- Alhamdu lillahi rabbi alAAalameena (Ⅰ) - In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful. (Ⅱ) - Praise belongs to God, the Lord of all Being, (Ⅲ) - بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ (Ⅳ) - Praise be to Allah, the Cherisher and Sustainer of the worlds; (Ⅵ)

- Taseenmeem (Ⅰ) - Ta. Sin. Mim. (Ⅱ) - Ta Sin Mim (Ⅲ) - بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ طسم (Ⅳ) - Ta. Sin. Mim. (Ⅵ)

These are the verses of the Book that clarifies (illuminates);
- Tilka ayatu alkitabi almubeeni (Ⅰ) - These are revelations of the Scripture that maketh plain. (Ⅱ) - Those are the signs of the Manifest Book. (Ⅲ) - تِلْكَ آيَاتُ الْكِتَابِ الْمُبِينِ (Ⅳ) - These are verses of the Book that makes (things) clear. (Ⅵ)

It may be that you are tormenting your soul that they will not be believers.
- LaAAallaka bakhiAAun nafsaka alla yakoonoo mumineena (Ⅰ) - It may be that thou tormentest thyself (O Muhammad) because they believe not. (Ⅱ) - Perchance thou consumest thyself that they are not believers. (Ⅲ) - لَعَلَّكَ بَاخِعٌ نَّفْسَكَ أَلَّا يَكُونُوا مُؤْمِنِينَ (Ⅳ) - It may be thou frettest thy soul with grief, that they do not become Believers. (Ⅵ)

If We will, We can send down upon them from heaven a sign which would bend their necks in humility.
- In nasha nunazzil AAalayhim mina alssamai ayatan fathallat aAAnaquhum laha khadiAAeena (Ⅰ) - If We will, We can send down on them from the sky a portent so that their necks would remain bowed before it. (Ⅱ) - If We will, We shall send down on them out of heaven a sign, so their necks will stay humbled to it. (Ⅲ) - إِن نَّشَأْ نُنَزِّلْ عَلَيْهِم مِّنَ السَّمَاءِ آيَةً فَظَلَّتْ أَعْنَاقُهُمْ لَهَا خَاضِعِينَ (Ⅳ) - If (such) were Our Will, We could send down to them from the sky a Sign, to which they would bend their necks in humility. (Ⅵ)

But there comes not to them a fresh Reminder from the Beneficent that they did not turn away from.
- Wama yateehim min thikrin mina alrrahmani muhdathin illa kanoo AAanhu muAArideena (Ⅰ) - Never cometh there unto them a fresh reminder from the Beneficent One, but they turn away from it. (Ⅱ) - But never fresh remembrance comes to them from the All-merciful, except they turn away from it. (Ⅲ) - وَمَا يَأْتِيهِم مِّن ذِكْرٍ مِّنَ الرَّحْمَٰنِ مُحْدَثٍ إِلَّا كَانُوا عَنْهُ مُعْرِضِينَ (Ⅳ) - But there comes not to them a newly-revealed Message from (Allah) Most Gracious, but they turn away therefrom. (Ⅵ)

They have indeed rejected the message, but soon enough will come to them the truth of that at which they mocked.
- Faqad kaththaboo fasayateehim anbao ma kanoo bihi yastahzioona (Ⅰ) - Now they have denied (the Truth); but there will come unto them tidings of that whereat they used to scoff. (Ⅱ) - So they have cried lies; therefore assuredly tidings will come to them of that they mocked at. (Ⅲ) - فَقَدْ كَذَّبُوا فَسَيَأْتِيهِمْ أَنبَاءُ مَا كَانُوا بِهِ يَسْتَهْزِئُونَ (Ⅳ) - They have indeed rejected (the Message): so they will know soon (enough) the truth of what they mocked at! (Ⅵ)

Have they not looked to the earth, how We caused to grow therein of every noble kind?
- Awalam yaraw ila alardi kam anbatna feeha min kulli zawjin kareemin (Ⅰ) - Have they not seen the earth, how much of every fruitful kind We make to grow therein ? (Ⅱ) - What, have they not regarded the earth, how many therein We have caused to grow of every generous kind? (Ⅲ) - أَوَلَمْ يَرَوْا إِلَى الْأَرْضِ كَمْ أَنبَتْنَا فِيهَا مِن كُلِّ زَوْجٍ كَرِيمٍ (Ⅳ) - Do they not look at the earth,- how many noble things of all kinds We have produced therein? (Ⅵ)

