101. 0  
Praise be to Allah, the Cherisher and Sustainer of the worlds;
- Alhamdu lillahi rabbi alAAalameena (Ⅰ)
- The Beneficent, the Merciful, (Ⅱ)
- In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful. (Ⅲ)
- Praise belongs to God, the Lord of all Being, (Ⅳ)
- بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ (Ⅴ)
101. 1  
The (Day) of Noise and Clamour:
- AlqariAAatu (Ⅰ)
- The calamity! (Ⅱ)
- The Calamity! (Ⅲ)
- The Clatterer! (Ⅳ)
- بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ الْقَارِعَةُ (Ⅴ)
101. 2  
What is the (Day) of Noise and Clamour?
- Ma alqariAAatu (Ⅰ)
- What is the calamity? (Ⅱ)
- What is the Calamity ? (Ⅲ)
- What is the Clatterer? (Ⅳ)
- مَا الْقَارِعَةُ (Ⅴ)
101. 3  
And what will explain to thee what the (Day) of Noise and Clamour is?
- Wama adraka ma alqariAAatu (Ⅰ)
- And what will convey to you what the calamity is? (Ⅱ)
- Ah, what will convey unto thee what the Calamity is! (Ⅲ)
- And what shall teach thee what is the Clatterer? (Ⅳ)
- وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا الْقَارِعَةُ (Ⅴ)
101. 4  
(It is) a Day whereon men will be like moths scattered about,
- Yawma yakoonu alnnasu kaalfarashi almabthoothi (Ⅰ)
- The day when men shall be like scattered moths; (Ⅱ)
- A day wherein mankind will be as thickly-scattered moths (Ⅲ)
- The day that men shall be like scattered moths, (Ⅳ)
- يَوْمَ يَكُونُ النَّاسُ كَالْفَرَاشِ الْمَبْثُوثِ (Ⅴ)
101. 5  
And the mountains will be like carded wool.
- Watakoonu aljibalu kaalAAihni almanfooshi (Ⅰ)
- And the mountains shall be like flocks of carded wool! (Ⅱ)
- And the mountains will become as carded wool. (Ⅲ)
- and the mountains shall be like plucked wool-tufts. (Ⅳ)
- وَتَكُونُ الْجِبَالُ كَالْعِهْنِ الْمَنفُوشِ (Ⅴ)
101. 6  
Then, he whose balance (of good deeds) will be (found) heavy,
- Faamma man thaqulat mawazeenuhu (Ⅰ)
- And as for him whose balance is heavy, (Ⅱ)
- Then, as for him whose scales are heavy (with good works), (Ⅲ)
- Then he whose deeds weigh heavy in the Balance (Ⅳ)
- فَأَمَّا مَن ثَقُلَتْ مَوَازِينُهُ (Ⅴ)
101. 7  
Will be in a life of good pleasure and satisfaction.
- Fahuwa fee AAeeshatin radiyatin (Ⅰ)
- He shall be in a well-pleasing life. (Ⅱ)
- He will live a pleasant life. (Ⅲ)
- shall inherit a pleasing life, (Ⅳ)
- فَهُوَ فِي عِيشَةٍ رَّاضِيَةٍ (Ⅴ)
101. 8  
But he whose balance (of good deeds) will be (found) light,-
- Waamma man khaffat mawazeenuhu (Ⅰ)
- But as for him whose balance is light, (Ⅱ)
- But as for him whose scales are light, (Ⅲ)
- but he whose deeds weigh light in the Balance (Ⅳ)
- وَأَمَّا مَنْ خَفَّتْ مَوَازِينُهُ (Ⅴ)
101. 9  
Will have his home in a (bottomless) Pit.
- Faommuhu hawiyatun (Ⅰ)
- His mother will be the Bereft and Hungry One. (Ⅱ)
- A bereft and Hungry One will be his mother, (Ⅲ)
- shall plunge in the womb of the Pit. (Ⅳ)
- فَأُمُّهُ هَاوِيَةٌ (Ⅴ)
101. 10  
And what will explain to thee what this is?
- Wama adraka ma hiyah (Ⅰ)
- And who shall convey to you what she is? - (Ⅱ)
- Ah, what will convey unto thee what she is! - (Ⅲ)
- And what shall teach thee what is the Pit? (Ⅳ)
- وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا هِيَهْ (Ⅴ)
101. 11  
(It is) a Fire Blazing fiercely!
- Narun hamiyatun (Ⅰ)
- A raging fire! (Ⅱ)
- Raging Fire. (Ⅲ)
- A blazing Fire! (Ⅳ)
- نَارٌ حَامِيَةٌ (Ⅴ)
