56. 50  
"Shall most surely be gathered together for the appointed hour of a known day.
- LamajmooAAoona ila meeqati yawmin maAAloomin (Ⅰ)
- Will all be brought together to the tryst of an appointed day. (Ⅱ)
- shall be gathered to the appointed time of a known day. (Ⅲ)
- لَمَجْمُوعُونَ إِلَىٰ مِيقَاتِ يَوْمٍ مَّعْلُومٍ (Ⅳ)
- "All will certainly be gathered together for the meeting appointed for a Day well-known. (Ⅵ)
56. 51  
"Then shall you, O you who err and call it a lie!
- Thumma innakum ayyuha alddalloona almukaththiboona (Ⅰ)
- Then lo! ye, the erring, the deniers, (Ⅱ)
- Then you erring ones, you that cried lies, (Ⅲ)
- ثُمَّ إِنَّكُمْ أَيُّهَا الضَّالُّونَ الْمُكَذِّبُونَ (Ⅳ)
- "Then will ye truly,- O ye that go wrong, and treat (Truth) as Falsehood!- (Ⅵ)
56. 52  
"Most surely eat of a tree of Zaqqum,
- Laakiloona min shajarin min zaqqoomin (Ⅰ)
- Ye verily will eat of a tree called Zaqqum (Ⅱ)
- you shall eat of a tree called Zakkoum, (Ⅲ)
- لَآكِلُونَ مِن شَجَرٍ مِّن زَقُّومٍ (Ⅳ)
- "Ye will surely taste of the Tree of Zaqqum. (Ⅵ)
56. 53  
"And fill your bellies therewith;
- Famalioona minha albutoona (Ⅰ)
- And will fill your bellies therewith; (Ⅱ)
- and you shall fill therewith your bellies (Ⅲ)
- فَمَالِئُونَ مِنْهَا الْبُطُونَ (Ⅳ)
- "Then will ye fill your insides therewith, (Ⅵ)
56. 54  
"Then drink over it boiling water;
- Fashariboona AAalayhi mina alhameemi (Ⅰ)
- And thereon ye will drink of boiling water, (Ⅱ)
- and drink on top of that boiling water (Ⅲ)
- فَشَارِبُونَ عَلَيْهِ مِنَ الْحَمِيمِ (Ⅳ)
- "And drink Boiling Water on top of it: (Ⅵ)
56. 55  
"And drink as drinks the thirsty camel."
- Fashariboona shurba alheemi (Ⅰ)
- Drinking even as the camel drinketh. (Ⅱ)
- lapping it down like thirsty camels.´ (Ⅲ)
- فَشَارِبُونَ شُرْبَ الْهِيمِ (Ⅳ)
- "Indeed ye shall drink like diseased camels raging with thirst!" (Ⅵ)
56. 56  
This is their entertainment on the Day of Requital.
- Hatha nuzuluhum yawma alddeeni (Ⅰ)
- This will be their welcome on the Day of Judgment. (Ⅱ)
- This shall be their hospitality on the Day of Doom. (Ⅲ)
- هَٰذَا نُزُلُهُمْ يَوْمَ الدِّينِ (Ⅳ)
- Such will be their entertainment on the Day of Requital! (Ⅵ)
56. 57  
We have created you, why do you not then assent?
- Nahnu khalaqnakum falawla tusaddiqoona (Ⅰ)
- We created you. Will ye then admit the truth ? (Ⅱ)
- We created you; therefore why will you not believe? (Ⅲ)
- نَحْنُ خَلَقْنَاكُمْ فَلَوْلَا تُصَدِّقُونَ (Ⅳ)
- It is We Who have created you: why will ye not witness the Truth? (Ⅵ)
56. 58  
Have you considered the seed (or what you emit)?
- Afaraaytum ma tumnoona (Ⅰ)
- Have ye seen that which ye emit ? (Ⅱ)
- Have you considered the seed you spill? (Ⅲ)
- أَفَرَأَيْتُم مَّا تُمْنُونَ (Ⅳ)
- Do ye then see?- The (human Seed) that ye throw out,- (Ⅵ)
56. 59  
Is it you that create it or are We the creators?