Verily, in that is indeed a sign; but most of them are not believers.
- Inna fee thalika laayatan wama kana aktharuhum mumineena (Ⅰ) - Lo! herein is indeed a portent; yet most of them are not believers. (Ⅱ) - Surely in that is a sign, yet most of them are not believers. (Ⅲ) - إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَآيَةً ۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ (Ⅳ) - Verily, in this is a Sign: but most of them do not believe. (Ⅵ)

Lo! Your Lord, He is indeed the Mighty, the Merciful.
- Wainna rabbaka lahuwa alAAazeezu alrraheemu (Ⅰ) - And lo! thy Lord! He is indeed the Mighty, the Merciful. (Ⅱ) - Surely thy Lord, He is the All-mighty, the All-compassionate. (Ⅲ) - وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ الْعَزِيزُ الرَّحِيمُ (Ⅳ) - And verily, thy Lord is He, the Exalted in Might, Most Merciful. (Ⅵ)

And when your Lord called Moses, saying, "Go to the iniquitous people,
- Waith nada rabbuka moosa ani iti alqawma alththalimeena (Ⅰ) - And when thy Lord called Moses, saying: Go unto the wrongdoing folk, (Ⅱ) - And when thy Lord called to Moses, ´Go to the people of the evildoers, (Ⅲ) - وَإِذْ نَادَىٰ رَبُّكَ مُوسَىٰ أَنِ ائْتِ الْقَوْمَ الظَّالِمِينَ (Ⅳ) - Behold, thy Lord called Moses: "Go to the people of iniquity,- (Ⅵ)

|
26.

To the people of Pharaoh. Will they not fear (Allah or doing evil)?"
- Qawma firAAawna ala yattaqoona (Ⅰ) - The folk of Pharaoh. Will they not ward off (evil) ? (Ⅱ) - the people of Pharaoh; will they not be godfearing?´ (Ⅲ) - قَوْمَ فِرْعَوْنَ ۚ أَلَا يَتَّقُونَ (Ⅳ) - "The people of the Pharaoh: will they not fear Allah?" (Ⅵ)

Said he, "My Lord! Verily, I fear that they will call me liar;
- Qala rabbi innee akhafu an yukaththibooni (Ⅰ) - He said: My Lord! Lo! I fear that they will deny me, (Ⅱ) - He said, ´My Lord, I fear they will cry me lies, (Ⅲ) - قَالَ رَبِّ إِنِّي أَخَافُ أَن يُكَذِّبُونِ (Ⅳ) - He said: "O my Lord! I do fear that they will charge me with falsehood: (Ⅵ)

"And my breast will be straitened, and my tongue is not fluent; so send then unto Aaron (or send them Aaron),
- Wayadeequ sadree wala yantaliqu lisanee faarsil ila haroona (Ⅰ) - And I shall be embarrassed, and my tongue will not speak plainly, therefor send for Aaron (to help me). (Ⅱ) - and my breast will be straitened, and my tongue will not be loosed; so send to Aaron. (Ⅲ) - وَيَضِيقُ صَدْرِي وَلَا يَنطَلِقُ لِسَانِي فَأَرْسِلْ إِلَىٰ هَارُونَ (Ⅳ) - "My breast will be straitened. And my speech may not go (smoothly): so send unto Aaron. (Ⅵ)

"For they have a crime against me. And I fear that they may kill me."
- Walahum AAalayya thanbun faakhafu an yaqtulooni (Ⅰ) - And they have a crime against me, so I fear that they will kill me. (Ⅱ) - They also have a sin against me, and I fear they will slay me.´ (Ⅲ) - وَلَهُمْ عَلَيَّ ذَنبٌ فَأَخَافُ أَن يَقْتُلُونِ (Ⅳ) - "And (further), they have a charge of crime against me; and I fear they may slay me." (Ⅵ)

Said He, "Not so; but go, both, with Our signs; verily, We are with you listening.
- Qala kalla faithhaba biayatina inna maAAakum mustamiAAoona (Ⅰ) - He said: Nay, verily. So go ye twain with Our tokens. Lo! We shall be with you, Hearing. (Ⅱ) - Said He, ´No indeed; but go, both of you, with Our signs, and We assuredly shall be with you, listening. (Ⅲ) - قَالَ كَلَّا ۖ فَاذْهَبَا بِآيَاتِنَا ۖ إِنَّا مَعَكُم مُّسْتَمِعُونَ (Ⅳ) - Allah said: "By no means! proceed then, both of you, with Our Signs; We are with you, and will listen (to your call). (Ⅵ)

