87. 0  
Praise be to Allah, the Cherisher and Sustainer of the worlds;
- Alhamdu lillahi rabbi alAAalameena (Ⅰ)
- The Beneficent, the Merciful, (Ⅱ)
- In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful. (Ⅲ)
- Praise belongs to God, the Lord of all Being, (Ⅳ)
- بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ (Ⅴ)
87. 1  
Glorify the name of thy Guardian-Lord Most High,
- Sabbihi isma rabbika alaAAla (Ⅰ)
- Glorify the name of your Guardian Lord most High, (Ⅱ)
- Praise the name of thy Lord the Most High, (Ⅲ)
- Magnify the Name of thy Lord the Most High (Ⅳ)
- بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ سَبِّحِ اسْمَ رَبِّكَ الْأَعْلَى (Ⅴ)
87. 2  
Who hath created, and further, given order and proportion;
- Allathee khalaqa fasawwa (Ⅰ)
- Who created and makes order and proportion, (Ⅱ)
- Who createth, then disposeth; (Ⅲ)
- who created and shaped, (Ⅳ)
- الَّذِي خَلَقَ فَسَوَّىٰ (Ⅴ)
87. 3  
Who hath ordained laws. And granted guidance;
- Waallathee qaddara fahada (Ⅰ)
- Who ordains Laws and Guides, (Ⅱ)
- Who measureth, then guideth; (Ⅲ)
- who determined and guided, (Ⅳ)
- وَالَّذِي قَدَّرَ فَهَدَىٰ (Ⅴ)
87. 4  
And Who bringeth out the (green and luscious) pasture,
- Waallathee akhraja almarAAa (Ⅰ)
- Who brings forth the pasture, (Ⅱ)
- Who bringeth forth the pasturage, (Ⅲ)
- who brought forth the pasturage (Ⅳ)
- وَالَّذِي أَخْرَجَ الْمَرْعَىٰ (Ⅴ)
87. 5  
And then doth make it (but) swarthy stubble.
- FajaAAalahu ghuthaan ahwa (Ⅰ)
- Then turns it to dusky stubble! (Ⅱ)
- Then turneth it to russet stubble. (Ⅲ)
- then made it a blackening wrack. (Ⅳ)
- فَجَعَلَهُ غُثَاءً أَحْوَىٰ (Ⅴ)
87. 6  
By degrees shall We teach thee to declare (the Message), so thou shalt not forget,
- Sanuqrioka fala tansa (Ⅰ)
- We will teach you by degrees to declare (or recite), and you shall not forget, (Ⅱ)
- We shall make thee read (O Muhammad) so that thou shalt not forget (Ⅲ)
- We shall make thee recite, to forget not (Ⅳ)
- سَنُقْرِئُكَ فَلَا تَنسَىٰ (Ⅴ)
87. 7  
Except as Allah wills: For He knoweth what is manifest and what is hidden.
- Illa ma shaa Allahu innahu yaAAlamu aljahra wama yakhfa (Ⅰ)
- Save what Allah wills. Verily, Lo! He knows the open and the hidden; (Ⅱ)
- Save that which Allah willeth. Lo! He knoweth the disclosed and that which still is hidden; (Ⅲ)
- save what God wills; surely He knows what is spoken aloud and what is hidden. (Ⅳ)
- إِلَّا مَا شَاءَ اللَّهُ ۚ إِنَّهُ يَعْلَمُ الْجَهْرَ وَمَا يَخْفَىٰ (Ⅴ)
87. 8  
And We will make it easy for thee (to follow) the simple (Path).
- Wanuyassiruka lilyusra (Ⅰ)
- And We will ease your way into the simple (path); (Ⅱ)
- And We shall ease thy way unto the state of ease. (Ⅲ)
- We shall ease thee unto the Easing. (Ⅳ)
- وَنُيَسِّرُكَ لِلْيُسْرَىٰ (Ⅴ)
87. 9  
Therefore give admonition in case the admonition profits (the hearer).
