These are verses of the Book that makes (things) clear.
- Tilka ayatu alkitabi almubeeni (Ⅰ) - These are the verses of the Book that clarifies (illuminates); (Ⅱ) - These are revelations of the Scripture that maketh plain. (Ⅲ) - Those are the signs of the Manifest Book. (Ⅳ) - تِلْكَ آيَاتُ الْكِتَابِ الْمُبِينِ (Ⅴ)

It may be thou frettest thy soul with grief, that they do not become Believers.
- LaAAallaka bakhiAAun nafsaka alla yakoonoo mumineena (Ⅰ) - It may be that you are tormenting your soul that they will not be believers. (Ⅱ) - It may be that thou tormentest thyself (O Muhammad) because they believe not. (Ⅲ) - Perchance thou consumest thyself that they are not believers. (Ⅳ) - لَعَلَّكَ بَاخِعٌ نَّفْسَكَ أَلَّا يَكُونُوا مُؤْمِنِينَ (Ⅴ)

If (such) were Our Will, We could send down to them from the sky a Sign, to which they would bend their necks in humility.
- In nasha nunazzil AAalayhim mina alssamai ayatan fathallat aAAnaquhum laha khadiAAeena (Ⅰ) - If We will, We can send down upon them from heaven a sign which would bend their necks in humility. (Ⅱ) - If We will, We can send down on them from the sky a portent so that their necks would remain bowed before it. (Ⅲ) - If We will, We shall send down on them out of heaven a sign, so their necks will stay humbled to it. (Ⅳ) - إِن نَّشَأْ نُنَزِّلْ عَلَيْهِم مِّنَ السَّمَاءِ آيَةً فَظَلَّتْ أَعْنَاقُهُمْ لَهَا خَاضِعِينَ (Ⅴ)

But there comes not to them a newly-revealed Message from (Allah) Most Gracious, but they turn away therefrom.
- Wama yateehim min thikrin mina alrrahmani muhdathin illa kanoo AAanhu muAArideena (Ⅰ) - But there comes not to them a fresh Reminder from the Beneficent that they did not turn away from. (Ⅱ) - Never cometh there unto them a fresh reminder from the Beneficent One, but they turn away from it. (Ⅲ) - But never fresh remembrance comes to them from the All-merciful, except they turn away from it. (Ⅳ) - وَمَا يَأْتِيهِم مِّن ذِكْرٍ مِّنَ الرَّحْمَٰنِ مُحْدَثٍ إِلَّا كَانُوا عَنْهُ مُعْرِضِينَ (Ⅴ)

They have indeed rejected (the Message): so they will know soon (enough) the truth of what they mocked at!
- Faqad kaththaboo fasayateehim anbao ma kanoo bihi yastahzioona (Ⅰ) - They have indeed rejected the message, but soon enough will come to them the truth of that at which they mocked. (Ⅱ) - Now they have denied (the Truth); but there will come unto them tidings of that whereat they used to scoff. (Ⅲ) - So they have cried lies; therefore assuredly tidings will come to them of that they mocked at. (Ⅳ) - فَقَدْ كَذَّبُوا فَسَيَأْتِيهِمْ أَنبَاءُ مَا كَانُوا بِهِ يَسْتَهْزِئُونَ (Ⅴ)

26.

Do they not look at the earth,- how many noble things of all kinds We have produced therein?
- Awalam yaraw ila alardi kam anbatna feeha min kulli zawjin kareemin (Ⅰ) - Have they not looked to the earth, how We caused to grow therein of every noble kind? (Ⅱ) - Have they not seen the earth, how much of every fruitful kind We make to grow therein ? (Ⅲ) - What, have they not regarded the earth, how many therein We have caused to grow of every generous kind? (Ⅳ) - أَوَلَمْ يَرَوْا إِلَى الْأَرْضِ كَمْ أَنبَتْنَا فِيهَا مِن كُلِّ زَوْجٍ كَرِيمٍ (Ⅴ)

Verily, in this is a Sign: but most of them do not believe.
- Inna fee thalika laayatan wama kana aktharuhum mumineena (Ⅰ) - Verily, in that is indeed a sign; but most of them are not believers. (Ⅱ) - Lo! herein is indeed a portent; yet most of them are not believers. (Ⅲ) - Surely in that is a sign, yet most of them are not believers. (Ⅳ) - إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَآيَةً ۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ (Ⅴ)