"And go to Pharaoh and say, ´Verily, we bear a message from the Lord of the Worlds
- Fatiya firAAawna faqoola inna rasoolu rabbi alAAalameena (Ⅰ) - And come together unto Pharaoh and say: Lo! we bear a message of the Lord of the Worlds, (Ⅱ) - So go you to Pharaoh, and say, "Verily, I am the Messenger of the Lord of all Being; (Ⅲ) - فَأْتِيَا فِرْعَوْنَ فَقُولَا إِنَّا رَسُولُ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ (Ⅳ) - "So go forth, both of you, to Pharaoh, and say: ´We have been sent by the Lord and Cherisher of the worlds; (Ⅵ)

"(saying) Send you with us the children of Israel.´"
- An arsil maAAana banee israeela (Ⅰ) - (Saying): Let the Children of Israel go with us. (Ⅱ) - so send forth with us the Children of Israel." (Ⅲ) - أَنْ أَرْسِلْ مَعَنَا بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ (Ⅳ) - "´Send thou with us the Children of Israel.´" (Ⅵ)

And he said, "Did we not cherish you as a child amongst us? And did you not dwell amongst us for many years of your life?
- Qala alam nurabbika feena waleedan walabithta feena min AAumurika sineena (Ⅰ) - (Pharaoh) said (unto Moses): Did we not rear thee among us as a child ? And thou didst dwell many years of thy life among us, (Ⅱ) - He said, ´Did we not raise thee amongst us as a child? Didst thou not tarry among us years of thy life? (Ⅲ) - قَالَ أَلَمْ نُرَبِّكَ فِينَا وَلِيدًا وَلَبِثْتَ فِينَا مِنْ عُمُرِكَ سِنِينَ (Ⅳ) - (Pharaoh) said: "Did we not cherish thee as a child among us, and didst thou not stay in our midst many years of thy life? (Ⅵ)

"And you did do a deed which you know you did do (he slew an Egyptian), and you are of the ungrateful!"
- WafaAAalta faAAlataka allatee faAAalta waanta mina alkafireena (Ⅰ) - And thou didst that thy deed which thou didst, and thou wast one of the ingrates. (Ⅱ) - And thou didst the deed thou didst, being one of the ungrateful!´ (Ⅲ) - وَفَعَلْتَ فَعْلَتَكَ الَّتِي فَعَلْتَ وَأَنتَ مِنَ الْكَافِرِينَ (Ⅳ) - "And thou didst a deed of thine which (thou knowest) thou didst, and thou art an ungrateful (wretch)!" (Ⅵ)

Moses said, "I did commit this, and I was of those who erred.
- Qala faAAaltuha ithan waana mina alddalleena (Ⅰ) - He said: I did it then, when I was of those who are astray. (Ⅱ) - Said he, ´Indeed I did it then, being one of those that stray; (Ⅲ) - قَالَ فَعَلْتُهَا إِذًا وَأَنَا مِنَ الضَّالِّينَ (Ⅳ) - Moses said: "I did it then, when I was in error. (Ⅵ)

"And I fled from you when I feared you. But my Lord granted me better judgment, and made me one of His messengers;
- Fafarartu minkum lamma khiftukum fawahaba lee rabbee hukman wajaAAalanee mina almursaleena (Ⅰ) - Then I fled from you when I feared you, and my Lord vouchsafed me a command and appointed me (of the number) of those sent (by Him). (Ⅱ) - so I fled from you, fearing you. But my Lord gave me Judgment and made me one of the Envoys. (Ⅲ) - فَفَرَرْتُ مِنكُمْ لَمَّا خِفْتُكُمْ فَوَهَبَ لِي رَبِّي حُكْمًا وَجَعَلَنِي مِنَ الْمُرْسَلِينَ (Ⅳ) - "So I fled from you (all) when I feared you; but my Lord has (since) invested me with judgment (and wisdom) and appointed me as one of the messengers. (Ⅵ)

