Quæ cum audisset Adonisedec rex Jerusalem, quod scilicet cepisset Josue Hai, et subvertisset eam (sicut enim fecerat Jericho et regi ejus, sic fecit Hai et regi illius), et quod transfugissent Gabaonitæ ad Israël, et essent fœderati eorum,
- Adoni Tsédek, roi de Jérusalem, apprit que Josué s'était emparé d'Aï et l'avait dévouée par interdit, qu'il avait traité Aï et son roi comme il avait traité Jéricho et son roi, et que les habitants de Gabaon avaient fait la paix avec Israël et étaient au milieu d'eux. (Ⅱ) - Now it came to pass, when Adonizedec king of Jerusalem had heard how Joshua had taken Ai, and had utterly destroyed it; as he had done to Jericho and her king, so he had done to Ai and her king; and how the inhabitants of Gibeon had made peace with Israel, and were among them; (Ⅲ) - ὡς δὲ ἤκουσεν Αδωνιβεζεκ βασιλεὺς Ιερουσαλημ ὅτι ἔλαβεν 'Ιησου̃ς τὴν Γαι καὶ ἐξωλέθρευσεν αὐτήν ὃν τρόπον ἐποίησαν τὴν Ιεριχω καὶ τὸν βασιλέα αὐτη̃ς οὕτως ἐποίησαν τὴν Γαι καὶ τὸν βασιλέα αὐτη̃ς καὶ ὅτι αὐτομόλησαν οἱ κατοικου̃ντες Γαβαων πρὸς 'Ιησου̃ν καὶ πρὸς Ισραηλ (Ⅳ) - 1 ׃10 ויהי כשמע אדני צדק מלך ירושלם כי לכד יהושע את העי ויחרימה כאשר עשה ליריחו ולמלכה כן עשה לעי ולמלכה וכי השלימו ישבי גבעון את ישראל ויהיו בקרבם (Ⅴ)

timuit valde. Urbs enim magna erat Gabaon, et una civitatum regalium, et major oppido Hai, omnesque bellatores ejus fortissimi.
- Il eut alors une forte crainte; car Gabaon était une grande ville, comme une des villes royales, plus grande même qu'Aï, et tous ses hommes étaient vaillants. (Ⅱ) - That they feared greatly, because Gibeon was a great city, as one of the royal cities, and because it was greater than Ai, and all the men thereof were mighty. (Ⅲ) - καὶ ἐφοβήθησαν ἐν αὐτοι̃ς σφόδρα ἤ̨δει γὰρ ὅτι μεγάλη πόλις Γαβαων ὡσεὶ μία τω̃ν μητροπόλεων καὶ πάντες οἱ ἄνδρες αὐτη̃ς ἰσχυροί (Ⅳ) - 2 ׃10 וייראו מאד כי עיר גדולה גבעון כאחת ערי הממלכה וכי היא גדולה מן העי וכל אנשיה גברים (Ⅴ)

Misit ergo Adonisedec rex Jerusalem ad Oham regem Hebron, et ad Pharam regem Jerimoth, ad Japhia quoque regem Lachis, et ad Dabir regem Eglon, dicens :
- Adoni Tsédek, roi de Jérusalem, fit dire à Hoham, roi d'Hébron, à Piream, roi de Jarmuth, à Japhia, roi de Lakis, et à Debir, roi d'Églon: (Ⅱ) - Wherefore Adonizedec king of Jerusalem, sent unto Hoham king of Hebron, and unto Piram king of Jarmuth, and unto Japhia king of Lachish, and unto Debir king of Eglon, saying, (Ⅲ) - καὶ ἀπέστειλεν Αδωνιβεζεκ βασιλεὺς Ιερουσαλημ πρὸς Αιλαμ βασιλέα Χεβρων καὶ πρὸς Φιδων βασιλέα Ιεριμουθ καὶ πρὸς Ιεφθα βασιλέα Λαχις καὶ πρὸς Δαβιρ βασιλέα Οδολλαμ λέγων (Ⅳ) - 3 ׃10 וישלח אדני צדק מלך ירושלם אל הוהם מלך חברון ואל פראם מלך ירמות ואל יפיע מלך לכיש ואל דביר מלך עגלון לאמר (Ⅴ)

