18. 1  
Μετὰ ταῦτα εἶδον ἄλλον ἄγγελον καταβαίνοντα ἐκ τοῦ οὐρανοῦ, ἔχοντα ἐξουσίαν μεγάλην, καὶ ἡ γῆ ἐφωτίσθη ἐκ τῆς δόξης αὐτοῦ.
- Après cela, je vis descendre du ciel un autre ange, qui avait une grande autorité; et la terre fut éclairée de sa gloire. (Ⅱ)
- And after these things I saw another angel come down from heaven, having great power; and the earth was lightened with his glory. (Ⅲ)
- Et post hæc vidi alium angelum descendentem de cælo, habentem potestatem magnam : et terra illuminata est a gloria ejus. (Ⅳ)
18. 2  
καὶ ἔκραξεν ⸀ἐν ἰσχυρᾷ φωνῇ λέγων· Ἔπεσεν, ⸀ἔπεσεν Βαβυλὼν ἡ μεγάλη, καὶ ἐγένετο κατοικητήριον ⸀δαιμονίων καὶ φυλακὴ παντὸς πνεύματος ἀκαθάρτου καὶ φυλακὴ παντὸς ὀρνέου ἀκαθάρτου ⸂καὶ φυλακὴ παντὸς θηρίου ἀκαθάρτου⸃ καὶ μεμισημένου,
- Il cria d'une voix forte, disant: Elle est tombée, elle est tombée, Babylone la grande! Elle est devenue une habitation de démons, un repaire de tout esprit impur, un repaire de tout oiseau impur et odieux, (Ⅱ)
- And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird. (Ⅲ)
- Et exclamavit in fortitudine, dicens : Cecidit, cecidit Babylon magna : et facta est habitatio dæmoniorum, et custodia omnis spiritus immundi, et custodia omnis volucris immundæ, et odibilis : (Ⅳ)
18. 3  
ὅτι ἐκ τοῦ οἴνου τοῦ θυμοῦ τῆς πορνείας αὐτῆς ⸀πέπτωκαν πάντα τὰ ἔθνη, καὶ οἱ βασιλεῖς τῆς γῆς μετ’ αὐτῆς ἐπόρνευσαν, καὶ οἱ ἔμποροι τῆς γῆς ἐκ τῆς δυνάμεως τοῦ στρήνους αὐτῆς ἐπλούτησαν.
- parce que toutes les nations ont bu du vin de la fureur de son impudicité, et que les rois de la terre se sont livrés avec elle à l'impudicité, et que les marchands de la terre se sont enrichis par la puissance de son luxe. (Ⅱ)
- For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies. (Ⅲ)
- quia de vino iræ fornicationis ejus biberunt omnes gentes : et reges terræ cum illa fornicati sunt : et mercatores terræ de virtute deliciarum ejus divites facti sunt. (Ⅳ)
18. 4  
Καὶ ἤκουσα ἄλλην φωνὴν ἐκ τοῦ οὐρανοῦ λέγουσαν· ⸀Ἐξέλθατε, ⸂ὁ λαός μου, ἐξ αὐτῆς⸃, ἵνα μὴ συγκοινωνήσητε ταῖς ἁμαρτίαις αὐτῆς, καὶ ἐκ τῶν πληγῶν αὐτῆς ἵνα μὴ λάβητε·
- Et j'entendis du ciel une autre voix qui disait: Sortez du milieu d'elle, mon peuple, afin que vous ne participiez point à ses péchés, et que vous n'ayez point de part à ses fléaux. (Ⅱ)
- And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues. (Ⅲ)
- Et audivi aliam vocem de cælo, dicentem : Exite de illa populus meus : ut ne participes sitis delictorum ejus, et de plagis ejus non accipiatis. (Ⅳ)
18. 5  
ὅτι ἐκολλήθησαν αὐτῆς αἱ ἁμαρτίαι ἄχρι τοῦ οὐρανοῦ, καὶ ἐμνημόνευσεν ὁ θεὸς τὰ ἀδικήματα αὐτῆς.
