بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
- Alhamdu lillahi rabbi alAAalameena (Ⅰ) - The Beneficent, the Merciful, (Ⅱ) - In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful. (Ⅲ) - Praise belongs to God, the Lord of all Being, (Ⅳ) - Praise be to Allah, the Cherisher and Sustainer of the worlds; (Ⅵ)

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ وَيْلٌ لِّلْمُطَفِّفِينَ
- Waylun lilmutaffifeena (Ⅰ) - Woe to the defrauders, (Ⅱ) - Woe unto the defrauders: (Ⅲ) - Woe to the stinters who, (Ⅳ) - Woe to those that deal in fraud,- (Ⅵ)

الَّذِينَ إِذَا اكْتَالُوا عَلَى النَّاسِ يَسْتَوْفُونَ
- Allatheena itha iktaloo AAala alnnasi yastawfoona (Ⅰ) - Who, when they take the measure of their dues from men take it fully, (Ⅱ) - Those who when they take the measure from mankind demand it full, (Ⅲ) - when they measure against the people, take full measure (Ⅳ) - Those who, when they have to receive by measure from men, exact full measure, (Ⅵ)

وَإِذَا كَالُوهُمْ أَو وَّزَنُوهُمْ يُخْسِرُونَ
- Waitha kaloohum aw wazanoohum yukhsiroona (Ⅰ) - But when they give by measure or weight, they are deficient. (Ⅱ) - But if they measure unto them or weight for them, they cause them loss. (Ⅲ) - but, when they measure for them or weigh for them, do skimp. (Ⅳ) - But when they have to give by measure or weight to men, give less than due. (Ⅵ)

أَلَا يَظُنُّ أُولَٰئِكَ أَنَّهُم مَّبْعُوثُونَ
- Ala yathunnu olaika annahum mabAAoothoona (Ⅰ) - Do not these think that they shall be raised again to account (Ⅱ) - Do such (men) not consider that they will be raised again (Ⅲ) - Do those not think that they shall be raised up (Ⅳ) - Do they not think that they will be called to account?- (Ⅵ)

لِيَوْمٍ عَظِيمٍ
- Liyawmin AAatheemin (Ⅰ) - On a Mighty Day, (Ⅱ) - Unto an Awful Day, (Ⅲ) - unto a mighty day (Ⅳ) - On a Mighty Day, (Ⅵ)

يَوْمَ يَقُومُ النَّاسُ لِرَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ
- Yawma yaqoomu alnnasu lirabbi alAAalameena (Ⅰ) - The day on which men shall stand before the Lord of the Worlds? (Ⅱ) - The day when (all) mankind stand before the Lord of the Worlds ? (Ⅲ) - a day when mankind shall stand before the Lord of all Being? (Ⅳ) - A Day when (all) mankind will stand before the Lord of the Worlds? (Ⅵ)

7
كَلَّا إِنَّ كِتَابَ الْفُجَّارِ لَفِي سِجِّينٍ
- Kalla inna kitaba alfujjari lafee sijjeenin (Ⅰ) - Nay! Most surely the record of the wicked is in Sijjin. (Ⅱ) - Nay, but the record of the vile is in Sijjin - (Ⅲ) - No indeed; the Book of the libertines is in Sijjin; (Ⅳ) - Nay! Surely the record of the wicked is (preserved) in Sijjin. (Ⅵ)

وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا سِجِّينٌ
- Wama adraka ma sijjeenun (Ⅰ) - And what will explain to you what Sijjin is? (Ⅱ) - Ah! what will convey unto thee what Sijjin is! - (Ⅲ) - and what shall teach thee what is Sijjin? (Ⅳ) - And what will explain to thee what Sijjin is? (Ⅵ)

كِتَابٌ مَّرْقُومٌ
- Kitabun marqoomun (Ⅰ) - It is an inscribed Record. (Ⅱ) - A written record. (Ⅲ) - A book inscribed. (Ⅳ) - (There is) a Register (fully) inscribed. (Ⅵ)

