91. 0  
Praise be to Allah, the Cherisher and Sustainer of the worlds;
- Alhamdu lillahi rabbi alAAalameena (Ⅰ)
- The Beneficent, the Merciful, (Ⅱ)
- In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful. (Ⅲ)
- Praise belongs to God, the Lord of all Being, (Ⅳ)
- بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ (Ⅴ)
91. 1  
By the Sun and his (glorious) splendour;
- Waalshshamsi waduhaha (Ⅰ)
- By the sun and its noonday brightness! (Ⅱ)
- By the sun and his brightness, (Ⅲ)
- By the sun and his morning brightness (Ⅳ)
- بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ وَالشَّمْسِ وَضُحَاهَا (Ⅴ)
91. 2  
By the Moon as she follows him;
- Waalqamari itha talaha (Ⅰ)
- And the moon when it follows him! (Ⅱ)
- And the moon when she followeth him, (Ⅲ)
- and by the moon when she follows him, (Ⅳ)
- وَالْقَمَرِ إِذَا تَلَاهَا (Ⅴ)
91. 3  
By the Day as it shows up (the Sun´s) glory;
- Waalnnahari itha jallaha (Ⅰ)
- And the day when it displays him! (Ⅱ)
- And the day when it revealeth him, (Ⅲ)
- and by the day when it displays him (Ⅳ)
- وَالنَّهَارِ إِذَا جَلَّاهَا (Ⅴ)
91. 4  
By the Night as it conceals it;
- Waallayli itha yaghshaha (Ⅰ)
- And the night when it covers him! (Ⅱ)
- And the night when it enshroudeth him, (Ⅲ)
- and by the night when it enshrouds him! (Ⅳ)
- وَاللَّيْلِ إِذَا يَغْشَاهَا (Ⅴ)
91. 5  
By the Firmament and its (wonderful) structure;
- Waalssamai wama banaha (Ⅰ)
- And the wondrous structure of the heavens and Him who built it! (Ⅱ)
- And the heaven and Him Who built it, (Ⅲ)
- By the heaven and That which built it (Ⅳ)
- وَالسَّمَاءِ وَمَا بَنَاهَا (Ⅴ)
91. 6  
By the Earth and its (wide) expanse:
- Waalardi wama tahaha (Ⅰ)
- And the earth and Who spread it! (Ⅱ)
- And the earth and Him Who spread it, (Ⅲ)
- and by the earth and That which extended it! (Ⅳ)
- وَالْأَرْضِ وَمَا طَحَاهَا (Ⅴ)
91. 7  
By the Soul, and the proportion and order given to it;
- Wanafsin wama sawwaha (Ⅰ)
- And the soul and Who fashioned it, (Ⅱ)
- And a soul and Him Who perfected it (Ⅲ)
- By the soul, and That which shaped it (Ⅳ)
- وَنَفْسٍ وَمَا سَوَّاهَا (Ⅴ)
91. 8  
And its enlightenment as to its wrong and its right;-
- Faalhamaha fujooraha wataqwaha (Ⅰ)
- And enlightened it with what is wrong and right for it! (Ⅱ)
- And inspired it (with conscience of) what is wrong for it and (what is) right for it. (Ⅲ)
- and inspired it to lewdness and godfearing! (Ⅳ)
- فَأَلْهَمَهَا فُجُورَهَا وَتَقْوَاهَا (Ⅴ)
91. 9  
Truly he succeeds that purifies it,
- Qad aflaha man zakkaha (Ⅰ)
- He indeed is successful who causes it to grow (or purifies it)! (Ⅱ)
- He is indeed successful who causeth it to grow, (Ⅲ)
- Prosperous is he who purifies it, (Ⅳ)
- قَدْ أَفْلَحَ مَن زَكَّاهَا (Ⅴ)
91. 10  
And he fails that corrupts it!
- Waqad khaba man dassaha (Ⅰ)
- And he indeed is a failure who corrupts it! (Ⅱ)
- And he is indeed a failure who stunteth it. (Ⅲ)
- and failed has he who seduces it. (Ⅳ)
- وَقَدْ خَابَ مَن دَسَّاهَا (Ⅴ)
91. 11  
The Thamud (people) rejected (their prophet) through their inordinate wrong-doing,
- Kaththabat thamoodu bitaghwaha (Ⅰ)
- The Thamud people denied (the Messenger) in their rebellious pride (or outrage), (Ⅱ)
- (The tribe of) Thamud denied (the truth) in their rebellious pride, (Ⅲ)
- Thamood cried lies in their insolence (Ⅳ)
- كَذَّبَتْ ثَمُودُ بِطَغْوَاهَا (Ⅴ)
91. 12  
Behold, the most wicked man among them was deputed (for impiety).
- Ithi inbaAAatha ashqaha (Ⅰ)
- When the basest of them rose up (Ⅱ)
- When the basest of them broke forth (Ⅲ)
- when the most wretched of them uprose, (Ⅳ)
- إِذِ انبَعَثَ أَشْقَاهَا (Ⅴ)
91. 13  
But the Messenger of Allah said to them: "It is a She-camel of Allah! And (bar her not from) having her drink!"
- Faqala lahum rasoolu Allahi naqata Allahi wasuqyaha (Ⅰ)
- And the Messenger of Allah (Salih) said to them, "(This is) Allah´s she-camel! So give her to drink." (Ⅱ)
- And the messenger of Allah said: It is the she-camel of Allah, so let her drink! (Ⅲ)
- then the Messenger of God said to them, ´The She-camel of God; let her drink!´ (Ⅳ)
- فَقَالَ لَهُمْ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ نَاقَةَ اللَّهِ وَسُقْيَاهَا (Ⅴ)
91. 14  
Then they rejected him (as a false prophet), and they hamstrung her. So their Lord, on account of their crime, obliterated their traces and made them equal (in destruction, high and low)!
- Fakaththaboohu faAAaqarooha fadamdama AAalayhim rabbuhum bithanbihim fasawwaha (Ⅰ)
- But they called him a liar, and they ham-strung her; so their Lord destroyed them in their sins, and served them all alike; (Ⅱ)
- But they denied him, and they hamstrung her, so Allah doomed them for their sin and rased (their dwellings). (Ⅲ)
- But they cried him lies, and hamstrung her, so their Lord crushed them for their sin, and leveled them: (Ⅳ)
- فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَعَقَرُوهَا فَدَمْدَمَ عَلَيْهِمْ رَبُّهُم بِذَنبِهِمْ فَسَوَّاهَا (Ⅴ)
91. 15  
And for Him is no fear of its consequences.
- Wala yakhafu AAuqbaha (Ⅰ)
- And He fears not the result thereof! (Ⅱ)
- He dreadeth not the sequel (of events). (Ⅲ)
- and He fears not the issue thereof. (Ⅳ)
- وَلَا يَخَافُ عُقْبَاهَا (Ⅴ)