- Aantum takhluqoonahu am nahnu alkhaliqoona (Ⅰ)
- Do ye create it or are We the Creator ? (Ⅱ)
- Do you yourselves create it, or are We the Creators? (Ⅲ)
- أَأَنتُمْ تَخْلُقُونَهُ أَمْ نَحْنُ الْخَالِقُونَ (Ⅳ)
- Is it ye who create it, or are We the Creators? (Ⅵ)
56. 60  
We have ordained death among you and We are not to be frustrated,
- Nahnu qaddarna baynakumu almawta wama nahnu bimasbooqeena (Ⅰ)
- We mete out death among you, and We are not to be outrun, (Ⅱ)
- We have decreed among you Death; We shall not be outstripped; (Ⅲ)
- نَحْنُ قَدَّرْنَا بَيْنَكُمُ الْمَوْتَ وَمَا نَحْنُ بِمَسْبُوقِينَ (Ⅳ)
- We have decreed Death to be your common lot, and We are not to be frustrated (Ⅵ)
56. 61  
That We may transfigure you and make you grow into what you know not.
- AAala an nubaddila amthalakum wanunshiakum fee ma la taAAlamoona (Ⅰ)
- That We may transfigure you and make you what ye know not. (Ⅱ)
- that We may exchange the likes of you, and make you to grow again in a fashion you know not. (Ⅲ)
- عَلَىٰ أَن نُّبَدِّلَ أَمْثَالَكُمْ وَنُنشِئَكُمْ فِي مَا لَا تَعْلَمُونَ (Ⅳ)
- from changing your Forms and creating you (again) in (forms) that ye know not. (Ⅵ)
56. 62  
And certainly you know the first growth, why do you not then reflect?
- Walaqad AAalimtumu alnnashata aloola falawla tathakkaroona (Ⅰ)
- And verily ye know the first creation. Why, then, do ye not reflect ? (Ⅱ)
- You have known the first growth; so why will you not remember? (Ⅲ)
- وَلَقَدْ عَلِمْتُمُ النَّشْأَةَ الْأُولَىٰ فَلَوْلَا تَذَكَّرُونَ (Ⅳ)
- And ye certainly know already the first form of creation: why then do ye not celebrate His praises? (Ⅵ)
56. 63  
Have you considered what you sow?
- Afaraaytum ma tahruthoona (Ⅰ)
- Have ye seen that which ye cultivate ? (Ⅱ)
- Have you considered the soil you till? (Ⅲ)
- أَفَرَأَيْتُم مَّا تَحْرُثُونَ (Ⅳ)
- See ye the seed that ye sow in the ground? (Ⅵ)
56. 64  
Is it you that cause it to grow, or are We the cause.
- Aantum tazraAAoonahu am nahnu alzzariAAoona (Ⅰ)
- Is it ye who foster it, or are We the Fosterer ? (Ⅱ)
- Do you yourselves sow it, or are We the Sowers? (Ⅲ)
- أَأَنتُمْ تَزْرَعُونَهُ أَمْ نَحْنُ الزَّارِعُونَ (Ⅳ)
- Is it ye that cause it to grow, or are We the Cause? (Ⅵ)
56. 65  
If We willed, We could crumble it to powder, then would you lament,
- Law nashao lajaAAalnahu hutaman fathaltum tafakkahoona (Ⅰ)
- If We willed, We verily could make it chaff, then would ye cease not to exclaim: (Ⅱ)
- Did We will, We would make it broken orts, and you would remain bitterly jesting -- (Ⅲ)
- لَوْ نَشَاءُ لَجَعَلْنَاهُ حُطَامًا فَظَلْتُمْ تَفَكَّهُونَ (Ⅳ)
- Were it Our Will, We could crumble it to dry powder, and ye would be left in wonderment, (Ⅵ)
56. 66  
"Surely we are burdened with debt;
- Inna lamughramoona (Ⅰ)
- Lo! we are laden with debt! (Ⅱ)
- ´We are debt-loaded; (Ⅲ)
- إِنَّا لَمُغْرَمُونَ (Ⅳ)
- (Saying), "We are indeed left with debts (for nothing): (Ⅵ)
56. 67  
"Nay! We are deprived."
- Bal nahnu mahroomoona (Ⅰ)
- Nay, but we are deprived! (Ⅱ)
- nay, we have been robbed!´ (Ⅲ)
- بَلْ نَحْنُ مَحْرُومُونَ (Ⅳ)
- "Indeed are we shut out (of the fruits of our labour)" (Ⅵ)
56. 68  
Have you considered the water which you drink?
- Afaraaytumu almaa allathee tashraboona (Ⅰ)
- Have ye observed the water which ye drink ? (Ⅱ)
- Have you considered the water you drink? (Ⅲ)
- أَفَرَأَيْتُمُ الْمَاءَ الَّذِي تَشْرَبُونَ (Ⅳ)
- See ye the water which ye drink? (Ⅵ)
56. 69  
Is it you that send it down from the clouds, or are We the senders?