- Car ses péchés se sont accumulés jusqu'au ciel, et Dieu s'est souvenu de ses iniquités. (Ⅱ)
- For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities. (Ⅲ)
- Quoniam pervenerunt peccata ejus usque ad cælum, et recordatus est Dominus iniquitatum ejus. (Ⅳ)
18. 6  
ἀπόδοτε αὐτῇ ὡς καὶ αὐτὴ ἀπέδωκεν, καὶ ⸀διπλώσατε ⸀τὰ διπλᾶ κατὰ τὰ ἔργα αὐτῆς· ἐν τῷ ποτηρίῳ ᾧ ἐκέρασεν κεράσατε αὐτῇ διπλοῦν·
- Payez-la comme elle a payé, et rendez-lui au double selon ses oeuvres. Dans la coupe où elle a versé, versez-lui au double. (Ⅱ)
- Reward her even as she rewarded you, and double unto her double according to her works: in the cup which she hath filled fill to her double. (Ⅲ)
- Reddite illi sicut et ipsa reddidit vobis : et duplicate duplicia secundum opera ejus : in poculo, quo miscuit, miscete illi duplum. (Ⅳ)
18. 7  
ὅσα ἐδόξασεν αὑτὴν καὶ ἐστρηνίασεν, τοσοῦτον δότε αὐτῇ βασανισμὸν καὶ πένθος. ὅτι ἐν τῇ καρδίᾳ αὐτῆς λέγει ὅτι Κάθημαι βασίλισσα, καὶ χήρα οὐκ εἰμί, καὶ πένθος οὐ μὴ ἴδω.
- Autant elle s'est glorifiée et plongée dans le luxe, autant donnez-lui de tourment et de deuil. Parce qu'elle dit en son coeur: Je suis assise en reine, je ne suis point veuve, et je ne verrai point de deuil! (Ⅱ)
- How much she hath glorified herself, and lived deliciously, so much torment and sorrow give her: for she saith in her heart, I sit a queen, and am no widow, and shall see no sorrow. (Ⅲ)
- Quantum glorificavit se, et in deliciis fuit, tantum date illi tormentum et luctum : quia in corde suo dicit : Sedeo regina : et vidua non sum, et luctum non videbo. (Ⅳ)
18. 8  
διὰ τοῦτο ἐν μιᾷ ἡμέρᾳ ἥξουσιν αἱ πληγαὶ αὐτῆς, θάνατος καὶ πένθος καὶ λιμός, καὶ ἐν πυρὶ κατακαυθήσεται· ὅτι ἰσχυρὸς κύριος ὁ θεὸς ὁ κρίνας αὐτήν.
- A cause de cela, en un même jour, ses fléaux arriveront, la mort, le deuil et la famine, et elle sera consumée par le feu. Car il est puissant, le Seigneur Dieu qui l'a jugée. (Ⅱ)
- Therefore shall her plagues come in one day, death, and mourning, and famine; and she shall be utterly burned with fire: for strong is the Lord God who judgeth her. (Ⅲ)
- Ideo in una die venient plagæ ejus, mors, et luctus, et fames, et igne comburetur : quia fortis est Deus, qui judicabit illam. (Ⅳ)
18. 9  
Καὶ κλαύσουσιν καὶ κόψονται ἐπ’ αὐτὴν οἱ βασιλεῖς τῆς γῆς οἱ μετ’ αὐτῆς πορνεύσαντες καὶ στρηνιάσαντες, ὅταν βλέπωσιν τὸν καπνὸν τῆς πυρώσεως αὐτῆς,
- Et tous les rois de la terre, qui se sont livrés avec elle à l'impudicité et au luxe, pleureront et se lamenteront à cause d'elle, quand ils verront la fumée de son embrasement. (Ⅱ)
- And the kings of the earth, who have committed fornication and lived deliciously with her, shall bewail her, and lament for her, when they shall see the smoke of her burning, (Ⅲ)
- Et flebunt, et plangent se super illam reges terræ, qui cum illa fornicati sunt, et in deliciis vixerunt, cum viderint fumum incendii ejus : (Ⅳ)
18. 10  
ἀπὸ μακρόθεν ἑστηκότες διὰ τὸν φόβον τοῦ βασανισμοῦ αὐτῆς λέγοντες· Οὐαὶ οὐαί, ἡ πόλις ἡ μεγάλη, Βαβυλὼν ἡ πόλις ἡ ἰσχυρά, ὅτι μιᾷ ὥρᾳ ἦλθεν ἡ κρίσις σου.