"And this is the favour you have reproached me with, that you have enslaved the children of Israel!"
- Watilka niAAmatun tamunnuha AAalayya an AAabbadta banee israeela (Ⅰ) - And this is the past favour wherewith thou reproachest me: that thou hast enslaved the Children of Israel. (Ⅱ) - That is a blessing thou reproachest me with, having enslaved the Children of Israel.´ (Ⅲ) - وَتِلْكَ نِعْمَةٌ تَمُنُّهَا عَلَيَّ أَنْ عَبَّدتَّ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ (Ⅳ) - "And this is the favour with which thou dost reproach me,- that thou hast enslaved the Children of Israel!" (Ⅵ)

Said Pharaoh, "Who is the Lord of the Worlds? "
- Qala firAAawnu wama rabbu alAAalameena (Ⅰ) - Pharaoh said: And what is the Lord of the Worlds ? (Ⅱ) - Pharaoh said, ´And what is the Lord of all Being?´ (Ⅲ) - قَالَ فِرْعَوْنُ وَمَا رَبُّ الْعَالَمِينَ (Ⅳ) - Pharaoh said: "And what is the ´Lord and Cherisher of the worlds´?" (Ⅵ)

Said he, "The Lord of the heavens and the earth and what is between the two, if you want certainty."
- Qala rabbu alssamawati waalardi wama baynahuma in kuntum mooqineena (Ⅰ) - (Moses) said: Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, if ye had but sure belief. (Ⅱ) - He said, ´The Lord of the heavens and earth, and what between them is, if you have faith.´ (Ⅲ) - قَالَ رَبُّ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا ۖ إِن كُنتُم مُّوقِنِينَ (Ⅳ) - (Moses) said: "The Lord and Cherisher of the heavens and the earth, and all between,- if ye want to be quite sure." (Ⅵ)

Said he (Pharaoh) to those about him, "Do you not hear?"
- Qala liman hawlahu ala tastamiAAoona (Ⅰ) - (Pharaoh) said unto those around him: Hear ye not ? (Ⅱ) - Said he to those about him, ´Do you not hear?´ (Ⅲ) - قَالَ لِمَنْ حَوْلَهُ أَلَا تَسْتَمِعُونَ (Ⅳ) - (Pharaoh) said to those around: "Did ye not listen (to what he says)?" (Ⅵ)

Moses said, "(He is) your Lord and the Lord of your fathers from the beginning."
- Qala rabbukum warabbu abaikumu alawwaleena (Ⅰ) - He said: Your Lord and the Lord of your fathers. (Ⅱ) - He said, ´Your Lord and the Lord of your fathers, the ancients.´ (Ⅲ) - قَالَ رَبُّكُمْ وَرَبُّ آبَائِكُمُ الْأَوَّلِينَ (Ⅳ) - (Moses) said: "Your Lord and the Lord of your fathers from the beginning!" (Ⅵ)

Said he (Pharaoh), "Verily, the messenger who is sent to you is surely mad!"
- Qala inna rasoolakumu allathee orsila ilaykum lamajnoonun (Ⅰ) - (Pharaoh) said: Lo! your messenger who hath been sent unto you is indeed a madman! (Ⅱ) - Said he, ´Surely your Messenger who was sent to you is possessed!´ (Ⅲ) - قَالَ إِنَّ رَسُولَكُمُ الَّذِي أُرْسِلَ إِلَيْكُمْ لَمَجْنُونٌ (Ⅳ) - (Pharaoh) said: "Truly your messenger who has been sent to you is a veritable madman!" (Ⅵ)

Moses said, "(He is) The Lord of the East and of the West, and of all that is between the two, if you did but understand."
- Qala rabbu almashriqi waalmaghribi wama baynahuma in kuntum taAAqiloona (Ⅰ) - He said: Lord of the East and the West and all that is between them, if ye did but understand. (Ⅱ) - He said, ´The Lord of the East and West, and what between them is, if you have understanding,´ (Ⅲ) - قَالَ رَبُّ الْمَشْرِقِ وَالْمَغْرِبِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا ۖ إِن كُنتُمْ تَعْقِلُونَ (Ⅳ) - (Moses) said: "Lord of the East and the West, and all between! if ye only had sense!" (Ⅵ)