- Aantum anzaltumoohu mina almuzni am nahnu almunziloona (Ⅰ)
- Is it ye who shed it from the raincloud, or are We the Shedder ? (Ⅱ)
- Did you send it down from the clouds, or did We send it? (Ⅲ)
- أَأَنتُمْ أَنزَلْتُمُوهُ مِنَ الْمُزْنِ أَمْ نَحْنُ الْمُنزِلُونَ (Ⅳ)
- Do ye bring it down (in rain) from the cloud or do We? (Ⅵ)
56. 70  
If We willed, We could have made it salty; why do you not then give thanks?
- Law nashao jaAAalnahu ojajan falawla tashkuroona (Ⅰ)
- If We willed We verily could make it bitter. Why then, give ye not thanks ? (Ⅱ)
- Did We will, We would make it bitter; so why are you not thankful? (Ⅲ)
- لَوْ نَشَاءُ جَعَلْنَاهُ أُجَاجًا فَلَوْلَا تَشْكُرُونَ (Ⅳ)
- Were it Our Will, We could make it salt (and unpalatable): then why do ye not give thanks? (Ⅵ)
56. 71  
Have you considered the fire which you strike?
- Afaraaytumu alnnara allatee tooroona (Ⅰ)
- Have ye observed the fire which ye strike out; (Ⅱ)
- Have you considered the fire you kindle? (Ⅲ)
- أَفَرَأَيْتُمُ النَّارَ الَّتِي تُورُونَ (Ⅳ)
- See ye the Fire which ye kindle? (Ⅵ)
56. 72  
Is it you that produce the trees for it, or are We the producers?
- Aantum anshatum shajarataha am nahnu almunshioona (Ⅰ)
- Was it ye who made the tree thereof to grow, or were We the grower ? (Ⅱ)
- Did you make its timber to grow, or did We make it? (Ⅲ)
- أَأَنتُمْ أَنشَأْتُمْ شَجَرَتَهَا أَمْ نَحْنُ الْمُنشِئُونَ (Ⅳ)
- Is it ye who grow the tree which feeds the fire, or do We grow it? (Ⅵ)
56. 73  
We have made it a reminder and a convenience for the dwellers of the deserts.
- Nahnu jaAAalnaha tathkiratan wamataAAan lilmuqweena (Ⅰ)
- We, even We, appointed it a memorial and a comfort for the dwellers in the wilderness. (Ⅱ)
- We Ourselves made it for a reminder, and a boon to the desert-dwellers. (Ⅲ)
- نَحْنُ جَعَلْنَاهَا تَذْكِرَةً وَمَتَاعًا لِّلْمُقْوِينَ (Ⅳ)
- We have made it a memorial (of Our handiwork), and an article of comfort and convenience for the denizens of deserts. (Ⅵ)
56. 74  
Therefore, glorify the name of your Lord, the Supreme.
- Fasabbih biismi rabbika alAAatheemi (Ⅰ)
- Therefor (O Muhammad), praise the name of thy Lord, the Tremendous. (Ⅱ)
- Then magnify the Name of thy Lord, the All-mighty. (Ⅲ)
- فَسَبِّحْ بِاسْمِ رَبِّكَ الْعَظِيمِ (Ⅳ)
- Then celebrate with praises the name of thy Lord, the Supreme! (Ⅵ)
56. 75  
But nay! I swear by the setting (or falling or fading) of stars;
- Fala oqsimu bimawaqiAAi alnnujoomi (Ⅰ)
- Nay, I swear by the places of the stars - (Ⅱ)
- No! I swear by the fallings of the stars (Ⅲ)
- ۞ فَلَا أُقْسِمُ بِمَوَاقِعِ النُّجُومِ (Ⅳ)
- Furthermore I call to witness the setting of the Stars,- (Ⅵ)
56. 76  
And most surely it is a very great oath if you only knew;
- Wainnahu laqasamun law taAAlamoona AAatheemun (Ⅰ)
- And lo! that verily is a tremendous oath, if ye but knew - (Ⅱ)
- (and that is indeed a mighty oath, did you but know it) (Ⅲ)
- وَإِنَّهُ لَقَسَمٌ لَّوْ تَعْلَمُونَ عَظِيمٌ (Ⅳ)
- And that is indeed a mighty adjuration if ye but knew,- (Ⅵ)
56. 77  
Most surely it is an honoured Quran,
- Innahu laquranun kareemun (Ⅰ)
- That (this) is indeed a noble Qur'an (Ⅱ)
- it is surely a noble Koran (Ⅲ)
- إِنَّهُ لَقُرْآنٌ كَرِيمٌ (Ⅳ)
- That this is indeed a qur´an Most Honourable, (Ⅵ)
56. 78  
In a book that is protected
- Fee kitabin maknoonin (Ⅰ)
- In a Book kept hidden (Ⅱ)
- in a hidden Book (Ⅲ)
- فِي كِتَابٍ مَّكْنُونٍ (Ⅳ)
- In Book well-guarded, (Ⅵ)
56. 79  
None shall touch it save the purified ones.