Ad me ascendite, et ferte præsidium, ut expugnemus Gabaon, quare transfugerit ad Josue, et ad filios Israël.
- Montez vers moi, et aidez-moi, afin que nous frappions Gabaon, car elle a fait la paix avec Josué et avec les enfants d'Israël. (Ⅱ) - Come up unto me, and help me, that we may smite Gibeon: for it hath made peace with Joshua and with the children of Israel. (Ⅲ) - δευ̃τε ἀνάβητε πρός με καὶ βοηθήσατέ μοι καὶ ἐκπολεμήσωμεν Γαβαων αὐτομόλησαν γὰρ πρὸς 'Ιησου̃ν καὶ πρὸς τοὺς υἱοὺς Ισραηλ (Ⅳ) - 4 ׃10 עלו אלי ועזרני ונכה את גבעון כי השלימה את יהושע ואת בני ישראל (Ⅴ)

Congregati igitur ascenderunt quinque reges Amorrhæorum : rex Jerusalem, rex Hebron, rex Jerimoth, rex Lachis, rex Eglon, simul cum exercitibus suis : et castrametati sunt circa Gabaon, oppugnantes eam.\
- Cinq rois des Amoréens, le roi de Jérusalem, le roi d'Hébron, le roi de Jarmuth, le roi de Lakis, le roi d'Églon, se réunirent ainsi et montèrent avec toutes leurs armées; ils vinrent camper près de Gabaon, et l'attaquèrent. (Ⅱ) - Therefore the five kings of the Amorites, the king of Jerusalem, the king of Hebron, the king of Jarmuth, the king of Lachish, the king of Eglon, gathered themselves together, and went up, they and all their hosts, and encamped before Gibeon, and made war against it. (Ⅲ) - καὶ ἀνέβησαν οἱ πέντε βασιλει̃ς τω̃ν Ιεβουσαίων βασιλεὺς Ιερουσαλημ καὶ βασιλεὺς Χεβρων καὶ βασιλεὺς Ιεριμουθ καὶ βασιλεὺς Λαχις καὶ βασιλεὺς Οδολλαμ αὐτοὶ καὶ πα̃ς ὁ λαὸς αὐτω̃ν καὶ περιεκάθισαν τὴν Γαβαων καὶ ἐξεπολιόρκουν αὐτήν (Ⅳ) - 5 ׃10 ויאספו ויעלו חמשת מלכי האמרי מלך ירושלם מלך חברון מלך ירמות מלך לכיש מלך עגלון הם וכל מחניהם ויחנו על גבעון וילחמו עליה (Ⅴ)

Habitatores autem Gabaon urbis obsessæ miserunt ad Josue, qui tunc morabatur in castris apud Galgalam, et dixerunt ei : Ne retrahas manus tuas ab auxilio servorum tuorum : ascende cito, et libera nos, ferque præsidium : convenerunt enim adversum nos omnes reges Amorrhæorum, qui habitant in montanis.
- Les gens de Gabaon envoyèrent dire à Josué, au camp de Guilgal: N'abandonne pas tes serviteurs, monte vers nous en hâte, délivre-nous, donne-nous du secours; car tous les rois des Amoréens, qui habitent la montagne, se sont réunis contre nous. (Ⅱ) - And the men of Gibeon sent unto Joshua to the camp to Gilgal, saying, Slack not thy hand from thy servants; come up to us quickly, and save us, and help us: for all the kings of the Amorites that dwell in the mountains are gathered together against us. (Ⅲ) - καὶ ἀπέστειλαν οἱ κατοικου̃ντες Γαβαων πρὸς 'Ιησου̃ν εἰς τὴν παρεμβολὴν Ισραηλ εἰς Γαλγαλα λέγοντες μὴ ἐκλύση̨ς τὰς χει̃ράς σου ἀπὸ τω̃ν παίδων σου ἀνάβηθι πρὸς ἡμα̃ς τὸ τάχος καὶ ἐξελου̃ ἡμα̃ς καὶ βοήθησον ἡμι̃ν ὅτι συνηγμένοι εἰσὶν ἐφ' ἡμα̃ς πάντες οἱ βασιλει̃ς τω̃ν Αμορραίων οἱ κατοικου̃ντες τὴν ὀρεινήν (Ⅳ) - 6 ׃10 וישלחו אנשי גבעון אל יהושע אל המחנה הגלגלה לאמר אל תרף ידיך מעבדיך עלה אלינו מהרה והושיעה לנו ועזרנו כי נקבצו אלינו כל מלכי האמרי ישבי ההר (Ⅴ)

