Alhamdu lillahi rabbi alAAalameena
- The Beneficent, the Merciful, (Ⅰ)
- In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful. (Ⅱ)
- Praise belongs to God, the Lord of all Being, (Ⅲ)
- بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ (Ⅳ)
- Praise be to Allah, the Cherisher and Sustainer of the worlds; (Ⅵ)

AlqariAAatu
- The calamity! (Ⅰ)
- The Calamity! (Ⅱ)
- The Clatterer! (Ⅲ)
- بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ الْقَارِعَةُ (Ⅳ)
- The (Day) of Noise and Clamour: (Ⅵ)
101. 2  
Ma alqariAAatu
- What is the calamity? (Ⅰ)
- What is the Calamity ? (Ⅱ)
- What is the Clatterer? (Ⅲ)
- مَا الْقَارِعَةُ (Ⅳ)
- What is the (Day) of Noise and Clamour? (Ⅵ)
101. 3  
Wama adraka ma alqariAAatu
- And what will convey to you what the calamity is? (Ⅰ)
- Ah, what will convey unto thee what the Calamity is! (Ⅱ)
- And what shall teach thee what is the Clatterer? (Ⅲ)
- وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا الْقَارِعَةُ (Ⅳ)
- And what will explain to thee what the (Day) of Noise and Clamour is? (Ⅵ)
101. 4  
Yawma yakoonu alnnasu kaalfarashi almabthoothi
- The day when men shall be like scattered moths; (Ⅰ)
- A day wherein mankind will be as thickly-scattered moths (Ⅱ)
- The day that men shall be like scattered moths, (Ⅲ)
- يَوْمَ يَكُونُ النَّاسُ كَالْفَرَاشِ الْمَبْثُوثِ (Ⅳ)
- (It is) a Day whereon men will be like moths scattered about, (Ⅵ)
101. 5  
Watakoonu aljibalu kaalAAihni almanfooshi
- And the mountains shall be like flocks of carded wool! (Ⅰ)
- And the mountains will become as carded wool. (Ⅱ)
- and the mountains shall be like plucked wool-tufts. (Ⅲ)
- وَتَكُونُ الْجِبَالُ كَالْعِهْنِ الْمَنفُوشِ (Ⅳ)
- And the mountains will be like carded wool. (Ⅵ)
101. 6  
Faamma man thaqulat mawazeenuhu
- And as for him whose balance is heavy, (Ⅰ)
- Then, as for him whose scales are heavy (with good works), (Ⅱ)
- Then he whose deeds weigh heavy in the Balance (Ⅲ)
- فَأَمَّا مَن ثَقُلَتْ مَوَازِينُهُ (Ⅳ)
- Then, he whose balance (of good deeds) will be (found) heavy, (Ⅵ)
101. 7  
Fahuwa fee AAeeshatin radiyatin
- He shall be in a well-pleasing life. (Ⅰ)
- He will live a pleasant life. (Ⅱ)
- shall inherit a pleasing life, (Ⅲ)
- فَهُوَ فِي عِيشَةٍ رَّاضِيَةٍ (Ⅳ)
- Will be in a life of good pleasure and satisfaction. (Ⅵ)
101. 8  
Waamma man khaffat mawazeenuhu
- But as for him whose balance is light, (Ⅰ)
- But as for him whose scales are light, (Ⅱ)
- but he whose deeds weigh light in the Balance (Ⅲ)
- وَأَمَّا مَنْ خَفَّتْ مَوَازِينُهُ (Ⅳ)
- But he whose balance (of good deeds) will be (found) light,- (Ⅵ)
101. 9  
Faommuhu hawiyatun
- His mother will be the Bereft and Hungry One. (Ⅰ)
- A bereft and Hungry One will be his mother, (Ⅱ)
- shall plunge in the womb of the Pit. (Ⅲ)
- فَأُمُّهُ هَاوِيَةٌ (Ⅳ)
- Will have his home in a (bottomless) Pit. (Ⅵ)
101. 10  
Wama adraka ma hiyah
- And who shall convey to you what she is? - (Ⅰ)
- Ah, what will convey unto thee what she is! - (Ⅱ)
- And what shall teach thee what is the Pit? (Ⅲ)
- وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا هِيَهْ (Ⅳ)
- And what will explain to thee what this is? (Ⅵ)
101. 11  
Narun hamiyatun
- A raging fire! (Ⅰ)
- Raging Fire. (Ⅱ)
- A blazing Fire! (Ⅲ)
- نَارٌ حَامِيَةٌ (Ⅳ)
- (It is) a Fire Blazing fiercely! (Ⅵ)