Said he (Pharaoh), "If you do take a god besides me I will surely place you among the prisoners."
- Qala laini ittakhathta ilahan ghayree laajAAalannaka mina almasjooneena (Ⅰ) - (Pharaoh) said: If thou choosest a god other than me, I assuredly shall place thee among the prisoners. (Ⅱ) - Said he, ´If thou takest a god other than me, I shall surely make thee one of the imprisoned.´ (Ⅲ) - قَالَ لَئِنِ اتَّخَذْتَ إِلَٰهًا غَيْرِي لَأَجْعَلَنَّكَ مِنَ الْمَسْجُونِينَ (Ⅳ) - (Pharaoh) said: "If thou dost put forward any god other than me, I will certainly put thee in prison!" (Ⅵ)

Moses said, "What, if I come to you with something obvious (to the senses)?"
- Qala awalaw jituka bishayin mubeenin (Ⅰ) - He said: Even though I show thee something plain ? (Ⅱ) - He said, ´What, even though I brought thee something so manifest?´ (Ⅲ) - قَالَ أَوَلَوْ جِئْتُكَ بِشَيْءٍ مُّبِينٍ (Ⅳ) - (Moses) said: "Even if I showed you something clear (and) convincing?" (Ⅵ)

Said he, "Bring it, if you are of those who tell the truth."
- Qala fati bihi in kunta mina alssadiqeena (Ⅰ) - (Pharaoh) said: Produce it then, if thou art of the truthful! (Ⅱ) - Said he, ´Bring it then, if thou art of the truthful.´ (Ⅲ) - قَالَ فَأْتِ بِهِ إِن كُنتَ مِنَ الصَّادِقِينَ (Ⅳ) - (Pharaoh) said: "Show it then, if thou tellest the truth!" (Ⅵ)

And he threw down his rod, and, behold, it was an obvious serpent!
- Faalqa AAasahu faitha hiya thuAAbanun mubeenun (Ⅰ) - Then he flung down his staff and it became a serpent manifest, (Ⅱ) - So he cast his staff, and behold, it was a serpent manifest. (Ⅲ) - فَأَلْقَىٰ عَصَاهُ فَإِذَا هِيَ ثُعْبَانٌ مُّبِينٌ (Ⅳ) - So (Moses) threw his rod, and behold, it was a serpent, plain (for all to see)! (Ⅵ)

And he plucked out his hand, and, behold, it was white to the spectators!
- WanazaAAa yadahu faitha hiya baydao lilnnathireena (Ⅰ) - And he drew forth his hand and lo! it was white to the beholders. (Ⅱ) - And he drew forth his hand, and lo, it was white to the beholders. (Ⅲ) - وَنَزَعَ يَدَهُ فَإِذَا هِيَ بَيْضَاءُ لِلنَّاظِرِينَ (Ⅳ) - And he drew out his hand, and behold, it was white to all beholders! (Ⅵ)

He (Pharaoh) said to the chiefs around him, "Verily, this is a knowing (expert) magician (sorcerer, wizard).
- Qala lilmalai hawlahu inna hatha lasahirun AAaleemun (Ⅰ) - (Pharaoh) said unto the chiefs about him: Lo! this is verily a knowing wizard, (Ⅱ) - Said he to the Council about him, ´Surely this man is a cunning sorcerer (Ⅲ) - قَالَ لِلْمَلَإِ حَوْلَهُ إِنَّ هَٰذَا لَسَاحِرٌ عَلِيمٌ (Ⅳ) - (Pharaoh) said to the Chiefs around him: "This is indeed a sorcerer well-versed: (Ⅵ)

"He desires to turn you out of your land. What is it then you counsel (advise, suggest)"
- Yureedu an yukhrijakum min ardikum bisihrihi famatha tamuroona (Ⅰ) - Who would drive you out of your land by his magic. Now what counsel ye ? (Ⅱ) - who desires to expel you from your land by his sorcery; what do you command?´ (Ⅲ) - يُرِيدُ أَن يُخْرِجَكُم مِّنْ أَرْضِكُم بِسِحْرِهِ فَمَاذَا تَأْمُرُونَ (Ⅳ) - "His plan is to get you out of your land by his sorcery; then what is it ye counsel?" (Ⅵ)

They said, "Put him off a while, him and his brother, and send into the cities
- Qaloo arjih waakhahu waibAAath fee almadaini hashireena (Ⅰ) - They said: Put him off, (him) and his brother, and send into the cities summoners (Ⅱ) - They said, ´Put him and his brother off a while, and send among the cities musterers, (Ⅲ) - قَالُوا أَرْجِهْ وَأَخَاهُ وَابْعَثْ فِي الْمَدَائِنِ حَاشِرِينَ (Ⅳ) - They said: "Keep him and his brother in suspense (for a while), and dispatch to the Cities heralds to collect- (Ⅵ)