Ascenditque Josue de Galgalis, et omnis exercitus bellatorum cum eo, viri fortissimi.
- Josué monta de Guilgal, lui et tous les gens de guerre avec lui, et tous les vaillants hommes. (Ⅱ) - So Joshua ascended from Gilgal, he, and all the people of war with him, and all the mighty men of valor. (Ⅲ) - καὶ ἀνέβη 'Ιησου̃ς ἐκ Γαλγαλων αὐτὸς καὶ πα̃ς ὁ λαὸς ὁ πολεμιστὴς μετ' αὐτου̃ πα̃ς δυνατὸς ἐν ἰσχύι (Ⅳ) - 7 ׃10 ויעל יהושע מן הגלגל הוא וכל עם המלחמה עמו וכל גבורי החיל פ (Ⅴ)

Dixitque Dominus ad Josue : Ne timeas eos : in manus enim tuas tradidi illos : nullus ex eis tibi resistere poterit.
- L'Éternel dit à Josué: Ne les crains point, car je les livre entre tes mains, et aucun d'eux ne tiendra devant toi. (Ⅱ) - And the LORD said unto Joshua, Fear them not: for I have delivered them into thine hand; there shall not a man of them stand before thee. (Ⅲ) - καὶ εἰ̃πεν κύριος πρὸς 'Ιησου̃ν μὴ φοβηθη̨̃ς αὐτούς εἰς γὰρ τὰς χει̃ράς σου παραδέδωκα αὐτούς οὐχ ὑπολειφθήσεται ἐξ αὐτω̃ν οὐθεὶς ἐνώπιον ὑμω̃ν (Ⅳ) - 8 ׃10 ויאמר יהוה אל יהושע אל תירא מהם כי בידך נתתים לא יעמד איש מהם בפניך (Ⅴ)

Irruit itaque Josue super eos repente, tota nocte ascendens de Galgalis.
- Josué arriva subitement sur eux, après avoir marché toute la nuit depuis Guilgal. (Ⅱ) - Joshua therefore came unto them suddenly, and went up from Gilgal all night. (Ⅲ) - καὶ ἐπιπαρεγένετο ἐπ' αὐτοὺς 'Ιησου̃ς ἄφνω ὅλην τὴν νύκτα εἰσεπορεύθη ἐκ Γαλγαλων (Ⅳ) - 9 ׃10 ויבא אליהם יהושע פתאם כל הלילה עלה מן הגלגל (Ⅴ)

Et conturbavit eos Dominus a facie Israël : contrivitque plaga magna in Gabaon, ac persecutus est eos per viam ascensus Bethoron, et percussit usque Azeca et Maceda.
- L'Éternel les mit en déroute devant Israël; et Israël leur fit éprouver une grande défaite près de Gabaon, les poursuivit sur le chemin qui monte à Beth Horon, et les battit jusqu'à Azéka et à Makkéda. (Ⅱ) - And the LORD discomfited them before Israel, and slew them with a great slaughter at Gibeon, and chased them along the way that goeth up to Bethhoron, and smote them to Azekah, and unto Makkedah. (Ⅲ) - καὶ ἐξέστησεν αὐτοὺς κύριος ἀπὸ προσώπου τω̃ν υἱω̃ν Ισραηλ καὶ συνέτριψεν αὐτοὺς κύριος σύντριψιν μεγάλην ἐν Γαβαων καὶ κατεδίωξαν αὐτοὺς ὁδὸν ἀναβάσεως Ωρωνιν καὶ κατέκοπτον αὐτοὺς ἕως Αζηκα καὶ ἕως Μακηδα (Ⅳ) - 10 ׃10 ויהמם יהוה לפני ישראל ויכם מכה גדולה בגבעון וירדפם דרך מעלה בית חורן ויכם עד עזקה ועד מקדה (Ⅴ)