And verily, thy Lord is He, the Exalted in Might, Most Merciful.
- Wainna rabbaka lahuwa alAAazeezu alrraheemu (Ⅰ) - Lo! Your Lord, He is indeed the Mighty, the Merciful. (Ⅱ) - And lo! thy Lord! He is indeed the Mighty, the Merciful. (Ⅲ) - Surely thy Lord, He is the All-mighty, the All-compassionate. (Ⅳ) - وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ الْعَزِيزُ الرَّحِيمُ (Ⅴ)

Behold, thy Lord called Moses: "Go to the people of iniquity,-
- Waith nada rabbuka moosa ani iti alqawma alththalimeena (Ⅰ) - And when your Lord called Moses, saying, "Go to the iniquitous people, (Ⅱ) - And when thy Lord called Moses, saying: Go unto the wrongdoing folk, (Ⅲ) - And when thy Lord called to Moses, ´Go to the people of the evildoers, (Ⅳ) - وَإِذْ نَادَىٰ رَبُّكَ مُوسَىٰ أَنِ ائْتِ الْقَوْمَ الظَّالِمِينَ (Ⅴ)

|

"The people of the Pharaoh: will they not fear Allah?"
- Qawma firAAawna ala yattaqoona (Ⅰ) - To the people of Pharaoh. Will they not fear (Allah or doing evil)?" (Ⅱ) - The folk of Pharaoh. Will they not ward off (evil) ? (Ⅲ) - the people of Pharaoh; will they not be godfearing?´ (Ⅳ) - قَوْمَ فِرْعَوْنَ ۚ أَلَا يَتَّقُونَ (Ⅴ)

He said: "O my Lord! I do fear that they will charge me with falsehood:
- Qala rabbi innee akhafu an yukaththibooni (Ⅰ) - Said he, "My Lord! Verily, I fear that they will call me liar; (Ⅱ) - He said: My Lord! Lo! I fear that they will deny me, (Ⅲ) - He said, ´My Lord, I fear they will cry me lies, (Ⅳ) - قَالَ رَبِّ إِنِّي أَخَافُ أَن يُكَذِّبُونِ (Ⅴ)

"My breast will be straitened. And my speech may not go (smoothly): so send unto Aaron.
- Wayadeequ sadree wala yantaliqu lisanee faarsil ila haroona (Ⅰ) - "And my breast will be straitened, and my tongue is not fluent; so send then unto Aaron (or send them Aaron), (Ⅱ) - And I shall be embarrassed, and my tongue will not speak plainly, therefor send for Aaron (to help me). (Ⅲ) - and my breast will be straitened, and my tongue will not be loosed; so send to Aaron. (Ⅳ) - وَيَضِيقُ صَدْرِي وَلَا يَنطَلِقُ لِسَانِي فَأَرْسِلْ إِلَىٰ هَارُونَ (Ⅴ)

"And (further), they have a charge of crime against me; and I fear they may slay me."
- Walahum AAalayya thanbun faakhafu an yaqtulooni (Ⅰ) - "For they have a crime against me. And I fear that they may kill me." (Ⅱ) - And they have a crime against me, so I fear that they will kill me. (Ⅲ) - They also have a sin against me, and I fear they will slay me.´ (Ⅳ) - وَلَهُمْ عَلَيَّ ذَنبٌ فَأَخَافُ أَن يَقْتُلُونِ (Ⅴ)

Allah said: "By no means! proceed then, both of you, with Our Signs; We are with you, and will listen (to your call).
- Qala kalla faithhaba biayatina inna maAAakum mustamiAAoona (Ⅰ) - Said He, "Not so; but go, both, with Our signs; verily, We are with you listening. (Ⅱ) - He said: Nay, verily. So go ye twain with Our tokens. Lo! We shall be with you, Hearing. (Ⅲ) - Said He, ´No indeed; but go, both of you, with Our signs, and We assuredly shall be with you, listening. (Ⅳ) - قَالَ كَلَّا ۖ فَاذْهَبَا بِآيَاتِنَا ۖ إِنَّا مَعَكُم مُّسْتَمِعُونَ (Ⅴ)