10
وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ
- Waylun yawmaithin lilmukaththibeena (Ⅰ) - Woe on that day to the rejecters, (Ⅱ) - Woe unto the repudiators on that day! (Ⅲ) - Woe that day unto those who cry it lies, (Ⅳ) - Woe, that Day, to those that deny- (Ⅵ)

الَّذِينَ يُكَذِّبُونَ بِيَوْمِ الدِّينِ
- Allatheena yukaththiboona biyawmi alddeeni (Ⅰ) - Who give the lie to the Day of Judgment. (Ⅱ) - Those who deny the Day of Judgment (Ⅲ) - who cry lies to the Day of Doom; (Ⅳ) - Those that deny the Day of Judgment. (Ⅵ)

83.
12
وَمَا يُكَذِّبُ بِهِ إِلَّا كُلُّ مُعْتَدٍ أَثِيمٍ
- Wama yukaththibu bihi illa kullu muAAtadin atheemin (Ⅰ) - And none deny it but the transgressors beyond bounds, the sinful one (Ⅱ) - Which none denieth save each criminal transgressor, (Ⅲ) - and none cries lies to it but every guilty aggressor. (Ⅳ) - And none can deny it but the Transgressor beyond bounds the Sinner! (Ⅵ)

إِذَا تُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْهِ آيَاتُنَا قَالَ أَسَاطِيرُ الْأَوَّلِينَ
- Itha tutla AAalayhi ayatuna qala asateeru alawwaleena (Ⅰ) - When Our revelations are recited to him, he says, "Stories of those of yore." (Ⅱ) - Who, when thou readest unto him Our revelations, saith: (Mere) fables of the men of old. (Ⅲ) - When our signs are recited to him, he says, ´Fairy-tales of the ancients!´ (Ⅳ) - When Our Signs are rehearsed to him, he says, "Tales of the ancients!" (Ⅵ)

كَلَّا ۖ بَلْ ۜ رَانَ عَلَىٰ قُلُوبِهِم مَّا كَانُوا يَكْسِبُونَ
- Kalla bal rana AAala quloobihim ma kanoo yaksiboona (Ⅰ) - Nay! But what they used to do has become like rust upon their heart. (Ⅱ) - Nay, but that which they have earned is rust upon their hearts. (Ⅲ) - No indeed; but that they were earning has rusted upon their hearts. (Ⅳ) - By no means! but on their hearts is the stain of the (ill) which they do! (Ⅵ)

15
كَلَّا إِنَّهُمْ عَن رَّبِّهِمْ يَوْمَئِذٍ لَّمَحْجُوبُونَ
- Kalla innahum AAan rabbihim yawmaithin lamahjooboona (Ⅰ) - Nay! Most surely they shall on that day be debarred (or veiled) from their Lord. (Ⅱ) - Nay, but surely on that day they will be covered from (the mercy of) their Lord. (Ⅲ) - No indeed; but upon that day they shall be veiled from their Lord, (Ⅳ) - Verily, from (the Light of) their Lord, that Day, will they be veiled. (Ⅵ)

83.
16
ثُمَّ إِنَّهُمْ لَصَالُو الْجَحِيمِ
- Thumma innahum lasaloo aljaheemi (Ⅰ) - Then most surely they shall enter the burning Fire. (Ⅱ) - Then lo! they verily will burn in hell, (Ⅲ) - then they shall roast in Hell. (Ⅳ) - Further, they will enter the Fire of Hell. (Ⅵ)

ثُمَّ يُقَالُ هَٰذَا الَّذِي كُنتُم بِهِ تُكَذِّبُونَ
- Thumma yuqalu hatha allathee kuntum bihi tukaththiboona (Ⅰ) - Then shall it be said, "This is what you gave the lie to." (Ⅱ) - And it will be said (unto them): This is that which ye used to deny. (Ⅲ) - Then it shall be said to them, ´This is that you cried lies to.´ (Ⅳ) - Further, it will be said to them: "This is the (reality) which ye rejected as false! (Ⅵ)