Cumque fugerent filios Israël, et essent in descensu Bethoron, Dominus misit super eos lapides magnos de cælo usque ad Azeca : et mortui sunt multo plures lapidibus grandinis, quam quos gladio percusserant filii Israël.
- Comme ils fuyaient devant Israël, et qu'ils étaient à la descente de Beth Horon, l'Éternel fit tomber du ciel sur eux de grosses pierres jusqu'à Azéka, et ils périrent; ceux qui moururent par les pierres de grêle furent plus nombreux que ceux qui furent tués avec l'épée par les enfants d'Israël. (Ⅱ) - And it came to pass, as they fled from before Israel, and were in the going down to Bethhoron, that the LORD cast down great stones from heaven upon them unto Azekah, and they died: they were more which died with hailstones than they whom the children of Israel slew with the sword. (Ⅲ) - ἐν τω̨̃ δὲ φεύγειν αὐτοὺς ἀπὸ προσώπου τω̃ν υἱω̃ν Ισραηλ ἐπὶ τη̃ς καταβάσεως Ωρωνιν καὶ κύριος ἐπέρριψεν αὐτοι̃ς λίθους χαλάζης ἐκ του̃ οὐρανου̃ ἕως Αζηκα καὶ ἐγένοντο πλείους οἱ ἀποθανόντες διὰ τοὺς λίθους τη̃ς χαλάζης ἢ οὓς ἀπέκτειναν οἱ υἱοὶ Ισραηλ μαχαίρα̨ ἐν τω̨̃ πολέμω̨ (Ⅳ) - 11 ׃10 ויהי בנסם מפני ישראל הם במורד בית חורן ויהוה השליך עליהם אבנים גדלות מן השמים עד עזקה וימתו רבים אשר מתו באבני הברד מאשר הרגו בני ישראל בחרב ס (Ⅴ)

Tunc locutus est Josue Domino, in die qua tradidit Amorrhæum in conspectu filiorum Israël, dixitque coram eis : [Sol, contra Gabaon ne movearis,/ et luna contra vallem Ajalon./
- Alors Josué parla à l'Éternel, le jour où l'Éternel livra les Amoréens aux enfants d'Israël, et il dit en présence d'Israël: Soleil, arrête-toi sur Gabaon, Et toi, lune, sur la vallée d'Ajalon! (Ⅱ) - Then spake Joshua to the LORD in the day when the LORD delivered up the Amorites before the children of Israel, and he said in the sight of Israel, Sun, stand thou still upon Gibeon; and thou, Moon, in the valley of Ajalon. (Ⅲ) - τότε ἐλάλησεν 'Ιησου̃ς πρὸς κύριον ἡ̨̃ ἡμέρα̨ παρέδωκεν ὁ θεὸς τὸν Αμορραι̃ον ὑποχείριον Ισραηλ ἡνίκα συνέτριψεν αὐτοὺς ἐν Γαβαων καὶ συνετρίβησαν ἀπὸ προσώπου υἱω̃ν Ισραηλ καὶ εἰ̃πεν 'Ιησου̃ς στήτω ὁ ἥλιος κατὰ Γαβαων καὶ ἡ σελήνη κατὰ φάραγγα Αιλων (Ⅳ) - 12 ׃10 אז ידבר יהושע ליהוה ביום תת יהוה את האמרי לפני בני ישראל ויאמר לעיני ישראל שמש בגבעון דום וירח בעמק אילון (Ⅴ)

Steteruntque sol et luna,/ donec ulcisceretur se gens de inimicis suis.] Nonne scriptum est hoc in libro justorum ? Stetit itaque sol in medio cæli, et non festinavit occumbere spatio unius diei.
- Et le soleil s'arrêta, et la lune suspendit sa course, Jusqu'à ce que la nation eût tiré vengeance de ses ennemis. Cela n'est-il pas écrit dans le livre du Juste? Le soleil s'arrêta au milieu du ciel, Et ne se hâta point de se coucher, presque tout un jour. (Ⅱ) - And the sun stood still, and the moon stayed, until the people had avenged themselves upon their enemies. Is not this written in the book of Jasher? So the sun stood still in the midst of heaven, and hasted not to go down about a whole day. (Ⅲ) - καὶ ἔστη ὁ ἥλιος καὶ ἡ σελήνη ἐν στάσει ἕως ἠμύνατο ὁ θεὸς τοὺς ἐχθροὺς αὐτω̃ν καὶ ἔστη ὁ ἥλιος κατὰ μέσον του̃ οὐρανου̃ οὐ προεπορεύετο εἰς δυσμὰς εἰς τέλος ἡμέρας μια̃ς (Ⅳ) - 13 ׃10 וידם השמש וירח עמד עד יקם גוי איביו הלא היא כתובה על ספר הישר ויעמד השמש בחצי השמים ולא אץ לבוא כיום תמים (Ⅴ)