"So go forth, both of you, to Pharaoh, and say: ´We have been sent by the Lord and Cherisher of the worlds;
- Fatiya firAAawna faqoola inna rasoolu rabbi alAAalameena (Ⅰ) - "And go to Pharaoh and say, ´Verily, we bear a message from the Lord of the Worlds (Ⅱ) - And come together unto Pharaoh and say: Lo! we bear a message of the Lord of the Worlds, (Ⅲ) - So go you to Pharaoh, and say, "Verily, I am the Messenger of the Lord of all Being; (Ⅳ) - فَأْتِيَا فِرْعَوْنَ فَقُولَا إِنَّا رَسُولُ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ (Ⅴ)

"´Send thou with us the Children of Israel.´"
- An arsil maAAana banee israeela (Ⅰ) - "(saying) Send you with us the children of Israel.´" (Ⅱ) - (Saying): Let the Children of Israel go with us. (Ⅲ) - so send forth with us the Children of Israel." (Ⅳ) - أَنْ أَرْسِلْ مَعَنَا بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ (Ⅴ)

(Pharaoh) said: "Did we not cherish thee as a child among us, and didst thou not stay in our midst many years of thy life?
- Qala alam nurabbika feena waleedan walabithta feena min AAumurika sineena (Ⅰ) - And he said, "Did we not cherish you as a child amongst us? And did you not dwell amongst us for many years of your life? (Ⅱ) - (Pharaoh) said (unto Moses): Did we not rear thee among us as a child ? And thou didst dwell many years of thy life among us, (Ⅲ) - He said, ´Did we not raise thee amongst us as a child? Didst thou not tarry among us years of thy life? (Ⅳ) - قَالَ أَلَمْ نُرَبِّكَ فِينَا وَلِيدًا وَلَبِثْتَ فِينَا مِنْ عُمُرِكَ سِنِينَ (Ⅴ)

"And thou didst a deed of thine which (thou knowest) thou didst, and thou art an ungrateful (wretch)!"
- WafaAAalta faAAlataka allatee faAAalta waanta mina alkafireena (Ⅰ) - "And you did do a deed which you know you did do (he slew an Egyptian), and you are of the ungrateful!" (Ⅱ) - And thou didst that thy deed which thou didst, and thou wast one of the ingrates. (Ⅲ) - And thou didst the deed thou didst, being one of the ungrateful!´ (Ⅳ) - وَفَعَلْتَ فَعْلَتَكَ الَّتِي فَعَلْتَ وَأَنتَ مِنَ الْكَافِرِينَ (Ⅴ)

Moses said: "I did it then, when I was in error.
- Qala faAAaltuha ithan waana mina alddalleena (Ⅰ) - Moses said, "I did commit this, and I was of those who erred. (Ⅱ) - He said: I did it then, when I was of those who are astray. (Ⅲ) - Said he, ´Indeed I did it then, being one of those that stray; (Ⅳ) - قَالَ فَعَلْتُهَا إِذًا وَأَنَا مِنَ الضَّالِّينَ (Ⅴ)

"So I fled from you (all) when I feared you; but my Lord has (since) invested me with judgment (and wisdom) and appointed me as one of the messengers.
- Fafarartu minkum lamma khiftukum fawahaba lee rabbee hukman wajaAAalanee mina almursaleena (Ⅰ) - "And I fled from you when I feared you. But my Lord granted me better judgment, and made me one of His messengers; (Ⅱ) - Then I fled from you when I feared you, and my Lord vouchsafed me a command and appointed me (of the number) of those sent (by Him). (Ⅲ) - so I fled from you, fearing you. But my Lord gave me Judgment and made me one of the Envoys. (Ⅳ) - فَفَرَرْتُ مِنكُمْ لَمَّا خِفْتُكُمْ فَوَهَبَ لِي رَبِّي حُكْمًا وَجَعَلَنِي مِنَ الْمُرْسَلِينَ (Ⅴ)

26.