- Se tenant éloignés, dans la crainte de son tourment, ils diront: Malheur! malheur! La grande ville, Babylone, la ville puissante! En une seule heure est venu ton jugement! (Ⅱ)
- Standing afar off for the fear of her torment, saying, Alas, alas that great city Babylon, that mighty city! for in one hour is thy judgment come. (Ⅲ)
- longe stantes propter timorem tormentorum ejus, dicentes : Væ, væ civitas illa magna Babylon, civitas illa fortis : quoniam una hora venit judicium tuum. (Ⅳ)
18. 11  
Καὶ οἱ ἔμποροι τῆς γῆς ⸂κλαίουσιν καὶ πενθοῦσιν⸃ ἐπ’ ⸀αὐτήν, ὅτι τὸν γόμον αὐτῶν οὐδεὶς ἀγοράζει οὐκέτι,
- Et les marchands de la terre pleurent et sont dans le deuil à cause d'elle, parce que personne n'achète plus leur cargaison, (Ⅱ)
- And the merchants of the earth shall weep and mourn over her; for no man buyeth their merchandise any more: (Ⅲ)
- Et negotiatores terræ flebunt, et lugebunt super illam : quoniam merces eorum nemo emet amplius : (Ⅳ)
18. 12  
γόμον χρυσοῦ καὶ ἀργύρου καὶ λίθου τιμίου καὶ ⸀μαργαριτῶν καὶ βυσσίνου καὶ ⸀πορφύρας καὶ σιρικοῦ καὶ κοκκίνου, καὶ πᾶν ξύλον θύϊνον καὶ πᾶν σκεῦος ἐλεφάντινον καὶ πᾶν σκεῦος ἐκ ξύλου τιμιωτάτου καὶ χαλκοῦ καὶ σιδήρου καὶ μαρμάρου,
- cargaison d'or, d'argent, de pierres précieuses, de perles, de fin lin, de pourpre, de soie, d'écarlate, de toute espèce de bois de senteur, de toute espèce d'objets d'ivoire, de toute espèce d'objets en bois très précieux, en airain, en fer et en marbre, (Ⅱ)
- The merchandise of gold, and silver, and precious stones, and of pearls, and fine linen, and purple, and silk, and scarlet, and all thyine wood, and all manner vessels of ivory, and all manner vessels of most precious wood, and of brass, and iron, and marble, (Ⅲ)
- merces auri, et argenti, et lapidis pretiosi, et margaritæ, et byssi, et purpuræ, et serici, et cocci (et omne lignum thyinum, et omnia vasa eboris, et omnia vasa de lapide pretioso, et æramento, et ferro, et marmore, (Ⅳ)
18. 13  
καὶ κιννάμωμον ⸂καὶ ἄμωμον⸃ καὶ θυμιάματα καὶ μύρον καὶ λίβανον καὶ οἶνον καὶ ἔλαιον καὶ σεμίδαλιν καὶ σῖτον καὶ ⸂κτήνη καὶ πρόβατα⸃, καὶ ἵππων καὶ ῥεδῶν καὶ σωμάτων, καὶ ψυχὰς ἀνθρώπων.
- de cinnamome, d'aromates, de parfums, de myrrhe, d'encens, de vin, d'huile, de fine farine, de blé, de boeufs, de brebis, de chevaux, de chars, de corps et d'âmes d'hommes. (Ⅱ)
- And cinnamon, and odours, and ointments, and frankincense, and wine, and oil, and fine flour, and wheat, and beasts, and sheep, and horses, and chariots, and slaves, and souls of men. (Ⅲ)
- et cinnamomum) et odoramentorum, et unguenti, et thuris, et vini, et olei, et similæ, et tritici, et jumentorum, et ovium, et equorum, et rhedarum, et mancipiorum, et animarum hominum. (Ⅳ)
18. 14  
καὶ ἡ ὀπώρα ⸂σου τῆς ἐπιθυμίας τῆς ψυχῆς⸃ ἀπῆλθεν ἀπὸ σοῦ, καὶ πάντα τὰ λιπαρὰ καὶ τὰ λαμπρὰ ἀπώλετο ἀπὸ σοῦ, καὶ ⸀οὐκέτι ⸂οὐ μὴ αὐτὰ εὑρήσουσιν⸃.