كَلَّا إِنَّ كِتَابَ الْأَبْرَارِ لَفِي عِلِّيِّينَ
- Kalla inna kitaba alabrari lafee AAilliyyeena (Ⅰ) - Nay! Most surely the record of the righteous shall be in Iliyin. (Ⅱ) - Nay, but the record of the righteous is in 'Illiyin - (Ⅲ) - No indeed; the book of the pious is in Illiyun; (Ⅳ) - Day, verily the record of the Righteous is (preserved) in ´Illiyin. (Ⅵ)

وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا عِلِّيُّونَ
- Wama adraka ma AAilliyyoona (Ⅰ) - And what will explain to you what Iliyin is? (Ⅱ) - Ah, what will convey unto thee what 'Illiyin is! - (Ⅲ) - and what shall teach thee what is Illiyun? (Ⅳ) - And what will explain to thee what ´Illiyun is? (Ⅵ)

كِتَابٌ مَّرْقُومٌ

يَشْهَدُهُ الْمُقَرَّبُونَ
- Yashhaduhu almuqarraboona (Ⅰ) - Those who are drawn near to Allah shall witness it. (Ⅱ) - Attested by those who are brought near (unto their Lord). (Ⅲ) - witnessed by those brought nigh. (Ⅳ) - To which bear witness those Nearest (to Allah). (Ⅵ)

83.
22
إِنَّ الْأَبْرَارَ لَفِي نَعِيمٍ
- Inna alabrara lafee naAAeemin (Ⅰ) - Most surely the righteous shall be in bliss, (Ⅱ) - Lo! the righteous verily are in delight, (Ⅲ) - Surely the pious shall be in bliss, (Ⅳ) - Truly the Righteous will be in Bliss: (Ⅵ)

23
عَلَى الْأَرَائِكِ يَنظُرُونَ
- AAala alaraiki yanthuroona (Ⅰ) - On thrones, they shall gaze; (Ⅱ) - On couches, gazing, (Ⅲ) - upon couches gazing; (Ⅳ) - On Thrones (of Dignity) will they command a sight (of all things): (Ⅵ)

تَعْرِفُ فِي وُجُوهِهِمْ نَضْرَةَ النَّعِيمِ
- TaAArifu fee wujoohihim nadrata alnnaAAeemi (Ⅰ) - You will see in their faces the brightness of bliss. (Ⅱ) - Thou wilt know in their faces the radiance of delight. (Ⅲ) - thou knowest in their faces the radiancy of bliss (Ⅳ) - Thou wilt recognise in their faces the beaming brightness of Bliss. (Ⅵ)

يُسْقَوْنَ مِن رَّحِيقٍ مَّخْتُومٍ
- Yusqawna min raheeqin makhtoomin (Ⅰ) - They are given to drink pure wine, sealed. (Ⅱ) - They are given to drink of a pure wine, sealed, (Ⅲ) - as they are given to drink of a wine sealed (Ⅳ) - Their thirst will be slaked with Pure Wine sealed: (Ⅵ)

خِتَامُهُ مِسْكٌ ۚ وَفِي ذَٰلِكَ فَلْيَتَنَافَسِ الْمُتَنَافِسُونَ
- Khitamuhu miskun wafee thalika falyatanafasi almutanafisoona (Ⅰ) - The sealing of it is with musk; and for that let the aspirers aspire. (Ⅱ) - Whose seal is musk - for this let (all) those strive who strive for bliss - (Ⅲ) - whose seal is musk -- so after that let the strivers strive -- (Ⅳ) - The seal thereof will be Musk: And for this let those aspire, who have aspirations: (Ⅵ)

وَمِزَاجُهُ مِن تَسْنِيمٍ
- Wamizajuhu min tasneemin (Ⅰ) - And the admixture of it is a water of Tasnim, (Ⅱ) - And mixed with water of Tasnim, (Ⅲ) - and whose mixture is Tasnim, (Ⅳ) - With it will be (given) a mixture of Tasnim: (Ⅵ)