"And this is the favour with which thou dost reproach me,- that thou hast enslaved the Children of Israel!"
- Watilka niAAmatun tamunnuha AAalayya an AAabbadta banee israeela (Ⅰ) - "And this is the favour you have reproached me with, that you have enslaved the children of Israel!" (Ⅱ) - And this is the past favour wherewith thou reproachest me: that thou hast enslaved the Children of Israel. (Ⅲ) - That is a blessing thou reproachest me with, having enslaved the Children of Israel.´ (Ⅳ) - وَتِلْكَ نِعْمَةٌ تَمُنُّهَا عَلَيَّ أَنْ عَبَّدتَّ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ (Ⅴ)

Pharaoh said: "And what is the ´Lord and Cherisher of the worlds´?"
- Qala firAAawnu wama rabbu alAAalameena (Ⅰ) - Said Pharaoh, "Who is the Lord of the Worlds? " (Ⅱ) - Pharaoh said: And what is the Lord of the Worlds ? (Ⅲ) - Pharaoh said, ´And what is the Lord of all Being?´ (Ⅳ) - قَالَ فِرْعَوْنُ وَمَا رَبُّ الْعَالَمِينَ (Ⅴ)

(Moses) said: "The Lord and Cherisher of the heavens and the earth, and all between,- if ye want to be quite sure."
- Qala rabbu alssamawati waalardi wama baynahuma in kuntum mooqineena (Ⅰ) - Said he, "The Lord of the heavens and the earth and what is between the two, if you want certainty." (Ⅱ) - (Moses) said: Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, if ye had but sure belief. (Ⅲ) - He said, ´The Lord of the heavens and earth, and what between them is, if you have faith.´ (Ⅳ) - قَالَ رَبُّ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا ۖ إِن كُنتُم مُّوقِنِينَ (Ⅴ)

(Pharaoh) said to those around: "Did ye not listen (to what he says)?"
- Qala liman hawlahu ala tastamiAAoona (Ⅰ) - Said he (Pharaoh) to those about him, "Do you not hear?" (Ⅱ) - (Pharaoh) said unto those around him: Hear ye not ? (Ⅲ) - Said he to those about him, ´Do you not hear?´ (Ⅳ) - قَالَ لِمَنْ حَوْلَهُ أَلَا تَسْتَمِعُونَ (Ⅴ)

(Moses) said: "Your Lord and the Lord of your fathers from the beginning!"
- Qala rabbukum warabbu abaikumu alawwaleena (Ⅰ) - Moses said, "(He is) your Lord and the Lord of your fathers from the beginning." (Ⅱ) - He said: Your Lord and the Lord of your fathers. (Ⅲ) - He said, ´Your Lord and the Lord of your fathers, the ancients.´ (Ⅳ) - قَالَ رَبُّكُمْ وَرَبُّ آبَائِكُمُ الْأَوَّلِينَ (Ⅴ)

(Pharaoh) said: "Truly your messenger who has been sent to you is a veritable madman!"
- Qala inna rasoolakumu allathee orsila ilaykum lamajnoonun (Ⅰ) - Said he (Pharaoh), "Verily, the messenger who is sent to you is surely mad!" (Ⅱ) - (Pharaoh) said: Lo! your messenger who hath been sent unto you is indeed a madman! (Ⅲ) - Said he, ´Surely your Messenger who was sent to you is possessed!´ (Ⅳ) - قَالَ إِنَّ رَسُولَكُمُ الَّذِي أُرْسِلَ إِلَيْكُمْ لَمَجْنُونٌ (Ⅴ)

26.

(Moses) said: "Lord of the East and the West, and all between! if ye only had sense!"
- Qala rabbu almashriqi waalmaghribi wama baynahuma in kuntum taAAqiloona (Ⅰ) - Moses said, "(He is) The Lord of the East and of the West, and of all that is between the two, if you did but understand." (Ⅱ) - He said: Lord of the East and the West and all that is between them, if ye did but understand. (Ⅲ) - He said, ´The Lord of the East and West, and what between them is, if you have understanding,´ (Ⅳ) - قَالَ رَبُّ الْمَشْرِقِ وَالْمَغْرِبِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا ۖ إِن كُنتُمْ تَعْقِلُونَ (Ⅴ)

26.

(Pharaoh) said: "If thou dost put forward any god other than me, I will certainly put thee in prison!"
- Qala laini ittakhathta ilahan ghayree laajAAalannaka mina almasjooneena (Ⅰ) - Said he (Pharaoh), "If you do take a god besides me I will surely place you among the prisoners." (Ⅱ) - (Pharaoh) said: If thou choosest a god other than me, I assuredly shall place thee among the prisoners. (Ⅲ) - Said he, ´If thou takest a god other than me, I shall surely make thee one of the imprisoned.´ (Ⅳ) - قَالَ لَئِنِ اتَّخَذْتَ إِلَٰهًا غَيْرِي لَأَجْعَلَنَّكَ مِنَ الْمَسْجُونِينَ (Ⅴ)

|
26.