- Les fruits que désirait ton âme sont allés loin de toi; et toutes les choses délicates et magnifiques sont perdues pour toi, et tu ne les retrouveras plus. (Ⅱ)
- And the fruits that thy soul lusted after are departed from thee, and all things which were dainty and goodly are departed from thee, and thou shalt find them no more at all. (Ⅲ)
- Et poma desiderii animæ tuæ discesserunt a te, et omnia pinguia et præclara perierunt a te, et amplius illa jam non invenient. (Ⅳ)
18. 15  
οἱ ἔμποροι τούτων, οἱ πλουτήσαντες ἀπ’ αὐτῆς, ἀπὸ μακρόθεν στήσονται διὰ τὸν φόβον τοῦ βασανισμοῦ αὐτῆς κλαίοντες καὶ πενθοῦντες,
- Les marchands de ces choses, qui se sont enrichis par elle, se tiendront éloignés, dans la crainte de son tourment; ils pleureront et seront dans le deuil, (Ⅱ)
- The merchants of these things, which were made rich by her, shall stand afar off for the fear of her torment, weeping and wailing, (Ⅲ)
- Mercatores horum, qui divites facti sunt, ab ea longe stabunt propter timorem tormentorum ejus, flentes, ac lugentes, (Ⅳ)
18. 16  
⸀λέγοντες· Οὐαὶ οὐαί, ἡ πόλις ἡ μεγάλη, ἡ περιβεβλημένη βύσσινον καὶ πορφυροῦν καὶ κόκκινον καὶ ⸀κεχρυσωμένη χρυσίῳ καὶ λίθῳ τιμίῳ καὶ ⸀μαργαρίτῃ,
- et diront: Malheur! malheur! La grande ville, qui était vêtue de fin lin, de pourpre et d'écarlate, et parée d'or, de pierres précieuses et de perles! En une seule heure tant de richesses ont été détruites! (Ⅱ)
- And saying, Alas, alas that great city, that was clothed in fine linen, and purple, and scarlet, and decked with gold, and precious stones, and pearls! (Ⅲ)
- et dicentes : Væ, væ civitas illa magna, quæ amicta erat bysso, et purpura, et cocco, et deaurata erat auro, et lapide pretioso, et margaritis : (Ⅳ)
18. 17  
ὅτι μιᾷ ὥρᾳ ἠρημώθη ὁ τοσοῦτος πλοῦτος. Καὶ πᾶς κυβερνήτης καὶ πᾶς ὁ ἐπὶ τόπον πλέων, καὶ ναῦται καὶ ὅσοι τὴν θάλασσαν ἐργάζονται, ἀπὸ μακρόθεν ἔστησαν
- Et tous les pilotes, tous ceux qui naviguent vers ce lieu, les marins, et tous ceux qui exploitent la mer, se tenaient éloignés, (Ⅱ)
- For in one hour so great riches is come to nought. And every shipmaster, and all the company in ships, and sailors, and as many as trade by sea, stood afar off, (Ⅲ)
- quoniam una hora destitutæ sunt tantæ divitiæ, et omnis gubernator, et omnis qui in lacum navigat, et nautæ, et qui in mari operantur, longe steterunt, (Ⅳ)
18. 18  
καὶ ⸀ἔκραξαν βλέποντες τὸν καπνὸν τῆς πυρώσεως αὐτῆς λέγοντες· Τίς ὁμοία τῇ πόλει τῇ μεγάλῃ;
- et ils s'écriaient, en voyant la fumée de son embrasement: Quelle ville était semblable à la grande ville? (Ⅱ)
- And cried when they saw the smoke of her burning, saying, What city is like unto this great city! (Ⅲ)
- et clamaverunt videntes locum incendii ejus, dicentes : Quæ similis civitati huic magnæ ? (Ⅳ)
18. 19  
καὶ ἔβαλον χοῦν ἐπὶ τὰς κεφαλὰς αὐτῶν καὶ ⸀ἔκραξαν κλαίοντες καὶ ⸀πενθοῦντες λέγοντες· Οὐαὶ οὐαί, ἡ πόλις ἡ μεγάλη, ἐν ᾗ ἐπλούτησαν πάντες οἱ ἔχοντες τὰ πλοῖα ἐν τῇ θαλάσσῃ ἐκ τῆς τιμιότητος αὐτῆς, ὅτι μιᾷ ὥρᾳ ἠρημώθη.
- Ils jetaient de la poussière sur leurs têtes, ils pleuraient et ils étaient dans le deuil, ils criaient et disaient: Malheur! malheur! La grande ville, où se sont enrichis par son opulence tous ceux qui ont des navires sur la mer, en une seule heure elle a été détruite! (Ⅱ)
- And they cast dust on their heads, and cried, weeping and wailing, saying, Alas, alas that great city, wherein were made rich all that had ships in the sea by reason of her costliness! for in one hour is she made desolate. (Ⅲ)
- et miserunt pulverem super capita sua, et clamaverunt flentes, et lugentes, dicentes : Væ, væ civitas illa magna, in qua divites facti sunt omnes, qui habebant naves in mari de pretiis ejus : quoniam una hora desolata est. (Ⅳ)
18. 20  
Εὐφραίνου ἐπ’ αὐτῇ, οὐρανέ, καὶ οἱ ἅγιοι καὶ οἱ ἀπόστολοι καὶ οἱ προφῆται, ὅτι ἔκρινεν ὁ θεὸς τὸ κρίμα ὑμῶν ἐξ αὐτῆς.