- La yamassuhu illa almutahharoona (Ⅰ)
- Which none toucheth save the purified, (Ⅱ)
- none but the purified shall touch, (Ⅲ)
- لَّا يَمَسُّهُ إِلَّا الْمُطَهَّرُونَ (Ⅳ)
- Which none shall touch but those who are clean: (Ⅵ)
56. 80  
A revelation by the Lord of the worlds.
- Tanzeelun min rabbi alAAalameena (Ⅰ)
- A revelation from the Lord of the Worlds. (Ⅱ)
- a sending down from the Lord of all Being. (Ⅲ)
- تَنزِيلٌ مِّن رَّبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ (Ⅳ)
- A Revelation from the Lord of the Worlds. (Ⅵ)
56. 81  
Do you then hold this announcement in contempt?
- Afabihatha alhadeethi antum mudhinoona (Ⅰ)
- Is it this Statement that ye scorn, (Ⅱ)
- What, do you hold this discourse in disdain, (Ⅲ)
- أَفَبِهَٰذَا الْحَدِيثِ أَنتُم مُّدْهِنُونَ (Ⅳ)
- Is it such a Message that ye would hold in light esteem? (Ⅵ)
56. 82  
And make denial of it your means of subsistence.
- WatajAAaloona rizqakum annakum tukaththiboona (Ⅰ)
- And make denial thereof your livelihood ? (Ⅱ)
- and do you make it your living to cry lies? (Ⅲ)
- وَتَجْعَلُونَ رِزْقَكُمْ أَنَّكُمْ تُكَذِّبُونَ (Ⅳ)
- And have ye made it your livelihood that ye should declare it false? (Ⅵ)
56. 83  
Why then do you not (intervene) when the soul comes up to the throat (of a dying person),
- Falawla itha balaghati alhulqooma (Ⅰ)
- Why, then, when (the soul) cometh up to the throat (of the dying) (Ⅱ)
- Why, but when the soul leaps to the throat of the dying (Ⅲ)
- فَلَوْلَا إِذَا بَلَغَتِ الْحُلْقُومَ (Ⅳ)
- Then why do ye not (intervene) when (the soul of the dying man) reaches the throat,- (Ⅵ)
56. 84  
And you the while look on -
- Waantum heenaithin tanthuroona (Ⅰ)
- And ye are at that moment looking (Ⅱ)
- and that hour you are watching (Ⅲ)
- وَأَنتُمْ حِينَئِذٍ تَنظُرُونَ (Ⅳ)
- And ye the while (sit) looking on,- (Ⅵ)
56. 85  
And We are nearer to it (the soul) than you, but you see not -
- Wanahnu aqrabu ilayhi minkum walakin la tubsiroona (Ⅰ)
- - And We are nearer unto him than ye are, but ye see not - (Ⅱ)
- (And We are nigher him than you, but you do not see Us) (Ⅲ)
- وَنَحْنُ أَقْرَبُ إِلَيْهِ مِنكُمْ وَلَٰكِن لَّا تُبْصِرُونَ (Ⅳ)
- But We are nearer to him than ye, and yet see not,- (Ⅵ)
56. 86  
Then why, if you are not under Our authority,
- Falawla in kuntum ghayra madeeneena (Ⅰ)
- Why then, if ye are not in bondage (unto Us), (Ⅱ)
- why, if you are not at Our disposal, (Ⅲ)
- فَلَوْلَا إِن كُنتُمْ غَيْرَ مَدِينِينَ (Ⅳ)
- Then why do ye not,- If you are exempt from (future) account,- (Ⅵ)
56. 87  
Force back (the soul), if you are truthful (about your independence)?