"To collect and bring to you every knowing (expert) magician."
- Yatooka bikulli sahharin AAaleemin (Ⅰ) - Who shall bring unto thee every knowing wizard. (Ⅱ) - to bring thee every cunning sorcerer. (Ⅲ) - يَأْتُوكَ بِكُلِّ سَحَّارٍ عَلِيمٍ (Ⅳ) - "And bring up to thee all (our) sorcerers well-versed." (Ⅵ)

And the magicians assembled at the appointed time on a well-known day (a festival day),
- FajumiAAa alssaharatu limeeqati yawmin maAAloomin (Ⅰ) - So the wizards were gathered together at a set time on a day appointed. (Ⅱ) - So the sorcerers were assembled for the appointed time of a fixed day. (Ⅲ) - فَجُمِعَ السَّحَرَةُ لِمِيقَاتِ يَوْمٍ مَّعْلُومٍ (Ⅳ) - So the sorcerers were got together for the appointment of a day well-known, (Ⅵ)

And it was said to the people, "Are you assembling?"
- Waqeela lilnnasi hal antum mujtamiAAoona (Ⅰ) - And it was said unto the people: Are ye (also) gathering ? (Ⅱ) - The people were asked, ´Will you assemble? (Ⅲ) - وَقِيلَ لِلنَّاسِ هَلْ أَنتُم مُّجْتَمِعُونَ (Ⅳ) - And the people were told: "Are ye (now) assembled?- (Ⅵ)

(They said), "Aye, so that we may follow the magicians if they win."
- LaAAallana nattabiAAu alssaharata in kanoo humu alghalibeena (Ⅰ) - (They said): Aye, so that we may follow the wizards if they are the winners. (Ⅱ) - Haply we shall follow the sorcerers if it should be they are the victors.´ (Ⅲ) - لَعَلَّنَا نَتَّبِعُ السَّحَرَةَ إِن كَانُوا هُمُ الْغَالِبِينَ (Ⅳ) - "That we may follow the sorcerers (in religion) if they win?" (Ⅵ)

And when the sorcerers came they said unto Pharaoh, "Will we have a sure reward if we win?"
- Falamma jaa alssaharatu qaloo lifirAAawna ainna lana laajran in kunna nahnu alghalibeena (Ⅰ) - And when the wizards came they said unto Pharaoh: Will there surely be a reward for us if we are the winners ? (Ⅱ) - Then, when the sorcerers came, they said to Pharaoh, ´Shall we indeed have a wage, if we should be the victors?´ (Ⅲ) - فَلَمَّا جَاءَ السَّحَرَةُ قَالُوا لِفِرْعَوْنَ أَئِنَّ لَنَا لَأَجْرًا إِن كُنَّا نَحْنُ الْغَالِبِينَ (Ⅳ) - So when the sorcerers arrived, they said to Pharaoh: "Of course - shall we have a (suitable) reward if we win? (Ⅵ)

He said, "Yes; and, verily, you shall then be of those who are brought nigh to me (or to my throne in affection and rank)."
- Qala naAAam wainnakum ithan lamina almuqarrabeena (Ⅰ) - He said: Aye, and ye will then surely be of those brought near (to me). (Ⅱ) - He said, ´Yes indeed; and you shall then be among the near-stationed.´ (Ⅲ) - قَالَ نَعَمْ وَإِنَّكُمْ إِذًا لَّمِنَ الْمُقَرَّبِينَ (Ⅳ) - He said: "Yea, (and more),- for ye shall in that case be (raised to posts) nearest (to my person)." (Ⅵ)

And Moses said to them, "Throw down what you have to throw."
- Qala lahum moosa alqoo ma antum mulqoona (Ⅰ) - Moses said unto them: Throw what ye are going to throw! (Ⅱ) - Moses said to them, ´Cast you down what you will cast.´ (Ⅲ) - قَالَ لَهُم مُّوسَىٰ أَلْقُوا مَا أَنتُم مُّلْقُونَ (Ⅳ) - Moses said to them: "Throw ye - that which ye are about to throw!" (Ⅵ)

