  חמסי ושארי על בבל תאמר ישבת ציון ודמי אל ישבי כשדים תאמר ירושלם ס‬ (Ⅴ)
51. 36  
Propterea hæc dicit Dominus :/ Ecce ego judicabo causam tuam,/ et ulciscar ultionem tuam :/ et desertum faciam mare ejus,/ et siccabo venam ejus./
- C'est pourquoi ainsi parle l'Éternel: Voici, je défendrai ta cause, Je te vengerai! Je mettrai à sec la mer de Babylone, Et je ferai tarir sa source. (Ⅱ)
- Therefore thus saith the LORD; Behold, I will plead thy cause, and take vengeance for thee; and I will dry up her sea, and make her springs dry. (Ⅲ)
- ‫ 36 ׃51  לכן כה אמר יהוה הנני רב את ריבך ונקמתי את נקמתך והחרבתי את ימה והבשתי את מקורה ‬ (Ⅴ)
51. 37  
Et erit Babylon in tumulos,/ habitatio draconum, stupor et sibilus,/ eo quod non sit habitator./
- Babylone sera un monceau de ruines, un repaire de chacals, Un objet de désolation et de moquerie; Il n'y aura plus d'habitants. (Ⅱ)
- And Babylon shall become heaps, a dwellingplace for dragons, an astonishment, and an hissing, without an inhabitant. (Ⅲ)
- ‫ 37 ׃51  והיתה בבל לגלים מעון תנים שמה ושרקה מאין יושב ‬ (Ⅴ)
51. 38  
Simul ut leones rugient ;/ excutient comas veluti catuli leonum./
- Ils rugiront ensemble comme des lions, Ils pousseront des cris comme des lionceaux. (Ⅱ)
- They shall roar together like lions: they shall yell as lions' whelps. (Ⅲ)
- ‫ 38 ׃51  יחדו ככפרים ישאגו נערו כגורי אריות ‬ (Ⅴ)
51. 39  
In calore eorum ponam potus eorum,/ et inebriabo eos ut sopiantur,/ et dormiant somnum sempiternum,/ et non consurgant, dicit Dominus./
- Quand ils seront échauffés, je les ferai boire, Et je les enivrerai, pour qu'ils se livrent à la gaîté, Puis s'endorment d'un sommeil éternel, et ne se réveillent plus, Dit l'Éternel. (Ⅱ)
- In their heat I will make their feasts, and I will make them drunken, that they may rejoice, and sleep a perpetual sleep, and not wake, saith the LORD. (Ⅲ)
- ‫ 39 ׃51  בחמם אשית את משתיהם והשכרתים למען יעלזו וישנו שנת עולם ולא יקיצו נאם יהוה ‬ (Ⅴ)
51. 40  
Deducam eos quasi agnos ad victimam,/ et quasi arietes cum hædis./
- Je les ferai descendre comme des agneaux à la tuerie, Comme des béliers et des boucs. (Ⅱ)
- I will bring them down like lambs to the slaughter, like rams with he goats. (Ⅲ)
- ‫ 40 ׃51  אורידם ככרים לטבוח כאילים עם עתודים ‬ (Ⅴ)
51. 41  
Quomodo capta est Sesach,/ et comprehensa est inclyta universæ terræ !/ quomodo facta est in stuporem Babylon inter gentes !/
- Eh quoi! Schéschac est prise! Celle dont la gloire remplissait toute la terre est conquise! Eh quoi! Babylone est détruite au milieu des nations! (Ⅱ)
- How is Sheshach taken! and how is the praise of the whole earth surprised! how is Babylon become an astonishment among the nations! (Ⅲ)
- ‫ 41 ׃51  איך נלכדה ששך ותתפש תהלת כל הארץ איך היתה לשמה בבל בגוים ‬ (Ⅴ)
51. 42  
Ascendit super Babylonem mare :/ multitudine fluctuum ejus operta est./
- La mer est montée sur Babylone: Babylone a été couverte par la multitude de ses flots. (Ⅱ)
- The sea is come up upon Babylon: she is covered with the multitude of the waves thereof. (Ⅲ)
- ‫ 42 ׃51  עלה על בבל הים בהמון גליו נכסתה ‬ (Ⅴ)
51. 43  
Factæ sunt civitates ejus in stuporem,/ terra inhabitabilis et deserta,/ terra in qua nullus habitet,/ nec transeat per eam filius hominis./
- Ses villes sont ravagées, La terre est aride et déserte; C'est un pays où personne n'habite, Où ne passe aucun homme. (Ⅱ)
- Her cities are a desolation, a dry land, and a wilderness, a land wherein no man dwelleth, neither doth any son of man pass thereby. (Ⅲ)
- ‫ 43 ׃51  היו עריה לשמה ארץ ציה וערבה ארץ לא ישב בהן כל איש ולא יעבר בהן בן אדם ‬ (Ⅴ)
51. 44  
Et visitabo super Bel in Babylone,/ et ejiciam quod absorbuerat de ore ejus :/ et non confluent ad eum ultra gentes,/ siquidem et murus Babylonis corruet./