Non fuit antea nec postea tam longa dies, obediente Domino voci hominis, et pugnante pro Israël.
- Il n'y a point eu de jour comme celui-là, ni avant ni après, où l'Éternel ait écouté la voix d'un homme; car l'Éternel combattait pour Israël. (Ⅱ) - And there was no day like that before it or after it, that the LORD hearkened unto the voice of a man: for the LORD fought for Israel. (Ⅲ) - καὶ οὐκ ἐγένετο ἡμέρα τοιαύτη οὐδὲ τὸ πρότερον οὐδὲ τὸ ἔσχατον ὥστε ἐπακου̃σαι θεὸν ἀνθρώπου ὅτι κύριος συνεπολέμησεν τω̨̃ Ισραηλ (Ⅳ) - 14 ׃10 ולא היה כיום ההוא לפניו ואחריו לשמע יהוה בקול איש כי יהוה נלחם לישראל פ (Ⅴ)

Reversusque est Josue cum omni Israël in castra Galgalæ.\
- Et Josué, et tout Israël avec lui, retourna au camp à Guilgal. (Ⅱ) - And Joshua returned, and all Israel with him, unto the camp to Gilgal. (Ⅲ) - 15 ׃10 וישב יהושע וכל ישראל עמו אל המחנה הגלגלה (Ⅴ)

- Les cinq rois s'enfuirent, et se cachèrent dans une caverne à Makkéda. (Ⅱ) - But these five kings fled, and hid themselves in a cave at Makkedah. (Ⅲ) - καὶ ἔφυγον οἱ πέντε βασιλει̃ς οὑ̃τοι καὶ κατεκρύβησαν εἰς τὸ σπήλαιον τὸ ἐν Μακηδα (Ⅳ) - 16 ׃10 וינסו חמשת המלכים האלה ויחבאו במערה במקדה (Ⅴ)

Nuntiatumque est Josue quod inventi essent quinque reges latentes in spelunca urbis Maceda.
- On le rapporta à Josué, en disant: Les cinq rois se trouvent cachés dans une caverne à Makkéda. (Ⅱ) - And it was told Joshua, saying, The five kings are found hid in a cave at Makkedah. (Ⅲ) - καὶ ἀπηγγέλη τω̨̃ 'Ιησου̃ λέγοντες εὕρηνται οἱ πέντε βασιλει̃ς κεκρυμμένοι ἐν τω̨̃ σπηλαίω̨ τω̨̃ ἐν Μακηδα (Ⅳ) - 17 ׃10 ויגד ליהושע לאמר נמצאו חמשת המלכים נחבאים במערה במקדה (Ⅴ)

Qui præcepit sociis, et ait : Volvite saxa ingentia ad os speluncæ, et ponite viros industrios, qui clausos custodiant :
- Josué dit: Roulez de grosses pierres à l'entrée de la caverne, et mettez-y des hommes pour les garder. (Ⅱ) - And Joshua said, Roll great stones upon the mouth of the cave, and set men by it for to keep them: (Ⅲ) - καὶ εἰ̃πεν 'Ιησου̃ς κυλίσατε λίθους ἐπὶ τὸ στόμα του̃ σπηλαίου καὶ καταστήσατε ἄνδρας φυλάσσειν ἐπ' αὐτούς (Ⅳ) - 18 ׃10 ויאמר יהושע גלו אבנים גדלות אל פי המערה והפקידו עליה אנשים לשמרם (Ⅴ)

