Praise be to Allah, the Cherisher and Sustainer of the worlds;
- Alhamdu lillahi rabbi alAAalameena (Ⅰ) - The Beneficent, the Merciful, (Ⅱ) - In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful. (Ⅲ) - Praise belongs to God, the Lord of all Being, (Ⅳ) - بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ (Ⅴ)

94.
1
Have We not expanded thee thy breast?-
- Alam nashrah laka sadraka (Ⅰ) - Have We not expanded for you your breast? (Ⅱ) - Have We not caused thy bosom to dilate, (Ⅲ) - Did We not expand thy breast for thee (Ⅳ) - بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ أَلَمْ نَشْرَحْ لَكَ صَدْرَكَ (Ⅴ)

And removed from thee thy burden
- WawadaAAna AAanka wizraka (Ⅰ) - And set down from you your load (Ⅱ) - And eased thee of the burden (Ⅲ) - and lift from thee thy burden, (Ⅳ) - وَوَضَعْنَا عَنكَ وِزْرَكَ (Ⅴ)

The which did gall thy back?-
- Allathee anqada thahraka (Ⅰ) - Which galled your back? (Ⅱ) - Which weighed down thy back; (Ⅲ) - the burden that weighed down thy back? (Ⅳ) - الَّذِي أَنقَضَ ظَهْرَكَ (Ⅴ)

And raised high the esteem (in which) thou (art held)?
- WarafaAAna laka thikraka (Ⅰ) - And exalted for you your renown? (Ⅱ) - And exalted thy fame ? (Ⅲ) - Did We not exalt thy fame? (Ⅳ) - وَرَفَعْنَا لَكَ ذِكْرَكَ (Ⅴ)

So, verily, with every difficulty, there is relief:
- Fainna maAAa alAAusri yusran (Ⅰ) - Verily, with difficulty comes ease! (Ⅱ) - But lo! with hardship goeth ease, (Ⅲ) - So truly with hardship comes ease, (Ⅳ) - فَإِنَّ مَعَ الْعُسْرِ يُسْرًا (Ⅴ)

Verily, with every difficulty there is relief.

Therefore, when thou art free (from thine immediate task), still labour hard,
- Faitha faraghta fainsab (Ⅰ) - So when you are at relieved, then still toil, (Ⅱ) - So when thou art relieved, still toil (Ⅲ) - So when thou art empty, labour, (Ⅳ) - فَإِذَا فَرَغْتَ فَانصَبْ (Ⅴ)

And to thy Lord turn (all) thy attention.
- Waila rabbika fairghab (Ⅰ) - And to your Lord turn all your yearning (or attention)! (Ⅱ) - And strive to please thy Lord. (Ⅲ) - and let thy Lord be thy Quest. (Ⅳ) - وَإِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ فَارْغَب (Ⅴ)