(Moses) said: "Even if I showed you something clear (and) convincing?"
- Qala awalaw jituka bishayin mubeenin (Ⅰ) - Moses said, "What, if I come to you with something obvious (to the senses)?" (Ⅱ) - He said: Even though I show thee something plain ? (Ⅲ) - He said, ´What, even though I brought thee something so manifest?´ (Ⅳ) - قَالَ أَوَلَوْ جِئْتُكَ بِشَيْءٍ مُّبِينٍ (Ⅴ)

(Pharaoh) said: "Show it then, if thou tellest the truth!"
- Qala fati bihi in kunta mina alssadiqeena (Ⅰ) - Said he, "Bring it, if you are of those who tell the truth." (Ⅱ) - (Pharaoh) said: Produce it then, if thou art of the truthful! (Ⅲ) - Said he, ´Bring it then, if thou art of the truthful.´ (Ⅳ) - قَالَ فَأْتِ بِهِ إِن كُنتَ مِنَ الصَّادِقِينَ (Ⅴ)

So (Moses) threw his rod, and behold, it was a serpent, plain (for all to see)!
- Faalqa AAasahu faitha hiya thuAAbanun mubeenun (Ⅰ) - And he threw down his rod, and, behold, it was an obvious serpent! (Ⅱ) - Then he flung down his staff and it became a serpent manifest, (Ⅲ) - So he cast his staff, and behold, it was a serpent manifest. (Ⅳ) - فَأَلْقَىٰ عَصَاهُ فَإِذَا هِيَ ثُعْبَانٌ مُّبِينٌ (Ⅴ)

And he drew out his hand, and behold, it was white to all beholders!
- WanazaAAa yadahu faitha hiya baydao lilnnathireena (Ⅰ) - And he plucked out his hand, and, behold, it was white to the spectators! (Ⅱ) - And he drew forth his hand and lo! it was white to the beholders. (Ⅲ) - And he drew forth his hand, and lo, it was white to the beholders. (Ⅳ) - وَنَزَعَ يَدَهُ فَإِذَا هِيَ بَيْضَاءُ لِلنَّاظِرِينَ (Ⅴ)

26.

(Pharaoh) said to the Chiefs around him: "This is indeed a sorcerer well-versed:
- Qala lilmalai hawlahu inna hatha lasahirun AAaleemun (Ⅰ) - He (Pharaoh) said to the chiefs around him, "Verily, this is a knowing (expert) magician (sorcerer, wizard). (Ⅱ) - (Pharaoh) said unto the chiefs about him: Lo! this is verily a knowing wizard, (Ⅲ) - Said he to the Council about him, ´Surely this man is a cunning sorcerer (Ⅳ) - قَالَ لِلْمَلَإِ حَوْلَهُ إِنَّ هَٰذَا لَسَاحِرٌ عَلِيمٌ (Ⅴ)

"His plan is to get you out of your land by his sorcery; then what is it ye counsel?"
- Yureedu an yukhrijakum min ardikum bisihrihi famatha tamuroona (Ⅰ) - "He desires to turn you out of your land. What is it then you counsel (advise, suggest)" (Ⅱ) - Who would drive you out of your land by his magic. Now what counsel ye ? (Ⅲ) - who desires to expel you from your land by his sorcery; what do you command?´ (Ⅳ) - يُرِيدُ أَن يُخْرِجَكُم مِّنْ أَرْضِكُم بِسِحْرِهِ فَمَاذَا تَأْمُرُونَ (Ⅴ)

They said: "Keep him and his brother in suspense (for a while), and dispatch to the Cities heralds to collect-
- Qaloo arjih waakhahu waibAAath fee almadaini hashireena (Ⅰ) - They said, "Put him off a while, him and his brother, and send into the cities (Ⅱ) - They said: Put him off, (him) and his brother, and send into the cities summoners (Ⅲ) - They said, ´Put him and his brother off a while, and send among the cities musterers, (Ⅳ) - قَالُوا أَرْجِهْ وَأَخَاهُ وَابْعَثْ فِي الْمَدَائِنِ حَاشِرِينَ (Ⅴ)