- Fathakkir in nafaAAati alththikra (Ⅰ)
- Therefore, remind men, for, verily, the reminder is useful. (Ⅱ)
- Therefor remind (men), for of use is the reminder. (Ⅲ)
- Therefore remind, if the Reminder profits, (Ⅳ)
- فَذَكِّرْ إِن نَّفَعَتِ الذِّكْرَىٰ (Ⅴ)
87. 10  
The admonition will be received by those who fear (Allah):
- Sayaththakkaru man yakhsha (Ⅰ)
- But he who fears will be mindful; (Ⅱ)
- He will heed who feareth, (Ⅲ)
- and he who fears shall remember, (Ⅳ)
- سَيَذَّكَّرُ مَن يَخْشَىٰ (Ⅴ)
87. 11  
But it will be avoided by those most unfortunate ones,
- Wayatajannabuha alashqa (Ⅰ)
- And the wretch will avoid it; (Ⅱ)
- But the most hapless will flout it, (Ⅲ)
- but the most wretched shall flout it, (Ⅳ)
- وَيَتَجَنَّبُهَا الْأَشْقَى (Ⅴ)
87. 12  
Who will enter the Great Fire,
- Allathee yasla alnnara alkubra (Ⅰ)
- He will broil in the great Fire, (Ⅱ)
- He who will be flung to the great Fire (Ⅲ)
- even he who shall roast in the Great Fire, (Ⅳ)
- الَّذِي يَصْلَى النَّارَ الْكُبْرَىٰ (Ⅴ)
87. 13  
In which they will then neither die nor live.
- Thumma la yamootu feeha wala yahya (Ⅰ)
- Wherein he shall neither die nor live! (Ⅱ)
- Wherein he will neither die nor live. (Ⅲ)
- then he shall neither die therein, nor live. (Ⅳ)
- ثُمَّ لَا يَمُوتُ فِيهَا وَلَا يَحْيَىٰ (Ⅴ)
87. 14  
But those will prosper who purify themselves,
- Qad aflaha man tazakka (Ⅰ)
- He is successful who grows, (Ⅱ)
- He is successful who groweth, (Ⅲ)
- Prosperous is he who has cleansed himself, (Ⅳ)
- قَدْ أَفْلَحَ مَن تَزَكَّىٰ (Ⅴ)
87. 15  
And glorify the name of their Guardian-Lord, and (lift their hearts) in prayer.
- Wathakara isma rabbihi fasalla (Ⅰ)
- And remembers the name of his Lord and prays! (Ⅱ)
- And remembereth the name of his Lord, so prayeth, (Ⅲ)
- and mentions the Name of his Lord, and prays. (Ⅳ)
- وَذَكَرَ اسْمَ رَبِّهِ فَصَلَّىٰ (Ⅴ)
87. 16  
Day (behold), ye prefer the life of this world;
- Bal tuthiroona alhayata alddunya (Ⅰ)
- Nay! But you prefer the life of this world, (Ⅱ)
- But ye prefer the life of the world (Ⅲ)
- Nay, but you prefer the present life; (Ⅳ)
- بَلْ تُؤْثِرُونَ الْحَيَاةَ الدُّنْيَا (Ⅴ)
87. 17  
But the Hereafter is better and more enduring.
- Waalakhiratu khayrun waabqa (Ⅰ)
- Although the Hereafter is better and more lasting. (Ⅱ)
- Although the Hereafter is better and more lasting. (Ⅲ)
- and the world to come is better, and more enduring. (Ⅳ)
- وَالْآخِرَةُ خَيْرٌ وَأَبْقَىٰ (Ⅴ)
87. 18  
And this is in the Books of the earliest (Revelation),-
- Inna hatha lafee alssuhufi aloola (Ⅰ)
- Verily, this was in the former books, (Ⅱ)
- Lo! This is in the former scrolls. (Ⅲ)
- Surely this is in the ancient scrolls, (Ⅳ)
- إِنَّ هَٰذَا لَفِي الصُّحُفِ الْأُولَىٰ (Ⅴ)
87. 19  
The Books of Abraham and Moses.
- Suhufi ibraheema wamoosa (Ⅰ)
- The books of Abraham and Moses. (Ⅱ)
- The Books of Abraham and Moses. (Ⅲ)
- the scrolls of Abraham and Moses. (Ⅳ)
- صُحُفِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَمُوسَىٰ (Ⅴ)