- Ciel, réjouis-toi sur elle! Et vous, les saints, les apôtres, et les prophètes, réjouissez-vous aussi! Car Dieu vous a fait justice en la jugeant. (Ⅱ)
- Rejoice over her, thou heaven, and ye holy apostles and prophets; for God hath avenged you on her. (Ⅲ)
- Exsulta super eam cælum, et sancti apostoli, et prophetæ : quoniam judicavit Deus judicium vestrum de illa. (Ⅳ)
18. 21  
Καὶ ἦρεν εἷς ἄγγελος ἰσχυρὸς λίθον ὡς ⸀μύλινον μέγαν, καὶ ἔβαλεν εἰς τὴν θάλασσαν λέγων· Οὕτως ὁρμήματι βληθήσεται Βαβυλὼν ἡ μεγάλη πόλις, καὶ οὐ μὴ εὑρεθῇ ἔτι.
- Alors un ange puissant prit une pierre semblable à une grande meule, et il la jeta dans la mer, en disant: Ainsi sera précipitée avec violence Babylone, la grande ville, et elle ne sera plus trouvée. (Ⅱ)
- And a mighty angel took up a stone like a great millstone, and cast it into the sea, saying, Thus with violence shall that great city Babylon be thrown down, and shall be found no more at all. (Ⅲ)
- Et sustulit unus angelus fortis lapidem quasi molarem magnum, et misit in mare, dicens : Hoc impetu mittetur Babylon civitas illa magna, et ultra jam non invenietur. (Ⅳ)
18. 22  
καὶ φωνὴ κιθαρῳδῶν καὶ μουσικῶν καὶ αὐλητῶν καὶ σαλπιστῶν οὐ μὴ ἀκουσθῇ ἐν σοὶ ἔτι, καὶ πᾶς τεχνίτης πάσης τέχνης οὐ μὴ εὑρεθῇ ἐν σοὶ ἔτι, καὶ φωνὴ μύλου οὐ μὴ ἀκουσθῇ ἐν σοὶ ἔτι,
- Et l'on n'entendra plus chez toi les sons des joueurs de harpe, des musiciens, des joueurs de flûte et des joueurs de trompette, on ne trouvera plus chez toi aucun artisan d'un métier quelconque, on n'entendra plus chez toi le bruit de la meule, (Ⅱ)
- And the voice of harpers, and musicians, and of pipers, and trumpeters, shall be heard no more at all in thee; and no craftsman, of whatsoever craft he be, shall be found any more in thee; and the sound of a millstone shall be heard no more at all in thee; (Ⅲ)
- Et vox citharœdorum, et musicorum, et tibia canentium, et tuba non audietur in te amplius : et omnis artifex omnis artis non invenietur in te amplius : et vox molæ non audietur in te amplius : (Ⅳ)
18. 23  
καὶ φῶς λύχνου οὐ μὴ φάνῃ ἐν σοὶ ἔτι, καὶ φωνὴ νυμφίου καὶ νύμφης οὐ μὴ ἀκουσθῇ ἐν σοὶ ἔτι· ὅτι οἱ ἔμποροί σου ἦσαν οἱ μεγιστᾶνες τῆς γῆς, ὅτι ἐν τῇ φαρμακείᾳ σου ἐπλανήθησαν πάντα τὰ ἔθνη,
- la lumière de la lampe ne brillera plus chez toi, et la voix de l'époux et de l'épouse ne sera plus entendue chez toi, parce que tes marchands étaient les grands de la terre, parce que toutes les nations ont été séduites par tes enchantements, (Ⅱ)
- And the light of a candle shall shine no more at all in thee; and the voice of the bridegroom and of the bride shall be heard no more at all in thee: for thy merchants were the great men of the earth; for by thy sorceries were all nations deceived. (Ⅲ)
- et lux lucernæ non lucebit in te amplius : et vox sponsi et sponsæ non audietur adhuc in te : quia mercatores tui erant principes terræ, quia in veneficiis tuis erraverunt omnes gentes. (Ⅳ)
18. 24  
καὶ ἐν αὐτῇ ⸀αἷμα προφητῶν καὶ ἁγίων εὑρέθη καὶ πάντων τῶν ἐσφαγμένων ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς.
- et parce qu'on a trouvé chez elle le sang des prophètes et des saints et de tous ceux qui ont été égorgés sur la terre. (Ⅱ)
- And in her was found the blood of prophets, and of saints, and of all that were slain upon the earth. (Ⅲ)
- Et in ea sanguis prophetarum et sanctorum inventus est : et omnium qui interfecti sunt in terra. (Ⅳ)