"And bring up to thee all (our) sorcerers well-versed."
- Yatooka bikulli sahharin AAaleemin (Ⅰ) - "To collect and bring to you every knowing (expert) magician." (Ⅱ) - Who shall bring unto thee every knowing wizard. (Ⅲ) - to bring thee every cunning sorcerer. (Ⅳ) - يَأْتُوكَ بِكُلِّ سَحَّارٍ عَلِيمٍ (Ⅴ)

So the sorcerers were got together for the appointment of a day well-known,
- FajumiAAa alssaharatu limeeqati yawmin maAAloomin (Ⅰ) - And the magicians assembled at the appointed time on a well-known day (a festival day), (Ⅱ) - So the wizards were gathered together at a set time on a day appointed. (Ⅲ) - So the sorcerers were assembled for the appointed time of a fixed day. (Ⅳ) - فَجُمِعَ السَّحَرَةُ لِمِيقَاتِ يَوْمٍ مَّعْلُومٍ (Ⅴ)

And the people were told: "Are ye (now) assembled?-
- Waqeela lilnnasi hal antum mujtamiAAoona (Ⅰ) - And it was said to the people, "Are you assembling?" (Ⅱ) - And it was said unto the people: Are ye (also) gathering ? (Ⅲ) - The people were asked, ´Will you assemble? (Ⅳ) - وَقِيلَ لِلنَّاسِ هَلْ أَنتُم مُّجْتَمِعُونَ (Ⅴ)

"That we may follow the sorcerers (in religion) if they win?"
- LaAAallana nattabiAAu alssaharata in kanoo humu alghalibeena (Ⅰ) - (They said), "Aye, so that we may follow the magicians if they win." (Ⅱ) - (They said): Aye, so that we may follow the wizards if they are the winners. (Ⅲ) - Haply we shall follow the sorcerers if it should be they are the victors.´ (Ⅳ) - لَعَلَّنَا نَتَّبِعُ السَّحَرَةَ إِن كَانُوا هُمُ الْغَالِبِينَ (Ⅴ)

So when the sorcerers arrived, they said to Pharaoh: "Of course - shall we have a (suitable) reward if we win?
- Falamma jaa alssaharatu qaloo lifirAAawna ainna lana laajran in kunna nahnu alghalibeena (Ⅰ) - And when the sorcerers came they said unto Pharaoh, "Will we have a sure reward if we win?" (Ⅱ) - And when the wizards came they said unto Pharaoh: Will there surely be a reward for us if we are the winners ? (Ⅲ) - Then, when the sorcerers came, they said to Pharaoh, ´Shall we indeed have a wage, if we should be the victors?´ (Ⅳ) - فَلَمَّا جَاءَ السَّحَرَةُ قَالُوا لِفِرْعَوْنَ أَئِنَّ لَنَا لَأَجْرًا إِن كُنَّا نَحْنُ الْغَالِبِينَ (Ⅴ)

He said: "Yea, (and more),- for ye shall in that case be (raised to posts) nearest (to my person)."
- Qala naAAam wainnakum ithan lamina almuqarrabeena (Ⅰ) - He said, "Yes; and, verily, you shall then be of those who are brought nigh to me (or to my throne in affection and rank)." (Ⅱ) - He said: Aye, and ye will then surely be of those brought near (to me). (Ⅲ) - He said, ´Yes indeed; and you shall then be among the near-stationed.´ (Ⅳ) - قَالَ نَعَمْ وَإِنَّكُمْ إِذًا لَّمِنَ الْمُقَرَّبِينَ (Ⅴ)

Moses said to them: "Throw ye - that which ye are about to throw!"
- Qala lahum moosa alqoo ma antum mulqoona (Ⅰ) - And Moses said to them, "Throw down what you have to throw." (Ⅱ) - Moses said unto them: Throw what ye are going to throw! (Ⅲ) - Moses said to them, ´Cast you down what you will cast.´ (Ⅳ) - قَالَ لَهُم مُّوسَىٰ أَلْقُوا مَا أَنتُم مُّلْقُونَ (Ⅴ)