vos autem nolite stare, sed persequimini hostes, et extremos quosque fugientium cædite : nec dimittatis eos urbium suarum intrare præsidia, quos tradidit Dominus Deus in manus vestras.
- Et vous, ne vous arrêtez pas, poursuivez vos ennemis, et attaquez-les par derrière; ne les laissez pas entrer dans leurs villes, car l'Éternel, votre Dieu, les a livrés entre vos mains. (Ⅱ) - And stay ye not, but pursue after your enemies, and smite the hindmost of them; suffer them not to enter into their cities: for the LORD your God hath delivered them into your hand. (Ⅲ) - ὑμει̃ς δὲ μὴ ἑστήκατε καταδιώκοντες ὀπίσω τω̃ν ἐχθρω̃ν ὑμω̃ν καὶ καταλάβετε τὴν οὐραγίαν αὐτω̃ν καὶ μὴ ἀφη̃τε εἰσελθει̃ν εἰς τὰς πόλεις αὐτω̃ν παρέδωκεν γὰρ αὐτοὺς κύριος ὁ θεὸς ἡμω̃ν εἰς τὰς χει̃ρας ἡμω̃ν (Ⅳ) - 19 ׃10 ואתם אל תעמדו רדפו אחרי איביכם וזנבתם אותם אל תתנום לבוא אל עריהם כי נתנם יהוה אלהיכם בידכם (Ⅴ)

Cæsis ergo adversariis plaga magna, et usque ad internecionem pene consumptis, hi qui Israël effugere potuerunt, ingressi sunt civitates munitas.
- Après que Josué et les enfants d'Israël leur eurent fait éprouver une très grande défaite, et les eurent complètement battus, ceux qui purent échapper se sauvèrent dans les villes fortifiées, (Ⅱ) - And it came to pass, when Joshua and the children of Israel had made an end of slaying them with a very great slaughter, till they were consumed, that the rest which remained of them entered into fenced cities. (Ⅲ) - καὶ ἐγένετο ὡς κατέπαυσεν 'Ιησου̃ς καὶ πα̃ς υἱὸς Ισραηλ κόπτοντες αὐτοὺς κοπὴν μεγάλην σφόδρα ἕως εἰς τέλος καὶ οἱ διασω̨ζόμενοι διεσώθησαν εἰς τὰς πόλεις τὰς ὀχυράς (Ⅳ) - 20 ׃10 ויהי ככלות יהושע ובני ישראל להכותם מכה גדולה מאד עד תמם והשרידים שרדו מהם ויבאו אל ערי המבצר (Ⅴ)

Reversusque est omnis exercitus ad Josue in Maceda, ubi tunc erant castra, sani et integro numero : nullusque contra filios Israël mutire ausus est.
- et tout le peuple revint tranquillement au camp vers Josué à Makkéda, sans que personne remuât sa langue contre les enfants d'Israël. (Ⅱ) - And all the people returned to the camp to Joshua at Makkedah in peace: none moved his tongue against any of the children of Israel. (Ⅲ) - καὶ ἀπεστράφη πα̃ς ὁ λαὸς πρὸς 'Ιησου̃ν εἰς Μακηδα ὑγιει̃ς καὶ οὐκ ἔγρυξεν οὐθεὶς τω̃ν υἱω̃ν Ισραηλ τη̨̃ γλώσση̨ αὐτου̃ (Ⅳ) - 21 ׃10 וישבו כל העם אל המחנה אל יהושע מקדה בשלום לא חרץ לבני ישראל לאיש את לשנו (Ⅴ)