- TarjiAAoonaha in kuntum sadiqeena (Ⅰ)
- Do ye not force it back, if ye are truthful ? (Ⅱ)
- do you not bring back his soul, if you speak truly? (Ⅲ)
- تَرْجِعُونَهَا إِن كُنتُمْ صَادِقِينَ (Ⅳ)
- Call back the soul, if ye are true (in the claim of independence)? (Ⅵ)
56. 88  
Then if he is one of those Near to Allah,
- Faamma in kana mina almuqarrabeena (Ⅰ)
- Thus if he is of those brought nigh, (Ⅱ)
- Then, if he be of those brought nigh the Throne, (Ⅲ)
- فَأَمَّا إِن كَانَ مِنَ الْمُقَرَّبِينَ (Ⅳ)
- Thus, then, if he be of those Nearest to Allah, (Ⅵ)
56. 89  
(There is for him) Satisfaction and Bounty and a Garden of Bliss.
- Farawhun warayhanun wajannatu naAAeemin (Ⅰ)
- Then breath of life, and plenty, and a Garden of delight. (Ⅱ)
- there shall be repose and ease, and a Garden of Delight; (Ⅲ)
- فَرَوْحٌ وَرَيْحَانٌ وَجَنَّتُ نَعِيمٍ (Ⅳ)
- (There is for him) Rest and Satisfaction, and a Garden of Delights. (Ⅵ)
56. 90  
And if he is one of those on the Right Hand,
- Waamma in kana min ashabi alyameeni (Ⅰ)
- And if he is of those on the right hand, (Ⅱ)
- and if he be a Companion of the Right: (Ⅲ)
- وَأَمَّا إِن كَانَ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ الْيَمِينِ (Ⅳ)
- And if he be of the Companions of the Right Hand, (Ⅵ)
56. 91  
Then (the salutation) "Peace to you” from the companions of the Right Hand.
- Fasalamun laka min ashabi alyameeni (Ⅰ)
- Then (the greeting) "Peace be unto thee" from those on the right hand. (Ⅱ)
- ´Peace be upon thee, Companion of the Right!´ (Ⅲ)
- فَسَلَامٌ لَّكَ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ الْيَمِينِ (Ⅳ)
- (For him is the salutation), "Peace be unto thee", from the Companions of the Right Hand. (Ⅵ)
56. 92  
And if he is one of the rejecters, the erring ones,
- Waamma in kana mina almukaththibeena alddalleena (Ⅰ)
- But if he is of the rejecters, the erring, (Ⅱ)
- But if he be of them that cried lies, and went astray, (Ⅲ)
- وَأَمَّا إِن كَانَ مِنَ الْمُكَذِّبِينَ الضَّالِّينَ (Ⅳ)
- And if he be of those who treat (Truth) as Falsehood, who go wrong, (Ⅵ)
56. 93  
He shall have an entertainment of boiling water,
- Fanuzulun min hameemin (Ⅰ)
- Then the welcome will be boiling water (Ⅱ)
- there shall be a hospitality of boiling water (Ⅲ)
- فَنُزُلٌ مِّنْ حَمِيمٍ (Ⅳ)
- For him is Entertainment with Boiling Water. (Ⅵ)
56. 94  
And burning in Hell.
- Watasliyatu jaheemin (Ⅰ)
- And roasting at hell-fire. (Ⅱ)
- and the roasting in Hell. (Ⅲ)
- وَتَصْلِيَةُ جَحِيمٍ (Ⅳ)
- And burning in Hell-Fire. (Ⅵ)
56. 95  
Most surely this is a certain truth (or the Truth of Certainty).
- Inna hatha lahuwa haqqu alyaqeeni (Ⅰ)
- Lo! this is certain truth. (Ⅱ)
- Surely this is the truth of certainty. (Ⅲ)
- إِنَّ هَٰذَا لَهُوَ حَقُّ الْيَقِينِ (Ⅳ)
- Verily, this is the Very Truth and Certainly. (Ⅵ)
56. 96  
Therefore glorify the name of your Lord, the Supreme.
- Fasabbih biismi rabbika alAAatheemi (Ⅰ)
- Therefor (O Muhammad) praise the name of thy Lord, the Tremendous. (Ⅱ)
- Then magnify the Name of thy Lord, the All-mighty. (Ⅲ)
- فَسَبِّحْ بِاسْمِ رَبِّكَ الْعَظِيمِ (Ⅳ)
- So celebrate with praises the name of thy Lord, the Supreme. (Ⅵ)