So they threw their ropes and their rods, and said: "By the might of Pharaoh, it is we who will certainly win!"
- Faalqaw hibalahum waAAisiyyahum waqaloo biAAizzati firAAawna inna lanahnu alghaliboona (Ⅰ) - So they threw down their ropes and their rods and said, "By Pharaoh´s might, verily, it is we who shall be the winners." (Ⅱ) - Then they threw down their cords and their staves and said: By Pharaoh's might, lo! we verily are the winners. (Ⅲ) - So they cast their ropes and their staffs, and said, ´By the might of Pharaoh we shall be the victors.´ (Ⅳ) - فَأَلْقَوْا حِبَالَهُمْ وَعِصِيَّهُمْ وَقَالُوا بِعِزَّةِ فِرْعَوْنَ إِنَّا لَنَحْنُ الْغَالِبُونَ (Ⅴ)

Then Moses threw his rod, when, behold, it straightway swallows up all the falsehoods which they fake!
- Faalqa moosa AAasahu faitha hiya talqafu ma yafikoona (Ⅰ) - And Moses threw down his rod, and, lo, it swallowed up what they had falsely devised! (Ⅱ) - Then Moses threw his staff and lo! it swallowed that which they did falsely show. (Ⅲ) - Then Moses cast his staff and lo, it forthwith swallowed up their lying invention; (Ⅳ) - فَأَلْقَىٰ مُوسَىٰ عَصَاهُ فَإِذَا هِيَ تَلْقَفُ مَا يَأْفِكُونَ (Ⅴ)

Then did the sorcerers fall down, prostrate in adoration,
- Faolqiya alssaharatu sajideena (Ⅰ) - And the magicians threw themselves down, in obeisance. (Ⅱ) - And the wizards were flung prostrate, (Ⅲ) - so the sorcerers were cast down, bowing themselves. (Ⅳ) - فَأُلْقِيَ السَّحَرَةُ سَاجِدِينَ (Ⅴ)

Saying: "We believe in the Lord of the Worlds,
- Qaloo amanna birabbi alAAalameena (Ⅰ) - Saying, "We believe in the Lord of the Worlds, (Ⅱ) - Crying: We believe in the Lord of the Worlds, (Ⅲ) - They said, ´We believe in the Lord of all Being, (Ⅳ) - قَالُوا آمَنَّا بِرَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ (Ⅴ)

"The Lord of Moses and Aaron."
- Rabbi moosa waharoona (Ⅰ) - "The Lord of Moses and Aaron." (Ⅱ) - The Lord of Moses and Aaron. (Ⅲ) - the Lord of Moses and Aaron.´ (Ⅳ) - رَبِّ مُوسَىٰ وَهَارُونَ (Ⅴ)

Said (Pharaoh): "Believe ye in Him before I give you permission? surely he is your leader, who has taught you sorcery! but soon shall ye know! Be sure I will cut off your hands and your feet on opposite sides, and I will cause you all to die on the cross!"
- Qala amantum lahu qabla an athana lakum innahu lakabeerukumu allathee AAallamakumu alssihra falasawfa taAAlamoona laoqattiAAanna aydiyakum waarjulakum min khilafin walaosallibannakum ajmaAAeena (Ⅰ) - Said Pharaoh, "Do you believe in Him ere I give you permission? Surely, he is your leader (in a conspiracy) who has taught you sorcery. But soon you shall know. I will surely cut off your hands and your feet from opposite sides, and I will crucify you all together!" (Ⅱ) - (Pharaoh) said: Ye put your faith in him before I give you leave. Lo! he doubtless is your chief who taught you magic! But verily ye shall come to know. Verily I will cut off your hands and your feet alternately, and verily I will crucify you every one. (Ⅲ) - Said Pharaoh, ´You have believed him before I gave you leave. Why, he is the chief of you, the same that taught you sorcery; now you shall know! I shall assuredly cut off alternately your hands and feet, then I shall crucify you all together.´ (Ⅳ) - قَالَ آمَنتُمْ لَهُ قَبْلَ أَنْ آذَنَ لَكُمْ ۖ إِنَّهُ لَكَبِيرُكُمُ الَّذِي عَلَّمَكُمُ السِّحْرَ فَلَسَوْفَ تَعْلَمُونَ ۚ لَأُقَطِّعَنَّ أَيْدِيَكُمْ وَأَرْجُلَكُم مِّنْ خِلَافٍ وَلَأُصَلِّبَنَّكُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ (Ⅴ)