Præcepitque Josue, dicens : Aperite os speluncæ, et producite ad me quinque reges, qui in ea latitant.
- Josué dit alors: Ouvrez l'entrée de la caverne, faites-en sortir ces cinq rois, et amenez-les-moi. (Ⅱ) - Then said Joshua, Open the mouth of the cave, and bring out those five kings unto me out of the cave. Feceruntque ministri ut sibi fuerat imperatum : et eduxerunt ad eum quinque reges de spelunca, regem Jerusalem, regem Hebron, regem Jerimoth, regem Lachis, regem Eglon.
- Ils firent ainsi, et lui amenèrent les cinq rois qu'ils avaient fait sortir de la caverne, le roi de Jérusalem, le roi d'Hébron, le roi de Jarmuth, le roi de Lakis, le roi d'Églon. (Ⅱ) - And they did so, and brought forth those five kings unto him out of the cave, the king of Jerusalem, the king of Hebron, the king of Jarmuth, the king of Lachish, and the king of Eglon. Cumque educti essent ad eum, vocavit omnes viros Israël, et ait ad principes exercitus qui secum erant : Ite, et ponite pedes super colla regum istorum. Qui cum perrexissent, et subjectorum colla pedibus calcarent,
- Lorsqu'ils eurent amené ces rois devant Josué, Josué appela tous les hommes d'Israël, et dit aux chefs des gens de guerre qui avaient marché avec lui: Approchez-vous, mettez vos pieds sur les cous de ces rois. Ils s'approchèrent, et ils mirent les pieds sur leurs cous. (Ⅱ) - And it came to pass, when they brought out those kings unto Joshua, that Joshua called for all the men of Israel, and said unto the captains of the men of war which went with him, Come near, put your feet upon the necks of these kings. And they came near, and put their feet upon the necks of them. (Ⅲ) - καὶ ἐπεὶ ἐξήγαγον αὐτοὺς πρὸς 'Ιησου̃ν καὶ συνεκάλεσεν 'Ιησου̃ς πάντα Ισραηλ καὶ τοὺς ἐναρχομένους του̃ πολέμου τοὺς συμπορευομένους αὐτω̨̃ λέγων αὐτοι̃ς προπορεύεσθε καὶ ἐπίθετε τοὺς πόδας ὑμω̃ν ἐπὶ τοὺς τραχήλους αὐτω̃ν καὶ προσελθόντες ἐπέθηκαν τοὺς πόδας αὐτω̃ν ἐπὶ τοὺς τραχήλους αὐτω̃ν (Ⅳ) - 24 ׃10 ויהי כהוציאם את המלכים האלה אל יהושע ויקרא יהושע אל כל איש ישראל ויאמר אל קציני אנשי המלחמה ההלכוא אתו קרבו שימו את רגליכם על צוארי המלכים האלה ויקרבו וישימו את רגליהם על צואריהם (Ⅴ)

rursum ait ad eos : Nolite timere, nec paveatis : confortamini, et estote robusti : sic enim faciet Dominus cunctis hostibus vestris, adversum quos dimicatis.
- Josué leur dit: Ne craignez point et ne vous effrayez point, fortifiez-vous et ayez du courage, car c'est ainsi que l'Éternel traitera tous vos ennemis contre lesquels vous combattez. (Ⅱ) - And Joshua said unto them, Fear not, nor be dismayed, be strong and of good courage: for thus shall the LORD do to all your enemies against whom ye fight. Percussitque Josue, et interfecit eos, atque suspendit super quinque stipites : fueruntque suspensi usque ad vesperum.
- Après cela, Josué les frappa et les fit mourir; il les pendit à cinq arbres, et ils restèrent pendus aux arbres jusqu'au soir. (Ⅱ) - And afterward Joshua smote them, and slew them, and hanged them on five trees: and they were hanging upon the trees until the evening. (Ⅲ) - καὶ ἀπέκτεινεν αὐτοὺς 'Ιησου̃ς καὶ ἐκρέμασεν αὐτοὺς ἐπὶ πέντε ξύλων καὶ ἠ̃σαν κρεμάμενοι ἐπὶ τω̃ν ξύλων ἕως ἑσπέρας (Ⅳ) - 26 ׃10 ויכם יהושע אחרי כן וימיתם ויתלם על חמשה עצים ויהיו תלוים על העצים עד הערב (Ⅴ)