So they threw down their ropes and their rods and said, "By Pharaoh´s might, verily, it is we who shall be the winners."
- Faalqaw hibalahum waAAisiyyahum waqaloo biAAizzati firAAawna inna lanahnu alghaliboona (Ⅰ) - Then they threw down their cords and their staves and said: By Pharaoh's might, lo! we verily are the winners. (Ⅱ) - So they cast their ropes and their staffs, and said, ´By the might of Pharaoh we shall be the victors.´ (Ⅲ) - فَأَلْقَوْا حِبَالَهُمْ وَعِصِيَّهُمْ وَقَالُوا بِعِزَّةِ فِرْعَوْنَ إِنَّا لَنَحْنُ الْغَالِبُونَ (Ⅳ) - So they threw their ropes and their rods, and said: "By the might of Pharaoh, it is we who will certainly win!" (Ⅵ)

And Moses threw down his rod, and, lo, it swallowed up what they had falsely devised!
- Faalqa moosa AAasahu faitha hiya talqafu ma yafikoona (Ⅰ) - Then Moses threw his staff and lo! it swallowed that which they did falsely show. (Ⅱ) - Then Moses cast his staff and lo, it forthwith swallowed up their lying invention; (Ⅲ) - فَأَلْقَىٰ مُوسَىٰ عَصَاهُ فَإِذَا هِيَ تَلْقَفُ مَا يَأْفِكُونَ (Ⅳ) - Then Moses threw his rod, when, behold, it straightway swallows up all the falsehoods which they fake! (Ⅵ)

And the magicians threw themselves down, in obeisance.
- Faolqiya alssaharatu sajideena (Ⅰ) - And the wizards were flung prostrate, (Ⅱ) - so the sorcerers were cast down, bowing themselves. (Ⅲ) - فَأُلْقِيَ السَّحَرَةُ سَاجِدِينَ (Ⅳ) - Then did the sorcerers fall down, prostrate in adoration, (Ⅵ)

Saying, "We believe in the Lord of the Worlds,
- Qaloo amanna birabbi alAAalameena (Ⅰ) - Crying: We believe in the Lord of the Worlds, (Ⅱ) - They said, ´We believe in the Lord of all Being, (Ⅲ) - قَالُوا آمَنَّا بِرَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ (Ⅳ) - Saying: "We believe in the Lord of the Worlds, (Ⅵ)

"The Lord of Moses and Aaron."
- Rabbi moosa waharoona (Ⅰ) - The Lord of Moses and Aaron. (Ⅱ) - the Lord of Moses and Aaron.´ (Ⅲ) - رَبِّ مُوسَىٰ وَهَارُونَ (Ⅳ) - "The Lord of Moses and Aaron." (Ⅵ)

Said Pharaoh, "Do you believe in Him ere I give you permission? Surely, he is your leader (in a conspiracy) who has taught you sorcery. But soon you shall know. I will surely cut off your hands and your feet from opposite sides, and I will crucify you all together!"
- Qala amantum lahu qabla an athana lakum innahu lakabeerukumu allathee AAallamakumu alssihra falasawfa taAAlamoona laoqattiAAanna aydiyakum waarjulakum min khilafin walaosallibannakum ajmaAAeena (Ⅰ) - (Pharaoh) said: Ye put your faith in him before I give you leave. Lo! he doubtless is your chief who taught you magic! But verily ye shall come to know. Verily I will cut off your hands and your feet alternately, and verily I will crucify you every one. (Ⅱ) - Said Pharaoh, ´You have believed him before I gave you leave. Why, he is the chief of you, the same that taught you sorcery; now you shall know! I shall assuredly cut off alternately your hands and feet, then I shall crucify you all together.´ (Ⅲ) - قَالَ آمَنتُمْ لَهُ قَبْلَ أَنْ آذَنَ لَكُمْ ۖ إِنَّهُ لَكَبِيرُكُمُ الَّذِي عَلَّمَكُمُ السِّحْرَ فَلَسَوْفَ تَعْلَمُونَ ۚ لَأُقَطِّعَنَّ أَيْدِيَكُمْ وَأَرْجُلَكُم مِّنْ خِلَافٍ وَلَأُصَلِّبَنَّكُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ (Ⅳ) - Said (Pharaoh): "Believe ye in Him before I give you permission? surely he is your leader, who has taught you sorcery! but soon shall ye know! Be sure I will cut off your hands and your feet on opposite sides, and I will cause you all to die on the cross!" (Ⅵ)