عَيْنًا يَشْرَبُ بِهَا الْمُقَرَّبُونَ
- AAaynan yashrabu biha almuqarraboona (Ⅰ) - A fountain from which drink they who are nearest to Allah. (Ⅱ) - A spring whence those brought near (to Allah) drink. (Ⅲ) - a fountain at which do drink those brought nigh. (Ⅳ) - A spring, from (the waters) whereof drink those Nearest to Allah. (Ⅵ)

29
إِنَّ الَّذِينَ أَجْرَمُوا كَانُوا مِنَ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا يَضْحَكُونَ
- Inna allatheena ajramoo kanoo mina allatheena amanoo yadhakoona (Ⅰ) - Surely they who are guilty used to laugh at those who believe. (Ⅱ) - Lo! the guilty used to laugh at those who believed, (Ⅲ) - Behold, the sinners were laughing at the believers, (Ⅳ) - Those in sin used to laugh at those who believed, (Ⅵ)

وَإِذَا مَرُّوا بِهِمْ يَتَغَامَزُونَ
- Waitha marroo bihim yataghamazoona (Ⅰ) - And when they passed by them, they winked at one another. (Ⅱ) - And wink one to another when they passed them; (Ⅲ) - when them passed them by winking at one another, (Ⅳ) - And whenever they passed by them, used to wink at each other (in mockery); (Ⅵ)

وَإِذَا انقَلَبُوا إِلَىٰ أَهْلِهِمُ انقَلَبُوا فَكِهِينَ
- Waitha inqalaboo ila ahlihimu inqalaboo fakiheena (Ⅰ) - And when they returned to their own folk they returned exulting. (Ⅱ) - And when they returned to their own folk, they returned jesting; (Ⅲ) - and when they returned to their people they returned blithely, (Ⅳ) - And when they returned to their own people, they would return jesting; (Ⅵ)

وَإِذَا رَأَوْهُمْ قَالُوا إِنَّ هَٰؤُلَاءِ لَضَالُّونَ
- Waitha raawhum qaloo inna haolai ladalloona (Ⅰ) - And when they saw them, they said, "Most surely these are truly astray". (Ⅱ) - And when they saw them they said: Lo! these have gone astray. (Ⅲ) - and when they saw them they said, ´Lo, these men are astray!´ (Ⅳ) - And whenever they saw them, they would say, "Behold! These are the people truly astray!" (Ⅵ)

وَمَا أُرْسِلُوا عَلَيْهِمْ حَافِظِينَ
- Wama orsiloo AAalayhim hafitheena (Ⅰ) - But they were not sent to be keepers over them. (Ⅱ) - Yet they were not sent as guardians over them. (Ⅲ) - Yet they were not sent as watchers over them. (Ⅳ) - But they had not been sent as keepers over them! (Ⅵ)

فَالْيَوْمَ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا مِنَ الْكُفَّارِ يَضْحَكُونَ
- Faalyawma allatheena amanoo mina alkuffari yadhakoona (Ⅰ) - This day it is the believers who shall laugh at the unbelievers; (Ⅱ) - This day it is those who believe who have the laugh of disbelievers, (Ⅲ) - So today the believers are laughing at the unbelievers, (Ⅳ) - But on this Day the Believers will laugh at the Unbelievers: (Ⅵ)

عَلَى الْأَرَائِكِ يَنظُرُونَ
- AAala alaraiki yanthuroona (Ⅰ) - On thrones (of dignity), they will gaze. (Ⅱ) - On high couches, gazing. (Ⅲ) - upon couches gazing. (Ⅳ) - On Thrones (of Dignity) they will command (a sight) (of all things). (Ⅵ)

36
هَلْ ثُوِّبَ الْكُفَّارُ مَا كَانُوا يَفْعَلُونَ
- Hal thuwwiba alkuffaru ma kanoo yafAAaloona (Ⅰ) - Are not the disbelievers rewarded for what they did? (Ⅱ) - Are not the disbelievers paid for what they used to do ? (Ⅲ) - Have the unbelievers been rewarded what they were doing? (Ⅳ) - Will not the Unbelievers have been paid back for what they did? (Ⅵ)