Cumque occumberet sol, præcepit sociis ut deponerent eos de patibulis. Qui depositos projecerunt in speluncam in qua latuerant, et posuerunt super os ejus saxa ingentia, quæ permanent usque in præsens.\
- Vers le coucher du soleil, Josué ordonna qu'on les descendît des arbres, on les jeta dans la caverne où ils s'étaient cachés, et l'on mit à l'entrée de la caverne de grosses pierres, qui y sont demeurées jusqu'à ce jour. (Ⅱ) - And it came to pass at the time of the going down of the sun, that Joshua commanded, and they took them down off the trees, and cast them into the cave wherein they had been hid, and laid great stones in the cave's mouth, which remain until this very day. Eodem quoque die, Macedam cepit Josue, et percussit eam in ore gladii, regemque illius interfecit, et omnes habitatores ejus : non dimisit in ea saltem parvas reliquias. Fecitque regi Maceda sicut fecerat regi Jericho.
- Josué prit Makkéda le même jour, et la frappa du tranchant de l'épée; il dévoua par interdit le roi, la ville et tous ceux qui s'y trouvaient; il n'en laissa échapper aucun, et il traita le roi de Makkéda comme il avait traité le roi de Jéricho. (Ⅱ) - And that day Joshua took Makkedah, and smote it with the edge of the sword, and the king thereof he utterly destroyed, them, and all the souls that were therein; he let none remain: and he did to the king of Makkedah as he did unto the king of Jericho. - L'Éternel la livra aussi, avec son roi, entre les mains d'Israël, et la frappa du tranchant de l'épée, elle et tous ceux qui s'y trouvaient; il n'en laissa échapper aucun, et il traita son roi comme il avait traité le roi de Jéricho. De Lebna transivit in Lachis cum omni Israël : et exercitu per gyrum disposito, oppugnabat eam.
- Josué, et tout Israël avec lui, passa de Libna à Lakis; il campa devant elle, et il l'attaqua. - L'Éternel livra Lakis entre les mains d'Israël, qui la prit le second jour, et la frappa du tranchant de l'épée, elle et tous ceux qui s'y trouvaient, comme il avait traité Libna. (Ⅱ) - And the LORD delivered Lachish into the hand of Israel, which took it on the second day, and smote it with the edge of the sword, and all the souls that were therein, according to all that he had done to Libnah. Eo tempore ascendit Horam rex Gazer, ut auxiliaretur Lachis : quem percussit Josue cum omni populo ejus usque ad internecionem.
- Alors Horam, roi de Guézer, monta pour secourir Lakis. Josué le battit, lui et son peuple, sans laisser échapper personne. (Ⅱ) - Then Horam king of Gezer came up to help Lachish; and Joshua smote him and his people, until he had left him none remaining. (Ⅱ) - And he took it, and the king thereof, and all the cities thereof; and they smote them with the edge of the sword, and utterly destroyed all the souls that were therein; he left none remaining: as he had done to Hebron, so he did to Debir, and to the king thereof; as he had done also to Libnah, and to her king. Percussit itaque Josue omnem terram montanam et meridianam atque campestrem, et Asedoth, cum regibus suis : non dimisit in ea ullas reliquias, sed omne quod spirare poterat interfecit, sicut præceperat ei Dominus Deus Israël,
- Josué battit tout le pays, la montagne, le midi, la plaine et les coteaux, et il en battit tous les rois; il ne laissa échapper personne, et il dévoua par interdit tout ce qui respirait, comme l'avait ordonné l'Éternel, le Dieu d'Israël. (Ⅱ) - So Joshua smote all the country of the hills, and of the south, and of the vale, and of the springs, and all their kings: he left none remaining, but utterly destroyed all that breathed, as the LORD God of Israel commanded. (Ⅲ) - καὶ ἐπάταξεν 'Ιησου̃ς πα̃σαν τὴν γη̃ν τη̃ς ὀρεινη̃ς καὶ τὴν Ναγεβ καὶ τὴν πεδινὴν καὶ τὴν Ασηδωθ καὶ τοὺς βασιλει̃ς αὐτη̃ς οὐ κατέλιπον αὐτω̃ν σεσω̨σμένον καὶ πα̃ν ἐμπνέον ζωη̃ς ἐξωλέθρευσεν ὃν τρόπον ἐνετείλατο κύριος ὁ θεὸς Ισραηλ (Ⅳ) - 40 ׃10 ויכה יהושע את כל הארץ ההר והנגב והשפלה והאשדות ואת כל מלכיהם לא השאיר שריד ואת כל הנשמה החרים כאשר צוה יהוה אלהי ישראל (Ⅴ)

- Josué prit en même temps tous ces rois et leur pays, car l'Éternel, le Dieu d'Israël, combattait pour Israël. (Ⅱ) - And all these kings and their land did Joshua take at one time, because the LORD God of Israel fought for Israel. (Ⅲ) - καὶ πάντας τοὺς βασιλει̃ς αὐτω̃ν καὶ τὴν γη̃ν αὐτω̃ν ἐπάταξεν 'Ιησου̃ς εἰς ἅπαξ ὅτι κύριος ὁ θεὸς Ισραηλ συνεπολέμει τω̨̃ Ισραηλ (Ⅳ) - 42 ׃10 ואת כל המלכים האלה ואת ארצם לכד יהושע פעם אחת כי יהוה אלהי ישראל נלחם לישראל (Ⅴ)