- Je châtierai Bel à Babylone, J'arracherai de sa bouche ce qu'il a englouti, Et les nations n'afflueront plus vers lui. La muraille même de Babylone est tombée! (Ⅱ)
- And I will punish Bel in Babylon, and I will bring forth out of his mouth that which he hath swallowed up: and the nations shall not flow together any more unto him: yea, the wall of Babylon shall fall. (Ⅲ)
- ‫ 44 ׃51  ופקדתי על בל בבבל והצאתי את בלעו מפיו ולא ינהרו אליו עוד גוים גם חומת בבל נפלה ‬ (Ⅴ)
51. 45  
Egredimini de medio ejus, populus meus,/ ut salvet unusquisque animam suam ab ira furoris Domini,/
- Sortez du milieu d'elle, mon peuple, Et que chacun sauve sa vie, En échappant à la colère ardente de l'Éternel! (Ⅱ)
- My people, go ye out of the midst of her, and deliver ye every man his soul from the fierce anger of the LORD. (Ⅲ)
- ‫ 45 ׃51  צאו מתוכה עמי ומלטו איש את נפשו מחרון אף יהוה ‬ (Ⅴ)
51. 46  
et ne forte mollescat cor vestrum,/ et timeatis auditum qui audietur in terra :/ et veniet in anno auditio,/ et post hunc annum auditio,/ et iniquitas in terra,/ et dominator super dominatorem./
- Que votre coeur ne se trouble point, et ne vous effrayez pas Des bruits qui se répandront dans le pays; Car cette année surviendra un bruit, Et l'année suivante un autre bruit, La violence régnera dans le pays, Et un dominateur s'élèvera contre un autre dominateur. (Ⅱ)
- And lest your heart faint, and ye fear for the rumour that shall be heard in the land; a rumour shall both come one year, and after that in another year shall come a rumour, and violence in the land, ruler against ruler. (Ⅲ)
- ‫ 46 ׃51  ופן ירך לבבכם ותיראו בשמועה הנשמעת בארץ ובא בשנה השמועה ואחריו בשנה השמועה וחמס בארץ ומשל על משל ‬ (Ⅴ)
51. 47  
Propterea ecce dies veniunt,/ et visitabo super sculptilia Babylonis,/ et omnis terra ejus confundetur,/ et universi interfecti ejus cadent in medio ejus./
- C'est pourquoi voici, les jours viennent Où je châtierai les idoles de Babylone, Et tout son pays sera couvert de honte; Tout ses morts tomberont au milieu d'elle. (Ⅱ)
- Therefore, behold, the days come, that I will do judgment upon the graven images of Babylon: and her whole land shall be confounded, and all her slain shall fall in the midst of her. (Ⅲ)
- ‫ 47 ׃51  לכן הנה ימים באים ופקדתי על פסילי בבל וכל ארצה תבוש וכל חלליה יפלו בתוכה ‬ (Ⅴ)
51. 48  
Et laudabunt super Babylonem cæli et terra,/ et omnia quæ in eis sunt :/ quia ab aquilone venient ei prædones, ait Dominus./
- Sur Babylone retentiront les cris de joie des cieux et de la terre, Et de tout ce qu'ils renferment; Car du septentrion les dévastateurs fondront sur elle, Dit l'Éternel. (Ⅱ)
- Then the heaven and the earth, and all that is therein, shall sing for Babylon: for the spoilers shall come unto her from the north, saith the LORD. (Ⅲ)
- ‫ 48 ׃51  ורננו על בבל שמים וארץ וכל אשר בהם כי מצפון יבוא לה השודדים נאם יהוה ‬ (Ⅴ)
51. 49  
Et quomodo fecit Babylon,/ ut caderent occisi in Israël,/ sic de Babylone/ cadent occisi in universa terra./
- Babylone aussi tombera, ô morts d'Israël, Comme elle a fait tomber les morts de tout le pays. (Ⅱ)
- As Babylon hath caused the slain of Israel to fall, so at Babylon shall fall the slain of all the earth. (Ⅲ)
- ‫ 49 ׃51  גם בבל לנפל חללי ישראל גם לבבל נפלו חללי כל הארץ ‬ (Ⅴ)
51. 50  
Qui fugistis gladium, venite,/ nolite stare :/ recordamini procul Domini,/ et Jerusalem ascendat super cor vestrum./
- Vous qui avez échappé au glaive, partez, ne tardez pas! De la terre lointaine, pensez à l'Éternel, Et que Jérusalem soit présente à vos coeurs! - (Ⅱ)
- Ye that have escaped the sword, go away, stand not still: remember the LORD afar off, and let Jerusalem come into your mind. (Ⅲ)
- ‫ 50 ׃51  פלטים מחרב הלכו אל תעמדו זכרו מרחוק את יהוה וירושלם תעלה על לבבכם ‬ (Ⅴ)
